The health care system wants for every patient to access rigorous and personalized coordinated treatments. With the ageing of the population, chronic pathologies are on the rise, demanding more participants for treating the patients. This makes the treatment process more complicated for ambulatory patients, especially on medical social and organizational levels, generating an increasing number of emergency consultations for elderly people. A screening process for these patients seems necessary. 143 patients aged of 75 and above were considered. 78 patients were defined as complex patients. The complex patients are older (average of 86.9 years old), they take more often anticoagulants or benzodiazepines, and have a higher Charlson score (6,2). The SoCoLoc scale is as good as the ISAR scale to screen complex patients. The caring of complex patients in the emergency room requires more complementary tests, like biology, imaging or electrocardiogram. More than one out of two complex patients (56,4%) is hospitalized after arriving at the emergency service. A new study appears to be of interest to compare the diagnostic performance of the SoCoLoc scale with the geriatric evaluation.; Le système de santé veut que chaque patient puisse bénéficier de parcours de soins coordonnées, rigoureux et personnalisés à ses besoins. Avec le vieillissement de la population, on observe une augmentation des pathologies chroniques et des intervenants dans le parcours de soin des patients. Cela peut complexifier le parcours de soins du patient en ambulatoire, notamment sur le plan médical, social et organisationnel, ayant pour conséquence une augmentation des consultations des personnes âgées aux urgences. Par conséquent, un outil de dépistage de ces patients semble nécessaire. 143 patients âgés de 75 ans et plus ont été inclus. 78 patients ont été définis comme complexes. Les patients complexes sont plus âgés (moyenne d’âge à 86,9 ans) comparativement aux patients non complexes, prennent plus souvent des médicaments type anticoagulant ou benzodiazépine et ont un score de Charlson plus élevé (6,2). L’échelle SoCoLoc fait aussi bien que l’échelle ISAR pour dépister ces patients complexes. La prise en charge des patients complexes aux urgences nécessite la réalisation de plus d’examens complémentaires comme une biologie, une imagerie ou un électrocardiogramme. Plus d’un patient complexe sur deux (56,4%) sera hospitalisé après son passage dans la structure d’accueil des urgences. Une nouvelle étude semble intéressante pour comparer la performance diagnostique de l’échelle SoCoLoc à l’évaluation gériatrique.
