In this study, regarding the attachment styles, sociobehavioral problems in first-grade children with experience of preschool and in those taught by their mothers at-home are compared. A casual-comparative method was used to compare children in the two groups. A total of 320 first-grade children participated in the study. The study measures included a separation anxiety test, an adaptive behavior scale, and a children’s symptom inventory. Data were analyzed using multivariate statistics. Secure attachment in the group with experience of preschool was significantly higher than that in the at-home group. None of the variables, including parents’ education and father’s income, significantly affected attachment style. Neither father’s education, father’s income, or attachment significantly influenced adjustment. Father’s education significantly influenced children’s symptoms. Attachment style and hours of preschool attendance had no effect on Child Symptom Inventory scores. Associations among age at joining preschool, attachment style, and behavioral and adaptive problems in first-grade children were nonlinear and multivariate. By taking into account parents’ awareness, sensitivity, and responsiveness, relative welfare, appropriate quality of child-care centers, and having fewer hours of preschool attendance, the risk factors for early parent–child separation and institutional care can be reduced. In this paper, we consider a measure of inaccuracy between distributions of the nth record value and parent random variable. We also propose the measure of residual inaccuracy of record values and study characterization results of dynamic cumulative residual inaccuracy measure. The concept of generalized order statistics (gos) has been introduced as a unified models of ordered random variables. In this paper, we find some properties on concomitants of gos in Morgenstern type bivariate Rayleigh distribution (MTBRD). Recurrence relations between moments of concomitants are also obtained. Some properties of joint distributions for concomitants of gos are presented. Finally, we have derived the best linear unbiased estimator based on concomitants of record values for a parameter involved in MTBRD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this article, we introduce a new extension of the generalized linear failure rate (GLFR) distributions. It includes some well-known lifetime distributions such as extension of generalized exponential and GLFR distributions as special sub-models. In addition, it can have a constant, decreasing, increasing, upside-down bathtub (unimodal), and bathtub-shaped hazard rate function (hrf) depending on its parameters. We provide some of its statistical properties such as moments, quantiles, skewness, kurtosis, hrf, and reversible hrf. The maximum likelihood estimation of the parameters is also discussed. At the end, a real dataset is given to illustrate the usefulness of this new distribution in analyzing lifetime data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This trial was conducted to investigate the effect of arginine (Arg), threonine (Thr) and Arg + Thr administered in ovo on growth performance, digestive organs and intestinal morphology in broiler chickens. On day 14 of incubation, 400 fertile eggs were randomly allotted to five experimental treatments through injection in the amniotic fluid including: (i) control (none injected), (ii) sham (0.5 ml of 0.5% saline), (iii) Arg (35 mg/egg), (iv) Thr (25 mg/egg) and (v) Arg + Thr (35 + 25 mg/egg). After hatching, chicks were given a commercial corn-soya bean diet up to 42 days of age. Daily feed intake ( FI) and body weight ( BW) of chicks were measured during different periods of the trial. Digestive organs were measured for their relative weight and intestinal length on days 11 and 42 of age. Intestinal morphometric traits were evaluated on day 11 of the experiment. Supplementing amino acids affected the performance of broiler chicks as Thr significantly increased FI and BW across starter, grower and finisher periods compared with sham and control (p < 0.05). Furthermore, Arg + Thr injection increased jejunal weight compared with control on day 42 (p < 0.05). Moreover, Arg inclusion led to the greatest villus height and crypt depth among treatments in duodenum (p > 0.05); however, amino acid supplemented groups had lower villus height than control in jejunum (p < 0.05). Negative correlations found between digestive organs related to day 11 of age containing pancreas ( r = −0.484; p = 0.030), duodenal ( r = −0.577; p = 0.007) as well as ileal lengths ( r = −0.471; p = 0.035) and FI of entire period. Otherwise, positive relationships were observed between duodenum ( r = 0.580; p = 0.007) and ileum ( r = 0.582; p = 0.007) weights on day 42 and FI of chickens across the entire phase. In conclusion, Arg and particularly Thr injection into amnion can improve FI and post-hatch growth performance of chickens which may be mediated by the development of digestive organs. In this article, we introduce the Gompertz power series (GPS) class of distributions which is obtained by compounding Gompertz and power series distributions. This distribution contains several lifetime models such as Gompertz-geometric (GG), Gompertz-Poisson (GP), Gompertz-binomial (GB), and Gompertz-logarithmic (GL) distributions as special cases. Sub-models of the GPS distribution are studied in details. The hazard rate function of the GPS distribution can be increasing, decreasing, and bathtub-shaped. We obtain several properties of the GPS distribution such as its probability density function, and failure rate function, Shannon entropy, mean residual life function, quantiles, and moments. The maximum likelihood estimation procedure via a EM-algorithm is presented, and simulation studies are performed for evaluation of this estimation for complete data, and the MLE of parameters for censored data. We obtain unbiased estimators for a parameter of Morgenstern type bivariate gamma distribution (MTBGD) based on the observations made on the units of the ranked set sampling regarding the study variable Y which is correlated with the auxiliary variable X, when (X, Y) follows a MTBGD. In this paper, we introduce a new class of distributions by compounding the exponentiated extended Weibull family and power series family. This distribution contains several lifetime models such as the complementary extended Weibull-power series, generalized exponential-power series, generalized linear failure rate-power series, exponentiated Weibull-power series, generalized modified Weibull-power series, generalized Gompertz-power series and exponentiated extended Weibull distributions as special cases. We obtain several properties of this new class of distributions such as Shannon entropy, mean residual life, hazard rate function, quantiles and moments. Background and Aims: Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) is a valuable medicinal plant from Asteraceae family with various pharmacological and therapeutic properties. In this article we reviewed the various aspects of feverfew including botanical characteristics, cultivation and production and medicinal and clinical uses.Material and Methods: Google Scholar, PubMed, EBSCO, Directory of open access journals (DOAJ), EMBASE, and Web of Science were searched using the keywords feverfew and parthenolide. Results: The essential oil of feverfew is frequently used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Parthenolide is the most important active component of feverfew that is used for the treatment of a wide variety of diseases such as fever, migraine headache, and rheumatoid arthritis.Conclusion: Feverfew has several positive clinical uses and has the potential to be considered as a new drug for the treatment of some diseases.

Developing an efficient treatment method is crucial in oral delivery systems due to its comfortable drug administration. This work aims to synthesize pH-responsive magnetic bio-nanocomposite hydrogel beads (MHBs) based on sodium alginate and β-cyclodextrin to deliver the doxorubicin (DOX) drug against colorectal cancer. The Fe 3 O 4 NPs were used to increase the efficiency of the drug carriers in the tumor site and modified with green synthesized Ag NPs, which were reduced and stabilized by basil plant extract to increase anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant properties. FTIR, XRD, SEM, VSM, and TGA analysis confirmed the successful synthesis. The prepared MHBs were studied at different simulated digestive system pH values and represented pH-sensitive swelling behavior. The minimal and highest ratio of the drug releases from MHBs was seen at pH 1.2 < 1 % and pH 7.4 > 98 %, respectively. The antibacterial study revealed the highest activity of MHBs versus Staphylococcus aureus > 98.68 % and Escherichia coli > 99.2 %, respectively. The antioxidant study revealed the desired activity. The MTT assay of DOX-loaded MHBs on HT-29 cell lines revealed controlled release properties of MHBs with IC50 about 64 μL/mL, promising the controlled delivery of anticancer agents for colon cancer treatment., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2025. Aging is a complex and heterogeneous biological process characterized by telomere attrition, genomic instability, mitochondrial dysfunction, and disruption in nutrient sensing. Besides contributing to the progression of cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases, these manifestations of aging also adversely affect organ function. It is crucial to understand these mechanisms and identify interventions to modulate them to promote healthy aging and prevent age-related diseases. Vitamins have emerged as potential modulators of aging beyond their traditional roles in health maintenance. There is an increasing body of evidence that hormetic effects of vitamins are responsible for activating cellular stress responses, repair mechanisms, and homeostatic processes when mild stress is induced by certain vitamins. It is evident from this dual role that vitamins play a significant role in preventing frailty, promoting resilience, and mitigating age-related cellular damage. Moreover, addressing vitamin deficiencies in the elderly could have a significant impact on slowing aging and extending life expectancy. A review of recent advances in the role of vitamins in delaying aging processes and promoting multiorgan health is presented in this article. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive framework for using vitamins as strategic tools for fostering longevity and vitality. Translational control shapes the proteome and is particularly important in regulating gene expression under stress. A key source of endothelial stress is treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), which lowers cancer mortality but increases cardiovascular mortality. Using a human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived endothelial cell (hiPSC-EC) model of sunitinib-induced vascular dysfunction combined with ribosome profiling, we assessed the role of translational control in hiPSC-ECs in response to stress. We identified staphylococcal nuclease and tudor domain-containing protein 1 (SND1) as a sunitinib-dependent translationally repressed gene. SND1 translational repression was mediated by the mTORC1/4E-BP1 pathway. SND1 inhibition led to endothelial dysfunction, whereas SND1 OE protected against sunitinib-induced endothelial dysfunction. Mechanistically, SND1 transcriptionally regulated UBE2N, an E2-conjugating enzyme that mediates K63-linked ubiquitination. UBE2N along with the E3 ligases RNF8 and RNF168 regulated the DNA damage repair response pathway to mitigate the deleterious effects of sunitinib. In silico analysis of FDA-approved drugs led to the identification of an ACE inhibitor, ramipril, that protected against sunitinib-induced vascular dysfunction in vitro and in vivo, all while preserving the efficacy of cancer therapy. Our study established a central role for translational control of SND1 in sunitinib-induced endothelial dysfunction that could potentially be therapeutically targeted to reduce sunitinib-induced vascular toxicity.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) translational control plays a pivotal role in regulating cellular proteostasis under physiological and pathological conditions. Dysregulated mRNA translation is pervasive in cancer, in which protein synthesis is elevated to support accelerated cell growth and proliferation. Consequently, targeting the mRNA translation machinery has emerged as a therapeutic strategy to treat cancer. In this perspective, we summarize the current knowledge of translation dysregulation in cancer, with emphasis on the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4F (eIF4F) complex.
