The partial raw sugarcane system (SCCP) involves the partial removal of sugarcane straw for the production of bioenergy. Our objective was to verify the possibility of increasing the longevity of the cane field in the partial cane system, based on evaluations of soil fertility, plant nutrient content, and productivity. A randomized block design was used in very clayey, Eutropheric Red Latosol, with three replications and five residual amounts of straw (0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 Mg ha−1). Land use and tillage practices may change soil structure and undermine sustainable agriculture; however, such changes are hardly identified in the short term. In this sense, agroforestry systems have been used to reduce soil degradation and promote sustainable production in coffee plantations. These areas are expected to have well-structured soils and hence improved root distribution. This study aimed to evaluate soil quality by the morphostructural and root distribution analyses comparing open-grown coffee and coffee in agroforestry systems with rubber trees for 19 years, in an Oxisol in northern Paraná State (Brazil). Treatments consisted of open-grown coffee (OG), coffee partially shaded by rubber trees (PSH), and coffee fully shaded by rubber trees (FSH). The mapping of morphostructural features and soil resistance to penetration in “cultural profile” walls identified changes in soil structure resulting from different tillage systems. Root distribution was better in coffee plants grown in PSH and FSH systems. At greater depths, cultural profiles of FSH and PSH showed a larger numbers of roots compared to OG. Among the three systems, PSH provided a better environment for root growth and distribution. This result could be attributed to the high biological activity and interaction between roots and aggregates in that profile. The FSH agroforestry system provided less compact morphological structures and more roots throughout the soil profile. The agroforestry systems presented fewer soil structural changes by tillage operations and lower values of soil penetration resistance. Coffee root distribution was an effective indicator of soil quality and consistent with the morphostructural characterization of cultural profile.

The farming practices have a direct impact in ecosystems and cause changes in the basic structures involved in the environment. Cultivated soils, after years of use, show changes in the physical, chemical and biological attributes, requiring improve production processes, with the intention of management alternatives that minimize environmental degradation and, consequently increasing the sustainability of agricultural environment. In the search for sustainable agricultural practices, it indicates the green manure, which is the use of plants in rotation or intercropped with crops of economic interest. The practice of green manure provides many improvements in chemical, physical and biological characteristics, through increases in organic matter content and microbial activity, nutrient cycling, disruptions of compacted layers, decreased erosion, incidence of pests and diseases, and suppression of weed plants. Thus, appearing to be an agricultural practice efficiently for sustainable fruit production system. In this sense, the present study aims to conduct a literature review on the benefits of green manure in fruticulture in order to improve soil quality and use in agriculture. A cana-de-açúcar (Saccharum spp.) é uma cultura semiperene de forma que, ao longo do seu cultivo, ocorrem alterações significativas na rizosfera que culminam em redução de produtividade e necessidade da reforma do canavial. Os objetivos gerais desse trabalho foram avaliar o efeito das doses de calcário e gesso nos atributos do solo, no sistema radicular, no desenvolvimento vegetativo e nos aspectos produtivos da soqueira de cana-de-açúcar, visando a recuperação da produtividade e aumento da longevidade do canavial. O experimento foi instalado em Andirá-PR, na quarta soqueira da variedade RB855453, em blocos ao acaso, com as doses C0G0, 0 Mg ha-1 de calcário dolomítico (C) e 0 Mg ha-1 de gesso (G), C0G2, C0G4, C0G8, as quais constituem 0, ½, 1 e 2NG, em que NG é a necessidade de gesso e C3G0, C6G0, sendo as doses de 1 e 2NC, sendo as doses recomendadas para elevar a saturação por bases à 60% e C3G4, a dose recomendada de calcário e gesso. Após 12 meses do corte da safra anterior e 8 meses da aplicação dos insumos, o experimento foi colhido e a produtividade de colmos, sacarose e análises da qualidade tecnológica foram determinados em cada parcela. As amostras para análises químicas foram coletadas nas profundidades 0,00-0,05, 0,05-0,10, 0,10-0,20, 0,20-0,40, 0,40-0,60, 0,60-0,80, 0,80-1,00 m, sendo analisados: pH em CaCl2, carbono orgânico (CO), acidez potencial (H+Al), fósforo disponível (P), alumínio trocável (Al3+), cálcio trocável (Ca2+), magnésio trocável (Mg2+), potássio trocável (K+), enxofre (S-SO4-2), soma de bases (SB), saturação por base (V) e saturação por alumínio (m). Amostras indeformadas (2 subamostras por profundidade), foram coletadas para a determinação da densidade do solo, macro, microporosidade e a porosidade total, nas profundidades 0,00-0,10, 0,10-0,20, 0,20-0,40, 0,40-0,60, 0,60-0,80 e 0,80-1,00 m. Foram realizadas avaliações no sistema radicular através do método do perfil. Após 20 meses da aplicação dos insumos, foram coletadas amostras para as análises químicas e amostras indeformadas, nas mesmas camadas amostradas anteriormente e realizados as avaliações no sistema radicular, para avaliação do efeito residual das aplicações dos insumos. A compactação não permitiu a reação uniforme dos insumos aplicados e não foram observadas redução da saturação de alumínio e aumento da saturação de cálcio na subsuperfície. Dessa forma, não houve alteração do sistema radicular e da produtividade de colmos e sacarose, e portanto, não foi possível postergar a reforma do canavial. Não foram observadas alterações na densidade e porosidade do solo com a aplicação das doses ao longo do período avaliado. Na superfície do solo, as doses de gesso causaram redução dos teores de potássio e magnésio. Durante o primeiro ano de avaliação, a dose associada de calcário e gesso promoveu a maior distribuição de magnésio no perfil do solo, porém na safra seguinte, essa condição não foi verificada. Sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) is a semi-perennial crop, so that throughout its cultivation, there are significant changes in the rhizosphere that culminate in reduced productivity and the need to replant sugarcane field. The overwall aims of this work were to evaluate the effect of lime and gypsum doses on soil attributes, root system, vegetative development and productive aspects of the sugarcane ratton, aiming at the recovery of productivity and increase longevity of the sugarcane field. The experiment was installed in Andirá-PR, in the fourth ratoon of the variety RB855453, in randomized blocks, with the doses C0G0, 0 Mg ha-1 of dolomitc lime (C) and 0 Mg ha-1 of gypsum (G), C0G2, C0G4, C0G8, which constitute 0, ½, 1, and 2NG, where NG is the requirement for gypsum and C3G0, C6G0, the doses of 1 and 2NC being the recommended doses to raise the base saturation at 60% and C3G4, the recommended dose of lime and gypsum. After 12 months of cutting the previous crop and 8 months of the application of the inputs, the experiment was harvested and the yield of stalks, sucrose and analyzes of the technological quality was determined in each plot. Samples for chemical analyzes were collected for the depths 0.00-0.05, 0.05-0.10, 0.10-0.20, 0.20-0.40, 0.40-0.60, 0.60-0.80, 0.80-1.00 m, and analyzed: pH in CaCl2, organic carbon (CO), potential acidity (H+Al), available phosphorus (P), exchangeable aluminum (Al3+), exchangeable calcium (Ca2+), exchangeable magnesium (Mg2+), exchangeable potassium (K+), sulphur (S-SO42-), sum of bases (SB), base saturation (V) and aluminum saturation (m). Undeformed samples (2 subsamples by depth), were collected for the determination of soil density, macro, microporous and total porosity, in the depths 0.00-0.10, 0.10-0.20, 0.20-0.40, 0.40-0.60, 0.60-0.80 and 0.80-1.00 m. Evaluations were performed in the root system using the profile method. After 20 months of the application of the inputs, samples were collected for the chemical analyzes and undeformed samples, in the same layers previously sampled and the evaluations were carried out in the root system, to evaluate the residual effect of the input applications. The compaction did not allow the uniform reaction of the applied materials and it was not observed reduction of the aluminum saturation and no increase of the saturation of calcium in the subsurface. Therefore, there was no change in the root system and productivity of stalks and sucrose, so that replant of sugarcane field could not be postponed. There were not observed changes in soil density and porosiy with the application of the doses over the evaluated period. At the soil surface, the doses of gypsum caused a decrease in potassium and magnesium contents. During the first year of evaluation, the associated dose of lime and gypsum promoted a greater distribution of magnesium in the soil profile, but in the next harvest, this condition was not verified.

O elevado custo das tradicionais matérias-primas e a sua limitada disponibilidade para a produção de biodiesel, dificultam a expansão da produção e o consumo desse biocombustível em varias partes do mundo, inclusive no Brasil. No Paraná existe a possibilidade de produzir oleaginosas de ciclo curto no periodo de entre-safra das culturas de verão e inverno nos locais onde se antecipam a semeadura do milho safrinha, e assim, complementando as matérias primas tradicionais para a produção de biodiesel. Com o objetivo de avaliar o desempenho agronômico e o crescimento de crambe e canola juncea em diferentes épocas de semeadura, focando a implantação dessa cultura entre os intervalos das safras de verão e inverno, as cultivares FMS Brilhante e Terola 25A85 foram avaliadas em três épocas de semeadura (15/05, 01/06 e 15/06/14), com dois tratamentos fitossanitários (com a aplicação do fungicida trifloxistrobina + protioconazol e testemunha, sem aplicação). Os parâmetros analisados para essas duas espécies oleaginosas foram altura de plantas, peso de mil sementes, produtividade de grãos, teor de óleo e produtividade de óleo. As épocas de semeadura tiveram influência apenas na altura de plantas para o crambe, e para a canola juncea houve efeito significativo para altura de plantas, produtividade de grãos e produtividade de óleo. A melhor época de semeadura para a canola juncea foi a primeira época de semeadura (15/05/14). A aplicação de fungicida proporcionou maior produtividade de grãos para o crambe e para a canola juncea, maior peso de mil sementes, produtividade de grãos e produtividade de óleo. Ambas as culturas não produziram de forma satisfatória, não sendo viáveis como terceira safra em Londrina-PR no ano de 2014 devido as condições climáticas, além da incidência de doença bacteriana no crambe. Em relação a avaliação do crescimento, conforme as semeaduras são tardias, menor é a duração do ciclo e a produção de biomassa. The high cost of traditional feedstock and their limited availability for biodiesel production, prevent the expansion of production and consumption of biofuels in several parts of the world, including Brazil. In Paraná there is the possibility of producing oilseed crop with short cycle period between harvests of summer and winter crops in places where they anticipate the sowing of corn, and thus complementing the traditional feedstock for biodiesel production. In order to evaluate the agronomic performance and growth of crambe and juncea canola in different sowing dates, focusing on the implementation of this culture among the intervals of summer and winter seasons, the FMS Brilhante cultivars and Terola 25A85 were evaluated in three sowing dates (05/15, 06/01 e 06/15/14), with two phytosanitary treatments (with the application of the fungicide trifloxystrobin + prothioconazole and without fungicide). The parameters analysed for these two oilseeds were plant height, thousand seed weight, grain yield, oil content and oil yield. The sowing dates had had influence only on plant height for crambe and, for juncea canola a significant effect on plant height, grain yield and oil yield. The best sowing date for juncea canola was the first sowing date (15/05). The fungicide application gave higher grain yield for crambe and for juncea canola, higher thousand seed weight, grain yield and oil yield. Both cultures did not produce satisfactorily, not being viable as a third crop in Londrina in the year of 2014 due to climatic conditions, plus the incidence of bacterial disease in crambe. Regarding the evaluation of growth, as the seedlings are delayed, the lower the duration of the cycle and biomass production.

A palhada representa um terco da energia primaria da cana-de-acucar, mas a sua utilizacao ainda e incipiente, apesar da grande potencialidade para o seu aproveitamento. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o potencial de geracao de energia eletrica da palhada de cana-de-acucar em conjunto com o bagaco, atraves de uma analise tecnico-economica. Realizou -se o dimensionamento de uma frota dedicada ao recolhimento da palhada e de uma nova planta de cogeracao, com substituicao das caldeiras e turbinas existentes, inclusive as turbinas de acionamento dos equipamentos de preparacao e extracao, em uma usina tipica do norte do Parana. Foram estimados os investimentos necessarios para a aquisicao dessa frota e da modernizacao proposta para a area industrial. Os custos do recolhimento da palhada e da geracao de energia eletrica foram calculados, bem como o preco minimo de venda da energia. Tambem foram calculados a quantidade de consumidores residenciais e os municipios que poderiam ser abastecidos por essa energia. A capacidade de exportacao e de 111,912 kWh por tonelada de cana-de-acucar, com custo da palhada no patio de bagaco da usina a R$68,08 t -1 , custo da energia-eletrica de R$125,55 MWh e preco minimo de comercializacao da energia a R$316,64 MWh. A energia eletrica exportada pode atender uma populacao de 87.946 pessoas, o que corresponde a energia consumida pela cidade onde estaria localizado o projeto e de mais seis municipios canavieiros do Norte do Parana. TechnIC-economic evaluation of sugarcane straw FOR power generation in ParanA STATE ABSTRACT: The straw represents one-third of the sugarcane’s primary energy, but its exploitation is still incipient, despite having a huge potential for its utilization. This research aimed to evaluate the potential energy generation of sugarcane residues together with the bagasse, through a technical and economic analysis. The fleet sizing dedicated to straw harvesting and a new combined heat and power plant, replacing the existing boilers and turbines, inclusive the turbines of preparation and extraction, was made in a north of Parana’s typical sugarcane mill. All the investments required were estimated in order to purchase this new fleet and proposals for the modernization of the industrial area. The straw harvesting and electrical power generation expenses were determined, as well as the energy’s minimum selling price. The residential consumers were also estimated and as well as the cities that could be supplied with this energy. The export capability is 111.912 kW per ton of cane, the straw in the plant’s stockyards R$68.08 t -1 , electrical energy cost R$125.55 MWh and the energy selling minimum price, R$316.64 MWh. The exported energy attends an 87,946 population, what corresponds to the power consumption of the city where the project takes place and over 6 sugar cane producer cities in the North of Parana. Em razão do crescente uso de bromélias no paisagismo houve a intensificação da extração dessas plantas de seu habitat, fato que tem alertado para ameaça de extinção de algumas espécies. Para que haja a preservação da biodiversidade há necessidade do desenvolvimento de métodos para a produção de mudas de baixo impacto ambiental e reduzido custo. Neste sentido, a multiplicação sexuada de bromélias é uma alternativa promissora. O objetivo deste avaliar o potencial fisiológico de sementes de Bromeliaceas de diferentes tamanhos, bem como analisar seu desempenho em condições de armazenamento distintas e, por fim, avaliar o uso de criopotetores disponíveis e seu reflexo no processo de germinação. O potencial fisiológico de sementes foi verificado por meio de três experimentos: tamanho de sementes, armazenamento e criopreservação em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. No experimento 1: Sementes de três espécies de bromélias do gênero Dyckia (D. brevifolia, D. beateae e D. excelsa) foram separadas em três lotes: pequenas, médias e grandes avaliando-se individualmente o comprimento, largura e espessura, resultando em um esquema fatorial 3x3. No experimento 2: Para o estudo de armazenamento, foram testadas três embalagens (polietileno, polipropileno e papel do tipo ‘Kraft’) e duas temperaturas (ambiente (25°C) e controlada (10°C)) em três períodos de armazenamento (30, 60 e 90 dias), para três espécies de bromélia (D. brevifolia, D. beateae e D. excelsa) resultando em um esquema fatorial 3x2x3 e as espécies testadas separadamente. No experimento 3: Para o teste de criopreservação, foram utilizados seis tratamentos com crioprotetores e mais um controle (T1 - controle; T2 – sacarose 0,4M; T3 - glicerol 2M; T4 – PVS1 (19% de glicerol, 13% de etilenoglicol, 6% de dimetil sulfóxido, 0,5M de sorbitol); T5 – PVS2 (30% de glicerol, 15% de etilenoglicol, 15% de dimetil sulfóxido e 0,4M de sacarose); T6 – PVS3 (50% de glicerol + 50% de sacarose); T7 – PVS2 com 1% de floroglucinol) e seis espécies de bromélias do gênero Dyckia (D. excelsa; D. beateae; D. dusenni; D. delicata; D. distachya; D. brevifolia) em esquema fatorial 6x7. Para os três trabalhos foram analisados: primeira e última contagem de germinação, índice de velocidade de germinação, comprimento de plântula e massa seca de plântula. Os dados submetidos à análise de variância pelo teste F (p≤0,05) e as médias comparadas pelo teste Tukey à 5% de probabilidade. O tamanho das sementes influencia o potencial fisiológico, sendo que, sementes maiores possuem maior germinação e vigor. A espécie D. brevifolia, possui sementes de melhor qualidade (97% de germinação). O armazenamento em temperatura ambiente ou controlada, por um período de 30 dias, é eficaz para manutenção do vigor de sementes de D. beateae, condicionadas tanto em embalagens de polietileno quanto de polipropileno. Para sementes de D. brevifolia, o armazenamento em embalagens de polietileno e polipropileno em ambas temperaturas (25°C e 10°C) e períodos testados apresentam alto vigor. Sementes de D. beateae e D. brevifolia apresentam maior porcentagem de germinação. A criopreservação sem utilização de crioprotetores nas sementes de D. excelsa; D. dusenni; D. delicata; D. distachya e D. brevifolia, não altera vigor. Os tratamentos com sacarose, PVS1 e PVS2, visando à conservação por tempo prolongado, são alternativas viáveis e promissoras na manutenção do vigor de sementes de D. beateae. Due to the increasing use of bromeliads in the landscaping, there has been an intensification of the extraction of these plants from their habitat, a fact that has warned of the threat of extinction of some species. For the preservation of biodiversity, there is a need to develop methods for the production of seedlings with low environmental impact and reduced cost. In this sense, the sexual multiplication of bromeliads is a promising alternative. The objective of this study is to evaluate the physiological potential of Bromeliacea seeds of different sizes, as well as to analyze their performance under different storage conditions and, finally, to evaluate the use of available cryoprotectors and their reflex in the germination process. The physiological potential of seeds was verified through three experiments: seed size, storage and cryopreservation in a completely randomized design. In experiment 1: Seeds of three species of bromeliads of the genus Dyckia (D. brevifolia, D. beateae and D. excelsa) were separated into three lots: small, medium and large, individually evaluating the length, width and thickness, resulting in a 3x3 factorial scheme. In experiment 2: For the storage study, three packages (polyethylene, polypropylene and 'Kraft' paper) and two temperatures (ambiente (25°C) and controlled (10 ° C)) were tested in three storage periods (30, 60 and 90 days), for three species of bromeliad (D. brevifolia, D. beateae and D. excelsa) resulting in a 3x2x3 factorial scheme and the species tested separately. In experiment 3: For the cryopreservation test, six treatments with cryoprotectants and one control (T1 - control; T2 - 0.4M sucrose; T3 - 2M glycerol; T4 - PVS1 (19% glycerol, 13% ethylene glycol) , 6% dimethyl sulfoxide, 0.5M sorbitol); T5 - PVS2 (30% glycerol, 15% ethylene glycol, 15% dimethyl sulfoxide and 0.4M sucrose); T6 - PVS3 (50% glycerol + 50% sucrose); T7 - PVS2 with 1% floroglucinol) and six species of bromeliads of the genus Dyckia (D. excelsa; D. beateae; D. dusenni; D. delicata; D. distachya; D. brevifolia) in scheme factorial 6x7. For the three studies were analyzed: first and last germination count, germination speed index, seedling length and seedling dry mass. The data submitted to analysis of variance by the F test (p ≤0.05) and the means compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability. The size of the seeds influences the physiological potential, and larger seeds have greater germination and vigor. The species D. brevifolia, has better quality seeds (97% of germination). Storage at room or controlled temperature, for a period of 30 days, is effective for maintaining the vigor of D. beateae seeds, conditioned in both polyethylene and polypropylene packaging. For seeds of D. brevifolia, storage in polyethylene and polypropylene packaging at both temperatures (25°C and 10°C) periods tested is highly vigorous. D. beateae and D. brevifolia seeds have a higher germination percentage. Cryopreservation without using cryoprotectants in D. excelsa seeds; D. dusenni; D. delicata; D. distachya and D. brevifolia, does not alter vigor. Treatments with sucrose, PVS1 and PVS2, aiming at long-term conservation, are viable and promising alternatives in maintaining the vigor of D. beateae seeds.

As variáveis climáticas são determinantes na produção agrícola e -viabilizam o cultivo do café em grande parte do Brasil. O plantio de espécies arbóreas associadas aos cafeeiros é uma prática bastante promissora, pois as árvores exercem proteção sobre os cafeeiros, reduzindo a radiação solar por meio de suas copas e amenizando as condições térmicas extremas. O sistema arborizado de cafeeiros destaca-se como alternativa de combate ao aquecimento global, com potencial de viabilizar a cafeicultura nas mesmas zonas de cultivo tradicionais, dependendo da intensidade do aquecimento, sem a necessidade de reduzir a área cultivada, além de possibilitar expandir a cafeicultura para áreas marginais. A proteção térmica dos cafeeiros resultante da arborização contribui tanto para proteção contra geadas em regiões mais frias como para atenuar altas temperaturas, previstas em cenários futuros do IPCC. O presente estudo foi conduzido em uma área de cafeeiros em sistema agroflorestal (SAF) com seringueiras plantadas em filas duplas com diferentes espaçamentos e comparadas com cultivo a pleno sol, em Londrina, PR. Os objetivos foram: (1) caracterizar a interferência das seringueiras sobre o microclima por meio da análise da temperatura do ar, das folhas de cafeeiros e do solo e (2) determinar os efeitos das seringueiras sobre a bioquímica de diterpenos, açúcares totais e redutores, proteína, lipídeos totais, trigonelina, cafeína, ácidos clorogênicos e ácidos carboxílicos nos frutos de cafeeiros cultivados sob seringueiras, e descrever a bebida do café empregando análise sensorial de Perfil Livre. A análise do microclima mostrou que os SAFs alteram o microclima, condicionando ambiente mais ameno aos cafeeiros. A temperatura das folhas e do solo foram melhores indicativos das alterações de microclima em comparação com a temperatura do ar medida a 2 m de altura, devido ao tamanho limitado das parcelas. Verificou-se que os cafés sombreados apresentaram uma composição indicativa de grãos imaturos, mesmo mostrando maturação visual, evidenciando a necessidade de estabelecer um ponto ideal de colheita de acordo com o nível de sombreamento. Que as safras são influenciadas pelas condições macroclimáticas e, por sua vez, o uso dos SAFs interferem no microclima de cada safra. Efeitos dos SAFs sobre as características bioquímicas e a bebida do café, comparando-se pleno sol, sombreado e filas duplas de 16 m e 22 m. As condições climáticas afetaram o café e a qualidade da bebida, destacando-se o ano de 2016 e o espaçamento das filas duplas de 16 m como o mais adequado. Climatic conditions are crucial for agricultural production and favor coffee cultivation in much of Brazil. The mitigation of microclimate conditions through the planting of tree species associated with coffee is a very promising practice, as trees exercise protection over coffee trees, mainly by reducing solar radiation through their canopy and mitigating extreme thermal conditions. The wooded system of coffee trees stands out as an alternative to fight global warming, with the potential to enable coffee growing in the same traditional growing areas depending on the intensity of the heating, without the need to reduce the cultivated area, in addition to making it possible to expand coffee growing to marginal areas. The thermal protection of coffee trees resulting from afforestation contributes both to protection against frost in colder regions and to attenuating high temperatures, foreseen in future scenarios of the IPCC. The present study was conducted in an area of coffee trees in an agroforestry system (SAF) with rubber trees planted in double rows with different spacing and compared with cultivation in full sun, in Londrina, PR, Brazil. The objectives were: (1) to characterize the microclimate by analyzing the temperature of the air, leaves and soil and (2) to analyze the biochemistry of diterpenes, total and reducing sugars, protein, total lipids, trigonelline, caffeine, chlorogenic acids and carboxylic acids in coffee fruits in different growing environments, and describe the coffee drink using Free Profile sensory analysis. The microclimate analysis showed that the SAFs altered the microclimate, conditioning a milder environment to coffee trees. The temperature of leaves and soil were better indicative of microclimate changes compared to the air temperature measured at 2 m in height, due to the limited size of the plots. Effects of the SAFs on the biochemical characteristics and the coffee drink were verified, comparing full sun, shade and double rows of 16 m and 22 m. Climatic conditions affected the coffee cycle and the quality of the drink, with the year 2016 standing out and the 16 m double row spacing being the most appropriate.

As sementes de tomate, assim como da maioria das hortaliças, têm tamanho reduzido o que facilita a microbiolização e pode estimular o investimento dos produtores rurais em bioprodutos. As bactérias Bacillus subtilis e fungos do gênero Trichoderma spp. são conhecidos pelo potencial antagonista aos fungos patogênicos e ação promotora de crescimento para as plantas. Pesquisas envolvendo a utilização de suspensões contendo esses agentes de biocontrole e os efeitos sobre o potencial fisiológico das sementes e qualidade de frutos são escassos, no entanto essenciais para a recomendação. O trabalho teve os seguintes objetivos: avaliar os efeitos da microbiolização de bioprodutos contendo Bacillus subtilis e Trichoderma spp. sobre a germinação, vigor e potencial protetivo contra Rhizoctonia solani e Sclerotinia sclerotiorum em sementes de tomate. E verificar os impactos da microbiolização das sementes e aplicação via solo de bioprodutos à base de Trichoderma spp. e Bacillus subtilis sobre a qualidade físico-química de tomates produzidos em solo argiloso e arenoso. Analisou-se a porcentagem de germinação, primeira contagem de germinação, comprimento e massa seca de plântulas e a germinação das sementes presença dos fungos patogênicos já mencionados. Além disso, foram avaliados os diâmetros transversal e longitudinal, pH, acidez titulável, sólidos solúveis e massa fresca dos tomates produzidos. A microbiolização de sementes de tomates ‘Santa Clara I 5300’ e ‘Santa Cruz Kada Paulista’ com suspensões contendo Trichoderma spp. tiveram melhor desempenho na manutenção do potencial fisiológico das sementes, além de apresentar ação antagonista aos danos causados por Rhizoctonia solani e Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. O tratamento B. subtilis + T. harzianum é eficiente contra R. solani, no entanto reduz o potencial fisiológico das sementes na ausência dos fitopatógenos. Bacillus subtilis atrasa a germinação, porém visualmente apresenta efeitos protetivos aos fitopatógenos avaliados. O tipo de solo alterou o formato, porém não influenciou a massa fresca. ‘Santa Cruz Kada Paulista’ apresenta maior sensibilidade às suspensões. Houve a redução da massa fresca e da relação SST/AT de tomates ‘Santa Cruz Kada Paulista’ quando em contato com Trichoderma spp. Tomato seeds, as well as most vegetables, are small in size, which facilitates microbiolization and can stimulate investment by rural producers in bioproducts. The work had the following objectives: to evaluate the effects of microbiolization of bioproducts containing Bacillus subtilis and Trichoderma spp. on germination, vigor and protective potential against Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in tomato seeds. And to verify the impacts of seed microbiolization and application of Trichoderma spp. and Bacillus subtilis based bioproducts via soil on the physicochemical quality of tomatoes produced in clayey and sandy soil. The germination percentage, first germination count, seedling length and dry mass and seed germination were analyzed for the presence of the aforementioned pathogenic fungi. In addition, the transversal and longitudinal diameters, pH, titratable acidity, soluble solids and fresh weight of the tomatoes produced were evaluated. The microbiolization of tomato seeds ‘Santa Clara I 5300’ and ‘Santa Cruz Kada Paulista’ with suspensions containing Trichoderma spp. had better performance in maintaining the physiological potential of the seeds, in addition to presenting an antagonistic action to the damages caused by Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Bacillus subtilis delays germination, but visually presents protective effects to the evaluated phytopathogens. The type of soil, suspensions and cultivars had an influence on the physicochemical characteristics of tomatoes. The type of soil changed the shape, but did not influence the fresh mass. ‘Santa Cruz Kada Paulista’ is more sensitive to suspensions. There was a reduction in the fresh weight and the SST/AT ratio of 'Santa Cruz Kada Paulista' tomatoes when in contact with Trichoderma spp.

O uso de modelos de produção pouco diversificados, como a sucessão soja/milho que predomina no Brasil, pode comprometer a estabilidade e a sustentabilidade do sistema produtivo. Práticas que visem aumentar a diversificação de espécies cultivadas em larga escala, como a consorciação do milho segunda safra com plantas de cobertura, são alternativas em expansão. Em função do menor potencial de produtividade do cultivo de milho na segunda safra, muitos produtores têm eliminado a adubação nitrogenada de cobertura, porém sem compreender o impacto dessa prática no milho, tanto solteiro quanto consorciado, e na soja semeada em sucessão. Porém, a interação entre o milho segunda safra consorciado com plantas de cobertura, bem como a interação com a adubação nitrogenada de cobertura ainda não estão completamente elucidadas. O objetivo foi avaliar o efeito de doses de nitrogênio no milho segunda safra cultivado solteiro e em consórcio com braquiária (Urochloa ruziziensis) ou crotalária (Crotalaria spectabilis) sobre o desempenho agronômico do cereal e da soja cultivada em sucessão. O experimento foi conduzido em Londrina/PR durante os anos 2018 e 2019, na mesma área experimental, em um Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico com textura muito argilosa, manejado em Sistema Plantio Direto há 10 anos. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi blocos completos casualizados, em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. As parcelas foram constituídas pelo cultivo do milho solteiro (cv. AG 9010 PRO), consorciado com braquiária ou com crotalária e as subparcelas pelas doses de nitrogênio aplicadas em cobertura (0, 60, 120, 180 e 240 kg ha-1) no estádio V4 e parceladas a partir da dose de 120 kg ha-1 em V4 e V8, na forma de nitrato de amônio (33% de N). No verão, em sucessão ao milho, foi cultivada a soja (cv. BRS 1003 IPRO). Foram avaliadas características fitométricas das culturas e componentes de produção e produtividade de grãos do milho e da soja. Em Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico, com elevados teores nutricionais e matéria orgânica sob condições de restrição hídrica, na ausência de adubação nitrogenada e com uso de 60 kg ha-1 de nitrogênio em cobertura, o consórcio com U. ruziziensis reduz o crescimento e o desempenho produtivo do milho. A adubação nitrogenada de cobertura no milho segunda safra em consórcio com U. ruziziensis minimiza a competição da forrageira sobre o crescimento do milho e proporciona, em doses superiores a 120 kg ha-1 de nitrogênio, desempenho produtivo similar ao cereal solteiro em SPD. O consórcio com C. spectabilis não altera o crescimento e o desempenho produtivo do milho, bem como a resposta a doses de N aplicada em cobertura em relação ao sistema de milho solteiro na segunda safra. O incremento do nitrogênio em cobertura no milho segunda safra, independentemente do sistema de cultivo, aumenta o crescimento e desempenho produtivo da soja em SPD. O milho segunda safra consorciado com braquiária proporciona maior quantidade de palhada no SPD que o milho solteiro ou consorciado com crotalária, sem reflexos no crescimento e desempenho produtivo da soja cultivada em sucessão. The use of poorly diversified production models, such as the succession of soybeans / corn that prevails in Brazil, can compromise the stability and sustainability of the production system. Practices that increase the diversification of species cultivated on a large scale, such as off-season corn intercropped with cover crops, are expanding alternatives. Due to the lower productivity potential of corn cultivation in the fall-winter, many producers have eliminated nitrogen top-dressing, but without understanding the impact of this practice on corn, both single and intercropped, and on soybean sowed in succession. However, the interaction between off-season corn intercropped with cover crops, as well as the interaction with nitrogen top-dressing fertilization is not fully elucidated yet. The objective was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen rates on off-season corn grown single and intercropped with brachiaria (Urochloa ruziziensis) or crotalaria (Crotalaria spectabilis) on the agronomic performance of cereal and soybean grown in succession. The research was carried out during the years 2018 and 2019, in the same experimental area, in a Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico with a very clayey texture, managed in a no-till system for 10 years. The experimental design used was a complete randomized blocks, in a split-plot scheme, with four replicates. The plots were constituted by the cultivation of single corn (cv. AG 9010 PRO), intercropped with brachiaria or crotalaria and the subplots by nitrogen top-dressing rates (0, 60, 120, 180 and 240 kg ha-1) at the stage V4 and parceled from the dose 120 kg ha-1 in V4 and V8, using ammonium nitrate (33% N) as source. In the summer, soybeans were grown (cv. BRS 1003 IPRO) in succession to corn. Phytometric characteristics of the crops and components of production and productivity of corn and soybeans were evaluated. In the Latossolo Vermelho distroférrico, with high nutritional contents and organic matter under water restriction conditions, in the absence of nitrogen fertilization and using 60 kg ha-1 of nitrogen top-dressing, the intercropping with U. ruziziensis reduces the growth and the productive performance of the corn. Nitrogen fertilization top-dressing in off-season corn intercropped with U. ruziziensis minimizes forage competition over corn growth and provides, in rates above 120 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, similar production performance to single cereal in no-till system. The intercropping with C. spectabilis does not alter the growth and the productive performance of the corn, as well as the response to N top-dressing rates in relation to the system of single off-season corn. The increase in nitrogen top-dressing in off-season corn, regardless of the cultivation system, increases the growth and productive performance of soybeans in no-till system. Off-season corn intercropped with brachiaria provides a greater amount of straw in the no-till system than single corn or intercropped with crotalaria, with no impact on the growth and productive performance of soybean grown in succession.

A produção de orquídeas Phalaenopsis teve um crescimento extraordinário, tornando-se a espécie mais produzida e comercializada no mundo. A adubação é fundamental para o crescimento e desenvolvimento das plantas em geral, sendo que a nutrição mineral influencia diretamente no vigor, quantidade e qualidade das flores em espécies ornamentais. Porém às exigências nutricionais dessas espécies ainda não estão bem estabelecidas. Neste contexto o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o crescimento, curva de absorção de nutrientes e determinar a influencia da concentração de cálcio em solução nutritiva na cultura da orquídea Phalaenopsis. Foram conduzidos 2 experimentos, no primeiro foi avaliado o crescimento e a curva de absorção de nutrientes, as plantas foram fertilizadas com solução nutritiva propostas por Hoagland e Arnon. Foram realizadas 12 coletas durante o período amostral, sendo avaliadas 10 plantas aleatoriamente por coleta. As coletas ocorreram em um intervalo médio de 35 dias, o que totalizou um período total de 424 dias. Foram avaliados os seguintes parâmetros fitométricos: número de folhas, largura e comprimento da maior folha, área foliar, massa seca de parte aérea e de raíz, e determinação dos teores de macronutrientes. Do substrato foram determinados o pH e a condutividade elétrica. Os parâmetros analisados foram submetidas a analise de variância a 5% de probabilidade de erro e posteriormente ajustado aos modelos, logísticos e polinomiais de primeiro, segundo e terceiro graus, utilizando o software R. No segundo experimento foi determinado a influencia da concentração de cálcio em solução nutritiva, foram avaliadas diferentes concentrações de Ca em solução nutritiva de Hoagland e Arnon constituindo 5 tratamentos, que forneceram : 0 mM, 2,5 mM, 5 mM, 7,5 mM e 10 mM de Ca. Após 24 meses foram avaliados os seguintes parâmetros fitométricos: número de folhas, largura da maior folha, comprimento da maior folha, área foliar total, massa seca de folhas, massa seca de raízes, textura das folhas, número de flores e massa seca de flores. Foram determinados os teores de macronutrientes. Do substrato foram determinados o pH e a condutividade elétrica. O delineamento foi inteiramente casualizado, com 10 repetições por tratamento, no qual um vaso contendo uma planta foi considerado uma unidade experimental As variáveis, foram submetidas a analise de variância a 5% de probabilidade de erro e posteriormente ajustadas aos modelos de Mitscherlich e polinomiais de primeiro e segundo graus pelo software estatístico R. No final do primeiro experimento, a captação de macronutrientes pelas plantas de Phalaenopsis, seguiram a ordem decrescente: K> Ca> N> Mg> P> S. O pH e a condutividade elétrica do substrato não foram alteradas durante o período experimental. No segundo experimento a fertilização com 6,25 mM de Ca apresenta efeitos positivos sobre o crescimento e desenvolvimento vegetativo e reprodutivo da orquídea Phalaenopsis sp. A deficiência em Ca resulta na redução do número de flores, o que afeta a qualidade do florescimento; e diminuição da firmeza das folhas em Phalaenopsis sp. Não é possível observar sintomas visuais de deficiência nutricional de Ca, durante todo o desenvolvimento vegetativo. A fertilização com 200 - 250 mg L-1 de Ca é recomendada. The production of Phalaenopsis orchids has grown extraordinarily, becoming the most produced and commercialized species in the world. Fertilization is essential for plant growth and development in general, and mineral nutrition directly influences the vigor, quantity and quality of flowers in ornamental species. However, the nutritional requirements of these species are not yet well established. In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate the growth, nutrient absorption curve and determine the influence of calcium concentration in nutrient solution on the culture of the Phalaenopsis orchid. Two experiments were conducted, in the first one the growth and the nutrient absorption curve were evaluated, the plants were fertilized with a nutrient solution proposed by Hoagland and Arnon. Twelve collections were carried out during the sampling period, with 10 plants being randomly evaluated per collection. The collections took place in an average interval of 35 days, which totaled a total period of 424 days. O feijão azuki (Vigna angularis (Willd.) Ohwi e Ohashi, tem se popularizado no Brasil devido a popularização da cultura asiática e devido as propriedades nutricionais e nutracêuticas que apresenta. Atualmente há apenas uma cultivar registrada no país, sendo comum a utilização de materiais crioulos e locais. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar a diversidade genética de acessos de feijão azuki pertencentes ao Banco de Germoplasma da Universidade Estadual de Londrina. Trinta e dois acessos foram avaliados com base em suas características morfológicas, e 38 molecularmente. Para avaliação das características morfo-agronômicas foi realizado a semeadura em blocos ao acaso, quatro repetições, com 28 acessos, oriundos de material crioulo da região e quatro materiais também pertencentes ao gênero Vigna. Os acessos foram caracterizados conforme descritores morfoagronômicos e molecularmente por meio do método AFLP. Para a AFLP, os acessos foram cultivados até o desenvolvimento do primeiro trifólio, o qual foi coletado e submetido à análise. A dissimilaridade genética foi estimada por meio da distância generalizada de Mahalanobis e agrupadas pelo método de UPGMA. Os dados qualitativos e quantitativos agruparam os genótipos em cinco grupos, com distâncias de 0,4 e 75 respectivamente. Os principais caracteres responsáveis pelo agrupamento dos AZP em único grupo foram: porte e hábito de crescimento, coloração da flor, da vagem no ponto de colheita e das sementes. A variável NVAG não apresentou diferenças significativas, indicando baixa relevância para diferenciação dos materiais. As características TVAG, P100 e COMPF foram as que mais contribuíram para quantificação da divergência. Apenas 38% dos fragmentos gerados pela AFLP apresentaram polimorfismo. Segundo a análise molecular o genótipo Caupi apresentou menor dissimilaridade aos genótipos AZP. Os genótipos AZP não são divergentes entre si. The azuki bean (Vigna angularis (Willd.) Ohwi and Ohashi, is of great food and cultural importance in Asian countries, while in Brazil, its consumption has been increasing due to the popularization of Asian culture, nutritional and nutraceutical properties. Currently, there is only one cultivar registered in the country, therefore, it is common the use of landraces and local materials. The objective of this work was to estimate the genetic diversity of Azuki bean accesses belonging to the Germplasm Bank of the State University of Londrina. Thirty-two accessions were morphologically evaluated, and 38 accession were evaluated based on their molecular characteristics. For the evaluation of the morpho-agronomic characteristics, field sowing was performed in randomized blocks with four replications, containing 28 accesses, originating from landraces materials from the region and four materials also belonging to the genus Vigna. The accessions were characterized according to agro-morphological descriptors and molecularly through the AFLP method. For molecular characterization, the accessions were cultivated in a greenhouse until the development of the first trefoil, which was collected and submitted to the analysis. From the obtained results, the genetic dissimilarity was estimated through the generalized distance of Mahalanobis and grouped by the UPGMA method for both analyzes. Qualitative and quantitative data grouped the genotypes into five groups, with distances of 0.4 and 75, respectively. The main traits responsible for grouping AZP in a single group were: size and growth habit, flower color, pod color at harvest point and seeds. The NVAG variable showed no significant differences, indicating low relevance for differentiation of materials. The TVAG, P100 and COMPF characteristics contributed the most to quantify the divergence.The AZP genotypes were related in a single group according to morphoagronomic analysis, and grouped with the Caupi genotype through the AFLP, differing from the other groups. The AZP genotypes are not divergent.
