Application of microcapsules in medical textile has been studied and commercially developed widely in recent years. The aim of this work was to propose an eco-friendly microencapsulation by solvent evaporation method that can contribute to the manufacture of medical textile products using microcapsules. Quillaja saponin was used as bio-sourced surfactant and ethyl acetate was used as the less toxic, non-halogenated organic solvent. The influences of saponin concentration, stirring speed during emulsification step and the volume of ethyl acetate used to saturate the aqueous phase before emulsification on the microcapsule size and morphology were investigated. The results showed that eudragit microcapsules of ibuprofen with diameter in range from 17 to 34 µm, which were suitable for medical textile applications, were successfully elaborated. The saponin concentration varied from 0.025 to 0.1 wt%. The stirring speed was changed from 700 to 600 rpm. The volume of ethyl acetate used in saturation step was 0, 8 and 12 ml. In the scope of investigation, the saponin concentration and the volume of ethyl acetate used in saturation step did affect the microcapsule size and morphology while the stirring speed did not. The saturation step really helped to reduce the formation of irregular microparticles and to narrow the size distribution, but the microcapsules became more porous, weaker and were deformed significantly by drying in the fabric treatment process.

Life skills education and career guidance for adolescents with developmental disorders are increasing concerns by society. To help children join the world and become more independent, the application of STEAM educational model has brought significant benefits in education and career guidance for children. STEAM education model helps children form life skills and develop observation skills; communicate; work in group; practice and plan. Also, STEAM education model helps children to accurately identify their own capacity, an environment of education, career fields in society, the characteristics and requirements of the profession, and current and future career needs.

STEAM education is an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses Science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and the arts. This method was first initiated in the US and in recent years it has drawn attention in the world. In developed countries, STEAM education has been applied to special education and confirmed as an alternative approach to traditional teaching. This article focus on the characteristics of students with learning disabilities and the benefits of STEAM education for these students. The article used previous research results to clarify the issue of the benefits of STEAM and how to apply this method to students with a learning disability in inclusive education. The results show that integrating STEAM in universal design for learning is an effective way to inclusive education for students with a learning disability. This method should be widely applied not only to students with normal development but also to students with learning disabilities in Vietnam to improve the quality of inclusive

Students with learning disabilities often have low academic achievement because of the cognitive disorders and impaired working memory as well as executive functions such as processing-organizing and remembering information. The development of metacognitive skills shows in the eight pillars of metacognition such as self-awareness, self-control, and selfregulation help students to recognize weaknesses and apply strategies to support them offset their cognitive deficits, by becoming more flexible and adapt to any changes. STEAM education for students via multi-faceted and multi-sensory approach to develop metacognitive skills, control and monitor how children learn while building necessary knowledge, ensuring equality in learning academic and work opportunities for all students. Thereby, improving their selfesteem, confidence and independence of students with learning disabilities, helping them cope with challenges in the future.

Fermion dark matter (FDM) production is investigated via photonphoton collision and the cross section of the FDM production is calculated in detail. Our results are evaluated at different values of the dark matter scale  and the light FDM mass.

This study investigates the impact of openness on human capital in 112 countries worldwide in 2000–2019. An two-stage least square fixed-effect model with instrumental variables is used to unravel the complicated relationship between human capital and its key determinants. The empirical results show that the impacts of openness vary greatly among different groups of countries. For example, while FDI has no effect on human capital in developed and upper-middle-income developing countries, its effect is positive in lower-middle-income countries and negative in low-income countries. Exports stimulate human capital formation in developed countries but in low-income developing countries, they act as an impediment to human capital formation. Imports have a positive effect on human capital in developing countries; however, in developed countries, the effect of imports on human capital is negative. International cooperation effectively raises the level of human capital in developed, upper-middle-income and low-income countries; however, it has no effect in lower-middle-income countries. In light of mindsponge—mindspongeconomics and the SM3D knowledge management system, the study’s findings particularly shed light on the long-term development roadmap associated with human capital and openness expansion in less developed and emerging countries in years to come.

In this study, Al-Mg alloy coatings were deposited on a C45 steel substrate by using the electric arc spray technique. The corrosion behavior of the coating was studied by electrochemical measurements and salt spray tests. The electrochemical tests were performed in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. Polarization tests indicated that the corrosion potential of the coating is significantly more negative than that of steel substrate after 240 hours of immersion. EIS measurements showed that after 24 hours of immersion, the total impedance increased with increasing the immersion time. This could be due to sealing of pores by corrosion products which hinder further penetration of the solution through the coating. Red rust spots did not appear on the surface of the coating after 1360 hours of salt spray test. The corrosion rate of the coating decreased with the increase in salt spray test time. After the salt spray test, the coating surface pitted and the cross section of the coating appeared with many long voids. In addition, XRD analysis proved that the main corrosion product was Al(OH)3. The results obtained indicated that arc thermal sprayed Al-Mg alloy coatings can reliably protect steel structures against corrosion in chloride-containing aqueous solutions.

The fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling pathway is aberrantly activated in approximately 15% to 20% of patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Currently, several FGFR kinase inhibitors are being assessed in clinical trials for patients with FGFR-altered cholangiocarcinoma. Despite evidence of initial responses and disease control, virtually all patients eventually develop acquired resistance. Thus, there is a critical need for the development of innovative therapeutic strategies to overcome acquired drug resistance. Here, we present findings from a patient with FGFR2-altered metastatic cholangiocarcinoma who enrolled in a phase II clinical trial of the FGFR inhibitor, infigratinib (BGJ398). Treatment was initially effective as demonstrated by imaging and tumor marker response; however, after 8 months on trial, the patient exhibited tumor regrowth and disease progression. Targeted sequencing of tumor DNA after disease progression revealed the FGFR2 kinase domain p.E565A and p.L617M single-nucleotide variants (SNV) hypothesized to drive acquired resistance to infigratinib. The sensitivities of these FGFR2 SNVs, which were detected post-infigratinib therapy, were extended to include clinically relevant FGFR inhibitors, including AZD4547, erdafitinib (JNJ-42756493), dovitinib, ponatinib, and TAS120, and were evaluated in vitro. Through a proteomics approach, we identified upregulation of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in cells harboring the FGFR2 p.E565A mutation and demonstrated that combination therapy strategies with FGFR and mTOR inhibitors may be used to overcome resistance to FGFR inhibition, specific to infigratinib. Collectively, these studies support the development of novel combination therapeutic strategies in addition to the next generation of FGFR inhibitors to overcome acquired resistance in patients.

Sensitivity of the FGFR2 secondary mutations to FGFR inhibitors

Neuroimaging data analysis often requires purpose-built software, which can be challenging to install and may produce different results across computing environments. Beyond being a roadblock to neuroscientists, these issues of accessibility and portability can hamper the reproducibility of neuroimaging data analysis pipelines. Here, we introduce the Neurodesk platform, which harnesses software containers to support a comprehensive and growing suite of neuroimaging software (https://www.neurodesk.org/). Neurodesk includes a browser-accessible virtual desktop environment and a command line interface, mediating access to containerized neuroimaging software libraries on various computing platforms, including personal and high-performance computers, cloud computing and Jupyter Notebooks. This community-oriented, open-source platform enables a paradigm shift for neuroimaging data analysis, allowing for accessible, flexible, fully reproducible, and portable data analysis pipelines.

To reduce the reliance on fishmeal (FM), other protein sources have been evaluated on cultured animals. In a 60-days feeding trial, marrons (Cherax cainii) were fed a FM diet and five test diets containing 100% of plant-based protein sources such as soybean, lupin and valorised animal-based proteins such as poultry-by-product, black soldier fly and tuna hydrolysate. At the end of the trial, DNA samples from marron gut and rearing water were investigated through DNA-based 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Plant-based diets increased abundance for Aeromonas, Flavobacterium and Vogesella, whereas animal and insect proteins influenced diverse bacterial groups in the gut linked to various metabolic activities. Insect meal in the water favoured the growth of Firmicutes and lactic acid bacteria, beneficial for the marron health. Aeromonas richness in the gut and reared water signified the ubiquitous nature of the genus in the environment. The higher bacterial diversity in the gut and water with PBP and BSF was further supported by qPCR quantification of the bacterial single-copy gene, rpoB. The overall results suggested that PBP and BSF can exhibit positive and influential effects on the gut and water microbial communities, hence can be used as sustainable ingredients for the crayfish aquaculture.

Purpose The health and environmental hazards associated with synthetic dyes have led to a revival of natural dyes that are non-toxic, environmentally benign and coupled with various functions. The study aims to investigate and develop the potentiality of a popular herb called Chromolaena odorata (C. odorata) as a sustainable and stable dyestuff in textiles. Design/methodology/approach Natural colorant extracted from C. odorata leaves is used to dye the worsted fabric, which is one of the premier end-use of wool in fashion, via the padding method associated with pre-, simultaneous and post-mordanting with chitosan, tannic acid and copper sulfate pentahydrate. The effects of extraction, dyeing and mordanting processes on fabric’s color strength K/S and color difference ΔECMC are investigated via International Commission on Illumination’s L*a*b* color space, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, color fastness to washing, rubbing, perspiration and light. Findings The results obtained indicate extraction with ethanol 90% with a solid/liquid ratio of 1:5 within 1 h, and coloration with a liquor ratio of 1:5 (pH 5) within 2 h under padding pressure of 0.3 MPa are the most effective for coloring worsted fabric. Practical implications The C. odorata’s application as a highly effective dyestuff possessing good colorimetric effectiveness has expanded this herb's economic potential, contributing partly to economic growth and adding value to wool in global supply chain. Originality/value C. odorata dyestuff has prevailed over other natural colorants because of its impressive color fastness against washing, rubbing, perspiration and especially color stability for pH change.
