The aim of this paper is to investigate the possibility of using two different methods together to detect more accurately and to evaluate thermal defects in the envelope of agricultural buildings. The structure of heated agricultural buildings is significantly influenced by the characteristics of the indoor environment (aggressive gaseous and liquid substances, high humidity, higher heating temperatures, etc.). In this study, research has been conducted that synergistically combines two methods for the evaluation of thermal defects, where the structure is evaluated using infrared thermography and at the same time described as a numerical model for a more detailed identification of envelope defects and thermal bridges. The study confirmed that in agricultural building structures, thermal defects are most commonly found in the areas of window lintels, ceiling and bracing structures, window and door joints, and foundation and floor joints, while the proposed combination of the two methods for assessing thermal defects in structures demonstrated superior performance in terms of accuracy and detail of results obtained compared to the standard partial use of only one of these methods.

Exceptional cognitive aging, or superaging is a recent area of research. SuperAgers are defined as persons aged at least 80 years who have youthful episodic memory. Studies are scarce and very little is known about their lifestyle and leisure activities including their engagement in physical activity, which is otherwise known to be associated with better health. The project aims to identify associations between a lifelong physically active lifestyle, objective fitness and cognitive superaging in old-old women. COSACTIW is a cross-sectional ex-post-facto study. Herewith, we present its protocol. There were 225 women aged 80-96 years tested who reported that their engagement in physical activity between the ages of 30 to 60 years was at least on the level recommended for adults by the World Health Organization, i.e. at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity per week. Episodic memory was tested with Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test, non-memory tests were Trail Making Test, Verbal fluency – animals, and Boston Naming Test – 30 item version. Several questionnaires were used to map previous and current leisure activities. Objective data were obtained with the Senior Fitness Test. We also present benchmark data from a previous Czech study of cognitively normal older persons, NANOK, to whom we will compare our sample. Specifically, we are going to use a subsample of 70 women, aged 80-94 years, who were selected from the NANOK sample using the same inclusion criteria as in COSACTIW. There were 23 (32.9%) SuperAgers among them. Our findings may offer insights into preventive strategies for successful aging and cognitive resilience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SuperAgers (SA) jsou podle definice Northwestern University SuperAging Programu osoby ve věku 80 let a starší, jejichž výkon ve volném oddáleném vybavení ve verbálním testu učení seznamu slov je stejný nebo lepší než průměr pro osoby ve věku 60 let a jejichž výkon v dalších kognitivních testech (Test Cesty - B, Verbální fluence -zvířata, Bostonský test pojmenování) není horší než -1 SD pro jejich věkovou skupinu. Kromě lepších paměťových funkcí se jejich mozek v porovnání s osobami, které nejsou SA, jeví jako anatomicky zdravější a mladší. Jedním z hlavních faktorů životního stylu podporujících somatické zdraví ve stáří a případně snižujících riziko demence je fyzická aktivita. Cílem naší studie COSACTIW bylo přispět k pochopení vztahu mezi fyzickou aktivitou a vynikajícím kognitivním stárnutím, SuperAgingem. Zkoumali jsme prevalenci SA mezi ženami ve věku 80-96 let, které ve středním věku udržovaly alespoň středně intenzivní fyzickou aktivitu a splňovaly doporučení Světové zdravotnické organizace pro pohyb. V našem souboru se pozoruhodných 47 % (106 z 225) řadí mezi SA. Překvapivě se nezdálo, že by vzdělání hrálo významnou roli při určování statusu SA (χ2 = 2.43, p= 0,119). Oproti tomu v souboru dat Národní normativní studie kognitivních determinant zdravého stárnutí (NANOK) bylo identifikováno 32,9 % (23 ze 70) žen splňujících kritéria SuperAgingu. Rozdíl v prevalenci SA v COSACTIW a NANOK je statisticky významný (χ2 (1)=4,41; p=0,036). Ačkoli u účastníků NANOK nebyla hodnocena úroveň fyzické aktivity ve středním věku, podobnost ostatních náborových strategií a kritérií pro zařazení (funkční nezávislost, bez závažných zdravotních problémů) podporuje závěr, že alespoň doporučovaná míra pohybu ve středním věku hraje podstatnou roli při podpoře kognitivního zdraví žen během stárnutí.
