Abstract Ship classification is an important technique for enhancing maritime management and security. Visible and infrared sensors are generally employed to deal with the challenging problem and improve classification performance. Herein, a two‐branch feature fusion neural network structure is proposed to classify the visible and infrared maritime vessel images simultaneously. Specifically, in this two‐branch neural network, one branch is based on a deep convolutional neural network that is used to extract the visible image features, while the other is a hybrid network structure that is a multi‐scale patch embedding network called MPANet. The sub‐network MPANet can extract fine‐ and coarse‐grained features, in which the pooling operation instead of the multi‐head attention mechanism is utilized to reduce memory consumption. When there are infrared images, it is used to extract the infrared image features, otherwise, this branch is also utilized to extract visible image features. Therefore, this dual network is suitable with or without infrared images. The experimental results on the visible and infrared spectrums (VAIS) dataset demonstrate that the introduced network achieves state‐of‐the‐art ship classification performance on visible images and paired visible and infrared ship images.

The impact of hot rolling finish temperature (HRFT) on the evolution of microstructure, texture, as well as formability—including deep drawability and bendability—of Al–Mg–Si alloy was studied in present work. The obtained results reveal that HRFT has a notable influence on the dynamic softening and dynamic precipitation behaviors during the hot rolling process of the investigated alloy. This leads to the volume fraction and number density of micro-sized Mg2Si particles increase as the increase of HRFT, those of nano-sized particles decrease, and the dislocation density decrease, in the hot-rolled sheets. These microstructural variations persist in the cold-rolled sheets, subsequently affecting the ultimate microstructure, texture, as well as formability of T4P sheets. The deep drawability improves as the HRFT rises, as indicated by the increase in normal anisotropy (r‾) and decrease in planar anisotropy (Δr). This is attributed to the weakening of texture intensity. The bendability, quantified by the minimum hemming factor (Rmin/t), deteriorates as the HRFT rises from 260 °C to 390 °C, attributed to the strengthening of P component along with the weakening of Cube component. Conversely, with the HRFT rises from 390 °C to 420 °C, the bendability improves dramatically due to the significant reduction in the average grain size. A combination of excellent deep drawability and bendability could be obtained by elevating the HRFT to 420 °C, attributed to the combined effect of weakened texture intensity and fine grains.

Abstract Background Festuca kryloviana is a significant native grass species in the Qinghai Lake region, and its low emergence rate is a primary factor limiting the successful establishment of cultivated grasslands. The region’s arid and low-rainfall climate characteristics result in reduced soil moisture content at the surface. Despite the recognized impact of water availability on plant growth, the specific role of moisture in seedling development remains not fully elucidated. This study aims to investigate the germination rate and seedling growth velocity of F. kryloviana seeds under varying moisture conditions, and to integrate physiological and transcriptomic analyses of seedlings under these conditions to reveal the mechanisms by which water influences seedling development. Results The emergence rate of F. kryloviana seedlings exhibited an initial increase followed by a decrease with increasing moisture content. The highest emergence rate, reaching 75%, was observed under 20% soil moisture conditions. By the eighth day of the experiment, the lengths of the plumules and radicles under the optimal emergence rate (full water, FW) were 21.82% and 10.87% longer, respectively, than those under closely matching the soil moisture content during the background survey (stress water, SW). The differential development of seedlings under varying moisture regimes is attributed to sugar metabolism within the seeds and the accumulation of abscisic acid (ABA). At FW conditions, enhanced sugar metabolism, which generates more energy for seedling development, is facilitated by higher activities of α-amylase, sucrose synthase, and trehalose-6-phosphate synthase compared to SW conditions. This is reflected at the transcriptomic level with upregulated expression of the α-amylase (AMY2) gene and trehalose-6-phosphate synthase (TPS6), while genes associated with ABA signaling and transduction are downregulated. Additionally, under FW conditions, the expression of genes related to the chloroplast thylakoid photosystems, such as photosystem II (PSII) and photosystem I (PSI), is upregulated, enhancing the seedlings’ light-capturing ability and photosynthetic efficiency, thereby improving their autotrophic capacity. Furthermore, FW treatment enhances the expression of the non-enzymatic antioxidant system, promoting metabolism within the seeds. In contrast, SW treatment increases the activity of the enzymatic antioxidant system, including peroxidase (POD), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT), to cope with water stress. Conclusions Our experiment systematically evaluated the impact of moisture conditions on the growth and development of F. kryloviana seedlings. Physiological and transcriptomic data collectively indicate that adequate water (20%) supply enhances seedling growth and development by reducing ABA levels and increasing α-amylase activity within seeds, thereby boosting sugar metabolism and promoting the growth of seedling, which in turn leads to an improved emergence rate. Considering water management in future cultivation practices may be a crucial strategy for enhancing the successful establishment of F. kryloviana in grassland ecosystems.

The evaluation of potential helium source rocks’ effectiveness is a core issue in the field of helium resource exploration and development. However, previous studies predominantly rely on uranium (U) and thorium (T) contents and the age of the rock for evaluating the effectiveness of potential helium source rocks, which fails to fully characterize the key factors affecting their effectiveness. Therefore, this paper takes four typical potential helium source rocks—granite, mud shale, gneisses, and bauxite, as the research object. Through the establishment of a calculation model for accumulated dissolved helium in pore water, combined with gas reservoir examples, a quantitative analysis of dissolved helium accumulation and exsolution in the pores of each potential helium source rock is carried out. This analysis aims to discuss and summarize the effectiveness of each potential helium source rock and the evaluation method for identifying effective helium source rocks. It is believed that: (1) The exsolution of dissolved helium accumulated in the pores of potential helium source rocks into free helium on a large scale under suitable conditions is the key prerequisite for identifying their effectiveness; (2) In addition to the content of U and Th elements, parameters such as large volume, suitable porosity, and water saturation, the good matching relationship of “sedimentary and burial history, gas accumulation history and tectonic evolution history”, and relatively specific helium generation ability are also the key parameters for judging the effectiveness of potential helium source rocks; (3) By establishing the calculation method of dissolved helium enrichment efficiency (ηHe), it is concluded that under similar conditions, free helium enrichment is most easily achieved in granite, followed by mud shale and bauxite, while gneiss poses the greatest difficulty.

Abstract Purpose Alcohol is implicated in epileptogenesis and seizures attack. An increasing number of studies about alcohol and epilepsy have been published. We aimed to assess research trends and hot spots in the field of alcohol and epilepsy. Patients and Methods Literature concerning alcohol and epilepsy was systemically searched through the Web of Science database. Collaborative maps were quantitatively analyzed by using the VOSviewer and CiteSpace tools. Results A total of 1578 papers about the field of alcohol and epilepsy were taken into analysis, which was written by 6840 authors from 2153 institutions in 85 countries, published in 676 journals, and cited 79 667 references from 10 750 journals. The United States was the leading country and had close ties with others. The University of Toronto was the most productive institution. Alcoholism‐clinical and experimental research was the fastest‐growing journal. Richard J. Bodnar was the author contributing the most literature. Analysis of keywords showed epilepsy, alcohol, seizures, alcohol withdrawal, and management were common themes. Conclusion The presented study conducted the first bibliometric analysis of the field of alcohol and epilepsy, which will provide insights into the latest progress, evolution paths, frontier research hot spots, and future research trends in the field.

This study takes Guanshan River Basin, a typical inflow river of the Danjiangkou Reservoir, as the research area, and the nonpoint source (NPS) pollution characteristics of nitrogen and phosphorus from 2013 to 2018 were evaluated by establishing a Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model. The pollution characteristics of heavy metals were also evaluated by combining the SWAT and simple output coefficient method. The results show that the pollutant load in Guanshan River Basin contributes significantly to the Danjiangkou Reservoir. Temporally, pollutant loads were primarily concentrated in the flood season, which had a significant positive correlation with precipitation, water yield, and sediments in the abundant period. Among them, sediments were the most important driving factor, followed by water yield. Spatially, pollutant loads were mainly concentrated downstream of the basin, where cultivated land is widespread. In this regard, it is suggested that the input of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and livestock manure in cultivated land should be controlled and soil erosion downstream of the basin should be prevented to mitigate nitrogen, phosphorus, and heavy metal pollution. This research offers a basis for the formulation and implementation of watershed management for the Danjiangkou Reservoir. HIGHLIGHTS Based on the Soil and Water Assessment Tool model, the nonpoint source (NPS) pollution features and sources of nitrogen, phosphorus, and heavy metals were analyzed and discussed.; The NPS pollution is mainly concentrated in the flood season, and sediment is the most important driving factor, followed by water yield.; The input of fertilizers and pesticides into cultivated land should be controlled, and soil erosion should be prevented in the study's high-load area.;

Abstract Background and Aims Cardiac glycosides (CGs), traditionally used for heart failure, have shown potential as anti‐cancer agents. This study aims to explore their multifaceted mechanisms in cancer cell biology using proteome integral solubility alteration (PISA), focusing on the interaction with key proteins implicated in cellular metabolism and mitochondrial function. Methods We conducted lysate‐based and intact‐cell PISA assays on cancer cells treated with CGs (Digoxin, Digitoxin, Ouabain) to analyze protein solubility changes. This was followed by mass spectrometric analysis and bioinformatics to identify differentially soluble proteins (DSPs). Molecular docking simulations were performed to predict protein‐CG interactions. Public data including gene expression changes upon CG treatment were re‐analyzed for validation. Results The PISA assays revealed CGs’ broad‐spectrum interactions, particularly affecting proteins like PKM2, ANXA2, SLC16A1, GOT2 and GLUD1. Molecular docking confirmed stable interactions between CGs and these DSPs. Re‐analysis of public data supported the impact of CGs on cancer metabolism and cell signaling pathways. Conclusion Our findings suggest that CGs could be repurposed for cancer therapy by modulating cellular processes. The PISA data provide insights into the polypharmacological effects of CGs, warranting further exploration of their mechanisms and clinical potential.

Abstract In this study, ZnCo2O4/Ag3PO4 composite catalyst was prepared by the precipitation method, and their performance in the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange (MO) was studied. The catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction, energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy, selected area electron diffraction, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and UV‐Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The results indicate that the 0.1 ZnCo2O4/Ag3PO4 composite system has good photocatalytic activity in the degradation of methyl orange. Under simulated sunlight conditions, the degradation rate can reach 94% after 30 min. The maximum reaction rate constant of 0.1 ZnCo2O4/Ag3PO4 was 0.05301 min−1, which is 3 times and 52 times the rate constant of pure Ag3PO4 and pure ZnCo2O4, respectively. In catalyst recycling experiments, 0.1 ZnCo2O4/Ag3PO4 still degraded methyl orange at a rate of 84.4% after three cycles. Trapping experiments showed that holes and superoxide radicals mostly contributed to the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange by the catalyst, while hydroxyl radicals played a partial role. The energy level structure of ZnCo2O4/Ag3PO4 is conducive to the effective separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, improving the lifespan of photogenerated charges. In the investigated catalyst series, 0.1 ZnCo2O4/Ag3PO4 demonstrated the best photocatalytic performance.

Objective: Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are known endocrine disruptors, that have been the subject of limited research regarding their impact on human lean body mass. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of PFAS exposure on lean body mass. Methods: We performed a cross-sectional data analysis involving 1022 adolescents and 3274 adults from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2011–2018, whose lean body mass was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. The lean mass index (LMI) was calculated as lean body mass dividing by the square of height. The association between PFAS and LMI was examined through a multivariate-adjusted weighted generalized linear model. Moreover, weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression models were employed to futher examine the relationship between the mixture of PFAS and LMI. Results: Regression analyses revealed an inverse correlation between PFAS exposure and LMI after adjusting for potential covariates. Adults with higher serum PFAS concentrations manifested a reduction in whole LMI (β = −0.193, 95 % confidence interval (CI): −0.325 to −0.06). Notably, this correlation was particularly significant in adult females and individuals with obesity, and it was observed across diverse anatomical regions, including lower limbs, right arm, trunk, and whole lean body mass. In adult females, the association between PFAS and whole LMI was statistically significant (β = −0.294, 95 % CI: −0.495 to −0.094), and a similar trend was found in obese individuals (β = −0.512, 95 % CI: −0.762 to −0.261). WQS regression analyses supported the results obtained from weighted linear regression analyses. Conclusions: Our study suggests that exposure to PFAS, whether individually or in combination, is associated with decreased lean body mass in specific body areas, with sex and obesity serving as major influencing factors.

Resistivity data has important applications in geophysical exploration, but the impact of electrode offsets on resistivity response characteristics remains unclear. This study aims to explore the influence of horizontal electrode offset angles and vertical offsets caused by topographical variations on the forward modeling of resistivity data. By analyzing experimental models with different measurement arrays, the paper revealed their influence laws on the buried depth of the target body and resistivity resolution. Utilizing tools like ZondRes3D, we conducted 3D resistivity forward modeling and analyzed the results in detail. It is found that horizontal electrode offsets lead to pseudo-anomalies in the apparent resistivity response, which is related to the offset angles and the number of electrodes. Under different conditions, the horizontal electrode offsets exhibit a “gradient variation” pattern. In addition, topographical variations can also cause distortions and offsets in the apparent resistivity curves and the locations of the anomaly response. Specifically, the measuring lines near the edge of the target bodies are more susceptible to these effects. Based on the comprehensive experimental results, we have drawn several conclusions regarding the impact of electrode offsets and topographical variations, including the effects of offset angles on the pseudo-anomalies, the anomalous response laws under different topographic conditions, as well as anomalous situations under specific angles. These findings provide crucial insights for interpreting resistivity data in geophysical exploration and addressing practical engineering problems, and offer guidance for optimizing measuring line layouts and post-processing terrain correction algorithms.

Artificial grasslands of F. kryloviana in the region surrounding Qinghai Lake have been observed to a decline in productivity following three years of establishment. Traditional fertilization practices, aimed at maintaining ecological balance, have predominantly focused on the application of phosphorus. However, it remains unclear whether phosphorus fertilizers offer a superior advantage over nitrogen fertilizers in sustaining productivity. Consequently, from 2017 to 2019, we conducted an experimental to assess the impact of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization on forage yield and quality. We designed with four levels of phosphorus and two levels of nitrogen, resulting in eight distinct fertilizer combinations. Our experimental findings indicate that the degradation of artificial grasslands leads to a shift in the allocation pattern of aboveground biomass. There was a respective decrease of 68.2 % and 62.5 % in the biomass proportions of stems and ears, contrasted by a greater than 200 % increase in the biomass proportion of leaves. The application of nitrogen not only elevated the total aboveground biomass but also promoted a preferential allocation of biomass to stems and leaves, consequently enhancing the forage's crude protein content. Nitrogen fertilization significantly increased aboveground biomass, and crude protein content by 63.21 %, and 6 %, respectively. Phosphorus fertilization's impact varied annually but favored the distribution of biomass to stems and ears. The net photosynthetic rate improved by over 53.12 % with fertilizer application, although the differences among treatments were not statistically significant. The balanced application of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers significantly bolstered the aboveground biomass, ear biomass, stem biomass, leaf biomass, and crude protein content in varying years by 17.25 %–209.83 %, 34.7 %–438.9 %, 25.5 %–250.2 %, 18.4 %–133.3 %, and 10.21 %–25.62 %, respectively. Our analysis revealed that nitrogen-only fertilization exhibited the most optimal fertilizer use efficiency and economic returns. In conclusion, nitrogen fertilization is crucial for sustaining the productivity and quality of F. kryloviana artificial grasslands. The local practice of 75 kg ha−1 phosphorus fertilizer is detrimental to the maintenance of productivity in F. kryloviana artificial grasslands. This study offers valuable insights into the optimization of fertilization strategies for sustainable forage production within alpine regions.

Abstract As significant evidence of ice-rich permafrost degradation due to climate warming, thermokarst lake was developing and undergoing substantial changes. Thermokarst lake was an essential ecosystem component, which significantly impacted the global carbon cycle, hydrology process and the stability of the Qinghai–Tibet Engineering Corridor. In this paper, based on Sentinel-2 (2021) and Landsat (1988–2020) images, thermokarst lakes within a 5000 m range along both sides of Qinghai–Tibet Highway were extracted to analyse the spatio-temporal variations. The results showed that the number and area of thermokarst lake in 2021 were 3965 and 4038.6 ha (1 ha = 10,000 m $$^{2}$$ 2 ), with an average size of 1.0186 ha. Small thermokarst lakes ( $$\,$$ > 10 ha) occupied for 44.92% of the whole lake area. In all sub-regions, the number of small lake far exceeds 75% of the total lake number in each sub-region. R1 sub-region (around Wudaoliang region) had the maximum number density of thermokarst lakes with 0.0071, and R6 sub-region (around Anduo region) had the minimum number density with 0.0032. Thermokarst lakes were mainly distributed within elevation range of 4300 m–5000 m a.s.l. (94.27% and 97.13% of the total number and size), on flat terrain with slopes less than 3 $$^\circ$$ ∘ (99.17% and 98.47% of the total number and surface) and in the north, south, and southeast aspects (51.98% and 50.00% of the total number and area). Thermokarst lakes were significantly developed in warm permafrost region with mean annual ground temperature (MAGT) > − 1.5 $$^\circ$$ ∘ C, accounting for 47.39% and 54.38% of the total count and coverage, respectively. From 1988 to 2020, in spite of shrinkage or even drain of small portion of thermokarst lake, there was a general expansion trend of thermokarst lake with increase in number of 195 (8.58%) and area of 1160.19 ha (41.36%), which decreased during 1988–1995 (− 702 each year and − 706.27 ha/yr) and then increased during 1995–2020 (184.96–702 each year and 360.82 ha/yr). This significant expansion was attributed to ground ice melting as rising air temperature at a rate of 0.03–0.04 $$^\circ$$ ∘ C/yr. Followed by the increasing precipitation (1.76–3.07 mm/yr) that accelerated the injection of water into lake.

ObjectiveAccording to data from several observational studies, there is a strong association between circulating inflammatory cytokines and postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), but it is not clear whether this association is causal or confounding; therefore, the main aim of the present study was to analyze whether circulating inflammatory proteins have a bidirectional relationship with PHN at the genetic inheritance level using a Mendelian randomization (MR) study.MethodsThe Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) database was used for our analysis. We gathered data on inflammation-related genetic variation from three GWASs of human cytokines. These proteins included 91 circulating inflammatory proteins, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), macrophage inflammatory protein 1b (MIP-1b), and CXC chemokine 13 (CXCL13). The PHN dataset was obtained from the FinnGen biobank analysis round 5, and consisted of 1,413 cases and 275,212 controls. We conducted a two-sample bidirectional MR study using the TwoSampleMR and MRPRESSO R packages (version R.4.3.1). Our main analytical method was inverse variance weighting (IVW), and we performed sensitivity analyses to assess heterogeneity and pleiotropy, as well as the potential influence of individual SNPs, to validate our findings.ResultsAccording to our forward analysis, five circulating inflammatory proteins were causally associated with the development of PHN: interleukin (IL)-18 was positively associated with PHN, and IL-13, fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF-19), MIP-1b, and stem cell growth factor (SCF) showed reverse causality with PHN. Conversely, we found that PHN was closely associated with 12 inflammatory cytokines, but no significant correlation was found among the other inflammatory factors. Among them, only IL-18 had a bidirectional causal relationship with PHN.ConclusionOur research advances the current understanding of the role of certain inflammatory biomarker pathways in the development of PHN. Additional verification is required to evaluate the viability of these proteins as targeted inflammatory factors for PHN-based treatments.

IntroductionBiological nitrogen fixation (BNF) plays a crucial role in nitrogen utilization in agroecosystems. Functional characteristics of plants (grasses vs. legumes) affect BNF. However, little is still known about how ecological zones and cropping patterns affect legume nitrogen fixation. This study’s objective was to assess the effects of different cropping systems on aboveground dry matter, interspecific relationships, nodulation characteristics, root conformation, soil physicochemistry, BNF, and nitrogen transfer in three ecological zones and determine the main factors affecting nitrogen derived from the atmosphere (Ndfa) and nitrogen transferred (Ntransfer).MethodsThe 15N labeling method was applied. Oats (Avena sativa L.), forage peas (Pisum sativum L.), common vetch (Vicia sativa L.), and fava beans (Vicia faba L.) were grown in monocultures and mixtures (YS: oats and forage peas; YJ: oats and common vetch; YC: oats and fava beans) in three ecological regions (HZ: Huangshui Valley; GN: Sanjiangyuan District; MY: Qilian Mountains Basin) in a split-plot design.ResultsThe results showed that mixing significantly promoted legume nodulation, optimized the configuration of the root system, increased aboveground dry matter, and enhanced nitrogen fixation in different ecological regions. The percentage of nitrogen derived from the atmosphere (%Ndfa) and percentage of nitrogen transferred (%Ntransfer) of legumes grown with different legume types and in different ecological zones were significantly different, but mixed cropping significantly increased the %Ndfa of the legumes. Factors affecting Ndfa included the cropping pattern, the ecological zone (R), the root nodule number, pH, ammonium-nitrogen, nitrate-nitrogen, microbial nitrogen mass (MBN), plant nitrogen content (N%), and aboveground dry biomass. Factors affecting Ntransfer included R, temperature, altitude, root surface area, nitrogen-fixing enzyme activity, organic matter, total soil nitrogen, MBN, and N%.DiscussionWe concluded that mixed cropping is beneficial for BNF and that mixed cropping of legumes is a sustainable and effective forage management practice on the Tibetan Plateau.

ObjectiveIn this study, we aim to provide a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of the risk prevention and control mechanism within the grid management model for community risk prevention. We emphasize the importance of thoroughly examining the risk prevention and control mechanism to enhance risk management efforts in urban communities, particularly in response to unforeseen outbreaks such as COVID-19.MethodsCase studies are widely acknowledged as one of the most effective approaches to examine governance in China. In this study, the “Yuelu Model” serves as an illustrative example to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of grid management in community risk governance. To ensure the validity of the case study, it is imperative to adhere to the principle of representativeness. The collection of case data involves a combination of primary and secondary sources, and supplementary information is obtained through follow-up investigations conducted via WeChat, telephone, and other means, thereby enhancing the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the data.ResultsOur analysis reveals significant findings regarding the impact of the grid management model, fulfilling a triple role as a “Social Safety Valve” in the management process: (1) Community stress reduction function, (2) Community alarm function, and (3) Community integration function. Furthermore, we explore the adaptability of the grid management mechanism in addressing community risks, highlighting its effectiveness and potential for broader application.DiscussionThe findings of this study suggest that: Firstly, it is crucial to establish a shared information repository among different departments on a big data platform. Secondly, a dynamic government public information internal network should be established through collaborative efforts among multiple departments. Thirdly, implementing a regular (or periodic) early warning mechanism is essential. Lastly, the establishment of a high-quality talent team for power grid management is highly recommended. Our research provides valuable insights to enhance community risk governance.

Abstract Background The first local outbreak of Delta Variant B.1.617.2 COVID-19 of China occurred in Guangzhou city, south China, in May 2021. This study analyzed the transmission chains and local cluster characteristics of this outbreak, intended to provide information support for the development and adjustment of local prevention and control strategies. Methods The transmission chains and local cluster characteristics of 161 local cases in the outbreak were described and analyzed. Incubation period, serial interval and generation time were calculated using the exact time of exposure and symptom onset date of the cases. The daily number of reported cases and the estimated generation time were used to estimate the effective reproduction number (Rt). Results We identified 7 superspreading events who had more than 5 next generation cases and their infected cases infected 70.81%(114/161) of all the cases transmission. Dining and family exposure were the main transmission routes in the outbreak, with 29.19% exposed through dining and 32.30% exposed through family places. Through further analysis of the outbreak, the estimated mean incubation period was 4.22 (95%CI: 3.66–4.94) days, the estimated mean generation time was 2.60 (95%CI: 1.96–3.11) days, and the estimated Rt was 3.29 (95%CI: 2.25–5.07). Conclusions Classification and dynamically adjusted prevention and control measures had been carried out according to analysis of transmission chains and epidemical risk levels, including promoting nucleic acid screening at different regions and different risk levels, dividing closed-off area, controlled area according to the risk of infection, raising the requirements of leaving Guangzhou. By the above control measures, Guangzhou effectively control the outbreak within 28 days without implementing a large-scale lockdown policy.

Based on the recent oil and gas discoveries and geological understandings on the ultra-deep strata of sedimentary basins, the formation and occurrence of hydrocarbons in the ultra-deep strata were investigated with respect to the processes of basin formation, hydrocarbon generation, reservoir formation and hydrocarbon accumulation, and key issues in ultra-deep oil and gas exploration were discussed. The ultra-deep strata in China underwent two extensional-convergent cycles in the Meso-Neoproterozoic Era and the Early Paleozoic Era respectively, with the tectonic-sedimentary differentiation producing the spatially adjacent source-reservoir assemblages. There are diverse large-scale carbonate reservoirs such as mound-beach, dolomite, karst fracture-vug, fractured karst and faulted zone, as well as over-pressured clastic rock and fractured bedrock reservoirs. Hydrocarbons were accumulated in multiple stages, accompanied by adjusting and finalizing in the late stage. The distribution of hydrocarbons is controlled by high-energy beach zone, regional unconformity, paleo-high and large-scale fault zone. The ultra-deep strata endow oil and gas resources as 33% of the remaining total resources, suggesting an important successive domain for hydrocarbon development in China. The large-scale pool-forming geologic units and giant hydrocarbon enrichment zones in ultra-deep strata are key and promising prospects for delivering successive discoveries. The geological conditions and enrichment zone prediction of ultra-deep oil and gas are key issues of petroleum geology.

Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the optimal frequency of dexamethasone (DEX) administration and the efficacy of DEX with aggressive warming in total hip arthroplasty (THA), which remains unclear. A total of 150 patients were treated with DEX (10 mg) once before and once or twice after surgery with or without intraoperative aggressive warming. On postoperative day 3, the dynamic visual analogue scale scores and C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels in participants administered with DEX twice after surgery were significantly lower than those who did not receive the second dose. The range of motion (ROM), postoperative fatigue based on Identity-Consequence-Fatigue Scale, average temperature at different stages, intraoperative blood loss, and postoperative drainage volume in patients who were subjected to warming were significantly higher than those who were not. The degree of satisfaction was also higher in the patients who received both second dose and warming than those who received neither. No differences in complications were observed based on the treatments. An additional dose of DEX at 48 h post-surgery has short-term advantages in terms of analgesia, anti-inflammatory effects, and accelerated rehabilitation after THA. DEX combined with aggressive warming further optimises short-term ROM and fatigue and improves the degree of satisfaction. Clinical trial was registered in the International Clinical Trial Registry, and the date of registration is 2/12/2020 (ChiCTR2000040560).

Abstract Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a traumatic condition of the central nervous system that causes paralysis of the limbs. Micro electric fields (EF) have been implicated in a novel therapeutic approach for nerve injury repair and regeneration, but the effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell-derived small extracellular vesicles that are induced by micro electric fields (EF-sEVs) stimulation on SCI remain unknown. The aim of the present study was to investigate whether EF-sEVs have therapeutic effects a rat model of SCI. EF-sEVs and normally conditioned human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells-derived small extracellular vesicles (CON-sEVs) were collected and injected intralesionally into SCI model rats to evaluate the therapeutic effects. We detect the expression of candidate long noncoding RNA metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (lncRNA-MALAT1) in EF-sEVs and CON-sEVs. The targets and downstream effectors of lncRNA-MALAT1 were investigated using luciferase reporter assays. Using both in vivo and in vitro experiments, we demonstrated that EF-sEVs increased autophagy and decreased apoptosis after SCI, which promoted the recovery of motor function. We further confirmed that the neuroprotective effects of EF-sEVs in vitro and in vivo correlated with the presence of encapsulated lncRNA-MALAT1 in sEVs. lncRNA-MALAT1 targeted miR-22-3p via sponging, reducing miR-22-3p’s suppressive effects on its target, SIRT1, and this translated into AMPK phosphorylation and increased levels of the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2. Collectively, the present study identified that the lncRNA-MALAT1 in EF-sEVs plays a neuroprotective role via the miRNA-22-3p/SIRT1/AMPK axis and offers a fresh perspective and a potential therapeutic approach using sEVs to improve SCI.

Planting density is an effective strategy for regulating both oat lodging and forage quality. To delve into the regulatory mechanisms of planting density on lodging and oat forage quality, lodging-resistant variety LENA and lodging-sensitive variety QY2 were grown in 2018 and 2019 growing seasons, and four planting densities were implemented: 2.25 × 106 plants/ha (D1), 4.5 × 106 plants/ha (D2), 6.75 × 106 plants/ha (D3), and 9 × 106 plants/ha (D4). At the milk stage, we measured the contents of potassium, calcium, magnesium, silicon, lignin, crude fiber, starch, soluble sugar, and soluble protein in the second and third stem internodes of the plants. The results revealed the lodging-resistant variety LENA demonstrated significantly higher contents of calcium, potassium, silicon, crude fiber, lignin, and lower contents of starch, soluble sugar, and soluble protein (p < 0.01). Similar trends in the physicochemical properties of stem internodes for both oat varieties with increasing planting density. Crude fiber, soluble sugar, magnesium, starch, potassium, and lignin were the key characteristics affecting the lodging coefficient, and variety and planting density affected the lodging coefficient mainly by regulating the synthesis of starch, soluble sugar, and crude fiber. At planting density D3, stem internodes exhibited higher physicochemical properties and a lower lodging coefficient, favoring oat forage production. The results offer a valuable theoretical foundation and practical reference for oat lodging-resistant cultivation.

The rising prevalence of obesity has resulted in an increased demand for innovative and effective treatment strategies. Houttuynia cordata Thunb. (H. cordata) has demonstrated promising potential in preventing obesity. However, the mechanism underlying the anti-obesity effects of H. cordata and its bioactive component, sodium houttuybonate (SH), remains unclear. Our study reveals that SH treatment promotes the browning of inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT) and prevents the obesity induced by a high-fat diet. SH significantly mitigates ferroptosis by upregulating glutathione peroxidase 4 (Gpx4) and decreasing malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, while also enhancing superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels. Furthermore, SH promotes the phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which subsequently increases the expression of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) in the iWAT. However, the effects of SH were attenuated by ML385, an Nrf2 inhibitor. Collectively, our findings suggest that SH induces iWAT browning and prevents diet-induced obesity primarily through the AMPK/NRF2/HO-1 pathway by inhibiting ferroptosis.

Background Oat is a dual-purpose cereal used for grain and forage. The demand of oat has been increasing as the understanding of the nutritional, ecological, and economic values of oat increased. However, the frequent lodging during the growing period severely affect the high yielding potential and the quality of the grain and forage of oat. Methods Therefore, we used the lodging-resistant variety LENA and the lodging-sensitive variety QY2 as materials, implementing four different planting densities: 2.25×106 plants/ha (D1), 4.5×106 plants/ha (D2), 6.75×106 plants/ha (D3), and 9×106 plants/ha (D4). At the appropriate growth and development stages, we assessed agronomic traits, mechanical characteristics, biochemical compositions, yield and its components. The study investigated the impact of planting density on the growth, lodging, and yield of oat, as well as their interrelationships. Additionally, we identified the optimal planting density to establish a robust crop structure. The research aims to contribute to the high-yield and high-quality cultivation of oat. Results We observed that with increasing planting density, plant height, grass and grain yields of both varieties first increased and then decreased; root fresh weight, stem diameter, stem wall thickness, stem puncture strength, breaking strength, compressive strength, lignin and crude fiber contents, and yield components decreased; whereas the lodging rate and lodging coefficient increased. Planting density affects lodging by regulating plant height, height of center of gravity, stem wall thickness, internode length, and root fresh weight of oat. Additionally, it can impact stem mechanical strength by modulating the synthesis of lignin and crude fiber, which in turn affecting lodging resistance. Plant height, height of center of gravity, stem wall thickness, internode length, root fresh weight, breaking strength, compressive strength, lignin and crude fiber content, single-plant weight, grain yield and 1,000-grain weight can serve as important indicators for evaluating oat stem lodging resistance. We also noted that planting density affected grain yield both directly and indirectly (by affecting lodging); high density increased lodging rate and decreased grain yield, mainly by reducing 1,000-grain weight. Nonetheless, there was no significant relationship between lodging and grass yield. As appropriate planting density can increase the yield while maintaining good lodging resistance, in this study, 4.5×106 plants/ha (D2) was found to be the best planting density for oat in terms of lodging resistance and grass and grain yield. These findings can be used as a reference for oat planting.

Abstract Changes in the habitats of species can provide insights into the impact of climate change on their habitats. Species in the genus Morina (Morinoideae) are perennial herbaceous plants that are mainly distributed in the South Asian Mountains and Eastern Mediterranean. In China, there are four species and two varieties of this genus distributed across the Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai, and Gansu provinces. This study used the optimal MaxEnt model to simulate past, current, and future potentially suitable habitats of Morina kokonorica and Morina chinensis. Seventy data of M. kokonorica occurrences and 3 of M. chinensis were used in the model to predict potentially suitable habitats. The model prediction results indicated that both M. kokonorica and M. chinensis exhibited trends of northward migration to higher latitudes and westward migration along the Himalayas to higher elevations, suggesting that the northern valleys of Hengduan Mountains and northern and eastern parts of the Himalayas were potential refugia for M. kokonorica, and the potential refugia for M. chinensis was located in the eastern part of Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau. The results of this niche analysis showed that the two species had higher levels of interspecific competition and that the environmental adaptability of M. chinensis was stronger. This research could help further understand the response pattern of Morina to environmental change, to understand the adaptability of species to the environment, and promote the protection of species.

IntroductionModern agriculture emphasizes the design of cropping systems using ecological function and production services to achieve sustainability. The functional characteristics of plants (grasses vs. legumes) affect changes in soil microbial communities that drive agroecosystem services. Information on the relationship between legume-grass mixtures and soil microorganisms in different ecological zones guides decision-making toward eco-friendly and sustainable forage production. However, it is still poorly understood how cropping patterns affect soil microbial diversity in alpine grasslands and whether this effect varies with altitude.MethodsTo fill this gap in knowledge, we conducted a field study to investigate the effects of growing oats (Avena sativa L.), forage peas (Pisum sativum L.), common cornflower (Vicia sativa L.), and fava beans (Vicia faba L.) in monocultures and mixtures on the soil microbial communities in three ecological zones of the high alpine zone.ResultsWe found that the fungal and bacterial community structure differed among the cropping patterns, particularly the community structure of the legume mixed cropping pattern was very different from that of monocropped oats. In all ecological zones, mixed cropping significantly (p < 0.05) increased the α-diversity of the soil bacteria and fungi compared to oat monoculture. The α-diversity of the soil bacteria tended to increase with increasing elevation (MY [2,513 m] < HZ [2,661 m] < GN [3,203 m]), while the opposite was true for fungi (except for the Chao1 index in HZ, which was the lowest). Mixed cropping increased the abundance of soil fungi and bacteria across ecological zones, particularly the relative abundances of Nitrospira, Nitrososphaera, Phytophthora, and Acari. Factors affecting the bacterial community structure included the cropping pattern, the ecological zone, water content, nitrate-nitrogen, nitrate reductase, and soil capacity, whereas factors affecting fungal community structure included the cropping pattern, the ecological zone, water content, pH, microbial biomass nitrogen, and catalase.DiscussionOur study highlights the variation in soil microbial communities among different in alpine ecological regions and their resilience to cropping systems. Our results also underscore that mixed legume planting is a sustainable and effective forage management practice for the Tibetan Plateau.

Grassland degradation is a prevalent issue at the interface of shrubland and grassland ecosystems, particularly susceptible to environmental changes. To counteract the degradation, grazing exclusion has been proposed as a dominant restoration strategy on the Tibetan plateau, the world's largest and highest plateau. However, the impact of degradation and subsequent restoration on the carbon dynamics consist of carbon sink / source capacity of shrub-grassland ecotones remain unclear. Therefore, in this study, using a transparent chamber (0.8 m in length × 0.8 m in width × 0.6 m in height) attached to an infrared gas analyzer, the in situ field investigation was performed to measure the gross ecosystem primary productivity (GEP), ecosystem respiration (Re), net ecosystem CO2 exchange (NEE), and environmental factors over a four-year continuous period in lightly and heavily degraded shrub-grassland ecotones during recover process on the Tibetan Plateau. Our result showed that: 1). Shrub-grassland ecotone acts as a net CO2 sink, with the maximum NEE occurring in July during the growing season. 2). Ecotone degradation diminishes the carbon sequestration capacity. Specifically, the annual GEP, Re, and NEE rates decrease by 14.1 %, 7.3 %, and 27.2 %, respectively, in the heavily degraded ecotone compared to the lightly degraded counterpart. 3). Grazing exclusion positively influenced the carbon sequestration capacity, particularly in heavily degraded ecotone, which leads to a substantial increase in the annual GEP, Re, and NEE rates of 15.4 % and 33.4 %, 12.3 % and 20.9 %, 22.25 % and 64.9 % for lightly and heavily degraded ecotones, respectively. 4). A piecewise structural equation model reveals that soil moisture and soil temperature are pivotal drivers influencing NEE. 5) Correlation analysis shows that NEE was negatively correlated with soil temperature during April to June and September to October but was positively correlated with soil temperature during July to August. In contrast, NEE displays a consistent negative correlation with soil moisture throughout the growing season. This research provides new insights on grassland degradation and restoration for carbon sequestration in alpine shrub-grassland ecotones and highlights their implications for sustainable management of alpine ecosystems.

Plant and soil C:N:P stoichiometry reflects the element content and energy flow, which are important for biogeochemical cycling in ecosystems. Although plantation age has been verified to affect leaf C:N:P stoichiometry in alfalfa plants, its effect on plant and soil C:N:P stoichiometry in grass remains poorly documented. A 10-year field experiment of Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) was used to test how plantation age affect plant and soil C:N:P stoichiometry in a perennial rhizomatous grass pasture. This study demonstrated that leaf C:N, C:P, and N:P ratios exhibited a rapid increasing trend from 2 to 6 years of age, whereas leaf C:N showed a slight decreasing trend, and leaf C:P and N:P maintained stability from 6 to 9 years of age. Stem C:N and N:P were not different among plantation ages, while stem C:P increased from 2 to 4 years of plantation age and then maintained stability from 4 to 9 years of plantation age. Root N:P showed an increasing trend from 2 to 6 years of plantation age and relative stability from 6 to 9 years of plantation age, whereas root C:N and C:P showed decreasing trends from 2 to 9 years of plantation age. Although soil C:P did not differ among nine plantation ages, soil C:N and N:P remained relatively stable from 2 to 6 years of plantation age. However, soil C:N showed a decreasing trend, while soil N:P showed an increasing trend after 6 years of plantation age. The results from an ecological stoichiometric homeostasis analysis further showed that N in the leaf, stem, and root and P in the stem had strict homeostasis, whereas P in the leaf and root showed plastic and weakly homeostatic status, respectively. These results present a pattern concerning the plantation age in relation to plant and soil C:N:P stoichiometry in a perennial grass and provide useful information for N and P management in Kentucky bluegrass pastures.

Summary: Background: Azvudine and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir are approved to treat mild-to-moderate coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in adults with a high risk for progression to severe infection. We sought to compare the antiviral effectiveness and clinical outcomes of elderly severe patients with COVID-19 receiving these two antiviral agents. Methods: In this observational study, we identified 249 elderly patients with severe COVID-19 infection who were admitted to the Second Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital from December 2022 to January 2023, including 128 azvudine recipients, 66 nirmatrelvir/ritonavir recipients and 55 patients not received antiviral treatments. We compared the cycle threshold (Ct) value dynamic change of all three groups. The primary outcome was a composite outcome of disease progression, including all-cause death, intensive care unit admission, and initiation of invasive mechanical ventilation. The outcomes of all enrolled patients were followed up from the electronic medical record system. Kaplan–Meier and Cox risk proportional regression analyses were used to compare the clinical outcomes of all three groups. To more directly compare the effectiveness of the two antiviral drugs, we performed propensity-score matching between the two antiviral groups and compared antiviral efficacy and clinical outcomes in the matched population. Findings: Among 249 patients (mean age, 91.41 years), 77 patients died during the follow-up period. When compared to patients who did not receive any antivirals, neither nirmatrelvir/ritonavir nor azvudine demonstrated a survival benefit. The Cox analysis of the all-cause death of the three groups showed that the risk of death was 0.730 (0.423–1.262) in the azvudine group 0.802 (0.435–1.480) and in the nirmatrelvir/ritonavir group compared with the non-antiviral group. After propensity score matching, we included 58 azvudine recipients and 58 nirmatrelvir/ritonavir recipients. The fitted curve of the Ct value after matching illustrated that the rate of viral decline in the early stage of nirmatrelvir/ritonavir treatment seems to surpass that of azvudine, but there was no statistical significance. Azvudine was seemly associated with a lower risk of composite outcomes (HR:1.676, 95% CI:0.805–3.488) and short-term all-cause death (HR: 1.291, 95%CI: 0.546–3.051). Interpretation: Patients who received azvudine have a similar antiviral effectiveness and survival curve trend compared to nirmatrelvir/ritonavir. In this limited series, antiviral treatment was not associated with a significant clinical benefit. This lack of clinical benefit might be attributed to potential bias. Due to the fact that high speed permanent magnet synchronous motors (HSPMSM) are direct drives instead of using gears, they have technical and economical advantages in many applications. In this paper, a 150 kW, 30,000 r/min HSPMSM was used as research object, for which a magnetic-fluid-thermal-stress multi-field coupling model was developed and solved. Motor losses were obtained from electromagnetic analysis and were applied as heat source. Subsequently, the temperature and fluid distribution were solved according to given heat source characteristics and cooling structure. Based on this, the rotor stress distribution influenced by the temperature load was further obtained. On the other hand, the effect of temperature change on conductor resistivity, permanent magnet remanence, cooling medium thermophysical properties, and loss characteristics, which in turn affect temperature and stress distribution, was considered. The bidirectional coupling of multi-fields was achieved by iterative calculations in the ''forward'' and ''reverse'' cycles. The results showed that the hotspot temperature increased by 14.19 % and the tangential stress in permanent magnet increased by 5.28 % compared to the unidirectional coupling. Finally, an experiment platform was built, and tests were conducted. The results showed that the temperature obtained by bidirectional coupling was closer to the experimental result.

Preventing eutrophication requires a deep understanding of nutrient sources and migration processes. The Guanshan River in the Danjiangkou Reservoir was selected as a typical agricultural basin. River water, sediment, and soil samples were collected to determine nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) contents and forms. Multivariate statistical analysis, buffer analysis, and extreme gradient boosting regression (XGBoost) were used to investigate the nutrient sources, the sources’ scale effects, and migration. The results showed that the exogenous sources of river nutrients were fertilizer (provided phosphate (PO4-P) and ammonium (NH4-N)), domestic wastewater (provided nitrate (NO3-N) and organic nitrogen), and natural soil and rock leaching (provided PO4-P and organic phosphorus). Fertilization within 300–1200 m and domestic wastewater discharge within 150 m of the river affected the contents of the river nutrients significantly (with R ranging between 0.40 and 0.73, p ≤ 0.01). The sediment was the N source and P sink of the overlying water. With NH4-N/PO4-P compound fertilization, the NO3-N and calcium-bound phosphorus (Ca-P) exhibited co-enrichment. Appropriately increasing NH4-N application could stimulate P biological uptake, thus inhibiting P emigration from agricultural soil under N-limited states. In conclusion, this study effectively recognized river nutrient sources and their scale impacts and also explored more effective fertilization strategies, which are beneficial for the optimized management of agricultural activities.

Elymus sibiricus plays a crucial role in ecological protection and animal husbandry. However, after many years of growth, the biomass of E. sibiricus decreases, and the plants degrade. Moreover, there is no good solution to the problem of degradation of Elymus sibiricus; the addition of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) fertilizers is the primary measure of cultivation management to improve yield, so it is crucial to find the appropriate level of fertilization. This study performed a two-factor split-plot experiment, including four levels of N (0, 45, 60, and 75 kg·hm−2) and four levels of P (0, 60, 75, and 90 kg·hm−2), to investigate the effect of N and P fertilizers on yield, yield components, and photosynthesis characteristics of E. sibiricus. The results showed that the forage yield in 2017 was higher than in 2018. The forage yield in 2017 was highest at N75P0 with a value of 29,926 kg·hm−2, and in 2018 it was highest at N45P0 and N75P0 with a value of 12,266 kg·hm−2 and 12,233 kg·hm−2, respectively, which demonstrates the large impact of year effects on the forage yield. All traits increased with the increase in N and P fertilizer application, but with excess fertilizer application, the photosynthesis was limited, leading to a slowdown in growth and a decrease in yield. In addition, under adequate N fertilization, the role of P fertilization was not significant (p > 0.05). N, P, and N × P can significantly (p < 0.05) affect the yield traits and forage yield of E. sibiricus. According to the PCA, it is clear that N fertilizer has the largest effect, and the growth capacity of degraded E. sibiricus grassland can be restored by adding 75 kg·hm−2 of nitrogen fertilizer.

Understanding the optimal extraction methods for flavonoids from Abelmoschus manihot flowers (AMF) is crucial for unlocking their potential benefits. This study aimed to optimize the efficiency of flavonoid extraction from AMF. After comparing extraction methods, the ultrasonic cell crusher demonstrated superior performance over conventional techniques. Four key factors—solid-to-liquid ratio (1:10 to 1:50 g·mL−1), ethanol concentration (55% to 95%), ultrasonic time (10 to 50 min), and ultrasonic power (5% to 25% of 900 W)—were investigated and normalized using the entropy weight method. This led to a comprehensive evaluation (CE). Optimization of extraction conditions for the ultrasonic cell crusher was achieved through response surface methodology and a deep neural network model, resulting in optimal parameters: ethanol volume fraction of 66%, solid-to-liquid ratio of 1:21 g/mL, extraction efficiency of 9%, and extraction duration of 35 min, yielding a CE value of 23.14 (RSD < 1%). Additionally, the inhibitory effects of the optimized extracts against Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans) were assessed. The results revealed that AMF extract (AMFE) exhibits inhibitory effects on S. mutans, with concomitant inhibition of sucrase and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). The MIC of AMFE against planktonic S. mutans is 3 mg/mL, with an MBC of 6 mg/mL. Within the concentration range of 1/8 MIC to 2 MIC of AMFE, the activities of sucrase and LDH decreased by 318.934 U/mg prot and 61.844 U/mg prot, respectively. The antioxidant activity of AMFE was assessed using the potassium ferricyanide reduction and phosphomolybdenum methods. Additionally, the effect of AMFE on DPPH, ABTS, and ·OH free radical scavenging abilities was determined. The concentrations at which AMFE exhibited over 90% scavenging rate for ABTS and DPPH free radicals were found to be 0.125 mg/mL and 2 mg/mL, respectively.

The geochemical characteristics and genesis of Paleozoic natural gas in the Ordos Basin are complex, with some disputes on the gas source of Lower Paleozoic. In order to better grasp the overall geochemical characteristics and variation laws of Paleozoic natural gas in the basin, the geochemical data of more than 700 natural gas samples from the whole basin are comprehensively analyzed based on the systematic collection, collation and analysis of previous data, and the genesis of natural gas is explored by combining the analysis of key elements such as natural gas formation, hydrocarbon formation and reservoir formation. The results show that the main body of Upper Paleozoic natural gas is coal-based gas controlled by maturity, with maturity increasing from northeast to southwest, and the southern part of the basin has a mixture of Upper and Lower Paleozoic gas. The Lower Paleozoic gas is dominated by oil-type gas from marine carbonate formations, of which the upper combination is characterized by a two-source composite reservoir of Upper Paleozoic coal-type gas and Lower Paleozoic oil-type gas; the middle-lower combination is a relatively independent oil-type gas reservoir, subject to different degrees of secondary transformation based on geological conditions and the degree of thermal evolution of organic matter, resulting in significant anomalies in its carbon isotope composition. The research has proved that marine hydrocarbon sources including carbonate rocks exist in the Lower Paleozoic of the basin, and the natural gas in the Upper and Lower Paleozoic has mixed to varying degrees in different locations of the basin.

Al–Cu–Mg alloy hemispherical components can be widely utilized in gyroscope navigation systems by virtue of low density, high deformability and fatigue strength. However, the nonuniformity in residual stress and microstructure of the component after deep drawing may lead to a complex microstructural evolution under the temperature environment, thereby decreasing the navigation precision. In this work, the evolution of grain sizes, dislocations, second phases and mechanical properties of Al–Cu–Mg alloy hemispherical components were evaluated under a temperature field. From the edge to the central part of the component, the grain size first decreased and then increased, while the hardness and residual stress first increased and then decreased. With the extension of exposure time, the dislocation density decreased and the coarsened Al2CuMg phases appeared, while the grain size of the component remained stable. Furthermore, the dislocation density declined faster and Al2CuMg phases precipitated rapider in the die fillet area in comparison with the situation at the bottom of the hemisphere. The higher dislocation density could provide more nucleation sites for Al2CuMg phases. Thereafter, more dislocations were consumed, thus accelerating the reduction of stored energy and lattice distortion under the temperature field. As a result, investigating the microstructural stability and mechanical properties of Al–Cu–Mg alloy hemispherical components can make a contribution to fabricating highly stabilized navigation devices to be further applied in the field of space exploration.

The pollution caused by light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) and its derivatives, known as "industrial blood", in the process of mining, production and transportation, has become a common pollutant. At present, many researchers have carried out extensive researches on LNAPL pollution, but the researches on the migration and hairiness of LNAPL in soil is still insufficient. The purpose of this test is to study and analyze the capillary rise law of LNAPL in different media under different standpipe diameters through indoor simulation tests, so as to provide a certain theoretical basis for studying the groundwater pollution caused by LNAPL. The results show that the factors influencing the height of capillary rise are, in order, the solution > medium> vertical tube diameter. The diameter of the vertical tube is not completely proportional to the maximum capillary rise height, and the influence on the capillary rise height is relatively small. The capillary rise height and capillary rise rate of water and diesel in different media are basically the same, but there are differences in specific values. The maximum capillary rise height of diesel is 40%−50% lower than that of water, and the maximum capillary rise rate of diesel is 30%−50% lower than that of water. The average particle size of sand is inversely proportional to the capillary rise height and rate. These characteristics can better reflect the capillary rise law of LNAPL in different media, which are of important significance to understand the pollution of LNAPL to groundwater and the remediation of contaminated lands.

Abstract Aim To translate and test the psychometric properties of a Chinese version scale to measure the Fear of Activity in patients with Coronary Artery Disease. Design A cross‐sectional design. Methods The translation of the scale to measure Fear of Activity in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease included three steps, forward‐back translation, expert discussion and pilot survey. The internal consistency and test–retest reliability were used to assess the reliability of the Chinese version scale of the Fear of Activity. Content, construct, criterion, and known‐group validity of the scale were also evaluated. Data Sources A total of 275 patients with Coronary Artery Disease were recruited from a university‐affiliated hospital in Guangzhou, southern China. Results The overall content validity index of the Chinese version scale of the Fear of Activity in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease was 0.90. Principal component analyses extracted four factors with a cumulative variance contribution of 57.5%. There is a strong correlation (r = 0.83) between this scale and Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia Heart. The total scores of the Chinese version scale of the Fear of Activity in female patients were higher than those in male patients with Coronary Artery Disease, indicating that the scale was able to distinguish the differences between low and high score groups. The Internal consistency and test–retest reliability coefficients of the scale were 0.74 and 0.82, respectively. Conclusion The Chinese version scale of the Fear of Activity in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease, which consists of 21 items with four dimensions, is a reliable and valid instrument to evaluate the fear of activity in patients with Coronary Artery Disease. Implications for the Profession and/or Patient Care The Chinese version scale of the Fear of Activity in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease can be used to assess the levels of fear of activity in patients with Coronary Artery Disease and explores the factors that influence fear of activity in the population. Impact This study translates and confirms the psychometric properties of the Chinese version scale of the Fear of Activity in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease in China. It is useful in both research and clinical fields to explore the fear of activity and its associated factors in patients with Coronary Artery Disease. Reporting Method The study design followed the guideline of Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology statement. Abstract Aim The anticoagulation effect of warfarin is usually evaluated by percentage of time in therapeutic range (PTTR), which is negatively correlated with the risk of warfarin adverse reactions. This study aimed to explore the effects of genetic and nongenetic factors on anticoagulation efficacy of warfarin during different therapeutic range. Methods We conducted an observational retrospective study aiming at evaluating the impact of clinical and genetic factors on PTTR from initial to more than six months treatment. This analysis included patients with heart valve replace (HVR) surgery who underwent long-term or life-long time treatment with standard-dose warfarin for anticoagulation control in Second Xiangya Hospital. All patients were followed for at least 6 months. We genotyped single nucleotide polymorphisms in VKORC1 and CYP2C9 associated with altered warfarin dose requirements and tested their associations with PTTR. Results A total of 629 patients with intact clinical data and available genotype data were enrolled in this study, and only 38.63% patients achieved good anticoagulation control (PTTR > 0.6). Clinical factors, including male gender, older age, overweight, AVR surgery and stroke history, were associated with higher PTTR. Patients with VKORC1 -1639AA genotype had significantly higher PTTR level compared with GA/GG genotype carriers only in the first month of treatment. Patients with CYP2C9*3 allele had higher PTTR compared with CYP2C9*1*1 carriers. Moreover, compared with VKORC1 -1639 AG/GG carriers, INR > 4 was more likely to be present in patients with AA genotype. The frequency of CYP2C9*1*3 in patients with INR > 4 was significantly higher than these without INR > 4. Conclusion We confirmed the relevant factors of warfarin anticoagulation control, including genetic factors (VKORC1 -1639G > A and CYP2C9*3 polymorphisms) and clinical factors (male gender, older age, overweight, AVR surgery and stroke history), which could be helpful to individualize warfarin dosage and improve warfarin anticoagulation control during different treatment period.

Abstract Background Lung cross-section is one of the emphases and challenges in sectional anatomy. Identification of the complex arrangement of intrapulmonary tubes such as bronchi, arteries, and veins in the lungs requires the spatial imagination of students. Three-dimensional (3D) printing has become increasingly used in anatomy education. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of 3D-printed specimens used for the experimental teaching of sectional anatomy. Methods A digital thoracic dataset was obtained and input into a 3D printer to print multicolor specimens of the pulmonary segment after software processing. As research subjects, 119 undergraduate students majoring in medical imaging from classes 5–8 in the second-year were chosen. In the lung cross-section experiment course, 59 students utilized 3D printed specimens in conjunction with traditional instruction as the study group, while 60 students received traditional teaching as the control group. Preclass and postclass tests, course grading, and questionnaire surveys were used to assess instructional efficacy. Results We obtained a set of pulmonary segment specimens for teaching. Nitrogen (N) addition is a simple and effective field management approach to enhancing plant productivity. Nonetheless, the regulatory mechanisms governing nitrogen concentrations and their effect on soil enzyme activity, nutrient levels, and seed yield in the Festuca kirilowii seed field have yet to be elucidated. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the effect of N fertilizer application on soil enzyme activities, soil nutrients, and seed yield of F. kirilowii Steud cv. Huanhu, the only domesticated variety in the Festuca genus of the Poaceae family, was investigated based on two-year field experiments in the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau (QTP). Results showed that N input significantly affected soil nutrients (potential of hydrogen, total nitrogen, organic matter, and total phosphorus). In addition, soil enzyme activities (urease, catalase, sucrase, and nitrate reductase) significantly increased in response to varying N concentrations, inducing changes in soil nutrient contents. Introducing N improved both seed yield and yield components (number of tillers and number of fertile tillers). These findings suggest that the introduction of different concentrations of N fertilizers can stimulate soil enzyme activity, thus hastening nutrient conversion and increasing seed yield. The exhaustive evaluation of the membership function showed that the optimal N fertilizer treatment was N4 (75 kg·hm−2) for both 2022 and 2023. This finding provides a practical recommendation for improving the seed production of F. kirilowii in QTP.

In this report, the case of a 65-year-old immunosuppressed female who presented with recurring redness and irritation in her right eye for 2 months is described. Ocular examination revealed conjunctival congestion, feather-like greyish-white corneal deep stromal infiltrate, white, floccular material sprawling from the anterior chamber angle and hypopyon. The in vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) instantly confirmed fungal keratitis, and empirical antifungal therapy was thus administered. The patient exhibited therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty, however, due to the progression of infection and the lack of identified pathogens. The fungal isolate was identified as Corynespora cassiicola by metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of the host cornea. The patient responded well to intensive conservative therapy and subsequent surgical therapy. To our knowledge, this case represents the first case of C. cassiicola infection from China, highlighting the emergence of a rare fungus that causes keratitis. Furthermore, mNGS has the capability to facilitate prompt identification and timely management of challenging ocular infections that are difficult to diagnose.

The Low utilization and high cost of platinum counter electrode (CE) in the application of dye-sensitized solar cells has limited its large-scale manufacturing in the industry. Herein, a facile pyrolysis combination of Pt and SBA-15 molecular sieve (MS) formed 1.6–1.9 times higher amount and 2–3 times reduced dimension of Pt distributed within porous structure of SBA-15. The composite CE with 20 % of SBA-15 exhibited an enhanced power conversion efficiency of 9.31 %, exceeding that of absolute Pt CE (7.57 %). This superior performance owed to the promoted oxidation-reduction rate of I3−/I− pairs at the CE interface and the increased conductivity of CE materials attributed from well distributed Pt particles. This work has demonstrated the significance of utilizing porous molecular sieves for dispersing catalytic sites when designing a novel type of counter electrode and their application in DSSCs.

Abstract：: Influence of initial grain size on the formation of bimodal-grained microstructure and mechanical properties of a Mg-11Gd-3Y-0.5Nd–Zr alloy was investigated. The results indicate that the fraction of unrecrystallized (un-DRXed) grains in bimodal-grained microstructure was governed by the initial grain size, and the fraction increases with the increasing of initial grain size. Formation of un-DRXed grains in samples with a small initial grain size is induced by the uneven distribution of grain size, in which coarser grains is more difficult to recrystallize. However, the recrystallization behavior in samples with large initial grain size is mainly affected by the difference in orientation among grains, and grains with orientation that are not favored for slip are difficult to recrystallize. The strength increases while the elongation decreases with the increasing of initial grain size. The sample with the highest initial grain size (178 μm) accordingly shows the best ultimate tensile strength of 459 MPa. The higher strength is mainly due to the higher texture strengthening and hetero-deformation induced (HDI) strengthening provided by higher fraction of un-DRXed grains.

Abstract With a long epidemic history and a large number of dengue cases, Guangzhou is a key city for controlling dengue in China. The demographic information regarding dengue cases, and the genomic characteristics of the envelope gene of dengue viruses, as well as the associations between these factors were investigated from 2010 to 2019, to improve the understanding of the epidemiology of dengue in Guangzhou. Demographic data on 44,385 dengue cases reported to the Notifiable Infectious Disease Report System were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics v. 20. Dengue virus isolates from patient sera were sequenced, and phylogenetic trees were constructed using PhyML 3.1. There was no statistical difference in the risk of dengue infection between males and females. Unlike other areas in which dengue is endemic, the infection risk in Guangzhou increased with age. Surveillance identified four serotypes responsible for dengue infections in Guangzhou. Serotype 1 remained prevalent for most of the study period, whereas serotypes 3 and 4 were prevalent in 2012 and 2010, respectively. Different serotypes underwent genotype and sublineage shifts. The epidemiological characteristics and phylogeny of dengue in Guangzhou suggested that although it has circulated in Guangzhou for decades, it has not been endemic in Guangzhou. Meanwhile, shifts in genotypes, rather than in serotypes, might have caused dengue epidemics in Guangzhou.

The deep shale of the Wufeng–Longmaxi Formation in the southern Sichuan Basin has high gas potential. The development characteristics of lamination could significantly impact reservoir property. Samples were investigated using microscopic observation, element analysis, organic petrology analysis, mineralogy analysis, and pore structure analysis to determine the types of laminae and laminasets, clarify the formation conditions of argillaceous lamina and silty lamina as well as their relationships with the sedimentary environment, and explore the influence of laminae on shale reservoir property. Results indicate that the Wufeng Formation shale exhibits weak development of laminae due to bioturbation, while the Longmaxi Formation shale develops continuous, parallel, and plate-like laminae. Compared with light silty lamina-rich shale, dark argillaceous lamina-rich shale usually develops in an anoxic reduction environment, with higher total organic carbon content, porosity, pore volume, specific surface area, and more developed organic matter pores, which can provide greater space for shale gas adsorption and storage. Shales in the middle section of the Longmaxi Formation are characterized by the development of silty-argillaceous interbedded type laminaset, which have good reservoir performance, making them the primary target for deep shale gas exploration and development.

IntroductionInformation on the relationship between soil quality and forage yield of legume-grass mixtures in different ecological regions can guide decision-making to achieve eco-friendly and sustainable pasture production. This study’s objective was to assess the effects of different cropping systems on soil physical properties, nitrogen fractions, enzyme activities, and forage yield and determine suitable legume-grass mixtures for different ecoregions.MethodsOats (Avena sativa L.), forage peas (Pisum sativum L.), common vetch (Vicia sativa L.), and fava beans (Vicia faba L.) were grown in monocultures and mixtures (YS: oats and forage peas; YJ: oats and common vetch; YC: oats and fava beans) in three ecological regions (HZ: Huangshui Valley; GN: Sanjiangyuan District; MY: Qilian Mountains Basin) in a split-plot design.ResultsThe results showed that the forage yield decreased with increasing altitude, with an order of GN (3203 m a.s.l.; YH 8.89 t·ha-1) < HZ (2661 m; YH 9.38 t·ha-1) < MY (2513m; YH 9.78 t·ha-1). Meanwhile, the forage yield was higher for mixed crops than for single crops in all ecological regions. In the 0-10 cm soil layer, the contents of total nitrogen (TN), microbial biomass nitrogen (MBN), soil organic matter (SOM), soluble organic nitrogen (SON), urease (UE), nitrate reductase (NR), sucrase (SC), and bacterial community alpha diversity, as well as relative abundance of dominant bacteria, were higher for mixed crops than for oats unicast. In addition, soil physical properties, nitrogen fractions, and enzyme activities varied in a wider range in the 0-10 cm soil layer than in the 10-20 cm layer, with larger values in the surface layer than in the subsurface layer. MBN, SON, UE, SC and catalase (CAT) were significantly and positively correlated with forage yield (P < 0.05). Ammonium nitrogen (ANN), nitrate nitrogen (NN), SOM and cropping systems (R) were significantly and positively correlated with Shannon and bacterial community (P < 0.05). The highest yields in the three ecological regions were 13.00 t·ha-1 for YS in MY, 10.59 t·ha-1 for YC in GN, and 10.63 t·ha-1 for YS in HZ.DiscussionWe recommend planting oats and forage peas in the Qilian Mountains Basin, oats and fava beans in the Sanjiangyuan District, and oats and forage peas in Huangshui valley. Our results provide new insights into eco-friendly, sustainable, and cost-effective forage production in the Qinghai Alpine Region in China.

Abscisic acid (ABA) is a phytohormone that plays an important role in plant growth and development. Meanwhile, ABA also plays a key role in the plant response to abiotic stressors such as drought and high salinity. The pyrabactin resistance 1-like (PYR/PYL) protein family of ABA receptors is involved in the initial step of ABA signal transduction. However, no systematic studies of the PYL family in “Avena sativa, a genus Avena in the grass family Poaceae,” have been conducted to date. Thus, in this study, we performed a genome-wide screening to identify PYL genes in oat and characterized their responses to drought stress. A total of 12 AsPYL genes distributed on nine chromosomes were identified. The phylogenetic analysis divided these AsPYLs into three subfamilies, based on structural and functional similarities. Gene and motif structure analysis of AsPYLs revealed that members of each subfamily share similar gene and motif structure. Segmental duplication appears to be the driving force for the expansion of PYLs, Furthermore, stress-responsive AsPYLs were detected through RNA-seq analysis. The qRT-PCR analysis of 10 AsPYL genes under drought, salt, and ABA stress revealed that AsPYL genes play an important role in stress response. These data provide a reference for further studies on the oat PYL gene family and its function.

To incorporate 3D-printed concrete (3DPC) for modular construction of large-scale building and infrastructure, it is important to develop interlocks firmly connecting adjacent 3DPC modules and providing sufficient shear resistance to prevent inter-segment slippage. To develop guidelines for design and testing of 3DPC shear key interlocks, this paper proposes a fabrication method of such interlocks and studies various designs of 3DPC shear keys through push-off tests and slant shear tests for specimens with different shear key angles and shear joint inclinations. The experimental study focuses on the effect of these geometrical parameters on joint capacities and failure processes. The tests results showed that a smaller shear key angle slightly improved the shear capacity. The normalized shear stress of 3DPC shear keys was similar or slightly lower than precast concrete shear keys whereas shear capacity equations in the literature significantly underestimated the shear strength of 3DPC shear keys.

Gypsum/salt beds are widely developed in petroliferous basins across the world. Most basins with gypsum/salt beds have been proven to host abundant hydrocarbon resources. Previous studies on the effects of gypsum/salt beds on hydrocarbon reservoirs primarily focused on their excellent sealing property as cap rocks. However, an increasing number of exploration discoveries have shown that gypsum/salt beds have the potential to promote the formation of high-quality source rocks and hydrocarbon reservoirs. Gypsum/salt beds influence the generation, preservation and accumulation of hydrocarbons. Based on the systematic analysis of the generation of hydrocarbons in global gypsum/salt-bearing sequences, the study discussed the control of gypsum/salt beds on play elements, and explore the relationship between the development of gypsum/salt beds and global large- and medium-scale hydrocarbon reservoirs. Furthermore, we analyzed the correlation between typical gypsum/salt-bearing sequences and their hydrocarbon generation potentials in China. In-depth analysis shows three patterns in terms of the spatial superimposition of gypsum/salt beds and source rocks, that is, post-salt pattern, inter-salt pattern and pre-salt pattern. Among others, the source rocks of the inter-salt pattern are widely developed in salt basins and of great potential for hydrocarbon exploration.

Abstract Background Glycolysis metabolism is an attractive target for cancer therapy. Reprogramming metabolic pathways could improve the ability of metabolic inhibitors to suppress cancers with limited treatment options. The ubiquitin–proteasome system facilitates the turnover of most intracellular proteins with E3 ligase conferring the target selection and specificity. Ubiquitin protein ligase E3 component N-recognin 7 (UBR7), among the least studied E3 ligases, recognizes its substrate through a plant homeodomain (PHD) finger. Here, we bring into focus on its suppressive role in glycolysis and HCC tumorigenesis, dependent on its E3 ubiquitin ligase activity toward monoubiquitination of histone H2B at lysine 120 (H2BK120ub). Methods In this study, we carried out high-throughput RNAi screening to identify epigenetic candidates in regulating lactic acid and investigated its possible roles in HCC progression. Results UBR7 loss promotes HCC tumorigenesis both in vitro and in vivo. UBR7 inhibits glycolysis by indirectly suppressing HK2 expression, a downstream target of Nrf2/Bach1 axis. Mechanically, UBR7 regulates H2BK120ub to bind to Keap1 promoter through H2BK120ub monoubiquitination, thereby modulating Keap1 expression and downstream Nrf2/Bach1/HK2 signaling. Pharmaceutical and genetic inhibition of glycolytic enzymes attenuate the promoting effect of UBR7 deficiency on tumor growth. In addition, methyltransferase ALKBH5, downregulated in HCC, regulated UBR7 expression in an m6A-dependent manner. Conclusions These results collectively establish UBR7 as a critical negative regulator of aerobic glycolysis and HCC tumorigenesis through regulation of the Keap1/Nrf2/Bach1/HK2 axis, providing a potential clinical and therapeutic target for the HCC treatment.

Abstract Accumulating evidence suggests that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are deregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and play a role in the pathogenesis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the current understanding of the role of lncRNAs in NAFLD-associated HCC is limited. In this study, transcriptomic profiling analysis of three paired human liver samples from patients with NAFLD-driven HCC and adjacent samples showed that LINC01468 expression was significantly upregulated. In vitro and in vivo gain- and loss-of-function experiments showed that LINC01468 promotes the proliferation of HCC cells through lipogenesis. Mechanistically, LINC01468 binds SHIP2 and promotes cullin 4 A (CUL4A)-linked ubiquitin degradation, thereby activating the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, resulting in the promotion of de novo lipid biosynthesis and HCC progression. Importantly, the SHIP2 inhibitor reversed the sorafenib resistance induced by LINC01468 overexpression. Moreover, ALKBH5-mediated N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification led to stabilization and upregulation of LINC01468 RNA. Taken together, the findings indicated a novel mechanism by which LINC01468-mediated lipogenesis promotes HCC progression through CUL4A-linked degradation of SHIP2. LINC01468 acts as a driver of HCC progression from NAFLD, highlights the potential of the LINC01468-SHIP2 axis as a therapeutic target for HCC.

Abstract Background Chemoresistance is a major factor contributing to the poor prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer, and cancer stemness is one of the most crucial factors associated with chemoresistance and a very promising direction for cancer treatment. However, the exact molecular mechanisms of cancer stemness have not been completely elucidated. Methods m6A-RNA immunoprecipitation and sequencing were used to screen m6A-related mRNAs and lncRNAs. qRT-PCR and FISH were utilized to analyse DDIT4-AS1 expression. Spheroid formation, colony formation, Western blot and flow cytometry assays were performed to analyse the cancer stemness and chemosensitivity of PDAC cells. Xenograft experiments were conducted to analyse the tumour formation ratio and growth in vivo. RNA sequencing, Western blot and bioinformatics analyses were used to identify the downstream pathway of DDIT4-AS1. IP, RIP and RNA pulldown assays were performed to test the interaction between DDIT4-AS1, DDIT4 and UPF1. Patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mouse models were generated to evaluate chemosensitivities to GEM. Results DDIT4-AS1 was identified as one of the downstream targets of ALKBH5, and recruitment of HuR onto m6A-modified sites is essential for DDIT4-AS1 stabilization. DDIT4-AS1 was upregulated in PDAC and positively correlated with a poor prognosis. DDIT4-AS1 silencing inhibited stemness and enhanced chemosensitivity to GEM (Gemcitabine). Mechanistically, DDIT4-AS1 promoted the phosphorylation of UPF1 by preventing the binding of SMG5 and PP2A to UPF1, which decreased the stability of the DDIT4 mRNA and activated the mTOR pathway. Furthermore, suppression of DDIT4-AS1 in a PDX-derived model enhanced the antitumour effects of GEM on PDAC. Conclusions The ALKBH5-mediated m6A modification led to DDIT4-AS1 overexpression in PDAC, and DDIT-AS1 increased cancer stemness and suppressed chemosensitivity to GEM by destabilizing DDIT4 and activating the mTOR pathway. Approaches targeting DDIT4-AS1 and its pathway may be an effective strategy for the treatment of chemoresistance in PDAC.
