We have conducted Q-band (30 GHz $-$ 50 GHz) line survey observations toward a carbon-chain emission peak in the Serpens South cluster-forming region with the extended Q-band (eQ) receiver installed on the Nobeyama 45 m radio telescope. Approximately 180 lines have been detected including tentative detection, and these lines are attributed to 52 molecules including isotopologues. It has been found that this position is rich in carbon-chain species as much as Cyanopolyyne Peak in Taurus Molecular Cloud-1 (TMC-1 CP), suggesting chemical youth. Not only carbon-chain species, but several complex organic molecules (CH$_3$OH, CH$_3$CHO, HCCCHO, CH$_3$CN, and tentatively C$_2$H$_3$CN) have also been detected, which is similar to the chemical complexity found in evolved prestellar cores. The HDCS/H$_2$CS ratio has been derived to be $11.3 \pm 0.5$ %, and this value is similar to the prestellar core L1544. The chemically young features that are similar to the less-dense starless core TMC-1 CP ($10^4$ cm$^{-3}$ $-$ $10^5$ cm$^{-3}$) and chemically evolved characters which resemble the dense prestellar core L1544 ($\sim 10^6$ cm$^{-3}$) mean that the clump including the observed position is a pre-cluster clump without any current star formation activity., Comment: Accepted for publication in Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan (PASJ), 32 pages, 9 figures, 6 tables

Accurate taxi-demand prediction is essential for optimizing taxi operations and enhancing urban transportation services. However, using customers' data in these systems raises significant privacy and security concerns. Traditional federated learning addresses some privacy issues by enabling model training without direct data exchange but often struggles with accuracy due to varying data distributions across different regions or service providers. In this paper, we propose CC-Net: a novel approach using collaborative learning enhanced with contrastive learning for taxi-demand prediction. Our method ensures high performance by enabling multiple parties to collaboratively train a demand-prediction model through hierarchical federated learning. In this approach, similar parties are clustered together, and federated learning is applied within each cluster. The similarity is defined without data exchange, ensuring privacy and security. We evaluated our approach using real-world data from five taxi service providers in Japan over fourteen months. The results demonstrate that CC-Net maintains the privacy of customers' data while improving prediction accuracy by at least 2.2% compared to existing techniques.

We report on the development and commissioning of a new Q-band receiver for the Nobeyama 45-m telescope, covering 30--50 GHz with a receiver noise temperature of about 15 K. We name it eQ (extended Q-band) receiver. The system noise temperatures for observations are measured to be $\sim$ 30 K at 33 GHz and $\sim$ 75 K at 45 GHz. The Half-Power-Beam-Width (HPBW) is around 38\arcsec at 43 GHz. To enhance the observation capability, we tested the smoothed bandpass calibration technique and demonstrated the observation time can be significantly reduced compared to the standard position switch technique. The wide-bandwidth capability of this receiver provides precise determination of rest frequencies for molecular transitions with an accuracy of a few kHz through simultaneous observations of multiple transitions. Particularly, we determined the rest frequency of SO ($J_N$ = $1_0$--$0_1$) to be 30.001542 GHz, along with the rest frequency of CCS ($J_N$ = $4_3$--$3_2$) being 45.379033 GHz, adopting CCS ($J_N$ = $3_2$--$2_1$) at 33.751370 GHz as a reference line. The SO profile shows a double peak shape at the Cyanopolyyne Peak (CP) position of the Taurus Molecular Cloud-1 (TMC-1). The SO peaks coincide well with the CCS sub-components located near the outer parts of the TMC-1 filament. We interpret that the gravitational infall of TMC-1 generates shocks which enhance the SO abundance. The TMC-1 map shows that carbon-chain molecules are more abundant in the southern part of the filament, whereas SO is more abundant in the northern part. The eQ's excellent sensitivity allowed us to detect faint CO ($J$ = 1--0) spectra from the high-redshift object at a redshift of 2.442. We conjecture dualities among branes that consist of Neveu-Schwarz sector fields, such as NS5-branes. Two branes are dual after compactifications on spheres with gauge fluxes. The conjecture follows from simple considerations on string worldsheet theories. For some NS5-branes, we get level-rank dualities of Chern-Simons theories. Application of the dualities to a newly found brane in heterotic string theory reveals surprising properties of the worldvolume theory on it, for which we give evidence from anomaly inflow., Comment: 2 pages

We discuss some topological constraints on Type IIB string theory that cannot be described by elementary characteristic classes. Anomaly cancellation of the worldvolume theory of a D3-brane requires a shifted Dirac quantization condition of the Ramond-Ramond 5-form flux. However, the required shift is sometimes inconsistent depending on the topology of spacetime backgrounds. The obstruction to the existence of a shifted quantization is described by a degree-6 cohomology class whose definition involves spin structure of spacetime manifolds. The cohomology class is interpreted as a background D3-charge, and the Gauss law constraint requires inclusion of additional D3-branes to cancel it., Comment: 53 pages

Results of the long-term monitoring observations of the 6.7 GHz Class II methanol masers associated with the four high-mass star-forming regions by Hitachi 32-m radio telescope are presented. We detected periodic flux variability in G06.795-0.257, G10.472+0.027, G12.209-0.102, and G13.657-0.599 with the periods of 968, 1624, 1272, and 1266 d, respectively, although the detected period is tentative due to the short monitoring term relative to the estimated period. The facts that the flux variation patterns show the symmetric sine curves and that the luminosities of the central protostar and periods of maser flux variation are consistent with the expected period-luminosity (PL) relation suggest that the mechanisms of maser flux variability of G10.472+0.027 and G12.209-0.102 can be explained by protostellar pulsation instability. From the PL relation, central stars of these two sources are expected to be very high-mass protostars with a mass of 40 M and to have the mass accretion rate of 2*10-2 M yr-1. On the other hand, G06.795-0.257 and G13.657-0.599 have the intermittent variation patterns and have luminosities that are an order of magnitude smaller than those expected from PL relation, suggesting variation mechanisms of these sources originated from binary system. We proposed a GAN-based method to generate a ship hull form. Unlike mathematical hull forms that require geometrical parameters to generate ship hull forms, the proposed method requires desirable ship performance parameters, i.e., the drag coefficient and tonnage. The requirements of ship owners are generally focused on the ship performance and not the geometry itself. Hence, the proposed model is useful for obtaining the ship hull form based on an owner's requirements. The GAN model was trained using a ship hull form dataset generated using the generalized Wigley hull form. The proposed method was evaluated through numerical experiments and successfully generated ship data with small errors.

A machine learning method was applied to solve an inverse airfoil design problem. A conditional VAE-WGAN-gp model, which couples the conditional variational autoencoder (VAE) and Wasserstein generative adversarial network with gradient penalty (WGAN-gp), is proposed for an airfoil generation method, and then it is compared with the WGAN-gp and VAE models. The VAEGAN model couples the VAE and GAN models, which enables feature extraction in the GAN models. In airfoil generation tasks, to generate airfoil shapes that satisfy lift coefficient requirements, it is known that VAE outperforms WGAN-gp with respect to the accuracy of the reproduction of the lift coefficient, whereas GAN outperforms VAE with respect to the smoothness and variations of generated shapes. In this study, VAE-WGAN-gp demonstrated a good performance in all three aspects. Latent distribution was also studied to compare the feature extraction ability of the proposed method.

The growing demand for ride-hailing services has led to an increasing need for accurate taxi demand prediction. Existing systems are limited to specific regions, lacking generalizability to unseen areas. This paper presents a novel taxi demand forecasting system that leverages a graph neural network to capture spatial dependencies and patterns in urban environments. Additionally, the proposed system employs a region-neutral approach, enabling it to train a model that can be applied to any region, including unseen regions. To achieve this, the framework incorporates the power of Variational Autoencoder to disentangle the input features into region-specific and region-neutral components. The region-neutral features facilitate cross-region taxi demand predictions, allowing the model to generalize well across different urban areas. The nearby radio galaxy M87 offers a unique opportunity to explore the connections between the central supermassive black hole and relativistic jets. Previous studies of the inner region of M87 revealed a wide opening angle for the jet originating near the black hole. The Event Horizon Telescope resolved the central radio source and found an asymmetric ring structure consistent with expectations from General Relativity. With a baseline of 17 years of observations, there was a shift in the jet's transverse position, possibly arising from an eight to ten-year quasi-periodicity. However, the origin of this sideways shift remains unclear. Here we report an analysis of radio observations over 22 years that suggests a period of about 11 years in the position angle variation of the jet. We infer that we are seeing a spinning black hole that induces the Lense-Thirring precession of a misaligned accretion disk. Similar jet precession may commonly occur in other active galactic nuclei but has been challenging to detect owing to the small magnitude and long period of the variation., Comment: 41 pages, 7 figures, 7 tables

Class II CH3OH masers are used as a convenient tracer of disc-like structures in high-mass star formation. However, more than half of them show a complex distribution in Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) maps. The origin of such a complex distribution is still unknown. We conducted VLBI monitoring observations to unveil the origin of a complex class II CH3OH maser in the high-mass star-forming region G59.783+0.065. We observed the CH3OH maser at 6.7 GHz and the H2O maser at 22 GHz to probe detailed circumstellar kinematics and structures by the Japanese VLBI network and the VLBI Exploration of Radio Astrometry. We found similar bipolar distributions in both masers, specifically two clusters located 2000 au apart along the East-West direction. We detected a linear distribution of CH3OH masers in the Western cluster. A position-velocity diagram shows that the Western CH3OH masers trace a rotating disc-wind or infalling component inside an edge-on disc-like structure. In contrast to the simple bipolar expanding motions of the H2O masers, the CH3OH masers exhibited complex motions despite their spatial coincidence. Some of the Eastern CH3OH masers showed bipolar expansions similar to the H2O masers, while others displayed random or even inward motions. Such complex kinematics and their close association with the H2O maser could occur at the boundary between outflow and inflow. The main concern of this study is to find the optimal design of truss structures considering sizing and layout variables simultaneously. As compared to purely sizing optimization problems, this problem is more challenging since the two types of variables involved are fundamentally different in nature. In this paper, a reinforcement learning method combining the update process and Monte Carlo tree search called the update Monte Carlo tree search (UMCTS) for sizing optimization problems is applied to solve combined sizing and layout optimization for truss structures. This study proposes a novel update process for nodal coordinates with two features. (1) The allowed range of each coordinate varies in each round. (2) Accelerators for the number of entries in the allowed range and iteration numbers are introduced to reduce the computation time. Furthermore, nodal coordinates and member areas are determined at the same time with only one search tree in each round. The validation and efficiency of the UMCTS are tested on benchmark problems of planar and spatial trusses with discrete sizing variables and continuous layout variables. It is shown that the CPU time of the UMCTS is two times faster than the branch and bound method. This paper proposes a novel reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm using improved Monte Carlo tree search (IMCTS) formulation for discrete optimum design of truss structures. IMCTS with multiple root nodes includes update process, the best reward, accelerating technique, and terminal condition. Update process means that once a final solution is found, it is used as the initial solution for next search tree. The best reward is used in the backpropagation step. Accelerating technique is introduced by decreasing the width of search tree and reducing maximum number of iterations. The agent is trained to minimize the total structural weight under various constraints until the terminal condition is satisfied. Then, optimal solution is the minimum value of all solutions found by search trees. These numerical examples show that the agent can find optimal solution with low computational cost, stably produces an optimal design, and is suitable for multi-objective structural optimization and large-scale structures., Comment: 34 pages, 24 figures, 16 tables

Generative adversarial networks (GAN) have recently been used for a design synthesis of mechanical shapes. A GAN sometimes outputs physically unreasonable shapes. For example, when a GAN model is trained to output airfoil shapes that indicate required aerodynamic performance, significant errors occur in the performance values. This is because the GAN model only considers data but does not consider the aerodynamic equations that lie under the data. This paper proposes the physics-guided training of the GAN model to guide the model to learn physical validity. Physical validity is computed using general-purpose software located outside the neural network model. Such general-purpose software cannot be used in physics-informed neural network frameworks, because physical equations must be implemented inside the neural network models. Additionally, a limitation of generative models is that the output data are similar to the training data and cannot generate completely new shapes. However, because the proposed model is guided by a physical model and does not use a training dataset, it can generate completely new shapes. Numerical experiments show that the proposed model drastically improves the accuracy. Moreover, the output shapes differ from those of the training dataset but still satisfy the physical validity, overcoming the limitations of existing GAN models.

We point out that SO($2N$) pure Yang-Mills theory provides a candidate for dark matter (DM) without the explicit need to impose any additional symmetry. The DM candidate is a particular type of glueball, which we refer to as a baryonic glueball, that is naturally stable and produced by a novel production mechanism for a moderately large $N$. In this case, the intercommutation probability of cosmic strings (or macroscopic color flux tubes) is quite low, which offers characteristic gravitational wave signals to test our model. We discuss the role that coherence phenomena can have on the intensity variability of spectral lines associated with maser radiation. We do so by introducing the fundamental cooperative radiation phenomenon of (Dicke's) superradiance and discuss its complementary nature to the maser action, as well as its role in the flaring behaviour of some maser sources. We will consider examples of observational diagnostics that can help discriminate between the two, and identify superradiance as the source of the latter. More precisely, we show how superradiance readily accounts for the different time-scales observed in the multi-wavelength monitoring of the periodic flaring in G9.62+0.20E., Comment: 15 pages, 11 figures

The QCD phase diagram in the space of temperature and imaginary baryon chemical potential has been an interesting subject in numerical lattice QCD simulations because of the absence of the sign problem and its deep structure related to confinement/deconfinement. We study constraints on the phase diagram by using an 't Hooft anomaly. The relevant anomaly is an anomaly in the space of imaginary chemical potential. We compute it in the UV, and discuss how it is matched by the pion effective field theory at low temperatures. Then we study implications of the anomaly to the phase diagram. There must be a line of phase transition studied in the past by Roberge and Weiss such that the expectation value of the Polyakov loop is not smooth when we cross the line. Moreover, if the greatest common divisor of the color and flavor numbers is greater than one, the phase transition across the Roberge-Weiss line must be either a first order phase transition, or a second order phase transition described by a nontrivial interacting three-dimensional CFT., Comment: 28 pages, 6 figures

High-mass protostars (M$_{\star} >$ 8 M$_{\odot}$) are thought to gain the majority of their mass via short, intense bursts of growth. This episodic accretion is thought to be facilitated by gravitationally unstable and subsequently inhomogeneous accretion disks. Limitations of observational capabilities, paired with a lack of observed accretion burst events has withheld affirmative confirmation of the association between disk accretion, instability and the accretion burst phenomenon in high-mass protostars. Following its 2019 accretion burst, a heat-wave driven by a burst of radiation propagated outward from the high-mass protostar G358.93-0.03-MM1. Six VLBI (very long baseline interferometry) observations of the raditively pumped 6.7 GHz methanol maser were conducted during this period, tracing ever increasing disk radii as the heat-wave propagated outward. Concatenating the VLBI maps provided a sparsely sampled, milliarcsecond view of the spatio-kinematics of the accretion disk covering a physical range of $\sim$ 50 - 900 AU. We term this observational approach `heat-wave mapping'. We report the discovery of a Keplerian accretion disk with a spatially resolved four-arm spiral pattern around G358.93-0.03-MM1. This result positively implicates disk accretion and spiral arm instabilities into the episodic accretion high-mass star formation paradigm., Comment: Published in Nature Astronomy in 2023

High-mass stars are thought to accumulate much of their mass via short, infrequent bursts of disk-aided accretion. Such accretion events are rare and difficult to observe directly but are known to drive enhanced maser emission. In this Letter we report high-resolution, multi-epoch methanol maser observations toward G358.93-0.03 which reveal an interesting phenomenon; the sub-luminal propagation of a thermal radiation "heat-wave" emanating from an accreting high-mass proto-star. The extreme transformation of the maser emission implies a sudden intensification of thermal infrared radiation from within the inner (40 mas, 270 au) region. Subsequently, methanol masers trace the radial passage of thermal radiation through the environment at $\geq$ 4-8\% the speed of light. Such a high translocation rate contrasts with the $\leq$ 10 km s$^{-1}$ physical gas motions of methanol masers typically observed using very long baseline interferometry (VLBI). The observed scenario can readily be attributed to an accretion event in the high-mass proto-star G358.93-0.03-MM1. While being the third case in its class, G358.93-0.03-MM1 exhibits unique attributes hinting at a possible `zoo' of accretion burst types. This short note describes the concept of guided training of deep neural networks (DNNs) to learn physically reasonable solutions. DNNs are being widely used to predict phenomena in physics and mechanics. One of the issues of DNNs is that their output does not always satisfy physical equations. One approach to consider physical equations is adding a residual of equations into the loss function; this is called physics-informed neural network (PINN). One feature of PINNs is that the physical equations and corresponding residual must be implemented as part of a neural network model. In addition, the residual does not always converge to a small value. The proposed model is a physics-guided generative adversarial network (PG-GAN) that uses a GAN architecture in which physical equations are used to judge whether the neural network's output is consistent with physics. The proposed method was applied to a simple problem to assess its potential usability.

We present detailed modeling of periodic flaring events in the 6.7 GHz and 12.2 GHz methanol lines as well as the OH 1665 MHz and 1667 MHz transitions observed in the G9.62+0.20E star-forming region. Our analysis is performed within the framework of the one-dimensional Maxwell-Bloch equations, which intrinsically cover the complementary quasi-steady state maser and transient superradiance regimes. We find that the variations in flaring time-scales measured for the different species/transitions, and sometimes even for a single spectral line, are manifestations of and are best modeled with Dicke's superradiance, which naturally accounts for a modulation in the duration of flares through corresponding changes in the inversion pump. In particular, it can explain the peculiar behaviour observed for some features, such as the previously published result for the OH 1667 MHz transition at $v_\mathrm{lsr}=+1.7$ km s$^{-1}$ as well as the methanol 6.7 GHz line at $v_\mathrm{lsr}=-1.8$ km s$^{-1}$, through a partial quenching of the population inversion during flaring events., Comment: 13 pages, 13 figures, accepted MNRAS

Obtaining high-resolution images at centimeter-or-longer wavelengths is vital for understanding the physics of jets. We reconstructed images from the M87 22 GHz data observed with the East Asian VLBI Network (EAVN) by using the regularized maximum likelihood (RML) method, which is different from the conventional imaging method CLEAN. Consequently, a bright core and jet extending about 30 mas to the northwest were detected with a higher resolution than in the CLEAN image. The width of the jet was 0.5 mas at 0.3 mas from the core, consistent with the width measured in the 86 GHz image in the previous study. In addition, three ridges were able to be detected at around 8 mas from the core, even though the peak-to-peak separation was only 1.0 mas. This indicates that the RML image's spatial resolution is at least 30% higher than that of the CLEAN image. Ambrosio, Honda, and Tewodrose proved that the regular Weyl's law is equivalent to a mild condition related to the infinitesimal behavior of the measure of balls in compact finite dimensional RCD spaces. Though that condition is seemed to always hold for any such spaces, however, Dai, Honda, Pan, and Wei recently show that for any integer n at least 2, there exists a compact RCD space of n dimension fails to satisfy the regular Weyl's law. In this short article we prove that one dimensional RCD spaces always satisfy the regular Weyl's law.

For physicists: For supersymmetric quantum mechanics, there are cases when a mod-2 Witten index can be defined, even when a more ordinary $\mathbb{Z}$-valued Witten index vanishes. Similarly, for 2d supersymmetric quantum field theories, there are cases when a mod-2 elliptic genus can be defined, even when a more ordinary elliptic genus vanishes. We study such mod-2 elliptic genera in the context of $\mathcal{N}=(0,1)$ supersymmetry, and show that they are characterized by mod-2 reductions of integral modular forms, under some assumptions. Long term monitoring observations with the Hitachi 32-m radio telescope of the 6.7 GHz methanol masers associated with the high mass star-forming region G5.900-0.430 is presented. A period of flux variability at approximately 1260 days, is detected in the features at VLSR = 9.77 and 10.84 km/s while a secondary shorter period, 130.6 days, is determined for the 0.66 km/s feature. This is only the second source which has two different periods. The period of ~1260 days is approximately twice as long as the longest known period of 6.7 GHz methanol masers. The variability pattern of the symmetric sine curves and the consistency with the expected period-luminosity relation suggest that the mechanism of maser flux variability of 9.77 and 10.84 km/s features in this source can be explained by protostellar pulsation instability. On the other hand, because the 0.66 km/s feature has an intermittent and asymmetric variability profile, we propose this feature is explained by the CWB or spiral shock models. Obtaining the spatial distribution of the 0.66 km/s feature using an VLBI will lead to a better understanding of this source.

The East Asian VLBI Network (EAVN) is an international VLBI facility in East Asia and is operated under mutual collaboration between East Asian countries, as well as part of Southeast Asian and European countries. EAVN currently consists of 16 radio telescopes and three correlators located in China, Japan, and Korea, and is operated mainly at three frequency bands, 6.7, 22, and 43 GHz with the longest baseline length of 5078 km, resulting in the highest angular resolution of 0.28 milliarcseconds at 43 GHz. One of distinct capabilities of EAVN is multi-frequency simultaneous data reception at nine telescopes, which enable us to employ the frequency phase transfer technique to obtain better sensitivity at higher observing frequencies. EAVN started its open-use program in the second half of 2018, providing a total observing time of more than 1100 hours in a year. EAVN fills geographical gap in global VLBI array, resulting in enabling us to conduct contiguous high-resolution VLBI observations. EAVN has produced various scientific accomplishments especially in observations toward active galactic nuclei, evolved stars, and star-forming regions. We introduce a new deal of kernel density estimation using an exponentiated form of kernel density estimators. The density estimator has two hyperparameters flexibly controlling the smoothness of the resulting density. We tune them in a data-driven manner by minimizing an objective function based on the Hyv\"arinen score to avoid the optimization involving the intractable normalizing constant due to the exponentiation. We show the asymptotic properties of the proposed estimator and emphasize the importance of including the two hyperparameters for flexible density estimation. Our simulation studies and application to income data show that the proposed density estimator is appealing when the underlying density is multi-modal or observations contain outliers.

We present a detection of a bright burst from FRB 20201124A, which is one of the most active repeating FRBs, based on S-band observations with the 64-m radio telescope at the Usuda Deep Space Center/JAXA. This is the first FRB observed by using a Japanese facility. Our detection at 2 GHz in February 2022 is the highest frequency for this FRB and the fluence of $>$ 189 Jy ms is one of the brightest bursts from this FRB source. We place an upper limit on the spectral index $\alpha$ = -2.14 from the detection of the S band and non-detection of the X band at the same time. We compare an event rate of the detected burst with ones of the previous research, and suggest that the power-law of the luminosity function might be broken at lower fluence, and the fluences of bright FRBs distribute up to over 2 GHz with the power-law against frequency. In addition, we show the energy density of the burst detected in this work was comparable to the bright population of one-off FRBs. We propose that repeating FRBs can be as bright as one-off FRBs, and only their brightest bursts could be detected so some of repeating FRBs intrinsically might have been classified as one-off FRBs., Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan (PASJ)

We report VLBI monitoring observations of the 22 GHz water (H$_{2}$O) masers around the Mira variable BX Cam, which were carried out as a part of the EAVN Synthesis of Stellar Maser Animations (ESTEMA) project. Data of 37 epochs in total were obtained from 2018 May to 2021 June with a time interval of 3-4 weeks, spanning approximately three stellar pulsation periods ($P= \sim$440 d). In particular, the dual-beam system equipped on the VERA stations was used to measure the kinematics and parallaxes of the H$_{2}$O maser features. The measured parallax, $\pi=1.79\pm 0.08$ mas, is consistent with $Gaia$ EDR3 and previously measured VLBI parallaxes within a 1-$\sigma$ error level. The position of the central star was estimated, based on both the $Gaia$ EDR3 data and the center position of the ring-like 43 GHz silicon-monoxide (SiO) maser distribution imaged with the KVN. The three-dimensional H$_{2}$O maser kinematics indicates that the circumstellar envelope is expanding at a velocity of $13\pm4$ km s$^{-1}$, while there are asymmetries in both the spatial and velocity distributions of the maser features. We present ionized gas properties of 9 local ultra/luminous infrared galaxies (U/LIRGs) at $z <$ 0.04 through IFU observations with KOOLS-IFU on Seimei Telescope. The observed targets are drawn from the Great Observatories All-sky LIRG Survey (GOALS), covering a wide range of merger stages. We successfully detect emission lines such as H$\beta$, [OIII]$\lambda$5007, H$\alpha$, [NII]$\lambda\lambda$6549,6583, and [SII]$\lambda\lambda$6717,6731 with a spectral resolution of $R$ = 1500-2000, which provides (i) spatially-resolved ($\sim$200-700 pc) moment map of ionized gas and (ii) diagnostics for active galactic nucleus (AGN) within the central $\sim$3--11 kpc in diameter for our sample. We find that [OIII] outflow that is expected to be driven by AGN tends to be stronger (i) towards the galactic center and (ii) as a sequence of merger stage. In particular, the outflow strength in the late-stage (stage D) mergers is about 1.5 times stronger than that in the early-state (stage B) mergers, which indicates that galaxy mergers could induce AGN-driven outflow and play an important role in the co-evolution of galaxies and supermassive black holes., Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures, and 2 tables, accepted for publication in PASJ

We present the discovery of the simultaneous flux variation of a massive young stellar object (MYSO) G036.70+00.09 (G036.70) both in the maser emission and mid-infrared (MIR;$\lambda=3$--$5$~$\mu$m) bands. Utilizing the ALLWISE and NEOWISE archival databases covering a long time span of approximately 10 years with a cadence of 6 months, we confirmed that G036.70 indicates a stochastic year-long MIR variability with no signs of the WISE band color change of W1 (3.4~$\mu$m) $-$W2 (4.6~$\mu$m). Cross-matching the MIR data set with the high-cadence 6.7~GHz class II methanol maser flux using a Hitachi 32-m radio telescope that discovered its periodicity in the methanol maser of 53.0--53.2 days, we also determine the flux correlations between the two bands at two different timescales, year-long and day-long, both of which have never been reported in MYSOs except when they are in a state of the accretion burst phase. The results of our study support the scenario that a class II methanol maser is pumped up by infrared emission from accreting disks of MYSOs. We also discuss the possible origins of MIR and maser variability. To explain the two observed phenomena, a stochastic year-long MIR variability with no signs of significant color change and maser-MIR variability correlation, change in mass accretion rate and line-of-sight extinction because of nonaxisymmetric dust density distribution in a rotating accretion disk are possible origins. Observations through spectroscopic monitoring of accretion-related emission lines are essential for determining the origin of the observed variability in G036.70., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in ApJ
