On the basis of published sources as well as the personal experience of the authors’ military service, the procedure for preparation and conduct of command post training under conditions of martial law was studied. An option of the activities carried out while preparing for the training as well as a scenario development option for conduct of combat operations during the training, taking into account NATO standards and doctrinal documents adapted to these standards, were considered. The terminology for the preparation and conduct of command post training was analysed and recommendations were provided for the preparation and conduct of command post training under conditions of martial law. It will make it possible, in a short period of time, to effectively prepare headquarters and military units for the fulfilment of assigned combat tasks during the martial law., На основі опублікованих джерел, а також особистого досвіду військової служби авторів досліджуються особливості порядку підготовки та проведення командно-штабних тренувань в умовах воєнного стану. Розглянуті варіант заходів, які проводяться під час безпосередньої підготовки до тренування, та варіант методики розіграшу бойових дій у процесі проведення командно-штабних тренувань з урахуванням стандартів НАТО і доктринальних документів, адаптованих до цих стандартів. Проаналізований понятійно-категорійний апарат щодо підготовки та проведення командно-штабних тренувань. Надані рекомендації щодо підготовки та проведення командно-штабних тренувань за умов воєнного стану, які даватимуть змогу в короткі терміни ефективно підготувати органи військового управління та військові частини до виконання поставлених бойових завдань під час воєнного стану.

This paper addresses the Castilian lanza, making a proposal on its origin, and reveals our stance on an underlying issue regarding this topic: it has been discussed by many Historians from different perspectives that, far from removing all doubt, have generated some confusion. One of these is the time frame. While the available data allow to determine a specific point in time for the emergence of the lanza in Castile, some authors have formulated different hypotheses as a result of either tracking semantic records in all kinds of texts -mainly literary- or following evidence in a military-organizational context. Another research line, also military-related, has been focused on finding equivalents in other late medieval European territories. Este trabajo pretende incidir en el tema de la lanza Castellana, realizando una propuesta sobre su origen, y poniendo de manifiesto nuestra postura ante un problema latente: la cuestión ha sido abordada por gran parte de la historiografía desde diversos enfoques que, lejos de despejar dudas, han generado cierta confusión. Uno de ellos es el marco temporal, pues, aunque los datos disponibles permiten establecer un ámbito cronológico concreto para la aparición de la lanza en Castilla, algunos autores han planteado ciertas hipótesis, como resultado de rastrear antecedentes semánticos en todo tipo de textos, principalmente literarios; o a través de pistas indiciarias de carácter organizativo-militar. Otra línea de investigación, también de carácter militar, ha orientado sus pesquisas a buscar equivalencias en el entorno europeo bajomedieval.

Kaunas Duke Vaidotas 8th Infantry Regiment belongs to the category of the interwar Lithuanian Armed Forces’ infantry regiments the history of which started from a separate battalion during the fights for independence, i.e., the times when the Lithuanian military was growing and strengthening. The regiment started its history on 12 June 1919 as Ukmergė Separate Battalion, however, differently from many other separate battalions that were formed by separating a group of servicemen from a military unit. The formation of Kaunas Duke Vaidotas 8th Infantry Regiment started only after the appointment of the battalion commander and transfer of 12 servicemen from Kaunas Military Commandant’s Office to the indicated place of formation, i.e., Ukmergė. Such a decision was made most likely because the battalion commander was appointed Jurgis Kubilius, an experienced former colonel who served in the Imperial Russian Army. The military authorities had no doubts about his organizational skills and believed that it would not take him long to form a battalion. Naturally, Colonel Kubilius successfully fulfilled their expectations. The combat mission of Kaunas Battalion started on 2 July 1919 when Company 1 was sent to the front to fight the Bolsheviks in Utena–Daugavpils area. The company was temporarily attached to the 1st Infantry Regiment. During the struggle against the Bolsheviks, the regiment proved capable of performing the tasks assi- gned by the military authorities. Operating mainly in Daugavpils area, the regiment carried out a number of major operations and managed to keep the entrusted front bar in Kalkūnai area safe despite critical conditions. When on 13 January 1920 the regiment was deployed in Kaunas, its servicemen had to quell the riot that sparked on February 21-23 in the barracks of Kaunas Garrison. It was caused by poor supply of servicemen and the Bolsheviks’ agitation hostile to Lithuania. Despite the rebels’ urge to join the riot, the regiment resisted it, remained loyal to the Lithuanian Government, and put down the riot along with the 6th Infantry Regiment. Since the end of April, the year 1920, when the regiment’s formation was completed, was marked by the fights with the Polish troops. In the first half of 1920, the regiment guarded the front bar against the Poles in Ukmergė area, and already in September it suffered a disaster losing more than half of its servicemen who were killed, wounded, or taken prisoners during fierce battles against the Polish troops in Suvalkija. The catastrophe was determined by objective and subjective reasons. First, after the Polish victory against the Red Army near Warsaw in August 1920, the Polish 280 forces were much larger compared to those of the Red Army and the Lithuanian troops in Augustów–Grodno bar. Equally important was the responsibility of the Lithuanian military authorities that underestimated the Polish threat and instead of concentrating military units, they dispersed them leading to the tragedy of the Lithuanian troops in Augustów – Sejny area. During the tense final battles with the Polish troops near Giedraičiai and Širvintos in November 1920, the 8th Infantry Regiment carried out an important mission set up by the military leadership. As the reserve of the 1st Infantry Division, the regiment covered the unprotected left wing and rear of the division thus ensuring the safety and maneuvers of other Lithuanian military units. When the struggle for independence was over, the regiment had to guard a bar in the neutral zone with Poland. It was a rather difficult period as the regiment was in neither peace nor war conditions. The battalion guarding the demarcation line was in fact operating under frontal conditions, whereas other two battalions faced fragile peace due to continuous tension near the demarcation line where the confrontation with the Poles sometimes escalated into rather serious clashes. When the regiment was deployed in Šiauliai at the end of April 1923, it entered a usual peacetime routine. The key mission of the regiment was to train and educate conscripts for the reserve force of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Gradually, a usual routine was established with regular inspections, elimination of observed shortcomings, traditional spring and autumn maneuvers, various sports and other holidays, etc. In this respect, the regiment did not differ from other regiments of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Military training followed training programmes, whereas knowledge and skills were tested during maneuvers, exercises, alarms, etc.

The article describes the peculiarities of forming a positive image of the National Guard of Ukraine military units in sites of permanent deployment. The study made it possible to identify factors influencing the formation of a positive image of the National Guard of Ukraine military units in sites of permanent deployment. During transformation of the modern Ukrainian society, the successful solution of the problems of strengthening the defense capability of our state is inevitably connected with the need to develop a positive image of the military man and the National Guard of Ukraine in general in order to increase the attractiveness of military service. The level of moral state, the moral and psychological state of the military men and the desire of young people to perform military service depends on the available positive image of the National Guard of Ukraine. The purposeful and systematic formation of a positive image has become especially relevant today. Many researchers are interested in identifying the main factors that influence the formation of a positive image of the National Guard of Ukraine. The analysis of scientific researches shows that there are definitions of military image functions, but there are no common approaches to identify the system of factors that positively affects the image of the National Guard of Ukraine. The study shows that the main purpose of forming the National Guard of Ukraine image is to increase positive public opinion about it. It is found out that factors that influence the formation of a positive image of the National Guard of Ukraine military units in the places of constant location are: official policy of the state in the fields of defense; informational policy and propaganda activities of the state in the promotion of military service; corporate culture of military men; advertising and PR activities of military structures; communicational skills of the personnel with the citizens. Concerning personal qualities of the servicemen which positively impact the image of the National Guard of Ukraine as a whole the following activities have been outlined: the development of high level of servicemen’s accountability for personal actions and results of their activities; development of the servicemen’s potential intellect; enhancing the moral and ethical requirements for the candidates for military service in the National Guard of Ukraine; enhancing the level of cultural training of the personnel., Викладено особливості формування позитивного іміджу військових частин Національної гвардії України в місцях постійної дислокації. Оцінювання організацій і колективів з багаторівневою ієрархічною структурою (проєктні групи, групи дослідників, військові підрозділи, експертні комісії, медичні групи швидкого реагування) є сьогодні актуальною проблемою, вирішення якої дозволить по новому організувати їх швидку динамічну адаптацію для виконання важливих оперативних завдань, а також підготовку членів команди при відсутності достатніх компетенцій, навиків та досвіду. Оцінювання також виявляє слабкі та сильні сторони як колективу в цілому, так і кожного учасника, що у перспективі надає можливості їх подальшого росту. Оцінювання роботи колективів є комплексним, що включає як фахові знання з певної галузі діяльності, так і навички керування колективом (так звані навички лідерства, уміння організувати виконання завдань та досягнення цілей і отримання позитивних результатів роботи). Щоб покращити оцінювання ієрархічних агрегованих команд запропоновано використовувати онтологічний підхід: онтологія предметної області визначає знання про відповідні комбінації компетенцій для позицій учасників в організаційній структурі колективу. Інформація про компетенції претендентів отримується шляхом аналізу портфоліо (резюме, сертифікати, дипломи, заслуги). У випадку, коли наявність компетенцій є недостатньою для отримання певної позиції, система автоматично підбирає курси для отримання цих компетенцій. Більш складні завдання формування колективу можуть використовувати ієрархічний набір онтологій та вебсервісів для отримання результатів оцінювання та рекомендацій щодо підвищення компетентності. Створено покрокову методику виконання задачі оцінювання колективу з застосуванням методів семантичної подібності між моделями інформаційних об’єктів для підбору претендентів на посади, вибору апаратури, обладнання, озброєння. Апробовано підхід ієрархічного агрегатного оцінювання колективів, орієнтований на інтегроване багатокритеріальне прийняття рішень в умовах, коли сам набір критеріїв залежить від особливостей задачі і може бути створений на основі знань предметної області, але в різні моменти часу відносна значущість цих критеріїв може змінюватися. Цей підхід планується розширити за допомогою засобів і методів керування знаннями, інтелектуального аналізу даних і машинного навчання, які використовуються для отримання компетентних знань. Evaluation of organizations with multi-level hierarchical structure (project groups, groups of researchers, military units, expert commissions, medical rapid response teams) is an urgent problem today, the solution of which will allow to organize their rapid dynamic adaptation in a new way to perform important operational tasks, as well as training team members in the absence of sufficient competencies, skills and experience. The assessment also reveals the strengths and weaknesses of both the team as a whole and each participant, which in the future provides opportunities for their further growth. Evaluation of the work of teams is complex, including both professional knowledge in a certain field of activity and team management skills (so-called leadership skills, the ability to organize the execution of tasks and the achievement of goals and obtaining positive work results). In order to improve the evaluations of hierarchical aggregated teams we propose the use of ontological approach: domain ontology defines knowledge about relevant combinations of competencies for hierarchical team positions. Information about competencies of applicants is acquired by portfolio analysis (resume, certificates, diplomas, merits, etc.). More complex tasks can use a hierarchical set of ontologies and Web-services for obtaining evaluation results and recommendations for competence improving for various sublevels. We describe the step-by-step method of team evaluation that use elements of semantic similarity between different information objects for the matching of applicants and equipment with team positions. Proposed approach to hierarchical team evaluation is a component for integrated multi-criteria decision-making oriented on some special case of user tasks: the set of evaluation criteria is determined by task and can be built on the basis of domain knowledge, but importance of particular criterion is defined by state of environment in different points in time. This approach can be expanded by means and methods of knowledge management, Data mining and machine learning used for acquisition of competence knowledge.

It is emphasized that internal communications are the direction of organizational communications, which are directed to internal target audiences and affect the general climate of interpersonal relations between the participants in the managerial process. Understanding of emotional intelligence and emotional competence for successful individual work not only in the process of their professional development but also in special conditions, including work in military units during military aggression on the territory of Ukraine, was the crucial objective. The importance of emotional intelligence on the psychological compatibility of the unit and the factual existence of such an influence was the topic of our research as it is not examined sufficiently by military experts. We distinguished the category of conscripted personnel and the process of their appointment to new military groups. We also confirm that apart from the process of blending in new communities, the military units were changed in their psychological structure and cooperation, which was also interesting to study. In our work we focused on new paradigm of understanding emotions, based on the theory of emotions construction - we consider it as a radical perspective on what means to be a human, which stands for the newest researches in neurobiology area. Therefore the theory of emotions construction forms the connection of all three directions. It borrowed the idea of cultural influence and perceptions importance from social construction. It also took the postulate, that emotions are constructed by the main brain and body systems from psychological construction and the conclusion that the experience forms the brain links from neuroconstruction. We also highlighted the perspectives on the emotional intelligence of famous psychologists. Reuven Bar-On is an Israeli psychologist and one of the leading innovators, theorists and researchers in the concept of emotional intelligence. The notion of emotional capability was concerned in a book “Emotional Leadership: The Art of Managing People Based on Emotional Intelligence” on the co-authorship of D. Goulman with Richard Boyacis and Annie Mackey. The concept of emotional competence was suggested by David McClelland, a psychologist at Harvard University.Several obstacles that the military experts faced while working with military personnel have been identified. In order to study the level of servicemen’s development of emotional intelligence a Hall test was conducted to diagnose the emotional intelligence. The rapid assessment methodologies presented by S. Mikhalyuk and A. Shalit. were carried out for the study of the socio-psychological climate. The results are not encouraging, but they represent the real state of affairs and the need to address and solve the identified problems., В ходе исследования процесса вхождения военнослужащих срочной службы в коллективы воинских подразделений выявлено, что большинство исследуемых военнослужащих характеризуются низким и средним уровнями развития всех факторов эмоционального интеллекта, что является свидетельством сложной ситуации для данной категории военнослужащих, наличием трудностей и препятствий в процессе вхождения их к новому коллективу. Выявлено, что существует прямая связь между всеми показателями эмоционального интеллекта и аффективной приверженностью военнослужащих в подразделении., Стаття присвячена вивченню ініціації військовослужбовців строкової служби до військових колективів сучасних Збройних сил України та зв’язок емоційного інтелекту солдат з психологічною сумісністю у військовому підрозділі.У ході дослідження процесу входження військовослужбовців строкової служби до колективів військових підрозділів виявлено, що більшість досліджуваних військовослужбовців характеризуються низьким та середнім рівнями розвитку всіх факторів емоційного інтелекту, що є свідченням складної ситуації для даної категорії військовослужбовців, наявністю труднощів та перешкод у процесі входження їх до нового колективу. Виявлено, що існує прямий зв'язок між всіма показниками емоційного інтелекту та афективною прихильністю військовослужбовців до підрозділу. Тобто, чим краще розвинений емоційний інтелект, тим більшою є емоційна прив’язаність до колективу, тим більше людина ідентифікує себе з організацією.

This monograph is published in a monographic series The History of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and is dedicated to the history of Pilėnai Duke Margiris 6th Infantry Regiment, an inter-war military unit of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, of the period of 1919–1940. The history of the 6th Infantry Regiment differs from those of other interwar Lithuanian infantry regiments. Nevertheless, it resembles the history of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytautas Regiment as both histories were broken. When in 1926 the Lithuanian Armed Forces were reduced, the 6th Infantry Regiment was eliminated, to be restored in 1934.

Ovim radom pristupilo se rješavanju problema skladištenja i dostupnosti podataka korištenih u svakodnevnim aktivnostima unutar postrojbi bez pristupa službenom programskom alatu Ministarstva obrane i Oružanih snaga Republike Hrvatske. Opisane su tehnologije korištene pri izradi te trenutni problemi i nužne funkcionalnosti koje programski alat mora sadržavati kako bi se povećala vremenska učinkovitost i efikasnost rada cijele postrojbe. Isto tako, prikazan je Web sustav za evidenciju rada vojne jedinice izrađen u ovom radu te je opisano kako njegove funkcionalnosti utječu na rješavanje postavljenog problema. This paper addresses the problem of storage and availability of data used in daily activities within the military units without access to the official software of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia. Paper also describes technologies used in the design, as well as the current problems and necessary functionalities that software must have to maximize the time efficiency and general efficiency of the entire unit. Also, a Web-based system for work records of the military unit created in this paper is presented, as well as how its functionalities influence on solving the problem posed.

The general features of using the Internet are analyzed for conducting training for the units of the National Guard of Ukraine, which make it possible to outline the main areas of effective training of servicemen. The study of the main stages of the training of professional knowledge of the units of the National Guard of Ukraine via the Internet is carried out. This allowed to identify the main types of work to improve the information base of military units. Це дозволило визначити основні види діяльності з вдосконалення інформаційної бази військових підрозділів. The study suggests an analysis of the peculiarities of the interaction of the military unit with the suppliers in the logistics processes of military logistics. Particular attention is paid to the establishment of a suppliers’ classification of military units. The work is devoted to studying of dynamic processes during firing from small-caliber automatic guns. These guns are equipped by the combat units of modern lightly armored vehicles. Parametric mathematical and computer models of objects under study with test parameters were developed. Influence of various factors on characteristics of oscillatory processes was investigated. Characteristics of dynamic processes and their effect on the scattering of shells during firing are defined. Models, methods and simulation tools suitable for justification of design solutions during design and modernization of domestic light-armored vehicles were created. Specific features of change in natural frequencies and vibration modes are determined with varying rigidity of armored hull, suspension and combat module. It is revealed that for adequate modeling of dynamic processes and estimation of shooting accuracy it is necessary to investigate a complete model that includes pliable deformable elements: armored hull, suspension and combat module., Работа посвящена исследованию динамических процессов при осуществлении стрельбы из малокалиберных автоматических пушек, которыми оснащаются боевые модули современных боевых легкобронированных машин. Установлены характерные особенности динамических процессов и их влияние на рассеяние снарядов при стрельбе. Созданные модели, методы и средства моделирования пригодны для обоснования проектных решений при проектировании и модернизации отечественных легкобронированных машин. определены особенности изменения собственных частот и форм колебаний при варьировании жесткости бронекорпуса, подвески и боевого модуля. Выявлено, что для адекватного моделирования динамических процессов и оценки точности стрельбы необходимо исследовать полную модель, которая включает податливые деформируемые элементы: бронекорпус, подвеску и боевой модуль, Робота присв'ячена дослідженням динамічних процесів при здійсненні стрільби із малокаліберних автоматичних гармат, якими оснащаються бойові модулі сучасних бойових легкоброньованих машин. Розроблені математичні та параметричні комп'ютерні моделі досліджуваних об’єктів із тестовими параметрами. Проведені дослідження впливу різноманітних чинників на характеристики коливальних процесів. Установлені характерні особливості динамічних процесів та їх вплив на розсіювання снарядів при стрільбі. Створені моделі, методи та засоби моделювання придатні для обгрунтування проектних рішень при проектуванні та модернізації вітчизняних легкоброньованих машин. Визначені особливості зміни власних частот і форм коливань при варіюванні жорсткості бронекорпусу, підвіски і бойового модуля. Виявлено, що для адекватного моделювання динамічних процесів і оцінки точності стрільби необхідно досліджувати повну модель, яка включає податливі елементи, що деформуються : бронекорпус, підвіску і бойовий модуль
