Along with future sustainability, factors such as environmental protection, co-prosperity, and ethical management are also gaining attention, resulting in the increased significance of the non-financial performance of companies. Accordingly, many institutions are evaluating the non-financial activities of companies using environmental, social, and governance (ESG) as evaluation indicators. However, the use of the current ESG rating as a reliable indicator has a limitation as the criteria are different for each evaluation institution and the ESG rating for the same company may differ when provided by different evaluation institutions. Accordingly, it is important to directly extract non-financial information generated by various media to provide objective ESG information, but the studies that focus on the need for automatic and direct extraction and classification of ESG information are limited. Therefore, this paper proposes a classifier that can discriminate ESG information. To train the ESG classifier, a dataset was constructed by manually labeling ESG data, and the ESG classifier recorded a classification accuracy of 86.66% for the 4-class classification problem of the constructed dataset. In addition, three application experiments were conducted to verify the usability of the proposed model. First, the results confirmed that the ESG classifier showed a significant performance of 83.96% accuracy for sectors not included in the training data. Second, the results qualitatively confirmed that the proposed model properly extracts ESG-related information from multi-source text data. Finally, the ESG dataset was additionally constructed through the pseudo-labeling technique, and the performance improvement of the data augmentation and classifier was verified. The ESG classifier proposed in this paper will provide appropriate ESG information to stakeholders. In future studies, we intend to extract and classify ESG-related information from more diverse types of data through an advanced ESG classifier. The growing awareness of climate change is constantly moving the attention of designers and policymakers from typical and current scenarios to future layouts. This new approach introduces a degree of uncertainty that should be accounted in the building design process. The multitude of possible scenarios suggests considering dynamic system that can adapt themselves to unpredicted operating conditions. The aim of this study is to test a new approach and a new flexibility metric analysing the behaviour of a high-performance dynamic internal curtain in current and future scenarios. The first part of the paper focuses on the optimization of the dynamic system in the current scenario; this preliminary analysis represents the traditional design approach and is considered the baseline for all the comparisons. Hence, defining a matrix of likely scenarios, this paper explores the behaviour of three different selected control strategies – always off (i.e., no curtain), fixed control, optimized control – in the different scenarios considering possible variations of i) climate, ii) urban context, iii) internal loads, and iv) building use. The main outcomes of the research are, on the one hand, the comparisons of the control strategies and the benefits of the dynamic system and, on the other hand, the definition of a new metric that can properly describe the flexibility of the building systems with reference to the future scenarios analysed. This metric is based on six classes – which describe the statistical distribution of the energy consumptions of all the scenarios simulated in the matrix – and an index called Energy Flexibility Index (EFI) that quantifies the flexibility of the technology considered. The case study analysed highlights how implementing a dynamic shading system, considering the same building use, can increase the EFI of nearly 21% for non-optimized control strategy and up to 23% when optimized. This paper identifies and examines nine factors that affect formalization of informal artisanal and small-scale mining in Ghana. Despite a series of efforts to ensure cleaner and safer production, informal artisanal and small-scale mining continues to expand with the resulting increase in environmental pollution and damage. The nine factors form what is described in the paper as the ASM anti-formalization pyramid with corruption, involvement of political leaders in informal mining, and political interference in the formalization process as the top three factors. The crucial argument is that informal artisanal and small-scale mining will continue to expand, devastate the environment, and threaten communities if the anti-formalization factors are not properly addressed. With the rising awareness of green and sustainable development, corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance has become an essential topic in academia. Existing studies have focused on the driving role of formal institutions on corporate ESG performance while ignoring the motivational role of informal institutions such as culture. Based on the data of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2021, this study adopts textual analysis to quantify corporate culture and discusses the impact of corporate culture on ESG performance and its internal mechanism. We find that corporate culture significantly enhances ESG performance. Mechanism test indicates that corporate culture can promote green innovation and improve information transparency through resource and information effect, enhancing ESG performance. We further demonstrate differences in the impact of corporate culture dimensions on ESG performance, with innovation culture and quality culture being the most prominent. In addition, there is heterogeneity in the impact of corporate culture on ESG performance. In the context of non-state-owned property rights, low market attention, and high economic policy uncertainty, the impact of corporate culture on ESG performance is more significant. This paper enriches the related research on ESG performance drivers from the informal system perspective and provides decision-making references for enterprises to promote ESG practices and achieve sustainable development. Degrowth and post-growth economics has emerged as a particularly fruitful approach in the debates about the reorientation of economies in the Global North towards environmental sustainability, equality, need satisfaction and democracy. This perspective promotes a planned reduction of energy and resource use in the Global North to limit environmental pressures and global inequalities and improving well-being. Yet, the specifics of this "design" are not precisely delineated. On the one hand, there is a wide acceptance, at the abstract, most general, even definitional level, that degrowth involves planning or amounts to a planned transition. On the other hand, there is strikingly little explicit engagement with, debate on, and research into what exactly "planning beyond growth" could look like. This gap urgently needs to be addressed. By exploring the degrowth-planning nexus, this paper seeks to lay a foundation for this effort. First, it identifies in the degrowth/postgrowth literature the obstacles and the opportunities for further engagement with planning. The critical aging point (CAP) of an asphalt binder is defined as the longest aging period at which rejuvenation has been shown to be effective for all indicators. The increasing use of novel modified asphalt binders necessitates research on their CAP to optimize asphalt-mix service life through timely rejuvenation. This paper investigated the aging evolution and restoration capacity of bitumen modified with either crumb rubber (CR), a recycled thermoset, or waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a recycled thermoplastic. By using the CAP concept, this research hypothesized that the ability of modifiers to delay bitumen aging was influenced by their capacity to block the diffusion of free radicals and their capacity for adsorption of volatile compounds. This study used a rejuvenator to establish the CAP values for two modified bitumens: CR-modified bitumen, where CR was modified with waste vegetable oil (WVO); and PET-modified bitumen, where the PET was modified with WVO and then coated with wood-pellet biochar. Throughout the aging and rejuvenation processes, the intermolecular interactions and thermo-mechanical properties of each modified bitumen were monitored. Results indicated that, irrespective of the modifier type, the Glover-Rowe parameter (indicating bitumen's susceptibility to cracking) increased with aging, more notably for CR-modified bitumen than for PET-modified bitumen. Additionally, the healing index, crossover modulus, and stress relaxation capacity decreased with aging, with higher rates of change initially that slowed as aging progressed. The rejuvenator effectively restored mildly aged bitumen (up to 40 h) but not severely aged bitumen (60 h or more). PET-modified bitumen showed greater responsiveness to the rejuvenator in terms of restoring the healing index, while CR-modified bitumen responded more in restoring the crossover modulus. This suggests that a combined modifier using PET and CR could be beneficial for restoring both characteristics. The study's findings highlighted the efficacy of using recycled rubber and waste plastics in delaying bitumen aging, emphasizing timely rejuvenation before exceeding the CAP in order to get optimal restoration. In addition, this study addresses a significant gap in existing research by focusing on the limited exploration of the critical aging point of asphalt binders and the absence of a standardized measurement method. Our efforts not only contribute valuable insights to the understanding of this crucial parameter but also highlight the need for collective endeavors to develop a standardized approach. Forests are indispensable in mitigating climate change due to their ability to sequester and store large amounts of carbon. Forest restoration and maintenance activities are crucial for retaining and enhancing this capacity. To promote sustainable practices, stakeholders need to assess the potential impacts of forestry operations. But in-depth comprehension of the forest dynamics is challenging due to the complex interactions between various ecosystem components. High-fidelity, immersive visualizations can support sense- and decision-making processes by facilitating the exploration of scientific and non-scientific data in the respective spatial, temporal, and semantic contexts. However, producing accurate representations of diverse ecosystems is complex and time-consuming. In this paper, we introduce a forest visualization prototype providing realistic representations of forest stands and different simulated scenarios. The utilized data-driven and procedural approach ensures efficiency, reproducibility, and accuracy. Accurate assessment of the sustainable development level is crucial to providing reasonable and effective management recommendations. However, analysis with a single scale can only reflect the sustainable status at a specific level. In this study, a multi-scale analysis of sustainability was conducted via the three-dimensional Ecological Footprint (EF) model in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD). Moreover, driving factors of sustainability were analyzed using the Multi-scale Geographically Weighted Regression model (MGWR). The conclusions include: (1) the development of YRD showed an unsustainable trend from 2014 to 2021, with per capita EF decreasing from 5.769 ha/cap to 5.283 ha/cap. The provincial sustainability is ranked as follows, from being the most sustainable to the least: Anhui Province > Jiangsu Province > Zhejiang Province > Shanghai City. (2) Based on dual indicators of EF depth and size, 41 cities were categorized into nine groups. The dominant type is always Medium size-Low depth (ML) and High size-Low depth (HL) type cities from 2014 to 2021. From the perspective of city scale, the sustainability of five cities weakened, while seven cities showed improvements. (3) Output value of primary industry (OVPI) and population (POP) were always the dominant factors affecting EF, but showed positive and negative correlations respectively. OVPI changes from north-south symmetric type to central symmetric type, while POP changes from central symmetric type to north-south symmetric type. Global businesses are transforming towards capturing more value from services, a business model transition called servitization. Digital servitization can help create and maintain a competitive advantage, as well as offering opportunities to tackle major challenges related to environmental pressures and rapidly changing market conditions. This study aims to bridge the gap between the theory of digital servitization and its implementation in the maritime shipping sector. This paper presents a multi-case study that explores the status, perceived challenges, and enablers for the adoption of digital servitization. Empirical data were collected from interviews with 13 companies and analyzed using the PESTEL and DPSIR frameworks. The results are presented across three categories based on the PESTEL framework: organizational context, global priorities, and sustainability. This study contributes to theory by providing empirical insights from the status of digital servitization in the maritime shipping industry. Also, it identifies challenges and needs that can support the transition towards digital servitization and the development of more sustainable solutions. Considering the significant waste heat generated by existing natural gas power plants, it is imperative to implement eco-friendly combined process designs to ensure their long-term sustainability. The present paper introduces and investigates a novel integrated process aimed at achieving multiple generational advantages within an environmentally friendly framework, with the ultimate goal of enhancing sustainability. The new structure incorporates a natural gas power plant, high-temperature and low-temperature organic Rankine cycles, a combined cooling and power subsystem, and a water desalination unit to produce power, heating, cooling, and freshwater simultaneously. This system is simulated within the Aspen HYSYS software and examined from energy, exergy, economic, environmental, and sustainability perspectives. Furthermore, parametric studies evaluate the impact of the overall system's various environmental, economic, and operational conditions. It is found that the production capacities of power, hot water, chilled water, and freshwater are 179,265.17 kW, 387.8 kg/s, 563.6 kg/s, and 21.4 kg/s, respectively. Hence, the overall energy and exergy efficiencies improve to 66.06% and 42.95%, respectively. The financial estimation also reveals a cost of energy of 0.1084 $/kWh and a total net present value of 818.67 M$. Significant attention is given to the advancements in methodologies for pollutant detection and the development of cutting-edge remediation technologies. The review reveals a notable trend: conventional remediation methods are being progressively enhanced by sustainable approaches, such as phytoremediation and bioremediation, in alignment with circular economy principles. Additionally, this review synthesizes research on the extraction of valuable materials from sediments, including precious metals and organic substances for energy generation, highlighting the transformative potential of converting waste into valuable resources. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a performance management tool that analyzes the relationship between tangible and intangible assets. Its ability to render business strategy visible has earned it the distinction of being a strategic management model. Sustainability has become an important part of daily and business life today. With the increasing importance given by stakeholders to environmental and social issues, companies find it necessary to evaluate sustainability activities in their performance evaluations. In order to meet this need, the Sustainability Balanced Scorecard (SBSC) emerged with the addition of a sustainability perspective or parameters to BSC. The number of academic studies pertaining to the application of BSC, which numerous companies and subjects to research have utilized, is inadequate. Due to its hierarchical structure and the necessity to evaluate numerous criteria, BSC is suitable for using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. In this paper, an integrated approach consisting of SBSC, the Picture Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (PF-AHP), and the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method is proposed for the performance measurement of companies. The PF-AHP method has been reorganized for ease of application in determining the perspectives, strategic objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) weights within SBSC. Additionally, the OMAX method has been employed for calculating the performance scores. This proposed approach was implemented in a factory operating in the glass industry. The SBSC created for the company includes five perspectives, 16 strategic objectives, and 34 KPIs. PF-AHP method was used to determine the weights of perspectives, strategic objectives, and KPIs to be used in the performance score calculation with OMAX. The weight of financial perspective is 0.267, the weight of the customer perspective is 0.247, the weight of the internal process perspective is 0.191, the weight of the learning and development perspective is 0.161, and the weight of the sustainability perspective is 0.134. The evaluations made by the decision-makers indicate that the company's performance measurement still adheres to the traditional framework. The performance score of the company is 6.14 out of 10. Mung bean is a very important crop in Iran in both socio-economic and nutritional terms. However, although discussions on food and food security increasingly include sustainability issues, there are no precedents in academic literature that analyze in depth the nexus between energy, water use and food security in relation to this crop in Iran from an agri-food system approach. Therefore, our main objective is to assess the energy-water-food security (EWFs) nexus and the environmental impact of mung bean production in Iran from a "cradle to fork" approach using different nutritional units (1 kg of beans, 1 kg of proteins, and 1000 kcal) and load allocation criteria. In addition, an economic analysis of the farms is carried out. The results show that the on-farm production of mung beans is the phase where the largest environmental impacts are concentrated (between 40 % and 96 % of them, including those related to water and energy use), while cooking accounts for more than 50 % of the carbon footprint. The non-renewable cumulative energy demand (NR CED) and total water footprint (TWF) per kilogram of beans ("cradle to fork") is estimated at 27.4 MJ and 1.55 m3 and the farm Net Margin (NM) is estimated at 3,677 USD per ha. The paper discusses whether mung bean is a low-impact option for protein production, especially when compared to animal products and the importance of using different functional units and load allocation criteria to address the issue of EWFs and sustainability. Knowledge representation in the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) domain is a vast and multi-faceted challenge: Overlap, ambiguity, and inconsistency in terminology are common. Invariant (consistent) and variant (context-specific) knowledge are difficult to align cross-domain. Generic top-level semantic terminology often is too abstract, while MSE domain terminology often is too specific. In this paper, an approach how to maintain a comprehensive MSE-centric terminology composing a mid-level ontology–the Platform MaterialDigital Core Ontology (PMDco)–via MSE community-based curation procedures is presented. The illustrated findings show how the PMDco bridges semantic gaps between high-level, MSE-specific, and other science domain semantics. Additionally, it demonstrates how the PMDco lowers development and integration thresholds. This research examines the influence of political system changes, particularly official turnover, on pollution reduction in Chinese industrial firms—a response to the environmental challenges posed by China's economic growth. Utilizing micro-panel data from 2000 to 2014 and an official turnover database, this study assesses how these turnovers affect firm-level pollution. The analysis confirms that official turnovers significantly reduce emissions, with the effect more pronounced in non-state-owned enterprises, under officials who are male, hold PhDs, and are older. This impact is also stronger in areas with a larger tertiary sectors and higher economic growth. A detailed comparison reveals that mayoral turnovers have a greater abatement effect than those of municipal secretaries, especially in cases of abnormal turnovers. Crucially, this study demonstrates that mayoral turnovers lead to pollution reduction by promoting corporate exports and innovation. The baseline regression results, confirmed as robust after extensive robustness checks, underscore the significance of these findings. Crumb rubberized asphalt binder achieves value-added recycling of waste scrap tires, as well as enhancement of mechanical properties and aging resistance of asphalt pavements. This paper provides a systematic literature review of the aging evolution and sustainability implications of crumb rubberized asphalt binder based on peer reviewed publications during 1993–2022. The analysis of the literature shows that aging methods, chemical-microstructural characterization, rheological-mechanical properties, and environmental benefits are the main research directions in studying aging of crumb rubberized asphalt binder. Furthermore, recent investigations mainly concentrate on the thermal aging behavior of crumb rubberized asphalt binder, while ultraviolet-induced aging and weathering aging lack attention. Rubber degradation is a characteristic manifestation of crumb rubberized asphalt binder during aging that can be characterized by chemical investigations. Aging-induced cracks are mitigated by rubber particles shown by microstructural observations. Rheological-mechanical investigations show different evolutions in high-temperature properties of crumb rubberized asphalt binder after aging, but a superior low-temperature cracking resistance as compared to base asphalt as well as styrene–butadiene–styrene modified asphalt has been observed. The inconsistent findings in the fatigue properties of aged crumb rubberized asphalt binder are compared and attributed to the selection of evaluation indicators. Life cycle assessment shows that depending on the local waste management policy, significant environmental benefits of crumb rubberized asphalt binder in terms of reduced energy consumption and global warming potential are possible. In the recent years, a novel variant of Material Extrusion technique has been developed. This proved additive technology has been combined with an innovative filament loaded with metallic powder dispersed into a polymeric matrix. The parts printed with this metal/polymer composite filament by means of the Material Extrusion process are called "green parts". After debinding and sintering treatments, the green parts became completely made by metal. As a novel technology, Metal Material Extrusion is still not a fully optimized and, therefore, efficient process and this leads to the generation of a great number of scraps due to the wasted products and to still existing process inefficiencies, which also increase the total costs of fabrication and undermine its economic competitiveness. In this paper, a circular approach for this new additive process has been proposed with a focus on the reuse and the remanufacture of the wasted products. Particularly, the reuse of defective green parts of Metal Material Extrusion technique was investigated to assess a circular manufacture of metallic parts. A new filament was fabricated starting from wasted green parts as raw feedstock with a commercial extrusion system. A comparison between commercial and recycled filaments was conducted. The polymeric content was studied by means of macrographic and thermogravimetric analysis, while a particle size distribution analysis was proposed to evaluate any change in metal powder sizes. Sequentially, secondary green parts were produced and underwent a debinding and sintering process to obtain near fully dense metallic parts. Furthermore, preliminary structural and mechanical evaluations of the secondary metallic samples were proposed in terms of apparent density, microstructure, and Vickers hardness. The issue of economic dispatch in the context of environmental sustainability is more challenging with the integration of clean energy into the grid and the increase in the size of power systems. Power engineers have a responsibility to seek a novel algorithm that can hierarchically simplify the problem, enhance the diversity of solutions, balance economic and environmental goals, reduce the environmental footprint, and increase economic efficiency. In this paper, a multimodal hierarchical distributed multi-objective moth intelligence algorithm is proposed, combines the hierarchical distributed method with the moth algorithm, introduces the loose equivalence of multimodality, and adopts the Pareto curve partition processing and the extraction of objective points. The proposed method converts the information exchange of the adjacent regions of each layer and the optimization of each layer to be performed in the bottom layer, achieving the coordinated optimization of the whole system through the parallel optimization of the bottom layer regions. The simulation results show that: (1) the computational efficiency is improved. In the 118-bus system, the proposed algorithm reduces 0.13% cost and 5.76% carbon emission than distributed optimization; the proposed algorithm reduces 0.53% cost and 3.81% carbon emission than centralized optimization; (2) the speed of computation is accelerated. In the last twenty years, organizations have been increasingly asked to contribute to global challenges. Some of the numerous requests are to combat climate change, the pollution decrease, and energy issues. In this field, the strategic challenge to be overcome is changing the business concept from a mere creator of economic value to a producer of shared value. In this sense, the context of Smart Mobility (SM). Through a case study with five purposive samples of Smart Mobility start-ups, an expert in strategic innovation, sustainability management, and business model innovation, and an innovative project evaluator, the research analyzes the values generated at an ecosystem level, with a reflection on Venice (Italy), the world capital of sustainability. Specifically, flexibility, efficiency, sustainability, safety, satisfaction, and image are explored in depth. Furthermore, the problems that operators and users have to face are discussed. The results of our study confirm what is present in the literature: SM increases mobility, offers flexibility, and guarantees greater capillarity and customization of the service, broadening the field of analysis and suggesting proactive actions. The paper achieves three specific objectives. First, it examines the effect of sustainability knowledge on sustainability reporting. Second, the mediating role of perceived benefit in the nexus between sustainability knowledge and sustainability reporting is assessed. Finally, it examines the moderating role of stakeholder pressure in the relationship between perceived benefit and sustainability reporting. The study adopted the cross sectional research design and survey approach. The data was collected using a structured questionnaire. The population was the Small and Medium Enterprises in Ghana and the target respondents were key decision-makers of firms. 258 respondents formed the sample size. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the data. The study found statistically insignificant positive effect of sustainability knowledge on sustainability reporting. Moreover, perceived benefit was found to fully mediate the nexus between sustainability knowledge and sustainability reporting. Finally, stakeholder pressure was found to positively moderate the relationship between perceived benefit and sustainability reporting. In light of the study's findings, SMEs management should disclose environmental, social, and economic information in financial statements and similar reports. Moreover, managers of firms should enhance stakeholder relationship management by considering stakeholders' environmental, social, and economic concerns in strategy formulation. An emerging strategy to remove CO 2 from the atmosphere and compensate for the greenhouse-gas emissions of cement and concrete is based on incorporating biochar into concrete. With this approach, concrete can be turned into a functional carbon sink (C-sink). Until now, biochar has been mainly used without modification to replace part of the cement or of the aggregates in concrete. However, this technology comes with a number of practical problems, which include the high water absorption of the biochar (due to its high specific surface) and hazards (dust, risk of combustion). In this paper we present an alternative approach, in which biochar is first processed into lightweight aggregates in a cold-bonding process. To this end, biochar is pelletized together with water and a small amount of hydraulic binder forming round pellets that further harden with hydration. In this way, carbon-rich lightweight aggregates (C-LWA) are obtained that are easier to handle than the original biochar. The C-LWA pellets have similar porosity and strength as conventional LWA and can be used for similar applications. Yet, the CO 2 emissions from sintering traditional LWA are avoided and the C-LWA are instead an effective C-sink. We demonstrate that it is possible to incorporate in the pellets and eventually in the concrete a sufficient amount of carbon to compensate for the original emissions of concrete. Waste management is a major challenge worldwide due to the increasing amount of waste generated, which requires sustainable treatment approaches. In this paper, a mathematical model for the optimal configuration of waste treatment processes is presented that considers municipal solid waste and cattle manure from feedlots. A mixed-integer quadratically constrained formulation is proposed to maximize the net present value of investments, and a multi-objective optimization method through ε-restriction is implemented to limit the global warming potential. The model aims to resolve the trade-off between centralized and decentralized networks. The location of the facilities, the ratio of urban to rural waste for each facility, and the waste streams to be transported are also determined by the model. The optimization approach has been evaluated in a real-world scenario in Argentina. For integrated treatment, the results show the potential of anaerobic co-digestion that justifies transporting co-substrates from remote areas. Decentralized designs show that anaerobic digestion is only convenient for large cities and feedlot production sites. Economic and environmental benefits are significantly higher for the integrated alternative. Under optimized conditions, electricity price should be as high as 55.2 USD per MWh to reach the breakeven point from an economic perspective, assuming no revenues from carbon credits. In recent times, algae have been potentially emerged as a viable third generation feedstock for biofuels due to its renewable, environmentally friendly and sustainable characteristics. In this paper, bibliometric analysis is employed to comprehensively review and analyze contemporary research articles focused on algae pyrolysis. The mechanisms involved in the pyrolysis of primary constituents of algae, such as nitrogen (N), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), and other elements, are investigated, with their intricate interrelationships and the migration and transformation mechanisms throughout the pyrolysis process being elucidated. To reduce energy consumption (EC) in the wastewater treatment process (WWTP) for achieving energy conservation and emission reduction, multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) applied in WWTP needs to have better convergence and diversity. In this paper, a non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm III based on utopian point improvement (NSGAIII-UP) is proposed, which overcomes the disadvantage that multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on utopian point decomposition (MOEA/D-UP) cannot handle the multi-segment discontinuous Pareto front (PF) problem well. By comparing the proposed NSGAIII-UP with 8 advanced algorithms by 2 metrics on 22 benchmark functions, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in dealing with the complex PF problems is proved. Moreover, a multivariable model predictive controller (MMPC) is used to control the dissolved oxygen and nitrate nitrogen concentrations in WWTP, in which NSGAIII-UP is applied to the upper EC optimization of WWTP. The simulation results show that compared with the closed-loop control, the EC in the WWTP is reduced by 7.395 %, and the lowest EC is achieved compared with the other 8 algorithms. Hemp-based building envelopes have gained significant popularity in developed countries, and now the trend of constructing houses with hemp-clay blocks is spreading to developing countries like Morocco. Investigating the hygrothermal behavior of such structures under actual climate conditions is essential for advancing and promoting this sustainable practice. This paper presents an in-depth experimental characterization of a commercial hemp-clay brick that has been exposed to the outdoor environment for four years, in addition to field measurements on a building scale demonstration prototype. Additionally, the study simulates 17 representative cities to assess the hygrothermal performance and energy-saving potential in each of Morocco's six existing climate zones, using the EnergyPlus engine. The experimental campaign's findings demonstrate excellent indoor air temperature and relative humidity regulation within the hemp-clay wall building, leading to satisfactory levels of thermal comfort within hemp-clay wall buildings. This is attributed to the material's good thermal conductivity and excellent moisture buffering capacity (found to be 0.31 W/mK and 2.25 g/m2%RH), respectively). The energy simulation findings also point to significant energy savings, with cooling and heating energy reductions ranging from 27.7% to 47.5% and 33.7% to 79.8%, respectively, as compared to traditional Moroccan buildings. In the last few years, there has been a significant increase in the utilization of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) materials as reinforcing elements in concrete structures due to their excellent properties. Unlike traditional steel rebars, FRP rebars do not rust, which helps to prevent degradation and deterioration of the concrete structure over time. This growth has resulted in a rise in the application of design regulations for FRP-reinforced concrete (RC) members. There are currently no European standards that offer suggestions about FRP RC structures. This paper aims to assess the load- carrying capacity and deflection of FRP RC beams with large number of test data available against design standards. The results are compared with ACI 440.1 R-06 specifications and EC2 concepts available in fib Bulletin No. 40. It was found that both ACI and EC2 underestimate the shear flexural capacity. Both design codes presented 38% and 62% of the collected data that overestimated and underestimated the calculation of the deflection, respectively. A parameter influence analysis is performed considering the database collected, and a reliability analysis based on Annex D EN 1990 (2002) is conducted. The reliability analysis allowed suggestion new partial safety factors values of 1.45 and 1.65 for moment and shear capacities, respectively, which can be used by design engineering communities. This paper reports the optimization of the electro-Fenton (EF) process using different anode materials for the degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) dye as a model compound. The cathode used was an air-diffusion PTFE, while three different anode materials (Pt, DSA, and self-doped TiO 2 nanotubes - SD-TNT) were tested individually. A full factorial design (FFD) with a central point combined with response surface methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize the experimental variables, including solution pH, applied current, and anode material. The optimized EF conditions involved a pH of 4.0, a current of 100 mA, and an SD-TNT anode for 120 min of electrolysis. Under these conditions, the MB solution achieved complete decolorization and 45% of total organic carbon (TOC) removal after 120 min of EF treatment. The findings indicate that the hydroxyl radical (•OH) plays a crucial role as the primary oxidizing agent in the EF process. The decay of MB followed pseudo-first-order kinetics, reflecting a consistent formation of •OH radicals that effectively attacked the MB dye and its subproducts during mineralization. Moreover, the EF process exhibited superior performance in terms of energy consumption (EC) and mineralization current efficiency (ECM) in the initial treatment stages, while the presence of recalcitrant by-products and loss of anode self-doping impacted performance in the later stages. Sharing economy platforms hold a promise of more sustainable uses of resources. However, their legitimacy remains "debated" as various ecosystem stakeholders hold different opinions, challenging platform's values and activities. One key contested aspect is their capacity to contribute to sustainability beyond a search for economic performance. Despite these criticisms, sharing economy platforms have managed to grow and spread worldwide. Nevertheless, little is known about how a sudden market crisis affects an online platform characterized by a debated legitimacy. Studying the relationships between Airbnb and its main stakeholders during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic in New York City, our paper identifies three relational strategies - identity, professionalization, and selection - implemented by the platform to reinforce its legitimacy within its local ecosystem. Based on secondary and primary data analyses, we identify and describe the arbitrations and opportunistic choices made by Airbnb to manage various stakeholder groups, to maintain its legitimacy during the COVID-19 crisis, and their impact on sustainability. Sustainable construction can be defined as efficient resource use with ecological design. Three pillars are required to achieve sustainable construction: environmental protection, social well-being and economic prosperity. An increase in sustainable construction awareness among industry stakeholders could help improve levels of implementation. This paper aims to assess levels of awareness among UK practitioners and identify the barriers that inhibit sustainable construction. A mixed-method approach with questionnaire surveys and interviews was adopted. Questionnaire were distributed using MS Forms through social media (e.g., LinkedIn, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp) and the researcher's contacts. The survey concluded with 127 useable responses. Interviews were also conducted over MS Teams with eight professionals with different backgrounds. Respondents for the interview were conveniently gathered through snowball sampling. Data from the questionnaire survey were analysed using SPSS. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach's Alpha and RII were calculated for the level of awareness of sustainable construction practices and barriers to adoption of sustainable construction. Transcripts from the interview were thematically analysed using NVivo. The findings showed that the industry practitioners have above-average levels of awareness. Sustainable construction practices that respondents were most aware of was reduce, reuse and recycle. Respondents were not as aware of newer sustainable practices such as digital twin. Surprisingly, the most prevalent barrier was not cost. According to the respondents, the most prevalent barrier was a tendency to maintain current practices. Many real-life experiences are documented in this research. Insights into current practice in the industry and key barriers to adopting sustainable construction are identified. Urbanization has driven the demand for fossil fuels, however, the overly exploited resource has caused severe damage on environmental pollution. Biorefining using abundant lignocellulosic biomass is an emerging strategy to replace traditional fossil fuels. Value-added lignin biomass reduces the waste pollution in the environment and provides a green path of conversion to obtain renewable resources. The technology is designed to produce biofuels, biomaterials and value-added products from lignocellulosic biomass. In the biorefinery process, the pretreatment step is required to reduce the recalcitrant structure of lignocellulose biomass and improve the enzymatic digestion. There is still a gap in the full and deep understanding of the biorefinery process including the pretreatment process, thus it is necessary to provide optimized and adapted biorefinery solutions to cope with the conversion process in different biorefineries to further provide efficiency in industrial applications. Though automated shading systems effectively reduce excessive indoor solar gain in warm climates, a research gap exists regarding their ability to enhance building energy performance in heating-dominant climates. This paper investigates automated shading implementation for cold climate zones and develops a novel cold climate optimized sensorless control strategy for interior roller shades. A field study was conducted to assess the impact of roller shade operation on indoor thermal conditions. Results from the field study showed that the prototype roller shades operating on the developed control strategy reduced daytime indoor peak temperatures during the summer season to 26.4 °C ± 0.5 °C from 30.0 °C ± 1.9 °C and 28.5 °C ± 1.2 °C for the unshaded and shaded static operation baseline scenarios, respectively. During winter season tests, shade deployment reduced the overnight indoor cooling rate from 0.60 °C/hr ± 0.30 °C/hr and 0.42 °C/hr ± 0.18 °C/hr. A mathematical model was also developed to estimate shading system energy performance based on user-defined building specifications and weather-related variables. It was found that automated shading systems are suitable for use as a green retrofit strategy for cold climate zone buildings. The technology exhibited a payback period range of approximately 5–15 years, depending on factors such as glazing type, glazing orientation, solar exposure, and local climate conditions. This study aims to address this gap by examining the role of renewable energy consumption, human capital, and environmental regulations in improving load capacity factor. In doing so, the paper covers 14 APEC economies; applies second generations panel data models (i.e., CUP-FM (continuously updated fully modified) as the base model and CUP-BC (continuously-updated and bias-corrected) for the robustness); and runs data between 1992 and 2018. The empirical findings present that: i) renewable energy consumption and human capital contribute to improving load capacity factor; ii) environmental regulations are not at a level to increase load capacity factor; iii) economic growth and trade openness significantly reduce load capacity factor. Considering empirical outcomes, this study suggests that APEC should tighten environmental regulations to achieve sustainable environment. Sustainable Supply Chain Network Design (SCND) poses a complex challenge, as it often requires trade-offs in decision-making. The problem becomes even more challenging when there is a need to integrate risk management into the design process. It is steered by this challenge that the purpose of the paper is twofold. First, it proposes a Simulation-Based Decision Support System (SBDSS) for a real case study of a Portuguese wine SCND problem. Second, it analyzes different wine Supply Chain (SC) configurations under risk situations and sustainability objectives. The main contributions of this research are as follows. First, it concerns the method that was employed, which, contrarily to traditional approaches in literature (e.g., stochastic or genetic programming), consists of a simulation approach, in which agents and their interactions in an environment with uncertainty are modeled. Second, for the generation of non-dominated solutions, a simheuristic was employed, which combines multi-objective optimization with simulation. Finally, the type of industry that was considered, due to the lack of cases focusing on it in literature. The results suggest that the proposed approach determines a set of Pareto-front solutions that consider the sustainability dimensions of SCND, as well as risk situations. Furthermore, the implications that several parameters have on the sustainability of the designed SCs were assessed, as well as the impacts that the considered risks have on the performance of SCs. Pavement management systems (PMS) were typically developed to manage interurban networks. This paper presents an urban pavement management system (UM-PMS) that integrates all the modules of a PMS considering the particularities of the urban context. The tool uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) to import, analyze, and manage the data of the urban road network. The inspection data is obtained by an automatic equipment composed by a video camera installed on a vehicle. Images are analyzed by deep learning techniques based on Convolutional Neural Networks. Further, appropriate decisions on maintenance treatments are made by integrating multi-objective optimization and multi-criteria decision-making methods to plan efficient maintenance strategies considering economic, environmental, social, and performance objectives. Finally, the tool is applied to an urban case study to illustrate its applicability. Poorly managed plastic waste ends largely in the environment. For example, visible plastic waste causes pollution in the ocean, and Thailand is ranked sixth in the world for plastic waste generation in the ocean. This study was conducted to monitor and assess plastic waste management following the launch of the 'Thailand Roadmap on Plastic Waste Management (2018–2030)'. The CIPPI model and an impact assessment were used for this purpose. Seventy-three individuals from Thailand's central and local governments were selected to study the plastic bag roadmap. Further, 2378 Thai people and foreign tourists were surveyed about their plastic bag-using behaviours, and thirteen stakeholders were selected for interviews. This study found that the input and output factors were moderate, equalling (x ‾ = 2. 67 , SD = 1.24) and (x ‾ = 3. 07 , SD = 1.20), respectively. Similarly, the process factors were low (x ‾ = 2. 17 , SD 1.29). With respect to outcomes and effects, plastic bag use exhibited a decreasing trend, from 39,983 to 49,816 million bags (−67.03%–83.52%) with a total economic value of 5340–10,408 million baht/year. Carbon dioxide (CO 2) emissions also decreased, at 63,173–78,809-million-kilogram CO 2 eq/year. In conclusion, plastic waste management requires cooperation on the part of all sectors. This paper reviews the published research pertaining to the use of superheated steam for carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite reclamation. Superheated steam has been used for this purpose for around a decade and was initially investigated to prevent the degradation of reclaimed fibres, which occurs during the oxidative char removal step of most pyrolysis-based reclamation techniques. The review evaluates the various methodologies employed with particular focus on the physical, mechanical, and chemical properties of the reclaimed fibres, and the environmental impact of using superheated steam for carbon fibre reclamation as determined by life cycle assessment. Superheated steam studies report recovering carbon fibres with retained tensile moduli of around 90%–100% and tensile strengths of 65%–100% when compared to virgin carbon fibres, however, when optimised it is shown that carbon fibres can be recovered with no loss in stiffness and strength. Most studies are still at laboratory- or pilot-scale, however, several companies are collaborating with researchers to investigate the potential of this reclamation method on a larger scale. Corporate social responsibility is a developing approach that any organization can implement for sustainability. Higher education institutions (HEIs) are implementing this strategy in the current climate to improve their quality of education and sustainability, which aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Agenda for 2023. The current research examines the critical role of university social responsibility (USR) in sustainable knowledge sharing via the mediation effects of collaborative climate and entrepreneurial orientation. We obtained our dataset from 456 Saudi public and 605 private university students. SmartPLS4 findings showed that USR significantly affects collaborative climate, entrepreneurial orientation, and sustainable knowledge sharing. The multi-group analysis results show that collaborative climate and entrepreneurial orientation partially mediated the USR-knowledge-sharing linkage in favor of private university students. Power Plants (PPs) is considered as critical facilities in each region because of essential role through energy generation processes. These facilities are also depended to water availability especially in water stress areas. Due to the critical water shortage in many areas around the world, it is necessary to make an optimal condition among water consumption and the increasing demand for electricity to prevent any further conflict of interests between industry, householders and the environmental goals. There are different techniques for controlling Water Consumption (WC) in these industries. This paper develops a smart Decision Support System (DSS) for monitoring, prediction and control sections based on Artificial Intelligent (AI) and integration of the PESTEL matrix and Multi Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods. Monitoring section comprises Fuel Consumption (FC), Atmospheric Temperature (AT), Power Plant Temperature (PPT) and Power Plant Efficiency (PPE), in which FC has the most influence on WC based on ANOVA evaluations in both cold and warm seasons. The prediction results have illustrated that Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System model is more efficient for the WC estimation with a correlation coefficient over 0.99. Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) also demonstrated that in the optimistic and pessimistic states, the most priority is linked to E3 (Establishment of evaporation control systems by contractor companies and concluding a guaranteed purchase contract with a power plant worth one and a half times the current amount of water price). In the last step of technical approaches, the smart controlling system is added for execution of water-energy nexus in the PP based on proportional–integral–derivative controller system. Finally, the performance of the DSS is approved with more than 80% agreement of experts and more than 90% precision in prediction procedure through this investigation. The sterilization of raw ready-to-eat aquatic products is a crucial method for ensuring their safety for consumption after production. However, achieving intelligent decision-making and higher sterilization efficiency remains a technical challenge. In this paper, an intelligent ultraviolet c radiation (UVC) pulse sterilization system for raw ready-to-eat aquatic products processing lines is presented. The objective of intelligently classifying and grading aquatic products in an automated production line and then sterilizing them is attained. On the basis of the thermal radiation perspective factor method, an irradiation prediction model for the columnar pulsed UVC field is developed, and an automated decision model for the UVC sterilization level is developed in conjunction with the hierarchical analysis method. Automatic control of the UVC lamp is achieved with precision. Using a combination of direct measurements and simulation calculations, the accuracy of the prediction structure is verified. In addition, the system's key model, the UVC intensity decision model, was evaluated, and the results indicated that the decision model had an error rate of 13.3% in the sterilization of raw ready-to-eat aquatic products and that the system's sterilization rate could reach approximately 95%. In the Chemical Process Industry (CPI) only hydrogen production from steam methane reforming produces more greenhouse gas emissions than light olefins production. Various solutions have been proposed to reduce the CO2 emissions from olefins production. It is not clear which solution is best, particularly when you consider other sustainability factors. In this paper we report the results of our cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment (LCA) of three highly promising solutions: a so-called low-emission steam cracking furnace, the electrically driven RotoDynamic reactor (RDR), and a blue hydrogen-fired furnace. Life cycle inventory data is obtained from a first principles model for steam cracking, validated with industrial data, and combined with data obtained from process simulation. Our study shows that if the electrical supply is grey then the RDR-based cracking process has a 41% higher impact on climate change than the reference base case, a conventional plant with state-of-the-art furnaces. The low-emission furnace is only 7.2% higher. When using a mixed electrical grid, like Belgium's, the climate change impact for the RDR is 1.5% higher and the low emission furnace is 6.6% lower. With a grid that uses fully renewable power generation the RDR solution is an impressive 27% lower than the base case and the low-emission furnace 17% lower. We also analysed the impact of firing the furnaces with blue hydrogen from (a) a conventional steam-methane reformer and (b) an innovative gas-heated reformer: both (a) and (b) using carbon capture and storage (CCS). The climate change impact is reduced by 8% and 18% respectively compared to the base case. Thermal oxidation and ultraviolet exposure cause complex micro-scale chemical changes in asphalt binders, leading to severe deterioration of pavements. The aging-induced evolution of nanoscale domains in asphalt binders was investigated using multiple nanoscale characterizations. This in turn provides insights to develop means of alleviating the aging of asphalt binders to extend pavement service life. The chemical composition, surface topography, and mechanical properties of four asphalt binders (base asphalt and modified asphalt with bio-oils and crumb rubber) are investigated by atomic force microscopy during thermal aging and UV aging and a combination thereof. It was shown that the three domains in the asphalt binder react differently to aging. Abundant carbonyl and sulfoxide compositions are observed in the aged base asphalt binder, which is mainly generated and concentrated in the para domains. The addition of rubber and bio-modified rubber reduces the formation of aging-related compositions in para domains, thereby enhancing the aging resistance of asphalt binder. Aging also significantly changes the surface roughness and domain structures of asphalt binders. Furthermore, it was shown that the domain stability during thermal aging and UV aging can be enhanced by crumb rubber and bio-oils, respectively. Nano-mechanical characterization shows the surface of asphalt binders becomes stiffer, and its adhesion is reduced after aging. Significant reduction (up to 26%) in latter aging indicators was observed with the bio-modifier used in rubberized asphalt. This paper provides insights pertaining to the aging-induced evolution of asphalt binders while examining the efficacy of bio-modification of rubberized asphalt to delay aging. Hybrid AC/DC urban microgrids (HUMG) have emerged as a candidate solution to reliably, efficiently, and economically meet the increasing consumer electric demand and to ensure the quality of delivered power. Smart buildings (SB) are prevalent prosumers in HUMGs. To effectively utilise renewable resources in SBs, it is imperative to have assistance from battery energy storage systems (BESSs). Also, uncertainty in generation and demand necessitates real-time ancillary power support for SBs. Smart building interconnection forming SB clusters is an emerging solution for providing ancillary power support. Existing SB interconnection topologies require multiple power conversion stages, additional infrastructure, and underutilise the existing AC grid infrastructure. Most of these SB interconnections are not sustainable due to higher losses from more power conversion stages, increased cost, and excessive dependence on BESSs. A composite transmission system-based ancillary power dispatching architecture (CTS-APDA) for the sustainable operation of SB clusters is proposed in this paper. A multi-agent system based hierarchical control and decision logic in the CTS-APDA ensures the optimal ustilisation of battery resources. The operation of the proposed CTS-APDA and its efficacy as a fast-acting ancillary support is validated through extensive case studies. A composite index based on selected indicators is a widely used tool for guiding, monitoring, and evaluating a society's level of sustainability. However, determining the weight of each indicator is typically a methodologically problematic and highly controversial process. This paper proposes a weightless strategy for constructing composite sustainability indices based on the mathematical optimization concept of Pareto fronts. The core idea is to model each indicator as an individual objective and explore Pareto fronts within the resulting multi-objective solution space. In practice, a total of 24 typical implementations of the strategy were realized to represent four categories with varying parameter settings, i.e., straightforward/hierarchical implementations with/without avoiding basic indicator accuracy issues. Comparative experiments demonstrated that a hierarchical approach utilizing the goodness of variance fit-based (GVF = 0.80) natural breaks to nullify accuracy problems is the most effective implementation. To demonstrate its usefulness, the strategy implemented using this approach was applied to analyze the world's sustainability by revising the well-known sustainable society index. Chalcogenides, a promising class of electrode materials, attracted massive popularity owing to their exciting features of high conductive nature, high capacity, rich redox activities, and structural functionalities, making them the first choice for the electrochemical energy domain. This paper reported a new NiSe 2 –CuSe nanocomposite prepared via a wet-chemical synthesis followed by a low-cost and simple hydrothermal reaction. The physical characterization showed cubes and nanoparticles type morphological features of NiSe 2 and CuSe products, while their composite reveals a combined morphological characteristic. The electrochemical properties were tested in an aqueous solution, demonstrating that the NiSe 2 –CuSe nanocomposite exhibits a high capacity of 376 C g−1, low resistance, good reversibility and rate capability in a three-electrode mode than bulk counterparts. For practical aspects, a battery-hybrid supercapacitor (BHSC) is developed with NiSe 2 –CuSe nanocomposite, and activated carbon (AC) serves as cathode and anode in two-cell mode operation. The built NiSe 2 –CuSe||AC/KOH BHSC expanded the voltage to 1.8 V and delivered the highest capacitance of 148 F g−1 and 55 F g−1 from 1 to 10 A g−1, suppressing most of the previously existing literature reports. Also, our built NiSe 2 –CuSe||AC/KOH BHSC displayed a high-power delivery of 8928 W kg−1 at a maximum energy density of 66.6 W h kg−1 and retained 91.7% capacitance after a long way of 10,000 cycles. These outstanding results demonstrate that metal selenides can be effectively utilized as alternative electrodes with high energy, rate performance, and long-term durability for advanced energy conversion and storage devices. Industries are in great need for process-apt proteases due to environmental concerns. But the major bottlenecks in the use of enzymes in industrial processes are their lack of specificity for a particular application on one hand and their insufficient stability on the other. Moreover, the high diversity and complexity of proteases create new challenges on the analytical front necessitating the utilization of distinct techniques. This review paper attempts to provide a comprehensive perspective on the significance of protease specificity and stability with respect to various industrial contexts. An overview of the relevant progressive experimental characterization approaches along with predictive computational tools to profile protease specificity and stability with illustrative examples has also been attempted. Furthermore, it explores the efforts on the utilization of enzyme engineering and immobilization techniques to optimize the performance of industrial proteases based on specific process demands with case studies. Finally, the specific areas warranting attention in their enzyme production sector and the utilization of various technical domains in enzyme technology have been highlighted. Thorough characterization of protease specificity and stability is crucial for designing and optimizing industrial process-apt proteases; resulting in improved product quality with enhanced functionality and process efficiency with reduced waste generation and better energy efficiency. Such improved proteases would enable the targeted industries in greening their production methods in a sustainable manner. Self-healing is a biological phenomenon in which living organism responds to the suffered damage in a complex way. Inspired by the self-healing phenomenon in nature, various biomimetic healing methods rooted in intrinsic or extrinsic healing mechanisms have been explored. Research on novel self-healing asphalt materials with intelligent response is at the cutting-edge of materials science and offers a potential strategy for building long-life and low-carbon asphalt concrete infrastructure. This paper describes the progress of research on extrinsic self-healing asphalt materials and makes a clear distinction between intrinsic and extrinsic self-healing. The asphalt self-healing mechanism is interpreted by capillary flow theory, phase field theory, molecular diffusion theory and surface energy theory form various perspective. The extrinsic self-healing strategies including thermal induced healing and rejuvenator induced healing are proposed to enhance the healing level of cracked asphalt materials. A brief review of the methods including fracture-healing test and fatigue-healing test for assessing the efficacy of different extrinsic healing methods is presented. The thermal induced healing method bring high crack repair efficiency for asphalt concrete and the rejuvenator induced healing strategy not only improve the healing ratio of cracked asphalt concrete but also regenerate the ageing asphalt in situ. Spray-applied fire-resistive materials (SFRMs) are one of the most commonly used passive fire protection materials due to their low thermal conductivity, lightweight, cost-effectiveness, and ease of application. Gypsum and Portland cement are commonly used in SFRMs to bind lightweight fillers and fibres. Due to the wide application of SFRMs, their production consumes large amounts of natural and non-renewable resources and contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. This paper investigates the feasibility of using industrial by-products (e.g., fly ash) and waste materials (e.g., waste glass) to manufacture SFRMs with the aim of reducing the environmental impact. Accordingly, three SFRMs with different densities were developed utilising fly ash blended cement (FAC) and expanded glass. The use of FAC significantly reduced the use of Portland cement by 81% and achieved a 28-day compressive strength of 33.8–46.3 MPa for the binder. The developed SFRMs had average densities of 345 kg/m3, 560 kg/m3, and 698 kg/m3 for low-, medium-, and high-density groups, respectively. The compressive strengths of the SFRMs ranged from 747 kPa to 888 kPa, 6188 kPa to 7314 kPa, and 2343 kPa to 3535 kPa for the corresponding three groups, respectively. Additionally, the bond strengths of the corresponding SFRMs are 14.4 kPa–19.3 kPa (low-density), 34 kPa–40.9 kPa (medium-density), and 51.5 kPa–85.1 kPa (high-density), respectively. All the tested SFRMs met the requirements for density, compressive strength, bond strength, and non-combustibility. The thermal properties of the developed SFRMs were comparable to those of commercially available cementitious-based SFRMs in the same density group. In addition, using FAC instead of Portland cement could reduce carbon emissions by 68.4% and save costs by 38.4% in the Australian context. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
