Osteoarthritis is an age-related degenerative joint disease; it is mainly because the cartilage tissue between bones is worn and thinned, which leads to the damage of the periosteum and bone including the surrounding ligaments. Clinically, its manifestations are mainly joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and even partial loss of function, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. The main clinical manifestations are elbow joint pain and limited movement. Elbow articular cartilage degenerates and falls off, and the more serious manifestation is subchondral hyperosteogeny and sclerosis, which leads to unsmooth articular surface and narrow joint space. Finally, elbow joint pain is severe with different degrees of mobility disorder, elbow joint extension and flexion range is getting smaller and smaller, and elbow joint pain is getting more and more serious. In this paper, the segmentation of left and right elbow images is completed based on gray projection through the analysis of image gray distribution. After obtaining the region of interest of elbow joint, the extraction algorithm of elbow joint hard bone edge is studied. Firstly, the extraction of elbow joint hard bone contour edge is completed based on active shape model algorithm combined with image characteristics. Finally, according to the extraction results of hard bone contour edge, this paper realizes the automatic diagnosis of multiple elbow arthritis indexes and compares with the results given by the image set, which proves that the whole algorithm has good adaptability and accuracy. With the improvement of people's attention to health, basketball is a sport that can strengthen the body and deeply loved by people. However, basketball involves a lot of physical activity and a quick stop technique, which increases the risk of arthritis. The reason for this paper is to concentrate on the utilization of nanotube joined restoration treatment in the treatment of knee joint pain in basketball players. This paper first introduces the structure and properties of carbon nanotubes, analyzes the pathology of knee arthritis and the causes of knee arthritis in basketball players, and discussed the knee arthritis rehabilitation treatment method. According to the diagnostic criteria of osteoarthritis and the significant incorporation and rejection measures, a sum of 50 patients with knee osteoarthritis were chosen as the review subjects and separated into test gathering and control bunch. The benchmark group was treated with conventional electroacupuncture, and the exploratory gathering was treated with nanotubes as repair materials for knee arthritis. The experimental results show that the application of nanotube combined rehabilitation therapy in the treatment of knee arthritis in basketball players is practical to a certain extent. The total score of WOMAC in the two groups after treatment decreased to a certain extent compared with that before treatment, but the difference in the experimental group was more obvious, and the difference was significant after statistical analysis (P < 0.05). Gouty arthritis, one of the most severe and common forms of arthritis, is characterized by monosodium urate crystal deposition in joints and surrounding tissues. Epidemiological evidence indicates that gouty arthritis incidence is sharply rising globally. Polyphenols are found in many foods and are secondary metabolites in plant foods. The anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant effects of food polyphenols have been extensively studied in many inflammatory chronic diseases. Research has suggested that many food polyphenols have excellent anti‐gouty arthritis effects. The mechanisms mainly include (a) inhibiting xanthine oxidase activity; (b) reducing the levels of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines; (c) inhibiting the activation of signaling pathways and the NLRP3 inflammasome; and (d) reducing oxidative stress. This paper reviews the research progress and pathogenesis of gouty arthritis and introduces the mechanisms of food polyphenols in treating gouty arthritis, which aims to explore the potential of functional foods in the treatment of gouty arthritis. Practical applications: The incidence rate of gouty arthritis has increased sharply worldwide, which has seriously affected people's quality of life. According to the current research progress, food polyphenols alleviate gouty arthritis through anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant effects. This paper reviews the research progress and molecular pathogenesis of gouty arthritis and introduces the mechanisms of food‐derived polyphenols in the treatment of gouty arthritis, which is helpful to the prevention and treatment of gouty arthritis. Chronic pain is common in older people. However, little is known about how pain is experienced in residents of retirement villages ('villages'), and how pain intensity and associations are experienced in relation to characteristics of residents and village living. We thus aimed to examine pain levels, prevalence and associated factors in village residents. The current paper is a cross‐sectional analysis of baseline data from the 'Older People in Retirement Villages' study in Auckland, New Zealand. Between July 2016 and August 2018, 578 village residents were interviewed face‐to‐face by gerontology nurse specialists, using interRAI Community Health Assessment (CHA) and customised survey. We used a validated pain scale and multivariable logistic regression analyses adjusted for pre‐specified confounders. Residents' median age was 82 years; 420 (73%) were female; 270 (47%) exhibited/reported daily pain, and in 11% this was severe. After controlling for confounders, daily pain was positively associated with self‐reported arthritis (OR = 3.88, 95% CI = 2.57–5.87), poor/fair self‐reported health (OR = 3.19, 95% CI = 1.29–7.93), having no health clinic on‐site (OR = 1.76, 95% CI = 1.10–2.83), and minimal fatigue (diminished energy but completes normal day‐to‐day activities) (OR = 1.77, 95% CI = 1.11–2.81). Similar associations were observed for levels of pain. We conclude that levels of pain and prevalence of daily pain are high in village residents. Self‐reported arthritis, self‐reported poor/fair health, no health clinic on‐site and minimal fatigue are all independently associated with a higher risk of daily pain and with levels of pain. This study suggests potential opportunities for villages to better provide on‐site support to decrease prevalence and severity of pain for their residents, and thus potentially increase wellbeing and quality‐of‐life, though as we cannot prove causality, more research is needed. Shoulder arthritis is one of the most common injuries of professional volleyball players. It needs shoulder force to buckle, block, and bounce, which leads to frequent shoulder injuries. In addition, the late rehabilitation treatment is not in place, which will seriously affect the performance of volleyball players' skills. Periarthritis of the shoulder is referred to as frozen shoulder, commonly known as congealed shoulder and fifty shoulder. The shoulder pain gradually develops, worse at night, and gradually increases, and the shoulder joint movement function is limited and increasingly aggravated. After reaching a certain level, it gradually relieves and finally fully recovers as the main manifestations of the shoulder joint capsule and its surrounding ligaments and tendons. Shoulder periarthritis is a common condition in which shoulder pain and inconvenience are the main symptoms. This paper studies the application of nanomaterials combined with sports rehabilitation therapy in the treatment of shoulder arthritis of volleyball players. We selected 50 volleyball players with shoulder arthritis injuries, randomly assigned nanomaterials combined with sports rehabilitation therapy as the experimental group and traditional sports rehabilitation therapy as the control group, 25 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with nanomaterials combined with sports rehabilitation, while the control group was treated with traditional sports recovery methods for 5 weeks. Nanomaterials have a certain uniqueness. When the scale of matter is small to a certain extent, quantum mechanics must be used instead of traditional mechanics to describe its behavior. When the particle size of the powder is reduced from 10 microns to 10 nanometers, its particle size is 1000 times, and when converted into volume, it will be 10 times the 9th power, so there will be obvious differences in the behavior of the two. The physical examination of the two groups of volleyball players' shoulder joint visual analogue scale (VAS) pain score and shoulder joint isokinetic detection (including shoulder joint extension and adduction, shoulder joint flexion and extension, and shoulder joint movement to 90° shape) is compared. The results showed that the VAS score of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05), and the isokinetic test of the experimental group was better than that of the control group (P < 0.05). After exercise rehabilitation training for shoulder joint dysfunction, the average strength and activation of 10 muscles were improved, among which the lower trapezius, the middle trapezius, and the serratus anterior were significantly improved. It can be seen that as an effective treatment of shoulder arthritis, nanomaterials combined with sports rehabilitation therapy can not only accelerate the rapid recovery of volleyball players after injury but also effectively prevent the occurrence of arthritis symptoms, so that volleyball players can give full play to their skills on the court. In recent years, rainstorm disasters caused by global warming have frequently occurred in China. It has caused serious damage to artificial high embankments. In this paper, the influence of rainfall intensity, slope, and reinforced layers on the erosion and destruction of the artificial high embankment is deeply analyzed. Through the model test, the rainfall erosion prediction model is established. The results show that (1) the gully width, depth, and erosion amount increased with the increase in rainfall intensity and slope and decreased with the increase in reinforcement layers; (2) the final ditch shape of the embankment is influenced by steel bars; and (3) according to the model test data, the mathematical model of dike scouring is established. Background. Third-generation aromatase inhibitors (AIs) are the mainstay of treatment in hormone receptor (HR)-positive breast cancer. Even though it is considered to be a well-tolerated therapy, AI-induced musculoskeletal symptoms are common and may be accused for treatment discontinuation. Recently, selective cyclin-dependent kinase 4 and 6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors changed the therapeutic setting, and currently, ribociclib, palbociclib, and abemaciclib are all approved in combination with nonsteroidal AIs in patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. This systematic review aims to identify the frequency of aromatase inhibitor-associated musculoskeletal syndrome (AIMSS) in the adjuvant setting in patients under AI monotherapy compared to patients under combination therapy with AIs and CDK4/6 inhibitors and demonstrate the underlying mechanism of action. Methods. This study was performed in accordance with PRISMA guidelines. The literature search and data extraction from all randomized clinical trials (RCTs) were done by two independent investigators. Eligible articles were identified by a search of MEDLINE and ClinicalTrial.gov database concerning the period 2000/01/01–2021/05/01. Results. Arthralgia was reported in 13.2 to 68.7% of patients receiving AIs for early-stage breast cancer, while arthralgia induced by CDK4/6 inhibitors occurred in a much lower rate [20.5–41.2%]. Bone pain (5–28.7% vs. 2.2–17.2%), back pain (2–13.4% vs. 8–11.2%), and arthritis (3.6–33.6% vs. 0.32%) were reported less frequently in patients receiving the combination of CDK4/6 inhibitors with ET. Conclusions. CDK4/6 inhibitors might have a protective effect against joint inflammation and arthralgia occurrence. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a disease due to the aging of the articular cartilage, a post‐mitotic tissue that stays functioning until primary homeostatic processes fail. Because of pain and disability, OA significantly influences national healthcare expenses and patient quality of life. It is a whole‐joint illness characterized by inflammatory and oxidative signaling pathways and significant epigenetic alterations that cause cartilage extracellular matrix degradation. The canonical Wnt pathway (Wnt/β‐catenin pathway) and nuclear factor kappa B (NF‐κB) signaling pathways may function in joint tissues by modulating the activity of synovial cells, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes. However, finding innovative ways to treat osteoarthritis and get the joint back to average balance is still a struggle. Nutraceuticals are dietary supplements that promote joint health by balancing anabolic and catabolic signals. New therapeutic methods for OA treatment have been developed based on many research findings that show nutraceuticals have strong anti‐inflammation, antioxidant, anti–bone resorption, and anabolic properties. For the treatment of osteoarthritis, we explore the possible involvement of nutraceuticals that target the Wnt/β‐catenin and NF‐κB pathways. Practical applications: In keeping with the aging population, osteoarthritis is becoming more widespread. In this extensive research, we studied the role of the Wnt/β‐catenin and NF‐κB pathway in OA formation and progression. Nutraceuticals that target these OA‐related signaling pathways are a viable therapy option. Wnt/β‐catenin and NF‐κB signaling pathway are inhibited by polyphenols, flavonoids, alkaloids, and vitamins from the nutraceutical category, making them possible therapeutic drugs for OA therapy. Arthritis is a long‐term musculoskeletal disease, requiring ongoing management. However, the financial burden of managing arthritis is under‐explored and is yet to be quantified from the perspective of individuals with the condition. Using an exploratory observational design, this study aimed to quantify arthritis‐related costs borne by a sample of working‐age adults aged 18–50 years who responded to the study advertisement. Participants completed a weekly cost diary for 6 weeks, detailing their personal non‐reimbursed (out‐of‐pocket) arthritis‐related costs. Financial distress was measured using the InCharge Financial Distress/Financial Well‐Being Scale. Costs data were analysed descriptively. Mann–Whitney U tests were used to examine relationships between residential location or employment status and out‐of‐pocket costs. Linear regression and Spearman's rho were used to estimate relationships between age or years since diagnosis and out‐of‐pocket costs, and between out‐of‐pocket costs and financial distress respectively. Sixteen adults (median age 40 years, 100% female) with a range of arthritis conditions (median (IQR): 8 (7.5) years since diagnosis) including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis completed the six‐week cost diary. All participants reported out‐of‐pocket expenditure related to arthritis. The median per‐person expenditure across the 6 weeks was AUD 1635. The highest reported costs per participant across the 6 weeks were for medical expenses (median AUD 197) and allied health appointments (median AUD 190). In total, the cohort spent AUD 15,272 across the study period. Perceived financial distress was high: median (IQR) financial distress 7 (2.25) on a 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) scale. Positive relationships between age and costs, and between costs and financial distress were identified. These findings help us understand fiscal expenditure and related distress relevant to younger individuals with arthritis, and can be used to raise awareness of their financial concerns. Knee arthritis is one of the common diseases with the highest incidence in osteoarthrosis, which seriously affects people's health, and as the patient's medical history prolongs, the pain degree becomes more and more serious. In recent years, with the rapid development of nanotechnology, its application scope has gradually been involved the medical field. The application of nanotube-targeted drugs to treat osteoarthritis can repair bone to a certain extent and relieve patient pain symptom. Sports rehabilitation therapy, as an important nursing method in orthopedic treatment, can improve the patient's body recovery ability and enhance the therapeutic effect of surgery. Based on this, this article proposes the application research of a nanotube combined with exercise rehabilitation therapy in the treatment of patients with knee arthritis. The research carried out in this article is mainly divided into three parts: the first part is the research of titanium dioxide nanotubes in orthopedic treatment, studying the diameter and drug loading of nanotubes, research on how to target the damaged bone tissue and release drugs, and discussing the tissue compatibility and safety of nanotubes to the human body; the second part is the study on exercise rehabilitation therapy in orthopedic treatment and study on how to exercise properly to enhance the patient's body recovery; the third part is clinical investigation and research, according to the observation group in contrast with the indicators of the control group to draw conclusions. The results of this experiment show that in the clinical treatment of knee arthritis surgery, in the analysis of postoperative patients, the scores of the three groups of patients before treatment were relatively low, with scores ranging from 5 to 8, but the scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the first and second groups. The observation group ranged from 7 to 10. The joint scores of the observation group gradually increased at 1 week and 2 weeks after treatment. The increase in functional score was more pronounced. For patients with a longer medical history, perform appropriate helping exercises. Titanium dioxide nanotubes have good antibacterial properties as an endoplant and good histocompatibility with human bones. In the observation group combined with exercise therapy, various complications such as pain, swelling, and muscle atrophy were relatively small, allowing the patient to speed up the recovery of various body functions. An ultraperformance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method was established to simultaneously determine 14 compounds of Angelicae pubescentis Radix (APR) in normal and arthritis rat plasma in which chloramphenicol and daidzein were used as the internal standards. After protein precipitation with acetonitrile, separation was carried out on a Thermo Hypersil GOLD C18 column using gradient elution with 0.1% formic acid aqueous and acetonitrile consisting as the mobile phase at a flowing rate of 0.3 mL/min. A Thermo TSQ QUANTIS triple quadrupole mass spectrometer was used to detect 14 compounds in positive/negative ion exchange mode and this study was the first to investigate the pharmacokinetic changes of the active compounds in rats under the pathological state of arthritis. The method was verified and the results showed that the intra- and interday precision, accuracy, matrix effect, and extraction recovery were all acceptable, and the analytes were stable under different storage conditions. In addition, the pharmacokinetic behaviors of the 14 compounds were significantly different in model rats compared with normal rats. This indicated that the pharmacokinetic behavior of drugs will vary with the pathological state of the body, which suggested that individualized and reasonable drug administration plans should be formulated for different pathological states in clinical practice. As a kind of nanotechnology, nanomaterials have made great progress in recent years, among which nanotube is one of the most representative new nanomaterials. Knee arthritis, as a degenerative bone disease, often occurs in the elderly. According to statistics, the incidence of knee arthritis in China is between 3 and 15 percent, among which the incidence of the elderly over 65 years old is as high as 68 percent. The purpose of this study is to explore the application effect of the rehabilitation therapy of nanotube combined with roller skater in the treatment of knee arthritis and promote the continuous improvement of clinical treatment effect of knee joint. In this study, by comparing the curative effect of the roller skates combined with nanotubes in the rehabilitation treatment group and the control group, the clinical treatment effects of the two groups were comprehensively evaluated and evaluating the comprehensive effects of nanotubes combined with roller skates from various angles of a comprehensive role of rehabilitation therapy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, to give full play to the advantages of nanotubes and rehabilitation therapy, promote the continuous improvement of treatment, and provide important guidance for the clinical treatment of knee arthritis, thereby improving the therapeutic effect. The results showed that the total effective dose was 82.61% in the control group and 97.83% in the observation group. Before and after the treatment, the therapeutic effect of the nanotube drug treatment group was improved by about 40%, and the therapeutic effect of the observation group of rehabilitation therapy with nanotube combined wheel athletes was increased by about 42%. It indicates that compared with the single treatment, the rehabilitation therapy of the nanotube combined with roller skater greatly improves the therapeutic effect of knee arthritis. A 49-year-old man developed acute aseptic arthritis of the nonmigratory and asymmetrical type in his knee, ankle, and bilateral metatarsal joints 13 days after treatment with antibiotics for acute tonsillitis. He was diagnosed with tonsillitis-related arthritis after other rheumatic diseases were ruled out. Treatment with salazosulfapyridine, methotrexate, and methylprednisolone for 3 months did not completely improve. Then, tonsillectomy was undertaken and arthritis rapidly improved. Finegoldia magna (previously Peptostreptococcus magnus) was cultured from the microabscesses of the resected tonsils. After outpatient follow-up, the patient did not experience a relapse of arthritis for more than 2.7 years without any treatment. Poststreptococcal reactive arthritis (PSRA) is well described. However, up to 40% of patients with tonsillitis-related arthritis did not demonstrate evidence of streptococcal infection. It is noted that tonsillectomy is necessary to remove the tonsillar microabscesses and eradicate bacterial infection of the tonsils, especially for patients with a prolonged and/or recurrent course of PSRA and/or tonsillitis-related arthritis. Chronic musculoskeletal health conditions are highly prevalent in rural and remote areas, globally. It is unknown, however, whether interventions shown to be effective for urban populations are also effective for rural and remote populations. The purpose of the review was to evaluate the effectiveness of community‐based interventions for management of chronic musculoskeletal health conditions in rural and remote populations. A systematic review was undertaken of the major databases: Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, Rural and Remote Health, Embase and PEDro to April 2020 with no restrictions on language or publication date. Odds Ratios were calculated to report differences between intervention and control groups. Risk of bias was assessed using the PEDro scale. Meta‐analysis was not conducted, given the high heterogeneity among studies. From a total of 3,219 articles identified from the title search, five studies were eligible, with a total of 2,831 participants. Interventions evaluated included education alone, exercise with education and ergonomic modifications. Community‐based education and exercise led to significantly reduced chronic musculoskeletal pain [OR = 1.85 (95% CI 1.22, 2.82)] compared with controls. Ergonomic stove installation significantly reduced average prevalence of back pain (0.25% reduction in pain prevalence; p <.05); however, no significant effect [OR = 1.02 (0.63, 1.65)] was found when transformed to Odds Ratio. There were divergent findings for education programmes alone: one study reported a positive effect [OR = 1.78 (1.27, 2.49)], while another reported no significant effect [delivered either in home [OR: 1.21 (0.78, 1.86)] or in small groups [OR = 0.95 (0.60, 1.51)]. A significant improvement in knowledge was found with community‐based education delivered in participants' homes [SMD: 1.27 (1.01, 1.54)], in small groups [SMD: 0.79 (0.53, 1.06)], using traditional puppetry [SMD: 4.79 (4.51, 5.06)], and with education and exercise [SMD: 0.29 (0.06, 0.52)]. There is low quality evidence that education and/or exercise improves knowledge of arthritis, and the effectiveness of ergonomic interventions on pain was unclear. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since 2013, there have been an increasing number of cases of arthritis in broilers caused by avian orthoreovirus (ARV) in China, and the virus remains highly virulent in chicks with high‐level maternal antibodies. However, little information is available about the complete gene analysis and pathogenicity of the epidemic ARVs. In the study, the ARV strain (V‐ARV‐SD26) was isolated from broilers associated with arthritis in Shandong Province. To genetically characterize the ARV strain, the whole‐genome sequencing was conducted by next‐generation sequencing (NGS) technique. Sequence analysis demonstrated that V‐ARV‐SD26 might have acquired its current genomic composition through several homologous and, in case of the λC, μA and σB, divergent reassortment events. To further investigate the pathogenicity of the strain, 160 one‐day‐old Ross broilers with maternal antibodies were equally divided into four groups (foodpad‐, eye mucosa‐ and intramuscular‐inoculated groups and the negative control group), three experimental groups were inoculated separately with the low‐dose virus fluid, and the negative control was equally inoculated with sterile PBS. The results showed that the symptoms of broilers in foodpad inoculation group were the most serious, while that of the eye mucosa infection group were the mildest. Meanwhile, the cloacal cotton swabs and organs were collected for qRT‐PCR detection to evaluate the infection status. In conclusion, these findings indicate that V‐ARV‐SD26 is a divergent ARV strain, which provide experimental data for the prevention and control of newly emerged reovirus, and have a certain reference value for the preparation and evaluation of new vaccines. The high prevalence of trapeziometacarpal arthritis has resulted in the development of several surgical techniques intended to treat patients failing conservative treatment. However, there is no scientific evidence of the superiority of one technique over others. Open arthrodesis has up to now been successfully used to treat this condition. We believe that performing the technique using a minimally invasive approach with long and short Shannon burrs together with the tapered burr included in the MIS foot instrument set can yield satisfactory results. This article provides a description of this minimally invasive technique performed on a seventy-year-old woman with rhizarthrosis and an anatomical description of the approach in a human cadaver. Tailings dams are high-potential-energy dams built to store various ore tailings, and the overtopping failure caused by hydraulic erosion is one of the most common failure modes. The characteristics of hydraulic erosion of the reinforced tailings were studied by using the self-made erosion apparatus with four kinds of reinforcement spacing 2.5, 1.7, 1.3, and 1.0 cm, respectively. The test results show a positive correlation between the reinforcement spacing and erosion rate of tailings. Based on the sediment scouring theory, the scouring constant in the erosion rate formula is determined to be 0.056 mm/s; a prediction model for the hydraulic erosion rate of reinforced tailings is established by introducing the collapse coefficient into the results of the overflow test of reinforced tailings. Osteoclast, which mediates overactive bone resorption, is one of the key factors for bone destruction in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Existing studies have shown that abnormal miR-143-3p expression was observed in both RA patients and arthritis animals, which can participate in osteoclast differentiation, and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway was closely related to osteoclast differentiation. The primary objective of the current study was to determine the role of miR-143-3p in the progression of osteoclast differentiation and its relationship with MAPK signaling pathways. The results showed that miR-143-3p inhibited osteoclast differentiation and decreased the levels of M-CSF and RANKL during osteoclast differentiation. miR-143-3p inhibited the expression of MAPK signaling proteins, which is ERK1/2 in the early stage and JNK in the later stage of osteoclast differentiation. To analyze the antierosion performance of cement-improved loess (CIL), several influencing factors have been investigated based on two different compaction methods, which include the quasi-static compaction method (QSCM) and the vertical vibration compaction method (VVCM). Then, a prediction model for the cumulative erosion mass loss (CEML) has been established. The effects of erosion on the strength deterioration of CIL were also studied. The results show that, compared with QSCM, specimens compacted using the VVCM have better antierosion performance. As the cement content and the compaction coefficient are increased by 1%, the antierosion performance is increased by 16% and 6.2%, respectively. The eroding time has a significant effect on the antierosion performance of CIL, and the CEML increases linearly with an increase in the eroding time. The compressive strength of CIL decreases significantly due to erosion, and based on the average deterioration degree of the specimens, the design criteria for strength of CIL are proposed, which can provide reference for the design of CIL.
