This integrative review aims to evaluate the experiences of health and social care practitioners with regard to how they exercise professional curiosity in child protection practice. Professional curiosity gained significant currency following the Munro Review of Child Protection (2010) in England, as a means of seeking clarity on what is happening within a family. However, a recurrent finding from child safeguarding practice reviews is that practitioners continue to struggle to exercise curiosity. This is evident within both the United Kingdom and international literature, although descriptors for the concept may differ. This study attempted to identify facilitators and barriers to applying professional curiosity to provide a greater understanding of this theoretical concept. Title and abstract review of 1428 articles identified from databases and 11 from other sources resulted in 52 papers for full‐text review. The quality of each article was appraised using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme tool for qualitative studies, the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) for quantitative/mixed method studies and the Joanna Briggs framework for theoretical/opinion papers. Key findings were recorded in the Summary Table of Literature Reviewed. Data extracts were thematically analysed. Twenty‐four papers predominantly from the UK, but also from Australia, Italy, Sweden and USA formed the data set. Overarching themes that emerged from the thematic analysis included: noticing dissonance, emitting curiosity, constructing meaning, facilitators, individual professional challenges, organisational and macro‐level influences and conceptual development. This review demonstrated that professional curiosity is multifaceted and involves a whole system approach, from empowered, knowledgeable and competent frontline practitioners to creative, innovative and empathic organisations, that value staff contributions and place the child's best interests at the forefront of service development. Kinship care and child fostering are a common practice in certain parts of Africa. This narrative review seeks to explore and thematically code the contextual circumstances in which children leave their natal homes and are fostered across Africa and the corresponding outcomes for these children. It draws on case studies from Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Namibia and other countries across the region to illustrate the diversity and cultural importance of kinship care and child fostering. These countries were selected based on their inclusion in the Thrive by Five International Program, a child rearing program promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development of children from birth to age five. The importance of kinship care and child fostering is also reinforced by outcomes from codesign workshops conducted for the Thrive by Five International Program in which parents, caregivers, and subject matter experts discussed their perspectives on child rearing practices and the challenges faced by caregivers in their home countries. The paper highlights the need to support kinship and foster caregivers in Africa with culturally adapted and place‐based child rearing programs to help ensure fostered children reach their full developmental potential. During the Ming Dynasty, China and Korea exchanged frequently and recorded a large amount of written information, which is of great value for understanding the culture of that time. The large amount of data makes it difficult to conduct quantitative analysis by researchers, which makes the analysis limited. This paper carries out a research on the cognition and analysis method of Chinese and Korean envoys to foreign cultures in Ming Dynasty based on big data analysis technology. Based on the literature research, this paper determines the ontology model establishment method to efficiently detect the written records of Chinese and Korean envoys in Ming Dynasty. The established ontology model and the improved clustering analysis method can improve the efficiency of data detection, reduce the error of data detection, and provide data basis for the research of this paper. According to the technology of big data analysis, this paper analyzes the focus and status class of Chinese and Korean envoys in Ming Dynasty and analyzes cognition of the Chinese and Korean envoys for the foreign culture. The results show that the envoys of the Chinese and Korean pay different attention to the foreign culture due to their different cognition of the foreign culture, compared with Ming Dynasty envoys, Korean envoys paid 15.3 percent less attention to geography, 19.7 percent more to history, 11.7 percent more to people, and 16 percent less to customs. This reflects the two envoys' different perceptions of the foreign culture. And the status class of the envoys exacerbates this difference. In the early Ming Dynasty, the creative diversity of Ming envoys was far lower than that of Korean envoys. As time went by, the creative diversity of Ming envoys increased. Introduction. Ethiopia has made significant efforts to enhance family planning services despite variations in the community's use of modern contraception in different parts of the country. Various studies have reported the proportion and determinant factors of adolescents' contraceptive uptake in Ethiopia. These studies are not consistent in terms of size, scope, and geographic coverage, and the results need to be systematically collated to inform policies. Therefore, this review was aimed at analyzing the findings of those primary studies to obtain more representative evidence of adolescents' contraceptive uptake in Ethiopia. Methods. Five databases (MEDLINE via PubMed, Google Scholar, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and CINAHL) were searched for papers published from January 2000 up to June 2022 in English. Of thirty eligible studies, eight papers were included in this meta-analysis. Between-study heterogeneity was evaluated by the forest plot and inconsistency index ( I 2 ). A random-effects model was used to calculate the pooled estimates of adolescents' contraceptive uptake. Results. The overall pooled proportion of adolescents' contraceptive uptake was 40% ( I 2 = 99.70 , p ≤ 0.001 ; 95 % CI = 19 , 61). Adolescents' usage of contraception was influenced by a number of factors: individual-, sociocultural-, knowledge- (about contraceptive methods), and healthcare service-related factors. Individual-related factors include the educational status of adolescents, being of young age, and the income status of adolescents' families. Sociocultural-related factors comprise discussion with the family/relatives, parent disapproval and pressure from partners, and being married or having a partner. Healthcare service-related factors include the availability of youth clubs and inconvenient service hours for SRH services. Knowing contraceptive methods and SRH services was also positively associated with adolescents' contraceptive utilization. Conclusions. The proportion of adolescents who used contraception in Ethiopia was 40%. Adolescents' use of contraceptives was influenced by a variety of factors: individual-, sociocultural-, healthcare-, and knowledge-related factors. Hence, integrated interventions targeted at tackling barriers to contraceptive uptake may be helpful to improve adolescents' contraceptive utilization in Ethiopia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a summary of the diagnosis and treatment experience formed by the working people in the long-term struggle against diseases, so it is very important to protect the intangible cultural heritage of TCM. How to extract valuable knowledge accurately and conveniently from the massive medical records of TCM is one of the important issues in the current research on the development of TCM. Due to the large amount of data of TCM medical records, many feature attributes, and diverse patterns, the existing classification technology has high computational complexity, low mining efficiency, and poor universality. Therefore, this paper proposed to quantify the medical records of TCM and obtained the main symptoms according to the improved hierarchical clustering feature selection algorithm. This paper also proposed a support vector machine (SVM) classification method using improved particle swarm algorithm to classify TCM information, which not only improves the efficiency and accuracy of TCM information classification but also discovers the potential dialectical and symptom patterns in diagnosis and treatment, so that the intangible cultural heritage protection of TCM can be developed sustainably. This paper showed that the information acquisition accuracy of the improved algorithm was very high. Before the improved algorithm was used, the accuracy of information mining for TCM was 67.90% at the highest and 65.53% at the lowest, but after using the improved algorithm, the accuracy rate of information mining for TCM was 88.02% at the highest and 82.45% at the lowest. In order to improve the effect of English culture teaching, this paper combines the real-time video image processing technology to construct an English culture teaching system. Moreover, this paper selects the image processing based on octree structure with the advantages of full 3D modeling and being updatable, flexible, and compact by comparison. At the same time, this paper analyzes the existing Gaussian-based inverse sensor model that can be used for monocular vision and improves the measurement inverse sensor model for stereo vision published by Andert. In addition, this paper deeply analyzes the influence of key parameters of the improved measurement inverse sensor model and realizes the real-time octree occupancy grid map of the improved measurement inverse sensor model. Finally, after improving the real-time video processing technology, this paper evaluates the application effect of the method proposed in this paper in English culture teaching. The experimental research results show that the real-time video processing technology proposed in this paper has a good effect in English culture teaching, and it can be applied to English culture teaching to improve the effect of English culture teaching. Chinese traditional culture is the treasure of our cultural field. In the new era, it is of great significance to give traditional culture a new life and vitality. The term "big data" is hotly debated all over the world, while the development of big data is gradually occupying all aspects of the society that people are compatible with society. It is an imperative initiative to build a cultural data system by making use of big data technology, and cultural big data can make Chinese traditional culture release more vitality. This paper analyzes the new characteristics of traditional culture development from big data in helping traditional culture inheritance and innovation and proposes new ideas and creates more possibilities for the development of traditional culture. Combining with big data technology, this paper proposes an improvement to the data sparsity problem and cold-start problem of collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm and also improves the recommendation algorithm based on association rules. The association rule technique is used to compensate for the cold-start and data sparsity problems of new users often encountered by collaborative filtering techniques; the aim is to obtain recommendation results with high user satisfaction. Experiments on traditional cultural resource datasets show that the method in this paper effectively solves the data sparsity and cold-start problems that exist in traditional collaborative filtering techniques, and the recommendation accuracy surpasses that of other methods. In order to improve the development of China's public cultural service supply field, this paper introduces the public culture of weather services with the support of network intelligence services and smart devices. This article examines the purpose of public cultural cloud services to identify current public service public culture and future development models; The results show that the average consistency indexes determined by the weight of evaluation indexes based on AHP are 0, 0, 0.514, 0.894, 1.118, 1.248, 1.344, 1.421, and 1.461, respectively. Their importance order is judged according to the degree of relative importance. According to the hierarchy and diversity of users' needs, a "multiple" development model of public digital culture cloud service is constructed. In order to better understand the current situation of Chinese public sports, this paper studies Chinese public sports. According to SATI3.2 statistics, 71 newsletters have published a total of 903 articles, of which 40 newsletters have one article, 19.7% of the newsletters have 2-9 books, and 17 magazines have more than 10 issues. The results show that by measuring data, we can better understand the current state of China's public services. This paper uses the method of bibliometric analysis to sort out and summarize the policies, characteristics, hotspots, and trends of China's public service field under the social network environment. The survey shows that the education sector has paid less for public entertainment in recent years. The research direction is system, equity, government procurement, interest, capital allocation, strategy, and supply chain. This paper highlights that the shortcomings of public sports research in our country: "public sports services" and "public sports services" are not integrated; there are many macrostudies on public service sports but few microstudies; there is no track and field research for special public groups. This paper puts forward research guidance for China's public sports services and, at the same time, strengthens the research on public services of different products of rural sports development, strengthens the research on the intelligence of sports public services, and strengthens the research on the role of public sports. In this paper, in-depth research and analysis of juvenile delinquency prevention and occupational therapy education guidance using artificial intelligence are conducted, and its response mechanism is designed in this way. Two crime type prediction algorithms based on time-crime type count vectorization and dense neural network and crime type prediction based on the fusion of dense neural network and long- and short-term memory neural network are proposed. The outputs of both are fed into a new neural network for training to achieve the fusion of the two neural networks. Among them, the use of the dense neural network can effectively fit the relationship between the constructed features and crime types. The behavioral manifestations and causes of the formation of deviant behavior in adolescents are discussed. They can only read numerical data, but there is a lot of information in the textual data that is closely related to the training effect. When experimenting, it is necessary to extract knowledge and build applications. The practical work with adolescents with deviant behaviors is again carried out from group work and casework, respectively, with problem diagnosis, needs assessment, and service plan development for specific clients, to carry out relevant practical service work. The causes of juvenile delinquency in the Internet culture are discussed in terms of the Internet environment, juvenile use of the Internet, Internet supervision, and crime prevention education, respectively. The fourth chapter focuses on the analysis of the prevention and control measures for juvenile delinquency in cyberculture. This paper aims to effectively integrate traditional art and old street culture construction by studying fuzzy algorithms. In the era of rapid technological development, traditional culture and art must keep pace with the times and combine traditional art and old street culture through more scientific algorithms through fuzzy algorithm to solve the effective integration of traditional art and old street culture in today's society. Based on the fuzzy algorithm and visualization technology, this paper checks the meaning of traditional art and collective research by analyzing the fuzzy algorithm, uses experiments to verify the theory, refines cultural symbols, and proposes activation methods to integrate traditional art and old street culture as a whole. Through the defuzzification algorithm and the hierarchical evaluation fuzzy algorithm, people's subjective evaluation of the integration of traditional art and old street culture is calculated, and the algorithm is optimized from the above aspects, which substantially contributes to the effective integration of traditional art and old street culture. National prosperity, national spiritual independence, and cultural security greatly impact the cultural self-confidence. It is also a new era issue that must be answered in building a socialist cultural power. In this paper, we scientifically define the core concepts of the imperial examination system, imperial examination culture, and imperial examination cultural heritage. We systematically discuss the connotation and extension of the imperial examination cultural heritage, analyze the positive energy and negative effects of the imperial examination culture, propose the construction of a new type of examination culture system, and innovate the content and form of the examination. We conduct an in-depth study on the modern value of the imperial examination culture in the context of cultural confidence and then construct appropriate evaluation indicators to use the deep learning model to evaluate the value. The technical principle and performance optimization method of DBN neural network are introduced and then the modern value evaluation system of imperial examination culture is constructed. The parameters of the DBN model are optimally selected through experiments. After the optimal model is trained, the sample data are input to obtain the results. The results are compared with the evaluation results of human experts to judge the performance of the model. In many cases, the results are very close to, or the same as the expert results, in some of the experiments, the accuracy of our model varied from the expert results by a small margin of up to 0.4%. Background. Occupational stress is a phenomenon affecting people worldwide. Investigating occupational stress among immigrant worker populations will unravel some of the intricacies of this condition and its psychological effects on this population. Aim. This paper conceptually examined occupational stress within the context of immigrant workers' mental health and offer an operational definition to aid nurse researchers, educators, and practitioners in assessing and managing patients and developing culturally appropriate interventions for this population. Design. Walker and Avant's eight-step concept analysis is used as an organizing framework. Data Source. MEDLINE, CINAHL, OVID, PubMed, and APA Psych Info. Review Methods. Keywords job stress, immigrant work stress, occupational stress scale, immigrant work-related stress, and mental health were used. The search yielded 142 articles; 17 were selected based on the effect of work stress on mental health. Results. This analysis found that occupational stress can be attributed to communication problems, alienation, discrimination, and barriers to work-life balance can cause negative consequences among immigrants. An operational definition is also provided. Conclusion. There is a growing need to examine closely and differentiate between occupational and acculturative stress to navigate a more profound understanding of how these conditions negatively complement each other. Increased rates of domestic violence (DV) have been associated with events such as public holidays, seasonal variations, disasters and economic crises. Sport is seen as gendered, exemplifying hegemonic masculinity and associated violence, with the link between sporting culture and violence against women well recognised. This paper reports on a systematic review of empirical research literature exploring the link between major sporting events and incidence of DV. We searched MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, SPORTDiscus and Proquest Central databases from inception to December 2020 for quantitative studies examining major sports events and reports of DV using a pre–post comparison design. Study quality was assessed using the Kmet quality assessment tool. The review identified 1445 records following duplicate removal. Once screened and assessed for eligibility, 12 studies met the inclusion criteria. Results are presented qualitatively due to the heterogeneity across studies. Most studies originated in North America and the United Kingdom, used police records as their data source for measuring incidences of DV and few looked beyond the day of the sports event for recorded incidences of DV. Studies reviewed suggested that there is an association between certain major sports events and increased reporting of DV. However, studies' findings conflicted with regards to whether increases were associated with contact sports, the rivalry between competing teams, whether the events were emotionally salient and whether alcohol was a contributing factor. In conclusion, there is limited research globally. Heterogeneity and conflicting findings mean that more research is needed to understand the associations and inform community prevention/interventions to address DV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

How women are cared for while pregnant and having a new baby can have profound and lasting effects on their health and well‐being. While mainstream maternity care systems aspire to provide care that is woman‐centred, women with fewest social and economic resources often have reduced access. Community‐based doula support programs offer complementary care for these women and are known to, on average, have positive outcomes. Less understood is how, when and why these programs work. A realist evaluation of an Australian volunteer doula program provided for women experiencing socioeconomic adversity explored these questions. The program provides free non‐medical, social, emotional, and practical support by trained doulas during pregnancy, birth and new parenting. This paper reports the testing and refinement of one program theory from the larger study. The theory, previously developed from key informant interviews and rapid realist review of literature, hypothesised that the cultural matching of woman (client) and doula led to best outcomes. This was tested in realist interviews with women and focus groups with doulas, in January–February 2020. Seven English speaking, and six Arabic speaking clients were interviewed. Two focus groups were conducted with a total of eight doulas from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Data were analysed in NVivo. The study found cultural matching to be valued by some but not all women, and only when the doula was also genuinely interested, kind, timely and reliable. These approaches (with or without cultural matching) generate trust between the doula and woman. Trust theory, reflexivity theory and social relations theory supported explanatory understanding of the causal contribution of a doula knowing what it takes to build trust, to a woman deciding to trust her doula. Grassroots innovation generates possibilities for the informal and collective production of the territory that the city itself denies, from bottom‐up solutions for sustainable development and consumption, which respond to the local situation, interests, and values of the communities involved. This paper aims to identify how grassroots innovation practices take place and are shaped in 'El Faro', a self‐built settlement at the urban border of the city of Medellín; and how these have allowed the social transformation of health and well‐being. This was done from a qualitative approach with an interpretative scope, under the case study methodology. 'El Faro' is a space built by its inhabitants, in a process that they have called "dignity and resistance", becoming the promoter of what we identify as four 'grassroots innovation practices' developed around three main issues: community water management, artistic training and the creation of community public spaces. This process has allowed them, from the capacity of agency, to understand their poverty situation and face it, modifying the conditions that reproduce it and responding to unsatisfied basic needs, based on innovative solutions that guarantee conditions of life with dignity and well‐being. Likewise, it generates mechanisms that reduce inequality because the community becomes the main driving agent for the construction of the city and the transformation of the health‐disease process, through its community assets. With a long history of more than 600 years of development, the Achang Tosa knives have always been handmade and made in strict accordance with tradition and absorbing the essence of foreign cultures. It is not only a tool or a gift, but also a "knife culture" and a local "folk culture" with local ethnic characteristics in Yunnan. In this paper, we begin our research on the Achang Tosa knives by compiling literature and conducting field research to investigate the "knife culture" jointly created by the Achang and neighboring ethnic groups by studying the forging process of the Achang Tosa knives. Three sets of specimens were prepared and the mechanical properties were determined by combining the existing isothermal quenched ductile iron (ADI) material production, and a high-speed cutting test was carried out with a CC650 ceramic tool to investigate the relationship between the machined material, tool material, and cutting dosage-surface roughness during high-speed cutting of ADI; based on the particle swarm algorithm, a theoretical model between surface roughness and cutting parameters was established to provide theoretical guidance for the optimal production process of ADI in high-speed cutting. It provides more valuable experience for the protection of intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities and also provides reference for the development and protection of unique crafts of other ethnic minorities. Under the background of the 2030 sustainable performance goal, in the sustainable performance, strategic orientation has been paid much attention because of its importance and management controllability. Whether the market-oriented strategy of enterprises can affect the legitimacy of enterprises and what kind of complex relationship exists between market orientation, legitimacy of enterprises, and enterprise performance. Therefore, from the perspective of digital theory, this paper makes an empirical test on the above problems by introducing the intermediary variable of enterprise legitimacy, so as to make up for the shortcomings of the existing research. When the time index reaches 50, among the four dimensions of the experiment, the average correlation of digital culture is 1.12, the average correlation of resource integration is 0.58, the average correlation of process optimization is 0.74, and the average correlation of technical capability is 0.64. Among the four dimensions, the proportion of digital culture is the highest, and the CITC value of each measurement item in each dimension is greater than 0.5, so the deletion of each item cannot be increased. If the enterprises under digitalization can meet the social expectations and cognition of all stakeholders in the strategic-oriented sustainable performance system, they will be recognized and accepted by them, thus gaining higher legitimacy. In the current big data environment, science and technology not only provide a new governance model for rural community governance but also put forward higher requirements for rural community governance level. Aim. To explore how Black African international students adjust to their new university environment and gain insight into how they feel supported to engage in physical activity (PA). Background. People from ethnic minority backgrounds have poor physical activity levels compared with white populations in the UK. The Black population is known to have the lowest PA levels among the ethnic minority groups in the UK. This trend is suggested to be the case among university students, but no research has examined this. Ethnic minority students, including international students, encounter adaptation difficulties such as cultural barriers and social isolation which affect their university experiences and health behaviours such as physical activity. Methodology. This was a qualitative method, with in‐depth semistructured interviews conducted with five African students (two males and three females) aged between 21 and 40 years from a university in the West Midlands. The transcribed interviews were analysed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis. Results/Findings. Culture and lifestyle of physical activity; knowledge, experience, and self‐motivation; the effect of various social groups, activities, and services at the university; and weather variations and physical settings were the identified themes. The key finding of the study is that respondents engaged in PA to a greater extent at the British university than they did in their home countries. This was due to a combination of factors, including low‐cost gym memberships and events and a general lack of racial or gender‐based discrimination. Conclusions/Recommendations. Participants expressed satisfaction with the cultural and social support systems at their university, such as sports clubs and societies, and mental health support services that encouraged them to learn about and engage more in physical activity. Although some barriers, such as weather variations, were mentioned, various indoor options coupled with cheaper gymnasiums motivated students to remain or become active. Culture in construction has recently received a lot of attention from practitioners and academia. The purpose of this study is to capture the map of culture in construction projects to provide the picture of culture in construction. This article conducted a two-stage review of culture in construction, including Scientometric analysis and content analysis. First, we carried out Scientometric analysis of 173 relevant articles (from 12 journals) to visualize the literature of culture in construction from 1989 to 2022. The results indicated that the high-published contributors of countries were Peoples R China, Australia, the USA, England, and Singapore. We also identified the critical institutions, high cited articles, keyword co-occurrence, cluster analysis, as well as the research interests and methods in this field. Moreover, we discussed the primary topics of culture in construction based on content analysis. More attention had been paid to the definition and measurement of culture in construction. The measurement of culture remains a promising and controversial area in the future due to the debate over quantitative or qualitative methods. Most of the current research studies use quantitative methods such as questionnaire surveys to explore culture in construction. In addition, scholars have called for exploring the formation of culture in construction which will help managers develop an appropriate culture within the project organisation, particularly in mega projects. Background. A tattoo is a pigment permanently deposited into the skin to create different patterns. The worldwide percentage of tattooed individuals, as well as the level of tattoo regret, complications, and removal, has increased. However, data from Saudi Arabia are lacking. Objective. To determine the rates of tattoo regret, complications, and removal among tattooed individuals in Saudi Arabia. Methods. A cross‐sectional study using an online survey was conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A link to the survey was distributed through social media and contained twenty questions about participants' demographics, tattoo practices, regret, removal, and complications. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). A P value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results. A total of 181 tattooed individuals participated in the study. Most of them were females (95.6%), and 76.7% had their first tattoo at an age over eighteen years. A total of 47.5% had one tattoo session, and the most common body site was the eyebrows (57.5%). Fifty‐eight percent regretted their tattoo, and 42.5% attempted to remove it. Upper extremity tattoos were significantly associated with regret (72.3%) (P = 0.004) and removal (56.9%) (P = 0.003). Tattoo removal was mostly due to cultural reasons (74%). Local itching (32%), pain (22.7%), and infection (10.5%) were reported and associated with tattoo regret (P < 0.05). Itching was significant in 65.4% of head and neck tattoos and 41.5% of upper extremity tattoos (P < 0.05). Participants were aware that laser is the best method for tattoo removal. Conclusion. Among tattooed individuals in Saudi Arabia, the rate of tattoo regret and removal is high, and the most reported complication is pruritus. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background. The study investigates critical care nurses' perceptions of medication administration errors (MAEs) in a tertiary hospital in Kelantan, Malaysia, within the unique sociocultural context of East-Coast Malaysia. The research aims to understand the causes and underreporting of MAEs and assess the proportion of reported incidents according to MAE types. Methods. A cross-sectional study involving 424 critical care nurses from Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZII), Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra (HSIP), and Hospital Tanah Merah (HTM) was conducted. Nurses in administrative roles or unavailable during the survey period were excluded. The study utilized a validated Medication Administration Errors Survey questionnaire to gauge nurses' perceptions on the causes of MAEs, reasons for underreporting, and the percentage of reported incidents based on MAE types. Results. Results indicate that illegible medication orders from doctors were identified as the primary cause of MAEs, while a lack of 24-hour pharmacist availability received the lowest score. The most common reason for not reporting MAEs was identified as the nursing administration's focus on individuals rather than systemic issues when errors occur. The majority of MAEs were non-intravenous, with incorrect timing of administration being the leading cause. Conclusion. The study sheds light on critical care nurses' perspectives on MAEs in a Malaysian hospital setting, highlighting key factors contributing to these errors and barriers to their reporting. Occupational therapy is a profession with origins rooted in Western values. As culture plays an important role in shaping theory and practice, the curriculum design of academic programs that train future rehabilitation professionals should reflect the local context. As part of an international partnership, a dual-degree graduate program in occupational therapy was established between a Chinese and an American university. A team composed of members from both institutions collaborated on culturally adapting an entry-level master's program in occupational therapy for China, based on a U.S. program, which welcomed its first cohort in September 2019. This article details the timeline and process of program design and adaptation from conception, through implementation to evaluation and revision, with the aim of offering a framework for curriculum adaptation of other academic programs in the U.S. and internationally. The adapted curriculum includes the program mission, vision, and philosophy; the curriculum model with program outcomes and threads; the program scope and sequence; materials and resources; and course-specific objectives, learning activities, and assessments. The authors also share lessons learned through this experience of international collaboration as well as next steps for program evaluation and sustainability. The detailed overview of this international collaboration offers suggestions for individuals and institutions seeking to develop global partnerships and adapt curricula across cultural contexts. Continuous usage behavior among millennials is crucial, yet factors influencing this behavior are not well understood. This study integrates human-computer interaction and marketing research to investigate the relationship between persuasive dialogue support (PDS), attitudinal loyalty (AL), and continuous-use intention (CI) in the context of WhatsApp. The study also examines the moderating role of four cultural dimensions: uncertainty avoidance (UA), power distance (PD), masculinity (MAS), and individualism (IND) in these relationships. Data was collected from 287 WhatsApp users in four countries, and the proposed theoretical model was tested using structural equation modelling (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that PDS has a direct positive impact on AL, which in turn leads to CI. The study also found that cultural differences can moderate the relationship between PDS and AL and between AL and CI. Therefore, app developers need to consider cultural differences when designing their products and implement persuasive design aspects to boost user loyalty and intention to use. To ensure optimal app performance in diverse cultural settings, developers should strike an appropriate balance between universal design principles and culturally sensitive adaptation. However, the study's limitations, such as reliance on self-reported data and a relatively small sample size, suggest the need for future research to expand its scope to include participants from a broader range of cultural backgrounds. Background. Mankind continues to suffer from the ever-growing diabetes epidemic and the rapid rise of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This metabolic disease has been studied since ancient civilizations. The Arabo-Islamic civilization excelled in establishing some of the most notable discoveries and teachings that remained the blueprint for years to come in the field of diabetology. Aim. This article aimed to review the ancient history of diabetes mellitus, with its main focus on the Arabo-Islamic civilization, and to report our subjective views and analysis of some of the past recommendations based on modern-day findings. Discussion. It is natural to have the teachings of medicine dynamically inspired by one civilization to another, as various fields continue to expand and evolve. This also applies to diabetology as the Arabo-Islamic world used the outlines of prior civilizations to revolutionize the understanding of the disease. Al-Razi and Ibn Sina are probably two of the most renowned polymaths in history, and their contributions to diabetology are well documented. Ibn Maymun's postulation about the higher prevalence of diabetes in Egypt as compared to Andalusia is something to be carefully studied. It could be that diabetes mellitus' underdiagnosis and late-stage detection are some of the major reasons for the disparity between the two mentioned regions. Modern-day Arabo-Islamic scholars continue to excel in revolutionizing diabetology. Conclusion. The Arabo-Islamic world houses an impressive bout of scholars who have contributed since the ancient times to diabetology. Achieving diversity in the nursing workforce is dependent upon the success of BIPOC nursing students. Help-seeking is an adaptive process that nursing students can engage in to facilitate success. BIPOC Bachelor of Science in Nursing students construct knowledge about barriers to help-seeking based on their experiences. Method. This research was not meant to provide a solution to a specific social problem but merely to add to the theoretical knowledge about the experiences of baccalaureate BIPOC nursing students with help-seeking when under stress. Therefore, a qualitative descriptive design comprised of semistructured interviews was implemented. Results. The lack of BIPOC educators, absence of campus diversity, and perpetuation of microaggressions emerged as themes that describe the barriers to help-seeking when under stress. Conclusion. The study results indicate the need for ethnic and racial diversity amongst nursing faculty and the need for faculty, staff, and students to engage in professional development programs about implicit bias and microaggressions. People from refugee backgrounds generally have long and stressful journeys that involve involuntarily fleeing their homes and often include dislocation from family and friends. Food is integral to settlement when arriving in a destination country, as it is entwined with self-identity, culture, and connectedness to family and community. The aim of this study was to understand the facilitators and barriers of accessing cultural foods during the settlement journey for families with a refugee background, from the perspectives of workers who support the settlement journey. The study used participatory action research methodology to conduct focus groups with settlement and other workers who regularly interacted with people from refugee backgrounds, spoke English, and preferably self-identified with a refugee background. Participants were recruited through community organisations in Brisbane, Australia, and focus groups were held at workplaces or online. Eight focus groups (n = 32) were conducted between June and October 2021. The main theme was that food security, culture, and mental health were interrelated. When cultural food access, culture, or mental health were maintained or adversely impacted, all three factors were likewise affected. The behaviours around purchasing cultural foods were motivated by the desire to express and validate culture, which in turn improved mental health. It was also found that individual and community support systems sustained access to cultural foods, while social, environmental, institutional, and political structures impacted this access, sometimes detrimentally. This study highlights the need for interventions that foster social capital for families with refugee backgrounds and consider food security, culture, and mental health collectively. In addition, there is a need for increased awareness of the settlement journey, and for cultural inclusivity to be integrated into government policies, by working with communities and providing opportunities for people to express their culture, improve access to cultural foods, and maintain mental health. To identify the optimal stocking rate of Micropterus salmoides culture in a land-based round pond recirculating aquaculture system, five stocking densities were tested, i.e., D1–D5 with 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 fish/m2, respectively. The water temperature of the experimental pond was 20.0–26.5°C. The effects of stocking density on culture productivity and physiological indexes of M. salmoides (initial body weight 50.83 ± 7.28 g) were examined. The D1 and D5 treatments exhibited significantly improved growth performance. The population weight gain in the D5 treatment was the highest, which increased by 63.73%, 52.82%, 60.93%, and 45.08%, compared with groups D1–D4 (P < 0.05 , each), and the feed conversion ratio was the lowest, which was decreased by 5.65%, 12.03%, 26.42%, and 21.48% compared with groups D1–D4. The levels of crude protein, essential amino acids, and total free amino acids in muscle tissue of group D3 were higher than those in the other groups. Stocking density did not differ significantly on muscle fatty acid composition P > 0.05 , each). The activities of serum AKP and LZM and liver SOD, AKP, and LZM in group D5 were significantly higher than those in the other groups. Thus, 100 fish/m2 was the optimal stocking density of M. salmoides at a size stage of 50.83∼130.13 g in the circulating water of land-based round ponds. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction. Executive functions (EFs) are strongly linked to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The pictorial interview of children's metacognition and executive functions (PIC-ME) assesses children's self-perceptions regarding their EF. This study is aimed at describing the cultural adaptation of the PIC-ME to the ultra-Orthodox (UO) Jewish population in Israel. Method. In the first of three stages, 30 occupational therapists, who were experienced in working with children with ADHD from the UO population, completed a questionnaire about the suitability of PIC-ME for the UO community. In the second stage, six therapists participated in a focus group to discuss the recommendations and the adaptations made following the first stage. In the third stage, 20 UO children aged 5–10 participated in the tool validation process. Results. First stage: most of the items of the original tool were found to be appropriate in representing the EFs of UO children and did not need to be adapted. No significant differences were found between the boys' and girls' versions regarding the tool's adaptability. However, most of the therapists suggested that the pictures in both versions needed adaptations. Second stage: additional recommendations led to the development of a final adapted version. Third stage: over 70 percent agreement was found among UO children regarding the clarity of the adapted pictures. No significant differences were found between boys and girls or between age groups. Conclusions. This study presented wide agreement on the necessity for cultural adaptation of the PIC-ME to the UO population and described the adaptation process. Based on its face validity, the UO version may be a useful tool to assess the self-perception of EF among UO children. Further studies are needed to assess its psychometric properties and its usefulness as an outcome measure. The enthralling sweet taste that mesmerizes the eastern part of India, or more specifically the undivided Bengal (West Bengal and Bangladesh) is unveiled. The ethnic sweetmeats that originated in Bengal varied over their primary ingredients, size, shape, and process of production due to variation in the context of geographical, cultural, and religious beliefs. In total, thirty-eight numbers of sweet products that are originated in Bengal are reconnoitered along with their nutritional composition and shelf life. Based on the key ingredients, the sweetmeats can be divided into nine classes, namely, chhana-based, pulse-based, fried, milk-skin-based, extruded rice-based, fermented, khoa-based, fruit-based, and sugar-based. Nutritional heritage comes along with health-related benefits to mankind; the racial sweetmeats produced in undivided Bengal have crucial medicinal and gastronomical importance. The sweetmeats are basically the assimilation of ancestral Bengali tradition, rituals, and convictions through the cascade of time. The classical and folk processing methods practiced from antediluvian times have had a prominent impression on the taste and nutritional comportment of the sweets produced. To the best of our knowledge, this article is the first attempt to scientifically document the integrity of the processing methods, nutritional content, and health benefits of traditional sweetmeats. Inadequate attendance to antenatal care has been associated with negative maternal and fetal outcomes, including stillbirth. This study aimed to identify facilitators and barriers to antenatal care attendance. A systematic search was conducted in March 2019 and updated in January 2021. Qualitative studies involving pregnant or post‐partum women up to 12 months from high‐income countries that provided data about facilitators and barriers to antenatal care attendance were sought. Meta‐ethnography was used to inform this meta‐synthesis. Fifteen studies were included in the analysis. Findings indicate that inadequate antenatal care attendance is influenced at different levels. Aspects like sociodemographic factors, difficulties navigating the health system, administrative delays, lack of flexibility and tailored care, constant change of carer and communication issues also act as barriers. These issues affect women's access to knowledge and the formation of women's beliefs and feelings towards seeking care. On the contrary, having a positive attitude towards the pregnancy, encountering empathetic healthcare professionals and availing of social support acted as facilitators. The reasons why women seek or delay attending antenatal care are multifactorial and can be explained using the Social Determinants of Health Framework. Any response needs to be taken across all levels of influence and not just focused on the individual. A better understanding of the barriers and facilitators to antenatal care might contribute to informing intervention or policy development addressing this issue. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Maintaining a high level of adherence to antiretroviral therapy is a challenge among HIV/AIDS patients. The study aimed to explore the process of adherence to treatment with a grounded theory approach to help physicians and planners develop strategies to increase adherence to treatment. We conducted in‐depth interviews and a focus‐group discussion. The data were collected from 2016 to 2018. The participants were 39 HIV/AIDS patients treated with antiretroviral, their relatives (three people) and two treatment staff. The study was conducted at the Behavioural Counselling Center of Imam Khomeini Hospital, located in Tehran, the capital of Iran. The data were analysed at the stages of "analysis for concepts," "analysis for context," "bringing process into the analysis" and "integrating." We obtained a conceptual model to explain the relationship between the categories. "Motivation" was identified as the core variable and the "Becoming resilient" explained the adherence process. Several factors including the interfering factors, contextual factors and resilience factors were identified. The interfering and contextual factors, in the absence of the resilience factors, lead to decreased motivation and increased poor adherence to treatment. The role of motivation in long‐term adherence should be emphasised. We think strategies such as helping individuals with HIV/AIDS to form support networks, empowering and encouraging them to seek spiritual help will motivate them to maintain a long‐term use of antiretroviral medications and, hence, become more resilient. The aim of the present systematic review was to investigate cultural factors associated with burden in unpaid caregivers of older adults. Searches were conducted in the Pubmed, Web of Science, PsycInfo, Scopus, Embase, LILACs and SciELO databases for relevant articles published in English, Portuguese and Spanish using the search terms 'Caregiver AND Culture AND (Burnout OR Caregiver Burden) AND Aged'. No restriction was imposed regarding year of publication. A total of 1234 articles were identified, 34 of which were selected for the present review. The following sociodemographic characteristics were associated with burden: being female, married, White caregivers, young and the spouse of the care recipient; having no siblings; having low schooling and low economic status. Cultural factors associated with burden were living with the care recipient, not professing a religion or having little spirituality, familism (i.e. less reciprocity) and an absence of social support. The present findings underscore the importance of developing intervention strategies that consider cultural factors to minimise the negative impacts of care on unpaid caregivers of older adults. Older people's well‐being can be bolstered by engaging with cultural activities and venues. They may be encouraged to try cultural offers by a link worker as part of social prescribing. However, the cultural sector, like all parts of life, was affected by the COVID‐19 pandemic; this has had implications for cultural offers available to link workers. A study was conducted to explore the views and experiences of link workers in using the cultural sector within social prescribing, particularly for older people (aged 60+) during the pandemic. An online questionnaire was distributed to and completed by link workers in the UK. Data were analysed mainly using descriptive statistics. Open text responses were clustered into similar ideas to create key concepts. Useable responses were received from 148 link workers. They highlighted a general lack of interaction between link workers and the cultural sector about how the latter could support social prescribing. Results suggested that personal familiarity with cultural offers might prompt link workers to refer to them. Some respondents proposed that cultural offers were regarded as elitist, which deterred them from referring there. However, there was a general acknowledgement that the cultural sector could contribute to social prescribing. Link workers need to regard the cultural sector as accessible, appropriate, adequate, affordable and available before referring older people to cultural offers as part of social prescribing. Link workers may benefit from becoming more familiar with cultural sector staff and offers, including online resources, so they can then propose them to patients with confidence. People of South Asian (SA) origin have a higher prevalence of dementia compared with the United Kingdom (UK) population as a whole. Little is known about how family carers of SA origin perceive dementia, manage access to dementia services, and how plans and preparations are made for end‐of‐life for loved ones with dementia. This qualitative study aimed to explore the experiences of carers of people with dementia of SA origin, living in the UK. Through semi‐structured interviews, the perspective of caregivers of a person with dementia was explored from point of diagnosis to end‐of‐life preparation. Sixteen caregivers participated in face‐to‐face interviews. Four key themes are presented (i) lacking awareness at the start; (ii) living with the challenges of dementia; (iii) preparing for end‐of‐life; (iv) preferences for burial. Carers described difficulties in making sense of early symptoms and the behaviour changes they observed amongst their relatives with dementia. They described the tensions in trying to follow their religious and cultural identities of honouring the dignity and choices of the person with dementia. This study reports on the perspectives of SA carers of people with dementia, particularly exploring the end‐of‐life preparation and wishes of people with dementia in the UK. Family carers may benefit from accessing more culturally sensitive support when dementia is diagnosed, including such support when receiving formal day‐to‐day care. Importantly the findings suggest that planning and preparing to provide end‐of‐life for people with dementia should recognise and respect family and cultural contexts and religious beliefs. Day centres are increasingly being established, as many older persons are isolated and in need of meaningful activities and social interaction with others. Previous research has shown that day centres are still an important arena for older attendees to socialise and engage in meaningful activities, although day centres are increasingly introducing activities as part of rehabilitation programmes to enhance physical and mental enablement. However, little is known about what attendees and staff regard as meaningful activities. Based on a multi‐site ethnographic investigation at four day centres in Denmark and Norway in 2018 and 2019, this article examines how staff and attendees alike 'utilise' day care centres to pursue meaningful activities and what is considered meaningful for those attending and working there. Furthermore, this article discusses the potential for person‐centred care in communities like day centres. Our study shows that activities are first and foremost perceived as meaningful if they enhance an enjoyable social dimension with 'a touch of fresh news'. Hence, day centres function as a social space where elderly attendees can share stories and news based on personal experiences from the past and present. Consequently, person‐centred care in day care centres preferably facilitates communities to give attendees something new and refreshing to bring back home with them—and not only facilitate personal histories, preferences and wishes. Background: LGBTQIA+ migrants may have experienced discrimination and victimization related to ethnicity, culture, and race over the course of their migration journey, as well as in relation to their sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. Despite the work of some nurses in education, practice, policy, and research, there is a scarcity of literature investigating the experiences of LGBTQIA+ migrants with nurses and healthcare professionals in Canada. Methods: By utilizing Gadamerian hermeneutics research methodology with intersectional analysis, this study draws on 16 semi‐structured individual interviews with LGBTQIA+ migrants who received care from nurses and other healthcare professionals (NHCPs) in Canada. Results: Two overarching areas of intersecting experiences were identified: (a) challenges and (b) supports. Four interwoven interpretations emerged from experiences of challenges: (a) unwanted visibility, (b) hearing a dead name and being misgendered, (c) cultural stigma, and (d) being asked intrusive hetero‐cis‐normative questions. Supportive experiences were evident when NHCPs accepted the unique needs of LGBTQIA+ migrants and acted as advocates. Conclusions: Nursing interactions should not be traumatic for LGBTQIA+ migrants, but rather should be encounters where care providers ask relevant nonhetero‐cis‐normative questions, offer inclusive safe sex education for people's diverse identities, avoid dead naming and misgendering, and provide supportive and affirming care. To support the provision of safe care and mitigate trauma, systemic changes in nursing practice must include the experiences of LGBTQIA+ migrants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: The aim of this study is to assess the perceptions of patient safety culture among emergency room nurses in Jordan. Background: Patient safety culture is considered an international priority for health care institutions. There is a lack of studies on patient safety culture among emergency room nurses in international and Arab countries including Jordan. Methods: A cross‐sectional design was used to perform among emergency room nurses (N = 424) who are working in two health sectors (government and private) in Jordan. Results: Results showed that the total perception mean of patient safety culture was 70.6% (M = 3.87, SD = 0.64), which indicates that the perceptions of patient safety culture among emergency room nurses need potential for improvement. Three areas in patient safety culture were reported as strong, including teamwork within units (77.4%; M = 3.87, SD = 0.64), feedback and communication about the error (76.6%; M = 3.83, SD = 0.65) and organisational learning‐continuous improvement (75.4%; M = 3.77, SD = 0.63). The lowest scores were for areas of frequency of events reported (63.6%; M = 3.18, SD = 0.99) and handoffs and transitions (64.4%; M = 3.22, SD = 0.78). Patient safety culture was correlated with income, educational level and principal of patient safety. Conclusion: Regular assessment for emergency rooms is required to provide essential information to hospital managers on the areas that need improvement to promote patient safety culture. Aim: The aim of this review was to explore literature from January 2017 to December 2021 for specific aspects of care ethics related to nursing workload in the acute care setting. Background: High nursing workload is associated with adverse outcomes for nurses as well as patients. Nursing workload goes beyond patient‐to‐nurse ratios and encompasses patient, nurse and organizational factors. Evaluation: This qualitative systematic review was conducted according to the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual for Evidence Synthesis. The four features of care ethics related to nursing workload guided the review of qualitative studies in MEDLINE, CINAHL and PsycINFO, and synthesized findings were presented in the four phases of caring. Key Issues: Key issues include ethical dilemmas, time pressure, shared moral burden and managerial support. Conclusion: To reduce nursing workload, a care ethics perspective can provide solutions through fortifying interprofessional relationships and enhancing empathetic actions. Background. The use of birth control methods is influenced by complex and competing socioeconomic and demographic factors. Regardless of the complexity of the behavioral approach of women, the utility of contraceptive methods in providing the opportunity of choice is well paired. This study examined the factors driving the usage of contraception and the impact of contraceptive practices on population growth in Pakistan. We also perused the quantification of sociocultural contraceptive use. Methodology. The Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey (PDHS, 2017-18) dataset collected by the National Institute of Population Study (NIPS) was used for all analyses. We applied the frequentist logistic regression model and multinomial logistic regression model in assessing factors impacting contraceptive practices. Bayesian logistic and multinomial regression models were also implemented to compare estimates. The regions and provinces in Pakistan were considered as different clusters, thereby introducing hierarchical structures in the regression model. Results. The study revealed a distinctive highly significant negative effect on contraceptive use and women's age. The odds ratio (OR) for women aged 25-34, 35-44, and above 44 was 1.242, 1.155, and 0.638, respectively, which shows that the OR of contraceptive use decreases in women aged 25-44. Our study showed the superior performance of the Bayesian model in highlighting disparities among the various cultural streams existing in the country. Estimates of the Bayesian analysis of competing models indicated that the Bayesian models provide powerful estimates compared to the classical models. Conclusion. Our results indicated that contraceptive use is almost relevant to sociodemographic factors (education, age, language, partner, work, etc.). Women with no formal education living in rural areas were not aware of the use of contraception, thereby not using it. Contraceptive use and methods are most probably influenced by the age and the number of children of women. We recommend that high-quality education, counseling, and widespread access to contraceptives should be prioritized in family planning healthcare in all areas of the country, especially rural areas. The health behaviours related to chronic diseases experienced by South Asian immigrants are interrelated with their culture and socioeconomic conditions. South Asian immigrants experience a disproportionate burden of chronic disease compared with non‐immigrants Australian‐born general population. The primary aim of this study was to gain an in‐depth understanding of health behaviours and healthcare access in the South Asian immigrant population of Australia. Five focus group discussions (FGDs) were conducted with South Asian immigrants (n = 29; 18 females) aged 27–50 years in Brisbane, Australia. Separate FGDs were conducted for males and females in the English language. Semi‐structured guided questions related to the perception, barriers and facilitators of health behaviours. Data were analysed with Nvivo‐12 following a thematic analysis. A conceptual model is proposed to provide a summarised understanding of barriers and facilitators of health behaviours in South Asian immigrants. The major reported constraints for participating in physical activity were cultural beliefs, lack of time, work stress and high fees of fitness activities, while parks and peer modelling were mentioned as a strong motivator for walking, cycling and participating in group sports activities. The cultural and religious connections, cost of cigarettes and drink driving penalties were the most mentioned facilitators for a healthy lifestyle. The important factors related to unhealthy eating habits were the traditional cooking methods, social interactions and the high cost of fruits and vegetables. Community perceptions and language barriers were also acknowledged as the main factors for the decrease in accessing health care services. This study illustrates that cultural beliefs, high cost of healthy food and facilities and social circumstances are mainly linked with the health behaviours and healthcare access in South Asian immigrant's lifestyles. Although cognitive‐behavioural therapy has demonstrated effectiveness in improving mental health outcomes for sexual minority young people (SMYP), existing interventions are primarily designed and evaluated in Western contexts, and their acceptability and responsiveness to culturally relevant issues in the Chinese contexts is uncertain. This study aimed to address this gap by exploring how a manualised community‐based cognitive‐behavioural intervention (AFFIRM) could be culturally reconsidered for SMYP in Taiwan and Hong Kong and suggest recommendations for future adaptation. Following an empirical, community‐based participatory approach, qualitative data were collected between August and September 2018 through five focus groups with 15 SMYP and 18 frontline practitioners in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Thematic analysis revealed that at the surface structural level, translation and examples, and promotion strategies can be fine‐tuned to better fit the Chinese context. On the deep structural level, self‐differentiation and a pragmatic plan to come out to parents were identified as two concerns of cultural importance for Chinese SMYP. This study exemplifies an empirical, collaborative approach to identifying areas of cultural adaptation for mental health intervention for SMYP in the Chinese cultural milieu. Attrition from clinical interventions targeting underserved populations is a substantive challenge to achieving optimal health outcomes. Our nationally recognised enriched medical home intervention (EMHI) utilised community health worker home visitation to improve health outcomes of children by engaging the entire family and removing barriers to care‐seeking. Families were enrolled into the program between 2013 and 2016, and, as part of the evaluation of the program's success, we identified predictors of program completion by conducting a secondary analysis of 304 families participating in the EMHI evaluation research. Program completers finished participation in the EMHI with mutual agreement that the family can independently follow recommended care. Program non‐completers were either lost to follow‐up or dropped out before reaching this milestone. Data were collected using electronic medical records and validated self‐report surveys to assess constructs such as social support, mental health difficulties and neighbourhood characteristics. The EMHI participants were primarily families with infants <24 months old, Medicaid‐insured and Latino. In the multivariable logistic regression model, EMHI program factors as well as community factors independently predicted program continuation and retention. Specifically, families learning about newborn care or with preferred spoken language Spanish were more likely to complete the program. Participants reporting neighbourhood distrust had a greater likelihood of non‐completion than others. Results underscore the importance of cultural competency and community involvement in program design and dissemination. It is common practice in healthcare systems in the Arabic region to exclude relatives when patients receive treatment for critical emergent incidents or illnesses. This exclusion is despite family members' wishes for proximity and cultural and religious values that mean being with unwell people is considered a form of worship or religious act. The marked lack of implementation of relatives' wishes in this regard is coupled with a paucity of relevant policies, guidelines, and research, despite patient populations in these countries being traditional in nature, religious, and having strong connections within their families and extended social units. The present authors reflected on this concern and advocated for increased attention to the needs and rights of critically ill patients and their families to support better quality, holistic care, especially during critical illness incidents. Healthcare professionals should consider allowing families to be present with their patients in such circumstances and appreciate the importance of family presence, despite the acknowledged challenges. The recommendations presented in this reflection may support the implementation of effective, holistic healthcare services in these countries. A growing body of research indicates both positive and negative effects of grandparent childcare; effects that are largely dependent upon the context and intensity of the care are required. Here, we suggest that context to be inclusive of cultural background. Drawing on the indigenous methodological framework, talanoa, the views of 13 Pacific Island grandparents in relation to themes of grandparent childminding are explored, as well its proximity to perceptions of elder abuse. A cultural analysis reveals that traditions specific to the Pacific way of life may lead to increased risk of prolonged childcare. The participants in this study felt that prolonged childminding deprived them of time which could be used to benefit them and their community in the long run. It was viewed as a form of disrespect, as older people are revered and held in high regard in decision making activities from the Pacific worldview. The participants embraced their roles as the knowledge holders of cultural treasures; responsible for teaching children and grandchildren their genealogy and language, and for upholding the protocols of their cultural heritage. It is due to the fact that educational reforms are deepening and more open interactive teaching models have begun to be gradually implemented in college English instruction. The method's innovation and reform can not only fully respect the students' dominating position but also entice students to devote themselves to the English classroom with greater zeal which is helpful in allowing for deeper knowledge discovery and thinking. This study has the motive to examine the interactive teaching mode's application tactics in college English classrooms, particularly with the goal of improving the effectiveness of English classroom teaching and promoting the high-quality growth of today's college students. Furthermore, in order to improve the interactivity of online English teaching in colleges and universities, this research proposes an intelligent conversation system based on multiagents to aid in the improvement of online teaching. Moreover, this study describes the oversampling SMOTE algorithm for imbalanced datasets, proposes specific problems that need to be solved to optimize the SMOTE algorithm, and provides a unified classification model for the classification of imbalanced datasets. According to the simulation research results, it can be seen that the college sports culture construction platform based on intelligent information management technology proposed in this study has a good sports culture construction effect.
