To demonstrate the rejuvenation effect of waste soybean oil (WSO) on aged asphalt binder (AB) and realise the efficient combination of laboratory evaluation and numerical simulation. The rheological properties and molecular dynamics simulation of WSO rejuvenated binders were investigated. The results demonstrated that the WSO provided sufficient light components in the AB and reduced the stiffness. The WSO rejuvenated binders were transformed into a sol–gel structure, this resulted in excellent rheological properties. The WSO improved the anti-fatigue performance of rejuvenated binders. The WSO provided sufficient aromatics and a small amount of saturates for the AB. The blending mechanism of WSO and AB was physical blending. The atomic force microscopy micromorphology images showed that the bee-like structure of WSO rejuvenated binders was reduced in quantity compared with that of AB. The dosages of 3–6 wt% of AB content was determined to be the optimum content of WSO. The molecular dynamics results indicated that as the amount of WSO increased, the total volume and the occupied volume increased, while the free volume decreased. The volume fusion parameters increased significantly with an increase in the WSO content. This showed that WSO effectively improved the diffusion capacity of rejuvenated binders. Among the three DMTF1 splicing isoforms, DMTF1α acts as a tumour suppressor through promoting p14ARF expression, while DMTF1β exhibits an oncogenic role likely through antagonizing DMTF1α. However, the molecular mechanism underlying alternative splicing of DMTF1 pre-mRNA has not been delineated. In the current study, we discovered SRSF5 as a regulatory protein binding to a region located between DMTF1β and α acceptor splice sites to promote DMTF1β and γ splicing. We demonstrated that SRSF5 expression positively correlated with DMTF1β/α ratio in breast cancer samples, and ectopically expressed SRSF5 promoted the splicing of DMTF1β and γ, but not DMTF1α, when testing endogenous DMTF1 pre-mRNA and a reporter construct. Upon SRSF5 knockdown, we observed significantly decreased DMTF1β and γ ratios of endogenous transcripts. An RNA sequence just upstream of the α acceptor site contains two adjacent SRSF5 binding elements, one of which overlaps with an SF1 binding site. Our mechanistic studies revealed that SRSF5 binding to both elements in this region could consign SF1 to its distal-binding sites close to the β and γ acceptor sites, favouring splicing of their isoforms. Overall, our study revealed SRSF5 as a key regulator to promote DMTF1β and γ splicing, and consequently reduce DMTF1α splicing. Nitrogen stripping plays a vital role during the sulfate-rich wastewater treatment process by sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB). However, the interaction between nitrogen stripping, sulfate reduction capacity, S2– concentration, and microbial community structure is rarely studied. Here, two anaerobic systems were conducted to analyze these interactions simultaneously. Results showed that the toxic products (H2S) were stripped by nitrogen at first. Then, the increased relative abundance of fermentative bacteria accelerated the carbon sources conversion, and Desulfovibrio, Dethiosulfovibrio, and Sulfurospirillum facilitated the sulfate reduction after nitrogen stripping. Finally, the produced S2− concentration was increased by 12%, and the sulfate reduction rate was increased by 9.2% compared to that without nitrogen stripping. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

By referring to the successful application of a cold-resistant plasticizer in the plastic industry, dioctyl adipate (DOA) plasticizer was selected to improve the low-temperature performance of asphalt. Dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) and bending beam rheometer (BBR) tests were conducted to analyse the high and low temperature performance of plasticizer-modified asphalt binder. The residual creep rate ratio was put forward to evaluate the improvement effect of the anti-aging performance of asphalt binder. The rheological characteristics analysis shows that DOA could increase the viscous components in asphalt binder. However, with the increase of plasticizer content to 3.0%, the creep rate increased by 35% and the creep stiffness decreased by 39% at −24°C. The low temperature performance of DOA modified asphalt binder was improved by 30%. The residual creep rate ratio of the plasticizer-modified asphalt binder was more than 15% higher than base asphalt at the same temperature and softening point increment was 22.5% lower than base asphalt which means that the anti-aging performance was improved. Comprehensive analysis of the high and low temperature performance of DOA modified asphalt shows that the optimum content is 3.0%. The tectonic nature of Early Palaeozoic Kwangsian orogeny in the South China Block (SCB) is still debated, due to controversy whether there was a Cambrian ocean between the Yangtze Block and the Cathaysia Block. Similarly, continental affinities of the SCB with India and Australia in East Gondwana during the Cambrian are also controversial. Herein, we present detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology of Cambrian sandstone samples from the southern SCB. Cambrian samples (including our new samples and published samples) from the Cathaysia Block and the Yangtze Block show similar detrital zircon age spectra with one prominent age cluster of ~1000-900 Ma and several subordinate age groups, as well as similar cumulative proportion curves (CPC). Such signatures, together with other geological records, suggest that a Cambrian ocean did not exist between the Cathaysia Block and the Yangtze Block, and that Early Palaeozoic Kwangsian orogeny resulted from an intra-continental collision. Cambrian samples from the SCB have much more similar detrital zircon age spectra and CPC to those from Himalaya and Qiangtang than those from Australia, but detrital zircons in Cambrian samples from the SCB, Himalaya, Qiangtang and Australia have a similar prominent age group of ~1000-900 Ma. Introduction Case presentation Conclusion Extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This report presents a patient with the right lower eyelid ENKTL misdiagnosed as meibomitis repeatedly.A 48-year-old woman developed recurrent redness and swelling in right eyelid for 2 years. Three eyelid mass removal operations were performed in local hospitals, and the pathological examination suggested meibomitis. Physical examination showed an induration in the lateral lower eyelid of the right eye, local defect of the eyelid margin, mild entropion, redness and swelling of the surrounding tissues, and temporal bulbar conjunctiva hyperemia. The eyelid lesion was resected and ENKTL was diagnosed by specific immunohistochemical staining and in situ hybridization. The lymphoma resolved with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The patient was still alive forty-one months after the last operation.Our report demonstrates that recurrent eyelid redness and swelling might be a malignant tumor, and clinicians should be vigilant. Bibliometrix and VOSviewer were used to analyze and visualize study trends and hotspots. Citespace was used to conduct the cooperation and co-citation network analysis.A total of 5837 and 7195 documents were exported for further analysis in WoSCC and Scopus, respectively. The USA has published the most articles related to uveitis (1627, 27.87%, WoS; 1979, 27.51%, Scopus) and accounted for the most frequency of total citations (42345 times total citations 35 900 times without self-citations in WoSCC database). Most of the papers focusing on uveitis were published in Ocular Immunology and Inflammation (761, 13.04% within WoS; 793, 11.02% within Scopus). Additionally, novel biotherapy is the hotspot of uveitis research which also may be a sustained research interest in the future.An increasing trend of publications was found in uveitis research. The USA was the leading contributor in this field, and it was the center of cooperation network.
