The Institute of Polymer Chemistry at Nankai University in China recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. The institute, founded in 1984 by Professor Binglin He, has become a well-established research institution with a focus on polymer synthetic chemistry, polymer physics, and the correlation between structure and properties in new functional polymer materials. It has 62 faculty members and offers master's and doctoral programs in polymer chemistry. The institute has published over 1000 research papers and received numerous awards for its contributions to polymer science. The special issue of Macromolecular Rapid Communications features 25 publications highlighting the institute's research in polymer science.
