Numerical weather prediction (NWP) has become an important method of predicting extreme weather events, but orography is one of the key factors affecting the performance of NWPs. In this paper, based on Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) elevation data, a method for constructing a global orographic dataset suitable for NWP spectral models is investigated. The Yin-He global spectrum model (YHGSM) is used to simulate the early and peak periods of the extreme rainfall event on 20 July 2021 in Henan Province, China, and the heavy rain in Beijing in order to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed orographic construction method. It is demonstrated that in a few cases the direct two-dimensional filter can sometimes simulate more intense rainfall, but in general, the bidirectional one-dimensional filter is better than the direct two-dimensional filter in orographic processing, and the bidirectional one-dimensional filter can filter out more of the small-scale orographic information. The effect of the higher orographic resolution before conversion to spectral space is not very obvious, but it is demonstrated that the simulation results are better for the heavy-rainfall level. In conclusion, in most cases, the simulations conducted using the new global orographic dataset based on ASTER data are better than those obtained using the model's original orography, especially for torrential and extreme rainfall. With the increase in energy demand, environmental issues such as carbon emissions are becoming more and more prominent. China will scale its intended nationally determined contributions by adopting more vigorous policies and measures. China aims to have CO2 emissions peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060. The current challenge and priority of China's high-quality development is to ensure a harmonious balance between the ecological environment and the economy. The South-to-North Water Diversion Project passes through Beijing, Tianjin, Henan, and Hebei, which were chosen as the study sites. The carbon emission data was from the China Carbon Emission Database 2000–2019. Decoupling modeling using statistical yearbook data from four provinces and municipalities. KMO and Bartlett's test used SPSS 27 software. The selection of indicators was based on relevance. Analyses were performed using the extended STIRPAT model and ridge regression. Moreover, projections of carbon peaks in the study area for 2020–2035 under different rates of change were simulated by the scenario analysis method. The results show that: (1) The decoupling analysis of the four provinces and cities from 2000-2019 gradually shifts to strong decoupling; (2) Resident population, energy structure, and secondary industry as a proportion of GDP significantly impact carbon emissions; (3) From 2000–2035, Beijing and Henan experienced carbon peaks. The peak time in Beijing was 96.836 million tons in 2010. The peak time in Henan was 654.1004 million tons in 2011; (4) There was no peak in Hebei from 2000–2035. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The emergence of Chinese opera animation allows a wider audience, especially a younger audience, to access and embrace the art of opera heritage. This study used a two-way mixed-design ANOVA to explore the effect of Chinese opera animation on schoolchildren's viewing motivation; the independent variables were the children's grade level and the opera genre of the animation. Grade level was divided into three groups: lower, middle, and upper (grades 2, 4, and 6, respectively). Opera genre consisted of Peking, Yue, and Henan opera. The dependent variable, viewing motivation, comprised six dimensions: entertainment and relaxation, learning knowledge, escapist pastime, aesthetic appreciation, empathic identification, and socializing and sharing. After statistically analyzing the evaluations of 457 participants, the results showed the following: (1) Peking and Yue opera animation had a better entertainment and relaxation effect on the lower and middle groups. Henan opera had a better escapist pastime effect on the upper group but less effect on the lower group. (2) In terms of learning knowledge, empathic identification, aesthetic appreciation, and overall performance, Yue and Henan opera animations were more effective for enhancing viewing motivation compared with Peking opera animation. (3) The middle and lower groups showed higher viewing motivation than the upper group in the learning knowledge, empathic identification, and socializing and sharing dimensions. Overall, grades 2 and 4 were appropriate stages for schoolchildren to engage with opera animation.
