- Abstract
This study aims at examining what Polites means in the work of the Franco-Lithuanian phisopher Emmanuel Levinas. The task is challenging since there is no explicit approach to the theme in his work. However, the philosopher admits that, with the arrival of the third, the transition from ethics to an eminently social life introduces the question of Justice, Polites and Law, etc., at the heart of the dual relationship. By showing the existence of a fruitful interface between ethics and politics in the author's thought, the primary goal is to address the ethics of otherness from the pespective of language as living speech and as interpellation of the other. The paper then explores Levinas' lines of thought concerning Politics otherwise said, considering the originality of de semiotic and linguistic intrigue that the philosopher establishes betwenn Say and Said that underlies his writing.
