The southward extension of the Bangong-Nujiang Suture and the late Mesozoic tectonic affinity of the Tengchong Block have been subject to debate, and the Early Cretaceous magmatism in the eastern Tengchong Block provides a crucial window to address these issues. This paper reports comprehensive petrographic, geochemical, geochronological, and isotopic data of Early Cretaceous granitic rocks from the eastern Tengchong Block. Results show that these granitic rocks consist of monzogranites and granodiorites, with zircon U-Pb ages of 120.4–113.9 Ma. These granitic rocks are characterized by enrichments in large ion lithophile elements (e.g. Rb, U, K) and light rare earth elements, but depleted in high field strength elements (e.g. Nb, Ta, P, Ti), and have negative apatite εNd(t) values (−10.4 to −6.7) and negative zircon εHf(t) values (−11.7 to −1.2). The molar [Al2O3/(CaO + K2O + Na2O)] (A/CNK) values and whole-rock zircon saturated temperatures of the studied monzogranites of 1.04–1.09 and 714–799°C, respectively, indicate that they have I-type granite affinity. The presence of biotite indicative of I-type granite and the observation that P2O5 decrease with increasing SiO2 further indicated that the monzogranites have affinities of I-type granites. The petrography, geochemical and isotopic signatures of the studied monzogranites indicate that they originated from partial melting of mafic lower crustal rocks. The Na-rich granodiorites have elevated Na2O/K2O ratios and Na2O contents of 1.19–2.04 and 3.12–3.47 wt.%, respectively. These granodiorites also have relatively high Mg# values and the transition metal element Cr of 53.3–54.5 and up to 100 ppm, respectively. According to these isotopic and geochemical features and the occurrence of magnesiohornblende, we propose that the Na-rich granodiorites were derived from partial melting of ancient basaltic lower crust, with certain inputs of mantle materials in the magma source. Considering these results as well as published data, we finally propose that the Tengchong Block was likely the southeastern extension of the Lhasa Block and that these Early Cretaceous granitic rocks were formed in the setting of the volcanic arc due to westward subduction of the Bangong-Nujiang Tethys oceanic lithosphere beneath the Tengchong Block. To qualify the risk of extreme weather events for power supply security during the long-term power system transformation process, this paper proposes a risk probability evaluation method based on probabilistic production simulation. Firstly, the internal relationship of extreme weather intensity and duration is depicted using the copula function, and the influences of extreme weather on power security are described using the guaranteed power output ability coefficient, which can provide the extreme scenario basis for probabilistic production simulation. Then, a probabilistic production simulation method is proposed, which includes a typical-year scenario and extreme weather events. Meanwhile, an index system is proposed to qualify the power security level, which applies the loss of load expectation (LOLE) and time of loss of load expectation (TOLE) under different scenarios and other indices to reveal the long-term power security trend. Finally, the long-term power supply risks for the Yunnan provincial power system are analyzed using the proposed method, validating that the proposed method is capable of characterizing the influences of extreme weather on power security. It is of great significance to accurately grasp ground-level ozone concentration on a wide scale in order to cope with the increasingly serious ground-level ozone pollution problem. Currently, satellite technology can be used to monitor ground-level ozone concentration on a wide scale, but there is the problem of insufficient spatial resolution. The use of ground monitoring stations to detect ground-level ozone concentration can obtain more accurate ozone concentration around the station, but there are problems of limited number of stations and sparse distribution. Therefore, it is still a challenge to accurately grasp the ground-level ozone concentration at a large scale and high spatial resolution. To address this issue, this paper proposes a ground-level ozone concentration inversion algorithm based on deep learning methods, incorporating data from remote sensing satellites, ground monitoring stations, meteorological conditions, geography, and land use. Taking Yunnan Province in China as the experimental region and utilizing five-fold cross-validation, the model's Mean Square Error (MSE) reached 340.45 and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) reached 18.45. Compared to machine learning models, the error decreased by 14.53%, outperforming Random Forest models, Convolution Neural Networks, and Vision Transformers. Simple Summary: In this paper, a new Pareas species of the P. hamptoni complex is described from southern Yunnan Province, China, based on morphological and molecular evidence. Genetically, the new species is most closely related to P. hamptoni sensu stricto, for which we confirm the distribution in China. Morphologically, the new species can be distinguished from P. hamptoni sensu stricto and all other congeners by a combination of morphological characteristics. The discovery of the new species brings the total number of recognized species of the genus Pareas to 31, of which 25 occur in China. We describe a new species of the genus Pareas, based on three specimens collected from Guanyinshan Provincial Nature Reserve in Yuanyang County, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China. The new species is distinguished from its congeners by one preocular, one postocular or postocular fused with subocular, loreal not bordering the orbit, one row enlarged vertebral scales, five rows keeled mid-dorsal scales at the middle of the body, 189–192 ventral scales and 72–89 subcaudal scales. The dorsal surfaces of the head and body are yellowish red or yellowish brown, and the belly and ventral surfaces of the head and tail are pinkish yellow or yellow with more or less small black spots. Phylogenetic analyses of mitochondrial DNA recovered the new species being the sister taxon to P. hamptoni sensu stricto. The genetic divergences between the new species and P. hamptoni sensu stricto were 4.2% in the Cyt b sequences and 5.0% in the ND4 sequences. More and more research has been conducted to examine individuated, affective, and embodied themes related to heritage landscapes. Following this recent trend, the paper analyzes how tourists experience heritage landscapes to retrieve positive feelings from the past and thus seek inspiration for a better life. Specifically, this paper has two objectives. First, it examines the embodied interactions between tourists and heritage landscapes in Lijiang Old Town, a well-known cultural heritage site in Yunnan, China. Studying these interactions will add substance to the affective aspect of heritage landscapes, showing the cultural value of heritage to individuals who live in a speedy world. Second, this paper attempts to understand the complex feelings developed by tourists towards heritage landscapes. We find that leisurely tourists attempt to enjoy heritage landscapes in order to counter their hectic pace of life in China's big cities. They engage in either strolling in the town to decode the cultural values of heritage landscapes or staying put to immerse themselves in a heritage aura, for the purpose of relaxation and slowness. All the positive feelings in the town can lead to selftransformation and even spiritual rejuvenation. By apprehending heritage for inspiration, a situated and relational picture of tourism consumption unfolds to highlight how tourists develop a subjective sense of and feeling about heritage.. Land reform has been perceived to be a major avenue for poverty reduction, amid controversies regarding the impacts of land reform in developing economies. This paper demonstrates how China's land reform in the 1950s succeeded in reducing hunger and poverty. To be more specific, our paper constructs a theoretical model, deriving hypotheses with respect to the welfare effects of land reform in general. The hypotheses are then empirically tested using a unique data set from China. Our identification strategy of combining propensity score matching (PSM) with Differences-in-Differences (DID) estimations ensures the reliability of causal inferences and analytical results. The paper concludes that China's land reform in the 1950s significantly improved the welfare of peasants in terms of subsistence living while its effect on non-subsistence welfare was insignificant. The portrayals of "new state capitalism" in both the popular media and policy-making circles have become a potent geopolitical category. This politically realist categorization is understandably popular because of its simplicity—states proactively participating in capital accumulation are construed as threats to institutions underpinning the "free market". This paper complicates this portrayal by framing what appears to be a "rise" of state capitalistic maneuvers from China as a dynamic sovereignty–accumulation nexus. Specifically, Chinese state capitalism—and arguably state capitalism in general—constitutes the reproduction of sovereign rule. Underpinning this tension-filled process is territoriality: the use of territory for political, economic, and social ends. This dynamic relationship will be illustrated through an examination of how and why Yunnan, a southwestern Chinese province that was economically marginalized for several decades, emerged as a geostrategic platform for facilitating new rounds of capital accumulation. Through large-scale infrastructural investments in Yunnan, the Chinese state generated new territorial configurations that (a) enabled the positioning of Yunnan as a "bridgehead" of Chinese economic statecraft and (b) encouraged investments aimed at capturing new growth opportunities. While this state-led developmental process partially resolves tensions generated by previous rounds of capital accumulation, it also generates new tensions. Building on this case study, the paper demonstrates how Chinese state capitalism more accurately exemplifies a state-building process that is embedded in and is constituted by a central contradiction between the territorial and capitalistic logics of power. The Dahongshan Fe‐Cu (‐Au) deposit is a superlarge deposit in the Kangdian metallogenic belt, southwestern China, comprising approximately 458 Mt of Fe ores (40% Fe) and 1.35 Mt Cu. Two main types of Fe‐Cu (‐Au) mineralization are present in the Dahongshan deposit: (1) early submarine volcanic exhalation and sedimentary mineralization characterized by strata‐bound fine‐grained magnetite and banded Fe‐Cu sulfide (pyrite and chalcopyrite) hosted in the Na‐rich metavolcanic rocks; (2) late hydrothermal (‐vein) type mineralization characterized by Fe‐Cu sulfide veins in the hosted strata or massive coarse‐grained magnetite orebodies controlled by faults. While previous studies have focused primarily on the early submarine volcanic and sedimentary mineralization of the deposit, data related to late hydrothermal mineralization is lacking. In order to establish the metallogenic age and ore‐forming material source of the late hydrothermal (‐vein) type mineralization, this paper reports the Re‐Os dating of molybdenite from the late hydrothermal vein Fe‐Cu orebody and H, O, S, and Pb isotopic compositions of the hydrothermal quartz‐sulfide veins. The primary aim of this study was to establish the metallogenic age and ore‐forming material source of the hydrothermal type orebody. Results show that the molybdenite separated from quartz‐sulfide veins has a Re‐Os isochron age of 831 ± 11 Ma, indicating that the Dahongshan Fe‐Cu deposit experienced hydrothermal superimposed mineralization in Neoproterozoic. The molybdenite has a Re concentration of 99.7–382.4 ppm, indicating that the Re of the hydrothermal vein ores were primarily derived from the mantle. The δ34S values of sulfides from the hydrothermal ores are 2‰–8‰ showing multi‐peak tower distribution, suggesting that S in the ore‐forming period was primarily derived from magma and partially from calcareous sedimentary rock. Furthermore, the abundance of radioactive Pb increased significantly from ore‐bearing strata to layered and hydrothermal vein ores, which may be related to the later hydrothermal transformation. The composition of H and O isotopes within the hydrothermal quartz indicates that the ore‐forming fluid is a mixture of magmatic water and a small quantity of water. These results further indicate that the late hydrothermal orebodies were formed by the Neoproterozoic magmatic hydrothermal event, which might be related to the breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent. Milk fan is an acid-curd cheese with strong national characteristics (a traditional dairy product of the Bai nationality with a shape like a piece of paper) and a long history in Yunnan province, China. In our previous study, we characterized the microbial community diversity of milk fan, but the succession of microorganisms associated with flavor formation in milk fan is still unknown. Therefore, we examined the predominant microorganisms and their correlations with the formation of flavor in the fermentation of sour juice and drying of milk fan by gas chromatography mass spectrometry, high-throughput 16S rDNA sequencing, intergenic spacer sequencing and metatranscriptome analysis. We found that the relative abundances of Lactobacillus and Issatchenkia initially decreased and then increased with time during the fermentation of sour juice. However, the relative abundances of Acetobacter , Leuconostoc , Lactococcus, Geotrichum , and Dipodascus initially increased and then decreased. During the drying step, the relative abundances of Lactobacillus and Issatchenkia continuously increased and became the dominant microorganisms in the milk fan. The metatranscriptomes generated from the milk fan showed that "carbohydrate metabolism," "translation," and "signal transduction" were the main metabolic functions of the microbial communities. Rhodotorula and Yarrowia contained more differentially expressed genes than other genera, which indicated they may be associated with the production of the characteristic flavor. Furthermore, a Pearson correlation analysis showed that Lactococcus , Rhodotorula , Candida , Cutaneotrichosporon , and Yarrowia were significantly positively correlated with more aroma-active compounds, mainly ethyl acetate, 2-heptanone, isovaleraldehyde, butyric acid, nonanal, and hexanal. To investigate the factors influencing the severity of tourism traffic accidents, this paper selected 3 861 tourism traffic safety accidents in China, based on the analysis of its spatialtemporal distribution characteristics, further examined the factors influencing the severity of tourism traffic accidents. An ordered multi-classified logistic regression model was employed to explore the contributing factors to the severity of tourist traffic safety accidents. The results show that: (1) From 2010 to 2019, the different severity levels of tourism traffic accidents in China show a fluctuating downward trend. (2) The severity levels of tourism traffic accidents display a heterogeneous distribution, with high-incidence areas mainly concentrated in Yunnan and Hunan provinces. (3) The five categories of factors, including personnel, vehicles, roads, management, and environment, are significantly correlated with the severity of tourism traffic accidents. The varying strength of their connection with different provincial domains is an important reason for the heterogeneous distribution of accident severity. The results help to reveal the characteristics and causes of tourism traffic safety accidents nationwide and provide a theoretical basis for improving tourism traffic safety management. Accurate taxonomical identification is an extremely important basis for stick insect research, including evolutionary biology but also applied biology such as pest control. In addition, genetic methods are a valuable identification auxiliary technology at present. Therefore, this paper used morphological and molecular data to investigate five stick insect specimens from the genus Cnipsomorpha in Yunnan, successfully identifying two new species: Cnipsomorpha yunnanensis Xu, Jiang & Yang, sp. nov. and C. yuxiensis Xu, Jiang & Yang, sp. nov. A phylogenetic tree was constructed through their 28S and COI genes in order to infer the phylogenetic position of the two new species. Simple Summary: In March 2020, a group of wild Asian elephants suddenly roamed north from China's Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve and subsequently arrived in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, which has aroused widespread concern in the society. Based on this event, this study attempted to identify the possible migration routes of Asian elephants according to the existing land conditions and the movement habits of Asian elephants if wild Asian elephants in China migrated again. It was found that the areas with a high probability of migration by Asian elephants were mainly concentrated in the gently undulating shrubs, bamboo forests, and grasslands. Moreover, dense forests with steep slopes and high altitudes, cultivated land, and construction land are less likely to be passed by Asian elephants. Our findings can not only provide valuable insights into suggestions and solutions for the current conservation of wild Asian elephant species but also be beneficial in biological protection and biological reserve planning. Humans overlap with Asian elephants, resulting in frequent costly human–elephant conflicts, which disturb and even threaten local residents. In this study, we treat provincial and national nature reserves where Asian elephants still exist and other alternative habitats suitable for Asian elephants in southern Yunnan, China, as ecological patches. By using this approach, we can treat the terrain and surface state factors that hinder the migration of Asian elephants as a form of ecological resistance surface. We can then use a circuit theory model and remote sensing data to construct an ecological network, which allows us to identify ecological corridors and ecological pinch points. Herein, the possible migration routes of wild Asian elephants were identified. The main results are as follows: (1) In the study area, dense forests with steep slopes and high altitudes, cultivated land, and building land have greater migration resistance, while the gently undulating shrubs, bamboo forests, and grasslands far away from the city have less migration resistance. (2) There are three ecological corridor groups in the study area, mainly composed of shrub and grassland. The ecological corridors identified in this paper are the most likely migration routes of wild Asian elephants in China, and areas with higher simulated current densities reflect a higher probability of Asian elephants passing through. (3) According to the analysis, the ecological pinch points in the study area are 602 km2 in total, and woodland and grassland account for 89.2% of the total ecological pinch area. The areas where the pinch points are located have a high probability of Asian elephants passing through and a narrow space. Our findings can provide suggestions and solutions for the current conservation of wild Asian elephant species, alleviate human–elephant conflicts, promote the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, and provide reference for biological protection and biological reserve planning. Due to the increasing concern with physical and mental wellbeing, people realize the need to get away from the routines of domestic life and travel to tourist destinations. We propose the notion of tastescape to demonstrate one specific task—tea drinking in a tourist setting—to promote wellbeing. Through the lens of tastescape, as a combination of material elements, practices, and places, we emphasize that tea drinking offers a way to understand the spatial, temporal, and social relations through which wellbeing unfolds in the therapeutic qualities of tourist destinations. The study case is Lijiang Old Town, a well-known destination in Yunnan province, southwestern China. Specifically, this paper has two objectives. First, it explores why and how guesthouse owners in Lijiang organize tea activities to socialize with tourists. Second, we examine why some tourists favor tea drinking for relaxation and comfort. The tastescapes of wellbeing are threefold: spatially, building closeness to nature, sparked by absorption into the place that tourists visit; temporally, slowing down to taste tea and thus enjoy a different rhythm of life; and socially, building connection with hosts and other tourists through tea conversations. The tastescapes of wellbeing spell out the relational nature of wellbeing as something that actually happens between human beings and their surroundings rather than an intrinsic set of qualities. The emphasis on tastescape in this paper offers a valuable means to understand wellbeing as the outcome of interactions that happen in the timespace of tourism through the dynamic interplay of tourists, tea, and socionatural environments. In the last 20 years of economic reforms, China has embraced an explicit policy of urbanisation. In the literature, space and place-making are often perceived as distinct or conflicting dimensions of urban change, whereby the former is severed from or dominates the latter. By focusing on the multi-ethnic south-western frontier of Yunnan, this paper explores the effects of recent urbanisation on Tai ethnic minority communities in the expanding border city of Jinghong. It suggests that we need to conceptualise urbanisation in dialectic terms rather than as a dichotomy. Drawing on Massey (2005), it analyses space through the prism of 'multiplicity', 'interrelation', and 'openness' and place through its interconnection with the broader power geometries of space. Specifically, the paper argues that urbanisation can produce a two-way dynamic whereby space co-opts place and place permeates space through consensus, in the guise of 'ethnic modernity'. The development of foreign electricity markets has been relatively complete, while China's electricity market started late and the design of the market mechanism needs to be improved, so the selection of a suitable market model and the design of the market mechanism in hydropower‐rich regions is conducive to the healthy development of the electricity market. While most of the first eight pilot regions in China have entered the long‐period continuous operation stage, and all the second batch of six power spot pilots have started the simulation trial run. However, the construction of power markets in hydropower‐rich regions of China, Sichuan, and Yunnan, still faces multiple problems to be solved, such as ensuring the reliability of medium‐ and long‐term power supply, improving the efficiency of hydropower resources utilization and consumption scale, and maintaining the stability of market prices. In this paper, the authors establish a multi‐scale joint clearing model for different market models considering both long‐term and short‐term operation strategies, and conduct simulations of different market models at different time scales to compare and analyze the optimization results and electricity price fluctuations of different market models. It can stabilize the market price and reasonably reflect the true value of hydropower, and also promote the consumption of clean energy and guarantee the reliability of power supply in the medium and long terms. Finally, suggestions are made for the selection of electricity market models, the security of energy supply and the design of sustainable development mechanisms for hydropower in hydropower‐rich regions such as Yunnan and Sichuan in China, with a view to providing useful references for the construction of China's electricity market. In the network‐based on‐site earthquake early warning system (EEWS), the 'blind zone', namely the zone where the issued warning arrives later than the destructive S and surface waves, is one of the challenges affecting its effectiveness. The 'blind zone' is determined by the interstation distance, or equivalently the density of seismic stations, of the network. In this paper, we suggest a practical approach according to which, when in a region a temporary increase of seismic hazard is declared, additional stations are deployed in such a way that the blind zone is temporarily reduced. In the procedure, the time‐dependent neo‐deterministic seismic hazard assessment (TD‐NDSHA) plays a vital role in the identification of the regions potentially exposed to high macroseismic intensities. As a showcase example, we consider the scenario of year 2014 at the Sichuan‐Yunnan border of southwest China. The TD‐NDSHA is based on the standard NDSHA procedure at regional scale (bedrock conditions), with the 'controlling earthquakes' defined on the basis of the Annual Consultation. We show that the 'blind zone' can be reduced in the identified areas of interest (e.g., MMI ≥ VI), by deploying a limited number of additional seismic stations. In the case where false alarms can be tolerated, significant reduction of the 'blind zone' can be implemented by moving from a network‐based EEWS to a single‐sensor‐based EEWS and skipping the process of location and magnitude‐determination/prediction procedures. Yilong Lake is the southernmost plateau freshwater lake in China. The health of its watershed ecosystem is of special strategic significance to maintain the ecological security and ensure the sustainable development of regional economy and society. This paper analyzed the characteristics of landscape type in Yilong Lake Basin of 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2018 and discussed the impact of landscape pattern type changes and its effect on ecosystem services values (ESV). The results showed that: (1) The landscape types of Yilong Lake are mainly forest land and the largest dynamic degree of comprehensive 1andscape type in the six stages is 2010–2015 and the smallest is 2015–2018. (2) Spatially, the most frequent conversion was arbor forest land, which turned to shrub forest land and garden land. The rapid expansion of construction land and transportation land were turned by cultivated land area. (3) Temporally, from 1990 to 2018, the total ESV also increases year by year, and the regional distribution of high ESV is consistent with the distribution of water areas and gardens. The comprehensive analysis shows that the implementation of governance projects such as ecological protection and governance of Yilong Lake surface mountain are conducive to increase the landscape types and the total ESV. In recent years, the evolution of the magnetic flux lobes in terms of location and intensity has been attributed to paleosecular variation of the geomagnetic field, reflecting outer‐core fluid convection close to the core‐mantle boundary. However, most results were based on observational data for the past 400 years supplemented by sparse archeomagnetic studies with data for approximately 3 kyr. In this paper, we construct a relative paleointensity (RPI) record and an inclination record spanning the past ∼90 kyr based on two cores from Tengchong Qinghai Lake (Yunnan Province, China), a closed crater lake that formed in the late Pleistocene. The evolution of flux lobes and the non‐dipole field can be assessed on a much longer time scale. Although the concentration and domain state of magnetic grains in the cores vary significantly, the RPI record is still representative of geomagnetic field features in the region of Yunnan Province, China. The contrasting trends in RPI with the records for eastern China since the late Holocene indicate the southeastward migration of the Siberian flux lobe. During the last glacial period, the RPI records of Tengchong Qinghai Lake and the North Atlantic Ocean show opposite trends, denoting the diverse and strong influence of the two flux lobe systems. The strong reverse flux lobe in the North Atlantic Ocean strengthened the non‐dipole field, while the weak normal flux lobe in Tengchong weakened the non‐dipole field. Although the non‐dipole field constitutes a minor component of the geomagnetic field, its variations in strength and location over different time scales have a significant influence on the surface expression of the geomagnetic field. The flux lobes arising from the fluid convection at the boundary between the core and mantle may produce the main components of the non‐dipole field. In recent years, the distribution of magnetic flux has been discussed based mainly on instrumental data and archeomagnetic data spanning a few kyr, which limits our understanding of flux lobe evolution on a much longer time scale. In this paper, we reconstruct a relative paleointensity (RPI) and an inclination records over the past ∼90 kyr from sediments of a closed volcanic lake in Tengchong, Yunnan Province, China. The results show that the RPI in the Tengchong area differs from the records for eastern China in the Holocene and from the records in the North Atlantic Ocean during the last glacial period. We conclude that a flux lobe may have played an important role in the non‐dipole field in the Tengchong and in the North Atlantic Ocean. In this paper, the subgenus Thailandia Bílý, 1990 of the genus Anthaxia Eschscholtz, 1829 from China is reported, including two species: A. (T.) svatoplukbilyi Qi & Song, sp. nov. from Guangxi and A. (T.) rondoni Baudon, 1962 from Yunnan. The description and illustrations of the new species are provided, the illustrations and information of A. The Bainiuchang Ag polymetallic deposit is located at the junction between the Cathaysia, Yangtze, China and Indosinian blocks. It has experienced many geological events, and records excellent conditions for multiple mineralization. In this paper, elemental correlation analysis, cluster analysis, factor analysis, a semivariogram of Zn/Pb values, mineralization distribution and trend surface analysis have been carried out based on the prospecting database and ore body model. Our results show that Ag–Pb–Zn were mineralized at moderate temperatures. Tin was mineralized at high temperatures, and Sn and Zn/Pb values are well correlated. The Zn/Pb values can be used for tracing the ore-forming fluid. The semivariogram revealed that the Zn/Pb values are moderately spatially dependent, with good mineralization continuity in the 100° and 10° directions. The spatial pattern of the elemental grade correlates with mineralization enrichment. The trend surface analysis shows that the Ag, Pb, Zn, and Cu mineralization is weak in the south and strong in the north of the deposit, and the Sn grades and Zn/Pb values are high in the south and low in the north. High-temperature Sn, medium-temperature Cu, and medium-temperature Ag–Pb–Zn mineralization have occurred in a south-to-north trend. Therefore, the source of the ore-forming fluid was in the southern part of the mining area. During the migration of the ore-forming fluid from south to north, different minerals were precipitated due to changes in the physicochemical environment. The spatial patterns of mineralization may provide a basis for studying the formation of the ore deposit, and can guide ore exploration and mining in the mine area and similar ore deposits elsewhere. In this paper one new species namely Eumenes ferruapiculus sp. nov., from Yunnan (China) is described and illustrated in detail. In addition, E. affinissimus de Saussure, 1852, E. aquilonius Yamane, 1977, E. belli Giordani Soika, 1973, E. gibbosus Nguyen, 2015, and E. rubrofemoratus Giordani Soika, 1941 are newly recorded from China. The Gejiu ore district (~ 3.2 Mt Sn) is located in eastern Yunnan Province, southwest China, and is one of the largest Sn polymetallic ore districts in the world. Athough it has been widely studied, the petrogenesis of ore-related granites is still unclear. In this paper, we present petrological, geochemical, and geochronological data on the granites associated with the Kafang Cu–Sn deposit in the Gejiu ore district (65 Mt Cu ore at a grade of 1.2% and 32 Mt Sn ore at a grade of 0.6%). We use these data to constrain the source, evolution, oxygen fugacity, and tectonic setting of the granitic magmatism. Zircon U–Pb dating yielded an age of 82.8 ± 0.6 Ma for the Kafang granite. The high zircon δ18O values (7.45–9.74‰; mean = 8.80‰) and narrow range of εNd(t) values (–9.0 to –7.7) of the Kafang granite indicate a highly evolved S-type granite derived by partial melting of metamorphic basement rocks of the Jiangnan orogenic belt. Rayleigh fractional crystallization modeling, along with the increase in Hf and Sn contents and decrease in Eu/Eu* values of zircons, record extensive fractional crystallization, and Sn enrichment during magmatic evolution. The Kafang granite was relatively reduced, as evidenced by low zircon Ce/Ce* (10.0–366; mean = 171), (Ce/Nd)N (0.76–8.32; mean = 4.41), △FMQ (–2.5 to 1.2) values, and Fe3+-depleted biotite compositions (Fe3+/(Fe3+ + Fe2+) = 0–0.10), which were favorable for Sn mineralization but not for Cu mineralization. Copper in the Kafang deposit may not have been derived from the granite. Our results suggest that biotite and zircon geochemical compositions, particularly biotite Mg# and A/CNK values and zircon Hf contents, Eu anomalies, and Ce/Ce* and (Ce/Nd)N ratios, are robust tracers of different types of magmatic-hydrothermal ore deposits (i.e., Cu, Mo, W, and Sn). Late Cretaceous magmatism in the Gejiu region and other areas along the southern margin of South China formed an E–W-trending igneous belt that was likely related to northward subduction of the Neo-Tethyan plate rather than northwestward subduction of the Paleo-Pacific plate. Rock joints in faulted zones are usually filled with large amounts of fault gouge, in which clay-rich fillings are very common. Fault water can significantly influence the mechanical parameters of clay-rich fillings and affect the shear mechanical behaviour of rock joints. Based on a tunnelling project passing through a faulted zone in Yunnan Province of China, this paper investigates the mechanical behaviour of rock joints with clay-rich fillings. A series of direct shear tests are conducted on rock joint samples made from rock blocks and fillings collected from a fault zone. The shear stress‒displacement curves and shear failure characteristics of rock joints are obtained, and several key factors of the fillings are considered, such as particle size, mineral composition, clay content, and water content. Furthermore, the peak and residual shear strengths are analysed by considering the influence of the water content and normal loading pressure. The test results show that water content of fillings has a great influence on shear strength of clay-filling rock joints; there is a trend to a negative correlation between the shear strength of rock joints when water content (w) exceeds the plastic limit (wp). Finally, a shear strength model for rock joints with clay-rich fillings is proposed based on the JRC-JCS strength criterion. Landslides are one of the extremely high-incidence and serious-loss geological disasters in the world, and the early monitoring and warning of landslides are of great importance. The Cheyiping landslide, located in western Yunnan Province, China, added many cracks and dislocations to the surface of the slope due to the severe seasonal rainfall and rise of the water level, which seriously threaten the safety of residents and roads located on the body and foot of the slope. To investigate the movement of the landslide, this paper used Sentinel-1A SAR data processed by time-series interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) technology to monitor the long-time surface deformation. The landslide boundary was defined, then the spatial distribution of landslide surface deformation from 5 January 2018 to 27 December 2021 was obtained. According to the monthly rainfall data and the temporal deformation results, the movement of the landslide was highly correlated with seasonal rainfall, and the Cheyiping landslide underwent seasonal sectional accelerated deformation. Moreover, the water level change of the Lancang River caused by the water storage of the hydropower station and seasonal rainfall accelerates the deformation of the landslide. As one of the most influential CCP campaigns that dramatically transformed the Chinese pre-revolutionary society, the early 1950s land reform has not been fully explored in the case of China's ethnic periphery. This article sheds light on the CCP's land reform and its impact on China's ethnic frontier by examining the official policies, implementation, and the reactions of the southern Muslim community in Yunnan between 1949 and 1958. Drawing on county government work team reports and the Party's land reform policy and evaluation records, it argues that although southern Yunnan Muslims were able to selectively internalize some Communist secular ideologies to cope with social and political changes that land reform brought about, the inconsistency between the Party's freedom of religion policy on paper and its local implementation failed to mitigate the ideological discord between Maoist revolutionaries' atheist worldview and Muslim villagers' religiosity. The southwestern South China Block is one of the most important Sn polymetallic ore districts in the world, of which the Dulong Sn-Zn polymetallic deposit, closely related to Late Cretaceous granitic magmatism, contains 0.4 Mt Sn, 5.0 Mt Zn, 0.2 Mt Pb, and 7 Kt In, and is one of the largest Sn-Zn polymetallic deposits in this region. In this paper, on the basis of a 3D model of ore bodies established by the cut-off grade of the main ore-forming elements, the In grades were estimated by the ordinary Kriging method and the In-rich cells were extracted. The 3D models of strata, faults, granites, and granite porphyries in the mining area were established and assigned the attributes to the cells, which built buffer zones representing the influence space of the geological factors. The weight of evidence and artificial neural network methods were used to quantitatively evaluate the contribution of each geological factor to mineralization. The results show that the Neoproterozoic Xinzhai Formation (Pt3x), fault (F1), and Silurian granites (S3L) have considerable control effects on the occurrence of In-rich ore bodies. The metallogenic predictions according to the spatial coupling relationship of each geological factor in 3D space were carried out, and then the 3D-space-prospecting target areas of In-rich ore bodies were delineated. In addition, the early geological maps and data information of the mining area were comprehensively integrated in 3D space. The feasibility of 3D quantitative metallogenic prediction based on the deposit model was explored by comparing the two methods, and then, the 3D-space prospecting target area was delineated. The ROC curve evaluation shows that the results of two methods have indicative value for prospecting. Simple Summary: In addition to causing dermatitis, some gamasid mites are also the vector or potential vector of some zoonotic diseases. Located in the northwest Yunnan Province of southwest China, the Three Parallel Rivers Area of China is one of the hotspots of biodiversity research in the world. Based on the previous field survey in the Three Parallel Rivers Area from 2001 to 2015, this paper reports the species diversity and basic community characteristics of gamasid mites on small mammals in this unique geographical area for the first time. From the body surface of 3830 small mammal hosts, 26,048 gamasid mites were collected and identified as 10 families, 21 genera and 82 species (excluding 847 unidentified specimens) with high species diversity. The species diversity of the gamasid mite community fluctuated greatly in different elevation gradients. The highest peaks of species richness and β diversity appeared at altitudes of 3000–3500 m (S = 42) and 1500–2000 m (β = 17.5), respectively. The species abundance distribution of the mites was successfully fitted by Preston's lognormal model, and the total number of gamasid mite species in the Three Parallel Rivers Area was estimated to be 153 species. (1) Background: Gamasid mites are a large group of arthropods, and some of them are of medical importance. Besides directly biting humans and causing dermatitis, some gamasid mites are the vector of rickettsialpox and potential vector of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). The Three Parallel Rivers Area of China is one of the hotspots of biodiversity research in the world, with complicated topographic landforms, different types of vegetation, special elevation gradients and high biodiversity. (2) Methods: Species richness (S): the Shannon–Wiener diversity index (H), Simpson dominance index (D) and Pielou evenness index (E) were used to analyze the basic community structure. The β diversity (Cody index) was used to reflect the diversity difference between any two adjacent elevation gradients. The method based on Preston's lognormal model for species abundance distribution was used to estimate the total number of gamasid mite species. (3) Results: A total of 3830 small mammal hosts captured from the nine survey sites were identified as 44 species, 27 genera and nine families in five orders. Apodemus chevrieri, Eothenomys miletus and A. draco were the dominant host species with a total constituent ratio Cr = 52.037%. From the body surface of the hosts, 26,048 gamasid mites were collected and identified as 10 families, 21 genera and 82 species (excluding 847 unidentified specimens) with high species richness (S = 82) and diversity (H = 2.33). The three dominant mite species were Dipolaelaps anourosorecis, Laelaps nuttalli and L. echidninus, with a total Cr = 64.46% (16,791/26,048). There are significant differences in the species composition, species diversity and dominant species of gamasid mites on different hosts. The species diversity of the mite community fluctuated greatly in different elevation gradients. The highest peaks of species richness and β diversity appeared at altitudes of 3000–3500 m (S = 42) and 1500–2000 m (β = 17.5), respectively. The species abundance distribution of the mites was successfully fitted by Preston's lognormal model with S ^ (R) = 19 e − [ 0.22 (R − 0) ] 2 (α = 0.22, R2 = 0.9879). Both the regional earthquake surface wave and seismic ambient noise provide important constraints on the Earth's structure, and yet no study satisfactorily combined them for the best imaging of subsurface seismic structure. In this study, we address this issue by developing a new method to simultaneously determine surface wave phase velocity and earthquake centroid parameters in three steps: (a) preliminary phase velocity inversion based on seismic ambient noise, (b) preliminary earthquake relocation based on earthquake surface wave data, and (c) simultaneous inversion for phase velocity and earthquake centroid parameters with constraints of interstation phase velocity measurements based on seismic ambient noise and event‐station phase velocity measurements based on earthquake surface wave data. Application of the method in the North South Seismic Belt region in China results in high‐resolution Rayleigh wave phase velocity maps and accurate earthquake centroid parameters. The additional earthquake data notably improve resolution of the inverted phase velocity model in west Yunnan and central Tibetan blocks, the regions with sparse seismic station coverage. The inverted phase velocity model exhibits high‐velocity anomalies in cratonic regions and the Emeishan Large Igneous Province, and low‐velocity anomalies in the interior and surrounding regions of the Tibetan Plateau. Relocation places earthquakes in shallow depths with geotherm above the crustal rock's brittle‐ductile transition temperature of ∼400℃ $\sim 400\textdegree$, revealing thermal control on thickness of the seismogenic zone. With earthquake centroid parameters constrained, earthquake data are expected to provide further constraints on the deep seismic structure that is beyond the sampling limit of seismic ambient noise. Plain Language Summary: High‐resolution seismic image of the Earth's interior provides significant physical and structural information inside the Earth. Whereas both the regional earthquake data and seismic ambient noise provide constraints on the seismic imaging, no study yet satisfactorily combined these two types of data for the best results. In this paper, we develop a new method to combine both types of seismic data to better image seismic structure and apply the new method in the North South Seismic Belt region in China. The method consists of three steps to simultaneously determine seismic structure and earthquake source parameters. The resultant seismic images exhibit noted improvement in revealing high‐resolution seismic structure in regions with sparse seismic station coverage, such as the Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent regions. Landslide susceptibility maps (LSM) are often used by government departments to carry out land use management and planning, which supports decision makers in urban and infrastructure planning. The accuracy of conventional landslide susceptibility maps is often affected by classification errors. Consequently, they become less reliable, which makes it difficult to meet the needs of decision-makers. Therefore, it is proposed in this paper to reduce classification errors and improve LSM reliability by integrating the Small Baseline Subsets-Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SBAS-InSAR) technique and LSM. By using the logistic regression model (LR) and the support vector machine model (SVM), experiments were conducted to generate LSM in the Dongchuan district. It was classified into five classes: very high susceptibility, high susceptibility, medium susceptibility, low susceptibility, and very low susceptibility. Then, the surface deformation rate of the Dongchuan area was obtained through the ascending and descending orbit sentinel-1A data from January 2018 to January 2021. To correct the classification errors, the SBAS-InSAR technique was integrated into LSM under the optimal model by constructing the contingency matrix. Finally, the LSMs obtained before and after correction were compared. Moreover, the correction results were validated and analyzed by combining remote sensing images, InSAR deformation results, and field surveys. According to the research results, the susceptibility class of 66,094 classification error cells (59.48 km2) was significantly improved in the LSM after the integration of the SBAS-InSAR correction. The enhanced susceptibility classes and the spectral characteristics of remote sensing images are highly consistent with the trends of InSAR cumulative deformation and the results of field investigation. It is suggested that integrating SBAS-InSAR and LSM is effective in correcting classification errors and further improving the reliability of LSM for landslide prediction. The LSM obtained by using this method plays an important role in guiding local government departments on disaster prevention and mitigation, which is conducive to eliminating the risk of landslides. Assessing the risk of cropland abandonment in mountainous area is essential for ensuring food security. However, the current evaluation indicator system is incomplete, and the reliability analysis of the results is lacking. This paper proposes a spatially comprehensive assessment method of cropland abandonment risk based on AHP and PCA using multi-source data of land use, abandoned cropland, administrative area, population density, GDP, cropland soil information, and climate, and applies the method to Yunnan Province in China. Firstly, 14 indicators were selected from four aspects, including social factors, farming conditions, cropland quality, and climate factors, to construct a three-layer indicator system of "target-criteria-indicator". Fuzzy membership was used to calculate the indicator layer, and then the PCA method was applied to calculate the first principal component for the criterion layer. Finally, the AHP method was used to calculate the weighted superposition of the criterion layer. The proposed method showed good reliability in the study areas. In Yunnan Province, 33.03% of cropland is at high risk of abandonment, 37.52% is at medium risk, and 29.45% is at low risk. The high risk area is mainly distributed in the Lancang River Basin and Honghe River Basin. Social factors were found to play the greatest role in the risk of cropland abandonment in Yunnan Province. Factors such as low population density, large shape coefficient of cropland, and low annual average precipitation were identified as the main drivers of cropland abandonment in this region. Seasonal variations in the vertical Global Positioning System (GPS) time series are mainly caused by environmental loading, e.g., hydrological loading (HYDL), atmospheric loading (ATML), and nontidal oceanic loading (NTOL), which can be synthesized based on models developed by various institutions. A comprehensive comparison among these models is essential to extract reliable vertical deformation data, especially on a regional scale. In this study, we selected 4 HYDL, 5 ATML, 2 NTOL, and their 40 combined products to investigate their effects on seasonal variations in vertical GPS time series at 27 GPS stations in Yunnan, southwest China. These products were provided by the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), School and Observatory of Earth Sciences (EOST), and International Mass Loading Service (IMLS). Furthermore, we used the Cross Wavelet Transform (XWT) method to analyze the relative phase relationship between the GPS and the environmental loading time series. Our result showed that the largest average Root-Mean-Square (RMS) reduction value was 1.32 mm after removing the deformation associated with 4 HYDL from the vertical GPS time series, whereas the RMS reductions after 5 ATML and 2 NTOL model corrections were negative at most stations in Yunnan. The average RMS reduction value of the optimal combination of environmental loading products was 1.24 mm, which was worse than the HYDL (IMLS_GEOSFPIT)-only correction, indicating that HYDL was the main factor responding for seasonal variations at most stations in Yunnan. The XWT result showed that HYDL also explained the annual variations reasonably. Our finding implies that HYDL (IMLS_GEOSFPIT) contributes the most to the environmental loading in Yunnan, and that the ATML and NTOL models used in this paper cannot be effective to correct seasonal variations. This study examines the beliefs and practices of 22 teachers identified as highly effective in Yunnan Province, China, who work with students facing significant academic and social challenges. In many cases, the selected teachers work with students at the extreme end of the at-risk continuum, including students having multiple disadvantaged characteristics such as ethnic minority status and poverty. Specifically, this paper shares findings about how these teachers address their students' needs in three domains—academic, affective, and technical needs. Descriptive data from classroom observations are presented. From the themes regarding teachers' beliefs and practices that emerged from the qualitative data, the findings reveal that these teachers address students' affective, academic and technical needs concurrently through their thoughtful instructional delivery and interactions with students. The teachers not only provide academic support (e.g., using a variety of instructional strategies communicating high expectations) to their students, but also offer socio-emotional support by being caring yet firm toward students and by soliciting technical support to create a safety net for the students' well-being. In the last several years, marriage and family patterns among the Kucong Lahu of Jinping County, Yunnan, have changed significantly due to rapid economic and social changes all over China. Based on ethnographic research in Lu Village, this article explores the current "escape" migration behavior of married Lahu women. They used migration as a strategy to escape patriarchal husbands, families, and local society. This paper describes a paradox between the autonomy of women's individual actions and the inability to escape the system even when on "escapes." This paper presents a list of the species, the host plants and distribution of eriophyoid mites on bamboo in the world. Seventy-two eriophyoid species from 32 genera, associated with bamboo species from 13 genera, are listed. Twelve of the reported species belong to Diptilomiopidae and 60 to Eriophyidae. Two new species of eriophyoid mites on bamboo from Yunnan and Hunan Provinces of China are described and illustrated: Calacarus bambusissp. nov. on Bambusa sp. In this paper, based on the current situation and industry characteristics, a differential autoregressive integrated moving average model (ARIMA) is used to predict the short-term price. From the perspective of macro and micro, back-propagation neural network model (BP) was established to predict the long-term price based on the weight ranking of 16 factors affecting the price by technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution method (TOPSIS). The COVID-19 pandemic and antipandemic policies have significantly impacted highway transportation. Many studies have been conducted to quantify these impacts. This paper tried to fill this gap by proposing equations to quantify the traffic variations of overall province-wide traffic and to analyze the intercity bus traffic variation and intercity bus usage, applying the K-means cluster method to conduct the analysis of traffic reductions in regions with different levels of economic development, and using the hypothesis testing for traffic recovery analysis. It is found that passenger vehicle traffic and truck traffic dropped by 59.67% and 68.19% during the outbreak, respectively. The intercity bus traffic on highways declined by 59.8% to 98.6%, and the intercity bus usage dropped by 55.6% on average. For traffic reductions in different regions, the higher the GDP per capita was, the more the traffic was affected by the pandemic. In regions with lower GDP per capita, traffic variations were minor. It is also found that the passenger vehicle traffic went through four stages in 99 days: the Decline Stage, Rapid Recovery Stage, Slow Recovery Stage, and Normal Stage, while truck traffic only experienced the Decline Stage, Rapid Recovery Stage, and Normal Stage and took 51 days to recover to the Normal Stage. In the Rapid Recovery Stage, the recovery rates were 15.6% and 12.9% per week for passenger vehicle traffic and truck traffic, respectively, and the recovery rate was only 2.1% for passenger vehicle traffic in the Slow Recovery Stage. Despite the recovery of traffic volumes, neither passenger-kilometers nor tonne-kilometers of freight in 2020 reached the same level as in 2019. These findings help the understanding of the pandemic's impacts on highway traffic for researchers and can provide valuable references for decision-makers to develop antipandemic policies. Estimating the total wind power output from the meteorological information at a province level (called Provincial Regional Wind Power Conversion Model, PRWPCM) plays vital and fundamental roles in energy modeling community and regional wind power forecasting. How to construct a reliable PRWPCM is a real challenge, since PRWPCM involves a large number of widely distributed wind turbines, massive meteorological data across the whole province, and complex nonlinear correlations. This paper proposes a lightweight PRWPCM by integrating Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis technology and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). First, we conduct the land suitability analysis for wind turbine sites through the multi-criteria GIS layer overlay method to make the provincial wind turbine land suitability map (WTLSM) with scored divisions from the least suitable to the most suitable areas. On this basis, a new fusion mechanism for geographic and meteorological information is proposed, through which the raw meteorological data matrix can be reconstructed to filter and amplify the meteorological information that is more relevant to the total wind power output of the province, and avoid the time-consuming and labor-intensive data collection and processing, large-size model construction and validation. Second, a CNN-based regression architecture is designed to further capture the mapping relationship between the reconstructed meteorological data and total wind power output of the province; each type of meteorological factor is considered as an input channel and the attention modules are introduced to adaptively enhance useful channels and suppress less useful ones. Southwestern China, a biodiversity hotspot, underwent dramatic climate change following the Last Glacial Maximum and intensive human activity also exerted a major impact since the late Holocene. In this paper, we report a pollen record from Yilong Lake in Yunnan Province, southwestern China, to understand vegetation response to long-term climatic variation and human activities at a regional-level over the last 27,000 years. Findings show that temperate and coniferous taxa were dominant before 18 cal kyr BP reflecting the glacial climate. Between 18 and 14 cal kyr BP, thermophilic taxa increased in response to global deglaciation. A notable shift from deciduous to evergreen forests occurred at approximately 14 cal kyr BP, after which pollen concentration increased but pollen diversity decreased. Pollen assemblages indicated dense forests, primarily composed of evergreen oaks developed under warm and strong summer monsoon conditions from 13 to 8 cal kyr BP. High rates of vegetation change occurred during the middle Holocene before vegetation diversity gradually increased during the Holocene Thermal Optimum, with high variability of precipitation in the Yilong Lake region. Efforts to evaluate the susceptibility of debris flows in large areas, especially in mountainous regions, are often hampered by the alpine and canyon terrain. This paper proposes a convolution neural network (CNN) model named dense residual shuffle net (DRSNet). It is successfully applied to Nujiang Prefecture in Yunnan Province of China, a typical alpine area with frequent debris flows. DRSNet uses digital elevation model, remote sensing, lithology, soil type and precipitation data as input. First, dense connection and residual structure were used to extract the shallow features of various data. Next, channel shuffle, fuse block and fully connection were applied to strengthen the correlation between different shallow features and give inner danger scores. Finally, precipitation as the activation factor was introduced giving the valleys susceptibility. To verify the feasibility of DRSNet, comparative tests were conducted on 7 CNN models and 3 other machine learning (ML) methods. Experimental results show that DRSNet can achieve 78.6% accuracy in debris flow valley classification, which is at least 7.4% higher than common CNN models and 15.2% higher than other ML methods. Quantifying the relative influences of anthropogenic activities and climate change on soil erosion and deposition during the Holocene, when both forces have been interacting is a complex problem. Analysis of long-term patterns in soil erosion and lake deposition in a basin can provide the basis for untangling the complexities of climate and anthropogenic forcings. In this paper, sedimentary sequences from Xingyun Lake are compared with simulated soil erosion rates in the basin to explore the relationship between river basin soil erosion and lake deposition during the Holocene in Yunnan, China. Modern soil erosion rates are calculated using RUSLE, while Holocene soil erosion rates are estimated using modern rates with reconstructed precipitation and vegetation cover sequences. Through this investigation, we found the following results. First, Holocene vegetation in the lake basin was mainly affected by climate change, and the vegetation experienced the same pattern of changes as the climate. Soil erosion and lake deposition rates, along with changes to vegetation cover, were synchronous with precipitation trends during the Holocene. Second, soil erosion and lake deposition have been exacerbated by human activities, such as deforestation and land reclamation in the Xingyun Lake basin. Finally, this study provides new insights into the effects by anthropogenic impacts and climate forcing on the processes of soil erosion and lake deposition on the millennium scale. The Changning-Menglian Belt in western Yunnan, China, is a critical tectonic zone that preserves remnants of the Paleotethys Ocean, including limestones of possible seamount origin. Fusulinids, sensitive indices for age and paleoenvironment, are abundant in these limestones but have rarely been the subject of taxonomic study. This paper presents new fusulinid collections of middle Kasimovian (Late Carboniferous) to Artinskian (Early Permian) age from two sections located in the middle and northern parts of this belt. In the Mangyang Section, the fusulinids are grouped into the Triticites abundance zone and the Sphaeroschwagerina sphaerica range zone, while in the Anxincao Section, they comprise the S. sphaerica range zone, the Eoparafusulina interval zone and the Chalaroschwagerina solita range zone. The distinct Cathaysian affinity is indicated by the dominance of Triticites in the Late Carboniferous and Early Permian assemblages characterized by Sphaeroschwagerina, Eoparafusulina and Chalaroschwagerina. On the other hand, these fusulinids contrast sharply with coeval fusulinids in the peri -Gondwana region, which are impoverished and dominated by Eoparafusulina / Pseudofusulina. However, Early Permian fusulinids in this belt still differ from their counterparts in Cathaysian South China in terms of 1) lower diversity, as confirmed by a robust quantitative comparison (Rarefaction analysis); 2) peculiar rarity of Pseudoschwagerina. Collectively, these data imply that the studied fusulinids probably colonized marine environments far from the mid-latitude peri -Gondwana region, while detached from equatorial South China. Altered volcanic ash with highly-elevated concentrations of Nb(Ta), Zr(Hf), Ga, and rare earth elements and yttrium (REY) is an untraditional type of critical metal deposit that has been discovered in Yunnan Province, southwest China. Previous studies have briefly described the modes of occurrence of Nb(Ta)-Zr(Hf)-REY-Ga in the ore deposit, showing that Zr and Hf are mostly hosted in zircon; light rare earth elements (LREE) mainly occur in REY-bearing carbonates and phosphates; Nb and Ta are primarily hosted in the former Fe-Ti oxide phases and zircon; and Ga is predominantly associated with clay minerals. However, previous studies of the modes of occurrence of critical metal elements (Nb-Ta-Zr-Hf-REY-Ga) have been limited to qualitative or semi-quantitative studies of individual mineral grains, and quantitative research of the modes of occurrence of these elements in whole rocks is absent. This paper quantifies the modes of occurrence of critical elements (Nb-Ta-Zr-Hf-REY-Ga) using a sequential chemical extraction method. The results show that about 65.3–86.7% Nb is associated with hydrofluoric acid (HF)-soluble aluminosilicates (clays) and 13.3–34.7% in the insoluble phases such as Nb-rutile. Approximately 87.6–90.2% Zr is the primary hosted in zircon and 9.5–12.0% Zr appears to be associated with HF-soluble aluminosilicates in the altered volcanic ash. In felsic altered volcanic ashes (Al 2 O 3 /TiO 2 ratio between 21 and 70), the REY are predominantly in the authigenic minerals such as REY-bearing aluminum phosphates and sulfates of the alunite supergroup (APS minerals), carbonates or fluorocarbonates. About 74.0–89.4% LREE, 26.5–34.2% middle rare earth elements (MREY), and 22.1–24.8% heavy rare earth elements (HREE) occur in HF-soluble aluminosilicates. In intermediate altered volcanic ash samples (Al 2 O 3 /TiO 2 ratio between 8 and 21), 93.0% LREE are associated with insoluble phases such as monazite and zircon. Modes of occurrence of elements in Ge-rich coals are important because they provide an understanding of Ge mineralization and insight into Ge behavior during coal combustion and the modes of occurrence for Ge in the resulting combustion products. Previous researchers showed that the leaching of granite by N 2 – CO 2 mixed hydrothermal solutions in the Lincang coal in southwest China led to the enrichment of Ge. Elevated Ge concentrations from leaching of granite by hydrothermal solutions have been established in the nearby Lincang Ge ore deposit; however, the influence of hydrothermal solutions, especially mixed hydrothermal solutions, on the modes of occurrence of elements in coal have not been quantitatively analyzed. In this paper, we focus on the quantitative analysis of the influence of mixed hydrothermal solutions on the modes of occurrence of elements in coal. Samples used in this study were collected from the Dazhai Mine, located in the Lincang Ge ore deposit, Yunnan Province, southwestern China. The correlation coefficients between pyrite, ash yield, Al 2 O 3 , and SiO 2 versus elemental concentrations in coal are processed with the correlation analysis algorithm. The results show that a distinct break in pyrite content of ∼16.8 wt% as a threshold for different elemental modes of occurrence of elements as a result of hydrothermal fluids. The modes of occurrence of As and Hg changes from an organic-inorganic mixed affinity to predominantly in pyrite by the influence of volcanic hydrothermal fluids when the content of pyrite is higher than 16.8 wt%. • A correlation analysis algorithm is used to analyze the modes of occurrence of elements in high-germanium coals. • Existence of the associations between element concentrations and pyrite-content-changes. • Many elements show a significant change in correlation around 16.8 wt% pyrite content. Deep reflection seismic data contain abundant surface wave information for which the velocity structure in the near-surface shallow underground can be obtained using multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW). This paper uses the MASW method to process deep reflection data in the Yuanmou area in Yunnan province, China. The MASW method uses the phase velocity spectral transformation of Rayleigh waves to obtain its dispersion curve. The initial model for different lithology classifications is established to invert the underground velocity structure. This study obtains a two-dimensional shear wave velocity structure profile to investigate the shear wave velocity structure. Generally, the study results have shown that the shear wave velocity structure obtained by the MASW method corresponds well with the surface conditions and accurately reflects faults' changes, folds, and lithology. Moreover, the formation sand content calculation shows a large difference in Dongshan sag's formation sand content. The sand contents of Cretaceous and Middle Jurassic strata are over 30% similar, and the sandstone content of underlying Early Jurassic strata is mostly 30% lower. The stratum buried depth of Early Jurassic strata is between 0– 800 m. The dip angle of LZJF at this location is 90°. The west side of the LZJF is based on Proterozoic uplift, and the Quaternary sedimentary thickness exceeds 300 m above the uplift stratum. Whereas on the east side of the LZJF, the stratum of the Dongshan sag section is mainly a synclinal structure. • Multichannel analysis of surface waves method is applicable to surface wave data in deep reflection profile. • The interlayer velocity difference method can be used to distinguish strata by shear wave velocity. • Shallow velocity structure can distinguish shallow geological structure with high resolution. The urban agglomeration area is a heavy disaster area of PM2.5 pollution, and the problem of PM2.5 pollution seriously affects the natural environment and public health. Accurate prediction of PM2.5 concentrations in urban agglomerations is the basis for effective environmental management. Deep learning methods such as Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) have been applied to PM2.5 concentration prediction in urban agglomerations. However, the existing research methods have low prediction accuracy and poor practicality, and lack a universal method to accurately predict PM2.5 concentrations in 19 urban agglomerations of China. Based on this, this paper combines BiLSTM and CNN, and introduces a Learning Rate Schedule (LRS) to propose a hybrid model of LRS + BiLSTM + CNN. This model combines the advantages of BiLSTM and CNN to extract temporal and spatial features of PM2.5 data. In addition, LRS is introduced in the process of model training, which dynamically adjusts the learning rate of the network model and reduces the training cost of the model. Finally, the daily average datasets of six air qualities from nineteen urban agglomerations of China are used as examples, and seven benchmark network models, CNN, Long Short-Term Memory, BiLSTM, CNN + LSTM, LSTM + CNN, and CNN + BiLSTM, are considered for validation experiments. The results show that the prediction effect of the proposed model is significantly better than that of the benchmark model in 17 urban agglomerations, such as Mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations and Central Yunnan urban agglomeration. Compared with the above seven benchmark models, the prediction accuracy is improved by 12.7%, 8.9%, 12.4%, 12.8%, 16.4%, 19.7%, 9.5%; 10.2%, 24.2%, 14.4%, 17.9%, 18.4%, 19.9% and 2.6% respectively. The LRS is fully applicable to nineteen urban agglomerations, which has clear effects on the optimization of the network model. LRS + BiLSTM + CNN has high accuracy and practicality in predicting PM2.5 concentrations in urban agglomeration areas in China, and can provide effective technical support for environmental governance of urban agglomeration areas. [Display omitted] • The Songshan tin deposit occurred at the end of Late Cretaceous, not in Triassic as previous suggested. • The end of Late Cretaceous is another important tin metallogenic period in the Lancangjiang tin belt. • The tin mineralization not only can occur in the magmatic arc, but also in the hinterland behind the magmatic arc. The Songshan tin deposit is located in the northern Lincang granitic batholith along the Lancangjiang tin belt, Western Yunnan, southwestern China. The ore bodies mainly occur as tourmaline-quartz veins with NNE- and/or NW-trending in the Triassic Pinghejie granitic pluton, and the schist of the Proterozoic Songshan Formation. The previous study suggested the tin mineralization in the Songshan deposit should occur in the Triassic, but no directed age data support it. This hinders the understanding of the genesis of the Songshan tin deposit, especially the tin mineralization in the Lancangjiang tin belt. Here, we report the zircons U-Pb ages of 222.7 ± 1.6 and 222.0 ± 2.4 Ma for the granodiorite, 215.1 ± 1.5 and 223.0 ± 2.0 Ma for the biotite monzogranite, and 222.3 ± 2.3 Ma for the alter granite from the Pinghejie granitic pluton. The monazite from the monzogranite yields a U-Pb age of 212.8 ± 1.9 Ma. We also obtain two garnet U-Pb ages of 215.1 ± 8.7 Ma and 213.5 ± 7.2 Ma from skarn, and two cassiterite U-Pb ages of 76.6 ± 1.5 Ma and 79.6 ± 3.6 Ma from tin ores. These data suggest that tin mineralization in the Songshan deposit occurred at the end of Late Cretaceous, which is quite different from the ages of the Pinghejie granitic pluton emplaced and the formation of skarn. The zircon Hf isotopes (εHf(t) = –22 ∼ -12) and monazite Nd isotopes (εNd(t) = -13.04 ∼ -11.80) indicate that the Pinghejie granitic pluton was derived from the remelting of Paleoproterozoic crust. The paper concluded that the tin mineralization in the Songshan deposit occurred at the end of Late Cretaceous. It is another important metallogenic period in the Lancangjiang tin belt, which may be related to the subduction of the NeoTethys oceanic crust. Water, energy and food (WEF) are three basic elements that safeguard human life and socioeconomic development. As the demand for water increases in food and energy production, water scarcity is more prominent globally. WEF Nexus plays an important role in evaluating and alleviating the contradiction between food and energy for water. Based on the water footprint of food and energy in China from 1997 to 2016, this paper used the "Structure-Conduct-Performance" analysis paradigm to evaluate the water competition mechanism. The newly constructed competition mechanism model includes type, conduct and performance. The results showed that the blue water footprint of energy increased from 3.25 Gm³ in 1997 to 12.54 Gm³ in 2016. The blue water footprint of food remained above 200 Gm³ for many years, and competition between food and energy production for water was intensifying. The gray water footprint of energy was increasing yearly, and food reached the maximum value of 181.01 Gm³ in 2014. Through model analysis, the South-to-North Water Diversion has not effectively alleviated water scarcity, and a few provinces were still classified in the water pressure-dominated area. The northern channel of West-to-East Power Transmission only transferred electric energy from water pressure-dominated area, causing the unsustainability coefficients of Inner Mongolia and Yunnan to increase from 0.09 and 0.03 in 1997 to 0.23 and 0.05 in 2016. • Cavity-dwelling filamentous microorganisms accommodated in a valve-like organism from the uppermost Dengying Formation (Ediacaran) in eastern Yunnan are reported for the first time. • Well-preserved filaments develop mycelial networks with abundant branching pattern. • Probable saprophytic interaction between microorganisms and valve-like organism is discovered. The Ediacaran–Cambrian transition, one of the major turning points in Earth's history, is characterized by an epoch-making change in biosphere. In South China, the late Ediacaran Dengying Formation (ca. 551–538 Ma) is an important stratigraphic unit yielding trace fossils, tubular skeletal fossils and some complex forms that represent possible bilateral animals. The fossil-bearing Ediacaran strata of eastern Yunnan is hitherto known from the Jiucheng Member containing the Jiangchuan Biota, together with the enigmatic cosmopolitan taxon Shaanxilithes. Here, we present for the first time cavity-dwelling filamentous microorganisms accommodated within a valve-like fossil from the upper Baiyanshao Member of the Dengying Formation at the Sujiawa Section in Huize County, eastern Yunnan of China. SEM scanning and Micro-CT reconstruction indicate that the well-preserved filaments were characterized by mycelial network structures with abundant branching pattern. Preservation of filamentous microorganisms might result from the decay process of soft parts that were originally accommodated and enclosed within the valve-like organism, and subsequently preserved by early diagenetic phosphatization, which obscures their original organic identity and chemical composition. This paper potentially presents the first fossil evidence of a saprophytic relationship between microorganisms as decomposers and a valve-like organism prior to the eve of the Cambrian Explosion of metazoan animals. In this paper we use archaeometallurgical data from the Yunnanese Bronze Age sites of Hebosuo and Shangxihi, to examine the nature of early exchange networks within Yunnan, across southern China and into Mainland Southeast Asia (MSEA). Traditional perspectives on relations between China and MSEA were viewed from a Core-Periphery (C–P) perspective, derived from World Systems Theory (WST) but this area, though now divided by national borders, has shared ecological and cultural characteristics that allow its definition as the Southeast Asian Massif (SAM). The fourteen analysed samples were all unleaded copper or bronze, mostly as-cast and with some annealing. Their lead isotope signatures did not group at site level but showed broad consistency with the other, limited, signatures available from Yunnan, Sichuan and Guangxi. Critically, comparison with MSEA signatures revealed good isotopic consistency with key Bronze Age sites in Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam, active within tight timeframes, and mostly lying on or near the path of major river systems that find their source in or via Yunnan. The picture we propose, based on current data, is one of a complex network of autochthonous SAM societies interacting at short (ca. 50 km), medium (ca. 300 km) and long (ca. 800–1600 km) ranges over mountainous and forested terrain. • Yunnan and Mainland Southeast Asia have recently aligned Bronze Age chronologies. • 14 copper-base artefacts from early 1st mill.
