Risperidone microspheres for injection, as the first long-acting injection of the second generation antipsychotic drugs in China, combines the advantages of long-acting dosage forms and atypical antipsychotics, and had accumulated rich clinical application experience for more than ten years, bringing significant clinical benefits to schizophrenia patients. On the basis of the Expert Opinions on Clinical Application of Atypical Long-acting Injection (Risperidone Microspheres for Injection) in 2012, experts organized by Schizophrenia Collaboration Group of the Chinese Psychiatry Society systematically summarized the latest guidelines and evidence-based evidence at home and abroad, and combined with the clinical practice in China, formulated the Expert Consensus on Clinical Application of Risperidone Microspheres for Injection, aiming at improving the scientific and normative clinical use of risperidone microspheres for injection and providing better clinical medication guidance for clinicians. Lurasidone is a second-generation anti psychotic drug which has a high affinity for dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT7 receptors. Several clinical trials in patients with schizophrenia indicated lurasidone' s effect on improving psychotic symptoms, affective symptoms and cognitive symptoms, and it also manifested fewer side effects on metabolic indicators. Based on the evidence from previous studies on lurasidone and clinical experiences of experts from China Mainland and Taiwan, this experts' advice has been formed with an aim to provide guidance on the use of lurasidone in clinical practice.
