This paper aims to present a conceptual framework for Project Management on supply chains in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Supply Chains 4.0), taking into consideration the gap that exists regarding this subject in the literature. An analysis of the literature, evidencing this gap has been conducted using the Web of Science and Google Scholar databases as well as the VOSviewer software for a deeper analysis. Although 39 related articles were identified, they are not specifically linked to the subject of Project Management methodology. Considering this significant gap, a conceptual framework has been proposed by combining some constructs of Supply Chain 4.0 with the ten knowledge areas of the PMBOK - Project Management Body of Knowledge framework. This conceptual framework is herein named Supply Chain Project Management 4.0 – SCPM 4.0. Although this conceptual framework is not based on empirical research, it brings a relevant contribution to both researchers and practitioners, since it is a unique approach concerning Project Management for supply chains in the Industry 4.0 age. Future empirical studies are needed to validate and improve the conceptual framework herein presented. This paper is novel, considering that it addresses a significant knowledge gap linked to Project Management for supply chains in the context of Industry 4.0. Moreover, it brings practical guidance for practitioners involved in programs and projects of Industry 4.0's initiatives in supply chains. E-commerce is an area in which success largely depends on the e-commerce applications used. Currently, there are many studies that focus on various technological innovations in e-commerce systems, but a comprehensive concept of their improvement is lacking. In this regard, the main objective of the article was to explore the technological possibilities for the improvement of e-commerce systems and to propose a conceptual framework for their maintenance and development. The chosen research approach included a combined methodology–text mining analysis of existing developments and identifying the key themes and trends in papers and deep scientific analyses of the most-cited developments. As a result, a conceptual framework for the maintenance and development of e-commerce applications was proposed. To test the approach, publications from the scientific literature database Scopus, on the topic "e-commerce applications" were used. Experiments and text processing were performed with the software RapidMiner Studio. Several main directions for the development of e-commerce systems have been defined: the application of modern development tools; the technological base; and the possibilities of integration. Wastewater treatment and reuse are important means of addressing water scarcity and protecting the aquatic environment in urban areas. However, it comes at the cost of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. However, the issues of governance and provincial-scale research have largely been ignored in current urban wastewater treatment and reuse studies. This paper summarizes the current status of 175 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Beijing, explores energy-intensive processes, energy consumption ratios, and the overall energy intensity of WWTPs, and maps the structure of urban wastewater treatment and reuse governance. The results indicate that most WWTPs in Beijing are medium or small in scale, treating wastewater at less than 200 thousand tons/day. Then, five energy-intensive subprocesses are identified, and their energy consumption ratios vary with treatment technologies and management factors, which calls for individual WWTP analysis and plant-specific strategies. The energy intensity of WWTPs in Beijing varies with treatment capacity and membrane bioreactor treatment technology used. Large-scale WWTPs employing MBR technology have a higher average energy intensity. Furthermore, the current coordination group and the four-layer policy system provide sufficient executive power and promote efficiency in departmental collaborations. Finally, inconsistent data, reductions in energy consumption, and the normalization of the governance structure are discussed, and policy suggestions are proposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Temporarily disconnecting from social media has become more widespread in recent years with users choosing to limit or stop engaging with social media platforms for a period of time. There are no published syntheses that integrate the collective research on this phenomenon, nor how this behaviour is experienced. This review provides insight into the research on this phenomenon and proposes a conceptual framework for understanding social media user's temporal discontinuance experience. We conducted a scoping review of 27 articles published during 2010–2020, focusing on the most salient factors of temporal discontinuance. Our review revealed a number of issues related to users' motivations for temporal discontinuance, including the need to address self-reported problematic and excessive social media use, the want to restore control and/or agency, as well as the desire to minimise distractions and address privacy concerns. We identified the various benefits and challenges temporal disconnectors experience and describe two specific practices related to their return to social media use: 1) manipulating technological and/or platform affordances and/or 2) self-regulating behaviours. Self‐care performed by patients and the caregiver contribution to this self‐care are essential for improving cardiovascular outcomes; however, so far, no studies have sufficiently investigated this field in Italy. This paper describes a research protocol of a multi‐center longitudinal study designed to investigate the self‐care of patients affected by coronary heart disease (CHD), the caregiver's contribution to this self‐care, the predictors of patient and caregiver self‐care, the mediating role of self‐efficacy, and the self‐care outcomes. Data collection will be performed across seven Italian inpatient settings at baseline and 3 and 6 months from enrollment. Multilevel modeling and actor partner interdependence models will be implemented on a sample of 330 patient–caregiver dyads to adjust for the interdependence of measurements. The study received approval from an ethics committee in Italy and was financed in January 2021 by a grant from the Solidal Foundation in Alessandria. This research will advance the knowledge about the self‐care process in CHD. The results will guide research and clinical practice by identifying variables sensitive to educational interventions. Authors of this paper generally seeks to provide a review of literature related to the research phenomenon. This paper aims to discuss the structure of the responsibility of e-marketplaces in shaping fair e-commerce practices on a theoretical basis. Based on key insights in the scientific literature our study affirms that e-marketplaces play an important role in engendering consumer trust. Findings - in order to expand this approach on systematic paradigm, the authors of the article specifically embody a conceptual review, a theoretical review, an empirical review and establish a conceptual basis for the study of the analysed social phenomenon. A conceptual overview provides definitions of the key terms that underpin the study as conceptualized by various others. The theoretical review reflects discussions of various theories that explain the link between structures, regulations, rules and policies of e-commerce and consumer trust. The empirical review presents the findings of previous studies related to the study. The paper concludes with a Conceptual Framework outlining the expected relationships between the study variables. Visual Analytics (VA) has shown to be of significant importance for Supply Chain (SC) analytics. However, SC partners still have challenges incorporating it into their data-driven decision-making activities. A conceptual framework for the development and deployment of a VA system provides an abstract, platform-independent model for the whole process of VA, covering requirement specification, data collection and pre-processing, visualization recommendation, visualization specification and implementation, and evaluations. In this paper, we propose such a framework based on three main aspects: 1) Business view, 2) Asset view, and 3) Technology view. Each of these views covers a set of steps to facilitate the development and maintenance of the system in its context. The framework follows a consistent process structure that comprises activities, tasks, and people. The final output of the whole process is the VA as a deliverable. This facilitates the alignment of VA activities with business processes and decision-making activities. The purpose of this paper is to present a conceptual framework to facilitate academics and practitioners' decision making related to multi-objective facility layout planning (mFLP) by employing a bottom-up approach. Based on a literature survey framed in the mFLP context, this work identified and discussed a set of criteria that have become limitations of the traditional top-down approach. These criteria served as the basis to conceive the proposed conceptual framework. Our conceptual framework formalises FLP as a multi-objective problem by following the two traditional planning phases (block- and detailed phase) in reverse by a bottom-up approach, and by also integrating a third phase, called the refined phase, which has not previously been contemplated in the literature. Apart from identifying the inputs and outputs of each phase, the conceptual framework groups together several objectives related to mFLP that have been recently considered in the literature and formalises and contextualises them according to the planning phase in which they are involved. The paper presents an integrated framework of success and failure factors of agricultural cooperatives and its applicability based on a review of recent literature and an illustrative case study. We identify six categories of success and failure factors: the societal environment, quality of management, strategy, member base, commitment, and product aspects. Contrary to expectations that failure factors mirror success factors, the framework shows that the two represent distinctive features in at least some of the distinguished categories. The analysis of an agricultural cooperative in Peru, selected and presented as an illustrative case study, shows the applicability of the framework for the analysis of success and failure factors of cooperatives. The bioeconomy has been proposed worldwide as a way to combat global environmental and socio-economic challenges, from climate change to income diversification and food security. Consequently, the term "bioeconomy" has gained considerable attention in the economic field over the last 15 years. Interestingly, an alleged global sustainable development model has become the subject of intense sustainability debate among researchers in recent years. The sustainability of the bioeconomy itself remains unanswered today. Most of the previous studies on sustainable bioeconomy focused on the analysis of the impacts on technology related to environmental issues while overlooking the socio-environmental implications and excluding society. Meanwhile, various studies highlight potential socio-environmental negative impacts associated with the new economic model. It is possible that the increased use of biological resources could further compromise ecosystems and create increasing social and ethical issues. Furthermore, this economic model could bring new environmental challenges related to the excessive use of soil and water. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine and identify potential socio-environmental sustainability challenges and pitfalls that need to be addressed in order to ensure a successful transition to a sustainable bioeconomy. Following a systematic literature review, scientific studies and field reports were selected for this review after searching Google Scholar, Web of Science and Scopus databases. A key driver of workplace cognitive competencies is metacognition which has been shown to impact performance among nurses, teachers and firefighters, however, it is scarcely studied among managerial employees. The research investigating this relationship is also scattered across multiple domains limiting its’ utility for researchers and practitioners. This paper, therefore, presents an integrative review of the existing empirical literature from the Web of Science and Scopus database to trace the linkages of metacognition, workplace cognitive competencies and performance at work. The identified linkages are then formulated into a conceptual framework clarifying how various workplace cognitive competencies and performance may be linked to metacognition. The findings indicate linkages between metacognition and various workplace cognitive competencies such as problem-solving, decision-making, innovation, creativity and knowledge acquisition. The present research also establishes the link of metacognition and cognitive competencies with learning, individual and firm performance. This paper fills the gap in the studies addressing the problem of corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept implementation maturity in an organization approached holistically. It is based on an integrative literature review covering 104 publications indexed in WoS and Scopus. The literature review shows that the maturity of the implementation of CSR at the organizational level is rarely the subject of assessment. The authors dealing with CSR maturity focus their deliberations on such specific areas of enterprise functioning as IT, operational management, supply management, product design and project management. Other authors place CSR among different areas that should be taken into account while determining the maturity of implementation of Industry 4.0 or organizational reputation management. The most commonly used measurement is the five-point scale of the levels typical for CMMI. The theoretical models presented in the source literature are rarely subject to empirical operationalization. This study offers a four-dimensional CSR maturity model that can be used to assess the maturity level of the CSR concept implementation in different types of organizations and also to analyze and compare the maturity levels of different organizations. The dimensions are areas, stakeholders, actions and participation. There are five levels of CSR maturity and only the achievement of the fifth levels in all four dimensions proves the highest level of CSR. The usefulness of the model was determined by eight experts (practitioners working in different organizations) with the use of the "sum-score decision rule". This paper reviews existing research within two fields; game studies and cultural heritage, discovering inadequacies in current digital means of cultural heritage preservation. It is not unheard of that commercial games have been utilized to showcase them, but they tend to get glossed over in favor of serious games. Therefore, this study details two new tools that can further identify and assess the level of cultural heritage content in commercial games which will benefit not just their digital preservation, but also game developers and game design researchers. A unique conceptual framework was developed for analysing video game content specifically on four elements of cultural heritage and five elements of game components in both tangible and intangible forms. Exploratory tables of metrics were also created to quantify said content with the help of the existing Goal Question and Metric (GQM) table. They were then put to the test in two trials; Experiment I analysing 6 game franchises and Experiment II testing 28 games. Both demonstrated the presence of significant amounts of cultural heritage, much more than past works credited. Background: There is an increasing focus on readiness of health systems to respond to survivors of violence against women (VAW), a global human rights violation damaging women's health. Health system readiness focuses on how prepared healthcare systems and institutions, including providers and potential users, are to adopt changes brought about by the integration of VAW care into services. In VAW research, such assessment is often limited to individual provider readiness or facility-level factors that need to be strengthened, with less attention to health system dimensions. The paper presents a framework for health system readiness assessment to improve quality of care for intimate partner violence (IPV), which was tested in Brazil and Palestinian territories (oPT).Methods: Data synthesis of primary data from 43 qualitative interviews with healthcare providers and health managers in Brazil and oPT to explore readiness in health systems.Results: The application of the framework showed that it had significant added value in capturing system capabilities - beyond the availability of material and technical capacity - to encompass stakeholder values, confidence, motivation and connection with clients and communities. Our analysis highlighted two missing elements within the initial framework: client and community engagement and gender equality issues. Subsequently, the framework was finalised and organised around three levels of analysis: macro, meso and micro. The micro level highlighted the need to also consider how the system can sustainably involve and interact with clients (women) and communities to ensure and promote readiness for integrating (and participating in) change. Addressing cultural and gender norms around IPV and enhancing support and commitment from health managers was also shown to be necessary for a health system environment that enables the integration of IPV care.Conclusion: The proposed framework helps identify a) system capabilities and pre-conditions for system readiness; b) system changes required for delivering quality care for IPV; and c) connections between and across system levels and capabilities. Objective: The purpose of this scoping review is to synthesize and map available evidence on the design of "housing with care" (HWC) schemes to inform design decisions built on objective data from previous research, which is key to ensuring such schemes are fit for purpose for older people. Background: HWC is becoming increasingly recognized as a model for developing housing schemes for older people and balances independent living with elevated levels of care. However, as this scheme is still relatively novel, there are currently no established theoretical frameworks to inform design. Methods: Scoping review, thematic analysis, and mapping methods were used to comprehensively search for and synthesize evidence that links design with assessments of quality-of-life data for HWC schemes. Study findings for each included paper were subject to data extraction for inductive analysis, and the quality of each study was assessed using a modified critical appaisal skills programme (CASP) checklist. Results: Our searches yielded 821 unique references, of which 18 unique articles met the inclusion criteria. The outcomes of interest were the design considerations or features in HWC schemes and their impact on the residents. The main themes identified were related to design element, accessibility, maneuverability, views, design procedure, and quality of life (QOL). Further subthemes identified across papers were identified to create a comprehensive map of the key features to consider in designing HWC schemes. Conclusion: This review provides an initial framework for designers and architects to (1) understand the effect of each design element of HWC and (2) inform design to ultimately improve the QOL of aged people. Energy-consuming countries are affected by obstructions in supplies or conflicts that may occur along the energy transit path. Hence, the presence of a global logistics hub for energy acting as a connecting bridge between energy-supplying and energy-consuming countries can overcome such troubles, support the sustainable flow of energy, and achieve the overall operational efficiency of the energy supply chain. However, establishing a global energy hub is a complicated issue, especially in the absence of a clear approach for this. Through conducting a systematic literature review on 36 papers over the past two decades, we identified the key determinants for each player in the energy supply chain and proposed a leading and integrated conceptual framework for establishing and operating a global logistics energy hub, with a particular focus on oil and gas. This article contributes to knowledge by providing a comprehensive review targeting energy hubs from a logistics perspective, as previous studies have addressed energy hubs from other perspectives such as political, legal, and security perspectives, while the logistics perspective has not been tackled comprehensively. Moreover, the suggested framework can be then used by further researchers to develop the performance of energy hubs. By tradition, transport appraisal relies primarily on travel time savings and monetary values. Assessment tools rarely factor in the perspective of travellers in terms of their subjective travel experience while on the move. Worthwhile travel time introduces the idea that travel can be pleasant, meaningful or worthwhile and not exclusively associated with the economic utility of the activity at the destination of the trip and the work-related productivity during the trip. This paper explores how the "worthwhile use of travel time" can be conceptualised and unpacked, so that it can be adequately captured and integrated into transport appraisal practice. We reviewed the literature on worthwhile travel time and perceived travel experience in psychology, economics, public health and travel behaviour research and we formulated the conceptual framework of worthwhile travel time that is grounded on the traveller's perception of three forms of value emerging from existing literature: enjoyment, productivity, and health. Our conceptual framework of worthwhile travel time suggests that experience factors (i.e. travel conditions as experienced by the traveller) can enable travel activities (i.e. the trip itself or activities on-the-move), which in turn unlock the values of enjoyment, productivity and fitness that influence the perceived worthwhileness of a trip to a different degree each. Additional (explanatory) factors such as the door-to-door trip characteristics, the traveller's personal characteristics and attitude, and the spatial and temporal conditions can also influence the perceived worthwhileness of a trip. On a policy level, the integration of the worthwhile travel time concept into transport appraisal practice could allow future transport investments to offer a better balance between reduced travel times and improved quality and experience of a trip for the traveller. The current conceptual paper aims to draw attention of prominent scholars in the domain of HRM, organizational performance and related technology. The study reviews to forward an important conceptual framework that require research attention to help organizational scientists and corporate practitioners to understand whether or not, E-HRM can be of any significance to directly boost organizational performance. In addition, the current study also objects to hint on the likely significance of technological opportunism in boosting and strengthening E-HRM and organizational performance association. Though, not much has been studies in this regard yet still, the authors provide an important framework demanding urgent empirical attention after careful appraisal of extant literature. Conclusively, the paper recommends scholars to consider investigating to emphasize the need for investment in digitization of HRM functions to improve organizational performance and how technological opportunism can help to further this association for better end results. This article explores the pivotal role of corporate finance in shaping and implementing sustainable business practices within the contemporary corporate landscape. In the context of an increasingly globalized and environmentally conscious world, businesses are confronted with the imperative to integrate sustainability principles into their core strategies. The field of corporate finance, traditionally associated with capital allocation and financial management, is being redefined as a strategic enabler of sustainability. This paper presents a comprehensive conceptual framework that elucidates the synergistic relationship between corporate finance and sustainable business practices. The framework posits that corporate finance plays a multifaceted role in sustainability, comprising three key dimensions. First, it encompasses the mobilization and allocation of capital towards sustainable initiatives, emphasizing the importance of impact investment and responsible financing. Second, corporate finance facilitates risk management through the incorporation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors, fostering long-term resilience and value creation. Lastly, it supports strategic decision-making by promoting sustainability metrics as vital performance indicators. Furthermore, this article dissects the various mechanisms through which corporate finance influences corporate sustainability, encompassing financial innovation, stakeholder engagement, and corporate governance. By recognizing that corporate finance is not merely an ancillary function but a strategic driver of sustainability, firms can harness its potential to create competitive advantages, enhance brand reputation, and secure access to sustainable financing sources. Crowdsourcing arose as a problem-solving strategy that uses a large number of workers to achieve tasks and solve specific problems. Although there are many studies that explore crowdsourcing platforms and systems, little attention has been paid to define what a crowd-powered project is. To address this issue, this article introduces a general-purpose conceptual model that represents the essential elements involved in this kind of project and how they relate to each other. We consider that the workflow in crowdsourcing projects is context-oriented and should represent the planning and coordination by the crowdsourcer in the project, instead of only facilitating decomposing a complex task into subtask sets. Since structural models are limited to cannot properly represent the execution flow, we also introduce the use of behavioural conceptual models, specifically Unified Modeling Language (UML) activity diagrams, to represent the user, tasks, assets, control activities and products involved in a specific project. While water‐energy‐food (WEF) Nexus is one of the most important, and widely investigated, environmental topics of our time, previous stock taking efforts possess notable limitations, namely (i) their focus is restricted to research articles, and (ii) there is less focus on nexus permutations that begin with energy and food. This paper assembled more than 900 documents and systematically categorized them according to more than 10 key parameters (e.g. scale, methods, limitations), to characterize approaches, achieved outcomes and presence of variables likely to support on‐the‐ground change. Our results reveal that WEF Nexus activities are often driven by the water sector, undertaken at global and national scale and authored by experts from diverse backgrounds. Among the utilized methods, modelling and review (i.e. systematic) are the most common. While climate change and governance are routinely considered in WEF Nexus documents, gender, stakeholders and capacity are not. This paper systematises knowledge of public participation by bringing together existing concepts and theories from planning literature to conceptualise the 3A 3 -framework of participation. The framework presents participation as an emergent phenomenon, shaped by the dimensions: actors, arenas and aims. Each of these dimensions consists of three interacting elements. The framework highlights interdependencies between these elements and reflects them in the light of their embeddedness in planning processes and the wider social, cultural, political, spatial and temporal context. The framework can be used to gain a better understanding of what constitutes the phenomenon of participation. It enables the reflection of different forms of participation and contributes to more nuanced, and context-sensitive conceptions of and approaches to public participation in planning. This paper provides a systematic review of scientific resources to determine the components and indicators of the scholarly publication system. The research community includes 1070 documents from Scopus and the Web of Science databases. Another researcher was used to determine the degree of accuracy, reliability, and quality of the final documents, and the agreement between the two researchers was calculated with the Kappa coefficient. Finally, 331 documents were studied in full text. Possible components and indicators were identified from these documents, and their information was entered into Excel software. Based on the frequency and similarity of the contents, the conceptual framework of the scholarly publication system was designed. Research findings show that the main components of this system include infrastructure, technology, management, access, evaluation, support, language, communication, control, education, and ethics. Each of the components also has specific indicators and sub-indicators. Some issues, such as rights, laws, regulations, standards, repositories, scientific players, and centers, are not mentioned among the components because these concepts are integrated into other parts. The paper critically examines the extent to which Malawi's economic and political developments, leading to the country's Third Republic, have contributed to the country's quest towards achieving the basic attributes of a democratic developmental state. An analytical framework is developed to examine this covering the post-independence political and economic regimes. The analysis reveals that despite experiencing some episodes of high growth rates, the country has been marred by autocratic tendencies, rampant corruption and nepotism. The standard definition for "physicalizations" is "a physical artifact whose geometry or material properties encode data" [47]. While this working definition provides the fundamental groundwork for conceptualizing physicalization, in practice many physicalization systems go beyond the scope of this definition as they consist of distributed physical and digital elements that involve complex interaction mechanisms. In this article, we examine how "physicalization" is part of a broader ecology--the "physecology"--with properties that go beyond the scope of the working definition. Through analyzing 60 representative physicalization papers, we derived six design dimensions of a physecology: (i) represented data type, (ii) way of information communication, (iii) interaction mechanisms, (iv) spatial input-output coupling, (v) physical setup, and (vi) audiences involved. Our contribution is the extension of the definition of physicalization to the broader concept of "physecology," to provide conceptual clarity on the design of physicalizations for future work. Aim: To synthesize evidence on the concept of reassurance in nursing practice. Design: Integrative review. Review Method: PubMed, OVID MEDLINE, CINAHL and PsycINFO were searched from their inception to the 30 May 2020. The search results were screened. We assessed the quality of primary studies using the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool. Included studies were analysed using narrative synthesis. The review protocol was pre‐registered (PROSPERO‐CRD42020186962). Results: Thirty‐two papers out of the 2,771 search results met our inclusion criteria. The synthesis of evidence generated three intricate themes, namely "antecedents of reassurance," "defining attributes of reassurance" and "outcomes of reassurance." Emotional distress was the main antecedent of reassurance. The three sub‐themes identified under defining attributes of reassurance include self‐awareness, emotional connectedness and verbal and non‐verbal techniques. Ultimately, reposing the confidence of patients and their families in healthcare professionals and the care delivery process to enable them to overcome their challenges constitutes the outcomes of reassurance. In industrial development, sustainability evaluation is vital. A structured framework is required to develop sustainable policies within an organisation. A company's sustainability framework includes elements or performance measures to ensure appropriate development in policies, people, products, procedures, and overall performance. The study examined these frameworks and related factors in the manufacturing industry from 2007 to 2020. Any industry, including manufacturing, must use a sustainability evaluation framework and apply it. However, manufacturing industries lack methodological frameworks for assessing sustainability. The paper examined the problems and opportunities that sustainable frameworks present to the manufacturing business. This sustainable assessment framework focuses on the triple bottom line concept such as economic, social and environmental aspects of an industry. Employee engagement, continuous learning, supply chain management, and many other factors are essential elements of this framework. A secondary data analysis process has been followed for this research article to go through a wide range of data regarding this topic from different journal articles and websites. An exploratory study design has been included in this research for in-depth analysis of collected data. Theories play an important role in guiding intimate partner homicide (IPH) prevention research and practice. This study is the first systematic review of theories employed to explain why someone might kill their intimate partner. This review used rigorous methods to locate and synthesize literature that described explanatory theories of IPH perpetration. Using set search terms, we systematically searched 15 databases and repositories for theory-focused documents (i.e., theory papers or analyses) published in English from 2003 to 2018. Eighteen documents met these inclusion criteria and identified 22 individual theories that seek to explain why people might kill their intimate partners. These theories fell within four broader theoretical perspectives: feminist, evolutionary, sociological/criminological, and combined. Key tenets and focal populations of these 22 theories were identified and organized into a compendium of explanatory theories of IPH perpetration. Potential strengths and limitations of each of the four perspectives were described. Review findings underscored the likely importance of addressing gender as well as risk and protective factors at all levels of the social ecological model in efforts to understand IPH perpetration. The review findings highlighted the need for both integrated theories and a broader conceptual organizing framework to guide work aimed at IPH perpetration prevention to leverage the strengths of disparate theoretical perspectives. The paper provides a systematic review and analysis of the current literature on big data (BD) applications in the context of food supply chain management (FSCM) in order to categorize the state-of-the-art research trends exploring the adoption and implementation of big data analytics (BDA) across different segments of food supply chain (FSC). The use of BDA brings the digital transformation of FSCs closer providing sustainable implications and added value to their operation. Harnessing BD's potential is becoming more and more relevant in addressing the constantly evolving complexities in food systems. However, the field of BD applications in the FSCM domain is severely fragmented and relatively "primitive". The present research is one of the earliest attempts to recognize and present a comprehensive analysis for the BD applications across different segments of FSC proposing a conceptual framework that illustrates the role of BD in a data-driven FSCM environment. For the purposes of our research, we adopted the systematic literature review (SLR) method aiming at the identification of the dominant categories and themes within the research area. Based on the SLR findings, we propose a conceptual framework that captures the interconnection between FSC performance and BD applications by using the input-process-output (IPO) model within a data-driven FSCM context. The main research contribution lies on the thematic classification of relevant research, the conceptualization of this fragmented field, the development of a conceptual framework, and the presentation of a future research agenda pertaining to BD applications in a data-driven FSCM context. Background Perinatal mental health difficulties can occur during pregnancy or after birth and mental illness is a leading cause of maternal death. It is therefore important to identify the barriers and facilitators to implementing and accessing perinatal mental health care. Objectives Our research objective was to develop a conceptual framework of barriers and facilitators to perinatal mental health care (defined as identification, assessment, care and treatment) to inform perinatal mental health services. Methods Two systematic reviews were conducted to synthesise the evidence on: Review 1 barriers and facilitators to implementing perinatal mental health care; and Review 2 barriers to women accessing perinatal mental health care. Results were used to develop a conceptual framework which was then refined through consultations with stakeholders. Data sources Pre-planned searches were conducted on MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsychInfo and CINAHL. Review 2 also included Scopus and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. Review methods In Review 1, studies were included if they examined barriers or facilitators to implementing perinatal mental health care. In Review 2, systematic reviews were included if they examined barriers and facilitators to women seeking help, accessing help and engaging in perinatal mental health care; and they used systematic search strategies. Only qualitative papers were identified from the searches. Results were analysed using thematic synthesis and themes were mapped on to a theoretically informed multi-level model then grouped to reflect different stages of the care pathway. Results Review 1 included 46 studies. Most were carried out in higher income countries and evaluated as good quality with low risk of bias. Review 2 included 32 systematic reviews. Most were carried out in higher income countries and evaluated as having low confidence in the results. Barriers and facilitators to perinatal mental health care were identified at seven levels: Individual (e.g. beliefs about mental illness); Health professional (e.g. confidence addressing perinatal mental illness); Interpersonal (e.g. relationship between women and health professionals); Organisational (e.g. continuity of carer); Commissioner (e.g. referral pathways); Political (e.g. women’s economic status); and Societal (e.g. stigma). These factors impacted on perinatal mental health care at different stages of the care pathway. Results from reviews were synthesised to develop two MATRIx conceptual frameworks of the (1) barriers and (2) facilitators to perinatal mental health care. These provide pictorial representations of 66 barriers and 39 facilitators that intersect across the care pathway and at different levels. Limitations In Review 1 only 10% of abstracts were double screened and 10% of included papers methodologically appraised by two reviewers. The majority of reviews included in Review 2 were evaluated as having low (n = 14) or critically low (n = 5) confidence in their results. Both reviews only included papers published in academic journals and written in English. Conclusions The MATRIx frameworks highlight the complex interplay of individual and system level factors across different stages of the care pathway that influence women accessing perinatal mental health care and effective implementation of perinatal mental health services. Recommendations for health policy and practice These include using the conceptual frameworks to inform comprehensive, strategic and evidence-based approaches to perinatal mental health care; ensuring care is easy to access and flexible; providing culturally sensitive care; adequate funding of services; and quality training for health professionals with protected time to do it. Future work Further research is needed to examine access to perinatal mental health care for specific groups, such as fathers, immigrants or those in lower income countries. Plain language summary Mental health problems affect one in five women during pregnancy and the first year after birth (the perinatal period). These include anxiety, depression and stress-related conditions. Mental health problems can have a negative effect on women, their partners and their children. They are also a leading cause of maternal death. It is therefore important that women who experience mental health problems get the care and treatment they need. However, only about half of women with perinatal mental health problems are identified by health services and even fewer receive treatment. This research aimed to understand what factors help or prevent women getting care or treatment for perinatal mental health problems. We did this by pulling together the findings from existing research in three phases. In phase 1 we reviewed the evidence from research studies to understand why it has been difficult for health services to assess, care for and treat women with perinatal mental health problems. In phase 2 we reviewed evidence from women’s perspectives on all of the factors that prevent women from being able to get the care and treatment they need. In phase 3 we worked with a panel of women, health professionals (such as general practitioners and midwives) and health service managers to look at the findings from phases 1 and 2. We then developed frameworks that give a clear overview of factors that help or prevent women getting care and treatment. These frameworks show 39 factors that help women access services, and 66 factors that prevent access. Based on these results we have developed guidance for government, NHS service managers and health professionals, such as general practitioners, midwives, health visitors, nurses and wider teams such as receptionists. This will be shared widely with health services and professionals who support women during pregnancy and after birth to improve perinatal mental health services so that care meets women’s needs. Scientific summary Background and objectives Perinatal mental health (PMH) difficulties can occur during pregnancy or after birth. They commonly consist of anxiety disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and stress-related conditions such as adjustment disorder. PMH difficulties are particularly important because of the potential negative impact on women, their partners and children. For example, they are associated with an increased risk of maternal suicide, a decline in relationship satisfaction and long-term impacts on children’s development. It is therefore important that women with PMH difficulties can access care and treatment. However, research suggests only half of women with PMH problems are identified by health services and even fewer receive treatment. This research therefore aimed to identify potential barriers and facilitators to PMH care across the care pathway, both in terms of women accessing care, and in terms of health services implementing new PMH assessment and treatment initiatives. Our primary research objective was to develop a conceptual framework of barriers and facilitators to PMH care (defined as identification, assessment, care and treatment) to inform PMH services, and highlight where further research is needed. This was done through two systematic reviews which synthesised the evidence on: Review 1 (R1) barriers and facilitators to implementing PMH care; and Review 2 (R2) barriers to women accessing PMH care. Results were used to develop a conceptual framework which was then refined through consultations with stakeholders (e.g. women, general practitioners, midwives, health visitors, psychiatrists, commissioners, third-sector organisations, etc.). Results were used to inform recommendations for policy, practice and future research in PMH care. Secondary research objectives were to: (1) determine the barriers and facilitators to implementing PMH care in health and social care services; (2) identify differences in barriers and facilitators across different health and social care settings; (3) evaluate the quality of this evidence; (4) extract recommendations for implementation, practice and research based on the barriers and facilitators identified; (5) determine the barriers and facilitators to women accessing PMH care; (6) evaluate the quality of these reviews; and (7) map the geographical distribution of the research to establish generalisability and gaps in the evidence. Review methods For both reviews pre-planned searches were carried out in MEDLINE (1946–present), EMBASE (1974–present), PsychInfo (1806–present) and CINAHL (1982–present). R2 also used Scopus and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (Issue 8 of 12, August 2021). MeSH terms (i.e. prenatal care/anxiety/diagnosis) and Boolean operators ‘OR’ and ‘AND’ were used. Eligibility criteria for R1 were empirical studies that examined factors that either facilitated or impeded implementation of PMH care in health or social care services. These could be qualitative interviews with health professionals (HPs) or women about services; or studies describing the implementation of PMH care services. Eligibility criteria for R2 were reviews of literature on barriers and facilitators for women in the perinatal period (defined as conception to one year postpartum) to access assessment, care or treatment. Information on barriers and facilitators had to be directly drawn from perinatal women’s experiences. Only systematic reviews with a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) search strategy were included. Search results were imported into Endnote and duplicates were removed. Remaining studies were then imported into Eppi-Reviewer. In R1 10% of the results were double screened. In R2 all studies were double screened. For both reviews, 10% of included studies had their data extracted in duplicate. Methodological quality appraisal was conducted using the Joanna Briggs Critical Appraisal Tools for R1, and dual appraisal was conducted for 35% of included papers. Most studies (n = 44) had a quality rating above 70% suggesting that studies were well-conducted with low risk of bias. For R2, methodological quality of reviews was appraised using A measurement tool to assess systematic reviews-2 (AMSTAR) tool, and dual appraisal was carried out for all included reviews. The majority of reviews were evaluated as having low (n = 14) or critically low (n = 5) confidence in their results. Therefore, a qualitative sensitivity analysis was carried out to assess whether themes remained consistent across all reviews regardless of their quality rating. Only qualitative papers were identified. Results were analysed using a thematic synthesis and mapping themes on to a systems level model adapted from Ferlie and Shortell’s Levels of Change framework (e.g. individual level factors, HP factors, organisational factors and larger system factors) (Ferlie EB, Shortell SM. Common Mental Disorders: A Bio-Social Model. New York, NY: Tavistock/Routledge; 1992.). Review results Review 1 searches identified a total of 21,535 citations. After screening by title and abstract 10,130 records were excluded, leaving 931 papers to be screened by full text. Screening of full texts identified 43 studies to be included in the review. Forward and backward searches identified a further three papers. Therefore, 46 qualitative studies were included in the qualitative synthesis. Studies were mainly carried out in higher income countries (HICs). Implementation occurred in a wide range of settings including hospitals (n = 14); primary care (n = 12); and community-based care (n = 12). Most studies (n = 22) looked at the implementation of comprehensive care services (including screening, referral and treatment). Review 2 searches identified a total of 4086 citations. After removing duplicates and studies not meeting inclusion criteria, 2028 articles were left to be screened. Screening by title and abstract led to 1962 records being excluded, leaving 66 papers to be screened by full text. Screening of full texts identified 32 reviews of qualitative studies to be included in the meta-review. Reviews were conducted between 2006 and 2021. The number of studies included in each review varied from 4 to 40 with a total of 344 studies included across all the reviews. The reviews included studies carried out in 24 different countries. Most reviews focused on perinatal depression. Qualitative sensitivity analysis found that most themes were supported in both the higher quality and lower quality reviews. Including all reviews meant the data was richer and included marginalised women, such as refugees, migrants and women living in sub-Saharan Africa. This suggests results from R2 can be interpreted with reasonable confidence. Overall, in terms of geographical distribution and type of mental illness most studies were carried out in HICs (R1: n = 38; R2: n = 28), and the majority focused on perinatal depression (R1: n = 32; R2: n = 23). Barriers and facilitators to PMH care were identified from R1 and R2. Results from both reviews were merged together and mapped on to seven levels informed by Ferlie and Shortell’s (2001)40 framework (Ferlie EB, Shortell SM. These were: (1) Individual factors; (2) HP factors; (3) Interpersonal factors; (4) Organisational factors; (5) Commissioner factors; (6) Political factors; and (7) Societal factors. Factors at these levels impacted on PMH care at different stages of the care pathway. Individual level factors were the most influential in women’s decision to consult. Women not understanding HPs roles (n = 12) or not understanding what perinatal mental illness (PMI) was (n = 14) were the most cited barriers. The largest individual level facilitator to deciding to consult was recognising something was wrong (n = 8). In terms of first contact with HPs, the most commonly cited reason for women dropping out of the care pathway was if HPs were dismissive about mental illness or normalised women’s symptoms (n = 8). Assessment of PMH was influenced by multiple factors. At the individual level, the most cited barrier was the presence of family and friends with negative beliefs about mental illness (n = 7). At the HP level, assessment specific behaviours such as carrying it out in a tick box way (n = 12) was the most cited barrier. At the interpersonal level, women and HPs being able to speak openly and honestly about assessment was the most cited facilitator (n = 5). At the organisational level, the most common facilitator was the acceptability of assessment or screening for both HPs and women (n = 17). Women deciding to disclose their symptoms was also affected by multiple factors. At the individual level, fear of being judged as a bad mother (n = 7) was the most cited barrier. HPs appearing too busy was the most cited barrier (n = 5) at the HP level. A lack of a trusting relationship between women and HPs (n = 10) was the most cited interpersonal barrier. Linked to this, at the organisational level, a lack of continuity of carer (n = 8) was the most cited barrier. Stigma (n = 18), culture (n = 13) and maternal norms (n = 15) were all societal level barriers preventing the disclosure of PMH symptoms. The most commonly cited factors affecting referral were collaborative working across services (n = 7) and organisational referral procedures (n = 7). Multiple factors influenced access to treatment. At the individual level, the most cited barriers to accessing care were logistical issues such as not having childcare (n = 14), the location of the care and difficulties travelling there (n = 13). Language barriers were the biggest interpersonal barrier to women accessing care (n = 4) and related to this, a lack of culturally sensitive care was the most cited organisational barrier to access (n = 7). At the commissioner level, the most cited barrier to access was a lack of appropriate or timely services for women (n = 11). At the political level a lack of financial resources to pay for health care (n = 14) was a barrier to access. In terms of provision of optimal care, at the HP level, HPs possessing valued characteristics (n = 9), such as being trustworthy and caring, were facilitators to the provision of optimal care. At the interpersonal level, a lack of trusting relationship was a barrier to optimal care provision (n = 5). At the organisational level, the provision of individualised care (n = 11) that was appropriate to women’s needs (n = 12) was a facilitator. A lack of training related to PMI and treatment was the most cited organisational barrier (n = 15). At the wider levels, immigration status (n = 5), stigma (n = 8) and culture (n = 6) were barriers to optimal care. Multiple factors impacted women’s experience of treatment or care. At the individual level, social isolation (n = 7) was a barrier to women’s experience of care as it exacerbated their mental health difficulties further. HPs who provided hope to mothers, were caring, supportive, empathetic and went above and beyond meant women had a positive care experience (n = 9). Individualised and person-centred (n = 11) care was also associated with a positive care experience. In terms of barriers and facilitators within different health and social care settings, within hospitals the most cited factors influencing implementation were lack of time or a heavy workload (n = 8), and whether HPs were positive about the care being implemented (n = 8). In primary care, the most commonly cited factors that influenced implementation were stigma (n = 8) and family presence (n = 8). In community settings the most important factors were training (n = 8) and the characteristics of the person providing the care (n = 6). Across low-income countries, stigma (n = 4) and lack of training (n = 4) were the most cited barriers to implementation. Similarly, when health services were located in higher income countries, but women from a refugee or different cultural background accessed them, stigma (n = 6) and lack of HP training (n = 6), along with HP’s heavy workload (n = 6) and lack of collaborative working (n = 6) were the most cited barriers. The MATRIx conceptual frameworks Results from both reviews were synthesised to develop two conceptual frameworks. Eight stages outlined by Jabareen were followed to develop the frameworks: (1) mapping the selected data sources; (2) extensive reading and categorising of the selected data; (3) identifying and naming concepts; (4) deconstructing and categorising the concepts; (5) integrating concepts; (6) synthesis, resynthesis and making it all make sense; (7) validating the conceptual framework using stakeholder meetings and the Confidence in the Evidence from the Reviews of Qualitative research (CERQual) approach; and (8) rethinking the conceptual framework. Two MATRIx conceptual frameworks were developed that highlight the importance of 66 barriers and 39 facilitators to PMH care at multiple levels and that intersect across the care pathway. These conceptual frameworks informed the development of evidence-based recommendations on how to address barriers to ensure that all women are able to access the care and support they need. Recommendations were made for health policy, practice and research. Conclusions The MATRIx conceptual frameworks on barriers and facilitators highlight the need for women-centred, flexible care, delivered by well-trained, knowledgeable, and empathetic HPs working within an organisational and political structure that enables them to deliver quality care. Results also suggest a need for international efforts to reduce stigma associated with mental health difficulties. Recommendations for practice and policy were made. While recommendations are based on the evidence, they may be more or less achievable, depending on the local and national context and pressures on services. Based on the evidence, it is suggested that policy makers: (1) review the conceptual frameworks and take comprehensive, strategic and evidence-based steps to ensure there is an effective system of PMH care; (2) ensure services are adequately funded and there are enough trained staff in order to ensure every woman with PMH difficulties is able to access appropriate treatment in a timely fashion; and (3) improve access to health care for all through free health care and a fair and easy-to-access welfare system. The evidence suggests that recommendations for healthcare practice include: (1) designing care with women to ensure it meets their needs; (2) providing culturally sensitive care and increasing the accessibility of care through pictorial aids and translators; (3) ensuring chosen technology is fit for purpose, and co-designed with HPs; (4) services working together; (5) employment of enough staff from a variety of health disciplines; and (6) HPs receiving high-quality training, with protected time to complete it. Limitations In R1 only 10% of abstracts were double screened and, given the large number of citations to screen, some papers may have been missed. Similarly, in R1 only 10% of included papers were methodologically appraised by two reviewers. Both reviews only included papers published in academic journals and written in English. Relevant reviews from health services, charities, third-sector organisations and other grey literature may have been missed. Furthermore, the majority of reviews in R2 were evaluated as having low (n = 14) or critically low (n = 5) confidence in their results. However, this was mitigated through the use of a qualitative sensitivity analysis. Future work Further research is needed to examine access to PMH care for specific groups, such as fathers, immigrants or those in lower income countries. More research is needed on facilitators to implementing and accessing PMH care, as well as appropriate measures to help service managers assess whether a service is working effectively. The preservation of historic structures is a complex and evolving field that requires a delicate balance between traditional methods and modern technology. This paper presents a conceptual framework for integrating terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) into the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), bridging the gap between the past and the future. By examining the historical context of the HABS and the emerging potential of TLS, the paper explores the feasibility, effectiveness, and methodological considerations for incorporating this advanced technology into the standard heritage building documentation practice. The research is structured into four main chapters, each addressing a critical aspect of the integration process, from the proposal of the study to the development of guidelines for TLS data acquisition, processing, and management. The paper also delves into the selection of projects for case studies, the application of the framework, and a critical evaluation of its effectiveness. As a conceptual paper, it lays the foundation for a Ph.D. dissertation, offering a comprehensive roadmap for future research and practical implementation. The insights and guidelines provided in this paper aim to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and richness of heritage documentation, contributing to the broader field of heritage preservation and underscoring the importance of embracing technological advancements while honoring historical integrity.

Purpose – This paper outlines a contemporary conceptual framework for the embedding of experiential learning into a business consultancy module. Experiential learning is a fundamental teaching approach that allows students to apply theory into a working business context. Design/methodology/approach – As a conceptual and not an empirical paper, the methodological approach was to draw upon the literature reviewed and to build a framework to support student learning through a business consultancy module. Findings – Exploration of the literature suggests that there are four elements critical to student learning in experiential learning environments: action, reflection, social and context. A framework has been developed utilising these elements with the interaction between the factors being key to developing learning. Research limitations/implications – So far, the framework is conceptual, and further research is needed to explore its use when staff members are developing these types of modules and to understand the interaction of the factors over the course of the student learning experience. Originality/value – The originality comes from the intersection and interaction between the core factors in experiential learning, which enables this framework to move thinking beyond more static models and hence work in a more fluid student learning environment.

The concept of "ageing in place" has become increasingly significant in the environmental gerontology literature. Despite its predominance, there have been limited efforts to offer a more comprehensive and nuanced conceptualization of this topic. Definitions found in the literature are often too simplistic and only partially capture the various aspects of older adults' experience while ageing in place. This paper presents a conceptual framework on ageing in place in the context of neighbourhood environment which aims to address this gap by proposing a multi-faceted understanding of ageing in place processes through the lenses of a capability approach, a more comprehensive definition of the concept, and related overarching principles. Building on predominant theories in environmental gerontology, this conceptual framework offers new insights into the interactions between "place" and the "ageing individual". Housing development calls for collaboration through a multipronged and concerted effort from all stakeholders to acquire resources within institutional arrangements set by state and local governments. Despite growing attention by UN-Habitat towards the New Urban Agenda for affordable housing, the role of institutional collaboration among stakeholders has been overlooked. For purpose of the present research, a structured literature review was conducted based on 33 papers collaborative archetypes in the affordable housing sector. A typology of key collaborative approaches in housing research and practice is presented jointly to juxtapose these approaches emphasizing the integration of stakeholder engagement with institutional patterns of resource acquisition. The present study offers a conceptual framework of Institutional Stakeholder Collaborations (ISCs) beyond the conventional definitions and concepts of collaboration. The ISCs framework offers a two-level agenda, encouraging scholars and academicians to examine stakeholder engagements and resource dependency patterns within the institutional arrangements for future empirical research, to navigate the affordable housing provision effectively. The measurement of farm economic viability has received intermittent academic interest with limited attention given to the conceptual framework surrounding the issue. This paper focuses attention on farm economic viability in Ireland where there are growing concerns about a two-tiered agricultural sector with increasing levels of economic vulnerability. The measurement of farm economic viability is usually based on the headcount ratio, which identifies whether a farm business is viable or non-viable and does not inform about the extent of non-viability. Therefore, it is necessary to develop alternative techniques to provide more clarity on viability levels and thereby inform assessments regarding the efficacy of the Common Agricultural Policy. This paper draws on concepts from the poverty literature to develop a viability gap measure and a viability severity measure. The results are sensitive to the choice of indicator and point to a wide distribution of viability between the most viable and least viable farms. The headcount ratio provides the basis for an incomplete assessment of viability levels and multiple indicators should be considered in monitoring viability levels. • The Farm Viability Gap is calculated using methods from the poverty literature. • The Viability Gap shows wide dispersion in the viability of farms in Ireland. • Farm Viability improves in disadvantaged areas of natural constraint. • The 2018 summer drought has a large impact on the viability gap. • Off-Farm employment is highest for the least viable 20 per cent of farms. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the literature on resilience factors applied to post-disaster reconstruction projects and to develop a guiding framework to assist in their strategic selection and application. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic review was undertaken on the literature's account in four major bibliographic databases to elicit resilience factors contributing to improving post-disaster reconstruction projects' robustness. Through summative content analysis and open-coding of research outputs over the past decade, the factors identified informed the development of a conceptual framework that can significantly impact the built environment's resilience development process. Findings: The review found 24 resilience factors open-coded into five criteria groups: governance, innovations, reconstruction approaches, resource management and stakeholder expectations. While these factors have influenced reconstruction projects, the recently increased participation of clients and end-users in construction management accentuates their strategic selection and applications. Research limitations/implications: The research focused on English language articles; therefore, any claim to a comprehensive resilience factors listing can be amiss. The framework provides a platform for developing clear measurement indicators for allocating project resources and determining resilience deficiencies. Practical implications: Results confirm the designs and assessment of a resilient built environment extends beyond the traditional structural characteristics, but includes the ability of the integrated network of buildings and infrastructure to support the continuous delivery of the community's social and economic services in normal and post-disaster settings. Originality/value: The review is very specific as it attempts to develop a novel conceptual framework for guiding developers and practitioners in the application of resiliency to post-disaster reconstruction projects. This research aims at assessing the competence of Vietnamese seafarers who work on international merchant vessels. We use a multi-criteria approach to develop a conceptual framework for evaluating seafarer's competence with three main criteria groups (i.e., professional capacity, interpersonal skills, and working attitude) and 10 sub-criteria. We then apply this framework to assess the competence of Vietnamese seafarers based on an empirical research conducted in Hai Phong city. Data was collected through a survey of 96 valid respondents from three main stakeholder groups, i.e. shipping companies, training centers, and experienced seafarers. Statistical analysis was carried out to validate the proposed framework and to define the strength and weaknesses of Vietnamese seafarers. We also define the difference among stakeholder groups' opinions, pointing out the gap in competence expectation between the industry and the seafarers themselves. Recommendations for improving Vietnamese seafarer's competence were given accordingly, followed by the discussion of the academic and managerial implications and the limitations of the paper. There is a strong relationship between monitoring and controlling risks from several perspectives and developing effective measures to ensure continuous improvement by creating value in occupational health and safety. Business systems that transform into complex and sociotechnical systems have a dynamic structure and contain various serious risks that threaten employee health and safety based on the technological development. Even if the risk impact is reduced with the classical attempts of occupational safety experts to prevent losses, new risks may arise owing to missed risks. Therefore, risks must be continuously monitored and controlled with functionally complementary tools. In addition, these tools must interact with each other. Achieving effective results from their effort in coping with risks is another key factor for businesses. In this paper, an integrated conceptual framework for monitoring and controlling risks in occupational health and safety is proposed. The proposed framework consists of four parts. The hypothesis proposed in the first part focuses on learning from accidents, and that proposed in the second part is related to the proactive analysis and evaluation of risks. The hypothesis proposed in the third part deals with the correct ranking of risks, and that proposed in the fourth part focuses on the development of an early-warning system based on safety technologies. The hypotheses should interact and support each other in the integrated conceptual framework. In this paper, we aim to explore students' experiences of support mechanisms that support their wellbeing on an engineering degree programme at a research-intensive higher education institution and understand how theory relates to practice. This study was conducted using a mixed-methods approach involving student survey responses (N = 173), interviews with 16 students and focus groups. Kahu and Nelson's conceptual framework was used as a lens through which to explore student support mechanisms. Preliminary data analysis indicates that the intense workload adversely affects students as do some of the interactions they have with personal tutors and their peers. Our findings suggest that workload needs to be reduced, personal tutors need to fill gaps in their skills set, especially associated with student support, and institutional and departmental protocols be continually updated to support student wellbeing. Additionally, student wellbeing officers and professional, dedicated wellbeing advisors could be part of a long-term solution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
