Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a common and fatal manifestation of antisynthetase syndrome (ASS). The aim of this study was to provide new insight into investigate peripheral blood lymphocytes, CD4+ T cells, cytokine levels and their relation to the clinical profile of untreated patients with ASS-ILD. The retrospective study population included thirty patients diagnosed with ASS-ILD and 30 healthy controls (HCs). Baseline clinical and laboratory data were collected for all subjects, including peripheral blood lymphocyte, CD4+ T cell subsets measured by flow cytometry, and serum cytokine levels measured by multiple microsphere flow immunofluorescence. Their correlations with clinical and laboratory findings were analyzed by Pearson's or Spearman's correlation analysis. In addition, the Benjamini-Hochberg method was used for multiple correction to adjust the p-values. Patients with ASS-ILD had lower CD8+ T cells, higher proportion of Th17 cells and Th17/Treg ratio than HCs. Serum cytokine levels (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-12, IL-17, IL-8, IL-2, IL-4, IL-10, TNF-α and IFN-γ) were higher in patients with ASS-ILD than HCs. Moreover, Th17/Treg ratio was negatively correlated with diffusing capacity of carbon monoxide (DLCO)%. Our study demonstrated abnormalities of immune disturbances in patients with ASS-ILD, characterized by decreased CD8+ T cells and an increased Th17/Treg ratio, due to an increase in the Th17 cells. Cytokines may related to intrauterine Hepatitis B virus (HBV) transmission. 205 HBsAg(+) pregnant cases and 74 HBsAg(-) women were included. Neonatal blood samples were taken within 24 h of delivery and before HBV vaccinations. Serological HBV biomarkers and cytokines were detected. 21.9 % of the newborns from HBsAg(+) women were intrauterinally transmitted, including 7.3 % with dominant transmission (DBT) and 14.6 % occult transmission (OBT). HBV DNA load (odd ratio [OR], 1.44; 95 % confidence interval [CI], 1.05-1.98), interferon-γ (IFN-γ) (OR, 1.01; 95 %CI, 1.00-1.02) and toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) (OR, 1.27; 95 %CI, 1.06-1.52) positively correlated with DBT. Only IFN-γ (OR, 1.01; 95 %CI, 1.00-1.01) positively associated with OBT. According to the generated restricted cubic spline, TLR9 was positively correlates with rise of DBT in a log-shape. It may be possible to develop a nomogram which intercalates these factors to predict intrauterine HBV transmissions. Bovine mastitis, caused by Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B Streptococcus; GBS), poses significant economic challenges to the global dairy industry. Mouse models serves as valuable tools for assessing GBS-induced infections as an alternative to large animals. This study aimed to investigate the LD50 dose, organ bacterial load, and quantification of peritoneal leukocyte populations for GBS serotypes Ia and II isolates from China and Pakistan. Additionally, we measured indicators such as lactoferrin, albumin, and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity. Pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-2) and anti-inflammatory cytokines (IL-10 and TGF-β) in serum and tissue samples were evaluated using ELISA and qPCR, respectively. BALB/c mice (4 mice per group) received individual intraperitoneal injections of 100 μl containing specific bacterial inoculum concentrations (ranging from 10 5 to 10 9  CFU per mouse) of Chinese and Pakistani GBS isolates (serotypes Ia and II). Control groups received 100 μL of sterile PBS. Results revealed that the LD50 bacterial dose causing 50 % mortality in mice was 10 7  CFU. The highest bacterial load in all experimental groups was quantified in the peritoneum, followed by blood, mammary gland, liver, spleen, lungs, and brain. The most significant bacterial dissemination was observed in mice inoculated with Pakistani serotype Ia at 24 h, with a subsequent notable decline in bacterial counts at day 3. Notably, infection with Pakistani serotype Ia showed a trend of increased total leukocyte counts, significantly higher than Pakistani serotype II, Chinese Serotype Ia, and Chinese serotype II. A substantial influx of neutrophils and lymphocytes was observed in response to all tested serotypes, with Pakistani serotype Ia inducing a significantly higher influx compared to other groups (Pakistani serotype II, Chinese serotype Ia, and Chinese serotype II). Furthermore, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-2, and IL-6 expressions were significantly increased in mice one day after infection with the Pakistani serotype Ia. Compared to mice infected with the Pakistani serotype II, Chinese Serotype Ia, and Chinese serotype II, those infected with the Pakistani serotype Ia isolate exhibited the highest production of IL-10 and TGF-β, along with significantly increased concentrations of lactoferrin, albumin, and MPO. These findings suggest that the persistence and severity of infection caused by the Pakistani serotype Ia may be linked to its ability to spread to deeper tissues. Background: Interleukin17 (IL17) is an important cytokine in host defense at mucosal surfaces and also mediates many autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In recent years, many types of research relevant to the structure and function of IL17 have been identified. However, there is no bibliometric analysis in this research field. This study aims to explore the history, research hotspots, and emerging trends of IL17 from the perspective of the structure and function dynamics. Methods: Articles relevant to IL17 in the last two decades were retrieved through the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. The bibliometric analysis was performed by VOSview. Results: A total of 882 papers in this research were analyzed from 65 countries, and the rate of published articles has increased from 2008 annually, with the USA, China, and Germany leading the research effort. Frontiers in Immunology has significantly impacted research in this field and the University of Pittsburgh was the leading institution. Gaffen, Sarah L. from the University of Pittsburgh was the most productive researcher in this field and Papp Ka from the Probity Medical Research Incorporate of Canada is the most co-cited author. The analysis of keywords showed that inflammation, expression, Th17 cells, and cytokines were the main hotspots and frontier directions of IL17. The trend of clinical application in the future is the development of new therapy drugs based on the structure of IL17 or IL17 signaling pathway molecular. Conclusions: Our research summarized the developments and research trends of IL17 and would help researchers understand the research status of IL17 and provide a reference for future researchers as soon as possible. Prostate cancer is one of the significant diseases that threaten the survival of men worldwide, with the progression of androgen deprivation therapy, become much rely on it, finally, developed into castration-resistant prostate cancer (ADT). In western countries, ranks second in incidence, and in China, with increasing lifespan, the incidence of prostate cancer is rising steadily. Although chemotherapy agents, such as taxane, have achieved some efficacy, treatment failure still occur. As sensitivity of hormone levels change, the disease can progress to castrate-resistant prostate cancer. Because of the poor efficacy of traditional surgery, endocrine therapy, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy, the treatment options for castrate-resistant prostate cancer are limited. Advanced prostate cancer can progress on immunotherapy, and thus, bio -immunotherapy targeting the unique, prostate microenvironment is an important option. In this paper, we systematically revealed the role of three types of bio-immunotherapies (immune checkpoint inhibitors, tumors, vaccines, cytokines) in castrate-resistant prostate cancer, providing a reference for clinical treatment of prostate cancer. Background: Studies suggest that thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) positivity exposure during pregnancy may contribute to changes in placental morphology and pathophysiology. However, little is known about the association of maternal TPOAb during pregnancy with placental morphology and cytokines. This study focuses on the effect of repeated measurements of maternal TPOAb during pregnancy on the placental morphology and cytokines. Methods: Based on Ma'anshan Birth Cohort (MABC) in China, maternal TPOAb levels were retrospectively detected in the first, second and third trimesters. Placental tissues were collected 30 minutes after childbirth, placental morphological indicators were obtained by immediate measurement and formula calculation, and cytokine mRNA expression was detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) afterward. Generalized linear models and linear mixed models were analyzed for the relationships of maternal TPOAb in the first, second and third trimesters with placental indicators. Results: Totally 2274 maternal-fetal pairs were included in the analysis of maternal TPOAb levels and placental morphology, and 2122 pairs were included in that of maternal TPOAb levels and placental cytokines. Maternal TPOAb levels in early pregnancy were negatively associated with placental length, thickness, volume, weight and disc eccentricity, while positively correlated with placental IL-6, TNF-a, CRP, CD68, MCP-1, IL-10, HO-1, HIF-1α and GRP78. In mid-pregnancy, maternal TPOAb levels were negatively correlated with placental length, width and area. In late pregnancy, maternal TPOAb levels were negatively correlated with placental length, area, volume and weight. Repeated measures analysis showed that maternal TPOAb positivity tended to increase placental TNF-a, CD68 and MCP-1 while decreasing placental length, width and area than TPOAb negativity. Repeated measures analysis showed that maternal TPOAb levels were positively correlated with placental IL-6, TNF-α, CD68, MCP-1, IL-10, HO-1, HIF-1α and GRP78, while negatively correlated with placental length, area, volume, weight, and disc eccentricity. Conclusion: There may be trimester-specific associations between maternal TPOAb levels and placental morphology and inflammatory and oxidative stress responses. The effect of maternal TPOAb levels on placental morphology is present throughout pregnancy. Objectives: Diet can influence peripheral leukocyte telomere length (LTL), and various micronutrients have been reported to correlate with it. Zinc is known for its antioxidant properties and immunomodulatory effects. However, there are few epidemiological investigations on the relationship between dietary zinc intake and LTL. This study analyzed the association between dietary zinc and LTL and the potential role of inflammation and oxidative stress among them. Design: Cross-sectional and community-based study. Setting and Participants: 599 participants from rural communities in the Changping suburb of Beijing, China, were recruited. Measurements: Serum lipid profile, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), oxidative stress marker, and inflammatory cytokines levels were measured. Detailed dietary data were obtained using a 24 h food recall. LTL was assessed using a real-time PCR assay. Spearman analysis, restricted cubic splines (RCS), and general linear regression models were used to determine the association between dietary zinc intake and LTL. Simple regulatory models were also applied to analyze the role of inflammation and oxidative stress among them. Results: A total of 482 subjects were ultimately included in this analysis. Spearman analysis showed that dietary zinc intake and zinc intake under energy density were negatively correlated with LTL (r=−0.142 and −0.126, all P <0.05) and positively correlated with tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (r=0.138 and 0.202, all P <0.05) while only dietary zinc without energy adjustment had a positive correlation with superoxide dismutase (SOD). RCS (P for non-linearity=0.933) and multiple linear regression (B=−0.084, P=0.009) indicated a negative linear association between dietary zinc and LTL. The adjustment of TNF-α rather than SOD could abolish the relationship. The mediation model suggested that the unfavorable effect of dietary zinc on LTL was mediated by TNF-α. Conclusions: High dietary zinc may correlate with telomere attrition, and TNF-α can act as a mediator in this relationship. In the future, more extensive cohort studies are needed to further explore the relationship between dietary zinc and cellular aging and the specific mechanisms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: To investigate the association between clinical periodontal parameters of periodontitis, serum lipid metabolism markers and adipokines' levels in patients with obesity and periodontitis. Methods: A total of 112 patients admitted to Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were included in this study. They were divided into normal body weight group (18.5 < body mass index, BMI < 25, n = 36), overweight group (25 ≤ BMI < 30, n = 38), and obesity group (BMI ≥ 30, n = 38) accordingly. The diagnosis of periodontitis was based on the newest international classification of periodontitis. Full-mouth clinical periodontal measurements included: plaque index, periodontal pocket depth, clinical attachment level, and bleeding on probing. Gingival crevicular fluid samples were analyzed for: Interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α, Interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein. Serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and glycosylated hemoglobin levels were measured. Visfatin, leptin, resistin, and adiponectin levels in serum were also measured. Results: The ratio of participants without periodontitis was significantly highest in normal weight group, and the proportion of severe periodontitis (stage III and IV) was highest in obesity group. The periodontal pocket depth, clinical attachment level, and the inflammatory cytokines in gingival crevicular fluid in obesity group and overweight group were higher than those in normal body weight group. The BMI and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) were significantly positive correlated with periodontal pocket depth and clinical attachment level. Using a Multivariate logistic regression model, periodontitis correlates to BMI, WHR, serum levels of triglyceride, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein, and adipokines such as visfatin, leptin, and resistin. Conclusions: Obesity is positively correlated with the aggravation of periodontitis. Obesity may aggravate the damage to periodontal tissue by regulating the secretion level of adipokines. Purpose: The incidence and prevalence of food allergy have sharply risen over the past several decades. Oral administration of probiotic stains has been proven as a safe and effective method to control food allergy. In this study, it aims to comprehensively investigate the anti-allergic effect of Lactobacillus plantarum JC7. Methods: Balb/c mice were randomly divided into three groups and received OVA (20 µg/mouse, intraperitoneal injection), L. plantarum JC7 (2 × 108 CFU/mouse, intragastric administration) + OVA (20 µg/mouse, intraperitoneal injection) or 0.9% saline (intragastric administration) for 3 weeks. Body weight was monitored weekly, and allergic reactions were evaluated after challenge of OVA. Serum levels of OVA-specific immunoglobulins and various cytokines were tested using ELISA, and the cecum microbiota was analysed by 16S rRNA sequencing to explore the relationships between these indicators and OVA-induced food allergy. Western blotting was used to identify the expression levels of phosphorylated IκBα and nuclear factor kappa B p65. Results: OVA-sensitised mice showed mitigation of respiratory manifestations, alleviation of lung inflammation and congestion, and the presence of an intact intestinal villus structure. Furthermore, OVA-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE), OVA-specific-IgG1, and plasma histamine levels were declined in mice treated with L. plantarum JC7 than in OVA-sensitised mice. In addition, interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and interleukin 10 (IL-10) levels were significantly increased, while IL-4 and IL-17A levels were clearly decreased in mice that had undergone oral administration of L. plantarum JC7, compared with OVA-sensitised mice. These findings indicated imbalances of T helper cell type 1 (Th1)/Th2 and regulatory T cells (Treg)/Th17, which were confirmed by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Western blotting demonstrated that the expression levels of phosphorylated IκBα and nuclear factor kappa B p65 were significantly increased in OVA-sensitised mice, but these changes were partly reversed after treatment with L. plantarum JC7. Oral administration of L. plantarum JC7 increased the richness, diversity, and evenness of cecum microbiota, characterised by higher Bacteroidetes abundance and lower Firmicutes abundance. Additionally, the intestinal microbial community composition was significantly altered in the OVA-sensitised group, indicating a disordered intestinal microbiota that was restored by the oral administration of L. plantarum JC7. Conclusion: Overall, L. plantarum JC7 can prevent food allergy by rectifying Th1/Th2 and Treg/Th17 imbalances, combined with modifications of disordered intestinal microbiota. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To evaluate the use of Janus kinase inhibitor (JAKi) in treating JDM and develop cytokine biomarkers of active disease. Methods This study involved a retrospective cohort study that evaluated JAKi in 101 JDM patients as well as a cross-sectional study of cytokines in 128 JDM patients and 30 controls between November 2017 and December 2021 in the Affiliated Children's Hospital of Capital Institute of Pediatrics (China). Results During the median follow-up period of 19 months, 65.5% of the patients had improved rashes, and CAT-BM scores decreased. Overall, 39.6% of JDM patients eliminated glucocorticoids. Muscle strength was improved in all patients who had abnormal muscle strength before JAKi use. Patients and parents provided positive subjective reviews of JAKi, and no serious adverse events were reported. Potential side effects of JAKi included abnormal leukopoenia (14/95) and cough (16/83), which affected over 10% of the JDM patients. In the cytokine analysis, 12/34 cytokines were significantly elevated in active JDM patients. Compared with active JDM patients with multiple phenotypes, active JDM patients with only rashes demonstrated lower cytokine levels. Anti-NXP2-positive active patients had lower cytokine levels compared with those without positive anti-NXP2 antibodies. Among all increased cytokines, IL-1RA changed most dramatically, reaching over 793 times the mean of normal values. We developed a panel composed of six cytokines to differentiate active or stable status in our cohort (area under the curve = 0.8486, P   <  0.05). Conclusion The preliminary evidence suggested that JAKi is a relatively safe and effective alternative for JDM patients. Cytokine profiles could well reflect the inflammatory status of JDM patients. Aging slows down the mechanisms behind skeletal muscle weakening and mobility. Increases in inflammation brought on by aging may contribute to some characteristics of sarcopenia. As a result of population aging worldwide, sarcopenia, an age-related disease, has become a huge burden on both individuals and society as a whole. The study of the morbidity mechanism and available sarcopenia treatments has received more attention. The inflammatory response may be one of the most important methods behind the pathophysiology of sarcopenia in the aged, according to the background of the study. This anti-inflammatory cytokine inhibits the ability of human monocytes and macrophages to induce inflammation as well as the production of cytokines like IL-6. Here, we investigate the association between sarcopenia and interleukin-17 (IL-17), an inflammatory cytokine in the aged. There were 262 subjects aged 61-90 years who were screened for sarcopenia in Hainan General Hospital. The subjects were divided into 45 males and 60 females aged 65-79 years (average age: 72.00 ± 4.31 years). 105 patients without sarcopenia were randomly selected among 157 participants. It included 50 males and 55 females, aged 61-76 years (mean age: 69.10 ± 4.55 years) as per the standard definition of the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS). The "skeletal muscle index" (SMI), "hand grip strength" (HGS), "gait speed" (GS), "biochemical indexes," "serum IL-17 level," nutritional status, and past medical history of the two groups were evaluated and compared. Compared with the participants without sarcopenia, sarcopenia patients had higher average age; less physical exercise; lower total scores of BMI, pre-ALB, IL-17, and SPPB; and a higher proportion of malnutrition risk (all P < 0.05). By "ROC curve analysis," the best critical point was IL-17 in the growth of sarcopenia. The area that comes under ROC (AUROC) value was 0.627 (95% CI = 0.552 , 0.702, P = 0.002). The ideal threshold value for IL-17 to estimate sarcopenia was 18.5 pg/mL. In the unadjusted model, IL-17 was considerably linked to sarcopenia (OR = 1.123 , 95% CI = 1.037 -1.215, P = 0.004). After the covariate adjustment observed in the complete adjustment model (OR = 1.111 , 95% CI = 1.004 -1.229, P = 0.002), this significance still exists. The results of this study suggest a strong relationship between sarcopenia and IL-17. This study will look at IL-17's potential to serve as a key sarcopenia indicator. Background: Acute histoplasmosis is a rare fungal disease in China. This study is aimed to summarize the clinical characteristics of the first large-scale outbreak of imported acute histoplasmosis in Chinese, so as to provide suggestions for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods: We collected the symptoms, signs, laboratory examination and imaging data of 10 patients in so far the biggest outbreak of imported acute histoplasmosis in immunocompetent Chinese. Their clinical characteristics and time-varying cytokine/chemokine levels were analyzed, and rank correlation analysis between these markers was utilized to show their condition. Results: The 10 patients of imported acute histoplasmosis were working without any respiratory protection in an abandoned mine tunnel in Guyana. The most common symptoms were fever and cough. Their chest CT imaging showed multiple nodular shadows in lungs. Laboratory examination showed that at admission the CRP, PCT, LDH, CysC, G-test, β2-MG were all increased in at least 9 patients, and the CD4/CD8 was decreased to < 1 in all patients. Most cytokines/chemokines (other than IL-4, IL-12, INF-α, TNF-α) varied widely with patients and time, but their overall trend is higher at admission and decreasing gradually during hospitalization, especially for the IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and IFN-γ. The LDH, CysC, G-test, β2-MG, N/L, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IFN-γ, IL-27 are in positive associations to both CRP and PCT. Conclusions: The diagnosis of acute histoplasmosis needs a comprehensive analysis of epidemiological history, clinical symptoms and signs, and results of imaging, laboratory, microbiological and pathological examinations. Although none of the CRP, PCT, G-test, N/L, LDH, CysC, β2-MG, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IFN-γ shows specificity in the diagnosis of acute histoplasmosis, there is possibility that the above factors might help in the inflammation and prognosis estimation. Background. Traditional Chinese medicine Smilax is the rhizome of liliaceous plant Smilax china L., which is used to treat pelvic inflammatory disease and anxieties. Purpose. To investigate the mechanism of anti-inflammatory activity of the extract from Smilax china L. (ES). Methods. The components of ES were identified by UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS. The anti-inflammatory activities were evaluated in xylene-induced ear oedema and egg white-induced plantar swelling test. Cell viability was examined by CCK-8 assay. The inflammatory mediators, proinflammatory cytokines, and MAPK and NF-κB signals in LPS-stimulated THP-1 cells were determined using ELISA, real-time PCR, and Western blot, respectively. Results. 20 compounds of ES were confirmed by comparing with the reference substance. ES displayed more prominent anti-inflammatory activity than the positive control "Jin Gang Teng" capsule in the in vivo acute inflammatory model. ES suppressed the expression of PGE2 and 6-Keot-PGF1α, and the ratio of IC50 (COX-1)/IC50 (COX-2) of ES was 3.15, which indicated that ES could selectively inhibit COX-2. ES dose-dependently (12.5, 25, and 50 mg/L) decreased the production and mRNA levels of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. Furthermore, ES significantly decreased LPS-induced phosphorylation of p38, JNK, ERK1/2, and p65, inhibiting the expression of IKKα and the degradation of IκBα. Conclusion. The results suggested that ES could selectively inhibit the activity of COX-2, and the anti-inflammatory effect of ES was associated with the inhibition of IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α via negative regulation of MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways in LPS-induced THP-1 cells. Objective: Patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) respond differently to cytokine-induced killer cell (CIK) treatment. Therefore, potential prognostic markers to identify patients who would benefit from CIK treatment must be elucidated. The current research aimed at identifying predictive prognostic markers for efficient CIK treatment of patients with NSCLC. Methods: Patients histologically diagnosed with NSCLC were enrolled from the Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital. We performed whole-exome sequencing (WES) on the tumor tissues and paired adjacent benign tissues collected from 50 patients with NSCLC, and RNA-seq on tumor tissues of 17 patients with NSCLC before CIK immunotherapy treatment. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression analysis was used to analyze the association between clinical parameters and prognostic relevance. WES and RNA-seq data between lung squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (Aden) were analyzed and compared. Results: The pathology subtype of lung cancer was the most significantly relevant clinical parameter associated with DFS, as analyzed by multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression (P = 0.031). The patients with lung SCC showed better CIK treatment efficacy and extended DFS after CIK treatment. Relatively low expression of HLA class II genes and checkpoint molecules, and less immunosuppressive immune cell infiltration were identified in the patients with lung SCC. Conclusions: Coordinated suppression of the expression of HLA class II genes and checkpoint molecules, as well as less immune suppressive cell infiltration together contributed to the better CIK treatment efficacy in lung SCC than lung Aden. Purpose. Studying the cytokine profiles in influenza A pneumonia could be helpful to better understand the pathogenesis of the disease and predict its prognosis. Patients and Methods. Patients with influenza A pneumonia (including 2009H1N1, H1N1, H3N1, and H7N1) hospitalized in six hospitals from January 2017 to October 2018 were enrolled (ClinicalTrials.gov ID, NCT03093220). Sputum samples were collected within 24 hours after admission and subsequently analyzed for cytokine profiles using a Luminex assay. Results. A total of 35 patients with influenza A pneumonia were included in the study. The levels of IL-6, IFN-γ, and IL-2 were increased in patients with severe influenza A pneumonia (n =10) (P = 0.002 , 0.009, and 0.008, respectively), while those of IL-5, IL-25, IL-17A, and IL-22 were decreased compared to patients with nonsevere pneumonia (P = 0.0001 , 0.009, 0.0001, and 0.006, respectively). The levels of IL-2 and IL-6 in the nonsurvivors (n = 5) were significantly higher than those in the survivors (P = 0.043 and 0.0001, respectively), while the levels of IL-5, IL-17A, and IL-22 were significantly lower (P = 0.001 , 0.012, and 0.043, respectively). The IL-4/IL-17A ratio has the potential to be a good predictor (AUC = 0.94 , P < 0.05 , sensitivity = 88.89 % , specificity = 92.31 %) and an independent risk factor (OR, 95% CI: 3.772, 1.188-11.975; P < 0.05) for intermittent positive pressure ventilation (n = 9).
