The goal of this paper is to explore the issue of promoting unhealthy food and its potential impact on antisocial behavior in contemporary society using methods of structural and functional analysis, quantitative and qualitative analysis, comparative analysis, descriptive methods, and survey methods. Unhealthy food with high-calorie, harmful nutritional ingredients, can cause a myriad of health issues, such as obesity, cardiovascular conditions, and diabetes, but in some instances, it can affect the behavior of individuals. The paper investigates how such promotion can affect individuals' eating patterns and health, with a particular focus on the development of antisocial behaviors. It also considers risk factors, including socioeconomic aspects and the influence of the media, that support the promotion of unhealthy food. This paper also discusses potential strategies to reduce the promotion of unhealthy food and promote healthier choices to mitigate the negative effects on antisocial behavior and enhance societal well-being. Parental control and supervision is considered one of the key factors in raising children. There are numerous studies and researches in the literature that have tried to prove the correlation between parental control and juvenile delinquency. The results of these studies have varied, sometimes confirming and sometimes denying a direct link between parental control and certain forms of juvenile delinquent behavior. However, the modern child and family go through a new socialization process that brings challenges for both children and parents. The goal of our paper is to clarify the terminological confusions present in this area and highlight the actuality of the issue of parental control over the behavior of minors. Through a review of existing domestic and foreign scientific literature, using quantitative and qualitative content analysis, comparative analysis and comparative and historical methods, we want to point out the importance of parental control and supervision in shaping the behavior of minors, with special reference to the manifestation of delinquent patterns. The results of our research indicate a significant correlation between different forms of parental control and supervision with the behavior of minors, with noticeable changes compared to traditional methods of control. The obtained results emphasize the need for educating and advising parents about modern achievements in this area, as well as providing support in adapting to new trends and security challenges, including the impact of information technology, social media and other factors that are now part of everyday life and were not present in the past. The practical importance of our research implies that the theoretical conclusions can be used as a basis for further research in the field of parental control and supervision, as well as juvenile delinquency, with the aim of developing measures for its prevention. The study delves into the expanding role of network platforms in our daily lives, encompassing various mediums like blogs, forums, online chats, and prominent social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. While these platforms offer avenues for self-expression and community support, they concurrently harbor negative impacts, fostering antisocial behaviors like phishing, impersonation, hate speech, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, cyberterrorism, fake news propagation, spamming, and fraud. Notably, individuals also leverage these platforms to connect with authorities and seek aid during disasters. The overarching objective of this research is to address the dual nature of network platforms by proposing innovative methodologies aimed at enhancing their positive aspects and mitigating their negative repercussions. To achieve this, the study introduces a weight learning method grounded in multi-linear attribute ranking. This approach serves to evaluate the significance of attribute combinations across all feature spaces. Additionally, a novel clustering method based on tensors is proposed to elevate the quality of clustering while effectively distinguishing selected features. The methodology incorporates a weighted average similarity matrix and optionally integrates weighted Euclidean distance, contributing to a more nuanced understanding of attribute importance. The analysis of the proposed methods yields significant findings. The weight learning method proves instrumental in discerning the importance of attribute combinations, shedding light on key aspects within feature spaces. Simultaneously, the clustering method based on tensors exhibits improved efficacy in enhancing clustering quality and feature distinction. This not only advances our understanding of attribute importance but also paves the way for more nuanced data analysis methodologies. In conclusion, this research underscores the pivotal role of network platforms in contemporary society, emphasizing their potential for both positive contributions and adverse consequences. Machine learning techniques can be used to identify whether deficits in cognitive functions contribute to antisocial and aggressive behavior. This paper initially presents the results of tests conducted on delinquent and nondelinquent youths to assess their cognitive functions. The dataset extracted from these assessments, consisting of 37 predictor variables and one target, was used to train three algorithms which aim to predict whether the data correspond to those of a young offender or a nonoffending youth. Prior to this, statistical tests were conducted on the data to identify characteristics which exhibited significant differences in order to select the most relevant features and optimize the prediction results. Additionally, other feature selection methods, such as Boruta, RFE, and filter, were applied, and their effects on the accuracy of each of the three machine learning models used (SVM, RF, and KNN) were compared. In total, 80% of the data were utilized for training, while the remaining 20% were used for validation. The best result was achieved by the K-NN model, trained with 19 features selected by the Boruta method, followed by the SVM model, trained with 24 features selected by the filter method. In recent decades, many sectors of our society have been digitized, and much of our life has moved to cyberspace, especially in terms of entertainment. Users meet, relate, and cooperate in the new public space that is the internet and form digital communities. Video games play a leading role in the formation of such communities. However, these communities also present antisocial behaviors, ranging from disruptive actions to harassment and hate speech. Such behaviors, encompassed under the umbrella term toxicity, are a major concern for both users and those in charge of moderating these spaces. This article focuses on toxicity in today's leading online video game League of Legends. Three hundred twenty-eight matches were reviewed using a system of two judges to study the prevalence of these problematic behaviors. We find that 70% of matches were affected by disruptive behavior. Nevertheless, only 10.9% of the analyzed matches were exclusively affected by downright harmful behavior. The object of research and study of this paper is related to the treatment and analysis of issues related to the phenomenon of juvenile delinquency. Juvenile criminality is a complex social phenomenon, the recognition of which requires a more in-depth scientific treatment. Historically, juvenile delinquency has existed since the existence of human society and represents a crucial social problem, which in some countries has conferred less, and in some countries more. The criminality of minors nowadays is a worrying, dangerous and adverse phenomenon, not only for Albanian society but for the whole world society. In general, by juvenile delinquency, we mean all illegal and antisocial behavior of juveniles. Juvenile delinquent behaviors usually begin to appear at the age of puberty, with numerous antisocial behaviors and reactions. It is necessary at this stage to take the necessary measures to deal with these behaviors because we will have a continuous increase in these anti-social behaviors. The increase in juvenile delinquency in a society depends on several factors, such as economic, social, and cultural factors, and so on. Rapid technical and technological development has also influenced the increase in juvenile delinquencies. Criminal justice for minors is a very complicated field, which encompasses not only the issues of minors in conflict with the law, but also all the preventive, protective, and rehabilitative measures that a state must undertake to prevent this phenomenon, namely to minimize the participation of minors in criminality. Therefore, today every state, through various institutions such as schools, families, media, and so forth undertake preventive measures as well as repressive measures to prevent this phenomenon. However, such a process of prevention is complex and yet a necessary process. The criminal legislation of Kosovo has adjusted the issue of juvenile delinquency through the Juvenile Justice Code, which provides special provisions regarding their treatment. Due to the age, and failure to achieve the proper bio-psychological development of minors, this Code foresees mitigating circumstances compared to adults. So the goal of all democratic states is to ensure basic human rights and freedoms. Notably, special care is given to the realization and assuring of the rights of minors, and their protection, since children are considered the essential nucleus of any society. In general, this paper analyzes the basic notions regarding the delinquency of minors, their criminal responsibility, the factors that influence the appearance of this phenomenon, the punishments imposed on them, and the measures for preventing juvenile delinquency. Purpose: Conflict, between individuals and groups, in organizations is a common phenomenon and can have varied implication for the employee and the organization. This paper aims to determine whether experiencing interpersonal conflict drives employees to engage in prosocial behavior (prohibitive voice) and antisocial behavior (interpersonal deviance). Using Stressor–Emotion Model, Uncertainty Management Theory and Impression Management Motives, this study examines the relationship and explores competence uncertainty as a mediator and perception of politics as a moderator. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a cross-sectional design where data collected is from 386 employees working in nine different public sector enterprises in India. Structural equation modeling using SPSS AMOS was used to analyze the hypothesized relationships. Findings: The results show that interpersonal conflict leads to both prohibitive voice behavior and interpersonal deviance. However, the mediating role of competence uncertainty is valid only for the effect of conflict on interpersonal deviance. Also, the perception of politics strengthens the positive relationship between interpersonal conflict and competence uncertainty. Originality/value: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is one of the first empirical studies to have validated prosocial and antisocial work behavior as outcomes of interpersonal conflict. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to systematically review knowledge hiding (KH) behaviors in the team context. KH behavior is regarded as unethical and antisocial behavior, detrimental to team development and performance. The nature of its existence should not be allowed in team activities. Design/methodology/approach: Applying a systematic literature review, this study investigated 39 related quantitative studies on KH behavior of employees in team and group contexts. This study discusses the fundamental concept of KH, analyzes current research findings, identifies relevant gaps in the team and group context and sheds light on future direction. Findings: Findings observed that the KH phenomena had gained the interest of scholars since the year 2010. Five main research streams identified in this systematic review are role of leadership, team creativity and innovation, underlying theory, multilevel modeling and KH scale. Research limitations/implications: The value of this paper is subjected to the specific notion of KH in team background where knowledge sharing should have been promoted instead of KH. This systematic review serves as insight and recognition on the importance of mitigating KH in team. Existing current literature, future research work and trends of KH in the organization may benefit from this new and anticipated behavior within the knowledge management field. The study of dysfunctional personality traits and psychological mechanisms related to antisocial behavior is increasingly gaining importance. In this paper we focus on the so-called Dark Constellation of the personality, analyzing Machiavellian, narcissistic, sadistic and psychopathic traits, and their relationship with moral disengagement mechanisms and with emotional intelligence. We specifically focused on the psychopathic personality to examine which studied variables can explain this personality pattern. Participants were 63 prisoners (44 men and 19 women) from three different prisons in Catalonia, Spain. Overall, correlational results indicate that dark constellation personalities are positively associated with moral disengagement and inversely associated with emotional intelligence. Dehumanization is one of the mechanisms most closely related with dark personalities. The study variables explaining psychopathic personality are the sadistic personality pattern and conversely the socio-cognitive mechanism of diffusion of responsibility and the ability to perceive emotions. Finally, the variables that appear as discriminating in extreme cases of psychopathic personality are the sadistic personality trait, and the mechanisms of dehumanization and advantageous comparisons. This research paper aimed to examine the academic performance of teenagers, the role of schools, and causes of the antisocial behavior. Our relationship between antisocial behavior and the sample consisted of 127 participants from different schools in the USA aged 13–15. A cross-sectional research design was used. We used primary data to conduct our research. The results suggested that there is a negative relation between antisocial behavior and the academic performance of teenagers. However, there was a significant difference between male and female students' academic performance. Male children were involved more in antisocial behavior compared to female students. Therefore, we would like to recommend further research works that need to be done on this topic; teachers should closely monitor the behavior of their teenage students as these are the most vulnerable years in a kid's life. Parents, teachers, and counselors must work together to implement modification strategies to help minimize teenagers' behavioral problems. In this paper the results of a theoretical research on the category of social exclusion are presented, research performed from 2022 to early 2023. From a series of analysis related to the absence of a theoretical base for such category, the purpose was to identify, through document review, which theoretical background this category could be related with. The argument in this paper is that structural functionalism is an alternative for theoretical ground, because with Robert Merton was found that social exclusion is a problem addressed in his theory through the concept of anomie in his sociology of deviation. Narcissistic personality disorder is characterized by self-absorption, grandiosity, exploitation of others and lack of empathy. People with that disorder may switch from an overt form, mainly with grandiosity, to a covert presentation, with fears, hypersensitivity and dependence from others. Empathy represents a key point in detecting people affected by narcissistic personality disorder because, even if it is described as reduced, it plays a fundamental role in exploitation and manipulation. A systematic search of Literature without any language or time restriction, was performed combining thesaurus and free-search indexing terms related to Narcissistic personality disorder and empathy and produced 531 results. Fifty-two papers that analyzed possible issues in the empathic attitude of people with narcissistic personality disorder were included in this narrative review. Empathy is the capability of understating and feeling others emotions. It is not a unitary construct and can be distinguished in cognitive and affective. It might be channeled into prosocial and antisocial behaviors. A crucial trait identified in narcissistic empathy is affective dissonance that is closely related to rivalry as part of the dark tetrad (narcissism, machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism). Subjects affected by narcissistic personality disorder show greater impairment in affective aspects while their cognitive part of empathy appears preserved. Saving at least the cognitive aspects of empathy may contribute to therapeutic improvement of affective aspects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Interventions that combine cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with unconditional cash transfers (UCT) reduce the risk of antisocial behavior (ASB), but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. In this paper, we test the role of psychological and cognitive mechanisms in explaining this effect. We assessed the mediating role of executive function, self-control, and time preferences. Methods: We used data from the Sustainable Transformation of Youth in Liberia, a community-based randomized controlled trial of criminally engaged men. The men were randomized into: Group-1: control (n = 237); and Group-2: CBT+UCT (n = 207). ASB was measured 12–13 months after the interventions were completed, and the following mediators were assessed 2–5 weeks later: (i) self-control, (ii) time preferences and (iii) executive functions. We estimated the natural direct effect (NDE) and the natural indirect effect (NIE) of the intervention over ASB. Results: Self-control, time preferences and a weighted index of all three mediators were associated with ASB scores, but the intervention influenced time preferences only [B = 0.09 95%CI (0.03; 0.15)]. There was no evidence that the effect of the intervention on ASB was mediated by self-control [BNIE = 0.007 95%CI (-0.01; 0.02)], time preferences [BNIE = -0.02 95%CI (-0.05; 0.01)], executive functions [BNIE = 0.002 95%CI (-0.002; 0.006)] or the weighted index of the mediators [BNIE = -0.0005 95%CI (-0.03; 0.02)]. Conclusions: UCT and CBT lead to improvements in ASB, even in the absence of mediation via psychological and cognitive functions. Background: Sport can impact the protection of the environment and energy. Sports activities could gather people in one place, which may negatively affect the environment, such as noise pollution, antisocial behaviors, waste, air pollution, and sharp lighting. Objectives: This paper aims to investigate the role of sport in sustainable environmental development. This applied-developmental study utilized an exploratory qualitative method to collect data. Methods: The statistical population included all top managers of sports organizations (including the National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Sports, and all sports federations), specialists and experts in sport management in Iran, and some managers of the Iranian Department of Environment. Thirteen experts were selected using the purposive sampling method and snowballing technique. The semi-structured interview was used as a data collection tool. Data analysis was done with grounded theory through open, axial, and selective coding. Results: The results indicated that the pattern of sustainable environmental development based on the sport consists of 211 concepts and 26 subcategories. Categories 4, 4, 5, 8, and 4 were related to the causal factors, the fields, and domains, mediating variables, strategies, and consequences, respectively, and one category was also considered an axial phenomenon. Adequacy measure of the research process and quality of data and interpretations was approved based on credibility, transferability, dependability, confirmability, honesty, and data-derived theory criteria, including conformity, comprehensiveness, generality, and controllability. Conclusions: According to the results from the model, the sustainable environmental development based on the sport is affected by foresight, environmental values of sport, environmental requirements of the sport, green sports movement, educational and research factors, communication and promotional elements, economics, structural factors, and organizational factors, which can lead to green productivity in sports and the quality of life and well-being of citizens. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to systematically review knowledge hiding (KH) behavior in higher education institutions (HEIs). KH is regarded as an unethical and antisocial behavior by many scholars, which should not be prevalent in HEIs. Design/methodology/approach: A two-phase analysis through quantitative scientometric analysis and qualitative systematic literature review method through the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) model was applied. In phase 1,174 articles were analyzed using the VOSviewer through co-word and co-citation analyses. In Phase 2, 20 related studies on KH in HEIs were qualitatively analyzed on the fundamental concept of KH. The main themes were determined based on current research findings, through the identification of relevant gaps in the context of higher education. Findings: In Phase 1, co-word and co-citation analyses resulted in six and three clusters, respectively. Subsequently, in Phase 2, five themes were discovered: terminology of KH, scale of KH, cultural and geographical context, KH among academics and students and relevant theories. Further, discussion on the institutional factors of individuals, organizations, technology and culture is presented. Practical implications: This review lays out a practical guide to facilitate HEIs in managing KH behavior among academics, employees, and students. Strategies can be planned and implemented to foster and inculcate knowledge sharing behavior to circulate knowledge while at the same time diminishing KH behavior in HEIs. This paper aims to determine the relationship features between preschool educators' job satisfaction and professional burnout. The research sample included 90 persons (average age 25.5, the sample is homogeneous). Following techniques were used as research instruments: "Diagnostics of communicative social competence" (N.P. Fetiskin, V.V. Kozlov, G.M. Manuilov), "Coping strategies inventory" by R. Lazarus, "Maslach Burnout Inventory Education Survey", "Workaholism" Inventory (E.P. Ilyin), "The Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale" (P.L. Hewitt, G.L. Flett), "Job Satisfaction Survey", "Evaluation of Personality's Satisfaction with Work". Descriptive, Spearman's Rank correlation analysis, One-way analysis of variance were applied. Job satisfaction and its components have a large number of correlations with professional burnout. There are main negative correlations between professional burnout and job satisfaction, interest in work, relationship satisfaction, achievement satisfaction, professional responsibility, other-oriented professionalism, and specific characteristics of communicative and social competence. The main positive correlations can be seen between burnout and independence, propensity for antisocial behavior, confrontational coping, distancing coping, seeking social support. Low values on the scales of emotional burnout, reduction of professional achievements, the inclination for antisocial behavior, and high levels of self-centered perfectionism and amiability are peculiar features of preschool teachers with job satisfaction. The empirical data analysis indicated an inverse relationship between the professional burnout of preschool teachers and their job satisfaction. Based on the data analysis, we can state that one's passion for work is an agent that can counteract professional burnout, and thus it cannot be seen just as its' opposite. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The work presented in this paper focuses on the use of data augmentation techniques applied in the domain of the detection of antisocial behavior. Data augmentation is a frequently used approach to overcome issues related to the lack of data or problems related to imbalanced classes. Such techniques are used to generate artificial data samples used to improve the volume of the training set or to balance the target distribution. In the antisocial behavior detection domain, we frequently face both issues, the lack of quality labeled data as well as class imbalance. As the majority of the data in this domain is textual, we must consider augmentation methods suitable for NLP tasks. Easy data augmentation (EDA) represents a group of such methods utilizing simple text transformations to create the new, artificial samples. Our main motivation is to explore EDA techniques' usability on the selected tasks from the antisocial behavior detection domain. We focus on the class imbalance problem and apply EDA techniques to two problems: fake news and toxic comments classification. In both cases, we train the convolutional neural networks classifier and compare its performance on the original and EDA-extended datasets. EDA techniques prove to be very task-dependent, with certain limitations resulting from the data they are applied on. The model's performance on the extended toxic comments dataset did improve only marginally, gaining only 0.01 improvement in the F1 metric when applying only a subset of EDA methods. EDA techniques in this case were not suitable enough to handle texts written in more informal language. On the other hand, on the fake news dataset, the performance was improved more significantly, boosting the F1 score by 0.1. Objective: Losing participants' self-report data affects process and outcome analyses, and ultimately, conclusions about results. In this paper, we examine predictors of loss to self-report data collection and attempt to identify potential predictors that can be addressed prospectively. Methods: Data were from a study to increase colorectal and breast cancer screening in women 50-75 years of age (N = 1196). We collected self-report data at baseline (T1), 4 weeks (T2), and 6 months (T3) after consent. Analyses identified predictors of earliest loss (T1 vs T1, T2, T3), intermediate loss (T1 vs T1, T2), and later loss (T1, T2 vs T1, T2, T3). Results: Cancer knowledge and self-reported screening barriers were associated with loss to follow-up. More health problems were associated with less intermediate loss to follow-up, but higher loss to later follow-up. Two intervention groups (Web Only, and Web + Phone) showed greater loss compared to Usual Care. Being overdue for both screenings predicted early loss. Completing the T1 survey by phone was associated with greater loss to follow-up. Conclusions: Knowledge and barriers may have had an early effect, whereas health problems might have had a delayed impact. Early years practitioners are central to UK government policy in alleviating poverty in early childhood. The significant level and rise in child poverty rates suggest that their role is becoming increasingly important in supporting families on low incomes. Paradoxically, cuts to children's services under austerity policies and the low pay and status associated with working in early years sector means that many practitioners are likely to be vulnerable to poverty themselves. However, government policy has failed to recognise that practitioners who are charged with supporting families in poverty may at the same time be experiencing in-work poverty. Drawing on a narrative study with 38 early years practitioners in the south-east of England this paper addresses how practitioners' personal and professional lives shape their understandings of poverty. Findings suggest that practitioners' personal experiences of childhood, motherhood and personal poverty play a part in shaping their understandings of poverty and to what extent they are able to recognise and empathise with others. It is recommended that how practitioners are positioned and how they position others within discourses of poverty needs to be addressed if practitioners are to effectively support families on low incomes. Many studies about antisocial behaviour (ASB) in the school environment are based on a single conceptual and theoretical framework, producing partial results that limit our understanding of the problem. Using a more inclusive approach, this paper uses survey data from the educational system in Mexico to explore the relationship between the forms of capital introduced by Bourdieu (1986), their associated inequalities, and the perception of ASB of students of secondary schools. The results show that social capital was the only form of capital with a consistent effect across all types of schools and localities. Economic and cultural capital and their associated inequalities were linked to the perception of ASB but only amongst students of some types of schools and localities. It is concluded that further analyses must take into account various aspects at the individual and school level, but particularly understand the unique characteristics of different environments. Classroom activities should be planned in such a way that every learner's needs are provided for and every learner is guided towards achieving his maximum potential. Failure to do so may lead some learners into delinquent behaviors and some may even drop out. Classroom activities seem to be planned with the average learners and the learning disadvantaged in mind. Most times learning facilitators do not factor in the needs of gifted children when planning classroom activities. It is believed that 6% of students in the public school are gifted. This percentage of students have the capacity to impact positively on national development if their gifts are identified and maximized. However, this seems not to be the case. Only the gifted students who find their way into specialized gifted schools have the privilege of having their gifts developed. The program for selection of students into gifted programs seems to be flawed in climes where statistics exist. To the extent that minority groups and low-income groups seem to be discriminated from assessing gifted programs. The researcher's position regarding this situation is that every school prepares for the gifted child as well while selecting and designing learning experiences. That every classroom facilitator be equipped to identify and to cater the needs of the gifted child within the normal inclusive classroom in order that no child's gift is ignored. Teacher's training programs should include training for identification and catering for gifted children. This will also reduce the rate of delinquency and school drop out that results from boredom of gifted children who are under-challenged and contribute to national development. Researchers and mental health professionals have paid growing attention to identify risk factors contributing to the prediction, assessment, and treatment of behaviorally at-risk youth. Among the well-established psychological factors associated with the development and persistence of antisocial behavior during adolescence, the role of psychopathy as well as moral cognitive processes has been emphasized over decades. In this paper, the link between psychopathic traits, self-serving cognitive distortions and antisocial behaviors during adolescence has been examined through a review of the literature focused on empirical studies. Furthermore, starting from the studies on the treatment of psychopathy, which highlighted how the longstanding "Nothing Works" doctrine has been overtaken by the more recent "What Works" approach to offender treatment, we tried to point out some treatment implications for preventing and counteracting antisocial behaviors among psychopathic youth. In this regard, guided by previous research that recognized the self-serving cognitive distortions as cognitive expression of psychopathic traits, we suggested the need to early identify youth's self-serving cognitive distortions and the potential benefits of focusing on cognitive restructuring processes, especially for those individuals with high levels of psychopathic personality traits. After overcoming the rooted view of psychopathy as untreatable condition, we concluded this paper by providing some relevant suggestions, both for juvenile justice systems and clinical settings, in the field of prevention and treatment, to break the psychopathy-violence link during adolescence and adulthood effectively. Purpose: This paper presents a nationwide solution based on diversion for the increasing propensity of youth in school with behavioral problems becoming involved in the justice system. Design: The design was structured by the professor’s subheadings: student’s personal experience, research, valid resources, application to proposed solution, actual evidence-based solution, alternative solutions not chosen, assumptions, barriers, feasibility of solution, and social reaction to change over time. Findings: The solution iss based on extensive examination of many state and community programs and reports. Instead of formal processing by school officials or police officers, this solution describes a wraparound model—the informal processing of youth by many stakeholders, including school administrators, police officers, community leaders, and parents. Students with antisocial behavior could avoid referral to the formal justice system, avoiding often inhumane treatment. Research limitations/implications: Limitations include the lack of commonality of individual states’ regulations, ratification in the legislative process, and nonparticipation of elected prosecutors for political gains. Practical implications: With multiagency collaboration, deviant youth with behavioral problems can be directed to needed services, such as substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, teaching of life skills, mentoring, and family-parental education. Social implications: This solution could save many youths from the traumas of the prison system and recidivism and increase their possibilities of success in later life. This paper investigates whether there is a connection between psychopathy and certain manifestations of social and economic behavior, measured in a lab-in-the-field experiment with prison inmates. In order to test this main hypothesis, we let inmates play four games that have often been used to measure prosocial and antisocial behavior in previous experimental economics literature. Specifically, they play a prisoner's dilemma, a trust game, the equality equivalence test that elicits distributional preferences, and a corruption game. Psychopathy is measured by means of the Levenson Self-Report Psychopathy Scale (LSRP) questionnaire, which inmates filled out after having made their decisions in the four games. We find that higher scores in the LSRP are significantly correlated with anti-social behavior in the form of weaker reciprocity, lower cooperation, lower benevolence and more bribe-oriented decisions in the corruption game. In particular, not cooperating and bribe-maximizing decisions are associated with significantly higher LSRP primary and LSRP secondary scores. Disruptive behavior disorders (DBDs) are among the primary reasons for child and youth referrals to mental health services and are linked to poor adult outcomes including antisocial behavior disorder. Research indicates a high incidence of internalizing problems in those with DBDs and those who have DBDs with cooccurring internalizing problems may have more severe later outcomes. Interventions targeted at internalizing symptoms have been found to also reduce comorbid externalizing problems. The impact of treatments for DBDs on comorbid internalizing disorders is not known. Databases PsycINFO, EMBASE and MEDLINE were systematically searched based on the Cochrane guidelines for systematic reviews. Records were independently reviewed by two reviewers. 12 papers were deemed eligible. A quality assessment of the selected studies was conducted independently by both reviewers. The 12 studies included 1334 young people with a mean age of 5 years. The parent training interventions assessed were the Incredible Years (6/12 studies), Triple-P (5/12) and Tuning In To Kids (1/12). 11 of the 12 studies reported significant reductions in primary externalizing behavior problems and DBDs. 7 studies reported significant reductions in internalizing symptoms. Antisocial behavior (ASB) is one of the ten personality disorders included in ‘The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) and falls in the same cluster as Borderline Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, and Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It is a prevalent pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others. Online antisocial behavior is a social problem and a public health threat. An act of ASB might be fun for a perpetrator; however, it can drive a victim into depression, self-confinement, low self-esteem, anxiety, anger, and suicidal ideation. Online platforms such as Twitter and Reddit can sometimes become breeding grounds for such behavior by allowing people suffering from ASB disorder to manifest their behavior online freely. In this paper, we propose a proactive approach based on natural language processing and deep learning that can enable online platforms to actively look for the signs of antisocial behavior and intervene before it gets out of control. Psychopathy has been an important topic of study in psychology and increasingly in criminology. The adverse, antisocial behavior of psychopaths has been studied for quite some time, yet there remains less work on how psychopaths may (or may not) succeed in other life domains, including in particular employment. On this score, the literature provides competing hypotheses with respect to whether psychopaths will excel in the workplace – especially in high-level managerial positions. This paper uses data from the Cambridge Study in Delinquent Development to examine how psychopathy is related to white-collar employment, how the interaction of psychopathy and white-collar jobs is related to life success of failure in late middle adulthood, and the extent to which groups that were formed from combinations of psychopathy and white-collar employment differed as children on individual and environmental risk factors. Results provide support for the more classic view of psychopathy, since psychopaths are unlikely to be in managerial positions, evince worse childhood risk, and incur a significant amount of adult life failure. The Good Lives Model (GLM) is a framework of rehabilitation when working with individuals who have committed criminal offenses. However, its core assumptions (i.e. that the 'good life' is comprised of various universal primary human goods) have not been tested, and there is no standardized measure of these concepts. We used a large community sample (N = 1,309) to develop a measure of primary human goods. Our 100-item draft Good Lives Questionnaire (GLQ) was reduced to 35 items via exploratory principal components analysis (n = 900), with its five-factor structure supported by confirmatory factor analysis (n = 409). This structure runs counter to the existing scholarship related to the GLM, which proposes eleven primary human goods. We found each of our factors – 'Inner Peace', 'Energy and Agency', 'Social Connectedness', 'Varied Leisure Activities', and 'Spirituality' – to be differentially associated with measures of self-reported aggression, criminality, and delinquency, supporting its validity as a measure of crime- and delinquency-related constructs. They were also associated with measures of psychological wellbeing, personal agency, social connectedness, and personality. Background: The violent behavior of football fans is constantly associated with their drinking habits. Aiming to reduce its impact, policy makers often ban the sales and consumption of alcohol beverages during matches. Nonetheless, there are few papers that empirically analyzed such relationship, and our paper aims to shed light on this question. Methods: Out dataset comprises 4,560 matches from the first and second tiers of the Brazilian League, where 245 exhibited at least one antisocial behavior from fans. Ordered logistic regressions are used as method. Results: Our empirical findings evidence that the sales of alcoholic drinks do increase the likelihood of severe antisocial behavior. We also observed a higher likelihood of violent cases when the home club loses its match as well as during crowded matches. Conclusions: We conclude that the change in the alcohol police in Brazil did show a significant association with the likelihood of antisocial behavior among football fans. However, since the magnitude of such effect is small, further research is needed to examine the potential benefits of this policy change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The study aimed to establish the challenges of the distant parented adolescent girls in the Chiredzi South Constituency of Zimbabwe. The phenomenon focused on the challenges that distant-parented adolescent girls go through in the absence of migrant parents. The bio-ecological systems theory underpinned the study to bring to the fore the role of different environmental systems surrounding a distant parented adolescent in her development. Qualitative methods of data collection, analysis, and interpretation were used. The study employed a purposive sampling approach to select the twenty-five (25) distant parented adolescent girls participating in the focus group discussions and interviews from five secondary schools. Data were collected and recorded. A thematic analysis was used. Some of the findings were that the distant-parented adolescent girl lacks parental care and support, lackss access to remittances and delayed remittances, wrong choice of friends, poor relationships between them and the migrant parents, and barriers to learning. Based on the findings, the study recommends distant parenting parents should continue to fulfill their roles as parents to their left-behind adolescent girls. Parents should also know their foreign parented adolescent girls' friends as some friends may influence them into engaging in anti-social behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Relative to the general population, adolescents with psychiatric disorders such as major depression disorder are incarcerated (and reincarcerated) at higher rates. Current research is mixed on whether this association is a cause, consequence, or the product of selection. For example, aggression can lead to more depressive symptoms, yet depression is associated with antisocial behaviors (e.g., delinquency). To better understand the relationship between depression and delinquent behavior, we used the discordant kinship model to examine data from sibling pairs in the National Longitudinal Surveys of Youth 1979, a nationally representative study. By explicitly modeling within- and betweenfamily variance, we reduced the influence of genetic and shared-environmental confounds on our analysis. Background: The field of psychology has classified negative and antisocial behaviors in humans under the term "Dark Tetrad," which includes Machiavellianism, Narcissism, Psychopathy, and Sadism. Numerous studies have provided evidence of a significant association between the Dark Tetrad traits and both human maltreatment and violent behaviors. Among these violent behaviors, animal abuse is a prevalent form that has been shown to predict other types of abuse. The present study aims to investigate the connection between the Dark Tetrad traits and animal abuse, while also examining the potential moderating effect of gender. Method: A total of 243 participants, consisting of 106 men (43.6%) and 137 women (56.4%) and ranging in age from 18 to 55, Greeks living in Greece, were recruited for this study. Data collection was conducted online, where participants provided their demographic information and completed two scales: the Dark Tetrad scale and the animal abuse scale. Results: The findings of the study revealed a significant association between all Dark Tetrad traits and animal abuse, which supports previous research. Furthermore, the analysis showcased a moderating influence of gender, whereby the three Dark Tetrad traits (Narcissism, Psychopathy, Sadism) exhibited a stronger predictive effect on animal abuse for men compared to women. Conclusion: The study concludes that all Dark Tetrad traits can predict animal abuse, especially in men, except Machiavellianism, which does not show significant gender differences. Future research should consider controlling the confounding effects of domestic violence and investigate the indirect impact of the Dark Tetrad traits on such behaviors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: With the introduction of the new psychiatric diagnostic manuals, personality functioning has gained new prominence. Several studies have reported consistent findings that individual showing high levels of antisocial features are associated with alterations in interpersonal functioning domains such as empathy and mentalisation. The focus of the current study (N = 198) is to examine antisocial cognitions, as measured by the Scrambled Sentences Task (SST), and to what extent this approach can help to better understand the relationship between antisocial traits and personality functioning/empathy. Method: We implemented a hypothesis-driven approach using logistic regression and a data-driven approach using machine learning to examine distinct but related measures of personality functioning as predictors of antisocial cognitions. Results: Antisocial cognitions were associated with low interpersonal functioning as expected, but only when not adjusting for antisocial traits, which accounted for almost all the association. The data-driven analysis revealed that individual items assessing empathic concern in personality functioning scales (as opposed to the whole scores) explained low antisocial cognitions even when adjusting for antisocial traits. Discussion: Antisocial cognitions appear to be associated to two distinct traits, the antisocial and a specific type of personality functioning. This study investigates the complex relationships between parental attitudes, teacher attitudes, and self-control and their associations with prosocial and antisocial behaviour among adolescents in Bali, Indonesia. The research utilises a correlational research design with structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis to examine the relationships among variables comprehensively. A sample of 260 high school students aged 14 to 16 in Bali, Indonesia, was selected using a multi-stage cluster random sampling technique with 104 male and 156 female. The standard deviation of age is 0.49. Data were collected using adapted instruments to measure prosocial behaviour, antisocial behaviour, parents' attitudes, teachers' attitudes, and self-control. The study found positive correlations between parental attitudes, teacher attitudes, self-control, and prosocial behaviour and negative correlations with antisocial behaviour. The SEM analysis produced a predictive model for adolescent prosocial and antisocial behaviour, demonstrating strong compatibility with the model. The results indicated that parents' attitudes, teachers' attitudes, and self-control contributed significantly to prosocial behaviour among adolescents. However, while teachers' attitudes and self-control were significantly related to antisocial behaviour, no significant relationship was found between parents' attitudes and antisocial behaviour. The findings provide valuable insights into the role of parent-child relationships and highlight the potential for fostering positive behavioural outcomes. The study's contribution lies in its focus on multiple dimensions of relationships and its exploration of the impact of parental difficulties. Recent studies have consistently demonstrated that antisocial behaviors occur in online environments. Although online antisocial behavior has a long history, it appears to have become more widespread in recent years due to the widespread use of online social networks. Although there are established criteria and instruments assessing antisocial behavior there are few examining such behavior online. Therefore, the present study aimed to develop the Online Antisocial Personality Scale (OAPS). The OAPS was developed using the diagnostic criteria for antisocial personality disorder in DSM-5. The OAPS assesses antisocial behavior in online environments. The present study comprised 447 adolescents (219 girls and 228 boys) from four different samples. The measures used included the Online Antisocial Personality Scale (OAPS), E-Bullyıng Scale (E-BS), and Personality Belief Questionnaire-Short Form (PBQ-STF). The structural validity of OAPS was investigated with exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and criterion validity. When validity and reliability analysis of the OAPS are considered as a whole, it is concluded that the OAPS is a valid and reliable scale that assesses online antisocial personality among adolescents. Objectives: Past research has investigated factors that condition the association between self-control and antisocial behavior. Absent from consideration has been the possible moderating effect of alcohol intoxication. Methods: Using a placebo-controlled experimental design, we explore whether alcohol intoxication moderates the association between self-control and two vignette-based measures of reactive aggression. Results: Self-control is negatively associated with reactive aggression among sober participants, but the association is no different from zero among participants assigned to intoxicated and placebo conditions. For the vignette revealing stronger evidence of a moderating effect of alcohol intoxication, the negative effect of self-control on reactive aggression becomes non-significant starting at a breath alcohol concentration that amounts to approximately one alcoholic beverage. Conclusions: This study provides initial evidence that alcohol intoxication diminishes the association between self-control and reactive aggression, adding to existing research focused on factors that condition the association between self-control and antisocial behavior. The last few years have witnessed an increase in democratic "backsliding" in the United States—a decline in the quality of democracy, typically accompanied by an influx of non-normative behavior, such as political violence. Despite the real consequences of support for violence, fairly little is known about such an extremist attitude outside studies of terrorism or aggression. Using a unique survey containing many psychological, political, and social characteristics, we find that perceived victimhood, authoritarianism, populism, and white identity are the most powerful predictors of support for violence, though military service, conspiratorial thinking, anxiety, and feelings of powerlessness are also related. These patterns suggest that subjective feelings about being unjustly victimized—irrespective of the truth of the matter—and the psychological baggage that accompanies such feelings lie at the heart of support for violence. We use these results to build a profile of characteristics that explain support for violence; the predictive validity of this profile is then tested by examining its relationship with support for the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot, with which it is strongly associated, even accounting for support for Donald Trump. Our findings have implications for the detection of extremist attitudes and our understanding of the non-partisan/ideological foundations of anti-social political behavior. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Older persons face an array of challenges with regard to parenting a delinquent grandchild. The study adopted a qualitative approach with the use of an explorative and descriptive design, with data collected from in-depth interviews with grandparents, communities and probation officers. The study also adopted phenomenology as the specific research approach. Findings revealed that grandparents parenting their grandchildren face the pernicious experiences of grandchildren's delinquency; financial challenges and poverty; and deterioration of their health and social life. This paper recommends that the government prioritise the grandparents' vulnerability to address the delinquency of their grandchildren and ensure that they are freed from such a pernicious preoccupation. Policies should be developed to ensure that grandparents above the age of 60 years should not assume full custody of children, as they are also a vulnerable population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
