Companies adopt various HRM practices to enhance employees' abilities, motivations, and opportunities to foster innovation. Are these practices universally effective or culturally contingent? In this study, we draw on the Ability‐Motivation‐Opportunity (AMO) model and examine the effectiveness of three representative practices using a dataset of 304 companies from 13 countries or regions. We find that HRM practices need to fit in a supplementary/complementary way with national cultures to facilitate firm innovation: 1. cross‐functional training (i.e., an ability‐enhancing practice) is more effective in collectivistic rather than individualistic cultures (supplementary fit); 2. financial rewards for innovation (i.e., a motivation‐enhancing practice) are more effective in masculine rather than feminine cultures (supplementary fit); and 3. employee participation (i.e., an opportunity‐enhancing practice) is more effective in high rather than low power distance cultures (complementary fit). By building on the notion of supplementary/complementary fit, these findings extend our knowledge of the AMO model in the context of HRM and innovation management with a cultural contingency perspective. Purpose: The Chinese Healthy Eating Index (CHEI) is a valid instrument to assess the diet quality of the Chinese population, but evidence regarding the relationship between CHEI and the risk of diabetes remains limited. We aimed to investigate the prospective association of CHEI with diabetes among Chinese adults. Methods: 1563 adults free of diabetes at baseline and with at least two survey data from 1997 to 2018 were included. Dietary information was collected by three consecutive 24-h recalls combined with household food inventory, and long-term diet quality was evaluated by the CHEI. Diabetes was defined as self-reported physician-diagnosed diabetes and/or fasting blood glucose ≥ 7.0 mmol/L, and/or HbA1c ≥ 6.5%. Cox proportional hazard models and restricted cubic spline analysis were used to estimate the associations between CHEI and diabetes. Results: During a median follow-up of 12.0 years, 192 (10.3%) participants developed new-onset diabetes. Generally, a five-point higher CHEI score was significantly associated with a 17% lower risk of diabetes (HR, 0.83; 95%CI 0.71–0.97). In stratified analysis, inverse associations between CHEI and diabetes were more vigorous in females (HR, 0.68; 95%CI 0.54–0.85) than in males (P for interaction = 0.01). In addition, there was an L-shaped association between CHEI and diabetes risk in the whole population (P for non-linearity = 0.026), while no significant non-linear association was observed in females or males, respectively. Conclusion: Our results suggested that a long-term higher-quality diet evaluated by CHEI was significantly associated with lower risks of diabetes, and the favorable associations were more pronounced among females. Objectives: General practitioners are trained to care for patients with a high level of responsibility and professional competency. However, there are few reports on the physical and mental health status of general practitioners (GPs) in China, particularly regarding help seeking and self-treatment. The primary aims of this study were to explore GPs' expectations of their own family doctors and their reflection on role positioning, and to explore the objective factors that hinder the system of family doctors. Study design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: We conducted an online survey of Chinese GPs. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the findings. Results: More than half of the participants (57.20%) reported that their health was normal over the past year. A total of 420 participants (23.35%) reported having chronic diseases. For sleep duration, 1205 participants (66.98%) reported sleeping 6–8 h per day; 473 participants (26.29%) reported chronic insomnia. Two hundred thirty-one participants (12.84%) had possible depression. A total of 595 (33.07%) participants reported that they had contracted a fixed family doctor. In terms of preventing themselves from contracting for a family doctor, the following factors were identified: lack of sufficient time (54.81%), could solve obstacles themselves (50.97%), and embarrassment (24.24%). The proportion of the contract group (12.44%) taking personal relationship as a consideration was higher than that of the non-contract group (7.64%) (χ2 = 10.934 P = 0.01). Most participants (79.90%) in the non-signed group reported never having seen a family doctor. In terms of obstacles, more than half of the signed group thought that they could solve obstacles themselves, while the non-signed group (39.20%) was less confident in the ability of family doctors than the signed group (29.75%) (χ2 = 15.436, P < 0.01). Conclusions: GPs work under great pressure and lack of self-care awareness, resulting in an increased prevalence of health conditions. Most GPs did not have a regular family doctor. Having a family doctor with a fixed contract is more conducive to the scientific management of their health and provides a reasonable solution to health problems. The main factors hindering GPs from choosing a family doctor were time consumption, abilities to solve obstacles themselves, and trust in the abilities of GPs. Therefore, simplifying the process of family doctor visits, Changing the GPs' medical cognition, and strengthening the policy of GP training would be conducive to promoting a family doctor system that enhances hierarchical diagnosis and treatment. Background and Objectives: Patient satisfaction surveys are implemented as an essential quality improvement tool in healthcare markets. This study investigates patient satisfaction in public secondary and tertiary hospitals and identifies factors contributing to inpatient satisfaction, particularly trust-related factors, to eventually improve the quality of care in the healthcare system. Methods: A population-based cross-sectional survey was conducted between February and April 2021 in 31 Chinese provinces. Telephone interviews with computer assistance were used to gather data. Spearman Rank Correlation was used to analyze satisfaction with hospitalization services between secondary and tertiary hospitals. Multiple Linear Regression was used to determine the influencing factors of overall patient satisfaction. Results: Inpatients reported more satisfaction with inpatient care when doctors treated them respectfully (p < 0.01). Inpatients with higher self-identified social class reported higher satisfaction (p < 0.01). Inpatients who trust in most people in society (p < 0.01) and trust in the Chinese healthcare system (p < 0.01) reported higher satisfaction. Female inpatients reported higher overall satisfaction (p < 0.01). Conclusions: The study of Chinese inpatients in secondary and tertiary hospitals highlighted the importance of respect from doctors, their self-identified social class, and their trust in influencing satisfaction during their hospital stay and called for additional research into policy measures. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate challenges in speech-in-noise (SiN) processing faced by school-age children with autism spectrum conditions (ASCs) and their impact on listening effort. Method: Participants, including 23 Mandarin-speaking children with ASCs and 19 age-matched neurotypical (NT) peers, underwent sentence recognition tests in both quiet and noisy conditions, with a speech-shaped steady-state noise masker presented at 0-dB signal-to-noise ratio in the noisy condition. Recognition accuracy rates and task-evoked pupil responses were compared to assess behavioral performance and listening effort during auditory tasks. Results: No main effect of group was found on accuracy rates. Instead, significant effects emerged for autistic trait scores, listening conditions, and their interaction, indicating that higher trait scores were associated with poorer performance in noise. Pupillometric data revealed significantly larger and earlier peak dilations, along with more varied pupillary dynamics in the ASC group relative to the NT group, especially under noisy conditions. Importantly, the ASC group’s peak dilation in quiet mirrored that of the NT group in noise. However, the ASC group consistently exhibited reduced mean dilations than the NT group. Conclusions: Pupillary responses suggest a different resource allocation pattern in ASCs: An initial sharper and larger dilation may signal an intense, narrowed resource allocation, likely linked to heightened arousal, engagement, and cognitive load, whereas a subsequent faster tail-off may indicate a greater decrease in resource availability and engagement, or a quicker release of arousal and cognitive load. The presence of noise further accentuates this pattern. This highlights the unique SiN processing challenges children with ASCs may face, underscoring the importance of a nuanced, individual-centric approach for interventions and support. Parent-child separation due to internal migration is prevalent in China. However, few studies have focused on the associations between different characteristics of parent-child separation and children's involvement in bullying. We conducted a cross-sectional study among 2,355 fifth-to eighth-grade students in China, using self-reported questionnaires to investigate the associations between children's bullying involvement (i.e., bullies, victims, bully-victims) and different characteristics of parent-child separation resulting from parental migration. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to explore these associations. Among all respondents, 17.3% reported being victims of bullying, 3.8% reported being bullies, and 2.7% reported being bully-victims. Compared to children with no left-behind experiences, those with current left-behind experiences were more likely to be victims and bully-victims. Children left behind by parent(s) at the age of three years or younger were more likely to be victims (aOR = 1.66, 95% CI [1.22, 2.25], p =.001), bullies (aOR = 1.88, 95% CI [1.02, 3.52]), and bully-victims (aOR = 2.17, 95% CI [1.04, 4.71]). Children left behind for seven years or longer were more likely to be victims (aOR = 1.49, 95% CI [1.12, 2.00], p =.007), bullies (aOR = 2.03, 95% CI [1.15, 3.69]), and bully-victims (aOR = 2.13, 95% CI [1.06, 4.50]). The identified characteristics of parent-child separation associated with bullying involvement hold implications for parental decisions regarding internal migration, interventions, and policymaking for preventing bullying among left-behind children. This study examined the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Social-Emotional Assessment Measure (SEAM) (33–66 months), which is designed to assess social-emotional difficulties and behavior disorders in young children. In this case, the SEAM was translated and back-translated. The sample included 2477 preschoolers (1256 boys; M age = 57.57 months, SD = 10.93) residing in Shanghai, China. In summary, the results presented a 10-factor model that showed a good fit for the SEAM (33–66 months). Ultimately, the analyses demonstrated adequate internal consistency, reliability, and convergent validity. Objective: This study aimed to analyze and explore the nursing effects of integrated medical and nursing care intervention in correction surgery for children with concealed penis. Methods: A total of 76 eligible patients with concealed penis were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group. The control group received conventional nursing care, while the observation group received integrated medical and nursing care intervention. Outcomes include pain levels, comfort status, incidence of complications, and nursing satisfaction were collected and analyzed to investigate the nursing effects of the integrated medical and nursing care model. Results: After 2/3 days of nursing intervention, the patients in the observation group had significantly lower pain scores (measured by FPS-R) compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The patients in the observation group also had significantly higher comfort scores (measured by Kolcabal) compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (2.63 vs. 23.68, P < 0.05). Parental satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The integrated medical and nursing care intervention in correction surgery for children with concealed penis demonstrated positive nursing effects. It effectively reduced pain, improved comfort, lowered the risk of complications, and increased parental satisfaction. Aim: To evaluate the effect of subgingival delivery of progranulin (PGRN)/gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) complex as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) on an experimental periodontitis dog model with Class II furcation involvement (FI). Materials and Methods: A Class II FI model was established, and the defects were divided into four treatment groups: (a) no treatment (control); (b) SRP; (c) SRP + GelMA; (d) SRP + PGRN/GelMA. Eight weeks after treatment, periodontal parameters were recorded, gingival crevicular fluid and gingival tissue were collected for ELISA and RT‐qPCR, respectively, and mandibular tissue blocks were collected for micro computed tomography (micro‐CT) scanning and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. Results: The SRP + PGRN/GelMA group showed significant improvement in all periodontal parameters compared with those in the other groups. The expression of markers related to M1 macrophage and Th17 cell significantly decreased, and the expression of markers related to M2 macrophage and Treg cell significantly increased in the SRP + PGRN/GelMA group compared with those in the other groups. The volume, quality and area of new bone and the length of new cementum in the root furcation defects of the PGRN/GelMA group were significantly increased compared to those in the other groups. Conclusions: Subgingival delivery of the PGRN/GelMA complex could be a promising non‐surgical adjunctive therapy for anti‐inflammation, immunomodulation and periodontal regeneration. Purpose: The Chinese Emotional Speech Audiometry Project (CESAP) aims to establish a new material set for Chinese speech audiometry tests, which can be used in both neutral and emotional prosody settings. As the first endeavor of CESAP, this study demonstrates the development of the material foundation and reports its validation in neutral prosody. Method: In the development step, 40 phonetically balanced word lists consisting of 30 Chinese disyllabic words with neutral valence were first generated. In a following affective rating experiment, 35 word lists were qualified for validation based on the familiarity and valence ratings from 30 normal-hearing (NH) participants. For validation, performance-intensity functions of each word list were fitted with responses from 60 NH subjects under six presentation levels (−1, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 20 dB HL). The final material set was determined by the intelligibility scores at each decibel level and the mean slopes. Results: First, 35 lists satisfied the criteria of phonetic balance, limited repetitions, high familiarity, and neutral valence and were selected for validation. Second, 15 lists were compiled in the final material set based on the pairwise differences in intelligibility scores and the fitted 20%–80% slopes. The established material set had high reliability and validity and was sensitive to detect intelligibility changes (50% slope: 6.20%/dB; 20%–80% slope: 5.45%/dB), with small covariance of variation for thresholds (15%), 50% slope (12%), and 20%–80% slope (12%). Conclusion: Our final material set of 15 word lists takes the initiative to control the emotional aspect of audiometry tests, which enriches available Mandarin speech recognition materials and warrants future assessments in emotional prosody among populations with hearing impairments. Background: Mental health issues (depression and suicidal ideation) are increasingly common in children and emerge as escalating public health concerns. The syndemics that underline the importance of risk factor clustering provides a framework for intervention, but there is a lack of research on syndemics involving the adverse interactions of children's mental health problems. This study therefore examined the cumulative and synergistic effects of vulnerable conditions on depression and suicidal ideation among children in China. Methods: A mental health screening census of students in grades 5–12 was conducted from November 2022 to January 2023 in Nanling County, Anhui Province, China. The prevalence and co-occurrence of vulnerable conditions (unfavorable parental marital status, left-behind experience, bullying victimization, and self-harm behavior), depression, and suicidal ideation and the cumulative and synergistic effects of vulnerable conditions on depression and suicidal ideation were explored. Results: Nearly a quarter of students (24.8%) reported at least two syndemic conditions. Overall, the prevalence of depression and suicidal ideation were 20.2% and 24.2% respectively. The odds of depression and suicidal ideation were higher for children with one or more vulnerable conditions and were ten times higher for children with three or more vulnerable conditions compared with those without any vulnerable condition. These four vulnerable conditions can increase the odds of depression and suicidal ideation by interacting synergistically with each other. Background: High-dose cytarabine (HDAC) is commonly used for consolidation therapy in young acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients, but the dosage of cytarabine is still controversial in the clinic due to its obvious post-chemotherapy adverse effects. The aim of this study was to contrast the efficacy in different dose groups of cytarabine after consolidation therapy in Chinese AML patients. Methods: AML patients treated with cytarabine consolidation at Qilu Hospital, Shandong University from January 2010 to September 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, from which 346 AML patients with relatively complete follow-up data were selected for this study. We compared the patients' overall survival (OS) rate, relapse-free survival (RFS) rate, and hematologic adverse events in terms of their general characteristics, cytarabine consolidation therapy dose, consolidation course, 2022 European Leukemia Net (ELN) risk stratification, and transplantation. Results: In AML patients under 60 years of age, the 5-year RFS rate with high-dose cytarabine consolidation therapy was superior to that of small-dose cytarabine (P = 0.024), while the 5-year RFS rate was comparable in the high-dose and intermediate-dose groups, and there was no obvious difference among the three groups in the 5-year OS rate (P > 0.05). OS and RFS of those given more than 3 courses of cytarabine consolidation therapy were better than those in the 1–2 courses group (P = 0.060, P = 0.040). OS and RFS were better in patients with cumulative dose of cytarabine ≥ 36g than in patients with cumulative dose < 36g (P < 0.05), but cumulative dose ≥ 54g was comparable in OS and RFS with ≥ 36–< 54g group (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in hematologic adverse effects among the three treatment groups. In the latest ELN risk stratification favorable-risk group, the cumulative dose of cytarabine ≥ 36g had a better 5-year RFS rate than the < 36g group (P = 0.038), and in the intermediate-risk group the 5-year OS rate and RFS rate were better in the ≥ 36g group than the < 36g group (P = 0.012, 0.025). In addition, the prognosis of transplanted patients was better than that of non-transplanted patients, whereas in non-transplanted patients, consolidation therapy with ≥ 36g cytarabine can effectively improve outcomes. Multivariate analysis indicated that age, fibrinogen (FIB) and the cumulative dose of cytarabine of ≥ 36–< 54g were predictors of OS, while age, white blood cell (WBC) and HDAC were predictors of RFS. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that consolidation therapy with cytarabine up to a cumulative dose of ≥ 36–< 54g in AML patients who did not undergo transplantation significantly improved patient prognosis. Background: It is uncertain if mean platelet volume and periodontitis are related. The objective of this study was to examine the association between levels of mean platelet volume and moderate/severe periodontitis in adult persons who inhabit the U.S. Methods: We screened 6,809 people from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES 2009–2012). Mean platelet volume was measured in the Mobile Examination Centers (MECs) using the Beckman Coulter analyzer. The category of periodontitis was defined by the CDC/AAP using clinical periodontal parameters. Multiple logistic regression models were employed to examine the distribution for covariate differences across the various independent groups. Four models were employed to examine the relationship between mean platelet volume level and periodontitis. Smoothed curve fitting was utilized to confirm the linearity of the relationships. To determine the impact of factors on the connection between MPV and periodontitis, subgroup analysis and interaction testing were utilized. Results: Results from the multiple logistic regression analysis indicate a significant association between moderate/severe periodontitis and the mean platelet level, even after considering any potential confounding variables (OR = 1.090, 95% CI: 1.019–1.166, P-value = 0.01211). Additionally, those in the upper tertile of mean platelet volume levels had a 21.6% higher probability of developing periodontitis when compared with those in the least tertile of mean platelet levels (OR = 1.216, 95% CI:1.052–1.406, P-value = 0.00816). Moreover, it showed a positive correlation between mean platelet volume (MPV) and moderate/severe periodontitis. Subgroup analyses indicated a positive association between the level of mean platelet volume and moderate/severe periodontitis among individuals who were under 60 years of age, had low income, were obese, never smoked, were heavy drinkers, had hypertension, and had no cardiovascular disease (p < 0.05). However, none of the subgroups exhibited significant interactions (p for interaction > 0.05). Advance care planning is important and timely for patients receiving home health services; however, opportunities to facilitate awareness and engagement in this setting are often missed. This qualitative descriptive study elicited perspectives of home health nurses and social workers regarding barriers and facilitators to creating advance care plans in home health settings, with particular attention to patients with few familial or social contacts who can serve as surrogate decision-makers. We interviewed 15 clinicians employed in a large New York City-based home care agency in 2021-2022. Participants reported a multitude of barriers to supporting patients with advance care planning at the provider level (eg, lack of time and professional education, deferment, discomfort), patient level (lack of knowledge, mistrust, inadequate support, deferment, language barriers), and system level (eg, discontinuity of care, variations in advance care planning documents, legal concerns, lack of institutional protocols and centralized information). Participants noted that greater socialization and connection to existing educational resources regarding the intended purpose, scope, and applicability of advance directives could benefit home care patients. Objectives: This study aimed to compare the prevalence of oral frailty among community-dwelling older people in Nanjing, China with the usage of different measurements, and to investigate the potential risk factors of oral frailty. Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting and participants: A total of 338 community-dwelling older people in Nanjing, China were recruited. Methods: Oral frailty was measured based on the Oral Frailty Index-8 (OFI-8) scale and other measurement methods including the number of natural teeth (TN), repetitive saliva-swallowing test (RSST), and oral diadochokinesis (ODK). The chi-square test and the binary logistic regression analysis were performed to identify potential risk factors for oral frailty. Results: There were 310 participants included in the analysis. Prevalence of oral frailty by using the OFI-8, OFI-8 + TN, OFI-8 + ODK, OFI-8 + TN + ODK and RSST measurement methods were 69.0%, 27.4%, 51.9%, 21.0% and 2.9%, respectively. Passive smoking (OR = 2.04; 95%CI 1.03–4.03), being widowed/unmarried (OR1 = 2.53; 95%CI 1.25–5.10; OR2 = 2.94; 95%CI 1.12–7.77), pre-frailty (OR = 1.76; 95%CI 1.03–3.01), frailty (OR = 3.01; 95%CI 1.39–6.54), and aged 80 years and above (OR = 3.99; 95%CI 1.35–11.81) were found to be risk factors of oral frailty by the usage of the four kinds of measurement methods. Conclusions and implications: The definition and diagnostic criteria of oral frailty are strongly needed to be unified in future research. Only subjective assessment is not enough for assessing oral frailty. Among objective indicators, RSST is not suitable as a screening method for oral frailty. In addition, objective indicators including TN and ODK should be valued for early screening and preventive interventions. Purpose: The aim of this study was to explore the relationships between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of crucial molecules in the cGAS-STING signalling pathway and the susceptibility to, induction chemotherapy response of, and prognosis of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in Chinese patients. Methods: Thirteen SNPs of crucial molecules in the cGAS-STING signalling pathway were genotyped in 262 AML patients using the Sequenom MassARRAY system. The associations of SNPs with susceptibility, and induction chemotherapy response were analysed using the chi-square test or Fisher's exact test and univariate binary logistic regression, the connection of SNPs with prognosis of AML was analysed using the log-rank test, and Kaplan–Meier curves were applied for survival estimation. Results: In our study, gene polymorphisms of cGAS-STING signalling pathway molecules could be vitally associated with AML. In the recessive model, the cGAS rs311678 gene polymorphism could be closely related to AML susceptibility (CC vs. TT + TC, odds ratio (OR) = 0.480, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.260–0.889, p = 0.020). Moreover, IKKA rs3808917 might be associated with the WBC count, cGAS rs311678 could be associated with the bone marrow (BM) blast percentage, and NF-κB rs1056890 under codominant and recessive models could be connected with the HGB level. Patients who were STING rs7380272 TT/CT carriers was likely to have higher insensitivity to induction chemotherapy than CC carriers (TT + CT vs. CC, OR = 2.917, 95% CI = 1.073–7.929, p = 0.036). Survival analysis indicated that the IKKB rs3747811 TT genotype might be associated with decreased overall survival (OS) (p < 0.05). Conclusions: SNPs of molecules in the cGAS-STING signalling pathway could be significantly associated with AML. The cGAS rs311678 gene polymorphism could be associated with AML susceptibility, the STING rs7380272 variant might be related to induction chemotherapy response, and IKKB rs3747811 tended to be associated with AML overall survival. Moreover, IKKA rs3808917 could be associated with the WBC count, cGAS rs311678 could be associated with the BM blast percentage, and NF-κB rs1056890 might be related to the HGB level. To identify the core residual symptom of MDD and assess its relationship with patients' long-term outcomes. All patients were administered antidepressants during the acute phase and treated continuously. The 521 patients remitted at month 6 of a multicenter prospective project were included. Remission was defined as a Quick Inventory of Depressive Symptoms-Self-Report total score of ≤5. Functional impairments were measured with the Sheehan Disability Scale, quality of life with the Quality of Life Enjoyment and Satisfaction Questionnaire - short form, and family burden with the Family Burden Scale of Disease. Visits were scheduled at baseline, weeks 2, 8, 12, and month 6. Difficulty with concentration/decision making was the core residual symptom of MDD, determined with the centrality measure of network analysis. It was positively associated with functional impairments and family burden (r = 0.35, P < 0.01 and r = 0.31, P < 0.01, respectively) and negatively associated with life satisfaction (r = −0.29, P < 0.01). The exhibition of this residual symptom was associated with a family history of psychiatric disorders (OR = 2.610 [1.242–5.485]). The core residual symptom of MDD, difficulty with concentration/decision making, is associated with poorer social functioning, heavier family burden, and lower life satisfaction. Simple Summary: Central nervous system lymphoma (CNSL) is a highly aggressive form of lymphoma. However, treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy may be intolerable for older or specific patients due to the associated toxicity and severe neurotoxicity. Some studies have shown that Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKis) are effective for CNSL. However, most of these studies were small-sample studies, so the efficacy and safety of BTKis in CNSL are not yet clearly defined. Furthermore, the existing reviews have mainly focused on patients with relapsed/refractory CNSL or primary CNSL, and there have been fewer studies on second-generation BTKis, with a lack of reviews on the evidence of BTKis for CNSL. Therefore, this systematic review aims to comprehensively and systematically elucidate the efficacy and safety of BTKis in the treatment of CNSL. The results indicate that BTKis are effective not only for relapsed/refractory cases but also for newly diagnosed CNSL, with an acceptable safety profile. However, high-quality clinical trials are still needed in the future. Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Bruton tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKis) for central nervous system lymphoma (CNSL). Methods: A systematic review was carried out to identify relevant studies from the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, WanFang, CNKI, and CBM databases. The studies included patients with CNSL who received BTKis and reported the overall response (OR), complete remission (CR), and partial response (PR). An overall effect analysis was performed using STATA 15.0. A random-effects model was utilized to calculate the pooled rates, and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were determined for all outcomes. Results: A total of 21 studies involving 368 patients were included in the meta-analysis. For newly diagnosed CNSL, due to the small simple size, we conducted a quantitative description, and the ORR could reach up to 100%. For relapsed/refractory patients, the pooled ORR was 72% (95% CI: 64–80%, I2 = 54.89%, p = 0.00), with a pooled CR and PR of 43% (95% CI: 33–54%, I2 = 65.40%, p = 0.00) and 23% (95% CI: 13–35%, I2 = 78.05%, p = 0.00), respectively. Most adverse events were hematology-related and generally manageable. Conclusion: BTKis showed acceptable efficacy and safety in treating patients with CNSL. Objective This study investigates the positivity and relevance of non-criteria aPLs with clinical phenotypes in patients highly suspected of or diagnosed with APS. Methods Outpatient cases were included from a prospectively maintained database, and patients were grouped into APS (n  = 168), seronegative APS (SNAPS, n  = 9), those meeting the diagnostic criteria for clinical events without laboratory results (only-event, n  = 15), those that had aPL positivity without clinical manifestations (asymptomatic APA, n  = 39), and healthy controls (n  = 88). Criteria aPL results and APS-related clinical features were extracted. Sixteen non-criteria aPLs were tested and analysed. Results LA, aCL and anti-β2 glycoprotein-I were positive in 84.5%, 61.3% and 74.4% of APS patients, and 61.5%, 59.0% and 74.4% of asymptomatic APA patients, respectively. In patients negative for criteria serological tests, 23 out of 24 were positive for at least one non-criteria aPL. Triple-positive patients also had significantly higher tests of some aPLs in comparison with other groups. Stroke was associated with anti-phosphatidyl-inositol (aPI) IgG and anti-phosphatidyl-glycerol (aPG) IgG. Late embryonic loss correlated with aPI IgM, and premature birth/eclampsia was associated with aPI IgG and aPG IgG. There were also positive associations between heart valve lesions and anti-phosphatidylserine–prothrombin (aPS/PT) IgM, APS nephropathy and anti-phosphatidyl-choline IgG or aPS/PT IgG, and livedo reticularis and anti-phosphatidyl-ethanolamine IgM. Conclusion The prevalence of non-criteria aPLs differed from diagnostic biomarkers in patients diagnosed with or suspected of APS. Vulnerabilities of adolescents during times of crisis have been previously identified, but little research has investigated the compounding effects of lifetime adversities and pandemic-related stress on adolescent mental health. This study uses adolescent self-report data to model relationships between stress exposures and indicators of poor mental health from the longitudinal COVID Experiences (CovEx) Surveys. These surveys were administered online in English to U.S. adolescents ages 13–19 using the NORC AmeriSpeak® panel, a probability-based panel designed to be representative of the U.S. household population. Two waves of data were collected (Wave 1: October–November 2020, n = 727; Wave 2: March–May 2021, n = 569). Measures included demographics, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs, 8 items), pandemic-related stress (Pandemic-Related Stress Index [PRSI], 7 items), and depression symptoms (Patient Health Questionnaire for Adolescents [PHQ-A], 9 items). Path analyses were conducted to examine pathways between Wave 1 ACEs, Wave 1 PRSI, and Wave 2 PHQ with covariates of sex and race/ethnicity. Females had higher ACEs, PRSI, and PHQ scores than males. The PRSI score at Wave 1 was positively associated with the PHQ at Wave 2 (b = 0.29, SE = 0.14, p < 0.001). ACEs at Wave 1 were positively associated with PRSI at Wave 1 (b = 0.31, SE = 0.03, p < 0.001) and with PHQ at Wave 2 (b = 0.32, SE = 0.12, p < 0.001). The direct effect of ACEs on PHQ (b = 0.23, SE = 0.12, p < 0.001) remained significant even after accounting for the indirect effect of pandemic-related stress (b = 0.09, SE = 0.05, p < 0.001). Pandemic-related stress had a direct, adverse impact on adolescent depressive symptoms and demonstrates a compounding effect of childhood adversity and pandemic-related stress on depression. Background: Numerous previous research have established the need for spiritual care among patients with cancer globally. Nevertheless, there was limited research, primarily qualitative, on the spiritual care needs of Chinese inpatients with advanced breast cancer. Furthermore, the need for spiritual care was rarely explored using the Kano model. To better understand the spiritual care needs and attributes characteristics of inpatients with advanced breast cancer, this study examined the Kano model. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design study was conducted in the oncology departments of three tertiary grade-A hospitals in China from October 2022 to May 2023. To guarantee high-quality reporting of the study, the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology Checklist was used. Data on the demographic characteristics questionnaire, the Nurse Spiritual Therapeutics Scale (NSTS), and the Kano model-based Nurse Spiritual Therapeutics Attributes Scale (K-NSTAs) were collected through convenience sampling. The Kano model, descriptive statistics, two independent samples t-tests, and one-way analysis of variance were used to analyze the data. Results: The overall score for spiritual care needs was 31.16 ± 7.85. The two dimensions with the highest average scores, "create a good atmosphere" (3.16 ± 0.95), and the lowest average scores, "help religious practice" (1.72 ± 0.73). The 12 items were distributed as follows: three attractive attributes were located in Reserving Area IV; five one-dimensional attributes were distributed as follows: three one-dimensional attributes were located in Predominance Area I, and two were found in Improving Area II; two must-be attributes were located in Improving Area II; and two indifference attributes were located in Secondary Improving Area III. Conclusion: The Chinese inpatients with advanced breast cancer had a middle level of spiritual care needs, which need to be further improved. Spiritual care needs attributes were defined, sorted, categorized, and optimized accurately and perfectly by the Kano model. And "create a good atmosphere" and "share self-perception" were primarily one-dimensional and must-be attributes. In contrast, the items in the dimensions of "share self-perception" and "help thinking" were principally attractive attributes. Nursing administrators are advised to optimize attractive attributes and transform indifference attributes by consolidating must-be and one-dimensional attributes, which will enable them to take targeted spiritual care measures based on each patient's characteristics and unique personality traits. Background: Postoperative pain is common in pediatric urological surgery. The study assess the impact of perioperative intravenous infusion of low-dose esketamine on postoperative pain in pediatric urological surgery. Methods: Pediatric patients (n = 80) undergoing urological surgery were randomized into four groups. Patients in the control group were administered an analgesic pump containing only hydromorphone at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg (Hydromorphone Group 1, H1) or 0.15 mg/kg (Hydromorphone Group 2, H2). Patients in the experimental group were injected intravenously with 0.3 mg/kg of esketamine (Esketamine group 1, ES1) or equal volume of saline (Esketamine Group 2, ES2) during anesthesia induction. Esketamine 1.0 mg/kg and hydromorphone 0.1 mg/kg were added to the analgesic pump. Face, Leg, Activity, Crying, and Comfort (FLACC) scale or the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and adverse effects were recorded at 2, 6, 24, and 48 h postoperatively. Additionally, total and effective PCA button presses were recorded. Results: In comparison to the H1 group, the pain scores were notably reduced at all postoperative time points in both the ES1 and H2 groups. The ES2 group exhibited lower pain scores only at 24 and 48 h postoperatively. When compared to the H2 group, there were no significant differences in pain scores at various postoperative time points in the ES2 group. However, the ES1 group demonstrated significantly lower pain scores at 6, 24 and 48 h postoperatively, and these scores were also significantly lower than those observed in the ES2 group. The total and effective number of PCA button presses in the ES1, ES2 and H2 group were lower than that in the H1 group (P < 0.001). The incidence of adverse effects within 48 h after surgery was 15% in ES1, 22% in ES2, 58% in H1, and 42% in H2, respectively (P = 0.021). Conclusions: The use of low-dose esketamine infusion in analgesia pump can effectively alleviates postoperative pain in pediatric urological patients, leading to a significant reduction in the number of analgesic pump button press. The combined approach of perioperative anesthesia induction and analgesia pump administration is recommended for optimal pain management in these patients. Background Growing evidence suggests that atrial fibrillation (AF) is an independent risk factor for cognitive impairment and dementia, even in the absence of thromboembolic events and stroke. Whether rhythm-control therapy can protect cognitive function remains unclear. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of rhythm-control strategies in patients with AF regarding cognitive function and dementia risk. Methods We systematically searched the PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library databases for randomised clinical trials, cohort and case–control studies evaluating the associations between rhythm-control strategies and cognitive function outcomes up to May 2023. We assessed the risk of bias using the ROBINS-I and the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool. Both fixed- and random-effects models were used to create summary estimates of risk. Results We included a total of 14 studies involving 193,830 AF patients. In the pooled analysis, compared with rate-control, rhythm-control therapy was significantly associated with a lower risk of future dementia (hazard ratio (HR) 0.74; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.62–0.89; I 2 = 62%). Among the rhythm-control strategies, AF ablation is a promising treatment that was related to significantly lower risks of overall dementia (HR 0.62; 95% CI 0.56–0.68; I 2 = 42%), Alzheimer's disease (HR 0.78; 95% CI 0.66–0.92; I 2 = 0%) and vascular dementia (HR 0.58; 95% CI 0.42–0.80; I 2 = 31%). Pooled results also showed that compared with patients without ablation, those who underwent AF ablation had significantly greater improvement in cognitive score (standardized mean difference (SMD) 0.85; 95% CI 0.30–1.40; P  = 0.005; I 2 = 76%). Conclusions Rhythm-control strategies, especially ablation, are effective in protecting cognitive function, reducing dementia risk and thus improving quality of life in AF patients. Purpose: Individuals with vitamin D (VD) insufficiency have a greater tendency to develop obesity and have increased systemic inflammation. Gut microbiota are involved in the regulation of host inflammation and energy metabolism, which plays a role in the pathogenesis of obesity. Thus, we aimed to evaluate the effects of different doses of VD3 on body weight, serum lipids, inflammatory factors, and intestinal barrier function in obese mice and to explore the regulatory effect of VD3 on gut microbiota in obese mice. Methods: Male C57BL/6 J mice received a normal chow diet (NCD, 10% fat) or high-fat diet (HFD, 60% fat) to induce obesity within 10 weeks. Then, HFD mice were supplemented with 5650, 8475, or 11,300 IU VD3/kg diet for 8 weeks. Finally, 16 s rRNA analysis was performed to analyze gut microbiota composition in cecal contents. In addition, body weight, serum lipids, inflammatory factors, and intestinal barrier function were analyzed. Results: VD3 supplementation reduced body weight and the levels of TG, TC, HDL-C, TNF-α, IL-1β and LPS, and increased ZO-1 in HFD-fed mice. Moreover, it increased α-diversity, reduced F/B ratio and altered microbiota composition by increasing relative abundance of Bacteroidetes, Proteobacteria, Desulfovibrio, Dehalobacterium, Odoribacter, and Parabacteroides and reducing relative abundance of Firmicutes and Ruminococcus. There were significant differences between HFD and NCD groups in several metabolic pathways, including endotoxin biosynthesis, tricarboxylic acid cycle, lipid synthesis and metabolism, and glycolysis. Conclusions: Low, medium, and high doses of VD3 inhibited weight gain, reduced levels of blood lipids and inflammatory factors, and improved endotoxemia and gut barrier function in obese mice. It also increased the α-diversity of gut microbiota in obese mice and reduced the relative abundance of some intestinal pathogenic bacteria, increased the relative abundance of some beneficial bacteria, and corrected the intestinal flora disorder of obese mice, with the low- and high-dose groups showing better effects than the medium-dose group. Objective: The main objectives of this study were to identify the active components of Tongguanteng injection (TGT) and investigate the preclinical efficacy and mechanism of TGT on osteosarcoma using a combination of network pharmacology and experimental validation. Methods: To identify the active constituents and targets of TGT against osteosarcoma using network pharmacology, we constructed a network consisting of an 'active ingredient-disease-target-pathway' and a protein–protein interaction (PPI) network. The target organ network was utilized to investigate the distribution of core targets in tissues. Afterwards, the core targets underwent Gene ontology (GO) functional enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses. The binding energy between receptors and ligands was compared using molecular docking. In addition, SwissADME was employed to forecast the pharmacokinetic characteristics of the substances. Finally, real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), cell proliferation assay, morphological analysis, apoptosis assay, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) detection, and Western blotting were utilized to confirm the potential mechanisms of TGT treatment in osteosarcoma cell lines 143B and SAOS2. Results: A total of 54 chemical constituents of TGT and 71 targets associated with osteosarcoma were acquired. Through the molecular docking technology, Tenacigenin B, Marsdekoiside, Taraxasterol, Tenacissoside G, Tenacissoside L, and Tenacissoside J were identified as the primary active components of TGT among the various compounds. Analysis of target organs suggests that TGT may play an anti-osteosarcoma role through immune regulation. The GO and KEGG enrichment analysis revealed that TGT could trigger osteosarcoma cell apoptosis by inhibiting the HIF-1 signalling pathway and modulating PD-1 expression and the PD-1 checkpoint pathway in cancer. SwissADME database predicted that Tenacigenin B and Taraxasterol had the best drug-likeness. In vitro studies also demonstrated that TGT suppressed the activity and induced alterations in the morphology of osteosarcoma cells. It decreased MMP levels, triggered apoptosis by increasing Bax expression and Caspase-3 activity, and decreased Bcl-2 expression, thereby exerting an anti-osteosarcoma effect. In the meantime, RT-PCR tests demonstrated that TGT could control immune response against tumors and hinder the proliferation and spread of cancerous cells by impacting the levels of critical factors, including JUN, HSP90AA1, HDAC1, and CDK1. Conclusion: The study accurately anticipated the active components, targets, and pathways of TGT in the management of osteosarcoma. The molecular mechanism of TGT-induced apoptosis in osteosarcoma cells was demonstrated by in vitro experiments. Purpose: This study intends to assess the reference range of lamotrigine concentration for treating childhood epilepsy. Methods: PubMed, Ovid-Embase, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, WanFang data and VIP databases were searched from database inception to January 2022. RCT, cohort study, case–control study, cross-sectional study that estimated the reference range of lamotrigine for children epilepsy treatment were included. The data extracted included basic information, statistical methods, data type, and results of reference range. Descriptive analysis was performed for them. Results: 8 studies were included and estimated the reference range, and all of them were calculated based on efficacy data and/or concentration data. Statistical methods including ROC curve, concentration-effect curve, mean ± standard deviation, 95% confidence interval and percentile interval were utilized. For lamotrigine monotherapy, the lower limits ranged from 2.06 mg/L to 3.99 mg/L, and the upper limits ranged from 8.43 mg/L to 9.08 mg/L, showing basic consistency. However, for lamotrigine concomitant with valproate, the lower limits ranged from 2.00 mg/L to 8.00 mg/L, and the upper limit was 11.50 mg/L, for lamotrigine concomitant with other antiepileptics, the lower limits ranged from 1.00 mg/L to 3.09 mg/L, and the upper limits varied from 5.90 mg/L to 16.24 mg/L, indicating inconsistency. Conclusion: Several studies have estimated the reference range of lamotrigine for childhood epilepsy, while controversy exist and no studies have determined the upper limit of the range based on safety data. Background: Loneliness has a significant impact on the physical and psychological well-being of patients with cancer. However, the specific factors contributing to loneliness among patients with cancer within the context of Chinese culture remain poorly understood. Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with loneliness among patients with cancer in China. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using convenience sampling, involving a sample of 205 patients with cancer from a tertiary hospital in Guangzhou, China. Participants completed several validated questionnaires, including the Cancer Loneliness Scale (CLS), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), Cancer-Related Negative Social Expectations Scale (C-rNSES), and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis was employed to explore the relationships between loneliness and psychosocial factors. Results: The median score for loneliness among patients with cancer was 13, with an interquartile range of 8. The multiple linear stepwise regression analysis revealed that negative social expectations, social support, and depression were significantly associated with loneliness in this population. Collectively, these factors accounted for 50.1% (R 2 =.501) of the variance in loneliness. Conclusions: The findings of this study highlight the importance of addressing negative social expectations and depression and improving social support to prevent or reduce loneliness among patients with cancer. Subcortical brain regions play essential roles in the pathology of social anxiety disorder (SAD). While adolescence is the peak period of SAD, the relationships between altered development of the subcortical regions during this period and SAD are still unclear. This study investigated the age-dependent alterations in structural co-variance among subcortical regions and between subcortical and cortical regions, aiming to reflect aberrant coordination during development in the adolescent with SAD. High-resolution T1-weighted images were obtained from 76 adolescents with SAD and 67 healthy controls (HC), ranging from 11 to 17.9 years. Symptom severity was evaluated with the Social Anxiety Scale for Children (SASC) and the Depression Self Rating Scale for Children (DSRS-C). Structural co-variance and sliding age-window analyses were used to detect age-dependent group differences in inter-regional coordination patterns among subcortical regions and between subcortical and cortical regions. The volume of the striatum significantly correlated with SAD symptom severity. The SAD group exhibited significantly enhanced structural co-variance among key regions of the striatum (putamen and caudate). While the co-variance decreased with age in healthy adolescents, the co-variance in SAD adolescents stayed high, leading to more apparent group differences in middle adolescence. Moreover, the striatum's mean structural co-variance with cortical regions decreased with age in HC but increased with age in SAD. Adolescents with SAD suffer aberrant developmental coordination among the key regions of the striatum and between the striatum and cortical regions. Aim: This study aimed to measure pandemic fatigue, physical and mental health, and job status of front‐line medical staff in Ningbo. And to identify factors associated with pandemic fatigue. Background: There was an acute increase in fatigue symptoms at the COVID‐19 pandemic onset. The front‐line medical staff is particularly vulnerable to fatigue due to their high‐intensity work. Design: This was a descriptive, cross‐sectional study conducted using an online survey that included demographic data, investigation of COVID‐19 history and job status. The Fatigue Assessment Scale, GAD‐7 score and Sleep Quality Scale were used to collect data from 479 front‐line medical staff. Methods: The study involved 479 front‐line medical staff in Ningbo, China. The survey was conducted using an online questionnaire that included demographic data, investigation of COVID‐19 history and job status. The Fatigue Assessment Scale, GAD‐7 score and Sleep Quality Scale were used to collect data. Results: The results showed that of the 479 participants, 393 (82%) reported pandemic fatigue, 393 (82%) reported job satisfaction and 433 (90.4%) identified with their sense of job value. Sleep quality, work with a fever, economic subsidies for fighting COVID‐19 and recognizing professional value were significantly correlated with pandemic fatigue. Conclusions: As the COVID‐19 pandemic challenges front‐line medical workers, implementing measures is essential. Health policy implementers could provide sufficient front‐line medical staff to ensure rest in case of infection, promote sleep quality and foster professional value and financial subsidies in units. Background: Providing a favourable practice environment has been regarded as an essential to improve the job outcomes of newly graduated nurses (NGNs). However, little is known about how and when NGNs can best utilize their practice environment to produce optimal job outcomes. Aim: The aim of this study, which is based on the Conservation of Resources Theory and the Social Cognitive Model of Career Self‐Management, is to investigate whether NGNs who have a higher level of personal growth initiative are more likely to benefit from their practice environment and achieve better job outcomes by increasing their occupational self‐efficacy. Design: A cross‐sectional study. Methods: From 1 September 2022, to 30 September 2022, 279 NGNs from five Chinese state‐owned hospitals were recruited for this study. The participants completed measures of practice environment, personal growth initiative, occupational self‐efficacy, job stress, job satisfaction, turnover intention and quality of care. A descriptive analysis and a moderated mediation model were computed. Reporting adhered to the STROBE statement. Results: The influence of the practice environment on job outcomes was significantly mediated by occupational self‐efficacy, with personal growth initiative acting as a moderator of this mediation effect. Conclusions: NGNs who exhibited a higher degree of personal growth initiative were more likely to derive benefits from their practice environment and attain positive job outcomes by enhancing their occupational self‐efficacy. To boost NGNs' occupational self‐efficacy and achieve optimal job outcomes, hospital administrators may not only provide a supportive practice environment for them but also conduct interventions that promote their personal growth initiative. Objective. To investigate the relationship between glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to early onset type 2 diabetes. Methods. Samples from 316 type 2 diabetes patients with early onset type 2 diabetes (n = 137) and late-onset type 2 diabetes (n = 179) and 145 nondiabetic individuals were analyzed. Multiplex PCR combined with resequencing Hi-Reseq technology was used to detect single nucleotide polymorphisms of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor gene, and the allele frequency, genotype distribution, and clinical parameters were analyzed between each diabetes subgroup and the control group. Results. Sixteen single nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in the exonic region of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor gene according to the minor allele frequency (MAF > 0.05) in the participants. Among these, the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor rs3765467 (G⟶A) mutation was statistically associated with early onset type 2 diabetes. Compared with that of the GG carriers, carriers of genotype AA at rs3765467 had a decreased risk of early onset type 2 diabetes after adjusting for sex and body mass index. In the dominant model, the frequencies of the rs3765467 AA + GA genotype were significantly decreased in the early onset type 2 diabetes group, and carriers of genotype AA + GA at rs3765467 had a decreased risk of early onset type 2 diabetes after adjusting for sex and body mass index. Moreover, fasting C peptide levels were significantly higher in GA + AA genotype carriers than those in GG genotype carriers. Conclusion. The glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor rs3765467 polymorphism was significantly associated with age at type 2 diabetes diagnosis and thus may be used as a marker to screen and detect individuals at risk of developing early onset type 2 diabetes. COVID-19 is one of the most devastating pandemics in history. It is important to understand post-COVID-19 mental health issues and unhealthy behaviors. Investigate whether and how distress levels and unhealthy behaviors might differ across population segments after the end of a nationwide COVID-19 outbreak. Using random sampling, this large-scale study analyzed post-COVID-19 distress and unhealthy behaviors of individuals in Wuhan vs. Beijing in China (which were differentially impacted by the pandemic). Higher percentages of individuals residing in Wuhan (vs. Beijing) experienced moderate or severe post-COVID-19 distress. Higher percentages of men (vs. women) experienced moderate distress. Larger percentages of people with (vs. without) children experienced a severe level of distress. Post-COVID-19, higher percentages of people decreased (vs. increased) smoking and drinking, but the opposite was true for unhealthy snacking. Importantly, higher post-COVID-19 distress predicted higher consumption in all three unhealthy domains. Men (vs. women) were more likely to increase smoking and drinking; younger individuals were more likely to increase drinking and unhealthy snacking. Some population segments were disproportionately susceptible to post-COVID-19 distress and unhealthy behaviors. Objectives Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified loci associated with estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Few LN risk loci have been identified to date. We tested the association of SLE and eGFR polygenic risk scores (PRS) with repeated eGFR measures from children and adults with SLE. Methods Patients from two tertiary care lupus clinics that met ≥4 ACR and/or SLICC criteria for SLE were genotyped on the Illumina MEGA or Omni1-Quad arrays. PRSs were calculated for SLE and eGFR, using published weighted GWA-significant alleles. eGFR was calculated using the CKD-EPI and Schwartz equations. We tested the effect of eGFR- and SLE-PRSs on eGFR mean and variance, adjusting for age at diagnosis, sex, ancestry, follow-up time, and clinical event flags. Results We included 1158 SLE patients (37% biopsy-confirmed LN) with 36 733 eGFR measures over a median of 7.6 years (IQR: 3.9–15.3). LN was associated with lower within-person mean eGFR [LN: 93.8 (s. d. 26.4) vs non-LN: 101.6 (s. d. 17.7) mL/min per 1.73 m2 ; P  < 0.0001] and higher variance [LN median: 157.0 (IQR: 89.5, 268.9) vs non-LN median: 84.9 (IQR: 46.9, 138.2) (mL/min per 1.73 m2)2; P  < 0.0001]. Increasing SLE-PRSs were associated with lower mean eGFR and greater variance, while increasing eGFR-PRS was associated with increased eGFR mean and variance. Conclusion We observed significant associations between SLE and eGFR PRSs and repeated eGFR measurements, in a large cohort of children and adults with SLE. Background: Effective pain management is closely related to nurses' knowledge, attitudes and empathy regarding pain. Nursing educators and managers should understand the relationship between nurses' pain management knowledge, attitudes and empathy level, and take targeted measures accordingly. Currently, there is limited study exploring the relationship between pain empathy and pain knowledge and attitudes among nurses in North China. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of nurses' pain management knowledge and attitudes and pain empathy, to analyze the factors influencing pain empathy, and to explore the relationship between these two variables. Design: This study was a quantitative, descriptive-correlation design. Setting and participants: The study population was registered nurses in North China, the sample included 177 registered nurses in North China. Methods: Data were collected with the "General data questionnaire", "Knowledge and attitudes survey regarding pain" (KASRP) and the "Empathy for pain scale" (EPS) via Wechat mini program "Questionnaire Star". Results: The 177 registered nurses completed the survey. The averege correct rate for KASRP was (51.94 ± 9.44)%, and none of the respondents achieved a percentage score of >80%. The mean score for pain empathy was (2.78 ± 0.78), the empathy reactions dimension was (2.99 ± 0.77), and the body and mind discomfort dimension was (2.71 ± 0.80). The results of multiple stepwise linear regression showed that whether they had received empathy training, whether they had greater trauma or severe pain and whether they had negative emotions were independent influencing factors for EPS scores. Pearson correlation analysis showed that KASRP scores were positively correlated with EPS scores (r = 0.242, P < 0.05). Conclusions: The pain knowledge and attitudes of nurses in North China are far from optimal. Nurses have a relatively low accuracy rate in areas such as medication knowledge, assessment of patient pain based on case studies, and handling PRN prescriptions. Nursing educators and administrators need to design some pain management courses in a targeted manner. Nurses' empathy for pain was at a moderate level. Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between activities of daily living (ADL) limitations and family doctor contract services among overweight and obese older adults, as well as to examine whether this association varies by urban-rural residence. Methods: Data for the present study were obtained from the sixth Health Service of Shandong province, China. A total of 4,249 overweight and obese older adults were included in this study. Binary logistic regression models were used to evaluate the relationship between ADL limitations and family doctor contract services, to examine the potential differences between urban and rural areas. Results: Of 4,249 overweight and obese older adults, the prevalence of limitations in ADL and family doctor service contracting rate in Shandong province were 12.47% and 66.46%, respectively. The results of the regression analyses revealed that overweight and obese older adults with ADL limitations were more likely to sign up for family doctor services than those without ADL limitations (OR = 1.27, 95%CI: 1.02–1.58, P = 0.033). Only among rural overweight and obese older adults, the relationship between ADL limitations and family doctor contract services was statistically significant (OR = 1.50, 95%CI: 1.13–1.99, P = 0.005). Conclusions: Our study found a significant association between ADL limitations and family doctor contract services among overweight and obese older adults in Shandong, China. This relationship differed by urban-rural residence. To promote the positive development of the family doctor contract service system, the government should increase publicity, provide personalized contracted services, and prioritize the healthcare needs of overweight and obese older adults with ADL limitations, with special attention to rural areas. Background: The anatomical characteristics of difficult airways can be analysed geometrically. This study aims to develop and validate a geometry-assisted difficult airway screening method (GADAS method) for difficult tracheal intubation. Methods: In the GADAS method, a geometric simulated model was established based on computer graphics. According to the law of deformation of the upper airway on laryngoscopy, the expected visibility of the glottis was calculated to simulate the real visibility on laryngoscopy. Validation of the new method: Approved by the Ethics Committee of Yijishan Hospital of Wannan Medical College. Adult patients who needed tracheal intubation under general anaesthesia for elective surgery were enrolled. The data of patients were input into the computer software to calculate the expected visibility of the glottis. The results of tracheal intubation were recorded by anaesthesiologists. The primary observation outcome was the screening performance of the expected visibility of the glottis for difficult tracheal intubation. Results: The geometric model and software of the GADAS method were successfully developed and are available for use. We successfully observed 2068 patients, of whom 56 patients had difficult intubation. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of low expected glottis visibility for predicting difficult laryngoscopy was 0.96 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.95–0.96). The sensitivity and specificity were 89.3% (95% CI: 78.1-96.0%) and 94.3% (95% CI: 93.2%-95.3), respectively. Objective: This study aims to investigate the research status and hotspots of surgical treatment for tremor in Parkinson's disease (PD) from 2002 to 2022, utilizing bibliometric and visual analysis. Additionally, it aims to offer insights into future research trends in this field. Methods: This study collected publications on the surgical treatment of tremor in PD from 2002 to 2022 using the Web of Science (WOS) database. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Scimago Graphica were employed to quantify the number of publications and analyze the bibliographic information networks, including the contributions of countries/cities, authors, keywords, and co-cited references. Results: A total of 2,815 publications were included in the study, revealing that 541 scientific institutions experienced an increase in publications from 2002 to 2022. Michael Okun emerged as the most productive author, and the United States emerged as the leading hub for research. The study identified 772 keywords. Noteworthy citation bursts and long-term activity were observed in pallidotomy, bilateral stimulation, and focused ultrasound thalamotomy. The top 10 highly co-cited references comprised eight deep brain stimulation (DBS) studies (including two follow-up studies and six randomized controlled trials), one randomized controlled trial on focused ultrasound, and one consensus on tremor. Conclusion: This study uses an in-depth and systematic bibliometric and visualization analysis to visualize the evolution of research and identify emerging hotspots. The identified hotspots are as follows: Firstly, DBS has received significant attention and widespread recognition as a surgical treatment for tremor in PD. Secondly, there are various key aspects to consider in DBS, such as operative indications, operative targets, and surgical protocols. Lastly, magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) has emerged as a promising treatment option in the surgical management of tremor in Parkinson's disease. Few studies have focused on the exploration of the relationship between dietary fiber intake (DFI) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and its mediators in hypertensive patients. This study is a cross-sectional survey and the data were obtained from hypertensive patients from Suzhou, China. The DFI, office systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure, anxiety and depression, and HRQoL were investigated. We hypothesized that blood pressure, anxiety, and depression mediated the association between DFI and HRQoL, and used Pearson correlations, linear regression, and bootstrap tests to validate this relationship. A total of 211 hypertensive patients aged 20 to 64 years were included in this study. The average DFI was 12.4 ± 5.2 g/d, and the scores of physical component summary and mental component summary (MCS) were 46.5 ± 6.1 and 46.4 ± 6.4, respectively. DFI was positively correlated with physical component summary (r = 0.17, p = 0.014) and MCS (r = 0.27, P <.001). After controlling for sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, neither systolic blood pressure nor diastolic blood pressure showed mediating effects in the mediated model of DFI on MCS, whereas anxiety (b = –0.30; 95% confidence interval, –0.41 to –0.18) fully mediated the improvement in MCS by DFI (F = 11.14, P <.001). Because the MCS of HRQoL encompassed the assessment of depression, we did not analyze the mediating effect of depression in this model in order to avoid variable duplication. The decreased DFI is a risk factor for lower HRQoL, and anxiety mediated the relationship between DFI and MCS. Further research should focus on increasing DFI and reducing anxiety levels in hypertensive patients to improve their quality of life. Increased dietary fiber intake in hypertensive patients was associated with improvement in HRQoL. The DFI was positively correlated with PCS and MCS and negatively correlated with anxiety, whereas anxiety was negatively associated with MCS. Purpose: Cognitive barriers to Chinese women's sexual health-seeking behaviours remained unclear. Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate the characteristics of the sexual health beliefs of Chinese women to clarify why they were reluctant to seek help for sexual issues. Methods: An online survey was undertaken from April to July 2020. Results: A total of 3443 valid responses were gleaned (the effective rate was 82.6%), the participants of which were mainly Chinese urban women of childbearing age. Up to 66.0% (n=2271, the standardized rate was 66.8%~73.4%) felt ashamed of sexual health-related disorders. Most women (49.4%, n=1700) were strongly motivated to seek help for sexual issues but also had a great psychological impediment. Women with low motivation and a great psychological impediment were rare (6.4%, n= 219). Conclusions: The shame of sexual health-related disorders was the main barrier to sexual health-seeking behaviours for Chinese women, which should be given enough attention in related health services and sexual education. Segmentation is a crucial step in extracting the medical image features for clinical diagnosis. Though multiple metrics have been proposed to evaluate the segmentation performance, there is no clear study on how or to what extent the segmentation errors will affect the diagnostic related features used in clinical practice. Therefore, we proposed a segmentation robustness plot (SRP) to build the link between segmentation errors and clinical acceptance, where relative area under the curve (R-AUC) was designed to help clinicians to identify the robust diagnostic related image features. In experiments, we first selected representative radiological series from time series (cardiac first-pass perfusion) and spatial series (T2 weighted images on brain tumors) of magnetic resonance images, respectively. Then, dice similarity coefficient (DSC) and Hausdorff distance (HD), as the widely used evaluation metrics, were used to systematically control the degree of the segmentation errors. Finally, the differences between diagnostic related image features extracted from the ground truth and the derived segmentation were analyzed, using the statistical method large sample size T-test to calculate the corresponding p values. The results are denoted in the SRP, where the x-axis indicates the segmentation performance using the aforementioned evaluation metric, and the y-axis shows the severity of the corresponding feature changes, which are expressed in either the p values for a single case or the proportion of patients without significant change. The experimental results in SRP show that when DSC is above 0.95 and HD is below 3 mm, the segmentation errors will not change the features significantly in most cases. However, when segmentation gets worse, additional metrics are required for further analysis. In this way, the proposed SRP indicates the impact of the segmentation errors on the severity of the corresponding feature changes. By using SRP, one could easily define the acceptable segmentation errors in a challenge. Simple Summary: Given the variable aggressiveness of PCa, patients with indolent PCa do not require intervention, but rather require active surveillance and close lifelong follow-up, while those with invasive PCa require surgery, various types of radiation therapy, androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT), or multimodal treatment. Hence, it is critical to accurately distinguish indolent from invasive PCa for prognosis evaluation and treatment decision-making. The aim of the present study was to investigate the value of MR radiomics feature-based machine learning (ML) models in predicting the Ki67 index and Gleason grade group (GGG) of PCa. Biparametric magnetic resonance imaging (bpMRI) radiomics-based ML models to predict immuno-histochemically-determined Ki67 expression and the GGG demonstrated the ability to identify aggressive PCa. A preliminary exploration was performed in the conjoint analysis, laying the theoretical foundation for models predicting two or more variables; such models are expected to provide more comprehensive pathological information and provide valuable guidance for clinical decision-making in a noninvasive, synchronous, and objective manner. Purpose: The Ki67 index and the Gleason grade group (GGG) are vital prognostic indicators of prostate cancer (PCa). This study investigated the value of biparametric magnetic resonance imaging (bpMRI) radiomics feature-based machine learning (ML) models in predicting the Ki67 index and GGG of PCa. Methods: A total of 122 patients with pathologically proven PCa who had undergone preoperative MRI were retrospectively included. Radiomics features were extracted from T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps. Then, recursive feature elimination (RFE) was applied to remove redundant features. ML models for predicting Ki67 expression and GGG were constructed based on bpMRI and different algorithms, including logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN). The performances of different models were evaluated with receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. In addition, a joint analysis of Ki67 expression and GGG was performed by assessing their Spearman correlation and calculating the diagnostic accuracy for both indices. Results: The ML model based on LR and ADC + T2 (LR_ADC + T2, AUC = 0.8882) performed best in predicting Ki67 expression, and ADC_wavelet-LHH_firstorder_Maximum had the highest feature weighting. The SVM_DWI + T2 (AUC = 0.9248) performed best in predicting GGG, and DWI_wavelet HLL_glcm_SumAverage had the highest feature weighting. The Ki67 and GGG exhibited a weak positive correlation (r = 0.382, p < 0.001), and LR_ADC + DWI had the highest diagnostic accuracy in predicting both (0.6230). Conclusion: The proposed ML models are suitable for predicting both Ki67 expression and GGG in PCa. Tamoxifen is a drug used for treating breast cancer (BC), especially for individuals diagnosed with estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) BC. Its prolonged use could reduce the risk of recurrence and significantly lengthen the survival rate of BC patients. However, an increasing number of patients developed resistance to tamoxifen treatment, which reduced therapeutic efficiency and caused substandard prognosis. Therefore, the exploration of the molecular processes involved in tamoxifen resistance (TR) is urgently required. This investigation aimed to elucidate the relationship of microRNA-330 (miR-330-3p) with the TR of BC. There is little information on miR-330-3p′s link with drug-resistant BC, although it is well known to regulate cell proliferation and apoptosis. Primarily, miR-330-3p expression in parental BC (MCF7/T47D), TR (MCF7-TR), and T47D/TR cell lines was detected by qRT-PCR. Then, the impact of miR-330-3p on the TR of BC cells was assessed by a cell proliferation assay. Lastly, dual-luciferase reporter, qRT-PCR, and western blot assessments were carried out to identify histone deacetylase 4 (HDAC4) as the potential miR-330-3p target gene. The data indicated that miRNA-330 was overexpressed in TR ER+ BC cells and its overexpression could induce TR. Furthermore, miRNA-330 could also reduce the expression of HDAC4, which is closely linked to TR, and overexpression of HDAC4 could reverse miRNA-330-induced drug resistance. In summary, miR-330-3p could induce TR of ER+ BC cells by downregulating HDAC4 expression, which might be a novel marker of TR and a possible treatment target against BC patients who are tamoxifen-resistant. Objectives Genetics plays an important role in SLE risk, as well as osteonecrosis (ON), a significant and often debilitating complication of SLE. We aimed to identify genetic risk loci for ON in people with childhood-onset (cSLE) and adult-onset (aSLE) SLE. Methods We enrolled participants from two tertiary care centres who met classification criteria for SLE. Participants had prospectively collected clinical data and were genotyped on a multiethnic array. Un-genotyped single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were imputed, and ancestry was inferred using principal components (PCs). Our outcome was symptomatic ON confirmed by imaging. We completed time-to-ON and logistic regression of ON genome-wide association studies (GWASs) with covariates for sex, age of SLE diagnosis, five PCs for ancestry, corticosteroid use and selected SLE manifestations. We conducted separate analyses for cSLE and aSLE and meta-analysed results using inverse-variance weighting. Genome-wide significance was P  < 5 × 10−8. Results The study included 940 participants with SLE, 87% female and 56% with cSLE. ON was present in 7.6% (n  = 71). Median age of SLE diagnosis was 16.9 years (interquartile range [IQR]: 13.5, 29.3), with median follow-up of 8.0 years (IQR: 4.2, 15.7). Meta-GWAS of cSLE and aSLE time-to-ON of 4 431 911 SNPs identified a significant Chr.2 SNP, rs34118383 (minor allele frequency = 0.18), intronic to WIPF1 (hazard ratio = 3.2 [95% CI: 2.2, 4.8]; P  = 1.0 × 10−8). Conclusion We identified an intronic WIPF1 variant associated with a 3.2 times increased hazard for ON (95% CI: 2.2, 4.8; P   =  1.0 × 10−8) during SLE follow-up, independent of corticosteroid exposure. Aims: To investigate the beliefs and attitudes of intensive care unit (ICU) nurses and patients' family members towards an open visitation policy in the ICU in China and to explore the reasons that promote or hinder open visitation to improve visitation policy. Background: Open visitation policies are widely recommended in many countries. However, there are gaps between evidence and practice. Most ICUs in China still use a restrictive policy for family visits, which raises controversy. There are limited visiting times, and family visitors are not allowed to enter the ICU. Study Design: A multicentre survey was conducted in seven hospitals in China. The Beliefs and Attitudes towards Visitation in the Intensive Care Unit Questionnaire (BAVIQ) was administered to ICU nurses and patient families from 11 the ICUs of seven hospitals. A total of 275 questionnaires were completed and returned by ICU nurses and 139 by patients' family members. Results: Among nurses, the belief scale score was 2.87 ± 0.33 (range 2–4), and the attitude scale score was 5.53 ± 1.12 (range 2.33–7). The belief scale was divided into three subscales: nurses, patients, and patients' families. The subscale score for patients' families was the highest, and the nurses' subscale score was the lowest. Most (84.0%) of the nurses were satisfied with the current ICU visitation policy. The belief and attitude scores were 3.13 ± 0.39 (range 1.96–4) and 6.18 ± 1.20 (range 1.67–7), respectively, for family members. The scores of the three subscales, that is, patients, patients' families and nurses, were 3.13 ± 0.40, 3.26 ± 0.43, and 3.04 ± 0.49, respectively. Conclusion: Nurses' beliefs and attitudes towards implementing an open visitation policy in China are at a less positive level than those of patient family members. Relevance to Clinical Practice: The beliefs and attitudes of nurses towards open visitation policy in China need to be improved. Background: Prior studies on migrant workers have explored the effect of their subjective social status and job satisfaction on their mental health, respectively or combined, as well as how their subjective social status affects their job satisfaction. Nonetheless, few have accounted straightforwardly and holistically for the mechanism of interaction between subjective social status, job satisfaction and mental health amongst migrant workers. Aims: Taking migrant workers in China as the object of study, we intended to probe the longitudinal links between their subjective social status, job satisfaction and mental health, in particular, their job satisfaction as a longitudinal mediator therein. Method: Using the three-wave data from the 2014, 2016 and 2018 China Labour-force Dynamics Survey, we defined migrant workers as labourers aged 15 to 64 with agricultural hukou and engaged in non-agricultural work in urban areas. The final valid sample comprised 2,035 individuals. Latent growth models (LGMs) were applied to test the hypothesised relationships. Results: The LGMs based on bootstrapping showed that amongst migrant workers the subjective social status, job satisfaction and mental health tended overall to grow linearly and that the job satisfaction longitudinally mediated between the subjective social status and mental health. Background: Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) is the most common non-dental pain complaint in the maxillofacial region, which presents a variety of symptoms and signs, including temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and masticatory muscle pain, joint noise, tinnitus, headaches, irregular or restricted mandibular function, masticatory difficulty, and restricted mouth opening. When comes to the relationship between obesity and TMD, it has remained controversial and inconsistent, therefore, we first conducted this meta-analysis to estimate the unclear relationship between obesity and TMD. Methods: Searches were conducted in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library. Subjects were divided into five groups according to BMI level in this study, including the normal weight group: 18.5 ≤ BMI < 25, overweight group: 25 ≤ BMI < 30, obesity group: BMI ≥ 30, control group: BMI < 25, and overweight and obesity group: BMI ≥ 25. Statistics analyses were conducted using Stata (15.0). The number of PROSPERO was CRD42022368315. Results: Eight studies were included in this study, and six articles with a total of 74,056 participants were synthesized for meta-analysis. Compared to normal weight individuals, overweight and obesity together decreased the risk of TMD (OR = 0.66, 95% CI = 0.46–0.95), and it was significantly decreased by obesity alone (OR = 0.58). Moreover, it was lower in obesity compared with control subjects (OR = 0.83, 95% CI = 0.73–0.94). Furthermore, in overweight and obese individuals, it was much lower in obesity than in overweight (OR = 0.82, 95% CI = 0.71–0.94). Conclusions: Obesity is not a risk factor for TMD, and maybe a protective factor for TMD, of which patients with larger BMI are less likely to suffer from TMD pain. Background: Osteoporosis is a prevalent condition characterized by low bone density and increased risk of fractures, resulting in a significant healthcare burden. Previous research has suggested that serum ferritin levels may be related to the risk of developing osteoporosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between dietary iron intake and the development of osteoporosis. Methods: Using data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between 2005 and 2018, a total of 11,690 adults aged over 20 were evaluated. Bone mineral density (BMD) measurements of the femoral neck and lumbar spine were used to assess osteoporosis and osteopenia. Dietary iron intake was determined using food intake interviews and the Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies. Logistic regression models were applied to investigate the association between dietary iron consumption and osteopenia and osteoporosis. Results: After adjusting for sociodemographic factors, compared with those who had the first quartile (Q1) of dietary iron intake, the odds ratio (OR) for osteopenia across the quartiles of dietary iron intake levels was 0.88 (95%CI: 0.79–0.98), 0.80 (95%CI: 0.72–0.89), and 0.74 (95%CI: 0.67–0.83) for Q2, Q3, and Q4, respectively. And the OR for osteoporosis across the quartiles of dietary iron intake levels was 1.00, 0.77 (95%CI: 0.50–1.19), 0.54 (95%CI: 0.34–0.89), and 0.83 (95%CI: 0.54–1.29) for Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, respectively. Notably, the observed association was significant among females but not males. Conclusion: The risk of osteopenia/osteoporosis in females decreases with a moderate increase in dietary iron consumption. For females to preserve bone health, moderately increasing their dietary iron intake without overindulging should be seen as a key approach. Background: Orthognathic surgery has been performed with increasing frequency for the treatment of severe malocclusion, yet the postsurgical neuromuscular recovery of patients has been inadequately studied. Objective: To investigate the effect of short‐term and simple jaw motor training on accuracy and precision of jaw motor control in patients following orthodontic treatment and orthognathic surgery. Methods: Twenty patients who had completed preoperative orthodontics, 20 patients who had undergone bimaxillary orthognathic surgery and 20 age‐and‐gender‐matched healthy controls participated in the study. Participants were asked to perform 10 continuous jaw opening and finger lifting movements before and after a 30‐min motor training session. The variability in the amplitude of these simple movements was expressed as percentage in relation to the target position (accuracy – Daccu) and as coefficient of variation (precision – CVprec) to describe the motor performance. Furthermore, the changes in amplitude before and after training were measured in percentage. Results: Daccu and CVprec of simple jaw and finger movements significantly decreased after motor training (p ≤.018) in all groups. The relative changes in finger movements were higher than jaw movements (p <.001) but with no differences among the groups (p ≥.247). Conclusion: Both accuracy and precision of simple jaw and finger movements improved after short‐term motor training in all three groups, demonstrating the inherent potential for optimization of novel motor tasks. Finger movements improved more than jaw movements but with no differences between groups, suggesting that changes in occlusion and craniofacial morphology are not associated with impaired neuroplasticity or physiological adaptability of jaw motor function. Aim: To determine the associated factors of professional identity among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses during the COVID‐19 pandemic in China. Design: Multicentre cross‐sectional study. Methods: This study invited 348 ICU nurses in five hospitals in China from May to July 2020. Online self‐report questionnaires were adopted to collect their demographic and occupational characteristics, perceived professional benefits and professional identity. Based on univariate and multiple linear regression analysis, a path analysis was performed to determine the associated factors' effects on professional identity. Results: The mean score of professional identity was 102.38 ± 16.46. Perceived professional benefits, doctor recognition level and family support level were associated with ICU nurses' professional identity. The path analysis revealed that perceived professional benefits and doctor recognition level had direct effects on professional identity. In addition, doctor recognition level and family support level had indirect effects on professional identity through the mediation of perceived professional benefits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
