Using wind energy in the natural environment provides a promising solution for wireless sensor power supply for ecological, meteorological, environmental, and infrastructure monitoring. However, the uncertainty and disorder of natural wind restrict the further development of wind energy harvester systems and self-powered wireless sensor technology. Hence, this paper proposes a self-regulation blade wind energy harvester system (SBWEHS) for self-powered wireless monitoring sensors in remote field areas with power shortages. The system is mainly composed of three parts: wind harvesting mechanism, generator module, and energy storage module. The device can control the blade overlap ratio according to the wind speed while generating electricity to maximize the power coefficient. The system can control the blade's closure in bad weather to protect the device. Based on the computational fluid dynamics technology of Ansys Fluent software, this study evaluated the impact of wind speed and blade overlap ratio on the two-stage blades. Experiments revealed that when the overlap ratio of the blades is fixed at 0.2 and the wind speed is set at 16 m/s, the maximum average power will reach 0.79 W, which fulfills the power requirements of wireless sensors. These results illustrate that the SBWEHS can effectively supply power for wireless monitoring sensors, especially in remote natural environments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The development of wind energy has been observed for many years. Both construction firms and the scientific world are analyzing new design solutions, atmospheric conditions and the technical performance achieved. The main goal of this research is to evaluate the requirements that have to be met to design wind power stations that would be an optimal fit for the climatic conditions in Poland. This study combines the results of empirical studies on wind velocity distributions with the physical fundamentals of wind power station design. This paper presents modelling of the relationships between wind velocity distributions observed in Poland and technical requirements for wind power stations design. The wind velocities distributions for various locations in Poland are determined and expressed in Weibull distribution parameters. Theoretical computations concerning the dependence of wind power stations as function of wind speed and air's physical properties are presented. Renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power exhibit strong stochasticity and volatility, resulting in decreased power supply security and sustainability. A strategically optimized hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) is crucial for maintaining stable load operations and achieving sustainable energy development. This paper introduces an energy optimization management model for an independent HRES consisting of wind turbines, photovoltaic systems, diesel generators, and energy storage units. Operational strategies focus on energy storage-led loads following diesel generator-led load prioritizations. The model aims to optimize objectives to include economic, environmental, and power supply reliability indices. A dynamic adaptive parameter approach balances the parameters of the objective function at various instances. The optimal capacity allocation of the model is solved using the improved gray wolf optimization (IGWO) algorithm. This approach incorporates the golden sine strategy, the levy flight strategy, and the dynamic inverse learning strategy into the traditional GWO algorithm. Analyzing different test functions, evaluation metrics, and actual load data indicates that the proposed algorithm excels in global optimization capabilities and search speeds. Renewable energy infrastructures, such as wind and solar farms, require land on which they can be deployed. While politics and conflicts over accessing land for renewables are well documented, the role, conditions and potential agency of landownership have been often overlooked or oversimplified as a powerful terrain in the field of renewables development. In this paper, we explore the relationship between landed property and community renewable energy projects. In particular, we focus on how landed property variously influences the development modes of renewables by acting as a mediator, barrier and enabler for different types of wind energy projects. We show how this takes place through appropriation of rents in processes of assetisation and value grabbing by landowners. In this way, value grabbing acts as a vital intermediary process to understand green grabbing and wider processes of capital accumulation through renewables. We draw on insights from the Netherlands and Scotland to illuminate different mechanisms, social and historical conditions, and policies through which landed property constrains or enables community wind energy projects. The paper finishes by sketching out some alternative ways of allocating land for the deployment of renewable energy projects, which could help shift the balance of power in favour of community energy developments. The government has set an ambitious target of renewable energy development in Malaysia. As a promising renewable energy source, wind energy plays an important role in the Malaysia renewable energy roadmap. Compared to onshore wind energy, offshore wind resources with better quality can be provided in the areas away from the coast, which has greater potential to contribute to electricity generation. Wind and bathymetry conditions are two important factors that determine the feasibility and economics of offshore wind turbines. In this paper, an investigation is conducted on wind and bathymetry conditions around Malaysia. The data source mainly originates from the Global Wind Atlas. The conditions of the coastal areas in different states and federal territories of both Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia are analysed, with a specific focus on wind speed, wind energy density, and bathymetry conditions in high-wind-speed regions. The data and survey are verified and compared with the past published literature. This paper aims to investigate the wind and bathymetry conditions around Malaysia, assess the potential of offshore wind energy, discuss the feasibility of offshore wind turbines, and provide references for offshore wind development in Malaysia. This paper performs a technoeconomic analysis of the wind power potential and evaluates the cost of wind power generation in Evodoula, comparing two methods, the conventional method and the uncertainty method based on a comparative spatiotemporal approach using the geographic information system (GIS) software tool. This study is based on satellite wind data measured at 10 m above ground level (AGL) over a 40-year period (1980-2019), by the meteorological service NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The main objectives are to obtain an appropriate design for a proven optimal location and to assess the viability of wind power at Evodoula. For this type of study, there is little literature available. The optimization of an onshore wind farm and deployment in the wind energy development interest area (ZIDEE) is carried out to obtain a minimum and parsimonious discounted cost production unitary (CPU) of the electricity produced. The results showed that in Okok, a location with a large energy deficit, an onshore wind farm with an electricity generation capacity of 12.5 MW with 5 NORDEX N100-2.5MW wind turbines would have a total energy production (TEP) of about 64.0254825 TWh and a selling price of electricity that would be 0.0034 CAD$/kWh, which is very low compared to the utility price (about 98% cheaper). The total cost of the wind farm would be about $11 million, with a net present cost of about $218 million. The annual profit generated by the wind farm would be over $6 billion. The return on investment (ROI) of the project is estimated at 2880.882%. The constructed onshore wind farm would avoid CO2 emission at over 11 Mt CO 2 , eq /year as the energy generated is from the atmosphere. The wind farm would realize an average annual cash flow estimated at nearly $30 million after 20 years of operation. These savings would allow the installation of CO2 capture systems in conventional power plants. In addition, the analysis of uncertainties and risks was identified and quantified to estimate the confidence levels of the project development results. The risks have been assessed, and we recommend that the total uncertainty of the project is around 15%. The energy values in P 75 and P 90 are 10.08% and 19.22%, respectively, lower than the energy value in P 50 of 11.60 GWh/An. Finally, the main policy recommendations for an inclusive design process are highlighted. The contribution of this study is to assist policy makers in making appropriate decisions in the development and implementation of energy and environmental policy in Cameroon and in many continental areas. The large-scale centralized development of wind and PV power resources is the key to China's dual carbon targets and clean energy transition. The vast desert–Gobi–wilderness areas in northern and western China will be the best choice for renewable energy development under multiple considerations of resources endowment, land use constraints, technical conditions, and economic level. It is urgent to carry out a quantitative wind and PV resource assessment study in desert–Gobi–wilderness areas. This paper proposed a multi-dimensional assessment method considering the influence of the power grid and transportation infrastructure distributions, which includes three research levels, namely, the technical installed capacity, the development potential, and the development cost. Nine main desert–Gobi–wilderness areas were assessed. The wind and PV technical installed capacities were 0.6 TW and 10.7 TW, and the total development potentials were over 0.12 TW and 1.2 TW, with the full load hours of 2513 and 1759 and the average development costs of 0.28 CNY/kWh and 0.20 CNY/kWh. Finally, this paper proposed the meteorological–electrical division distribution. A case study in the Kubuqi and Qaidam Deserts was carried out on wind–wind and wind–PV collaborative development across different meteorological–electrical divisions, which can reduce by 58% the long-term energy storage capacity and decrease the total system LCOE from 0.488 CNY/kWh to 0.445 CNY/kWh. With the development of the energy structure of the power system, the characterization of the observed oscillation in the power system has steadily evolved. With the increasingly high penetration of distributed energy sources and power electronic devices, such as the photovoltaic, wind power and charging pile, the basic mechanism, frequency ranges and propagation of oscillation would become more dynamic and complex. Therefore, the traditional parameter estimation, as well as the suppression methods would also suffer from dynamic oscillations. To this end, this paper first investigates the oscillation propagation and typical events caused by the oscillations. Next, the oscillation model estimation method including the model‐based and data‐driven based methods is discussed. The benefits and difficulties of various parameter estimate techniques are highlighted. Under this context, the validity and limitations of the current power system stability are summarized. Furthermore, the different oscillation damping and mitigation measures are compared, and the major adaptability and limitations are listed for the specific application scenarios. The European Union's climate policy aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. One of the instruments for achieving these climate goals is the development of offshore wind energy. Unfortunately, Poland, as one of the few European Union countries with access to the sea, does not have offshore wind farms yet. The purpose of this article is to determine the importance of offshore wind energy for the development of Poland based on the example of two sea regions: the West Pomeranian and Pomeranian Voivodeships. This article uses the input–output method to determine the economic effects of offshore wind power. The region's share in the supply chain was determined based on the location of the offshore wind energy sector. A comparative analysis with the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm in France made it possible to show the differences between the studied locations. The supply chain share of the regions surveyed was 2.28% and 6.00% in the CAPEX phase and 5.98% and 8.23% in the OPEX phase. The annual average global value in the CAPEX phase at the country level was EUR 2793 million, and at the regional level, EUR 243 million and EUR 663 million. In the OPEX phase, the corresponding values are EUR 2106 million, EUR 223 million and EUR 663 million. The average annual employment in the CAPEX phase at the national level amounted to 26,323 jobs and at the regional level, 1953 and 5804. In the OPEX phase, employment amounted to 4790, 558 and 751 jobs, respectively. On the other hand, the average annual value added in the CAPEX phase at the national level was EUR 1221 million, and at the regional level, it was EUR 106 million and EUR 290 million. In the OPEX phase, it was EUR 920 million, EUR 97 million and EUR 239 million, respectively. While not all of the findings are conclusive, in general, the domestic offshore wind industry has weaker economic linkages and lower wage levels than the location adopted for comparison. It uses more labour-intensive economic sectors with lower OPEX value added. The results of the analyses presented in this paper are of crucial importance not only for Poland, as their advantage is the possibility to present, from an economic point of view, the profitability of this type of investment in general. Wind energy expansion across rural areas interacts with various interests at the local level, generating multiple reactions within communities. The Eólica del Sur wind farm implementation pathway in Mexico is a paragon of different positions vis‐à‐vis this industry after trying to install 132 wind turbines in other towns since 2006. This paper argues that there is a bias in studies of the politics of wind energy development in favour of oppositional voices, as opposed to groups that endorse wind energy expansion or that have stakes in the sector but neither support nor oppose wind projects per se. Based on fieldwork conducted over three years and semi‐structured interviews with Eólica del Sur stakeholders, the paper argues that different responses to wind energy are linked to contrasting ownership claims over land in the region and competing notions of the institutions that should legitimize these claims. In this paper, a new concept of extra-durable and sustainable wind turbine blades is presented. The two critical materials science challenges of the development of wind energy now are the necessity to prevent the degradation of wind turbine blades for several decades, and, on the other side, to provide a solution for the recyclability and sustainability of blades. In preliminary studies by DTU Wind, it was demonstrated that practically all typical wind turbine blade degradation mechanisms (e.g., coating detachment, buckling, spar cap/shell adhesive joint degradation, trailing edge failure, etc.) have their roots in interface degradation. The concept presented in this work includes the development of bio-inspired dual-mechanism-based interface adhesives (combining mechanical interlocking of fibers and chemical adhesion), which ensures, on the one side, extra-strong attachment during the operation time, and on the other side, possible adhesive joint separation for re-use of the blade parts. One of the main factors for changes in the structure of the energy mix in Poland is the development of renewable energy sources, in particular wind generation. In 2009–2020, the installed capacity of wind sources in Poland increased more than ninefold. At the same time, new legislation significantly curbed the development of onshore wind farms. Further development of wind energy in Poland will rely largely on offshore wind farms. The current state of development of wind power in Poland allows for analyses of the onshore part of wind energy development in Poland. The paper aims to conduct a detailed analysis of the Polish wind sector from an electric power generation perspective. This article presents a comprehensive discussion of the development of onshore wind generation in Poland. In particular, analyses address the production of electric power from wind. Various time horizons are taken into account, as well as the correlation of wind generation with demand for power in the Polish Power System (PPS). The results of the analysis indicate a high variability of wind generation throughout the month or year. The largest wind generation occurred during the night valley, which makes it difficult to operate the power system. In the winter months, wind generation is much greater than in the summer months. Monthly average values of the capacity factor for onshore wind farms (WFs) vary from 0.14 in August to 0.48 in February. Moreover, the coefficient of determination R2 close to zero shows a lack of correlation between offshore wind power generation and real power demand in the PPS. The studied high variability of wind generation in PPS can be mitigated by the wide use of electricity storage systems. This paper deals with improving the feed-in tariff policy for green energy advancement in Ukraine's households based on assessing the economic efficiency of investment project implementation under the current state support mechanisms. This study was conducted for solar and wind power plants with different installed capacities. The Levelized Cost of Electricity and the payback period for such power plants were calculated considering the ongoing feed-in tariffs and discount rates determined by various equity and debt capital ratios. The results showed that the state support provides attractive payback periods for solar and wind power plants with an installed capacity of ≥30 kW. In comparison, 5 kW solar power plants and wind power plants with a capacity of up to 10 kW are not paid off during the power plants' lifecycle. It confirmed that the ongoing energy policy in Ukraine's residential sector is still designed to obtain profits by the owners of generating facilities by selling the excess electricity. In the meantime, its main goal—providing households energy independence—has been levelled. To resolve the issues caused by such a state support model, a methodical approach to improve the feed-in tariff calculation is proposed. Output instability is one of the important constraints limiting the large-scale application of renewable energy. The development of comprehensive energy systems can effectively improve energy utilization efficiency, but there is still a problem of randomness in renewable energy output. The paper conducts research on the uncertainty of distributed energy output and load, constructs a comprehensive energy system optimization model that takes into account the robustness of bilevel programming, and solves the model using the firefly algorithm. The calculation results show that optimizing uncertainty can significantly reduce the actual operating costs of the system, with a maximum reduction of 14.43%. The disruption of fossil fuel supply chains due to the war in Ukraine has resulted in the need for an urgent reorganisation of the energy supply system, the cost of which has created a substantial increase in electricity prices in many markets. In light of the above, the need for the development of a renewable energy market has become stronger than ever; hence, the authors of this study have oriented their efforts towards investigating the development of the renewable energy market in countries bordering the line of armed conflict in Ukraine, i.e., Poland—strongly dependent on traditional forms of energy production—and Lithuania. The primary objective of the paper is to review the literature on wind energy, which is necessary to establish the current role of this energy dimension in the renewable energy market in the energy systems of Poland and Lithuania. Therefore, this review paper is oriented towards a review and evaluation of the available thematic literature and industry studies, as well as conclusions related to the number and direction of research topics in the area of the explored issues. The basic finding of this review is that the reviewed literature and studies are most strongly oriented towards a general assessment of the ongoing energy transition in the world, in which the thread of the assessment of the energy situation in Poland and Lithuania, including the thread of the analysis of wind energy, is part of broader assessments, most often regarding EU countries. The wind energy of the countries included in the scope of the review is not discussed comprehensively. The gap identified in this respect relates in particular to the aspect of wind energy development potential concerning solutions targeted at the individual consumer. In quantitative terms, studies addressing wind energy in Lithuania represent a lower percentage of the thematic literature acquired for the review. In the area of noted niches, the need for research and analysis is recommended to increase the information supply for developing the renewable energy market in Poland and Lithuania. In doing so, it is important to explore the technical and technological solutions (with a focus on the individual customer) and the economic aspects of wind installations from a micro and macro perspective. In addition, there is a lack of sufficient studies revealing the position of public opinion regarding the development of this dimension of the RES market and the direction of its changes. This is an important problem—particularly in Poland, where the so-called distance law constantly blocks the development of this dimension of RES and where the need to develop energy from renewable sources is particularly urgent. Renewable energy is regarded as an effective method to alleviate environmental pollution and accelerate the green transition in China. This paper systematically investigates the impact of financial inclusion on renewable energy demand by using S-GMM model based on provincial data in the green finance era. This paper also analyzes the asymmetry, heterogeneity, and mediating mechanism in the nexus between financial inclusion and renewable energy demand, and highlights the following findings: (1) Improved financial inclusion can promote renewable energy development in China and present the characteristics of green finance; (2) the impact of financial inclusion on renewable energy demand is asymmetric and heterogeneous; specifically, this impact is much higher in northern China and the regions with higher renewable energy development; and (3) wind and photovoltaic power generation are effective mediators between financial inclusion and renewable energy industry, while the mediation effects of hydropower and nuclear power are not significant. New evidence in this study is presented for the achievement of green transition in China, as well as practical policy implications for improving financial inclusion and increasing renewable energy consumption. In recent years, renewable energy has received extensive attention due to its advantages of sustainability, economy, and environmental protection. However, with the rapid development of renewable energy, the problem of curtailment is becoming increasingly serious. Studying the calculation method and establishing a quantitative evaluation system of renewable energy accommodation capacity are important means to solve this problem. This paper comprehensively considers the factors affecting the accommodation of renewable energy, establishes a accommodation calculation model with the maximum accommodation of renewable energy as the optimization target based on the time series production simulation method, and uses the hybrid particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to solve it. The model is verified with historical data such as load, photovoltaic (PV), and wind power in a certain region throughout the year. The experimental results verify the rationality of the renewable-energy accommodation-capacity model proposed in this paper and the correctness of the theoretical analysis. The technological development in wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) places emphasis on the injection of wind power into the grid in a smoother and robust way. Sliding mode control (SMC) has proven to be a popular solution for the grid-connected WECS due to its robust nature. This paper reviews the enhancement trends in the integer-order SMC (IOSMC) and fractional-order SMC (FOSMC) schemes reported in reputed journals over the last two decades. This work starts with a mathematical description of the wind turbine, generators, grid, and SMC and its variants available in literature. A comprehensive literature review is tabulated that includes the proposed errors, sliding surfaces, typologies, and major outcomes. Moreover, a comparative analysis of the integer-order and fractional-order SMC and its variants is also presented in this paper. This paper will provide insight for the researcher working in the WECS and will serve them in the selection and exploration of the most appropriate control schemes for quality wind power extraction. The concise mathematical proofs of the IOSMC, FOSMC and their variants will also serve the researchers in selecting the relevant sliding surfaces control laws for their research tasks. This paper also provides a comparative analysis of IOSMC, FOSMC, and fuzzy-FOSMC in terms of chattering reduction, robustness, and computational complexities using mathematical theories, simulation carried out in Matlab/Simulink, and a processor in the loop (PIL)-based experimental environment. In recent years, with the continuous development of new energy, how to efficiently use wind energy has received more and more market attention. Due to cost advantages, the development of small wind turbines is accelerating. Among them, the design and research of the airfoil design and research of the lift vertical axis wind turbine has matured, but because of the aerodynamic characteristics of the lift airfoil structure, it is impossible to start itself at low wind speed, resulting in the waste of low wind speed energy. Although the drag wind turbine has good self-starting performance, the wind energy utilization efficiency in the high-speed state is inefficient. Each has its own unique shortcomings, which directly affects the marketization of small wind turbines. In order to solve these problems, this paper presents a drag-lift hybrid type wind turbine structure based on an NACA0018 symmetrical airfoil, which can adaptively change the blade shape. This design can keep the blade in the drag shape under static and low speed conditions, and adaptively change the lift shape with the increase of speed. In addition, through the research method of CFD numerical simulation combined with physical experiments, the proposed wind turbine design is studied and analyzed from multiple angles. At the same time, the "6DOF + dynamic grid" setting is used to study the influence of the opening angle factor of the drag-lift hybrid blade on the self-starting performance, and the study shows that the design of the drag-lift hybrid blade proposed in this paper has a higher self-starting torque and lower starting wind speed than the traditional lifting blade, and it is observed that the drag-lift hybrid blade has the best self-starting performance when the opening angle of the blade is 80°. At the same time, the problem of switching the blade morphology of the drag-lift hybrid blade is also analyzed, along with how to use the spring to control all this adaptively. In order to better analyze the advantages of the drag-lift hybrid design proposed in this paper, a wind tunnel test was also carried out using the physical model, and the relationship between the leaf tip speed ratio and the wind energy utilization rate was obtained, which intuitively showed the improvement of the wind energy utilization rate of the drag-lift hybrid design compared with the traditional lift blade. In the context of carbon neutrality target, renewable energy sources have been transforming from "supplementary energy" to "main energy", which have promoted the green and low-carbon transition of global energy supply system. In-depth analyzing the spatial patterns and driving mechanisms of renewable energy expansion are of significance for optimizing the spatial layout of clean power, and avoiding the phenomenon of wind and solar power curtailment. In this paper, we proposed an ensemble learning model to examine the nonlinear effects of physical geography, resource endowment, and socio-economic factors on solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity at the prefecture-level city scale in China. Using the city-level multi-sources geospatial big data, we extensively collected a total of 175 related explanatory variables and cumulative installed capacity of solar PV power for 295 prefecture-level cities of China. The recursive feature elimination algorithm (SVM-REF) is firstly used to extract the optimal feature subset of urban PV capacity from multi-dimensional features variables. Furthermore, three advanced machine learning models (random forest, decision tree, extreme gradient boosting) are developed to identify the key influencing factors and nonlinear driving effect of urban solar PV power expansion in China. The results show that China's PV installation capacity is highly concentrated in Northern and Northwest parts of China, with the occupancy over 70% in 2019. Moreover, the XGBoost model has the best prediction accuracy (R2 = 0.97) among three methods. We also found that total amount of urban water resources, average solar radiation, and population density are the most important controlling factors for urban solar PV capacity expansion in China, with contribution of 35.6%, 17.7%, and 13.3%, respectively. We suggested that urban solar PV layout mode in China is recommended to gradually shift from resource orientation to the "resource-environment-demand" comprehensive orientation. The pitch control system has a profound impact on the development of wind energy, and yet a delay or non-minimum phase can weaken its performance. Thus, there is a strong incentive to enhance pitch control technology in order to counteract the negative effects of unidentified delays and non-minimum phase characteristics. To reduce the complexity of the parameter-tuning process and improve the performance of the system, in this paper, we propose a novel control method for wind turbine pitch angle with time delays. Specifically, the proposed control method is state-space PIDD2, which is based on internal model control (IMC) and the open-loop system step response. Then, considering the tracking, disturbance rejection and measurement noise, the proposed controller is verified through simulations. The simulation results demonstrate that the state-space PIDD2 (SS-PIDD2) can provide a trade-off between robustness, time domain performance and measurement noise attenuation and effectively improve pitch control performance in contrast to series PID and PI control methods. With the strong advancement of the global carbon reduction strategy and the rapid development of renewable energy, compressed air energy storage (CAES) technology has received more and more attention for its key role in large-scale renewable energy access. This paper summarizes the coupling systems of CAES and wind, solar, and biomass energies from the perspective of system topology, and points out the advantages and limitations of each system. It is shown that the coupling of wind energy and CAES is mainly combined in series and in parallel, and sometimes part of the wind power can be converted into thermal energy when coupled to CAES. The coupling between solar heat and CAES is an important form of coupling between solar energy and CAES. Solar-heat-coupled CAES mainly uses solar energy to heat expander inlet air. The coupling forms of solar energy and CAES are based on various CAES forms, various heat heating sequences, reheating, bottom cycle, and other factors. The combination of biomass and CAES is generally based on biomass gasification power generation technology. In the future, a wind–solar–CAES multiple coupling system is expected to become a promising large-scale form for the utilization of renewable energy, and this integrated system has great potential as a system configuration, but has some technical challenges. Summary: The intermittent, random, and uncertain characteristics of the energy harvested from solar or wind are threatening the commercial efficiency and reliability of power system. With the continuous expansion of renewable energy installation scale, it has become a new challenge to improve the level of renewable energy accommodation and reduce the rate of renewable energy abandonment. Power system production simulation provides basis for the planning and development of renewable energy to assess the capacity of renewable energy accommodation in the power grid accurately. Traditional power system production simulation ignores sequential variation characteristics of load and new energy power output, thus bringing non‐negligible errors. Moreover, most reported studies ignore the impact of power source location on the level of renewable energy accommodation. This paper is therefore prepared with the objective to establish a time‐series production simulation model of multi‐energy power system and carry out multipoint layout planning and design of multi‐energy power supply. To achieve this objective, extensive literature reviews are conducted with more attention given to recent studies on the field. On the basis of the traditional production simulation model, this paper adds the power flow constraints of the transmission network, and proposes a time‐series production simulation model. A multipoint layout planning and design method for multi‐energy power systems is proposed to give full play to the synergistic effects of natural resources, to achieve optimal resource allocation, and to provide a theoretical basis for improving the consumption of wind and renewable energy. The method is simulated with the actual meteorological and operation data of a province power grid in Northwest China. Iran is situated in a wind belt. However, the installed wind capacity in Iran is around 300 MW, which is minuscule compared with the global 651 GW capacity as of 2021. Using novel data from wind trackers across Iran, the paper's findings show immense potential for wind energy in Iran from a technical perspective. While attractive policies are already in place to incentivize wind energy development in Iran, the feed-in tariff (FiT) for wind energy has dropped to around 3 cents per kWh because of the sharp depreciation of the Iranian rial between 2018 and 2020. This paper shows that there is no economic justification for the development of wind farms in Iran at such low FiTs. A minimum FiT of 12 cents per kWh is required to reinvigorate Iran's wind energy industry investments. Given the extremely tight fiscal space of the Iranian government due to the sanctions and consequently reduced oil exports, the paper argues that a mere 2.14% of Iran's wasteful fossil fuel subsidies are sufficient to provide a FiT of 12 cents per kWh for wind energy to meet 5% of the country's total electricity demand. Remote community initiatives for renewable energy are rapidly emerging across Canada but with varying numbers, success rates, and strategies. To meet low-carbon transition goals, the need to coordinate technology deployment and long-term policy to guide the adoption is critical. Renewable resources such as wind, solar, hydro, and biomass can provide energy at a subsidized cost, create sustainable infrastructure, and provide new economic viability in social value integration. The renewable energy transition is crucial to Canada in sustaining remote and indigenous communities by providing local, clean, and low-carbon-emission energy for heat, power, and possibly transportation. This paper identified 635 renewable resources projects deployed to improve and increase electricity supply. To an extent, balancing demand within the remote and indigenous communities of Canada and highlighting sustainable renewable energy development through ownership participation within the communities is achievable before 2050 and beyond through energy efficiency and the social value of energy. Most of the countries in South-East Europe primarily depend on fossil fuels to cover their energy demands. The paper discusses the future perspective on wind energy in the country, where over 90% of energy is generated in coal-fired thermal power plants. Given the energy crisis, that has gripped the world, the possibility of covering the increased energy demand is being studied, especially during the winter. Based on current trends on energy generation, with just symbolic participation of wind, hydro and solar energy, the potential for maximization of the use of wind energy is considered, which means the use of each identified adequate location throughout the country. The main advantage here is that the maximum energy produced by wind is during winter when demand increases. This is important to know that Kosovo faces significant heating problems and its demand is covered with electricity. Analyzes prove that the country has a generous wind capacity, which reduces to a certain extent the need to import and even enables the export of energy under certain conditions. The potential installation capacity in Kosovo is 510.9 MW, of which 32.4 MW is currently in operating conditions. From the analysis made for the current wind farm in operation, the plant capacity factor is 31.8%. The study of the results indicates a direct correlation between the increase in load during the winter season and the electricity production by wind farms, thereby, the energy demand can be sufficiently covered. An optimization model which determines optimal spatial allocation of wind (WPPs) and PV power plants (PVPPs) for an energy independent power system is developed in this paper. Complementarity of the natural generation profiles of WPPs and PVPPs, as well as differences between generation profiles of WPPs and PVPPs located in different regions, gives us opportunity to optimize the generation capacity structure and spatial allocation of renewable energy sources (RES) in order to satisfy the energy needs while alleviating the total flexibility requirements in the power system. The optimization model is based on least squared error minimization under constraints where the error represents the difference between total wind and solar generation and the referent consumption profile. This model leverages between total energy and total power requirements that flexibility resources in the considered power system need to provide in the sense that the total balancing energy minimization implicitly bounds the power imbalances over the considered time period. Bounding the power imbalances is important for minimizing investment costs for additional flexibility resources. The optimization constraints bound the installed power plant capacity in each region according to the estimated technically available area and force the total energy production to equal the targeted energy needs. The proposed methodology is demonstrated through the example of long-term RES planning development for complete decarbonization of electric energy generation in Serbia. These results could be used as a foundation for the development of the national energy strategy by serving as a guidance for defining capacity targets for regional capacity auctions in order to direct the investments in wind and solar power plants and achieve transition to dominantly renewable electricity production. To promote the consumption and development of new and green energy sources, we propose an economically optimal dispatch model to simulate virtual power plants (VPPs) in parks considering low-carbon objectives based on a dualcarbon background. First, individual models involved in the optimal dispatch of VPPs are introduced. A two-stage operation process of electricity-to-hydrogen transformation and hydrogen methanation of power-to-gas equipment is refined and analysed. Unstable wind power is converted into hydrogen and supplied to the hydrogen load during the electrolysis of the water-tohydrogen stage in conjunction with the development of hydrogen energy demands. Second, to minimise the sum of operating and carbon emission costs, an optimal dispatch model utilised by the virtual power plant considering a low-carbon objective is established. A simulation of the calculation case shows that the proposed model can achieve efficient energy utilisation and improved economic and carbon costs for a VPP in the park. Finally, a sensitivity analysis of the system cost is conducted by adding weighting coefficients; the optimal range of weighting coefficients for the VPP in the park proposed in this paper are derived for reference by considering economic benefits and environmental protection. Onshore wind energy development is often delayed or even prevented by local resistance. Against this backdrop, we discuss financial participation as a measure to promote local acceptance by positively influencing the perceived experience of justice. Building on the concept of energy justice, this paper investigates the extent to which different forms of financial participation are suitable for better distributing costs and benefits, creating opportunities for participation, and examining who can participate financially. In addition to a comprehensive literature review, interviewswere conducted with wind turbine planners and operators. These show that stakeholders engage in financial participation to different degrees across different projects and that the preferred form of participation varies from one region to another. Moreover, no model of financial participation appears to be suited to address all dimensions of energy justice, as all models are characterised by certain advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, the availability of financial participation options alone is unlikely to increase local acceptance. To achieve the goal of 'Net-zero Europe' by 2050, the European Union (EU) has set up detailed policies in the fields of energy and climate. This paper summarizes the main characteristics of relevant policies in the EU and UK and their implications for China by reviewing these policies in the achievement of the carbon neutrality goal and other goals in the energy and climate fields. The characteristics of these energy and climate policies include: ① Top-down and bottom-up approaches are adopted to distribute the EU' s overall emission reduction targets to member states in accordance with the principle of fairness, and each member state formulates and adjusts its own goals to ensure the realization of the overall goals. ② Detailed transition plans are formulated for the power, industry, transportation, and building sectors; importance is attached to the application of new and renewable energy technologies such as solar, wind, and hydrogen energy; specific goals are set concerning coal power transition, nuclear energy development, energy efficiency improvement, carbon capture and storage, electrification, and building renovations; and the importance of energy security in transition planning is stressed. ③ A sound and mature emissions trading system and a fair transition mechanism are established to support the realization of the transition goals, and developing countries are helped to reduce emissions through technical dialogues and climate financing. To reach peak carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutrality, China should develop relevant roadmaps at national, sectoral, and provincial levels and strengthen R&D of key decarbonization technologies. With the proposal of the "double carbon" goal, the large-scale development of new energy has spawned the development of green card market. It is urgent to study and explore the formation mechanism of on grid electricity price suitable for new energy power generation under the "double carbon" goal. Therefore, this paper studies the on grid price mechanism of new energy power stations considering the market environment. Firstly, the cost structure of photovoltaic power generation and wind power generation is analyzed, and the least squares support vector mechanism (LS-SVM) of quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) is used to build the cost prediction model of new energy power generation. Then, considering the coupling relationship of carbon market, electricity market and green card market, the income model of new energy power stations is constructed. Furthermore, the price mechanism under incomplete competition based on Bayesian game and the price mechanism under perfect competition based on bargaining game are designed. Despite sustained interest in spatial planning approaches for steering renewable energy development, the effect of these practices remains poorly understood. This paper addresses this knowledge deficit through comparative analysis of the effects of spatial planning approaches on wind energy deployment in Italy and the UK. Our approach elucidates the different roles that spatial planning approaches can perform using a "modes of governing" framework that, innovatively, recognizes the unavoidable compromises involved in their construction. Several distinctive findings emerge. First, governments deploy spatial planning approaches with different governance purposes, thus explaining why the effects on RE outcomes can be ambiguous. Second, many of the challenges that beset spatial planning approaches arise not from technical-methodological issues but from difficult-to-resolve governance challenges of cross-scalar coordination. Third, we show that the efficacy of spatial planning approaches in shaping RE deployment is contextual in nature, reflecting how far their inherent compromises are accepted by key actors. The aim of the article is to identify problems related to the siting of wind farms, both those that have arisen as a result of recent legislative revisions and those arising from social developments in Poland. In 2022 a map defining 'exclusion zones' around wind turbines, i.e., areas where residential development was prohibited, was released in Poland. It was only then that many territorial governments realised the scale of the problems generated by the entry into force of the 2016 Wind Farm Act. It turned out that this group of municipalities included towns that might suffer some consequences despite the fact that there are no or few wind farms in their area. The aim of this paper is to identify towns and cities where more than one quarter of the area is land within the H10 zones, where the construction of wind farms is banned, if their distance from the nearest building or from the boundary of a national park is less than ten times the height of the turbine mast. The example of the town and rural municipality of Darłowo shows that in the early phase of their construction in Poland, wind turbines were perceived positively and did not give rise to conflicts. It was only after some time, as existing wind farms started to be expanded and new ones built, that protests emerged. The arguments of the parties to the conflict focused mainly on economic considerations: profits for the municipality versus losses for the residents neighbouring the wind turbines, such as barriers to the development of agritourism. The conflicts were fuelled and prolonged by irregularities in the municipality's planning documents and a poor flow of information about planned investments. In 2022, The Council of Ministers adopted a draft amendment to the Wind Farm Investment Act. Pumped storage technology plays a crucial role in achieving balance in power systems and enhancing the stability of energy systems. Scientific planning can help optimize the operation of power systems, promote the development of renewable energy, and conserve energy. This paper addresses the capacity planning problem of pumped storage stations in hybrid operation systems considering wind power uncertainty. A comprehensive decision-making method is proposed, based on the Delphi method, interval intuitionistic fuzzy theory, grey relational theory, entropy weight method, and prospect theory. This method comprehensively evaluates decision alternatives by considering various factors such as the uncertainty of qualitative indicators, the interrelationships between indicators, and the impacts of different risk environments. The test system in this paper is conducted on a hybrid wind-thermal-pump storage output model based on the IEEE 30-bus system. The optimal capacity planning scheme determined by the proposed method is 190 MW when decision-makers are risk-neutral or risk-averse, and 200 MW when they are risk-appetite. Subsequently, the case study verifies the impact of different load levels and proportions of wind power access on the optimal decision-making scheme, and compares it with decision-making method such as principal component analysis, technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution, and a combined method of Pythagorean fuzzy theory and cumulative prospect theory, validating feasibility and effectiveness. With a high proportion of renewable distributed generation and time-varying load connected to the distribution network, great challenges have appeared in the reactive power optimization control of the active distribution networks. This paper first introduces the characteristics of active distribution networks, the mechanism and research status of wind power, photovoltaic, and other renewable distributed generators, and time-varying loads participating in reactive power and voltage optimization. Then, the paper summarizes the methods of reactive power optimization and voltage regulation of active distribution network, including multi-timescale voltage optimization, coordinated optimization of network reconfiguration and reactive power optimization, coordinated optimization of active and reactive power optimization based on model predictive control, hierarchical and zoning control of reactive power, and voltage and power electronic switch voltage regulation. The pros and cons of the reactive power optimization algorithms mentioned above are summarized. In recent years, the development of renewable energy sources (RESs) and their integration with the conventional power network have increased significantly. Due to the power grid transformation brought about by the large penetration of power electronics converter‐based RESs such as wind and solar photovoltaic (PV), the operation and control of the interconnected power system has become a challenging task with respect to sustaining its stability and reliability. Power systems are confronted by several new stability issues because the dynamic behavior of converter‐interfaced renewable sources differs from conventional generation. In this respect, static synchronous compensator (STATCOM), a shunt connected flexible AC transmission system (FACTS), is recognized as a fundamental solution for maintaining power system stability. This paper presents a thorough and state‐of‐the‐art review of STATCOM control in wind‐ and/or PV‐interfaced power systems for enhancing system performance by addressing key stability issues related to rotor angle stability, voltage stability, and resonance stability. A comprehensive analysis of various control techniques of STATCOM based on conventional, adaptive, nonlinear, predictive, robust, and coordinated control and soft computing techniques is provided. Furthermore, the function of the grid‐side converter of the wind/PV plant as a STATCOM is also evaluated. Finally, the shortcomings of existing research are highlighted, current control challenges are presented, and several topics for future research are suggested. Impact assessment can play an important role in global energy transition, delivering knowledge to identify and manage the impacts of renewable energy projects. Yet, there are enduring concerns about IA's efficacy for renewable energy development. Based on content analysis of IA applications for wind energy development in Canada, this paper examines the environmental and social impacts typically assessed across wind energy projects and the mitigation solutions proposed. Results indicate considerable imbalance between biophysical versus social impacts, including mitigation solutions. IAs include far more solutions for managing biophysical impacts than social ones, with impact-to-mitigation ratios of 1:4.3 and 1:1.3 respectively. Most mitigations focus on impact minimisation, followed by avoidance, and are often vague and imprecise regarding the timing, methods of implementation, and responsibility. Notwithstanding common impacts, mitigation actions that were common across projects were too vague or imprecise to support transferable practice to find efficiencies in assessment. Improved understanding the impacts of renewable energy projects and mitigation solutions, and learning from one project to the next, are foundational to advancing the role of IA the transition to renewable energy. Wind turbine tower (WTT) is a vital part of wind energy development, which gains huge momentum globally over the past decades. In this study, an ingenious solution is provided with the proposed performance-based design framework for the WTTs. To represent the performance of the wind projects, an intuitive variable, i.e., the expected lifetime profit, is considered as the performance index. The fragility functions were used to probabilistically incorporate the uncertainties from the characteristics of natural hazards, the structural capacity estimations, the variations in geometric irregularities of towers, etc. The lifetime profit were roughly estimated based on the structural performance associated with the existing economic data collected from the current WTT projects. Furthermore, with a hypothetical case study, this paper presents a solution to improve the structural performance using the proposed methodology. The influences of the initial costs as well as the operation and maintenance costs on the profit were also investigated. This paper presents the application of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) for evaluating what technologies using renewable energy sources (RES) for electricity production have the chance to develop in Poland under the current socio-economic conditions. First, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used to determine the weights of the optimization criteria. Five main criteria and 30 sub-criteria were identified. Next, the authors modified numerical taxonomy (NT) to rank eight RES technologies (such as onshore and offshore wind farms, photovoltaics, or biogas plants). The results show that offshore wind farms are the RES technology with the greatest development opportunities in Poland. The following three technologies: distributed photovoltaic energy, biogas plants, and biomass power plants, respectively, received a similar rating in the ranking. Hydropower and geothermal were the lowest-ranked technologies. The ranking, which is the result of multi-criteria analysis, in several respects, is significantly different from the directions of activities indicated in the state energy policy. In the past two decades, clean energy such as hydro, wind, and solar power has achieved significant development under the "green recovery" global goal, and it may become the key method for countries to realize a low-carbon energy system. Here, the development of renewable energy power generation, the typical hydro-wind-photovoltaic complementary practical project, is summarized, and some key problems in complementary systems such as the description and prediction of the power generation law in large-scale stations, risk management, and coordinated operation are analyzed. In terms of these problems, this paper systematically summarizes the research methods and characteristics of a hydro-wind-solar hybrid system and expounds upon the technical realization process from the prediction and description of wind and solar power station cluster output, the risks brought about by large-scale renewable energy grid-connected operation, and the long-term and short-term coordination modeling and resolution thoughts on the hydro-wind-solar hybrid system in cluster mode. Finally, based on the aforementioned analysis, the existing research gaps are discussed from the standpoints of generation forecast, risk management, and cluster scheduling, and the future work outlook is presented accordingly. Wind power has become one of the essential solutions to renewable energy and sustainable development problems. The accuracy of wind speed forecasts primarily determines the utilization of wind energy. Because many factors affect wind speed, high-precision wind speed prediction is still a practical and challenging task. In this paper, we propose multidimensional spatial-temporal graph neural networks (MST-GNN) for wind speed prediction: (1) establish a transformer-based model named Wind-Transformer on temporal perspective for single-point wind speed prediction with multidimensional data (wind speed, wind direction, temperature, air pressure, etc.), (2) apply graph neural network using Wind-Transformer as a node on spatial view to accurately predict the wind speed at local point by comprehensively aggregating the wind speed of local point and surrounding points. Through comprehensive experiments on open source datasets for wind speed prediction, we demonstrate that our model MST-GNN outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines up to 8.96%. The large-scale development of renewable energy has an urgent demand for an adjustable power supply. For a multi-energy system with multiple types of heterogeneous power sources, including wind power, photovoltaic (PV) power, hydropower, thermal power and pumped storage, a novel semi-scheduling mode and a solution method were proposed in this paper. Firstly, based on the load and the reserve demand during the peak load period, the semi-scheduling mode was adopted to determine the start-up combination of thermal power units. Furthermore, by predicting the generating/pumping power, the working state of pumped storage units was determined to realize the independent solution of discrete integer variables. Secondly, the risk–utility function was constructed to quantify the attitude of pumped storage towards the uncertainty of renewable energy output, which completed the quotation and clearing of the pumped storage in the ancillary service market. Finally, by taking the minimum total quotation cost as the objective, the wind–solar–hydro- thermal-pumped storage coordinated (WSHTPC) model was built in the day-ahead market. In recent years, under the guidance of China's green energy development strategy, a large number of photovoltaic, wind power and other DGs have been connected to the rural distribution network. The current rural distribution network structure, DG grid-connected location and capacity, line transmission capacity and other system conditions are in conflict with the ever-increasing rural power demand. DG output and load demand are continuously changing with time. The large-scale access of DGs and EVs has made the “source-load” side of the rural distribution network present significant uncertainty. The traditional topology of rural distribution network cannot cope with the impact of this “source-load” double uncertainty. Therefore, it is urgent to study a new method of dynamic reconfiguration for rural active distribution network. This paper establishes a dynamic reconfiguration model of active distribution network with DG consumption and line loss as objective functions. Taking into account the time-varying characteristics of “source-load”, this paper proposes a new method of dynamic reconfiguration of rural active distribution network based on regional division, and designs the process of this dynamic reconfiguration method. In order to improve the efficiency of solving the problem of dynamic reconfiguration of active distribution network, a regional division method is proposed for the first time. The regional division method includes two parts: The initial division of regions and the optimized division of regions. The dynamic reconfiguration method of active distribution network based on area division mainly includes the following four steps. Firstly, the distribution network structure is divided into several initial regions which include main line regions and branch line regions based on the regional initial division method. Secondly, with the goal of promoting the flexible and efficient combined application of DGs between regions, the result of regional initial division is optimized dynamically based on the breadth-first traversal algorithm in the graph theory algorithm. Thirdly, based on the obtained results of dynamic regional optimization, the depth-first traversal algorithm is used to test and modify the DNR scheme to meet the topology constraints of the distribution network. At this time, all feasible DNR schemes can be obtained. Finally, the fast non-dominated sorting strategy is adopted to select the best network reconfiguration scheme that meets the constraints such as node voltage. To validate the performance of the proposed method, it is tested on the well-known IEEE 33-node and PG&E 69-node distribution system. The simulation result of 33-node distribution system shows that the loss reduction effect of the proposed method is very good. Especially at 14:00, the loss reduction effect of the distribution network was the most obvious, which was reduced by 71.41%. At this time, the effect of increasing the utilization rate of DG consumption is also obvious. On this basis, the proposed method on the consumption of each DG was deeply analyzed in this article. Result shows that the proposed method can achieve complete consumption of DG. The voltage of each node under the network structure obtained by the regional optimization division method meets the voltage quality requirements. In addition, the average daily DG consumption rate of the PG&E 69-node distribution system was increased by 16.09 percent point, and the daily line loss was reduced by 55.32%. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the simulation of these two case studies. The simulation results show that the proposed method can fully switch and adjust the ability to improve the absorption capacity of the distributed power, reduce the line loss, suppress the fluctuation of the distributed power, and keep the node voltage smooth. • A hierarchical approach is proposed considering quartile method for optimization. • Proposed CEEMDAN-DMD can regress the energy based on pre-set energy proportion. • Proposed hierarchical allocation strategy can be used for severe power volatility. The development of renewable energy dominated power system and the integration of large-scale wind-storage energy system are inevitable trends of the future society. This paper developed a new methodology of hierarchical power allocation strategy considering wind power fluctuation. A novel idea is presented that fully considers the fluctuation and energy proportion. Based on the Quartile Method (QM) and Hampel-Savitzky Golay (HSG) strategy, a layered-based method that considers the volatility interval to effectively overcome the limitations of a single strategy caused by severe volatility interval is proposed. Then, an improved power division method based on Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN) and Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) is proposed where CEEMDAN is used to decompose the Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF) of the remaining fluctuations. Furthermore, according to the required setting of energy proportion, DMD strategy is used for power fitting of the hybrid energy storage system (HESS). Through experimental verification, the hierarchical strategy proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the probability of severe volatility interval or distortion interval and ensure the sequence in the ideal interval. Moreover, the proposed CEEMDAN-DMD strategy can realize the power division according to the energy proportion demand. In model verification, the volatility improvement ζλ 1 min = 85.4766%. Set the energy demand ≥ 80%, the fitting energy proportion accounts for 87.7533%, which outperforms the traditional power division method.
