The current Web of Science-based paper provides a scientometrics analysis of research publications in Psychology in India from 1989 to 2020. The data analysis was done using bibliometric software, including VOS viewer, Biblioshiny (R Studio), and MS Excel. The publications and citation structures are analyzed first, followed by the most cited papers and most favored journals. Further, top authors and institutions are analyzed as significant research areas. The results show that Andrade C from the National Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences, Bangalore is the most productive author. At the same time, Patel V from Sangath, Goa, is the most influential author. The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences is most productive among the institutions, while the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, is the most influential. The results indicate that the International Journal of Psychology is a key journal in publishing India's scientific production in Psychology. The results also show that culture, HIV, depression, anxiety, attention, cross-culture, gender, and mental health are significant research topics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main objective of this paper is to explore the impact of students' perceived academic stress on the quality of campus life of business schools in South India. A survey was conducted among the first and final-year MBA students from Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad business schools. Structured questionnaires designed through Google Forms were used to gather the primary data from a sample of 386 students. A cross-sectional study examined the significant academic stressors and how students perceive and manage these stressors. In addition, this paper also analyzes the impact of academic stress on the quality of campus life by examining the physical health, environmental health, mental health, and social relationships among students. Data was collected thrice in a semester, i.e., during the beginning of the semester, mid-semester, and end of the semester during examinations. The research outcome shows that all the academic stress factors identified in the study (stress perception, stressors, and stress management) significantly relate to the academic stress construct. Similarly, physical, environmental, and mental health and social relationship are positively associated with the quality of campus life. Background: Mental health conditions are common during pregnancy and the first year after childbirth. Early detection allows timely support and treatment to be offered, but identifying perinatal mental health conditions may be challenging due to stigma and under-recognition of symptoms. Asking about symptoms of mental health conditions during routine antenatal and postnatal appointments can help to identify women at risk. This study explores women's awareness of perinatal mental health conditions, their views on the acceptability of being asked about mental health and any preference for specific assessment tools in two regions in India. Methods: Focus group discussions (FGDs) were conducted with pregnant, post-partum and non-perinatal women in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh (northern India) and Bengaluru, Karnataka (southern India). Settings included a hospital antenatal clinic and obstetric ward, Anganwadi Centres and Primary Health Centres. FGDs were facilitated, audio-recorded and transcribed. Narratives were coded for emerging themes and analysed using thematic analysis. Results: Seven FGDs including 36 participants were conducted. Emerging themes were: manifestations of and contributors to mental health conditions; challenges in talking about mental health; and the acceptability of being asked about mental health. Difficult familial relationships, prioritising the needs of others and pressure to have a male infant were cited as key stressors. Being asked about mental health was generally reported to be acceptable, though some women felt uncomfortable with questions about suicidality. No preference for any specific assessment tool was reported. Conclusions: Women face many stressors during the perinatal period including difficult familial relationships and societal pressure to bear a male infant. Being asked about mental health was generally considered to be acceptable, but questions relating to suicidality may be challenging in a community setting, requiring sensitivity by the interviewer. Future studies should assess the acceptability of mental health assessments in 'real world' antenatal and postnatal clinics and explore ways of overcoming the associated challenges in resource-constrained settings. Cyberbullying affects the mental health of victims. Media especially print media plays a significant role in reporting of cyber-related crimes to the general public. A total of 549 leading English daily newspapers for a period of 6-months were reviewed. The data were content analyzed using frequently repeated themes/contents. Totally, 51 instances of individual cyberbullying stories were reported from 549 newspapers. Among the reported incidents of cyberbullying in the print media, online harassment and impersonation were the most common type of cyberbullying experienced by the people. The study highlights the need for framing local guidelines for reporting of cyberbullying incidents and preventive mechanisms in the print media. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Half of all mental disorders start during adolescence, before 14 years. In India, the current prevalence of mental disorders in 13–17 years age group was 7.3%. Many gaps persist in the mental healthcare delivery through the national mental health program, the low psychiatrist population ratio being one of them. Community health workers can play an essential role in providing mental healthcare in such resource-constrained settings. The World Health Organization mental health gap action program (WHO mhGAP) is a widely studied mental health tool that health workers can use to identify mental disorders. The study's aim was to test the preliminary efficacy of training healthcare workers (HCWs) in identifying mental health conditions among adolescents using modified WHO mhGAP modules. Methods: The feasibility study was carried out in two Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in rural Bengaluru. Study had two components: (1) training of HCWs on adolescent mental health and (2) detection of selected priority mental health conditions among adolescents by trained HCWs. HCWs were trained in five adolescent mental health conditions using a training manual and modified WHO mhGAP modules that excluded emergency presentations and management sections. Pre- and post-training assessments were carried out. A sample of 272 adolescents attending PHCs were assessed for any mental health condition by HCWs using mhGAP modules. A sub-sample of adolescents and all adolescents identified by HCWs with a mental health condition was interviewed by the investigator to validate the diagnosis. Qualitative interviews were carried out with participating HCWs to understand the acceptability of the intervention, acceptability, and barriers to training in identifying mental health conditions among adolescents Results: A total of 23 HCWs underwent training. There was a significant increase in the mental health knowledge scores of HCWs post-training compared to baseline (p value <0.001). Out of 272 adolescents, 18 (6.8%) were detected to have any mental health condition by HCWs as per the modified WHO mhGAP modules. A sample of 72 adolescents consisting of all adolescents identified with a mental health condition by HCWs and a random sample of adolescents without any diagnosis were validated by the research investigator (AS). There was a good agreement between diagnosis by health workers and the research investigator with a Cohen's Kappa of 0.88. Four themes emerged from the qualitative analysis. Conclusions: Training was effective in improving the knowledge of HCWs. There was a good agreement between trained HCWs and the investigator in detecting adolescent mental health conditions using modified mhGAP modules. Background: A multidimensional family support and well-being programme (FSWP) was initiated to support the families of children in conflict with law (CICL) and strengthen their participation in the integration process. This programme aims to successfully reintegrate children into the family and build parental capacity to manage them. This study presents the overview of the multidimensional FSWP initiated in an observation home, facility for CICLs, Bengaluru, a metropolitan city of India. Methods and Materials: The team of psychiatric social workers systematically delivered the family support programme to promote families' involvement at multiple levels (individual, relationships, community, and societal) for successful reintegration of children in communities. The preliminary data about the participants was collected using strengths and difficulties questionnaire and parent interview schedule. Results: The programme activities consisted of engaging parents and family members in the parenting management training programme, addressing their psychosocial issues, identifying resources for postrelease rehabilitation and promotive interventions with children and their parents. The FSWP activities are developed to increase positive outcomes like favorable behavioral changes in children and emotional regulation, frequent participation and support of parents in the trial and rehabilitation process, and encouraging parental involvement in for successful community reintegration and placements of children. Conclusion: The family characteristics are integrally related to delinquency and practioners need to integrate such factors to improve parenting behaviors and enhance positive relationships between families and children.
