Hybrid nanofluids (HNF) are the advanced form of nanofluids used for improved heat transfer purposes. Taking this point in mind, the objective of the presented endeavor is to examine the Yamada–Ota HNF flow model comprising (gold–silver/engine oil) over a stretched cylindrical surface and a sheet (as a limiting case) in a permeable medium. The novelty of this research is the consideration of the surface-catalyzed reaction along with the homogeneous–heterogeneous reactions to accelerate the chemical reactions in the shortest possible time. The heat transport phenomenon is strengthened with the support of Joule heating, heat absorption/generation, and the convective heat boundary condition at the surface of the cylinder. The obtained ordinary differential equations are reduced from the partial differential equations using boundary layer theory and are numerically computed using the Keller box method. It is witnessed that for varied estimates of the magnetic parameter, the thermal profile enhances while the velocity field reduces. It is also noted that the fluid concentration is reduced when the surface-catalyzed parameter is enhanced. The present study possesses the mathematical computational analysis for mixed convection nanofluid (CuO–water) flow in a lid‐driven parallelogram enclosure with corrugated walls. A partially heated source is located at the bottom corrugated wall. The remaining portions of upper and lower corrugated boundaries are adiabatic. The verticals walls are kept cold. The flow dynamic established with wall undulation and inclined Lorentz forces generate complex mathematical formulation via partial differential equations. Finite element method is implemented to get numerical interpretation of these equations. The simulation is performed against various emerging parameters and the outcomes in terms of isotherms, streamlines and line graphs. The results are recorded against various Richardson numbers (10−2≤Ri≤102)$(10^{-2}\le Ri \le 10^{2})$, Hartman number (0≤Ha≤100)$(0\le Ha \le 100)$, nanoparticles volume fraction (0≤ϕ≤0.2)$(0 \le \phi \le 0.2)$, and amplitude of the corrugated horizontal walls (0.02≤Am≤0.10)$(0.02\le A_m \le 0.10)$. It is observed that against smaller Richardson number streamlines indicate forced convection flow while at higher Richardson number flow divert toward free convection regime. Induction heating-assisted single point incremental sheet forming was established for Ti-6Al-4V thin sheets at closed and above beta-transus temperature (980 °C). In order to eliminate geometric inaccuracy and adherence of lubricant on the surface caused by elevated temperature, a cooling lubricant system was designed for the forming tool to decrease the thermal expansion and friction. A radial basis function (RBF)-based tool path optimisation was developed to study the measured geometric accuracy, temperature, and forming force. By adjusting cooling lubricant control and integrating the RBF framework, the first optimised tool path was used to collect the results and to validate with the finite element (FE) model and theoretical geometric profiles. The output data were further studied by RBF and generate a second optimised tool path. The measured geometric coordinates revealed that the error percentage has been reduced to less than 5%. Further, the microstructure evolution analysed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) indicated noticeable oxidation and alpha-layer for temperature around 1040 °C and the phenomenon was removed at temperature closed to 950 °C. The surface roughness and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) revealed the optimised tool path distributed significant improvement in surface quality. The cooling lubricant system indicated optimal performance with RBF optimised tool path to support constant temperature and reduce friction and lubricant adherence on the surface. • The shear response of shear-damaged RC beams repaired with SHCC jacket material was investigated. • The post-peak deformability and shear-crack response of the repaired beams were improved compared to those of the control beams. • The repairing technique was not able to restore the initial stiffness of the uncracked beams. • The design equations of JSCE code underestimate the ultimate shear capacity of the strengthened/repaired beams. Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete (RC) beams using Strain-Hardening Cementitious Composites (SHCC) material became a worldwide practice. Previous investigations showed significant improvement in the shear resistance of SHCC-strengthened (undamaged) beams. However, a little effort has been devoted to study the ability of SHCC material in retrofitting shear-damaged RC beams. Thus, the current study aims to evaluate the shear response of shear-damaged RC beams repaired with SHCC material. In this context, eleven RC beams were prepared and configured to be failed in shear. One beam was considered as control specimen; while, four beams were strengthened with 20 mm thick U-shaped SHCC jackets having four different transversal reinforcement ratios (0, 0.65, 0.86 and 1.08%). The remaining six beams were pre-cracked (preloaded) with three different preloading levels (0.75, 0.85 and 0.95% of the ultimate capacity), then, three differently preloaded beams were repaired with SHCC jackets, whereas, for the remaining three beams, the developed shear cracks were injected by epoxy prior to the application of SHCC jackets. All beams were tested under four point loading scheme with shear span-to-depth ratio of 2.5. The test results showed that the strength, post-peak deformability and shear-crack response of the repaired beams were improved compared to those of the control beams. In addition, the use of epoxy injection prior to the application of the SHCC jacket showed its ability to restore a significant value of the lost strength gain due to preloading. However, the repairing technique was not able to restore the initial stiffness of the uncracked beams. Finally, based on analytical analysis, the design equations of JSCE code underestimated the ultimate shear capacity of the strengthened/repaired beams with average safety margin of about 27%. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplifies specific deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) targets whereby the reaction vessels are placed in high thermal inertia media and subjected to multiple cycles of discrete temperatures to effect denaturation, annealing and extension events. Precise temperature control and efficient heat transfer are crucial factors in achieving amplification reproducibility and reliability as well as in reducing the time required for PCR. Understanding the temperature distribution and transfer characteristics during PCR will facilitate system optimization to enhance the efficiency of DNA amplification. We describe a numerical thermal study investigating temperature profiles achieved using the classical method of manual transfer of PCR reaction vessels through a series of temperature-controlled media compared with that of a more recently reported method that displaces reaction vessels spatially by tilting through different temperature zones. It was found that while the classical method allows the reagent to achieve uniform temperature distribution, natural convection effects would necessitate translation speeds in excess of 150 mm/min in order to limit the reagent temperature drop to within 10 °C. With the tilt method, uniform temperature distributions as well as temperature settling times within 5 s could be attained. Background. Diabetes mellitus impairs the reproductive system by damaging the glands and changing their function and hormone secretions. Given the previous studies on medical properties of silk cocoon, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of silk cocoon on pituitary-gonadal axis hormones and the testis changes in diabetic male rats. Methods. In this experimental study, 35 male rats were divided into 5 equal groups. Control (C), nontreated diabetic rats (DNT1), and experimental diabetic rats treated (DT1) with a silk cocoon extract at concentrations of 200, 400, and 800 mg/kg for 56 days. Diabetes was induced by an injection of streptozotocin. Blood sampling was performed by the tail and heart after fasting. Body weight, serum levels of glucose, prolactin, leptin, inhibin A, IGF-2, activin A, insulin, LH, testosterone, FSH, and GnRH were measured along with the testis weight and diameter as the outcome of the study. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 20. Results. Investigation of hormonal factors indicated that all diabetic groups had higher prolactin, inhibin A levels than those in C group and lower leptin, IGF-2, activin A, insulin, LH, testosterone, FSH, and GnRH levels than controls. Silk cocoon treatment significantly decreased prolactin and inhibin in comparison of DNT1 group. While there was a significant increase in leptin, IGF-2, activin A, insulin, LH, testosterone, FSH, and GnRH levels compared with DNT1 (P < 0.05). A significant decrease in both the testis weights and diameters was observed in diabetic male rats compared to controls (P < 0.05). While silk cocoon treatment improved gonadal weight, the diameter of tunica albuginea, and seminiferous tubules as long as increased in numbers of spermatocytes and Sertoli-Leydig cells. Spermatogonia, spermatocyte, spermatid, spermatozoid, Sertoli cells, and Leydig cell count were significantly lower in the DNT1 group in comparison with the control group, while all groups receiving the highest dose of SC800 mg/kg daily had a higher count of cells than the DNT1 group. Conclusion. It seems that silk cocoon treatment decreases the effects of diabetes on hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study is an attempt to investigate the three-dimensional flow of engine oil-based nanofluid under the impact of rotation and partial slip phenomenon over a stretchable surface. Partial slip condition is incorporated into the system at boundaries and the arising quotient of angular speed to stretching constant is regarded as rotation impression on freely moving three-dimensional flow of copper oxide-engine oil and aluminum oxide-engine oil nanofluid. The designed problem has been tackled numerically with the boundary value problem technique, this numerical mechanism requires one to transform the flow governing highly nonlinear PDEs into first-order differential equations along with associated boundary conditions. This procedure is carried out by employing a suitable similarity transformation. The investigation determines the impact of slip and rotation on primary and secondary velocity profiles, shear stress rates, and heat transfer coefficient. Minimum skin friction and Maximum Nusselt number has been observed for CuO − Engine Oil nanofluid under partial slip parameter as compared to Al 2 O 3 − Engine Oil nanofluid. This study aimed to determine the morbidity and mortality patterns among infants of diabetic mothers admitted to the neonatal care unit in Karbala pediatric teaching hospital. The study enrolled fifty diabetic infants (pregestational and gestational) admitted to the ward from the 1st of October 2013 to the 30th of January 2014. Data on delivery mode, gestational age, birth weight, other associated morbidities, investigation results, therapy, length of hospital stay, and outcome were collected and compared to infants of non-diabetic mothers admitted during the same period. A retrospective analysis of maternal data was performed. 62% of infants were born to mothers with gestational diabetes, and 38% were born to mothers with pre-gestational diabetes. 86% were born by caesarian section, of which 35% were by emergency cesarean section. The mean gestational age of infants of diabetic mothers was 37w1d±1.88, and 29 (64%) had macrosomia. The most typical morbidities were hypoglycemia (significantly higher in infants of diabetic mothers (IDMs) than infants of non-diabetic mothers) and hyperbilirubinemia in 36 (72%) and 24 (48%), respectively. There was no difference in morbidity patterns between infants of pregestational and gestational diabetic mothers except for macrosomia, and transient tachypnea of newborns was higher in gestational diabetes. The mortality rate was not significantly higher in IDMs. Diabetes during pregnancy has a serious effect on neonates and their mothers. The commenced morbidities in IDMs were hypoglycemia, macrosomia, and hyperbilirubinemia, so strict control of blood glucose level during pregnancy and education of diabetic women is essential before and during gestation. This article explores the application of the reduced differential transform method (RDTM) for the computational solutions of two fractional-order cancer tumor models in the Caputo sense: the model based on cancer chemotherapeutic effects which explain the relation between chemotherapeutic drugs, tumor cells, normal cells, and immune cells using a fractional partial differential equations, and the model that describes the different cases of killing rate K of cancer cells (the killing percentage of cancer cells K (I) is dependent on the number of cells, (II) is a function of time only, and (III) is a function of space only). The solutions are presented using Mathematica software as a convergent power series with elegantly computed terms using the suggested technique. The proposed method gives new series form results for various values of gamma. To clarify the complexity of the models, we plot the two- and three-dimensional and contour graphics of the obtained solutions at varied values of fractional-order gamma and the selected system parameters. The solutions are analyzed with fractional and reduced differential transform methods to obtain an idea of invariance regarding the computed solution of the designed mathematical model. The obtained results demonstrate the efficiency and preciseness of the proposed method to achieve a better understanding of chemotherapy effects. It is observed that chemotherapy drugs boost immunity against the specific cancer by decreasing the number of tumor cells, and the killing rate K of cancerous cells depend on the cells concentration. Slow-release oxidation is important for effectively and selectively treating aromatic hydrocarbon pollutants like phenol in water. This research work focuses on persulfate candles formation for slow-relaese oxidation of phenol in water. To control the persulfate release rate polystyrene coating was applied to the beads. Four predetermined PAHs to ferrous molar ratios accompanied with persulfate candles were applied for the oxidation process. In the presence of ferrous activator the degradation of phenol was achieved. The increasing concentration of ferrous with constant persulfate and phenol concentration the higher degradation can be achieved up to certain Ph:Fe+2 ratio. Zero-dimensional graphene quantum dots (GQDs) present unique optoelectronic properties in the large-spectrum range from UV to visible. However, the origin of luminescence in GQDs is still a debatable question. Therefore, the present work investigates the features of trap-mediated and edge-state-functionalized group-associated luminescence enhancement of GQDs. The attached functional groups' involvement in the upsurge of photoluminescence has been discussed theoretically as well as experimentally. In addition, the role of the aromatic ring, the functional group attached, and their positions of attachment to the aromatic ring to tune the emission wavelength and Raman modes have been elucidated theoretically as well as experimentally. We found that in the case of the –OH group attached outside of the aromatic ring, the long-range π hybridization dominates, which suggests that the emission from this model can be dictated by long-range π hybridization. In particular, we found that oxygen-containing functional groups attached outside of the aromatic ring are the main source of the luminescence signature in GQDs. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) indicates that the –OH functional group attached outside of the aromatic ring perfectly matched with our experimental results, as the experimental bandgap (2.407 eV) is comparable with the theoretical simulated bandgap (2.399 eV) of the –OH group attached outside of the aromatic ring. Mild and self‐limiting conjunctival involvement has been well‐documented, and severe ocular complications, including keratitis, corneal scarring, and the associated loss of vision, are increasingly recognized. Tecovirimat is the first‐line antiviral therapy for severe mpox, but data around the efficacy of systemic antiviral agents for mpox are limited, particularly in cases of ocular mpox.Here, we describe a case of sight‐threatening necrotic blepharokeratoconjunctivitis in a person with advanced HIV, requiring an extended course of tecovirimat due to persistent mpox viral shedding for nearly 5 months. The use of traditional plants has been tremendously increased due to their higher biological impact, minimal side effects, and comparatively low cost. Moreover, the emergence of antibacterial resistance is also shifting the scientific community to reconsider herbal remedies which provide relatively safer, cheap and biologically tolerable solutions. The present research was designed to fabricate the Mentha spicata conjugated silver nanoparticles (Me-AgNPs). Furthermore, the assessment of the bactericidal potential of Me-AgNPs against various bacterial strains was another motive behind this study. Fabricated NPs were characterized with the help of the UV-Visible spectrophotometric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Me-AgNPs showed a significant zone of inhibition (23 ± 0.2 mm) at 8 mg/mL against Staphylococcus aureus and a 4.0 ± 0.2 mm zone of growth inhibition at 2 mg/mL against Aeromonas veronii. The stability of Me-AgNPs was assessed at various pH (4, 7 and 11) and temperatures (25 °C, 4 °C, 37 °C, 75 °C). The significant zones of inhibition (11.3 ± 0.3 mm, 8.3 ± 0.3mm, 14.3 ± 0.3 mm, and 7.6 ± 0.2 mm) were observed at pH 11 against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae, respectively. Growth inhibition zones (14.0 ± 0.5 mm and 13.0 ± 0.5 mm) were also determined against B. subtilis and S. aureus at 25 °C. DPPH bioassay was conducted to find the antioxidant properties of Me-AgNPs. The highest (38.66 ± 0.2%) free radical scavenging activity was shown by Me-AgNPs at 4 mg/mL. Present study results concluded that biogenic Me-AgNPs have bactericidal as well as anti-oxidative potential. Resistance breathing may restore cardiac output (CO) and cerebral blood flow (CBF) during hypovolemia. We assessed CBF and cerebral autoregulation (CA) during tilt, resistance breathing, and paced breathing in 10 healthy subjects. Blood velocities in the internal carotid artery (ICA), middle cerebral arteries (MCA, four subjects), and aorta were measured by Doppler ultrasound in 30° and 60° semi‐recumbent positions. ICA blood flow and CO were calculated. Arterial blood pressure (ABP, Finometer), and end‐tidal CO2 (ETCO2) were recorded. ICA blood flow response was assessed by mixed‐models regression analysis. The synchronization index (SI) for the variable pairs ABP–ICA blood velocity, ABP–MCA velocities in 0.005–0.08 Hz frequency interval was calculated as a measure of CA. Passive tilting from 30° to 60° resulted in 12% decrease in CO (p = 0.001); ICA blood flow tended to fall (p = 0.04); Resistance breathing restored CO and ICA blood flow despite a 10% ETCO2 drop. ETCO2 and CO contributed to ICA blood flow variance (adjusted R2: 0.9, p < 0.0001). The median SI was low (<0.2) indicating intact CA, confirmed by surrogate date testing. The peak SI was transiently elevated during resistance breathing in the 60° position. Resistance breathing may transiently reduce CA efficiency. Paced breathing did not restore CO or ICA blood flow. Persistent, aged hydrocarbons in soil hinder remediation, posing a significant environmental threat. While bioremediation offers an environmentally friendly and cost-effective approach, its efficacy for complex contaminants relies on enhancing pollutant bioavailability. This study explores the potential of immobilized bacterial consortia combined with biochar and rhamnolipids to accelerate bioremediation of aged total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH)-contaminated soil. Previous research indicates that biochar and biosurfactants can increase bioremediation rates, while mixed consortia offer sequential degradation and higher hydrocarbon mineralization. The present investigation aimed to assess whether combining these strategies could further enhance degradation in aged, complex soil matrices. The bioaugmentation (BA) with bacterial consortium increased the TPHs degradation in aged soil (over 20% compared to natural attenuation - NA). However, co-application of BA with biochar and rhamnolipid higher did not show a statistically prominent synergistic effect. While biochar application facilitated the maintenance of hydrocarbon degrading bacterial consortium in soil, the present study did not identify a direct influence in TPHs degradation. The biochar application in contaminated soil contributed to TPHs adsorption. Rhamnolipid alone slightly increased the TPHs biodegradation with NA, while the combined bioaugmentation treatment with rhamnolipid and biochar increased the degradation between 27.5 and 29.8%. These findings encourage further exploration of combining bioaugmentation with amendment, like biochar and rhamnolipid, for remediating diverse environmental matrices contaminated with complex and aged hydrocarbons. This computational study investigates the equivalence ratio and hydrogen volume fraction effect on the ultra-lean burning of the syngas-fueled homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engine. In this research, low calorific syngas, composed of different compositions of H2, CO, and CO2, is used as a fuel in the HCCI engine that is operated under an overly lean air-fuel mixture. ANSYS Forte CFD package with Gri-Mech 3.0 chemical kinetics was used to analyze the in-cylinder combustion phenomena, and the simulation results were validated with experimental tests in the form of in-cylinder pressure and heat release rate at different equivalence ratios. The results indicate that changing the equivalence ratio produces a negligible change in combustion phasing, while it positively impacts the combustion and thermal efficiency of this syngas-fueled HCCI engine under lean conditions due to the high burning rate in the squish region. Moreover, an increased equivalence ratio increases MPRR due to the rich mixture combustion. This study emphasizes the performance of two-dimensional electrically non-conducting Oldroyd-B fluid flowing across a stretching sheet with thermophoretic particle deposition. The heat and mass transfer mechanisms are elaborated in the presence of a magnetic dipole, which acts as an external magnetic field. The fluid possesses magnetic characteristics due to the presence of ferrite particles. The gyrotactic microorganisms are considered to keep the suspended ferromagnetic particles stable. Cattaneo–Christov heat flux is cogitated instead of the conventional Fourier law. Further, to strengthen the heat transfer and mass transfer processes, thermal stratification and chemical reaction are employed. Appropriate similarity transformations are applied to convert highly nonlinear coupled partial differential equations into non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs). To numerically solve these ODEs, an excellent MATLAB bvp4c approach is used. The physical behavior of important parameters and their graphical representations are thoroughly examined. The tables are presented to address the thermophoretic particle velocity deposition, rate of heat flux, and motile microorganisms' density number. The results show that the rate of heat transfer decreases as the value of the thermal relaxation time parameter surges. This study investigated the concept of politeness as perceived by Iranians in their social interactions from the perspective of politeness theory, especially politeness 1 that views politeness as judgments of other people's behaviour. Data were collected using open-ended questionnaires and a focus group discussion. While 190 Iranians responded to the questionnaire, 6 teachers of English participated in the group discussion. Data were coded and analysed using thematic analysis. The results reveal that a taxonomy of five verbal strategies and eight non-verbal strategies, along with their sub-strategies, are used by Iranians in their social interactions. This taxonomy contributes to the discipline of politeness from the sociocultural perspectives. The study partially supports the politeness theory of Brown and Levinson (1987) as in this study new politeness strategies were discovered, while embracing multiple perspectives for the conceptualization and practice of politeness. The objective of the present research is to obtain enhanced heat and reduce skin friction rates. Different nanofluids are employed over an exponentially stretching surface to analyze the heat transfer coefficients. The mathematical model for the problem has been derived with the help of the Rivilin–Erickson tensor and an appropriate boundary layer approximation theory. The current problem has been tackled with the help of the boundary value problem algorithm in Matlab. The convergence criterion, or tolerance for this particular problem, is set at 10−6. The outcomes are obtained to demonstrate the characteristics of different parameters, such as the temperature exponent, volume fraction, and stretching ratio parameter graphically. Silver-water nanofluid proved to have a high-temperature transfer rate when compared with zinc-water and copper-water nanofluid. Moreover, the outcomes of the study are validated by providing a comparison with already published work. The results of this study were found to be in complete agreement with those of Magyari and Keller and also with Lui for heat transfer. The novelty of this work is the comparative inspection of enhanced heat transfer rates and reduced drag and lift coefficients, particularly for three nanofluids, namely, zinc-water, copper-water, and silver-water, over an exponentially stretching. In general, this study suggests more frequent exploitation of all the examined nanofluids, especially Ag -water nanofluid. Moreover, specifically under the obtained outcomes in this research, the examined nanofluid, Ag-water, has great potential to be used in flat plate solar collectors. Background: Ectopic pregnancy (EP) affects 1–2% of all pregnant females'(Barnhart et al., Expert Opin Pharmacother 2(3):409–417, 2001) that can require emergent surgical intervention. Noninvasive diagnostic tests like transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS), and serial β-hCG levels have enabled early diagnosis and allowed medical therapy to be tried. Methotrexate (MTX) versus expectant management, both have been considered safe but superiority of one over the other is lacking. Methods: We searched for RCT that have shown efficacy of MTX versus expectant management in hemodynamically stable patients. Our primary outcome was whether one modality is superior to the other. Results: Four RCT were included in the meta-analysis after review. Our pooled analysis when comparing MTX and expectant management showed us that the difference between the uneventful decline in β-hCG levels (treatment success) was statistically insignificant (RR = 1.06, 95% CI 0.93–1.21) with no significant heterogeneity between trials (I2 = 0.0%, P = 0.578). The difference between need for surgical intervention between methotrexate and expectant management was also statistically insignificant (RR = 0.77, 95% CI 0.43–1.40) with no significant heterogeneity between trials (I2 = 0.0%, P = 0.552). Cryopreservation is a widely used long-term preservation method to ensure the quality and vitality of microbes in laboratories and biological resource facilities. However, freeze-thaw damage and osmotic pressure changes during cryopreservation adversely impacts microbial survival. Significant expenditure of resources and expertise are required to select the right cryoprotectant and optimize its concentration for maximum survival of diverse microorganisms. This work describes a cryopreservation method that obviates the need for cryoprotectants by exploiting the unique thermal characteristics of semi-spherical drops. Here, a plurality of these drops, each 10 μl in volume, created on a highly non-wetting flat-sheet substrate with holes and frozen at −70 °C. Deriving an f (x) metric as a measure of relative viability, storage in drops in the absence of cryoprotectants was found to improve the survivability of Staphylococcus epidermidis by 1.91 times compared with the same sample stored in larger 50-μl volumes in standard 1.5-ml tubes. This also compares well with a value of 2.33 obtained with standard preservation with cryoprotectant. The drop method allows high throughput aliquoting of the bacterial culture into multiple discrete drops using multichannel pipettes or automated liquid handlers and the edges of the holes provides a pinning action that holds the drop stably against gravitational roll-offs. It also allows samples to be removed in discrete small volumes, thus, reducing the number of freeze thaw cycles and associated cell damage. Effective prevention of recurrent kidney stone disease requires the understanding of the mechanisms of its formation. Numerous in vivo observations have demonstrated that a large number of pathological calcium oxalate kidney stones develop on an apatitic calcium phosphate deposit, known as Randall's plaque. In an attempt to understand the role of the inorganic hydroxyapatite phase in the formation and habits of calcium oxalates, we confined their growth under dynamic physicochemical and flow conditions in a reversible microfluidic channel coated with hydroxyapatite. Using multi-scale characterization techniques including scanning electron and Raman microscopy, we showed the successful formation of carbonated hydroxyapatite as found in Randall's plaque. This was possible due to a new two-step flow seed-mediated growth strategy which allowed us to coat the channel with carbonated hydroxyapatite. Precipitation of calcium oxalates under laminar flow from supersaturated solutions of oxalate and calcium ions showed that the formation of crystals is a substrate and time dependent complex process where diffusion of oxalate ions to the surface of carbonated hydroxyapatite and the solubility of the latter are among the most important steps for the formation of calcium oxalate crystals. Indeed when an oxalate solution was flushed for 24 h, dissolution of the apatite layer and formation of calcium carbonate calcite crystals occurred which seems to promote calcium oxalate crystal formation. Such a growth route has never been observed in vivo in the context of kidney stones. Under our experimental conditions, our results do not show any direct promoting role of carbonated hydroxyapatite in the formation of calcium oxalate crystals, consolidating therefore the important role that macromolecules can play in the process of nucleation and growth of calcium oxalate crystals on Randall's plaque. The effectiveness of synthesized antipyrinyl‐imidazotriazole and its derivatives as inhibitors for the corrosion of copper alloy in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was tested using weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodyanmic polarization techniques. The generated results confirmed that the tested compounds have strong inhibition efficiencies for the protection of the corrosion of copper alloy in 0.5 M H2SO4. Maximum inhibition efficiencies (IEs) evaluated from electrochemical measurements at inhibitor's concentrations of 0.040 g/L were 85% (5‐(4‐Antipyrinyl)‐3H‐imidazo[1,2‐b][1,2,4]triazole), 60% (6‐Antipyrinyl‐imidazo[2,1‐b]thiazole) and 72% (2‐Antipyrinyl‐7‐ethoxy‐imidazo[2,1‐b]benzothiazole). It was observed that the inhibition efficiency was strongly influenced by the flow rate of the solution and was reduced to 79 (5‐(4‐Antipyrinyl)‐3H‐imidazo[1,2‐b][1,2,4]triazole), 60% (6‐Antipyrinyl‐imidazo[2,1‐b]thiazole), and 44% (2‐Antipyrinyl‐7‐ethoxy‐imidazo[2,1‐b]benzothiazole) at an agitation speed of 400 rpm. EI from weight loss was comparable with those from PDP of mixed‐type inhibition style and EIS of diffusion model. The low inhibition efficiency for 6‐Antipyrinyl‐imidazo[2,1‐b]thiazole was significantly enhanced from 60% to 90% through a synergistic effect of 0.0001 M KI. The rapid surge in antibiotic resistance to pathogens has emerged as a grave threat to public health, globally. This multiple drug resistance (MDR) is directly linked to the high rates of morbidity and mortality worldwide due to untreated microbial infections. Therefore, it is inevitable to identify some novel, efficient, and comparatively safer antimicrobial agents to rescue the declining health index. In this regard, nanomaterials with modified structure, size, and infinity have risen as the sole source to tackle the MDR either through ameliorating the efficacy of existing drugs or by triggering entirely new bactericidal mechanisms. Out of all the nanomaterials, metals, and metal oxide nanoparticles with biopolymer-induced reduction have fetched the attention of global researchers due to their significant and promising pathogen-killing ability without any hint of resistance. Medicinal plants have played an important role in treating different diseases. Melia azedarach is a plant with significant medical and biological applications. This research aimed to explore the possible bioactivity of various biological compounds. The gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis of Melia azedarach identified 25 compounds, among which 1-ethyl-3-methyl-2-nitrosobenzene and 2-ethyl-1,3-dimethyl-5-(nitromethyl)benzene were the main phytochemicals present in the crude extract of Melia azedarach. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a zoonotic pathogen that causes tuberculosis (TB). The hypothetical protein OHO21363.1 of Mycobacterium tuberculosis is characterized using an in silico approach for exploring immunogenicity and virulence. After the homology prediction and characterization, this protein was predicted to be a PEE family protein with virulence and immune response functions. This virulent protein lies in the extracellular region of the cell according to subcellular localization and gene ontology. Due to its virulence factor and disease privilege against the host immune response, it can be used as a potential receptor for drug designing. After the GC-MS analysis, the 28 phytochemicals were retrieved and analyzed. Pharmacophore characterization of 1-ethyl-3-methyl-2-nitrosobenzene and 2-ethyl-1,3-dimethyl-5-(nitromethyl)benzene was performed to get the initial information on phytochemical bonding properties. Chemical absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) predicted that out of 28 drugs, only 2 could cross the PGP+ through the blood–brain barrier and gastrointestinal tract without violating Lipinski's rule of 5. Both 1-ethyl-3-methyl-2-nitrosobenzene and 2-ethyl-1,3-dimethyl-5-(nitromethyl) benzene were predicted to have the best docking score against the protein, with –4.9 KJ/Mol and –5.0 KJ/Mol, respectively. Molecular dynamics simulation showed favorable results and provided useful information about the behavior and interactions of the molecules in the dock complex. Immune simulation confirms no immune response on the protein, proving it to be a virulent protein. The phytoconstituents present in Melia azedarach have the potential for multiple pharmacological applications. These findings can be used to design the potential drug candidates against TB. Introduction: Migraine, characterized by recurrent headaches and often accompanied by other symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound, significantly impacts patients' quality of life (QoL) and daily functioning. The global burden of migraines is reflected not only in terms of reduced QoL but also in the form of increased healthcare costs and missed work or school days. While UAE (United Arab Emirates)-specific consensus-based recommendations for the effective use of preventive calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-based migraine therapies have been published previously, an absence of such regional guidance on the management of acute migraine represents a gap that needs to be urgently addressed. Methods: A task force of eight neurologists from the UAE with expertise in migraine management conducted a comprehensive literature search and developed a set of expert statements on the management of acute migraine that were specific to the UAE context. To ensure diverse perspectives are considered, a Delphi panel comprising 16 neurologists plus the task force members was set up. Consensus was achieved using a modified Delphi survey method. Consensus was predefined as a median rating of 7 or higher without discordance (if > 25% of the Delphi panelists rate an expert statement as 3 or lower on the Likert scale). Expert statements achieving consensus were adopted. Results: The Modified Delphi method was used successfully to achieve consensus on all nine expert statements drafted by the task force. These consensus statements aim to provide a comprehensive guide for UAE healthcare professionals in treating acute migraine. The statements cover all aspects of acute migraine treatment, including what goals to set, the timing of treatment, treatment strategy to use in case of inadequate response to triptans, safety aspects of combining gepants for acute attacks with preventive CGRP-based therapies, special population (pregnant and pediatric patients) considerations, and the management of the most bothersome symptoms (MBS). This work leaves to explore the stability of a 2‐D, time free, thermal boundary layer of graphene oxide ethylene glycol (GO‐EG,) where GO‐blood is taken as base nanofluids over a stretchable surface by executing a magnetic field (MHD), coupled stress effects, heat source/sink, and sun‐oriented radiations. This work is done due to the reason that nanofluids have a higher heat conductivity level rather than regular liquids. Nonlinear partial differential equations (N‐PDEs) are modeled utilizing the notable boundary layer equations. Dimensionless ordinary differential conditions (ODEs) are made from the created NPDEs by utilizing dimensional analysis and group theoretic approach. For the synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles, a bioactive, cost-effective, and sustainable material such as the chitosan/silk fibroin blend was developed. The current research was aimed to elucidate the antibacterial activity of silk fibroin–chitosan blend ZnO NPs at various pH (4, 8 and 12) and temperatures (4, 37, and 50 °C) against gram-negative (Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Serratia rubidaea, and Proteus mirabilis) and gram-positive bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus thuringensis, Bacillus licheniformis, and Clostridium difficile) at numerous concentrations (2–8 mg/ml). Agar well diffusion method was used to evaluate the antibacterial effect by measuring the zone of inhibition. Silk fibroin–chitosan blend ZnO NPs significantly reserved the growth of gram-negative bacterial strains, e.g., K. pneumoniae (11.3 ± 0.9 mm), E. coli (12.7 ± 0.9 mm), S. rubidaea (16.7 ± 0.9 mm), and P. mirabilis (11.7 ± 1.2 mm) and gram-positive bacterial strains such as B. thuringiensis (12.3 ± 0.3 mm), B. licheniformis (10.0 ± 0.57 mm), S. aureus (17.3 ± 1.2 mm), and C. difficile (11.7 ± 1.2 mm). At various temperatures and various pH values (acidic and basic), the stability of silk fibroin–chitosan blend ZnO NPs was observed. Silk fibroin–chitosan blend ZnO NPs significantly inhibited the growth of all bacterial strains at 37°C, and a maximum zone of inhibition was found at pH 8. The formation of SFCH blend ZnONPs was confirmed via numerous characterization techniques such as ultraviolet visible spectrum, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Transmission electron microscopy revealed that SFCH blend ZnONPs were highly stabilized and homogeneously distributed in the solution, and the average particle size was about 30.06 nm with a spherical shape. AbstractThis research focuses on investigating the impact of magnetized nanoparticles’ heat and mass transfer process two-dimensional (2D) porous medium ternary hybrid Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) ferrofluid flow through a two movable permeable porous surface, with a specific emphasis on the Darcy Forchheimer effect, activation energy, and chemical reaction parameters. Recently, motile microorganisms have become a significant area of interest in the study of heat and mass transfer. This study employs colored plots to analyze the optimum heat transfer over a double porous plate by altering different physical parameters. Using the shooting technique, the study provides numerical solutions to nonlinear systems of equations by transforming the partial differential equations (PDE) into ordinary differential equations (ODEs) via the dimensionless similarity transformation. Tables and graphs demonstrate how the governing parameters impact velocity, temperature, mass concentration profiles, and motile microorganisms, as well as physical quantities like skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number, Sherwood number, and motile number. Ternary hybrid ferrofluid exhibits a significantly improved heat transfer rate compared to both Ferro and hybrid ferrofluid. The convective flux of heat and mass transfer experiences a decrement with an escalation in the values of the activation energy (E) parameter. The presence of positive values for both the similarity variable (n) and Exothermic/Endothermic parameter (λ) leads to an enhancement in the flow of thermal transfer on both porous surfaces. Objectives: We aimed to compare the efficacy and adverse events of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) versus Mitomycin C (MMC) in high-risk Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC) patients. Methods: This randomized controlled study was conducted over 24 months in four hospitals in Egypt. A sample of 90 patients was randomly assigned to either treatment group, with procedures including baseline examinations, a single postoperative instillation of chemotherapy, a 6-week induction cycle of the assigned drug, and regular follow-up cystoscopies and upper urinary tract imaging. Treatment results and side effects were monitored, with data analyzed via Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results: No significant differences were observed in mean age or tumor characteristics (p > 0.05). However, adverse reactions were significantly higher in the BCG group, including cystitis (40% vs. 17.78%, p = 0.020), hematuria (24.44% vs. 4.44%, p = 0.007), overall local reactions (75.56% vs. 26.67%, p < 0.001), fever (13.33% vs. 2.22%, p = 0.049), and fatigue (17.78% vs. 2.22%, p = 0.014). The MMC group had a slightly higher recurrence rate (28.89% vs. 17.78%, hazard ratio 1.89, 95% CI: 0.78–4.55, p = 0.15) with a shorter median time to recurrence (six vs. 12 months). Progression rates were similar (8.89% MMC vs. 4.44% BCG, p = 0.398). Conclusion: Although BCG and MMC have comparable efficacy in managing high-risk NMIBC, BCG demonstrated a higher rate of adverse reactions. Initially, performed the scientific evidence and then explanation of velocity attained by applying the perturbation approach. Through mathematical calculations, we evaluated the corrugation impact on EMHD velocity flow. The impacts of evolving constraints from attained solutions are studied by intriguing the diagrams. The significant hypothesis is that decrease the imperceptible wave consequence on the velocity for the minor value of amplitude proportion parameter. For the small value of amplitude, the curvy phenomenon becomes understandable. In graphical results trapped bolus appears for out phase corrugations. From this study, we have come up with the result that the velocity achieves the extreme value in the mid of the channel. The velocity profile declines for the Reynolds number. The reason is that for the greater amount of the Reynolds number, the velocity fluctuates quickly by lesser amplitudes. The velocity profile decay with the growing value of the curving parameter in [−1,0] and grow in [0,1]. Olfaction is critical for survival because it allows animals to look for food and detect pheromonal cues. Neuropeptides modulate olfaction and behaviors in insects. While how the neuroregulation of olfactory recognition affects foraging behavior in termites is still unclear. Here, we analyzed the change after silencing the olfactory co-receptor gene (Orco) and the neuropeptide Y gene (NPY), and then investigated the impact of olfactory recognition on foraging behavior in Odontotermes formosanus under different predation pressures. The knockdown of Orco resulted in the reduced Orco protein expression in antennae and the decreased EAG response to trail pheromones. In addition, NPY silencing led to the damaged ability of olfactory response through downregulating Orco expression. Both ds Orco - and ds NPY -injected worker termites showed significantly reduced walking activity and foraging success. Additionally, we found that 0.1 pg/cm trail pheromone and nestmate soldiers could provide social buffering to relieve the adverse effect of predator ants on foraging behavior in worker termites with the normal ability of olfactory recognition. Our orthogonal experiments further verified that Orco / NPY genes are essential in manipulating termite olfactory recognition during foraging under different predation pressures, suggesting that the neuroregulation of olfactory recognition plays a crucial role in regulating termite foraging behavior. Solar thermal systems have low efficiency due to the working fluid's weak thermophysical characteristics. Thermo-physical characteristics of base fluid depend on particle concentration, diameter, and shapes. To assess a nanofluid's thermal performance in a solar collector, it is important to first understand the thermophysical changes that occur when nanoparticles are introduced to the base fluid. The aim of this study is, therefore, to analyze the hydrodynamic and heat characteristics of two different water-based hybrid nanofluids (used as a solar energy absorber) with varied particle shapes in a porous medium. As the heat transfer surface is exposed to the surrounding environment, the convective boundary condition is employed. Additionally, the flow of nanoliquid between two plates (in parallel) is observed influenced by velocity slip, non-uniform heat source-sink, linear thermal radiation. To make two targeted hybrid nanofluids, graphene is added as a cylindrical particle to water to make a nanofluid, and then silver is added as a platelet particle to the graphene/water nanofluid. For the second hybrid nanofluid, CuO spherical shape particles are introduced to the graphene/water nanofluid. The entropy of the system is also assessed. The Tiwari-Das nanofluid model is used. Aims: To report spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings in cases of impending or occult central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) in which a diagnosis other than CRAO was made on initial presentation. Methods: Retrospective, observational case series of patients diagnosed with CRAO for whom on initial presentation fundal examination and OCT findings were deemed unremarkable and/or a diagnosis other than CRAO was made. OCT images from the initial presentation were then reviewed for evidence of inner retinal ischaemia. Results: In total, 214 cases of CRAO were identified. Eleven patients (5.14%) had been given an alternative initial diagnosis at their first presentation in casualty and were included. The age range was 20–84 years and 81% (9/11) were male. On review of initial OCT imaging performed in casualty, all cases had evidence of inner retinal ischaemia. Conclusions: CRAO is an ophthalmic emergency which leads to vision loss which is often irreversible. Examination of the fundus may be normal early in the course of the disease and therefore a timely diagnosis may be missed. This case series reports the OCT findings of inner retinal ischaemia in patients with occult or impending CRAO which may aid in the early diagnosis and referral to stroke services. Objective: The aim of this study was registration of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) in Yazd (the first phase of registration). Materials and Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study on the first phase registration of T1DM in Yazd, Iran. Participants in this study included all patients diagnosed with T1DM by an endocrinologist. Data were analyzed by SPSS20 statistical software. Non-parametric tests were used in this study. Median ± Range was used to describe the data. Stata 13 software was used to calculate the confidence interval for the prevalence. Results: Yazd T1DM registry (YT1DMR) was conducted from June 2018 to August 2020. All new and old cases of T1DM were registered. YT1DMR was able to identify 158 T1DM and it registered the data of 128 patients. The age of the participants was between 2.5 - 57 years old. Median ± Range of age in these participants was calculated 17 ± 54.5. In terms of gender, (57.81%, CI= 48.76-66.48) of these patients were male. The prevalence of overweight and obesity in these patients was 17.32 (CI= 11.18- 25.04) and 6.29% (CI= 2.75-12.03), respectively. In this study, the hydrodynamics of the negatively buoyant supersonic steam jet injected into the water has been investigated based on the effects imparted by its density difference with the water in free and confined configurations. In case of both the upward and downward steam's free injection, the steam jet-water flow has shown a clear deviation from the non-dimensionalized Boussinesq character. However, in the confined injection, the steam jet creates recirculation regions contributing to enhancing mixing with the water. The generation of recirculation regions owes to the existence of the low-pressure regions at the nozzle exit, baroclinic torque and buoyantly influenced flows, which is associated with the density difference between the steam and water and the shear between the two phases. The buoyancy affects the flow domains in a nonuniform manner. To achieve this, we employ numerical techniques to address the intricate fluid flow problems that arise due to the presence of these nanoparticles. Fractal complexities are linked to critical phenomena, such as mixing and mass transport, at the turbulent/non-turbulent interface of shear layers and boundary layers. This study primarily concentrates on the phenomena of heat and mass transfer, with a focus on estimating thermal conductivity models that have significant impacts on the flow of metallic nanofluids under convective conditions. The combination of a high thermal conductivity model with a novel interfacial fractal theory reveals a substantial effect on heat and mass transfer enhancement. Furthermore, this research explores hybrid types of porous channel geometries under the combined influence of magnetohydrodynamics and chemical reaction mechanisms in the presence of metallic nanoparticles. A comprehensive numerical analysis of higher-order nonlinear differential equations is conducted, which exposes the flow field’s behavior concerning momentum, energy, and mass transfer. Simple Summary: Almost all insects demonstrate a wide variety of behavioral, physiological, biochemical and molecular circadian rhythms during their natural selection process. Some examples of the circadian rhythm in insects include the sleep–wake cycle, foraging time, migration and hormone fluctuation. Although the circadian rhythms of activities have been studied in several termite species, the molecular mechanisms of circadian rhythms in termites are unclear. In this study, we observed that, even in complete darkness, the termites Reticulitermes chinensis and Odontotermes formosanus showed clear circadian rhythms of locomotor activity. Knockdown of the clock genes cryptochrome 2 (Cry2) and period 1 (Per1) impaired the circadian rhythms of locomotor activity in constant darkness in the two termite species. We verified that locomotor activity in subterranean termites is controlled by the circadian clock. Thus, this study contributes to a better understanding of circadian clock mechanisms in subterranean insects. Locomotor activity rhythms are crucial for foraging, mating and predator avoidance in insects. Although the circadian rhythms of activity have been studied in several termite species, the molecular mechanisms of circadian rhythms in termites are still unclear. In this study, we found that two termite species, R. chinensis and O. formosanus, exhibited clear circadian rhythms of locomotor activity in constant darkness along with rhythmically expressed core clock genes, Cry2 and Per1. The knockdown of Cry2 or Per1 expression in the two termite species disrupted the circadian rhythms of locomotor activity and markedly reduced locomotor activity in constant darkness, which demonstrates that Cry2 and Per1 can mediate the circadian rhythms of locomotor activity in termites in constant darkness. Al: ZnO films are prepared by spraying from the pure ZnO and Al with doping at different weight ratios 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, and 0.09. X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy are used to analyze the structural properties of the films. The results of X-ray diffraction prove that polycrystalline Al:ZnO with a hexagonal wurtzite structure is preferentially oriented on the c-axis, and this is further confirmed by transmission electron microscopy. In addition, 0.09 wt% of Al-doping shows high orientation and homogeneity with the (002) plane, which leads to an increase in the surface roughness properties of the thin films as the root main square by 57.4%. The annealing process at high temperatures increases the conductivity of the Al:ZnO films. The rate of electronic mobility increases slightly with low doping and decreases with increasing doping until it reaches its lowest value (0.1 cm2 (V.s)−1) at a doping ratio of 0.035 wt%. The samples show considerable response for CO at 80 ppm gas concentration with gas responses of 85% and 40% at 90 °C for 0.03 wt% Al:ZnO and ZnO films, respectively. The overall study observed that fabricated sensor Al3+-doped ZnO is reliable and very rapid in detecting carbon monoxide vapors at moderately high temperatures and low gas concentrations. Objective: To evaluate the effect of semirigid ureteroscopy and tamsulosin therapy as dilatation methods before flexible ureteroscopy advancement to the renal collecting system. Patients and methods: This prospective study included patients with renal stones less than 2 cm who underwent retrograde flexible ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy. The patients were randomized into two groups: group A patients were given a placebo for 1 week before flexible ureteroscopy, and group B patients were administered 0.4 mg of tamsulosin once daily for 1 week before surgery and underwent active dilatation using semirigid ureteroscopy before flexible ureteroscopy. The ability of the flexible ureteroscope to reach the collecting system in both groups during the same operative session was assessed. Operative outcomes and complications were collected and analyzed in both groups. Results: A total of 170 patients were included in our study, with each group comprising 85 patients. In group B, the flexible ureteroscope successfully accessed the kidney in 61 patients, while in group A, the flexible ureteroscope was successful only in 28 cases (71.4% versus 32.9%). In group A, 33 (38.8%) patients had lower urinary tract symptoms compared to 17 (20.2%) patients in group B (P = 0.013). Conclusion: Using tamsulosin therapy and semirigid ureteroscopy as dilatation methods before flexible ureteroscopy increased the success of primary flexible ureteroscopy advancement to renal collecting system. Grapes are sprayed with an array of agro-chemicals to eliminate the danger of damaging pests that demands a strategic post-harvest storage. Modified atmospheric storage (MAS) using treatments T0 at 10 °C and 'T0 at 20 °C, both with 0 % carbon dioxide while T1 at 10 °C and T2 at 20 °C, both with 10% carbon dioxide, were applied for 3 doses (recommended dose, double than recommended and triple dose) of pesticides on two varieties of grapes under field conditions. Samples were taken at 0th day, 3rd day, 7th day, 15th day, 20th day, 25thday, 30th day and 33rd day intervals from MAS and were extracted using acetonitrile (ACN) and cleaned up by florisil adsorbent column. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), equipped with diode array detector, ODS-Hypersil C-18 column was used to separate and quantify the pesticides by employing ACN-MeOH mobile phase with a flow rate of 1 mL min−1 in gradient mode. Mathematical model (Yt = Y0e−kt) was applied on average of all doses, which fitted best to the first order kinetics. Half-lives (HLs-50% of residues decayed) and DT90 (90% of residues decayed) values were also calculated. Regarding HLs of acetamiprid, best treatments were T1 and T2 where T1 (7.51) and T2 (4.02) presented good decay at low temperature when CO2 was used in combination and also reported good shelf stability of grapes. Likewise, the trend was witnessed from cymoxanil and difenconazole pesticides and grape varieties. Moreover, black grape variety indicated more degradation of residues as compared to perlette, which could be attributed to its acidity, composition and anatomical structure. The aesthetic constancy and functional stability of periodontium largely depend on the presence of healthy mucogingival tissue. Soft tissue management is crucial to the success of periodontal surgery. Recently, synthetic substitute materials have been proposed to be used for soft tissue augmentation, but the tissue compatibility of these materials needs to be further investigated. This study aims to assess the in vitro responses of human gingival mesenchymal stromal cells (hG-MSCs) cultured on a Gelatin/Polycaprolactone prototype (GPP) and volume-stable collagen matrix (VSCM). hG-MSCs were cultured onto the GPP, VSCM, or plastic for 3, 7, and 14 days. The proliferation and/or viability were measured by cell counting kit-8 assay and resazurin-based toxicity assay. Cell morphology and adhesion were evaluated by microscopy. The gene expression of collagen type I, alpha1 (COL1A1), α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), fibroblast growth factor (FGF-2), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-β1), focal adhesion kinase (FAK), integrin beta-1 (ITG-β1), and interleukin 8 (IL-8) was investigated by RT-qPCR. The levels of VEGF-A, TGF-β1, and IL-8 proteins in conditioned media were tested by ELISA. GPP improved both cell proliferation and viability compared to VSCM. The cells grown on GPP exhibited a distinct morphology and attachment performance. COL1A1, α-SMA, VEGF-A, FGF-2, and FAK were positively modulated in hG-MSCs on GPP at different investigation times. GPP increased the gene expression of TGF-β1 but had no effect on protein production. The level of ITG-β1 had no significant changes in cells seeded on GPP at 7 days. At 3 days, notable differences in VEGF-A, TGF-β1, and α-SMA expression levels were observed between cells seeded on GPP and those on VSCM. Meanwhile, GPP showed higher COL1A1 expression compared to VSCM after 14 days, whereas VSCM demonstrated a more significant upregulation in the production of IL-8. This study aimed to investigate the effects of nano and organic selenium on ovarian activity, fertility rate, and progesterone hormone levels in Ossimi ewes. Thirty ewes were treated with intra-vaginal sponges impregnated with medroxyprogesterone acetate (40 mg) for 14 d and simultaneously assigned randomly to three groups. The 1st group ewe served as control (CG). Ewes in the 2nd and 3rd groups were treated orally with organic selenium 3 mg/ewe and Nano-selenium 0.2 mg/ewes during intra-vaginal sponges (IVS) treatment SeG and N-SeG, respectively. The ovarian activity was monitored using an ultrasonic device, and serum samples were harvested for progesterone measurement. The results revealed that ewes in SeG and N-SeG groups had a significantly (p <.05) higher number of small and large follicles after 48 h of IVS withdrawal than in the CG, respectively, on the left ovary. Also, the N-SeG group had a larger diameter of the Corpus luteum on both ovaries' sides than CG, respectively, at the same time. However, the diameter of large follicles on both ovaries was significantly (p <.05) larger in the N-SeG after 72 h of IVS withdrawal than in SeG and CG. The ewes in N-SeG and SeG came in oestrus earlier (p <.05) than those in CG, and the oestrus durations were longer (p <.05) than that recorded in ewes of CG. The oestrus response and fertility rate were higher (p <.01) in N-SeG and SeG than in CG. Moreover, the progesterone concentrations were significantly higher (p <.05) in the N-SeG and SeG after 48 and 72 h of IVS withdrawal than in the CG. Also, the recorded serum progesterone concentrations in the included ewes non-significantly differed between groups during the first four months of pregnancy. It could be concluded that using nano and organic selenium can improve the quality of ovarian follicles and CL function and enhance the fertility rate in Ossimi ewes. Introduction: Migraine is a common debilitating neurological disorder affecting a large proportion of the general population. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), a 37-amino acid neuropeptide, plays a key role in the pathophysiology of migraine, and the development of therapies targeting the anti-CGRP pathway has revolutionized the field of migraine treatment. Methods: An expert task force of neurologists in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) developed and critically assessed recommendations on the use of CGRP-based therapies in migraine treatment and management in the UAE, based on available published literature. A consensus was reached for each statement by means of an open-voting process, based on a predefined agreement level of at least 60%. Results: The consensus recommendations advocate the need for guidelines for the appropriate use of CGRP-based therapies by defining patient cohorts and appropriate monitoring of therapeutic response as well as standardizing the initiation, assessment, and cessation of treatment. The consensus recommendations were primarily formulated on the basis of international studies, because of the limited availability of regional and local data. As such, they may also act as guidelines for global healthcare providers. Conclusions: These are the first consensus recommendations for the UAE that address the use of CGRP-based therapies in the treatment and management of migraine, integrating both clinical evidence and medical expertise to enhance clinical judgment and decision-making. Study Design: Cross-sectional Objective: This study evaluated the various reasons and causes for odontophobia among Saudi parents accompanying pediatric patients at King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on a total number of 300 parents (Male=150; Female=150) who participated in the study with age ranges from 30- to 55-year-old to know the various reasons and causes for odontophobia among Saudi parents accompanying pediatric patients attending dental clinic in college of dentistry, King Khalid University, Abha. The Questionnaire was given to Saudi parents accompanying pediatric patients attending dental clinics and data was collected from them. The data were entered and analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 20). A P-value of less than 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results: The majority of participants, 189(63%) were, said that they have experience of dental fear and anxiety in their lifetime period. 255(85%) agreed that they have come across one of their relatives or friends having the fear of dental treatment. Parents experienced various reasons for the cause of their dental fear, one of the major factors for dental fear they told was having the dentist remove their tooth (26%). Parents 155 (52%) stated that they visited dental clinic for treatment very often and 66(22%) visited rarely. Conclusions: Recognizing the level of fear that prevents patients from seeking dental care and understanding the occurrence of dental anxiety hold crucial importance in dental practice. While only a small percentage of subjects reported dental fear or would consider refusing dental consultations, assessing dental fear provides valuable insights for dental practitioners.
