Osteoporotic fracture ( OPF), also known as fragility fracture, is a pathological fracture with a high prevalence in the elderly population, which seriously affects the quality of life of elderly patients due to its high mortality and disability rate. Studies have shown that most elderl y patients with osteoporotic fractures have a pathological relationship between muscle and bone imbalance, which is highly compatible with the disharmony between bone and muscle theory in traditional Chinese medicine. Muscles are anatomically adjacent to bones. There is increasing ev idence showing that muscles are involved in bone repair to promote bone health. Therefore, under the guidance of the disharmony between bone and muscle theory, the paper reviews the latest research progress in the mechanism of muscle action in the treatment of osteoporotic fractures in the elderly, aiming to enrich the modern scientific connotation of the theory of disharmony between bone and muscle and to provide new ideas and solutions for the prevention and treatment of OPF.
