The emission of greenhouse gaseous to the atmosphere as a consequence of the utilization of fossil fuels has significantly contributed to global warming and sudden climax change which aroused a lot of concerns. This occurrence has indirectly spurred interest in hydrogen energy as a future alternative energy due to its environmentally friendly, high efficiency and long-term energy storage. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water-splitting is a top-notch approach that can efficiently produce hydrogen. Moreover, semiconductor materials like bismuth sulfide have often been used as photoanode material in the PEC water-splitting study due to their narrow bandgap, high optical absorption coefficient, appropriate band alignment and low toxicity. Yet, Bi2S3 photoanode suffers from the rapid recombination of charge carriers which ultimately leads to sluggish water oxidation kinetics and poor charge transfer. Interestingly, the fabrication of fibrous silica bismuth sulfide (FSBS) not only demonstrated a low bandgap energy level but also effectively separated the photoproduced charges. In addition, the FSBS photoanode also showed a photocurrent density of 47.9 mA/cm2 at 1.23 VRHE which is 1.78 times greater than the commercial BS photoanode (26.9 mA/cm2). These findings indirectly exposed the potential of FSBS photoanode towards a sustainable PEC water-splitting application.

The SOFC simulations in this research are conducted at temperatures of 600°C, 700°C, and 800°C, focusing on the Ni-SDC anode, SDC electrolyte, and LSCF-SDC materials used in the SOFC single cell. Initially, the single-cell model is created using CAD software, followed by the development of a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model with the requisite material properties. The study then proceeds to simulate temperature distribution and cell performance for various supported SOFC stack models (electrode and electrolyte supported) at intermediate temperatures. Subsequently, the study examines cell performance with varying thicknesses of the anode, electrolyte, and cathode components within the specific supported single cell. In summary, the CFD results indicate that cathode-supported SOFCs exhibit higher power density, specifically 938.28 mW/cm2 at 800°C, surpassing anode-supported and electrolyte-supported configurations. The power density reaches 1495.40 mW/cm2 when the single-cell layer thickness is 0.35 mm for the cathode, 0.02 mm for the anode, and 0.01 mm for the electrolyte. However, electrolyte-supported single cells display the lowest temperature difference, at 0.028% at 800oC The simulation results demonstrate that reducing the thicknesses of all electrodes and the electrolyte leads to increased current density, power density, and temperature distribution difference.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a web-based health information intervention on knowledge, care burden and attitudes of family caregivers of patients with dementia. This study is a unblinded randomised controlled trial. The study population consisted of family caregivers of patients with dementia (n = 50) which were randomly allocated to the intervention group (access to the web-based health information) or control group (access to information as usual). The participants completed knowledge, care burden and attitude questionnaire at baseline and at two months follow-up. A total of 50 caregivers participated in this study. Before the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference between the knowledge, care burden and attitude score between the two groups. In comparison to the control group after the intervention, participants in the intervention group showed significant improvements in all outcomes. These findings provide further evidence that web-based information interventions helped caregivers feel more confident, empathetic and concerned about dementia care with less care burden. Several models and frameworks have been proposed by researchers for the management of research data over the past few years. These models and frameworks may help organizations and researchers evaluate various aspects of implementing research data management systems. Thus, this study aims to identify the principal dimensions and necessary practices of research data management based on a systematic review. A systematic search of PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and LISTA databases was conducted by October 2021 to identify relevant studies. Two authors screened all retrieved articles in three stages (title, abstract, and full text). Based on the refined studies, data were extracted to fulfil the objectives and answer the research questions. According to the analysis of articles, research data management can be categorized into four main dimensions: data, researchers, organizations, and technology. Data processing, data protection, data legal issues, and data sharing are the main practices of the data dimension. The researcher's dimension is educating, changing the mindset, and motivating researchers. On the organizational dimension, the essential practices supply human resources, policymaking, interaction, and support. On the technology dimension, the most significant practices include: Establishing software and hardware infrastructures. This study demonstrates that research data management is a systematic process involving various stakeholders and facilities, each cooperating and coordinating various activities. To manage research data, researchers, policymakers, research organizations, and trained staff are among the most important participants, and technical facilities are vital to its success. Antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the top pharmaceutical contaminants that have been often found in the aquatic environment. The presence of these contaminants in the aquatic environment is of great concern since it has a negative impact on both ecology and human health. In contrast to other tertiary treatments, adsorption stands out as a viable treatment approach since it provides benefits such as easier operating conditions with no byproduct formation. Commercial activated carbon is widely researched as a pharmaceutical adsorbent, but its large-scale applicability is constrained by its high cost. Agricultural waste also contains a large amount of various functional groups, which may be adapted to surface modification to increase its adsorption ability. In this regard, this study is designed to review the recent progress of efficient adsorbents derived from various agricultural wastes for the removal of antibiotics and NSAIDs contaminants from water bodies. A key element in ensuring successful immunization is the efficient delivery of vaccines. However, poor immunogenicity and adverse inflammatory immunogenic reactions make the establishment of an efficient vaccine delivery method a challenging task. The delivery of vaccines has been performed via a variety of delivery methods, including natural-polymer-based carriers that are relatively biocompatible and have low toxicity. The incorporation of adjuvants or antigens into biomaterial-based immunizations has demonstrated better immune response than formulations that just contain the antigen. This system may enable antigen-mediated immunogenicity and shelter and transport the cargo vaccine or antigen to the appropriate target organ. In this regard, this work reviews the recent applications of natural polymer composites from different sources, such as animals, plants, and microbes, in vaccine delivery systems. Natural polymers have received a great deal of interest for their potential use in the encapsulation and transportation of pharmaceuticals and other bioactive compounds for disease treatment. In this perspective, the drug delivery systems (DDS) constructed by representative natural polymers from animals (gelatin and hyaluronic acid), plants (pectin and starch), and microbes (Xanthan gum and Dextran) are provided. In order to enhance the efficiency of polymers in DDS by delivering the medicine to the right location, reducing the medication's adverse effects on neighboring organs or tissues, and controlling the medication's release to stop the cycle of over- and under-dosing, the incorporation of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles with the polymers has engaged the most consideration due to their rare characteristics, such as easy separation, superparamagnetism, and high surface area. The limitations of TiO2 as a photocatalyst such as the larger bandgap energy, which only activates under the UV region, give a lower photocatalytic activity. This study reports the role of the N and Pt co-dopant on the modification of the TiO2 photocatalyst for photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye under different mode preparations, i.e., sequential and vice-versa modes. The sequential mode preparation of the N and Pt co-dopant TiO2 photocatalyst consisted of the initial preparation of the N-doped TiO2 (N-TiO2) under the calcination method, which was then further doped with platinum (Pt) through the photodeposition process labeled as NPseq-TiO2, while the vice-versa mode was labeled as PNrev-TiO2. About 1.58 wt.% of N element was found in the NPseq-TiO2 photocatalyst, while there was no presence of N element detected in PNrev-TiO2, confirmed through an elemental analyzer (CHNS-O) and (EDX) analysis. The optimum weight percentage of Pt for both modes was detected at about ±2.0 wt.%, which was confirmed by inductively coupled plasma-emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). The photoactivity under methylene blue (MB) dye degradation of the NPseq-TiO2 photocatalyst was 2 and 1.5 times faster compared to the unmodified TiO2 and PNrev-TiO2, where the photodegradation rates were, ca., 0.065 min−1 and 0.078 min−1, respectively. This was due to the N elements being incorporated with the TiO2 lattice, which was proven by UV-Vis/DRS where the bandgap energy of NPseq-TiO2 was reduced from 3.2 eV to 2.9 eV. In addition, the N generated a stronger PL signal due to the formation of oxygen vacancies defects on the surface of the NPseq-TiO2 photocatalyst. The higher specific surface area as well as higher pore volume for the NPseq-TiO2 photocatalyst enhanced its photocatalytic activity. Moreover, the NPseq-TiO2 showed the lowest COD value, and it was completely mineralized after 7 h of light irradiation. The preparation order did not affect the Pt dopant but did for the N element. Therefore, it is significant to investigate different mode preparations of the N and Pt co-dopant for the modification of TiO2 to produce a good-quality photocatalyst for photocatalytic study under the photodegradation of MB dye.
