The reaction of (E)-2-(4-fluorobenzylidene)-3,4-dihydronaphthalen-1(2H)-one and (2,4-dinitrophenyl)hydrazine in boiling ethanol containing hydrochloric acid (0.2 mL; 37%) for 1.5 h gave 1-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-2-(2-(4-fluorobenzylidene)-3,4-dihydronaphthalen-1(2H)-ylidene)hydrazine in a 90% yield. Various spectral analyses, including NMR, and X-ray crystallography established the structure of the newly synthesized hydrazone.

The reaction of a mixture of equimolar quantities of 2-acetylbenzofuran and (2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)hydrazine in ethanol containing concentrated hydrochloric acid (0.2 mL; 37%) as a catalyst under reflux for two hours yielded 1-(1-(benzofuran-2-yl)ethylidene)-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)hydrazine. The crude product was purified by crystallization using dimethylformamide to provide the title heterocycle in a 90% yield. The structure of the new heterocycle was confirmed through X-ray diffraction and spectral analyses.

The reaction of equimolar quantities of 3-(1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde and (2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)hydrazine in ethanol containing concentrated hydrochloric acid (0.2 mL; 37%) as a catalyst under reflux for 2 h yielded 1-(1-(benzofuran-2-yl)ethylidene)-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)hydrazine. The crude produced was purified by crystallization using dimethylformamide to provide the title heterocycle in a 95% yield. The structure of the newly synthesized heterocycle was confirmed through X-ray diffraction and spectral analyses.

The reaction of 2-bromo-1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one (1) with 4-amino-5-((2,4-dichlorophenoxy)methyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (2) in absolute ethanol in the presence of triethyl amine as catalyst gave 2-((4-amino-5-((2,4-dichlorophenoxy)methyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)-1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one (3) in 73% yield. The structure of the title heterocycle (3) was confirmed by X-ray single crystal diffraction and spectral analyses (NMR and IR).

The reaction of a 1:1 mixture of 3-(benzofuran-2-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde (1) and 2-((4-methoxyphenyl)imino)-3-phenylthiazolidin-4-one (2) in anhydrous ethanol containing piperidine as a catalyst under reflux for 4 h gave (2Z,5Z)-5-((3-(benzofuran-2-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)methylene)-2-((4-methoxyphenyl)imino)-3-phenylthiazolidin-4-one (3), C34H24N4O3F, in 82% yield. The structure of the newly synthesized heterocycle was confirmed via X-ray diffraction and spectral analyses.

The reaction of equimolar equivalents of 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbohydrazide (1) and 2-acetylbenzofuran (2) in anhydrous ethanol containing a catalytic amount of concentrated hydrochloric acid under reflux for 2 h gave (E)-N’-(1-(benzofuran-2-yl)ethylidene)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbohydrazide (3) in 86% yield. The structure of the title heterocycle 3 was confirmed using nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction.

A promising imidazole compound was synthesized through the following route. The reaction of 5-methyl-2-phenyl-1H-imidazole-4-carbohydrazide (1) with carbon disulfide and potassium hydroxide in ethanol (80%) afforded potassium salt (2). Refluxing of (2) with phenacyl bromide (3) in ethanol/water (1:1) gave 2-((5-(5-methyl-2-phenyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl)thio)-1-phenylethan-1-one (4) in a 76% yield. The structure of the title heterocycle (4) was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and nuclear magnetic resonance.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C25H19N5O3, is composed of two independent molecules with slightly different conformations. The extended structure features N—H...O hydrogen bonds as well as π–π interactions.

Abstract It is critical to take safety action if carcinogenic heavy metals and ammonia can be detected quickly, cheaply, and selectively in an environmental sample. As a result, compound 4a [4-(1-(2-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)hydrazineylidene)-3-(naphthalen-2-yl)allyl)-5-methyl-1-phenyl-1 H-1,2,3-triazole] and compound 4b [4-(1-(2-(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)hydrazineylidene)-3-(naphthalen-2-yl)allyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-methyl-1 H-1,2,3-triazole] were prepared. The aldol condensation process of 4-acetyl-1,2,3-triazoles 1a,b (Ar = C6H4; 4-FC6H4) with 2-naphthaldehyde yields 1-acetyl-1,2,3-triazoles 1a,b (Ar = C6H4; 4-FC6H4) (5-methyl-1-aryl-1 H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl) -3-(naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-ones 3a,b with a yield of around 95%. The target compounds 4a,b are obtained in around 88% yield by condensation of 3a,b with (2,4-dinitrophenyl)hydrazine in a refluxing acidic medium. Compounds 4a,b exhibited possible colorimetric detection for chromium ion in the range of 0–14 ppm and ammonia in the range of 0–20 ppm. As a result, this research suggests that strong electron-withdraw groups in related probes can improve anion detection ability, while the conjugation effect should also be considered while building structures.

The reaction of 1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one (1) with excess hydroxylamine hydrochloride (2 mole equivalents) in dry ethanol afforded (E)-1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one oxime (2) in 86% yield. The structure of the new heterocycle 2 was confirmed using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, single crystal X-ray and elemental analysis.

A one-pot reaction of an equimolar mixture of 4-methoxyaniline, phenyl isothiocyanate, and 2-bromoacetylbenzofuran in absolute ethanol in the absence of any catalysts afforded 4-(benzofuran-2-yl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-N-phenylthiazol-2(3H)-imine with an 83% yield. Under similar conditions, 4-flouroaniline provided a mixture of the expected 4-(benzofuran-2-yl)-3-(4-fluorophenyl)-N-phenylthiazol-2(3H)-imine and unexpected 4-(benzofuran-2-yl)-N-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-phenylthiazol-2(3H)-imine at an overall 73% yield. The structures of the synthesized heterocycles were confirmed using NMR spectroscopy. The products were recrystallized from dimethylformamide to afford samples suitable for structural determination via single-crystal diffraction. The molecules of the products share a common backbone and have similar conformations. They also display some common intermolecular interactions, including C–H···X (X = N, O, π) and π···π contacts. The molecules differ due to the methoxy and fluoro substituents on their phenyl rings, resulting in variations in the extended network in the crystals. Electron density maps and Hirshfeld surfaces have been used to rationalize the intermolecular contacts.

Reaction of equimolar equivalents of 1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one (1) and N-phenylhydrazinecarbothioamide (2) in boiling ethanol containing a catalytic amount of concentrated hydrochloric acid for 4 h gave (Z)-2-(1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethylidene)-N-phenylhydrazine-1-carbothioamide (3) with 88% yield. The structure of 3 was established using single-crystal X-ray diffraction and magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

A reaction of equimolar equivalents of 2-naphthaldehyde (1) and 1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-one (2) in ethanolic sodium hydroxide at 20 °C for 4 h gave (E)-1-(5-methyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-3-(naphthalen-2-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (3) in 92% yield. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction were used to establish the structure of 3.

2-Cyano-3-(1-phenyl-3-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)acrylamide (3) was synthesized in 90% yield from condensation of equimolar equivalents of 1-phenyl-3-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde (1) and 2-cyanoacetamide (2) in boiling ethanol under basic condition for 45 min. The structure of 3 was determined using NMR spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray diffraction.

A reaction of equimolar equivalents of 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbohydrazide (1) and indoline-2,3-dione (2) in boiling ethanol for 4 h under acidic conditions gave 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl-N’-(2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbohydrazide (3) in 88% yield. The structure of 3 was ascertained by NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Reactions of 1-(5-methyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)ethan-1-ones and benzaldehydes in ethanol under basic conditions gave the corresponding chalcones. Reactions of the chalcones combined with thiosemicarbazide in dry ethanol containing sodium hydroxide afforded the corresponding pyrazolin-N-thioamides. Reactions of the synthesized pyrazolin-N-thioamides and several ketones (namely, ethyl 2-chloro-3-oxobutanoate, 2-bromoacetylbenzofuran, and hydrazonoyl chloride) gave the corresponding novel 2-(1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)thiazoles in high yields (77–90%). Additionally, 2-(4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-4-(1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)thiazoles were obtained in high yields (84–87%) from reactions with N-pyrazoline-thioamides and 4-bromoacetyl-1,2,3-triazoles under basic conditions. The structures of six of the newly synthesized heterocycles were confirmed by X-ray crystallography.

Two new multicomponent crystals consisting of 3,5-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-carbothioamide (1) with 1,3-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one (2) and with dimethylformamide (DMF), both in 1:1 ratio, prepared and structurally characterized. The occurrence of 1 in different crystal structures enabled a comparison of hydrogen bonding contacts between the two structures as well as with the known structure of pure 1. The backbone of molecule 1 was similar in the structures but the orientation of the methoxy groups varied. Molecule 1 was involved in various combinations of the possible hydrogen bonding contacts, including N–H…O=C, N–H…OMe, and N–H…S. Both N–H hydrogens in the cocrystal (1–2) and the solvate (1-DMF) participated in hydrogen bonding but only one hydrogen atom took part in the structure of pure 1. The S atom accepted contacts in both the structures of pure 1 and cocrystal 1–2 but not in that of the 1-DMF solvate. The oxygen atoms of both methoxy groups acted as acceptors in the structure of pure 1, whereas one oxygen was involved in the 1-DMF solvate and none in cocrystal 1–2.

The title compound was synthesized and structurally characterized. Theoretical IR, NMR (with the GIAO technique), UV, and nonlinear optical properties (NLO) in four different solvents were calculated for the compound. The calculated HOMO–LUMO energies using time-dependent (TD) DFT revealed that charge transfer occurs within the molecule, and probable transitions in the four solvents were identified. The in silico absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) analysis was performed in order to determine some physicochemical, lipophilicity, water solubility, pharmacokinetics, drug-likeness, and medicinal properties of the molecule. Finally, molecular docking calculation was performed, and the results were evaluated in detail.
