Purpose: To redesign the spare parts (MRO) inventory management at Company XYZ's warehouse, considering the conditions after the COVID-19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach: To address this research project, the authors integrated three methodologies: action research, Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) and Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining. These methodologies integrated the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) 4.0 framework applied in this project. Findings: The spare parts inventory value was reduced by 15%, and inventory turnover increased by 120% without negatively impacting the internal service level. Practical implications: Practitioners leading or participating in continuous improvement projects (CIPs) should consider data quality (data available and data trustworthiness), problem-solving approach and target area involvement to achieve CIP goals. Otherwise, the LSS 4.0 could fail or extend its duration by several weeks or months. Originality/value: This project shows the importance of controlling a target area before deciding to conduct a LSS 4.0 project. To address this problem, the LSS 4.0 team implemented 5S during the measure phase of the DMAIC. Also, this project offers significant practitioner and theoretical contributions to the body of knowledge about LSS 4.0. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

One of the problems of business analysis is obtaining and processing an ever-increasing volume of economic, financial, organizational, political and legal data. Multimodal business analytics is a new methodology combining the methods of classical business analysis with big data technologies, intelligent business analytics, multimodal data fusion, artificial neural networks and deep machine learning. The purpose of the study is to determine the conceptual foundations of the phenomenon of multimodal business analytics and substantiate the prospects for its use in economic science and practice. Methodologically, the study rests on the systems approach, i.e., multimodal business analytics is examined as a unique integrated phenomenon comprised of several interrelated components. The evidence base covers research studies of 2000–2022 on multimodal business analytics from Scopus and the Russian online database eLibrary.ru. Empirical methods were used to collect and evaluate the dynamics of the number of relevant publications and their segmentation by subject areas. We have proposed own thesaurus and ontology of the key terms that make up the phenomenon of multimodal business analytics. It is shown that the use of the concept allows expanding the range of data, exposing hidden interrelations of organizational and economic phenomena and synthesizing fundamentally new information needed for effective decision-making in business.

Business analysis is a complex mechanism that maximally satisfies the needs of the beneficiaries in obtaining realistic information about the prospects of the enterprise's functioning and its ability to achieve the set goals. The peculiarity of business analysis is that its methodology is tied to the need to evaluate the company's activities based not only on financial information but also on data characterizing environmental, social and other parameters of the constantly changing environment. The article aims to identify the content of the information in the integrated reporting used to achieve business analysis goals. It was found that the data of the integrated reporting is used during the execution of all the main activities of the business analysis. In the context of the implementation of relevant tasks, subjects of business analysis: carry out identification and assessment of the adequacy of enterprise tasks; determine and substantiate ways of solving activity tasks; ensure the selection and evaluation of resources necessary for solving tasks; identify the factors that influence and solve the enterprise tasks, and evaluate their impact; carry out a current assessment of the results of solving tasks. In this regard, it was proposed to disclose in integrated reporting data that enable subjects of business analysis to develop, substantiate and submit to stakeholders for the implementation of a proposal regarding the content of strategic, tactical and operational goals and algorithms for their achievement based on individual business operations, programs, business cases and portfolios. software quality ,business analysis ,requirements ,quality in use ,internal quality ,international standards ,Technology - Abstract
Software quality is a critical aspect of software development that significantly impacts business performance and customer satisfaction. However, defining software quality can be challenging, as different sources provide various definitions and perspectives. The article presents a literature review of software quality, acknowledging an ongoing debate over the years regarding the definition of software quality and the methods used for its assessment. Among all the different ideas about software quality, the article highlights key concepts that are crucial in understanding software quality: meeting requirements, satisfying users, using software features, and spotting defects. The article also checks out international standards like ISO/IEC 25010:2011 and ISO/IEC 5055:2021, introducing terms such as "Quality in use" and "Structural Quality." Unveiling a tripartite perspective elucidated in international standards—internal quality, external quality, and quality in use - the article underscores the intricate interplay between subjectivity and objectivity. The subjective dimension, influenced by user perception and contextual factors, is juxtaposed with more objective criteria such as conformance to requirements and the absence of defects. The standards provide helpful perspectives, but the human side of things, like user feelings and specific contexts, makes finding a universal definition tricky. The pivotal role of business analysis and requirements engineering in ensuring software quality is underscored. Business requirements, stakeholder needs, and the quality of functional and non-functional requirements emerge as integral components. The article argues that software quality is intricately tied to the quality of its requirements, presenting a dual perspective: compliance with quality criteria and alignment with stakeholders' expectations and business goals. Practical software quality assessment is built upon the foundational understanding of contextual nuances, user needs, and operational conditions, all discerned through business analysis.

COMPUTER software developers ,BUSINESS software ,CORPORATE image ,BUSINESS intelligence - Abstract
These days, we are taking part at an increasing rate of business digitization, and without a doubt, we encounter difficulties in maintaining a clear overview of the business processes within an organization. Considering each business flow a puzzle piece of the entire company landscape, we aim to highlight the importance of documenting each 'working piece' with no other priorities. Having this focus in mind, as business intelligence and software developers, we can't imagine this puzzle with a missing piece. Being aware of the fact that a solid base is built piece by piece, both the image of the company and its productivity can suffer because of omissions related to essential details, details that in the context of competition in today's marketplace end up making the difference between the clients' choices. So, each piece, each workflow, no matter how small, is essential to the overall success of a company. In this paper, we wish to emphasize the importance of proper documentation that presumes a wellpointed business analysis, the foundation upon which a successful business thrives. In recent years, the energy consumption structure has been accelerating towards clean and low-carbon globally, and China has also set positive goals for new energy development, vigorously promoting the development and utilization of renewable energy, accelerating the implementation of renewable energy substitution actions, and focusing on improving the consumption capacity of new energy. However, due to the intermittent and unstable characteristics of renewable energy, it is difficult to meet the demands of the power load side in practical applications. Energy storage is an important link for the grid to efficiently accept new energy, which can significantly improve the consumption of new energy electricity such as wind and photovoltaics by the power grid, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the grid system, but energy storage is a high-cost resource. Therefore, this paper focuses on the energy storage scenarios for a big data industrial park and studies the energy storage capacity allocation plan and business model of big data industrial park. Firstly, based on the characteristics of the big data industrial park, three energy storage application scenarios were designed, which are grid center, user center, and market center. On this basis, an optimal energy storage configuration model that maximizes total profits was established, and financial evaluation methods were used to analyze the corresponding business models. Finally, taking an actual big data industrial park as an example, the economic viability of energy storage configuration schemes under two scenarios was discussed, and an energy storage system construction plan was proposed to promote the zero-carbon target of the big data industrial park.

The subject matter of this article is business analysis and requirement engineering (BA/RE) in software projects. The goal is to identify the challenges faced by Ukrainian business analysts and requirement engineers in software development projects and investigate the possible reasons and negative consequences of these issues. The tasks to be solved are: create and conduct a survey on the practices of BA/RE in IT projects, define the most critical problems in BA/RE, their causes and implications, and define how project context influences problems in business analysis and requirement engineering. The methods used are: a survey (N = 324) was performed among business analysts and requirement engineers in Ukraine regarding problems in BA/RE and the context of IT projects in which they manifest. The Chi-Square test of independence and Cramer's V effect size measure were applied to define statistically significant dependencies between project context and BA/RE problems. The following results were obtained: the most critical problems in BA/RE, their causes, and their implications were defined and compared with other comprehensive studies. Twelve statistically significant associations for pairs "project context – BA/RE problem" were found (based on the p-value and Cramer's V effect size measure). Conclusion: 1) A comparison of the results of this study with similar studies conducted in other contexts has shown that the issues identified by Ukrainian BA/RE professionals are similar to those found by other researchers in other countries; 2) it is concluded that project context influences particular BA/RE problems, and these dependencies allow us to develop recommendations for risk management for particular problems depending on the project context.

Twelve statistically significant associations for pairs "project context - BA/RE problem" were found (based on the p-value and Cramer's V effect size measure). ROBOTIC process automation ,PROCESS mining ,TECHNOLOGICAL innovations ,COMPUTER software development - Abstract
Robotic process automation, has revolutionized businesses and operations in the 21st century. This innovative technology makes automated tasks easier than ever before, allowing for faster processes and greater business efficiency. In an age that prizes convenience and speed, robotic process automation's success has been felt in a variety of industries including insurance, healthcare, banking, transportation, and more. Robotic process automation combined with process mining is a game-changing approach to operational efficiency. Through this innovative combination, businesses are able to take advantage of their existing data in order to autonomously and rapidly identify opportunities for automation across their organizational processes. In addition, this allows companies to monitor the performance of the robotically automated processes, enabling them to quickly understand which processes are working and which could benefit from further optimization. With robotic process automation through process mining, companies have streamlined their operations and enhanced customer experience in ways that were not possible just a few years ago. In this paper we aim to highlight the benefits of the fusion of these two technologies, software robots development and process mining, oriented both on the actual implementation, configuration and the final results. Star Model (SM) is a framework used for designing Project-Based Organizations (PBO) with a wide acceptance. Some researchers have chosen the SM considering its completeness, holistic perspective and the interdependence between its five components: Strategy, Process, Behaviour, Human Resources and Structure. For SM use and implementation, this framework is available as a text guideline. If the size and complexity of the designing and analyzing organization increases, this activity could be manual and difficult. Ontologies are a means for describing domain models and provide computational inference useful for the analysis of these models. This paper proposes an ontology of the SM for PBO designing, describing its components and relationships in a high level of abstraction. The resulting model seeks to be helpful for understanding and managing the complexity of the designed organization and a tool for business analysis--the above considering the automatic analysis possibilities available through the computational inference of ontologies. It is well known that in the Croatian economy very little attention is paid to business analysis and business risk management. Also, incompetence and inadequate expertise of top management, as well as superficial and insufficiently professional supervision of business by companies' owners, continuously generate problems with liquidity, over-indebtedness, and losses within Croatian companies. Failure to (timely) address these problems is in essence the cause of a large number of bankruptcies and liquidations of business entities, which ultimately produces serious problems for the Croatian economy in general. In this paper, business analysis and the analysis of business risks of the Uljanik d.d. group. during the period from 2016. to 2017. will be evaluated in order to determine the creditworthiness of the company at that time, respectively before the announcement of the company's bankruptcy in 2019. This paper will try to determine whether the difficulties in business could be promptly identified and whether the company's management structure in the mentioned period could react faster and more decisively based on the assessment of the company's creditworthiness and the knowledge gained during the analysis. The optimal choice of financial and qualitative indicators was used in the evaluation of creditworthiness by which it is possible to make a more reliable assessment of creditworthiness taking into account internal and external factors that affect the company's operations. In the used credit score model, the final credit rating is determined by synthesis and common use of financial and qualitative indicators and provides comprehensive and credible information about the business entity and its business risks and in that way allows the correct business decisions to be taken on time.

SMALL business ,MUSHROOM industry ,RATE of return ,COST effectiveness - Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the income and financial viability of the Crispy mushroom industry in Indonesia for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). As indicators, four techniques are used: revenue/cost (R/C), benefit cost (B/C), return on investment (ROI), and break event point (BEP). Investment appraisal is used to establish whether a financial part of the transaction is possible, based on measurements against stated criteria. The evaluation technique offers several advantages and downsides. As a result, it is preferable to employ multiple methodologies simultaneously when evaluating a business to acquire the best results. It begins by calculating the entire revenue, which comes to 1.64. The total income and total manufacturing expenses exceed zero, resulting in a profit of Rp. 64. Return on Investment (ROI) can be defined as the ratio of net profit to costs in each business, which in this example is 64%. Break Event Point has two searches, one in rupiah and one in number of productions, and in this study, the results of the Break Event Point are 36 pcs, which means that if the Crispy Mushroom produces less than that amount from the total quantity of production, the business will be concerned about cost loss.
