La presente obra estudia a la economía financiera, desde la perspectiva teórica hasta la praxis. Consta de trece capítulos, los cuales constituyen una muestra actualizada de la agenda de investigación de académicos mexicanos interesados en esta rama de la ciencia económica. El conjunto de capítulos que integran esta edición se dividió en seis secciones que aglutinan varios trabajos en tópicos importantes en la materia; desde estudios de frontera, evolución y modelado; portafolios de inversión, índices sectoriales y mercado accionario; mercados de deuda y estructura de tasas de interés, estructura de capital, sistema de pensiones y gestión de riesgos en sistema de retiro; relaciones entre mercados y precios; hasta estrategias de administración de riesgos en activos físicos y financieros. Esta obra y sus contribuciones está dirigida a todos aquéllos lectores interesados en la materia, a los lectores especializados, y a los profesionales tomadores de decisiones en las empresas, instituciones financieras e instituciones gubernamentales.

El desarrollo regional desigual en México es un fenómeno que ha persistido a lo largo de décadas y siglos. Éste se ha caracterizado por marcadas disparidades en términos de ingresos, infraestructuras, acceso a servicios básicos y oportunidades económicas y sociales entre las regiones del país. Trayectorias y realidades del desarrollo económico regional en México subraya la importancia que nos merece la dimensión subnacional del problema económico del país y expone un recorrido de largo alcance a través de las complejas dinámicas que han configurado la geografía de su desarrollo económico. En sus páginas, se revelan historias, desafíos y victorias de las regiones, trazando un mapa de la riqueza geográfica y económica que caracteriza a esta nación. A partir de una extensa revisión bibliográfica, de una base analítica sobre el significado de las regiones y la regionalización, y una investigación rigurosa que abarca casos de estudio significativos (La Comarca Lagunera y el Istmo de Tehuantepec), este libro ofrece una visión detallada y crítica de las disparidades regionales y de los factores que han impulsado o limitado el desarrollo de las diferentes regiones mexicanas. Involucra, también, una reflexión sobre los posibles alcances de reconfiguraciones recientes tanto en el orden internacional (relocalización internacional) como en el nacional (proyectos estratégicos). In recent decades, the financial markets have experienced various crises, shocks and disruptive events, driving high levels of volatility. This volatility is too strong to be fully justified simply by changes in fundamentals. This volume discusses these highly relevant issues with special focus on asset pricing and behavioral finance. Financial price assets of the 2020s appear to be driven by various attractors in addition to fundamentals, and there is no doubt that investor emotions, market sentiment, the news, and external factors such as uncertainty all play a key role. This has been clearly observed in recent years, especially during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has changed the common perception of the way financial markets work.

EBES conferences have been an intellectual hub for academic discussion in economics, finance, and business fields and provide network opportunities for participants to make long-lasting academic cooperation. This is the 26th volume of the Eurasian Studies in Business and Economics (EBES's official proceeding series), which includes selected papers from the 38th EBES Conference which took place in Warsaw. The conference was organized in hybrid mode with both online and in-person presentations at the Faculty of Economics Sciences, the University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland, on January 12-14, 2022. At the conference, 197 papers by 439 colleagues from 50 countries were presented. Both theoretical and empirical papers in this volume cover diverse areas of business, economics, and finance from many different regions.

The COVID-19 global health pandemic, which started in late December 2019, forced many countries to adopt unusual measures such as social distancing and strict lockdowns. It changed many of our certainties and practices, including the foundations of the market-led version of capitalism, by bringing social and health considerations back to the forefront of firms'considerations, investors'strategies and governments'priorities.
