Objective To analyze and summarize the clinical features of one patient with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome presenting with rare and atypical manifestations of headache and visual disturbance. Methods Clinical data of a patient with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome presenting with rare and atypical manifestations of headache and visual impairment were reported. Relevant case reports were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, CNKI and Wanfang Data using Chinese search terms of “visual disturbance”“visual impairment”“headache” and “head pain”, and English search terms of “GQ1b”“vision disorders”“visual disorders”“visual disturbance”“headache”“head pain” and “cephalalgia”, etc. Combined with literature review, the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, laboratory and auxiliary examination and treatment prognosis of patients presenting with this type of manifestations were summarized. Results The 71-year-old male patient had a history of diarrhea at 3 weeks before the onset, manifested with headache and visual disturbance. Cerebrospinal fluid was detected for anti-GQ1b antibody （+） and anti-aquaporin 4 （AQP-4） antibody （-）. He was diagnosed with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome. Headache symptoms were relieved by steroid treatment, and visual acuity was basically restored after 20 d. According to literature reviews, 9 patients with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome were manifested with visual impairment and 5 patients presented with headache. All these patients had a history of pre-infection before the onset of disease. Serum or cerebrospinal fluid anti-ganglioside antibody detection contributed to early diagnosis. Prompt use of steroid hormone or immunoglobulin therapy yielded favorable prognosis. Conclusions Patients with anti-GQ1b antibody syndrome can only present with isolated atypical symptoms, such as headache and visual disturbance, if patients have pre-infection histories, early diagnosis and treatment should be performed.

[Objective] Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi (SBG) is a Chinese medicine. This paper studies the combined effect of initial soil water content and progressive drought on physiological traits and quality of SBG. [Method] The pot experiment was conducted in a mobile water shelter. The initial soil water content in the pots were controlled at 40%, 60% and 80% of the field capacity (FC) to represent severe, moderate, and mild drought, respectively. In each treatment, we measured the biomass, photosynthetic characteristics, osmotic substances, activities of antioxidant enzymes and active ingredients of the plants. [Result] ① No significant difference in biomass accumulation was found between the treatments. ② During the stress period, baicalin content was significantly higher in the 80%FC treatment, baicalein content was significantly higher in the 40%FC treatment and the baicalin content decreased with initial soil water treatment in the order of 40%FC>60%FC>80%FC. When the soil water content was 40%FC and 60%FC, the baicalin content was 17.3% and 11.3% higher than that when soil water content was 80%FC. Change in soil water contents did not have a significant impact on baicalein content. ③ Net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance and intercellular carbon dioxide concentration all decreased as the plants grew, regardless of the soil water treatments. 8-10 d after the onset of water stress, the net photosynthetic rate did not show significant differences between the 60%FC and 80%FC treatments. ④ Under water stress, the content of malondialdehyde and proline in all treatments increased as the plants grew. The proline content was the highest in the 80%FC treatment, reaching 121.66 µg/g. ⑤ The activities of POD and CAT responded to water stress similarly, both increasing gradually as water stress persisted. The impact of soil water on activity of SOD was ranked in the order of 40%FC>60%FC>80%FC. ⑥ The active ingredients were higher in the 40%FC and 60%FC treatments. [Conclusion] Severe progressive drought with the soil water content kept at 40%FC reduced photosynthesis and increased baicalein content, osmolytes and activity of antioxidant enzymes. Mild and severe droughts by keeping the soil water content at 40%FC and 60%FC can improve accumulation of active ingredients in SBG. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: In recent years, simultaneous or sequential occurrence of MOG antibody disease and anti-NMDAR encephalitis in the same patient has been reported with increasing frequency. Scholars refer to the overlapping occurrence of these two disorders as MOG antibody disease and anti-NMDAR encephalitis overlap syndrome (MNOS). Cortical T2-weighted fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) -hyperintense lesions in anti-MOG-associated encephalitis with seizures (FLAMES) is a rare clinical phenotype of MOGAD in which cortical FLAIR high-signal lesions are unilateral, with little spread to the cortex and meninges bilaterally. Although cases of FLAMES have been consistently reported. However, to our knowledge, such cases of FLAMES combined with NMDARE are rare. Case presentation: Here, we describe a case of FLAMES combined with anti-NMDARE. The patient was a young male, 29 years old, admitted to our hospital with isolated seizures, whose MRI showed unilateral thalamic and bilateral frontal and parietal leptomeningeal involvement. Since we were unaware of the possibility of bilateral meningo-cortical MOGAD manifestations, the case was initially diagnosed as viral encephalitis and was given antiviral therapy. The diagnosis was not clarified until anti-NMDAR-IgG and MOG-IgG positivity was detected in the cerebrospinal fluid and serum. The patient was then treated with high-dose corticosteroids and his symptoms responded well to the steroids. Therefore, this case expands the clinical spectrum of MNOS overlap syndrome. In addition, we describe the clinical features of MNOS by summarizing the existing literature and exploring the possible mechanisms of its immune response. Conclusions: Our case serves as a reminder to clinicians that when patients present with atypical clinical manifestations such as seizures, consideration should be given to MNOS and conduct testing for various relevant autoantibodies (including MOG abs) and viruses in both serum and cerebrospinal fluid, as it is easy to misdiagnose the disease as other CNS diseases, such as viral meningoencephalitis. This syndrome exhibits a high responsiveness to steroids, highlighting the critical importance of recognizing the clinical and neuroimaging features of this overlap syndrome for prompt diagnosis and treatment. In this study, novel molecular structure encoding descriptors composed of feature encoding and one‐hot encoding was developed and then convolutional autoencoder was used to denoise based on the structure of ionic liquids (ILs). It could be used to predict the CO2 solubility in ILs at different temperatures and pressures, when combined with three different machine learning algorithms (multilayer perceptron [MLP], random forest [RF], and support vector machine [SVM]). Statistics of the prediction results show that the newly proposed molecular structure‐based coding has better regression prediction performance than the conventional molecular cheminformatics descriptors. SE‐MLP model with R2 of 0.9873 and mean square error of 0.0007 has the best performance in predicting the CO2 solubility in ILs. In addition, the relationship between features and dissolved CO2 capacity was analyzed through model interpretation to retrieve physical insights for the underlying system. This work provided a new predictive tool for enriching and refining data on CO2 solubility in ILs and for solving phase equilibrium problems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cancer is one of the major public health challenges in the world, which is characterized by rapid progression and high mortality. Immunotherapy, represented by PD-1 monoclonal antibody, has significantly improved the efficacy of malignant tumors and has become one of the most popular immunotherapy methods at present. Therefore, there is an increasing demand for novel detection methods for PD-1 monoclonal antibodies. The aim of this work was to establish a rapid, simple, and sensitive immunochromatographic test strip (ICTS) based on the AuNPs enlargement for both visual and instrumental detection of the PD-1 monoclonal antibody concentration. The mixed solution of NH 2 OH·HCl and HAuCl 4 was used as an enhancement solution to lower the detection limit and achieve higher sensitivity. A test strip reader was used to construct a visualized quantitative detection standard curve for the PD-1 monoclonal antibody concentration. The LOD was 1.58 ng/mL through a triple signal-to-noise ratio. The detection time was within 10 min. The constructed test strips can rapidly, accurately, and efficiently detect the concentration of PD-1 monoclonal antibody in real samples.
