- Abstract
A literature review was conducted on ecological study designs, offering a comprehensive overview of these investigations. Their utility in population health research is emphasized, and they serve as a valuable tool for observing the associations between environmental exposures and health across various geographical areas and over time. However, these designs also come with inherent limitations and biases, including the ecological fallacy and the potential oversight of confounding factors. In conclusion, while ecological designs can provide significant insights, they should be used judiciously and with a keen awareness of their constraints. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
