15. Prediction and Online Control for Process Parameters of Vanadium Nitrogen Alloys Production Based on Digital Twin.

Abstract

The production of vanadium nitrogen alloys (VNs) is a chemical reaction process carried out in a closed pusher plate kiln, making real-time monitoring of key parameters challenging. Traditional methods for controlling process parameters are insufficient to meet the demands of production control. And the current production line heavily depends on workers' experience and operates with a relatively low level of automation. In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a method for monitoring, predicting, and online controlling the production process parameters of VNs based on digital twins. Firstly, the process parameter affecting quality in the production process is experimentally selected as the target for prediction and control. Then, the ISSA-GRNN (Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm-Generalized Regression Neural Networks) fusion prediction model is constructed to predict the optimal values and intervals for the process parameter of movement interval. Finally, a digital twin system is developed to integrate the fusion prediction model to achieve real-time monitoring and online control of the production line. And the superiority of the algorithm and the feasibility of online control are verified through experiments. This paper achieves accurate prediction and online control of parameters in the VNs production process and has reduced reliance on workers' production experience. Additionally, it has effectively lowered energy consumption and failure rates, facilitated the transition from traditional kiln production to intelligent production, and thereby supported sustainable development. 19. Evaluation of Maize Hybrids for Resistance to Ear Rot Caused by Dominant Fusarium Species in Northeast China.

Abstract

Ear rot caused by the Fusarium species has led to a decline in maize yield and kernel quality worldwide. The changes in the population structure of pathogens and the widespread planting of susceptible maize varieties have exacerbated the occurrence and harm of ear rot in China. Therefore, it is very important to establish the species composition of Fusarium and evaluate the resistance of the main cultivated hybrids. In this study, 366 single conidial isolates of Fusarium spp. were obtained from three provinces of Northeast China. F. verticillioides, F. subglutinans, F. proliferatum, F. oxysporum, and F. graminearum species complex (FGSC) were identified, with F. verticillioides being the most prevalent with a frequency of 44.0%. Based on the TEF-1α gene sequences analysis, the FGSC populations consisted of two independent species: F. boothii and F. graminearum, which account for 23.8% and 5.7% of the total isolates, respectively. Additionally, the resistance to ear rot by 97 maize hybrids commonly planted in Northeast China was evaluated by inoculation with F. verticillioides during 2021 and 2022. The results showed that the disease parameters of different hybrids varied significantly (p < 0.05). Approximately half of the hybrids had damage rates ranging from 0 to 15%, and 79.4% of the hybrids had a severity rating of less than 5.5. In total, 49 (50.5%) hybrids were rated as moderately resistant, which was the dominant resistance category, and 71 hybrids (73.2%) were identified as moderately to highly resistant to ear rot. Current research confirms that Fusarium ear rot in maize is mainly caused by F. verticillioides in Northeast China, and many hybrids are resistant to the disease. 24. Hybrid Convolutional Neural Network Approaches for Recognizing Collaborative Actions in Human–Robot Assembly Tasks.

Abstract

In the context of sustainable manufacturing, efficient collaboration between humans and machines is crucial for improving assembly quality and efficiency. However, traditional methods for action recognition and human–robot collaborative assembly often face challenges such as low efficiency, low accuracy, and poor robustness. To solve such problems, this paper proposes an assembly action-recognition method based on a hybrid convolutional neural network. Firstly, an assembly action-recognition model is proposed using skeletal sequences and a hybrid convolutional neural network model combining Spatial Temporal Graph Convolutional Networks (ST-GCNs) and One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Networks (1DCNNs) to sense and recognize human behavior actions during the assembly process. This model combines the joint spatial relationship and temporal information extraction ability of the ST-GCN model with the temporal feature extraction ability of the 1DCNN model. By incorporating Batch Normalization (BN) layers and Dropout layers, the generalization performance of the model is enhanced. Secondly, the model is validated on a self-constructed dataset of assembly actions, and the results show that the recognition accuracy of the model can reach 91.7%, demonstrating its superiority. Finally, a digital workshop application system based on digital twins is developed. To test the effectiveness of the proposed method, three sets of control experiments were designed to evaluate both objective and subjective aspects and verify the feasibility of the method presented in this paper. Compared with traditional assembly systems, the proposed method optimizes the recognition of human–robot collaborative assembly actions and applies them to intelligent control systems using digital-twin technology. This intelligent assembly method improves assembly efficiency and saves assembly time. Abstract

The continuous cropping can restrict the large scale and intensive cultivation of muskmelon, and the use of Trichoderma preparation to alleviate the negative effects is an effective mean. Although the impact on rhizosphere soil microbial communities and metabolites after applying Trichoderma are still unclear. In this study, we applied the fermentation broth of Trichoderma viride T23 to muskmelon under continuous cropping, collected rhizosphere soil samples at 60 days after transplantation, and investigated the changes in the microbial communities and metabolites of muskmelon by using high−throughput sequencing and metabolomic analysis, respectively. The results showed that T. viride T23 could effectively reduce the disease index of muskmelon wilt (65.86 to 18) and significantly increase the soil pH value (6.06 to 6.40). Trichoderma viride T23 induced drastic shifts in the richness, structure, and composition of rhizosphere microbial communities, and Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Actinobacteria were the dominant bacterial phyla. Bioactive substances such as scopoletin, erythronic acid, and palmitic acid were significantly upregulated in the rhizosphere soil, which enhanced soil activity. Overall, T. viride T23 resolves the continuous cropping limitation in muskmelon by improving soil physicochemical properties, elevating the biomass and diversity of soil microbial communities, and stimulating the production of soil active substances. Abstract

Fusarium oxysporum (Schl.) f.sp. melonis, which causes muskmelon wilt disease, is a destructive filamentous fungal pathogen, attracting more attention to the search for effective fungicides against this pathogen. In particular, Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have strong antimicrobial properties and they are not easy to develop drug resistance, which provides new ideas for the prevention and control of muskmelon Fusarium wilt (MFW). This paper studied the effects of AgNPs on the growth and development of muskmelon, the control efficacy on Fusarium wilt of muskmelon and the antifungal mechanism of AgNPs to F. oxysporum. The results showed that AgNPs could inhibit the growth of F. oxysporum on the PDA and in the PDB medium at 100-200 mg/L and the low concentration of 25 mg/L AgNPs could promote the seed germination and growth of muskmelon seedlings and reduce the incidence of muskmelon Fusarium wilt. Further studies on the antifungal mechanism showed that AgNPs could impair the development, damage cell structure, and interrupt cellular metabolism pathways of this fungus. TEM observation revealed that AgNPs treatment led to damage to the cell wall and membrane and accumulation of vacuoles and vessels, causing the leakage of intracellular contents. AgNPs treatment significantly hampered the growth of mycelia in the PDB medium, even causing a decrease in biomass. Biochemical properties showed that AgNPs treatment stimulated the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in 6 h, subsequently producing malondialdehyde (MDA) and increasing protective enzyme activity. After 6 h, the protective enzyme activity decreased. These results indicated that AgNPs destroy the cell structure and affect the metabolisms, eventually leading to the death of fungus., (© 2024.
