This paper presents a new structure for switched-capacitor multilevel inverter with octuple voltage gain capability. The proposed inverter utilizes three capacitors, 13 semiconductor switches, three diodes, and an input voltage source to achieve a 17-level output voltage. The switched capacitors naturally achieve voltage balancing without the need for sensors or additional circuits, indicating the ease of control of the proposed structure. To control the inrush current of the switched capacitors, a charge limiting inductor has been utilized in the charging path of the capacitors. This not only reduces the inrush current of the capacitors and the input source current but also enables faster capacitor charging and extends their lifetime. The switches used in the proposed structure can withstand a maximum of 4 times the input voltage value or the half of the maximum output voltage, which is a significant advantage for the proposed structure. A detailed comparison with similar structures is provided to examine the advantages and disadvantages of the suggested inverter. The procedure of self-voltage balancing of the capacitors and the functional modes of the proposed topology has been explained in detail. The proposed structure is suitable for applications such as renewable energy sources transfer to load or grid. The performance of the proposed topology under different conditions is confirmed through simulation in the Matlab\Simulink software and the implementation of the laboratory sample. In this paper, an interleaved DC–DC step-up converter with improved characteristics based on a voltage multiplier rectifier is presented. The proposed converter is presented and analyzed for two different operating duty regions including operating region 1 (0 < D ≤ 0.5), and operating region 2 (0.5 ≤ D < 1). This converter can be used in various applications such as energy storage, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems. This converter is composed of two stages: an interleaved boost stage and a voltage multiplier rectifier stage, which collectively forms its general structure. The interleaved boost stage is a type of two-phase boost converter that transforms the input DC voltage into a high-frequency AC square waveform. This waveform can be readily filtered using smaller capacitors. The square-shaped voltage waveform from the interleaved boost stage is rectified and converted to a high DC voltage by the Voltage Multiplier Rectifier (VMR) stage. The operating regions, the evaluation of the steady-state condition, the voltage gain of the proposed converter's parasitic and ideal models as well as its losses and efficiency analysis have been evaluated. The proposed converter has an efficiency of 97% at the output power of 150 W. The proposed converter is simulated to convert a voltage of 25–159.5 V and to validate the mathematical relationships and simulation results, a laboratory prototype has been developed. Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) have been noticed by researchers due to their high efficiency, low pollution, and high‐power density in distributed generation systems. In this paper, an LCL‐type grid‐tied PEMFC fuel cell power conditioning system is evaluated in a harmonics‐polluted low‐voltage grid. The LCL‐filters can lead to resonance and instability despite their capability to attenuate harmonics. In this research, a transformer has been used to connect the fuel cell inverter to the grid. The grid‐side inductor of LCL‐filter is realized by the leakage inductance of the transformer. In addition, for more effective resonance damping and attenuation of current ripples caused by the grid voltage harmonics, a capacitor voltage comprehensive feedback control has been designed and investigated. The comprehensive feedback control of the capacitor voltage contains proportional, first and second‐order derivative terms. In the proposed control scheme, the capacitor‐current‐feedback is opposed by the capacitor voltage derivative term due to reverse loop gain, which leads to deleting both of these loop gains. As a result, there is no need to utilize a current sensor in this control method. Consequently, the proportional and second‐order derivative terms of the capacitor voltage attenuate the LCL‐filter resonance. A low‐pass filter is also considered in the second‐order derivative loop in the controllable frequency range to ensure system stability. The simulation results of the PEMFC power conditioning system in different conditions confirm the proper attenuation of LCL resonance of grid‐tied inverter, high‐quality current injection to the harmonics polluted grid, the suitable stability, and the appropriate dynamic response for the proposed system. Under the proposed control scheme, the fuel cell power conditioning system demonstrates satisfactory stability. Even when reducing the LCL filter values by 5%–20%, the system maintains its stability effectively. Moreover, the THD of the injected current into the grid, employing the proposed control strategy, has been successfully reduced to an impressive value of 1.97% in a weak and harmonical grid. This paper introduces a new structure of a multi-level inverter (MLI) to generate high-level AC voltages using a low number of switches with a quasi-sine waveform. The small number of driver circuits utilised in bidirectional switches is a salient characteristic of this inverter. Also, the number of conducting switches at each voltage level is low in this structure. This results in lower conduction losses of the switches. The proposed topology can be used as the cascaded structure with different approaches to select the value of voltage sources. Power losses are discussed for the proposed structure. To compare the proposed multi-level inverter and demonstrate its superiority, a comparison has been made with some recently presented topologies. According to the comparison results, the advantage of the proposed structure is producing high voltage levels with a smaller number of switches and driver circuits. To prove the suitable performance of the proposed MLI, a 21-level symmetric and 37-level asymmetric inverter containing 14 switches are designed and simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink program. A laboratory prototype for each of these inverters is implemented. The experimental results finely verify the simulations. This article proposes an enhanced non-isolated high-gain DC-DC converter for interfacing renewable energy sources (RESs). This converter utilizes active switched-inductor (ASL) and switched-capacitor (SC) networks in which the ASL network increases the voltage gain. Furthermore, using the SC network as a multiplier cell helps to reach a high voltage conversion ratio with a proper duty cycle. The main advantages of the proposed converter are the high voltage gain, continuous input current, and low voltage stress on the semiconductor switch and the passive component. Since the voltage stress of the semiconductor element is low, a low ON-state resistance switch is used, which leads to reduced conduction losses. Comprehensive analysis of the steady-state operation in continuous conduction mode (CCM), inductor and capacitor design, and a comparison considering other similar topologies are presented in this article. Also, the parasitic elements are assumed to calculate the DC-Voltage gain and the efficiency of the converter. The 2/3-level hybrid inverters are a combination of three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter and conventional two-level inverter, which has the advantage of both two-level and three-level structures with fewer switches than the NPC inverter. In this paper, a new structure of 2/3 hybrid inverter based on dual-Z-‏source network is proposed. The proposed structure improves the performance of the 2/3-level inverter and increases its independent DC input voltages. The output voltage gain can be obtained by selecting the shoot-through interval appropriately in dual Z-source networks. In addition, shoot-through intervals in Z-source networks allow the inverter to run without dead time, thus increasing the output voltage quality. A modified switching method is presented for the proposed inverter, and the necessary calculations are performed. The proposed structure can be used to connect different distributed generation sources to the load separately from the grid or to the low-pressure network. To meet the higher DC link voltage requirement in distributed energy resources (DERs) such as fuel cells (FCs), wind turbines (WTs), and photovoltaic (PV) systems, DC–DC converters are applied. A voltage‐lift (VL) circuit‐based transformer‐less active switched LC‐network (ASLC) converter with a high‐voltage gain is proposed in this paper. Compared to a similar reference converter, the voltage gain of the proposed converter increases efficiently by adding one extra capacitor and diode. The operation of the converter in continuous current mode (CCM) and discontinuous current mode (DCM), the analysis of the steady‐state condition, and comparative analysis with some similar converters are discussed. Moreover, the parasitic elements are assumed to calculate the DC‐voltage gain and the efficiency of the converter accurately. The performance of the proposed step‐up converter is simulated in the PSIM software. A prototype circuit rating of about 20/280 V, 200 W of converter model is designed, and its performance is validated. The experimental outcomes clarify the feasibility of the proposed converter. Multilevel inverters (MLIs) have made great strides in utilizing renewable energy and industrial applications compared to conventional two‐level inverters in terms of output voltage quality, smaller size of the output filter, and higher efficiency. This paper describes a new diode containing bidirectional topology for single‐phase MLI. This structure is presented to reduce the count of switches, isolated voltage sources, and drivers that can increase the number of output levels modularly. This converter, despite the use of diodes, can feed bidirectionally the low power factor inductive–resistive loads. The proposed structure has been designed to achieve a higher output voltage levels relative to the number of switches, drivers, and direct current (DC) voltage sources. Three different algorithms have been proposed to determine the values of DC voltage sources. To confirm the superiority of the proposed structure, a detailed comparison has been carried out with other MLI topologies. Then the proposed topology is simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment using the nearest level modulation technique. Summary Multilevel inverters are known as essential converters in renewable sources. First, in this paper, a new submodule is presented, and based on it, a new sub‐multilevel inverter is presented. The proposed sub‐multilevel inverter consists of several unidirectional and bidirectional switches and DC voltage sources. Then, the generalized topology, developed in two modular and cascaded modes, is presented to increase production levels. The proposed submodules are connected in series in the modular topology, increasing production levels. The proposed topology to produce the maximum output levels has the minimum number of IGBTs, drivers, DC voltage sources, etc. Mathematical analyses for conduction and switching losses are provided, and mathematical analyses for the number of devices and voltage across the switches are also presented. In addition to the mathematical analysis of losses, the simulation results are also presented. A general comparison of proposed topology components is presented to demonstrate their advantages. This comparison shows that the proposed topology has the minimum number of power electronic devices. In this paper, nearest level modulation is used to control the proposed topology.
