Abstract The injection molding procedure and the compression molding procedure of foamed polypropylene composite are studied. The pore diameter, pore density, and microscopic topography for polypropylene composites was studied by experiments of slicing samples. The foamed temperature is very important for foamed property of the foamed polypropylene composite materials. To analyze the effect of temperature distribution, the virtual boundary meshfree Galerkin method (VBMGM) was employed the radial basis function interpolation method to obtain a detailed discretization formula. The temperature of experiment and numerical calculation from zone a to zone d in different zones of the injection molding procedure is reduced from 406.35 K to 311.63 K; the temperature from Ma zone to Md zone in the compression molding procedure is reduced from 326.35 K to 309.14 K. The experimental observation of the injection molding procedure shows that the foamed property in zone c is ideal, and the average pore diameter and pore density are 26.5 µm and 2.43×109 cells·cm−3 respectively. According to the experimental observation of compression molding process, the foamed property in Md zone is ideal, and the average pore diameter and pore density are 131.2 µm and 6.3×104 cells·cm−3. These results are of great significance to the foam molding of polypropylene composites.

This study was conducted to explore the aging technology of high-grade beef, a total of 12 high-grade fattening Angus longissimus dorsi were selected and aged in dry or wet environment for 3, 5 and 7 d, and the meat basic physicochemical indexes, free amino acids and volatile flavor compounds were compared and analyzed. The severe conditions at high altitudes, where yaks inhabit, contribute to delayed muscular growth and compromised tenderness of their muscle tissue. Myosatellite cells are responsible for the growth and regeneration of skeletal muscle after birth and have the potential to proliferate and differentiate, its development is closely related to meat quality, and the nuclear receptor gene NR1D1 is involved in muscle formation and skeletal muscle regulation. Therefore, in order to understand the effect of NR1D1 on muscle satellite cells, we identified the mRNA expression levels of marker genes specifically expressed in muscle satellite cells at different stages to determine the type of cells isolated. Eventually, we successfully constructed a primary cell line of yak muscle satellite cells. Then we constructed NR1D1 overexpression vector and interference RNA, and introduced them into isolated yak skeletal muscle satellite cells. We performed qPCR, CCK8, and fluorescence-specific to detect the expression of genes or abundance of proteins as markers of cell proliferation and differentiation. Compared with those in the control group, the expression levels of proliferation marker genes KI-67, CYCLIND1, and CYCLINA were significantly inhibited after NR1D1 overexpression, which was also supported by the CCK-8 test, whereas differentiation marker genes MYOD, MYOG, and MYF5 were significantly inhibited. Fluorescence-specific staining showed that KI-67 protein abundance and the number of microfilaments both decreased, while the opposite trend was observed after NR1D1 interference. In conclusion, we confirmed that NR1D1 inhibited the proliferation and differentiation of yak skeletal muscle satellite cells, which provides a theoretical basis for further research on the effect of NR1D1 on improving meat quality traits and meat production performance of yaks.

White matter, a densely packed collection of myelinated axons, plays an essential part in neural networks. With high spatial resolution and deep penetration, multi-photon microscopy (MPM) is promising for white matter imaging in animal models in vivo. The third harmonic generation (THG) signal can be generated from white matter, but the bottom part of the white matter layer generates weak THG due to its high scattering. Here, we demonstrate an in vivo labeling and imaging technology, capable of visualizing the white matter layer in the mouse brain, combining fluorescence labeling with MitoTracker Red and three-photon fluorescence (3PF) microscopy excited at the 1700 nm window. 3PF signals are several times higher than THG signals, resulting in deeper imaging of the white matter layer with the former. Our results indicate that 3PF microscopy is a promising technology for white matter imaging in the deep brain in vivo.

BackgroundThe long interspersed nuclear element 1 (LINE1) retrotransposon has been identified as a specific substrate for fat mass and obesity-related gene (FTO), which facilitates the removal of N6-methyladenosine modifications from its targeted RNAs.MethodsThis study examined the dynamic interaction between FTO and LINE1 in yak tissues and muscle satellite cells, utilizing RT-qPCR, RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP), immunofluorescence staining, and techniques involving overexpression and interference of FTO and LINE1 to elucidate the relationship between FTO and LINE1 in yak tissues and muscle satellite cells.ResultsCloning and analysis of the FTO coding sequence in Jiulong yak revealed a conserved protein structure across various Bos breeds, with notable homology observed with domestic yak, domestic cattle, and Java bison. Comprehensive examination of FTO and LINE1 gene expression patterns in Jiulong yaks revealed consistent trends across tissues in both sexes. FTO mRNA levels were markedly elevated in the heart and kidney, while LINE1 RNA was predominantly expressed in the heart. Immunoprecipitation confirmed the direct interaction between the FTO protein and LINE1 RNA in yak tissues and muscle satellite cells. The FTO–LINE1 axis was confirmed by a significant decrease in LINE1 RNA enrichment following its expression interference in yak muscle satellite cells. Overexpression of FTO substantially reduced the expression of recombinant myogenic factor 5 (MYF5). However, FTO interference had no discernible effect on MYF5 and myoblast determination protein 1 (MYOD1) mRNA levels. Immunofluorescence analysis revealed no alterations in Ki-67 protein expression following FTO interference or overexpression. However, phalloidin staining demonstrated enhancement in the myotube fusion rate of yak muscle satellite cells upon LINE1 interference.ConclusionThis comprehensive mapping of the FTO and LINE1 mRNA expression patterns establishes a direct interaction between the FTO protein and LINE1 RNA in yak. The findings suggest that FTO overexpression promotes muscle satellite cells differentiation, whereas LINE1 negatively regulates myotube fusion. The study provides fundamental insights into the role of the FTO–LINE1 axis in determining the fate of muscle satellite cells in yak, laying a solid theoretical foundation for future investigations.

Abstract Background The growth and development of organism were dependent on the effect of genetic, environment, and their interaction. In recent decades, lots of candidate additive genetic markers and genes had been detected by using genome-widely association study (GWAS). However, restricted to computing power and practical tool, the interactive effect of markers and genes were not revealed clearly. And utilization of these interactive markers is difficult in the breeding and prediction, such as genome selection (GS). Results Through the Power-FDR curve, the GbyE algorithm can detect more significant genetic loci at different levels of genetic correlation and heritability, especially at low heritability levels. The additive effect of GbyE exhibits high significance on certain chromosomes, while the interactive effect detects more significant sites on other chromosomes, which were not detected in the first two parts. In prediction accuracy testing, in most cases of heritability and genetic correlation, the majority of prediction accuracy of GbyE is significantly higher than that of the mean method, regardless of whether the rrBLUP model or BGLR model is used for statistics. The GbyE algorithm improves the prediction accuracy of the three Bayesian models BRR, BayesA, and BayesLASSO using information from genetic by environmental interaction (G × E) and increases the prediction accuracy by 9.4%, 9.1%, and 11%, respectively, relative to the Mean value method. The GbyE algorithm is significantly superior to the mean method in the absence of a single environment, regardless of the combination of heritability and genetic correlation, especially in the case of high genetic correlation and heritability. Conclusions Therefore, this study constructed a new genotype design model program (GbyE) for GWAS and GS using Kronecker product. which was able to clearly estimate the additive and interactive effects separately. The results showed that GbyE can provide higher statistical power for the GWAS and more prediction accuracy of the GS models. In addition, GbyE gives varying degrees of improvement of prediction accuracy in three Bayesian models (BRR, BayesA, and BayesCpi). Whatever the phenotype were missed in the single environment or multiple environments, the GbyE also makes better prediction for inference population set. This study helps us understand the interactive relationship between genomic and environment in the complex traits. Methionine is an amino acid necessary for the growth and development of all animals. Glutathione produced during methionine metabolism can reduce damage to cells caused by oxidative stress. Supplementing restricted amino acids in animals by scientific means will be beneficial to protein synthesis, which will affect the growth and development of animals and will bring huge economic benefits when applied to actual production and life. In this study, we collected three muscle tissues from 24 male Maiwa yaks, which were fattened for three months with different methionine concentrations in their diet. RNA-seq was performed to obtain expression reads. A total of 1116 editing sites were identified by at least two software; the editing site types were mainly T-to-C and A-to-G mutations. We found two significant RNA editing sites presenting high-risk editing types. One was located on the MSRA gene that regulates the reduction of methionine, and the other can make changes to the properties of encoded proteins. This provides further understanding of the mechanism of yak muscle tissue and regulation of gene expression after the addition of methionine to daily rations.

Abstract Background The yak is a symbol of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and provides important basic resources for human life on the plateau. Domestic yaks have been subjected to strong artificial selection and environmental pressures over the long-term. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of phenotypic differences in yak populations can reveal key functional genes involved in the domestication process and improve genetic breeding. Material and method Here, we re-sequenced 80 yaks (Maiwa, Yushu, and Huanhu populations) to identify single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) as genetic variants. After filtering and quality control, remaining SNPs were kept to identify the genome-wide regions of selective sweeps associated with domestic traits. The four methods (π, XPEHH, iHS, and XP-nSL) were used to detect the population genetic separation. Results By comparing the differences in the population stratification, linkage disequilibrium decay rate, and characteristic selective sweep signals, we identified 203 putative selective regions of domestic traits, 45 of which were mapped to 27 known genes. They were clustered into 4 major GO biological process terms. All known genes were associated with seven major domestication traits, such as dwarfism (ANKRD28), milk (HECW1, HECW2, and OSBPL2), meat (SPATA5 and GRHL2), fertility (BTBD11 and ARFIP1), adaptation (NCKAP5, ANTXR1, LAMA5, OSBPL2, AOC2, and RYR2), growth (GRHL2, GRID2, SMARCAL1, and EPHB2), and the immune system (INPP5D and ADCYAP1R1). Conclusions We provided there is an obvious genetic different among domestic progress in these three yak populations. Our findings improve the understanding of the major genetic switches and domestic processes among yak populations.

This study investigated the effects of the dietary protein level and rumen-protected methionine and lysine (RPML) on the growth performance, rumen fermentation, and serum indexes of yaks. Thirty-six male yaks were randomly assigned to a two by three factorial experiment with two protein levels, 15.05% and 16.51%, and three RPML levels: 0% RPML; 0.05% RPMet and 0.15% RPLys; and 0.1% RPMet and 0.3% RPLys. The trial lasted for sixty days. The results showed that the low-protein diet increased the DMI and feed conversion ratio of yaks. The diet supplemented with RPML increased the activities of IGF1 and INS and nutrient digestibility. The high-protein diet decreased the rumen butyrate concentration and increased the rumen isovalerate concentration. The low-protein diet supplemented with RPML increased the rumen pH and the concentrations of total volatile fatty acids, butyrate and NH3-N; the high-protein diet supplemented with a high level of RPML decreased the rumen pH and the concentrations of isobutyrate, isovalerate, propionate and NH3-N. The low-protein diet supplemented with RPML increased the total antioxidant capacity and glutathione peroxidase activity, along with the concentrations of malondialdehyde and amino acids such as aspartic acid, lysine, cysteine, etc. In conclusion, a low-protein diet supplemented with RPML is beneficial for rumen and body health, physiological response, and metabolic status in yaks.

Measurement of blood flow velocity is key to understanding physiology and pathology in vivo. While most measurements are performed at the middle of the blood vessel, little research has been done on characterizing the instantaneous blood flow velocity distribution. This is mainly due to the lack of measurement technology with high spatial and temporal resolution. Here, we tackle this problem with our recently developed dual-wavelength line-scan third-harmonic generation (THG) imaging technology. Simultaneous acquisition of dual-wavelength THG line-scanning signals enables measurement of blood flow velocities at two radially symmetric positions in both venules and arterioles in mouse brain in vivo. Our results clearly show that the instantaneous blood flow velocity is not symmetric under general conditions.

The SIRT1 epigenetic regulator is involved in hepatic lipid homoeostasis. However, the role of SIRT1 in regulating intramuscular fat deposition as well as the pathways and potential epigenetic targets involved remain unknown. Herein, we investigate SIRT1 function, its genome-wide epigenetic target profile, and transcriptomic changes under SIRT1 overexpression during yak intramuscular preadipocytes differentiation. To this end, we analysed the relationship between SIRT1 and intramuscular fat content as well as lipid metabolism-related genes in longissimus dorsi tissue. We found that SIRT1 expression negatively correlates with intramuscular fat content as well as with the expression of genes related to lipid synthesis, while positively correlating with that of fatty acid oxidation-involved genes. SIRT1 overexpression in intramuscular preadipocytes significantly reduced adipose differentiation marker expression, intracellular triacylglycerol content, and lipid deposition. Chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with high-throughput sequencing of H3K4ac (a known direct target of SIRT1) and high-throughput mRNA sequencing results revealed that SIRT1 may regulate intramuscular fat deposition via three potential new transcription factors (NRF1, NKX3.1, and EGR1) and four genes (MAPK1, RXRA, AGPAT1, and HADH) implicated in protein processing within the endoplasmic reticulum pathway and the MAPK signalling pathway in yaks. Our study provides novel insights into the role of SIRT1 in regulating yak intramuscular fat deposition and may help clarify the mechanistic determinants of yak meat characteristics.

Abstract Background Interspecific hybridization plays vital roles in enriching animal diversity, while male hybrid sterility (MHS) of the offspring commonly suffered from spermatogenic arrest constitutes the postzygotic reproductive isolation. Cattle-yak, the hybrid offspring of cattle (Bos taurus) and yak (Bos grunniens) can serve as an ideal MHS animal model. Although meiotic arrest was found to contribute to MHS of cattle-yak, yet the cellular characteristics and developmental potentials of male germline cell in pubertal cattle-yak remain to be systematically investigated. Results Single-cell RNA-seq analysis of germline and niche cell types in pubertal testis of cattle-yak and yak indicated that dynamic gene expression of developmental germ cells was terminated at late primary spermatocyte (meiotic arrest) and abnormal components of niche cell in pubertal cattle-yak. Further in vitro proliferation and differentially expressed gene (DEG) analysis of specific type of cells revealed that undifferentiated spermatogonia of cattle-yak exhibited defects in viability and proliferation/differentiation potentials. Conclusion Comparative scRNA-seq and in vitro proliferation analysis of testicular cells indicated that not only meiotic arrest contributed to MHS of cattle-yak. Spermatogenic arrest of cattle-yak may originate from the differentiation stage of undifferentiated spermatogonia and niche cells of cattle-yak may provide an adverse microenvironment for spermatogenesis.

The concentration of intramuscular fat (IMF) is a crucial determinant of yak meat quality. However, the molecular mechanisms that regulate IMF in yak remain largely elusive. In our study, we conducted transcriptome sequencing on the longissimus dorsi muscle tissues of yaks with varying IMF contents. We then filtered differentially expressed genes (DEGs), microRNAs (DEMs), and long non-coding RNAs (DELs) to elucidate potential regulatory pathways of adipogenesis in yaks. Overall, our research sheds light on an array of potential mRNAs and noncoding RNAs implicated in IMF deposition and elaborates on the role of HIF1α in yaks. These findings contribute valuable insights that can serve as a guide for further research into the molecular mechanisms governing IMF deposition.

This study aims to investigate the effect of methionine analogue 2-hydroxy-4-methylthiobutanoic acid isopropyl ester (HMBi) on the rumen microbial community, microbial carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZy), and protein metabolism pathways in yak. Twenty-four male Maiwa yaks (252.79 ± 15.95 kg) were selected and randomly divided into groups that received the basal diet alone, or a diet supplemented with different amounts of HMBi (5 g, 10 g or 15 g). At the phylum level, the group receiving 5 g of HMBi showed a considerably higher relative abundance of Lentisphaerae than the other treatment groups (p < 0.05). The relative abundance of Actinobacteria decreased linearly with the increase in HMBi supplemental levels (p < 0.05). The relative abundance of Prevotella increased linearly with the increasing level of HMBi supplementation (p < 0.05). The relative abundance of Butyrivibrio linearly decreased (p < 0.05), and the relative abundance of Alistipes tended to linearly decrease (p = 0.084). The addition of HMBi had linear or quadratic effects on the relative abundance of CAZy enzymes and functional proteins in the rumen of yak (p < 0.05). Conclusively, these results indicated that feeding yaks a diet supplemented with HMBi is an excellent strategy to enhance carbohydrate breakdown, and improve rumen microbial structure and function.

To contribute to the conservation of endangered animals, the utilization of model systems is critical to analyze the function of their gut microbiota. In this study, the results of a fecal microbial transplantation (FMT) experiment with germ-free (GF) mice receiving giant panda or horse fecal microbiota showed a clear clustering by donor microbial communities in GF mice, which was consistent with the results of blood metabolites from these mice. At the genus level, FMT re-established approximately 9% of the giant panda donor microbiota in GF mice compared to about 32% for the horse donor microbiota. In line with this, the difference between the panda donor microbiota and panda-mice microbiota on whole-community level was significantly larger than that between the horse donor microbiota and the horse-mice microbiota. These results were consistent with source tracking analysis that found a significantly higher retention rate of the horse donor microbiota (30.9%) than the giant panda donor microbiota (4.0%) in GF mice where the microbiota remained stable after FMT. Further analyzes indicated that the possible reason for the low retention rate of the panda donor microbiota in GF mice was a low relative abundance of Clostridiaceae in the panda donor microbiota. Our results indicate that the donor microbiota has a large effect on GF mice microbiota after FMT.

The second-generation spaceborne LiDAR-Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) carries the Advanced Topographic Laser Altimeter System (ATLAS), which can penetrate a certain depth of water, and is one of the important means to obtain the water depth information of nearshore water. However, due to the influence of the atmospheric environment, water quality and color, the system itself and other factors, the photon point cloud introduces survey noise, which restricts the survey accuracy and reliability of nearshore water depth. Therefore, in this study, we presented a photon denoising algorithm for layered processing of submarine surface. Firstly, rough denoising of the original photon data was completed by smoothing filtering. Then, elevation histogram statistics were carried out on the photon data, two peaks of the histogram were fitted by a double Gaussian function, and the intersection of two curves was then taken to separate the water surface and underwater photons. The surface photons were denoised by the DBSCAN clustering algorithm. Then according to the distribution characteristics of underwater signal photons, a single-photon point cloud filtering bathymetric method was proposed based on improved local distance statistics (LDSBM), which was used for fine denoising of underwater point cloud data. Finally, the Gaussian function was used to fit the frequency histogram, and the signal photons were screened to extract the water depth information. In this study, 13 groups of the ATL03 dataset from the Xisha Islands, the St. Thomas and the Acklins Island were used for denoising. The denoising results were compared with the signal photons manually marked and the signal photons extracted by the official built-in method (OM). The experimental results showed that, compared with the official method results of ATL03, the LDSBM had a higher F value (comprehensive evaluation index), with an average of more than 96.70%. In conclusion, the proposed underwater single-photon point cloud filtering bathymetric method was superior to the traditional algorithm and could recover terrain information accurately.

Yaks have evolved several breeds or genetic resources owing to their geographical and ecological environment, and investigating the genetic construction of body size among breeds is key for breeding. Here, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) was performed for five body size traits in 31 yak breeds and genetic resources. The information from clustering individuals according to their habitats was used for kinship grouping in the compressed mixed linear model (CMLM). We named this approach the pCMLM method. A total of 3,584,464 high-quality single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were obtained, and six markers were found to be significantly associated with height by pCMLM. Four candidate genes, including FXYD6, SOHLH2, ADGRB2, and OSBPL6, were identified. Our results show that when CMLM cannot identify optimal clustering groups, pCMLM can provide sufficient associated results based on population information. Moreover, this study provides basic information on the gene localization of quantitative traits of body size among yak breeds.

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of methionine analogues 2-hydroxy-4-methylthio butanoic acid isopropyl ester (HBMi) on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility, serum metabolite, serum free amino acids, and rumen fermentation parameters of yaks. Twenty-four male Maiwa yaks (252.79 ± 15.95 kg) were randomly allocated to four dietary treatments: basic diet (CON), or three HBMi (MetaSmart (MS); Adisseo Inc., Antony, France) supplementation treatments: MS1 (5 g), MS2 (10 g), and MS3 (15 g). The results showed that the increase in the supplemented MS levels linearly increased the average daily gain (p < 0.05), while the serum alkaline phosphatase activity and malondialdehyde content were increased when yaks were fed with 15 g/d MS (p < 0.05). The diet supplemented with MS linearly increased the percentages of glutamic acid and proline, and linearly or quadratically decreased the percentages of isoleucine, phenylalanine, and valine (p < 0.05). Furthermore, supplementation of 10 g/d and 15 g/d MS increased ruminal microbial crude protein (p < 0.05). The ratio of acetate to propionate in the MS2 group was lower than those in CON and MS1 groups (p < 0.05). In summary, a diet supplemented with 10 g/d MS could be an effective way to improve the growth performance of fattening yaks without negative effects.

The positive regulatory role of lncFAM200B in differentiation and lipid deposition in yak intramuscular preadipocytes has been demonstrated in our previous study. However, the regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we aimed to produce complete mRNA and microRNA (miRNA) profiles after adenovirus-mediated lncFAM200B overexpression in yak preadipocytes using high-throughput sequencing. We constructed a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network with lncFAM200B as the core and identified the functions of the selected target miRNA during cell proliferation and differentiation. We obtained 118 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) after lncFAM200B overexpression, 76 of which were up-regulated, including Notch signaling members NOTCH3, DTX3L, and HES4, and 42 DEGs were down-regulated, including genes related to the cell cycle (CCNA2, BUB1, CDC20, TOP2A, and KIF20A). Additionally, many ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis pathway members were also significantly up-regulated (BUA7, PML, TRIM21, and TRIM25). MiRNA sequencing showed that 13 miRNAs were significantly up-regulated, and 12 miRNAs were down-regulated. Among them, 29 targets of 10 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) were differentially expressed, including miR-152-FBXO33, miR-6529a-TRIM21, miR-148c-NOTCH3, and the miR-6529b-HES4 axis. We further verified that overexpression and inhibition of miR-6529a can inhibit and promote, respectively, the proliferation and differentiation of preadipocytes. Taken together, our study not only revealed the regulatory network of lncFAM200B during yak preadipocytes differentiation but also laid a foundation for elucidating the cause for lower intramuscular fat content in yaks at the molecular level.

The yak is the largest meat-producing mammal around the Tibetan Plateau, and it plays an important role in the economic development and maintenance of the ecological environment throughout much of the Asian highlands. Understanding the genetic components of body weight is key for future improvement in yak breeding; therefore, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) were performed, and the results were used to mine plant and animal genetic resources. We conducted whole genome sequencing on 406 Maiwa yaks at 10 × coverage. Using a multiple loci mixed linear model (MLMM), fixed and random model circulating probability unification (FarmCPU), and Bayesian-information and linkage-disequilibrium iteratively nested keyway (BLINK), we found that a total of 25,000 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were distributed across chromosomes, and seven markers were identified as significantly (p-values < 3.91 × 10−7) associated with the body weight trait,. Several candidate genes, including MFSD4, LRRC37B, and NCAM2, were identified. This research will help us achieve a better understanding of the genotype–phenotype relationship for body weight.

Biomass renewable fiber has the advantages of low cost and environmental friendliness; however, its application as a reinforcement material is limited owing to its poor reinforcement effect. Thus, expanding its application is still a major challenge. This study investigates the effect of hemp fiber (HF) of different lengths on the mechanical properties and fatigue behavior of styrene-butadiene rubber/carbon black (SBR/CB) compounds using high-pressure low-shear extrusion. The results showed that the length of the HF retained by the extrusion process was approximately 10 times that of the traditional internal mixing process (internal mixing and open mixing). Interface bonding between the long HF coated with butadiene-vinyl pyridine latex (VPL) and the SBR/CB matrix was improved significantly. This inhibited the fatigue-crack propagation and considerably improved the dynamic fatigue life of the notched specimens. The dynamic fatigue life of the notched specimens of the composite prepared by the extrusion process was approximately nine times longer than that of the traditional internal mixing process. The results showed that the long HF length retained after the extrusion process effectively enhanced the strength of the rubber composites and significantly improved the dynamic fatigue life of rubber products under alternating stress. Highlights • The raw material, hemp fiber, is a renewable resource, low cost and environmentally friendly. • Pioneering a new process for preparing rubber composite materials, replacing the traditional process for preparing composite materials. • High-pressure, low-shear extrusion process retains the length of the hemp fibers and improves rubber composites properties. • Compared to traditional processes, long fiber length is 10 times longer by the extrusion process and fatigue life is increased to 9 times. • High-pressure, low-shear extrusion process enables mass production, opening up new ideas for rubber industrial production.
