The COVID-19 pandemic emerged in Wuhan, China, towards the end of 2019 and affected the whole world. People who were confined to their homes for a long time due to the global pandemic, which caused many deaths in the world, connected with the outside world through their balconies. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on individuals' habits of using balconies at their homes. The survey prepared to determine the change in the balcony usage habits of people experiencing the pandemic period in Turkey in 2020-2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic was intense, was applied to 462 people and statistical analyzes were employed. According to the finding; approximately 81% of the participants stated that they spent time on the balcony during the pandemic period, 68% stated that the time spent on the balcony increased, 53% stated that they made changes to their balconies, and 54% stated that spending time on the balcony had a positive effect on the treatment process. 24% of the participants stated that the balconies of their residences were not large enough and comfortable and that they wanted to move to another residence with a balcony of sufficient size and comfort. In this study shows that having balconies of sufficient size and comfort in newly planned residences, the use of furniture on the balcony, and the production of ornamental plants will provide a great advantage in psychologically recovering from future epidemics and in establishing connections with the outdoors for people who have to stay in quarantine. This research aimed to examine in terms of creativity the problems posed by the secondary school seventh grade students by using story cubes. In the research, qualitative research method was used in order to describe in depth the students' perspectives and their creativity in problem posing. The study group consisted of 12 students attending two public secondary schools - one in low and the other in high average achievement level- in Tepebaşı and Odunpazarı districts of Eskişehir province in 2018-2019 academic year. Mathematics course grades were taken as the basis for the selection of the students participating in the research, Considering the academic achievements of the students, two students -a girl and a boy- for each individual achievement level (high, medium and low), a total of 12 students from two schools were selected. Nine story cubes were used as the data collection tool in a semi-structured problem posing activity. The creativity of the students was evaluated in terms of fluency and flexibility criteria through the problems posed by them in the two activities. The level of fluency in the problems posed was determined by the "total number of mathematical problems posed", and the degree of flexibility was determined by the "number of different learning sub-domain of the problems posed" by looking at which learning sub-domain the problems belonged to. As a result, it was determined that the students could pose at most 12 and at least 6 problems in both activities. Based on this result, it can be stated that more than half of the students have an above-average fluency by posing problems above the average number. On the other hand, it was determined that the number of different learning sub-domain to which the posed problems belong is at most 4 and at least 2. Qigong training has positive effects on various health outcomes. Asynchronous or video-conference-based digital platforms may be options to maintain physical activity at home. The aim of the study was to assess feasibility and safety of asynchronous and video-conference-based Qigong training. Thirty-four physically inactive adults were assigned to video-conference or asynchronous group. While subjects in the video-conference group followed the program through Zoom®, exercise videos were delivered to the participants in the asynchronous group via YouTube®. Both groups performed Qigong training with the same characteristics for 6 weeks, 3 days/week. The feasibility was assessed by retention rate and attendance rate. The program considered to be feasible if the retention rate was <80% and mean attendance rate was at least 15 out of 18 sessions. Safety was determined as any adverse events reported by the participants during the intervention period. Satisfaction from the interventions assessed using 5-points Likert Scale. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF), 1-minute sit-to-stand test (STS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), and Coronavirus Anxiety Scale were also assessed. No adverse events were observed in either group. Attendance rate was ≥15 sessions in both groups (asynchronous group= 18, video-conference group= 15.35±5.98). The retention rate was 100% in asynchronous and 88.2% in video-conference group. The satisfaction level obtained with the Qigong training in both groups was similar (p = 0.533, r =-0.106). Qigong training performed with the video-conference method or asynchronous videos appear to be safe, well tolerated, and feasible in physically inactive adults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
