On-orbit assembling space telescope (OAST) is one of the most feasible methods to implement a large-scale space telescope. Unlike a monolithic space telescope (such as Hubble Space Telescope, HST) or a deployable space telescope (such as James Webb Space Telescope, JWST), OAST can be assembled in the spatial environment. To ensure proper telescope performance, OAST must be equipped with a large deployable sunshade. In order to verify the technology of the OAST, the authors propose a modular space telescope on the China Space Station (CSS) and design a deployable sunshade. The deployable mechanism of the sunshade is made up of a radial deployable mechanism and an axial deployable mechanism. This study introduces an innovative outdoor nephelometer system designed to monitor the dynamic hygroscopic behavior of aerosols in ambient air. Field measurements conducted in the Pearl River Delta region of China unveil significant roles of relative humidity (RH) swings on aerosol phase states. Highlighting the occurrence of aerosol crystallization in the afternoon followed by gradual deliquescence as RH increases, particularly when minimum afternoon RH drops below 35%, with no such behavior observed when it exceeds 40%. Emphasizing that aerosol phase states are shaped not only by RH and chemical composition but also by their RH history, illustrating that RH levels of 70% in the morning or evening may correspond to fully dissolved metastable or partially dissolved metastable states of ambient aerosols. These findings underscore the need to account for RH history when predicting aerosol phase states and have broader implications for comprehending aerosol behavior and its atmospheric impacts. Activation of biomass burning aerosols (BBA) and fossil fuel combustion aerosols (FFA) in fogs and clouds significantly impact regional air quality through aqueous chemistry and climate by affecting cloud microphysics. However, we lack direct observations of how these aerosols behave in fogs and clouds. Using a newly developed aerosol‐cloud sampling system, we conducted observations during fog events and found that BBA, despite their high organic content, effectively contributed to super‐micron interstitial aerosols and fog droplets in low supersaturation fogs. In contrast, FFA, predominantly externally mixed organic, did not grow beyond the super‐micron size in fogs due to their near‐hydrophobic nature. Measurements conducted under supersaturations relevant for cloud formation revealed that portions of FFA could serve as cloud condensation nuclei, but only when supersaturation exceeded ∼0.14%. These findings have broad implications for future investigations into the influence of BBA and FFA on fog and cloud chemistry and their interactions with clouds. Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary liver cancer with high mortality. The long‐term use of sorafenib, a targeted drug for hepatocellular carcinoma, will lead to drug resistance, and patients are prone to cancer metastasis, the molecular mechanism of which is still unclear. Methods: In our study, we constructed a sorafenib‐resistant hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (HepG2/Sora) and validated the resistance in vivo and in vitro. Transwell assays confirmed the invasion and migration abilities of cells. Colorimetric assays confirmed that the level of m6A methylation modification in cells. RT‐qPCR and Western blot assays confirmed that the expression levels of KIAA1429 in HepG2/Sora cells and tissues. The EMT related proteins were detected by Western blot assay. Results: Transwell and Western blot assays confirmed that HepG2/Sora cells had higher invasion and migration abilities and showed EMT phenomena. Colorimetric assays confirmed that the level of m6A methylation modification was upregulated in HepG2/Sora cells. Transwell and Western blot assays confirmed that inhibiting m6A methylation in HepG2/Sora cells inhibited their invasion, migration ability and EMT phenomenon. RT‐qPCR and Western blot assays confirmed that the expression levels of KIAA1429 in HepG2/Sora cells and tissues was increased. Silencing KIAA1429 in HepG2/Sora cells inhibited their invasion, migration ability and EMT phenomenon. Finally, we found that the medium supernatant of sorafenib‐resistant HepG2/Sora cells induced vascular production of EA.hy926 cells, and silencing KIAA1429 inhibited this induction effect. Conclusion: We suggest that KIAA1429 promotes sorafenib‐resistant hepatocellular carcinoma invasion, migration and EMT by mediating m6A methylation. The commercial continuous‐flow streamwise thermal‐gradient cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) counter is widely used in aerosol CCN activity measurements which are critical for investigating aerosol‐cloud interactions. In CCN measurements, a critical threshold is needed for distinguishing interstitial aerosols and activated droplets, and a default threshold of 0.75 μm was set in CCN counter. Theoretically, interstitial aerosols could also grow larger than 0.75 μm in CCN counter at low supersaturations, thus theoretical thresholds derived from the Köhler theory were suggested. Here, we report that droplet growth in the CCN counter is kinetically limited and CCN‐active droplets does not reach their theoretical diameters under low supersaturations. Neglecting the kinetic growth limitation in CCN identification would count less CCN and underestimate the aerosol hygroscopicity parameter κ $\kappa $ by up to 50% for supersaturations lower than 0.1%. We recommend that thresholds considering kinetic limitations should be used as new criteria for CCN identification under low supersaturations. Background: In children, internalizing and externalizing problems impact on learning. However, there is limited research on the specific impact of such problems on spatial working memory (SWM), strongly related to cognitive ability and children's learning. Aims: We explored distinct trajectories of internalizing problems and externalizing problems (conduct problems and hyperactivity/inattention) in a large general‐population sample of children followed from age 3 to age 11 years. We then assessed their role in SWM performance at age 11 years. Sample: Data were drawn from the UK's Millennium Cohort Study. Our analytic sample was children with data on SWM at age 11 years (N = 12,589). Methods: There were two stages of data analysis. Trajectory group membership was firstly estimated by group‐based trajectory modelling for internalizing problems, conduct problems, and hyperactivity/inattention at ages 3–11 years. Multiple regression then assessed the relationship between SWM at age 11 years and trajectory group membership after accounting for confounders. Results: Trajectories of internalizing, conduct, and hyperactivity/inattention symptoms across ages 3 to 11 years were related to SWM at age 11 years, even after controlling for confounding variables. For each of the three symptom domains, poor SWM was most consistently found in children with chronically high levels of symptoms. Conclusions: In general, atypical patterns of internalizing problems, conduct problems, and hyperactivity/inattention in childhood were related to poorer SWM in early adolescence. 5-methylcytosine (m5C) is a post-transcriptional RNA modification identified, m5C readers can specifically identify and bind to m5C. ALYREF and YBX1 as members of m5C readers that have garnered increasing attention in cancer research. However, comprehensive analysis of their molecular functions across pancancer are lacking. Using the TCGA and GTEx databases, we investigated the expression levels and prognostic values of ALYREF and YBX1. Additionally, we assessed the tumor microenvironment, immune checkpoint-related genes, immunomodulators, Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) score and drug resistance of ALYREF and YBX1. Gene Ontology (GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) analyses were performed to investigate the potential functions associated with m5C readers and coexpressed genes. Aberrant expression of ALYREF and YBX1 was observed and positively associated with prognosis in KIRP, LGG and LIHC. Furthermore, the expression levels of ALYREF and YBX1 were significantly correlated with immune infiltration of the tumor microenvironment and immune-related modulators. Last, our analysis revealed significant correlations between ALYREF, YBX1 and eIFs. Our study provides a substantial understanding of m5C readers and the intricate relationship between ALYREF, YBX1, eIFs, and mRNA dynamics. Through multidimensional analysis of immune infiltration and drug sensitivity/resistance in ALYREF and YBX1, we propose a possibility for combined modality therapy utilizing m5C readers. The slow kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in air cathodes severely limit the development of reversible zinc–air batteries. Thus, bifunctional oxygen catalysts with excellent electrocatalytic activity and durability for both the oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions (ORR/OER) are keys to achieving long-term rechargeable zinc–air batteries. However, it remains challenging to further improve the performance by adding more active sites. To address this, a series of nitrogen-doped carbon (CN) with NiCo alloys has been synthesized by pyrolyzing a simple bimetal zeolitic-imidazolate framework (ZIF) and then evenly loaded with metallic Ru nanoparticles, resulting in Ru–NiCo/NC samples. Benefiting from the large pore volume and high activities, the Ru–NiCo/NC electrocatalysts exhibit higher ORR (E1/2 = 0.84 V) and OER performance with an overpotential of 342 mV at 10 mA cm−2, along with superior cycle stability. More significantly, when employed in rechargeable zinc–air batteries, Ru–NiCo/NC catalysts demonstrate a high power density of 132.3 mW cm−2, significantly outperforming Pt and Ru-based zinc–air batteries. Additionally, DFT (density functional theory) results indicate that the addition of Ru leads to a downshift of the d-band center from the Fermi level, which benefits the reduction of energy barriers and enhances the desorption of O-containing intermediates. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a type of hematological malignancy caused by uncontrolled clonal proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells. The special energy metabolism mode of AML relying on oxidative phosphorylation is different from the traditional 'Warburg effect'. However, its mechanism is not clear. In the present study, it was demonstrated that the mRNA expression levels of NADH dehydrogenase subunit 1, 4 and 5 (ND1, ND4 and ND5) were upregulated in AML samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas database using the limma package in the R programming language. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and ELISA were used to verify the upregulation of ND1, ND4 and ND5 in clinical samples. Pan-cancer analysis revealed that the expression of ND1 was upregulated only in AML, ND2 was upregulated only in AML and thymoma, and ND4 was upregulated only in AML and kidney chromophobe. In the present study, it was demonstrated that silencing of ND1/4/5 could inhibit the proliferation of AML cells in transplanted tumor of nude mice. Additionally, it was found that oxidative phosphorylation and energy metabolism of AML cells were decreased after silencing of ND1/4/5. In conclusion, the present study suggested that ND1/4/5 may be involved in the regulation of oxidative phosphorylation metabolism in AML as a potential cancer-promoting factor. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a malignant disease originating from myeloid hematopoietic stem or progenitor cells. It is important to identify molecules associated with the prognosis of AML and conduct an individual risk assessment for different patients. In the present study, the RNA expression profile of 132 patients with AML and 337 healthy individuals were downloaded from the University of California Santa Cruz Xena and the Genotype-Tissue Expression project databases. Differentially expressed mRNA (DEmRNA) transcripts between normal blood and AML blood were identified. Among these, prognosis-associated signature mRNA molecules were screened using univariate Cox and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression. A total of four genes, namely, family with sequence similarity 124 member B (FAM124B), 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase-like protein (HPDL), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and purinergic receptor P2Y1 (P2RY1), were identified using multivariate Cox regression analysis and were used to construct a prognostic scoring system. Moreover, the expression levels of HPDL and MPO were higher in the samples with high immunity scores and estimate scores (sum of stromal score and immune score), compared with those with low scores. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and western blot analysis were used to confirm the upregulation of the four candidate genes in AML cell lines as well as in clinical AML samples. In summary, the present study identified a novel mRNA-based prognostic risk scoring system for patients with AML. The four genes used in this scoring system may also play an important role in AML. Upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs), particularly those that are highly doped, possess outstanding properties and have demonstrated tremendous application potential. However, novel fine-tuning strategies are urgently required to enhance the upconversion luminescence (UCL) performance of UCNPs. In this study, a series of core–multishell UCNPs highly doped with Ho3+ and Yb3+ ions were synthesized via the oleate route. The X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UCL spectra and decay times, and pump power dependency of the synthesized UCNPs were used to examine their morphology, size, and the UCL properties. Ce3+ ions were introduced to enhance Ho3+-based red UCL, and their doping strategy was also optimized based on summarized UCL trends and detailed UCL mechanism analysis. NaHoF 4 :Gd3+@NaGdF 4 :Yb3+,Ce3+@NaGdF 4 :Yb3+ UCNPs that had 10 mol% Ce3+ dopants in their middle shells exhibited better UCL properties than the larger traditional NaGdF 4 :Yb3+,Ce3+,Ho3+ UCNPs, probably because of the combined influence of the energy interactions between the Ce3+ ions and surface groups, sensitizing energy enhancement by active shells, and the positive cooperation between the Ce3+ ions and highly-doped core–shell structures. In this study, the phenomenon of UCL decrease resulting from Ce3+ ion doping was explored. Using unique core–multishell structures with highly-doped activators and sensitizers placed within and outside the structures, respectively, the UCL decrease due to Ce3+ ion doping was attributed to a competition for photons. Doping the UCNPs with Ce3+ ions near the UCNP surfaces favors Ho3+-based red UCL. Our study findings can deepen the understanding of the Ho3+-based UCL mechanisms and increase the potential uses of NaHoF 4 materials in photo-induced therapy. When Ce3+ ions are doped near the nanoparticle surface, they might have energy interactions with surface groups to relieve phonon energy shortage and thus enhance the efficiency of cross-relaxation between Ho3+ and Ce3+ ions. In order to achieve in vivo and vitro fluorescence emission and imaging of YOF nanoparticles with high-performance, co-precipitation method was employed to design and fabricate YOF : Yb3+/Er3+ nanoparticles. The phase structure, microstructure, up conversion fluorescence properties and in vivo and vitro fluorescence imaging performance were measured respectively. The results show that the size of the nanoparticles is about 50 nm, and the morphology is between hexagonal and circular; yellow-green light is emitted under 980 nm laser excitation, and the red/green ratio of its upconversion fluorescence spectrum is 3. 287; optimal upconversion fluorescence emission and in vivo and vitro gradient fluorescence imaging performance were achieved. • The target to substrate distance is the key factor affecting the preferred orientation of AlN films. • (0 0 2) oriented AlN films exhibit raspberry-like microstructure, while (1 0 0) oriented AlN films exhibits exhibit rose-like microstructure. • The preferred orientation of AlN films is affected by the change of kinetic energy of sputtered particles. • The columnar grains growth is dominant as the (0 0 2) texture development and disappears in (1 0 0) oriented AlN films. Wurtzite aluminum nitride (AlN) films with (1 0 0) and (0 0 2) preferred orientations are obtained on Si (1 0 0) wafers by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. The effects of target to substrate distance (TSD), RF power, deposition pressure and substrate temperature on crystal orientation and morphology of AlN films are analyzed. It is demonstrated that the TSD is the key factor affecting the preferred orientation of AlN films. The preferred orientation transforms from (0 0 2) to (1 0 0) with the increase of TSD. Further increase of substrate temperature and RF power causes the coexistence of (0 0 2) and (1 0 0) orientation. The evolution of orientation is explained by the change in kinetic energy of sputtered particles. The correlation between the crystal orientation and the surface morphology is investigated. Daytime HONO photolysis is an important source of atmospheric hydroxyl radicals (OH). Knowledge of HONO formation chemistry under typical haze conditions, however, is still limited. In the Multiphase chemistry experiment in Fogs and Aerosols in the North China Plain in 2018, we investigated the wintertime HONO formation and its atmospheric implications at a rural site Gucheng. Three different episodes based on atmospheric aerosol loading levels were classified: clean periods (CPs), moderately polluted periods (MPPs) and severely polluted periods (SPPs). Correlation analysis revealed that HONO formation via heterogeneous conversion of N O 2 was more efficient on aerosol surfaces than on ground, highlighting the important role of aerosols in promoting HONO formation. Daytime HONO budget analysis indicated a large missing source (with an average production rate of 0.66 ± 0.26, 0.97 ± 0.47 and 1.45 ± 0.55 ppbV/hr for CPs, MPPs and SPPs, respectively), which strongly correlated with photo-enhanced reactions (N O 2 heterogeneous reaction and particulate nitrate photolysis). Average OH formation derived from HONO photolysis reached up to (0.92 ± 0.71), (1.75 ± 1.26) and (1.82 ± 1.47) ppbV/hr in CPs, MPPs and SPPs respectively, much higher than that from O 3 photolysis (i.e., (0.004 ± 0.004), (0.006 ± 0.007) and (0.0035 ± 0.0034) ppbV/hr). The development and optimization of electrocatalysts is one of the key points to reduce the energy barrier of electrocatalytic water splitting and improve the kinetics of electrocatalytic reactions. It is necessary to develop low-cost, high-performance electrocatalysts with large-scale application prospects. In order to solve this problem, hybrid structured ZnCo2O4@Co3O4 nanowires are successfully synthesized through hydrothermal synthesis and electrodeposition. As electrocatalysts for water splitting, ZnCo2O4@Co3O4 can reach a current density of 50 mA cm−2 at an overpotential of 278 mV for the OER and 166 mV@−10 mA cm−2 for the HER, which could be higher than that of single ZnCo2O4 and Co3O4. At the same time, ZnCo2O4@Co3O4 samples also exhibit a cell voltage of 1.67 V at a high current density of 50 mA cm−2 and superior durability for 50 h. The fabricated product also showcases a specific capacitance of 1316 F g−1 at 1 A g−1. Additionally, the assembled device attains a maximum energy density of 47.3 W h kg−1 at a power density of 1126 W kg−1. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculation further confirms that the heterostructure can significantly promote Gibbs free energy for hydrogen adsorption. (InGa) 2 O 3 films are grown on quartz substrates by radio frequency magnetron sputtering using In/Ga 2 O 3 target. The crystal structure, morphology, chemical states and optical properties of (InGa) 2 O 3 films after annealing are investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, optical transmission spectroscopy and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The crystallinity of (InGa) 2 O 3 film improves and phase segregation occurs as the annealing temperature is raised to 800 °C. A mass of cavities are formed on the surface of annealed (InGa) 2 O 3 films. The nanocrystal particles are found in the (InGa) 2 O 3 film annealed at 800 °C. The optical bandgap values of (InGa) 2 O 3 films change from 4.68 to 4.89 eV with increasing annealing temperature from room temperature to 800 °C, which is associated with the decrease of oxygen vacancies and loss of In component of (InGa) 2 O 3 films. The variation of emission band in (InGa) 2 O 3 films is influenced by the tunable bandgap, increasing grain boundary and phase segregation. This work investigates the effect of annealing on the optical properties of (InGa) 2 O 3 films and promotes the application of (InGa) 2 O 3 films in the optical field. • Amorphous (InGa) 2 O 3 films are deposited using well-designed In/Ga 2 O 3 target. • The bandgap tunability of (InGa) 2 O 3 films from 4.68 to 4.89 eV is ascribed to the decrease of oxygen vacancies and loss of In atoms after annealing. • The variation of emission bands in (InGa) 2 O 3 films with annealing temperature is associated with the tunable bandgap, increasing grain boundary and phase segregation. Implantation timing is critical for a successful pregnancy. A short delay in embryo implantation caused by targeted gene ablation produced a cascading problem in the later stages of the pregnancy. Although several delayed implantation models have been established in wild mice, almost none of them is suitable for investigating the early delay's effects on the late events of pregnancy. Here, we report a new delayed implantation model established by the intraperitoneal administration of letrozole at 5 mg/kg body weight on day 3 of pregnancy. In these mice, initiation of implantation was induced at will by the injection of estradiol (E2). When the estradiol (3 ng) was injected on day 4 of pregnancy (i.e., without delay), the embryo implantation restarted, and the pregnancy continued normally. However, 25 ng estrogen caused compromised implantation. We also found that 67% of the female mice could be pregnant normally and finally gave birth when the estradiol injection (3 ng) was on day 5 of pregnancy (i.e., 1-day delay). Most failed pregnancies had impaired decidualization, decreased serum progesterone levels, and compromised angiogenesis. Progesterone supplementation could rescue decidualization failure in the mice. Collectively, we established a new model of delayed implantation by letrozole, which can be easily applied to study the effect and mechanisms of delay of embryo implantation on the progression of late pregnancy events. Although numerous studies on hydrogeochemistry in karst catchments have been performed, some challenges in understanding their hydrogeochemical behavior remain due to the unique architecture of karst groundwater systems and the high heterogeneity of the karst medium. Here we used a multicriteria approach combining hydrodynamic, hydrochemical, and stable isotopic tools to investigate the impact of heterogeneity on karst hydrogeochemistry in a mountainous area of Hubei Province, Central China. Our results showed that groundwater was dominated by Ca2+, Mg2+, HCO 3 −, and SO 4 2−, and typically characterized by HCO 3 –Ca·Mg type in the shallow aquifer and by SO 4 –Ca·Mg type in the deep aquifer. With increasing circulation depth, water-rock interactions and the heterogeneity of the karst medium produced water with increased Ca2+, Mg2+, Sr2+, and SO 4 2− concentrations, and also increased the dissolved total solids. Calcite, dolomite, and gypsum dissolution in local and intermediate flows were important geochemical processes in groundwater evolution, and calcite precipitation occurred in the regional flow due to dedolomitization, supported by PHREEQC modeling of minerals. The decreased major ions and increased nitrate with increasing δ18O due to the dilution of shallow groundwater by high δ18O recharge and nitrogen fertilizer required during the summer rainy season were found relying on Plots of δ18O vs major ions, which offer an alternative approach to learn seasonal effects of hydrogeochemistry. Temperature, discharge, and stable isotope ratios of five karst springs in a mountainous area of Zigui County, Hubei Province, Central China, were analyzed. The purpose was to illustrate the heat exchanges linked to circulation depth in the exposed karst water systems through the development of a method for estimating heat input and heat flux during a rainstorm. Meteorological water in the study area conformed to a local meteoric water line (δD = 8.37 δ18O + 12.99) with a mean δ18O elevation gradient of −4.0‰ km−1, which was used to estimate mean circulation depths of 209–686 m. The mean spring temperatures defined a vertical gradient of −5.4 °C km−1, which resembled that of the stable atmosphere of the Earth, indicating that the thermal response patterns are mainly controlled by surface air temperature. Thermal convection after rainfall events dominated heat exchange between baseflow and recharge water, leading to a warmer and colder recharge during summer and winter, respectively, whereas thermal conduction dominated the heat exchange only between groundwater, surrounding geology, and the interface air under a condition of no rainfall, resulting in only small temperature variations of the baseflow. Successful application of the method for estimating heat exchange showed that the characteristics of shallow circulation, strong karstification, and well-developed epikarst readily allowed disruption of the thermal balance of the Yuquandong system, resulting in a poor heat regulation capacity, a larger variation of heat input, a lower mean heat flux, and lower baseflow temperatures compared to those of the Dayuquan system. The concentrations of cannabinoids in hemp are still tightly controlled in New Zealand and around the world with crops exceeding the legal limit being prohibited from cultivation. Thus, there is a need for high throughput methods to accurately assess the cannabinoid content and to evaluate compliance and harvest readiness infield. This paper reports a reliable real-time technique to measure the tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) concentration of Cannabis sativa L. using proximal near infrared (NIR) hyperspectral imaging (HSI). At implementation, scalability can be achieved by introducing sparsity to the model. Sparsity also enabled better model interpretability and is robust against fitting noisy HSI data. Model reproducibility was used to assess the quality of the model fitness. This work uses linear regression to map NIR HSI images to THCA measured with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Four regression algorithms that cover different regression strategies were compared: Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA), Ensemble CCA (EnCCA), Partial Least Squares Regression (PLS), and Regularized PLS (RPLS). The RPLS algorithm achieved the best performance but uses all spectral wavelengths for regression. Thus, a variation of RPLS with feature selection (PLSFS) was introduced to improve model interpretability. The proposed PLSFS method leads to reproducible models while maintaining small feature sets. To our knowledge, this publication reports the first research that has used HSI to estimate THCA concentration. Growing awareness of the medicinal and therapeutic benefits of cannabis has resulted in extensive research, increasing numbers of commercial growers, and the provision of commercial testing. For commercial production, the importance of monitoring for consistent cannabinoid composition is essential. Gas chromatography and/or liquid chromatography methods are effective methods. Unfortunately, they are not easily scaled up for frequent or large-scale testing. Precision cultivation for medicinal cannabis requires the industry to test large volumes of plants frequently during different stages of the growth cycle. This cannot be achieved with destructive testing alone. A statistical method with 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is proposed and investigated to explore its potential for a cost-effective mass-screening method of plant material samples. In addition, hyperspectral imaging (HSI) is employed for frequent non-destructive measurements. This allows increasing the frequency of observations during the growth of the plant. The cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) concentration is determined by the application of both HSI and NMR spectroscopy and validated against liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LCMS). The paper proposes a multivariate statistical regression algorithm that automatically determines the CBDA concentration directly from bucket integration of the NMR spectrum. The algorithm successfully predicted the CBDA concentration of 7 unknown samples from data selected from 4 known samples, with an average R2 value of 0.98. The proposed statistical method was applied to the data collected for HSI. It showed that while the hyperspectral dataset can be correlated with CBDA concentration, it was subject to high variance. However, HSI retains the spatial information of the actual plant structure, allowing the CBDA prediction to be mapped back to the original spatial location in the plant while providing visual information on CBDA concentration within a flower or leaf without requiring the plant component to be destroyed in the process. Cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) spectra, that indicate the dependence of CCN number concentrations (N CCN) on supersaturation, are important factors in aerosol–cloud interactions. Owing to the lack of direct measurements of N CCN , calculating the CCN spectra based on conventional observational data of aerosols is important to obtain N CCN ; however, this is challenging owing to the complex relationship between aerosol properties and CCN activity. Machine learning techniques have recently been applied to estimate N CCN and found to be a promising method for CCN prediction. In this study, the random forest (RF) model was applied to predict CCN spectral parameters using the observation data measured in four campaigns in the North China Plain, and the effects of chemical and optical properties of aerosol on the estimation of CCN spectra were investigated. The results show that the RF model trained with the data of one campaign can be used to estimate CCN spectral parameters in another campaign, with the coefficient of determination between the estimated and measured CCN spectral parameters being approximately 0.5. The deviations of the estimation by the RF model may result from the difference in both the aerosol properties and measurement uncertainties among different campaigns, whose influence on the deviations can be further magnified by overfitting the RF model. Further analysis revealed that the major aerosol properties among the input variables of the RF model were the mass concentration of black carbon and aerosol hemispheric backscattering fraction at a wavelength of 450 nm. In addition, the roles of chemical compositions of aerosol in estimating CCN spectra parameters are different among different campaigns because the poor correlation between aerosol chemical compositions and CCN spectra parameter can affect the performance of the RF model. In this study, the physical properties of refractory BC (rBC) including mass concentration, core size distribution and mixing state were in-situ characterized with a single particle soot photometer (SP2) at a polluted rural site in the North China Plain in November 2018. The average rBC mass concentration is 4.12 ± 2.47 μg m−3, accounting for 6.26% of PM 1 mass. Its diurnal variation shows that the rBC concentration is affected by both the local residential activities and the evolution of planetary boundary layer (PBL). And a broader rBC core mass size distribution (CMSD) can be observed in the afternoon. The CMSD show a primary mode with peak diameter (D m) of ~222 nm, and a small secondary mode with D m of ~687 nm. The average absolute coating thickness (ACT) of rBC particles is 50 nm and the bulk relative coating thickness (BRCT) is about 1.7, indicating a relatively high aging level of rBC. The correlation analysis between SP2-separated rBC and PMF-separated OA factors indicate that rBC with different core size (D c) and ACT may be originated from different sources. The rBC contributed by coal combustion is distributed throughout a large D c range (~70–500 nm). The rBC particles emitted by traffic sources have small core sizes and thin coating thickness (D c < 180 nm and ACT <50 nm); while the rBC particles emitted from biomass burning show a higher degree of aging (ACT >250 nm). Particle microphysical and chemical properties, including particle number size distribution (PNSD) and chemical composition of both ambient PM 1 and PM 10 particles were measured in the North China Plain (NCP) during the Multiphase chemistry experiment in Fogs and Aerosols in the North China Plain (McFAN) campaign in November 2018. Focused on the differences of measured PNSD between PM 1 and PM 10 , the variations of aerosol microphysical and chemical properties in fog were analyzed and their corresponding influence on fog droplets evolution was evaluated. Two nighttime fog events were observed on the 12th and 13th November, respectively. During fog events, PNSDs of particles with diameter larger than ∼200 nm sampled from the PM 10 inlet were similar to those after fogs. But in particle size range larger than 200 nm, particles number concentration sampled from the PM 1 inlet were very few and much lower than those after fogs, indicating that some particles larger than 200 nm have grown into droplets with diameter larger than 1 μm and thus were not detected under the PM 1 inlet. No significant decrease in particle number concentration larger than ∼200 nm was detected under the PM 10 inlet after the dissipation of these fog events, suggesting that fog droplets were generally smaller than 10 μm and could be sampled by the PM 10 inlet. The additional particles sampled in PM 10 in fogs demonstrated a normal distribution, which indicates that they belonged to an individual particle group externally mixed with those sampled under the PM 1 impactor and could outgrow 1 μm either through hygroscopic growth or through activation. This can lead to uncertainties in droplet number concentration estimations within fog from microphysical and chemical properties measurements of the aerosol with assumption of fully internal mixture. We find that PM 1 hygroscopicity derived from particle chemical composition measurements was overestimated, which may result in significant bias in the estimated droplets number concentration in the North China Plain. These results and approaches in this study can improve the understanding of aerosol microphysical properties in fogs and the corresponding influence of aerosol particles on fog microphysics. Porphyrins and porphyrin derivatives have attracted significant interest in the fields of catalysis, biosensing, gas storage, solar cells, and biomedical applications owing to their outstanding photophysical and electrochemical properties. Nevertheless, their biological application especially in the therapy and diagnosis of cancer is severely hindered by certain inherent limitations such as self-quenching, weak absorption in the biological spectral window, and poor chemical and optical stability. Porphyrin-based metal organic frameworks (MOFs), a family of novel hybrid porous coordination polymers, have been developed to overcome the limitations of porphyrins and enable their biomedical applications. Porphyrin-based MOFs are constructed using metal ions or clusters and porphyrin ligands through a self-assembly process. Porphyrin-based MOFs maintain the specific properties of porphyrins and can be loaded or modified with functional molecules or drugs to impart therapeutic and imaging abilities. In this review, we discuss the different synthetic approaches of porphyrin-based MOFs and examine the current developments and achievements of porphyrin-based MOFs in the field of biomedical applications, especially cancer therapy and bioimaging in detail. Finally, we discuss the challenges in the biomedical applications of porphyrin-based MOFs and present possible research directions to achieve highly efficient therapeutic effects and high-quality imaging for cancer theranostics.
