The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of furrow irrigation with a length of 96, 144, and 192 m and a flow rate of between 0.2 and 0.4 Ls−1 on the leaching of nitrogen, phosphorus, and humus from dry subtropical soils in Azerbaijan. Moreover, the impact of six fertilizer levels, namely, control (without fertilizer), 10 t ha−1 of cow manure, N90P90K90 + 10 t ha−1 of cow manure, N120P90K90 + 10 t ha−1 of cow manure, N120P120K90 + 10 t ha−1 of cow manure, and N120P90K120 + 10 t ha−1 of cow manure, on the performance of apple orchards, has been examined. The findings indicate that the brown soils of the irrigated grassland exhibit normal humus, total nitrogen, and weak phosphorus levels, with a gradual decline observed in the lower layers. Applicable to the agricultural and subsurface layers, the aggregates are 0.25–1.0 mm in diameter, with an agricultural value of 12.9% and 21.8%, respectively. This indicates a poor structural condition of the apple orchard soil. The elevation of the water flow rate from 0.2 to 0.4 Ls−1 resulted in a greater extraction of humus, nitrogen, and phosphorus from the soil. Both water flow rates increased the nutrients and humus leaching from the soil. By extending the furrow length to 192 m, the losses of humus (3.25%), nitrogen (0.36%), and phosphorus (0.30%) from the soil in both water flows significantly increased in comparison to the 96‐m length. By extending the length of furrows to 192 m, the yield (21.97 t ha−1) was significantly reduced in comparison to the 96‐m length (22.31 t ha−1). As a consequence of the application of N120P90K120 + 10 t ha−1 of cow manure, the yield of 27.3 t ha−1 was significantly elevated in comparison to other fertilizer treatments and the control treatment (17.9 t ha−1). Therefore, management of fertilizer systems, furrow length, and water flow can improve soil fertility and plant yield by reducing erosion in the meadow‐brown soil of Azerbaijan. In robotics, when recognizing objects by their images, errors arise associated with changing the image scale. This error is due to the minimum change in the distance between the reference object or recognizable image and the camera. The article outlines known methods for scaling images and describes their shortcomings. An algorithm for scaling object images is proposed. It is shown that the reliability of pattern recognition in this case increases by minimizing errors in estimating the measure of proximity between objects with equally accurate measurements. The article presents the results of computer simulation of the proposed algorithm in the form of tables and analyzes the additive, multiplicative and scale errors in measuring the parameters of objects. While soil salinization is a major threat to the food security and sustainability of humanity, information on salinization in developing countries is limited. In this study, Landsat data were used to predict the salinization process from 1986 to 2021 in the Kur-Araz lowland of Azerbaijan, and water movement and salinity transport models were developed to calculate the effects of climate change and water management. The model results showed that increases in rainfall and drainage have led to dramatic improvements in soil salinity and agricultural productivity and that these changes were caused by the synergistic effect of climate change and water management. The future predictions indicate that rainfall will decrease due to the decrease in evaporation in the neighboring Caspian Sea, leading to further re-salinization. Soil re-salinization would be a severe threat to the sustainability of the agricultural industry and food security of Azerbaijan and neighboring countries. Background: Tortuosity in the coronary arteries is a very common entity encountered during angiography. The effect of coronary artery tortuosity (CAT) on the myocardium has not been completely investigated. The aim of the current study was to assess the effects of CAT on left atrial (LA) and left ventricular (LV) myocardial functions by 3D speckle-tracking echocardiography (3D-STE)., Methods: Seventy-five patients with CAT and 80 age- and gender-matched controls who proved to have normal coronary angiograms (CAG) were enrolled into the study. Following CAG, the 2D images were obtained first, and then 3D images were obtained for strain analysis., Results: The LAS-r, LAS-active, and LV-GLS were significantly depressed in the CAT (+) group (p < .001, p < .001, p = .012, respectively). The multivariate regression models demonstrated that LAS-r (p < .001), LAS-active (p = .009), and LV-GLS (p = .024) were found to be independent factors predicting CAT., Conclusion: The current study is the first to focus on the assessing both LA and LV myocardial dynamics in CAT (+) patients by strain echocardiography. Background: Overweightness is a considerable step in the process leading to obesity. There are no sufficient studies on the effect of cardiomyopathy defined in obese patients about overweight subjects. We thought that it may be useful to examine the myocardial involvement in overweight individuals electro-mechanically with more sensitive techniques before the development of obesity cardiomyopathy., Aim: The aim of the present study was to demonstrate whether or not there are subclinical left ventricular (LV) electrical and mechanical dysfunctions in overweight patients using frontal QRS-T (fQRS-T) angle (electrically) and 3D-speckle tracking echocardiography (mechanically)., Methods: A total of 80 overweight patients and 80 age- and sex-matched normal weight individuals were enrolled into the study. 3D-STE examinations of the patients were performed. Electrocardiographic recordings were obtained for fQRS-T angle assessment., Results: The LV-GLS and LV-GCS were significantly depressed in the overweight group than in the normal weight group (-14.5 ± 3.4 vs. -21.7 ± 3.6, p < .001; -15.2 ± 4.6 vs. -24.3 ± 4.8, p < .001, respectively). The fQRS-T angle was found to be increased in the overweight group (142.5 ± 39.2 vs. 114.7 ± 43.5, p = < .001). Statistically significant positive linear correlations were observed between BMI with LV-GLS, LV-GCS, and fQRS-T angle. LV-GLS and LV-GCS were found to be disrupted linearly as BMI increased (r = .718 for BMI and LV-GLS, r = .653 for BMI and LV-GCS). As BMI increased, it was found that the fQRS-T angle increased (r = .692 for BMI and fQRS-T angle)., Conclusion: Our results support that, overweight individuals, despite their being apparently healthy, may have subclinical LV myocardial mechanical and electrical dysfunction., (© 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)

Background: In China, coronary artery abnormalities (CAAs) secondary to Kawasaki disease (KD) tend to have an increased occurrence. We hypothesize that Chinese children with KD may possess several unique CAA risks, and the predictive efficacy of multiple scoring systems in Chinese patients are still to be further studied., Methods: Two hundred and three KD patients were recruited. Using multivariable analysis, independent predictors of CAAs were combined into a scoring system. Subsequently, CAA risks of our patients were evaluated by the newly established scoring system and eight other published scoring systems., Results: Seventeen (8.37%) KD patients were identified as CAAs. The newly established scoring system contained the following 5 independent predictors: days of illness at initial treatment ≥7, redness and swelling of extremities, hematocrit ≤33%, percentage of monocytes ≥8.89%, and procalcitonin ≥0.5 ng/mL. The AUC value of newly established scoring system was 0.685 with a sensitivity of 41.18% and a specificity of 84.41%, higher than Harada score, Egami score, Kobayashi score, Sato score, San Diego score, Formosa score, and Tang score, whereas lower than Hua score., Conclusions: Days of illness at initial treatment ≥7 and procalcitonin are unique predictors of CAAs in newly established scoring system. Taking into account different identification criteria and analytical methodologies, there is still some heterogeneity among different scoring systems., Impact: The newly established scoring system contains the five independent predictors. Days of illness at initial treatment ≥7 and PCT are unique predictors of CAAs in our study, compared with 8 other systems. There are numerous causes for ST-segment elevation on ECG, the tumoral invasion of the heart being a rarer one. Because the management will differ one should always keep in mind the presence of such entity.
