Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply influenced the primary healthcare system in Portugal. Knowing that the first two years of life are a period of major development, it is necessary to comply with all the standard moments of screening, surveillance and immunization in this period. The aim of this study was to characterize health surveillance in the first two years, as well as to evaluate the fulfilment of the guideline 008/2020 release on 26th March 2020 by the Portuguese Directorate-General for Health, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and Methods: Cross-sectional study based on the application of an anonymous questionnaire to caretakers of children until 24 months of age through social media. The collected data refers to the period of March 2020 to March 2021. Results: This study included 452 children. The coverage of the newborn metabolic screening was 99.6%. Regarding vaccination, 81.9% of the children fulfilled the national program on time and 15.9% with delay. Around 1/3 of the children experienced delay and/or cancelation of the routine consultations. In the group of children aged between 12 to 18 months (n=150), 69.3% complied with the minimum of six consultations during the 1st year of life; and in the group aged between 18 to 24 months (n=116), 72.4% complied with the minimum of one consultation during this period. Conclusion: It is necessary to create strategies to improve compliance with the 008/2020 guideline, especially regarding immunization and consultations at the defined ages, in order to optimize children health surveillance even during pandemics., Portuguese Journal of Pediatrics, Vol. 1 N.º 1 (2010): Online First

Introdução: A fibrina rica em plaquetas é um concentrado de plaquetas com potencial regenerativo ósseo e cicatrizante de tecidos. A periodontite é uma doença que destrói o aparelho de fixação do dente, que inclui o osso alveolar. A destruição do osso alveolar pode resultar na formação de defeitos intra-ósseos. Devido às propriedades apresentadas por este concentrado, o nosso estudo visa investigar a influência que este exerce no tratamento de tais defeitos. Objetivo: O objetivo deste estudo foi efetuar uma revisão sistemática integrativa sobre a eficácia do uso da fibrina rica em plaquetas na regeneração de defeitos intra-ósseos. Materiais e Métodos: Foi executada uma pesquisa bibliográfica na plataforma PubMed (via National Library of Medicine) usando a combinação dos seguintes termos científicos: “PRF”, “periodontal regeneration”; “wound healing”; “infrabony deffetcs”; “periodontal infrabony deffects”. A pesquisa identificou 707 artigos, dos quais 13 foram considerados relevantes para este estudo. Resultados: Obtivemos 13 artigos representados em fluxograma (figura 1). A caracterização da amostra foi exibida por uma tabela que inclui 9 estudos (figura 2). Conclusão: Este estudo sugere que, pelos resultados obtidos, o uso de PRF nos defeitos intra-ósseos melhora a regeneração dos defeitos intra-ósseos comparativamente a locais onde este não foi usado ou onde foram usados outros materiais. Periodontal disease destroys the tooth fixation apparatus, which includes the alveolar bone. This destruction results in infrabony defects. Due to its properties, our study intends to investigate the concentrate’s influence in the treatment of these defects. Objective: The goal of this study was to do an integrative systematic review about the efficacy of the usage of PRF for infra-bony defect regeneration. Materials nad Methods: A literature search was performed on the PubMed platform (via the National Library of Medicine) using a combination of the following scientific terms: “PRF”, “periodontal regeneration”; “wound healing”; “infrabony deffetcs”; “periodontal infrabony defects”. The search identified 707 articles, of which 13 were considered relevant for this study. Results: We got 13 articles represented in a fluxogram (figure 1). The sample characterization was shown by a table including 9 studies (figure 2). Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that PRF usage increases infrabony defect regeneration when compared to defects where PRF wasn’t used or another material was used.
