Abstract: Abstract We report multi-differential measurements of strange hadron production ranging from mid- to target-rapidity in Au+Au collisions at a center-of-momentum energy per nucleon pair of s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $$ = 3 GeV with the STAR experiment at RHIC. K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ meson and Λ hyperon yields are measured via their weak decay channels. Collision centrality and rapidity dependences of the transverse momentum spectra and particle ratios are presented. Particle mass and centrality dependence of the average transverse momenta of Λ and K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ are compared with other strange particles, providing evidence of the development of hadronic rescattering in such collisions. The 4π yields of each of these strange hadrons show a consistent centrality dependence. Discussions on radial flow, the strange hadron production mechanism, and properties of the medium created in such collisions are presented together with results from hadronic transport and thermal model calculations.

Abstract: We report on the charged-particle multiplicity dependence of net-proton cumulant ratios up to sixth order from s=200 GeV p+p collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The measured ratios C4/C2, C5/C1, and C6/C2 decrease with increased charged-particle multiplicity and rapidity acceptance. Neither the Skellam baselines nor PYTHIA8 calculations account for the observed multiplicity dependence. In addition, the ratios C5/C1 and C6/C2 approach negative values in the highest-multiplicity events, which implies that thermalized QCD matter may be formed in p+p collisions.

Abstract: We report the first measurements of cumulants, up to 4th order, of deuteron number distributions and proton-deuteron correlations in Au+Au collisions recorded by the STAR experiment in phase-I of Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Deuteron cumulants, their ratios, and proton-deuteron mixed cumulants are presented for different collision centralities covering a range of center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair sNN=7.7 to 200 GeV. It is found that the cumulant ratios at lower collision energies favor a canonical ensemble over a grand canonical ensemble in thermal models. An anti-correlation between proton and deuteron multiplicity is observed across all collision energies and centralities, consistent with the expectation from global baryon number conservation. The UrQMD model coupled with a phase-space coalescence mechanism qualitatively reproduces the collision-energy dependence of cumulant ratios and proton-deuteron correlations.

Abstract: The differential cross section for Z0 production, measured as a function of the boson's transverse momentum (pT), provides important constraints on the evolution of the transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs). The transverse single spin asymmetry (TSSA) of the Z0 is sensitive to one of the polarized TMDs, the Sivers function, which is predicted to have the opposite sign in p+p →W/Z+X from that which enters in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering. In this Letter, the STAR Collaboration reports the first measurement of the Z0/γ⁎ differential cross section as a function of its pT in p+p collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 510 GeV, together with the Z0/γ⁎ total cross section. We also report the measurement of Z0/γ⁎ TSSA in transversely polarized p+p collisions at 510 GeV.

Abstract: The chiral magnetic effect (CME) is a phenomenon that arises from the QCD anomaly in the presence of an external magnetic field. The experimental search for its evidence has been one of the key goals of the physics program of the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider. The STAR Collaboration has previously presented the results of a blind analysis of isobar collisions (_{44}^{96}Ru+_{44}^{96}Ru, _{40}^{96}Zr+_{40}^{96}Zr) in the search for the CME. The isobar ratio (Y) of CME-sensitive observable, charge separation scaled by elliptic anisotropy, is close to but systematically larger than the inverse multiplicity ratio, the naive background baseline. This indicates the potential existence of a CME signal and the presence of remaining nonflow background due to two- and three-particle correlations, which are different between the isobars. In this postblind analysis, we estimate the contributions from those nonflow correlations as a background baseline to Y, utilizing the isobar data as well as Heavy Ion Jet Interaction Generator simulations. This baseline is found consistent with the isobar ratio measurement, and an upper limit of 10% at 95% confidence level is extracted for the CME fraction in the charge separation measurement in isobar collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV.

Abstract: We report results on an elastic cross section measurement in proton–proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy s=510 GeV, obtained with the Roman Pot setup of the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The elastic differential cross section is measured in the four-momentum transfer squared range 0.23≤−t≤0.67 GeV2. This is the only measurement of the proton-proton elastic cross section in this t range for collision energies above the Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR) and below the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) colliders. We find that a constant slope B does not fit the data in the aforementioned t range, and we obtain a much better fit using a second-order polynomial for B(t). This is the first measurement below the LHC energies for which the non-constant behavior B(t) is observed. The t dependence of B is also determined using six subintervals of t in the STAR measured t range, and is in good agreement with the phenomenological models. The measured elastic differential cross section dσ/dt agrees well with the results obtained at s=540 GeV for proton–antiproton collisions by the UA4 experiment. We also determine that the integrated elastic cross section within the STAR t-range is σelfid=462.1±0.9(stat.)±1.1(syst.)±11.6(scale) μb.

Abstract: Abstract We report a new measurement of the production of electrons from open heavy-flavor hadron decays (HFEs) at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.7) in Au+Au collisions at s NN $$ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $$ = 200 GeV. Invariant yields of HFEs are measured for the transverse momentum range of 3.5 < p T < 9 GeV/c in various configurations of the collision geometry. The HFE yields in head-on Au+Au collisions are suppressed by approximately a factor of 2 compared to that in p + p collisions scaled by the average number of binary collisions, indicating strong interactions between heavy quarks and the hot and dense medium created in heavy-ion collisions. Comparison of these results with models provides additional tests of theoretical calculations of heavy quark energy loss in the quark-gluon plasma.

Abstract: Abstract Partons traversing the strongly interacting medium produced in heavy-ion collisions are expected to lose energy depending on their color charge and mass. We measure the nuclear modification factors for charm- and bottom-decay electrons, defined as the ratio of yields, divided by the number of binary nucleon–nucleon collisions, in $$\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}=200$$ s NN = 200 GeV Au+Au collisions to p+p collisions ( $$R_{\textrm{AA}}$$ R AA ), or in central to peripheral Au+Au collisions ( $$R_{\textrm{CP}}$$ R CP ). We find the bottom-decay electron $$R_{\textrm{AA}}$$ R AA and $$R_{\textrm{CP}}$$ R CP to be significantly higher than those of charm-decay electrons. Model calculations including mass-dependent parton energy loss in a strongly coupled medium are consistent with the measured data. These observations provide evidence of mass ordering of charm and bottom quark energy loss when traversing through the strongly coupled medium created in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract: Density fluctuations near the QCD critical point can be probed via an intermittency analysis in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We report the first measurement of intermittency in Au+Au collisions at sNN = 7.7-200 GeV measured by the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The scaled factorial moments of identified charged hadrons are analyzed at mid-rapidity and within the transverse momentum phase space. We observe a power-law behavior of scaled factorial moments in Au+Au collisions and a decrease in the extracted scaling exponent (ν) from peripheral to central collisions. The ν is consistent with a constant for different collisions energies in the mid-central (10-40%) collisions. Moreover, the ν in the 0-5% most central Au+Au collisions exhibits a non-monotonic energy dependence that reaches a minimum around sNN = 27 GeV. The physics implications on the QCD phase structure are discussed.

Abstract: The deconfined quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions enables the exploration of the fundamental properties of matter under extreme conditions. Noncentral collisions can produce strong magnetic fields on the order of 10^{18} G, which offers a probe into the electrical conductivity of the QGP. In particular, quarks and antiquarks carry opposite charges and receive contrary electromagnetic forces that alter their momenta. This phenomenon can be manifested in the collective motion of final-state particles, specifically in the rapidity-odd directed flow, denoted as v_{1}(y). Here, we present the charge-dependent measurements of dv_{1}/dy near midrapidities for π^{±}, K^{±}, and p(p[over ¯]) in Au+Au and isobar (_{44}^{96}Ru+_{44}^{96}Ru and _{40}^{96}Zr+_{40}^{96}Zr) collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV, and in Au+Au collisions at 27 GeV, recorded by the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The combined dependence of the v_{1} signal on collision system, particle species, and collision centrality can be qualitatively and semiquantitatively understood as several effects on constituent quarks. While the results in central events can be explained by the u and d quarks transported from initial-state nuclei, those in peripheral events reveal the impacts of the electromagnetic field on the QGP. Our data put valuable constraints on the electrical conductivity of the QGP in theoretical calculations.

Abstract: The linear and mode-coupled contributions to higher-order anisotropic flow are presented for Au+Au collisions at sNN = 27, 39, 54.4, and 200 GeV and compared to similar measurements for Pb+Pb collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The coefficients and the flow harmonics' correlations, which characterize the linear and mode-coupled response to the lower-order anisotropies, indicate a beam energy dependence consistent with an influence from the specific shear viscosity (η/s). In contrast, the dimensionless coefficients, mode-coupled response coefficients, and normalized symmetric cumulants are approximately beam-energy independent, consistent with a significant role from initial-state effects. These measurements could provide unique supplemental constraints to (i) distinguish between different initial-state models and (ii) delineate the temperature (T) and baryon chemical potential (μB) dependence of the specific shear viscosity ηs(T,μB).

Abstract: A decisive experimental test of the Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME) is considered one of the major scientific goals at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) towards understanding the nontrivial topological fluctuations of the Quantum Chromodynamics vacuum. In heavy-ion collisions, the CME is expected to result in a charge separation phenomenon across the reaction plane, whose strength could be strongly energy dependent. The previous CME searches have been focused on top RHIC energy collisions. In this Letter, we present a low energy search for the CME in Au+Au collisions at sNN=27 GeV. We measure elliptic flow scaled charge-dependent correlators relative to the event planes that are defined at both mid-rapidity |η|

Abstract: Measurements of mass and Λ binding energy of Λ4H and Λ4He in Au+Au collisions at sNN=3 GeV are presented, with an aim to address the charge symmetry breaking (CSB) problem in hypernuclei systems with atomic number A = 4. The Λ binding energies are measured to be 2.22±0.06(stat.)±0.14(syst.) MeV and 2.38±0.13(stat.)±0.12(syst.) MeV for Λ4H and Λ4He, respectively. The measured Λ binding-energy difference is 0.16±0.14(stat.)±0.10(syst.) MeV for ground states. Combined with the γ-ray transition energies, the binding-energy difference for excited states is −0.16±0.14(stat.)±0.10(syst.) MeV, which is negative and comparable to the value of the ground states within uncertainties. These new measurements on the Λ binding-energy difference in A = 4 hypernuclei systems are consistent with the theoretical calculations that result in ΔBΛ4(1exc+)≈−ΔBΛ4(0g.s.+)

Abstract: We report the first multi-differential measurements of strange hadrons of K−, ϕ and Ξ− yields as well as the ratios of ϕ/K− and ϕ/Ξ− in Au+Au collisions at sNN=3 GeV with the STAR experiment fixed target configuration at RHIC. The ϕ mesons and Ξ− hyperons are measured through hadronic decay channels, ϕ→K+K− and Ξ−→Λπ−. Collision centrality and rapidity dependence of the transverse momentum spectra for these strange hadrons are presented. The 4π yields and ratios are compared to thermal model and hadronic transport model predictions. At this collision energy, thermal model with grand canonical ensemble (GCE) under-predicts the ϕ/K− and ϕ/Ξ− ratios while the result of canonical ensemble (CE) calculations reproduce ϕ/K−, with the correlation length rc∼2.7 fm, and ϕ/Ξ−, rc∼4.2 fm, for the 0-10% central collisions. Hadronic transport models including high mass resonance decays could also describe the ratios. While thermal calculations with GCE work well for strangeness production in high energy collisions, the change to CE at 3 GeV implies a rather different medium property at high baryon density.

Abstract: In high-energy heavy-ion collisions, partonic collectivity is evidenced by the constituent quark number scaling of elliptic flow anisotropy for identified hadrons. A breaking of this scaling and dominance of baryonic interactions is found for identified hadron collective flow measurements in sNN = 3 GeV Au+Au collisions. In this paper, we report measurements of the first- and second-order azimuthal anisotropic parameters, v1 and v2, of light nuclei (d, t, 3He, 4He) produced in sNN = 3 GeV Au+Au collisions at the STAR experiment. An atomic mass number scaling is found in the measured v1 slopes of light nuclei at mid-rapidity. For the measured v2 magnitude, a strong rapidity dependence is observed. Unlike v2 at higher collision energies, the v2 values at mid-rapidity for all light nuclei are negative and no scaling is observed with the atomic mass number. Calculations by the Jet AA Microscopic Transport Model (JAM), with baryonic mean-field plus nucleon coalescence, are in good agreement with our observations, implying baryonic interactions dominate the collective dynamics in 3 GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC.

Abstract: We report on the measurements of directed flow v1 and elliptic flow v2 for hadrons (π±, K±, KS0, p, ϕ, Λ and Ξ−) from Au+Au collisions at sNN=3GeV and v2 for (π±, K±, p and p‾) at 27 and 54.4GeV with the STAR experiment. While at the two higher energy midcentral collisions the number-of-constituent-quark (NCQ) scaling holds, at 3GeV the v2 at midrapidity is negative for all hadrons and the NCQ scaling is absent. In addition, the v1 slopes at midrapidity for almost all observed hadrons are found to be positive, implying dominant repulsive baryonic interactions. The features of negative v2 and positive v1 slope at 3GeV can be reproduced with a baryonic mean-field in transport model calculations. These results imply that the medium in such collisions is likely characterized by baryonic interactions.

Abstract: Measurement by the STAR experiment at RHIC of the cold nuclear matter (CNM) effects experienced by inclusive J/ψ at mid-rapidity in 0-100% p+Au collisions at sNN = 200 GeV is presented. Such effects are quantified utilizing the nuclear modification factor, RpAu, obtained by taking a ratio of J/ψ yield in p+Au collisions to that in p+p collisions scaled by the number of binary nucleon-nucleon collisions. The differential J/ψ yield in both p+p and p+Au collisions is measured through the dimuon decay channel, taking advantage of the trigger capability provided by the Muon Telescope Detector in the RHIC 2015 run. Consequently, the J/ψ RpAu is derived within the transverse momentum (pT) range of 0 to 10 GeV/c. A suppression of approximately 30% is observed for pT

20. An analysis of Clinical, Ultrasonological and Cytopathological findings of thyroid swellings at a teaching hospital in eastern Nepal

Abstract: Background: Thyroid swelling can be benign or malignant. It is evaluated by clinical examination, Ultrasonography (USG) and Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC). This study was conducted with the aim of comparing discrepancy of diagnosis by USG, considering FNAC as gold standard. Methods: A prospective observational study of thyroid swellings with convenient sampling was carried out over a year (20 October 2020 to 19 October 2021) at Outpatient department of Nobel Medical College, Biratnagar, eastern region of Nepal. Clinical, ultrasonological and cytological parameters were recorded. Sensitivity, Specificity, Positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) were calculated. Results: Out of 120 study population, with a mean age of 45.37 years, there was female preponderance, 110(91.66%). The commonest age group was 30-40 years, 28(23.33%). On Ultrasonography, non neoplastic lesions diagnosed were in 104 (86.7%) cases, as compared to FNAC, 113(94.2%). While, malignancy was diagnosed in 16 (13.7%) cases, by USG, only 7(5.8%) cases were malignant on FNAC. The Sensitivity of USG for malignancy detection was 100%, Specificity was 92 %, Positive predictive value (PPV) was 43.75 % and Negative Predictive value (NPV) was 100% as compared to FNAC. Accuracy was 92.5%. Conclusions: Ultrasonography has an excellent diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy compared to that of FNAC.

21. Impacts of Climate Change on the Environment, Increase in Reservoir Levels, and Safety Threats to Earthen Dams: Post Failure Case Study of Two Cascading Dams in Michigan

Abstract: Climate change has received significant attention lately as it has adverse environmental impacts. Among them, rising water levels in the reservoirs are of key concern for infrastructures such as dams. Dam officials are compelled to reconsider dam safety with the increment in catastrophic floods and accelerated dam failure issues. Relatedly, there are numerous earthen dams in the US that may not be up to the current design standards as these dams are aging. They possess a higher risk of failure due to various factors such as defects in design geometry, geologic materials, and hydrologic deficiency due to extreme storms associated with changing climate. Hence, this study focuses on evaluating the impacts of climate change on earthen dams and spillways by conducting a post-failure analysis of the two cascading dams, Edenville Dam and Sanford Dam, located in Michigan, USA, that failed in series in May 2020. The study aims to accomplish three main objectives: 1) to identify the role of climate change on recent dam failures of Edenville and Sanford, 2) to perform a Windows Dam Analysis Modules (WinDAM) C simulation for the failure analysis of the two dams, and 3) to perform Hydrologic Engineering Center - River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) simulation for the failure analysis of both dams by observing downstream propagation of flood with the detailed evaluation of depth and velocity. The overall results show that extreme storms and flooding are associated with the increase in temperature and precipitation rates, impacting overall dam safety. Careful precautions should be undertaken before any of these catastrophic dam events occur. The analysis is useful for the dam agencies as they reconsider their guidelines and policies for future updates.

22. Preterm Birth, Exasperation to the South Asian Countries

Abstract: When a child is born before 37 weeks or 259 days of pregnancy, it is termed as preterm birth. Pre-term birth is prevalent in both developed and developing country. However, difference lies in their survival. In lower and middle income countries, most preterm babies die due to lack of even simple interventions. India ranks top in the world for deaths due to complications of preterm birth. Similarly, other South Asian countries, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal rank 3rd, 6th, 9th and 20th in the same. The aim of this review paper is to provide a landscape analysis on the burden of pre-term birth and challenges in the context of South Asian region. Databases such as PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar were searched from 2000 to 2020 and 27 articles are included in the study. It was found that pre-term birth causes huge burden in the form of morbidity, mortality as well as socio economic losses. Preterm birth was associated with increased sepsis, cardiovascular disease, respiratory illness, hypothermia, neurological and gastrointestinal complications. South Asian countries have distinct challenges in eliminating or reducing preterm births which are: poor quality health surveillance data, inadequate trained health workforce, insufficient finance and funding, service delivery and other methodological challenges. Ending pre-term birth is important as it is directly related to Sustainable Development Goal 3. Therefore, there should be increase in priority given to increase financing, quality data gathering, adopting innovative measures as well as joint efforts of all the sectors to control the pre-term birth.

Abstract: The development of type 2 diabetes (T2D) is largely dependent on the maintenance of pancreatic islet function and mass. Sexual dimorphism in T2D is evident in many areas, such as pathophysiology, treatment, and prevention. Mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase-2 (MKP-2) has a distinct role in the regulation of cell proliferation and the development of metabolic disorders. However, whether there is a causal relationship between MKP-2 and diabetes onset is unclear. The aim of this study was to determine the role of MKP-2 in the regulation of whole-body glucose homeostasis and the impact on pancreatic islet function using streptozotocin-induced pancreatic injury. Here, we show that female mice with whole-body deletion of MKP-2 exhibit hyperglycemia in mouse models treated with multiple low doses of streptozotocin (STZ). In comparison, both male MKP-2 wild-type and knockout mice were hyperglycemic. Consistent with the hyperglycemia, female MKP-2-deficient mice exhibited reduced islet size. Under T2D conditions, MKP-2-deficient mice display enhanced pancreatic JNK and ERK phosphorylation that is associated with the downregulation of genes important for pancreatic islet development and function, Pdx-1 and MafA. Furthermore, we found impaired metabolic flux in adipose tissue that is consistent with hyperglycemia and dysfunctional pancreas. MKP-2 deletion results in reduced Akt activation that is associated with increased adiposity and insulin resistance in female MKP-2 KO mice. These studies demonstrate the critical role of MKP-2 in the development of T2D diabetes in vivo. This suggests that MKP-2 may have a gender-specific role in diabetes development. This discovery raises the possibility that postmenopausal prevention of T2D may benefit from the activation of MKP-2 activity in islet cells.

Abstract: The p75 Neurotrophin Receptor (p75 NTR ) is a multifunctional transmembrane protein that mediates neuronal responses to pathological conditions in specific regions of the nervous system. In many biological contexts, p75 NTR signaling is initiated through sequential cleavage of the receptor by α- and γ-secretases, which releases receptor fragments for downstream signaling. Our previous research demonstrated that proteolytic processing of p75 NTR in this manner is stimulated by oxidative stress in Lund Human Mesencephalic (LUHMES) cells, a dopaminergic neuronal cell line derived from human mesencephalic tissue. Considering the vulnerability of dopaminergic neurons in the ventral mesencephalon to oxidative stress and neurodegeneration associated with Parkinson's disease (PD), we investigated the role of this signaling cascade in neurodegeneration and explored cellular processes that govern oxidative stress-induced p75 NTR signaling. In the present study, we provide evidence that oxidative stress induces cleavage of p75 NTR by promoting c-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK)-dependent internalization of p75 NTR from the cell surface. This activation of p75 NTR signaling is counteracted by tropomyosin-related kinase (Trk) receptor signaling; however, oxidative stress leads to Trk receptor downregulation, thereby enhancing p75 NTR processing. Importantly, we demonstrate that this pathway can be inhibited by LM11a-31, a small molecule modulator of p75 NTR , thereby conferring protection against neurodegeneration. Treatment with LM11a-31 significantly reduced p75 NTR cleavage and neuronal death associated with oxidative stress. These findings reveal novel mechanisms underlying activation of p75 NTR in response to oxidative stress, underscore a key role for p75 NTR in dopaminergic neurodegeneration, and highlight p75 NTR as a potential therapeutic target for reducing neurodegeneration in PD., (© 2025 International Society for Neurochemistry.)

26. Torticollis in a child with Grisel syndrome: A case report and review of the literature.

Abstract: Introduction and Importance: Grisel syndrome (GS) is a rare but potentially lethal condition characterized by non-traumatic atlantoaxial subluxation primarily affecting pediatric population following inflammatory condition of head and neck. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment is crucial for better management of symptoms and better outcomes., Case Presentation: 7-years-old child present with torticollis, sudden onset progressive neck pain, restricted range of motion and bilateral lymphadenopathy after upper respiratory tract infection (URTI). Radiological findings revealed 1st and 2nd cervical vertebrae (C1-C2) subluxation and he was diagnosed as GS. He was managed conservatively with head halter and soft collar, resulting full recovery within 2 weeks., Clinical Discussion: Grisel syndrome should be considered in pediatric population presenting with neck pain and torticollis following URTI or surgery, demanding early radiological imaging and prompt treatment to prevent complications., Conclusion: Early diagnosis and prompt treatment alleviates neurological complications and necessity of surgical intervention., Competing Interests: Declaration of competing interest The authors declare no conflict of interest., (Copyright © 2025 The Author(s). Abstract: Any research involving human participants requires review and approval from an authorized research ethics committee to safeguard participant's rights, dignity and welfare while ensuring the scientific validity of the research. Ethical approval is mandatory before initiating or ecruiting study participants. It is also a prerequisite for publishing research findings in scientific journals contributing to ensuring the quality of scientific knowledge. The ethical review process focuses on the assessment of potential risks to the participants as well as the research team focusing on how such risks are identified, minimized and managed. This paper provides an overview of the Nepal Health Research Council's ethical review and approval process for both national and international researchers intending to conduct health research in Nepal. Despite this, the Nepalese ethics committee and researcher face several challenges, including limited awareness of responsible conduct of research, limited training opportunities, unclear clinical trial guidelines, bureaucratic hurdles, and frequent staff turnover in research governance. This paper highlights these challenges and aims to support both researchers and the Ethics Committee in promoting the responsible conduct of health research in Nepal. Abstract: The quadriceps angle, knowns as the Q-angle, is an anatomical feature of the human body that is still largely unknown and unstudied despite its initial discovery in the 1950s. The strength disparities between male and female athletes are largely determined by the Q-angle. In spite of a growing number of women participating in sports such as track, tennis, soccer, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and softball, studies investigating injuries in this group are scanty. Even though the Q-angle has been the subject of many studies carried out all over the world, a review of the literature regarding its effects on health and injury risk in female athletes has not yet been completed. The aim of this review is to examine the crucial role of the Q-angle in the biomechanics of the knee joint and its effect on performance and injury risk, particularly in female athletes. Furthermore, we highlight the greater likelihood of knee-related injuries seen in female athletes being caused by the Q-angle. Athletes, coaches, healthcare professionals, and athletic trainers can better comprehend and prepare for the benefits and drawbacks resulting from the Q-angle by familiarizing themselves with the research presented in this review.

29. The impact of paraspinal muscle morphology on functional outcome in patients with degenerative lumbar spine disease undergoing surgery - A prospective observational study.

Abstract: Introduction: Paraspinal muscle atrophy has been implicated in low back pain (LBP) as well as degenerative disc disease, lumbar spinal stenosis, and disc herniation. The objective of the study was to determine the association of paraspinal muscle morphology with functional outcomes in patients undergoing spine surgery in degenerative spine diseases., Research Question: Can the degree of paraspinal muscle atrophy be a reliable prognostic indicator of post-operative functional outcome in patients undergoing surgery for degenerative lumbar spine disease?, Materials and Methods: Forty-one patients with degenerative lumbar spine disease planned for surgery were included. Pre-operative and postoperative MRI-based muscle morphology including total cross-sectional area (TCSA) and muscle atrophy were recorded. Association between muscle parameters and functional status as indicated from the visual analogue scale (VAS), and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were assessed, and compared between prior and after surgery., Results: The MF and ES cross-sectional area on MRI was in proportion to the functional status. (higher ODI and VAS). Preoperative MF TCSA was positively correlated with preoperative ODI ((r = -0.441, p = = 0.032), preoperative VAS (r = -0.338, p = 0.048) and was negatively correlated with change in ODI (r = -0.268, p = 0.016) while preoperative ES TCSA was negatively correlated with preoperative ODI (r = -0.420, p = 0.003). Preoperative ODI, change in ODI and preoperative VAS had significant correlation with muscle atrophy ( p < 0.05). There was a positive correlation between preoperative ODI with Grade 2 ( r = 0.332, p = 0.016) and Grade 3 ( r = 0.299, p = 0.048) MF muscle; and Grade 2 ( r = 0.308, p = 0.067) and Grade 3 ( r = 0.202, p = 0.018) ES muscles atrophy. The change in ODI, negatively correlated with Grade 3 MF and ES atrophy (r = -0.332, p = 0.018 and r = -0.286, P = 0.011 respectively). Linear regression analysis showed duration of symptom (p = 0.005) was positively associated with preoperative ODI. Age and BMI were negatively associated with improvement in ODI. (p = 0.073, 0.098 respectively)., Discussion and Conclusion: Preoperative paraspinal muscle area is an independent variable that affects preoperative functional status. The genus Arthrobacter , known for its metabolic versatility can degrade several xenobiotic compounds. Arthrobacter strains have also undergone frequent taxonomic revisions and reclassifications to strains including Pseudarthrobacter and Glutamicibacter . Here, we present the complete genome sequence of Glutamicibacter protophormiae strain NG4, isolated from a coastal area surrounded by chemical plants. Further, through comparative genomics involving 55 strains from Glutamicibacter , Arthrobacter , and Pseudarthrobacter , we elucidated taxonomic relationships and xenobiotic degradation potential. Our genomics-based findings revealed a generally even distribution of xenobiotic-degrading genes and pathways among the studied strains. Glutamicibacter species emerged as potential candidate for steroid degradation. A significant number of host-specific and environmental isolates predominantly possessed pathways for 4-hydroxybenzoate (4-HB) degradation and only the environmental isolates possessed benzoate degradation pathway. Certain Arthrobacter and Pseudarthrobacter species isolated from the environmental settings were identified as potential degraders of toluene, xylene, and phenanthrene. Notably, most strains contained pathways for azathioprine, capecitabine, and 5-fluorouridine pharmaceutical drug metabolism. Overall, our findings shed light on microbial metabolic diversity among 55 strains isolated from diverse sources and hint the importance of strict environmental monitoring. 31. Open laminectomy vs. minimally invasive laminectomy for lumbar spinal stenosis: a review.

Abstract: Objectives: Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) refers to a narrowing of the space within the spinal canal, which can occur at any level but is most common in the lumbar spine. Open laminectomy and minimally invasive laminectomy (MIL) procedures are the most common surgical gold standard techniques for treating LSS. This study aims to review clinical and biomechanical literature to draw comparisons between open laminectomy and various MIL techniques. The MIL variation comprises microendoscopic decompression laminotomy, unilateral partial hemilaminectomy, and microendoscopic laminectomy., Methods: A review was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. We reviewed 25 clinical, 6 finite element, and 3 cadaveric studies associated with treating LSS. We reviewed literature that discusses factors such as operation time, length of hospital stay, postoperative complications, reoperation rate, effect on elderly patients, patients' satisfaction, and adjacent segment disease degeneration for the clinical studies, whereas the range of motion (ROM), von Mises stresses, and stability was compared in biomechanical studies., Results: MIL involves less bone and ligament removal, resulting in shorter hospital stays and lower reoperation and complication rates than open laminectomy. It improves the quality of health-related living standards and reduces postoperative pain. Abstract: Roots play a crucial role in plant development, serving to absorb water and nutrients from the soil while also providing structural stability. However, the impacts of global warming can impede root growth by altering soil conditions that hinder overall plant growth. To address this challenge, there is a need to screen and identify plant genotypes with superior Root System Architecture traits (RSA), that can be used for future breeding efforts in enhancing their resilience to these environmental changes. In this project, 500 mid to late-maturity soybean accessions were grown on blue blotting papers hydroponically with six replicates and assessed seven RSA traits. Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS) were carried out with root phenotypic data and SNP data from the SoySNP50K iSelect SNP BeadChip, using both the TASSEL 5.0 and FarmCPU techniques. A total of 26 significant SNP-trait correlations were discovered, with 11 SNPs on chromosome 13. After SNP selection, we identified 14 candidate genes within 100-kb regions flanking the SNPs, which are related to root architecture. Notably, Glyma.17G258700, which exhibited substantial differential expression in root tips and its Arabidopsis homolog, AT4G24190 (GRP94) is involved in the regulation of meristem size and organization. Other candidate genes includes Glyma.03G023000 and Glyma.13G273500 that are also play a key role in lateral root initiation and root meristem growth, respectively. These findings significantly contribute to the discovery of key genes associated with root system architecture, facilitating the breeding of resilient cultivars adaptable to changing climates., (© 2024. Abstract: We report a measurement of exclusive J/ψ and ψ(2s) photoproduction in Au+Au ultraperipheral collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV using the STAR detector. For the first time, (i) the ψ(2s) photoproduction in midrapidity at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider has been experimentally measured; (ii) nuclear suppression factors are measured for both the coherent and incoherent J/ψ production. At average photon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 25.0 GeV, the coherent and incoherent J/ψ cross sections of Au nuclei are found to be 71±10% and 36±7%, respectively, of that of free protons. The stronger suppression observed in the incoherent production provides a new experimental handle to study the initial-state parton density in heavy nuclei. Data are compared with theoretical models quantitatively.

Abstract: p-Hydroxybenzoate hydroxylase (PHBH) catalyzes the ortho-hydroxylation of 4-hydroxybenzoate (4-HB) to protocatechuate (PCA). PHBHs are commonly known as homodimers, and the prediction of pyridine nucleotide binding and specificity remains an ongoing focus in this field. Therefore, our study aimed to determine the dimerization interface in AspPHBH from Arthrobacter sp. PAMC25564 and identify the canonical pyridine nucleotide-binding residues, along with coenzyme specificity, through site-directed mutagenesis. The results confirm a functional dimeric assembly from a tetramer that appeared in the crystallographic asymmetric unit identical to that established in previous studies. Furthermore, AspPHBH exhibits coenzyme versatility, utilizing both NADH and NADPH, with a preference for NADH. Rational engineering experiments demonstrated that targeted mutations in coenzyme surrounding residues profoundly impact NADPH binding, leading to nearly abrogated enzymatic activity compared to that of NADH. R50, R273, and S166 emerged as significant residues for NAD(P)H binding, having a near-fatal impact on NADPH binding compared to NADH. Likewise, the E44 residue plays a critical role in determining coenzyme specificity. 36. Intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy in neurosurgical patients: A systematic review.

Abstract: Background: Perioperative fluid management is critical in neurosurgery as over perfusion can lead to brain edema whereas under perfusion may lead to brain hypoperfusion or ischemia. We aimed to determine the effectiveness of intraoperative goal-directed fluid therapy (GDFT) in patients undergoing intracranial surgeries., Methods: We searched MEDLINE, Cochrane, and PubMed databases and forward-backward citations for studies published between database inception and February 22, 2024. Randomized controlled trials where intraoperative GDFT was performed in neurosurgery and compared to the conventional regime were included in the study. GDFT was compared with the conventional regime as per primary outcomes - total intraoperative fluid requirement, serum lactate, hemodynamics, brain relaxation, urine output, serum biochemistry, and secondary outcomes - intensive care unit and hospital length of stay. The quality of evidence was assessed with the Cochrane risk of bias tool. This study is registered on PROSPERO (CRD42024518816)., Results: Of 75 records identified, eight were eligible, the majority of which had a low to moderate risk of overall bias. In four studies, more fluid was given in the control group. No difference in postoperative lactate values was noted in 50% of studies. In the remaining 50%, lactate was more in the control group. Three out of four studies did not find any significant difference in the incidence of intraoperative hypotension, and four out of six studies did not find a significant difference in vasopressor requirement. The majority of studies did not show significant differences in urine output, brain relaxation, and length of stay between both groups. None found any difference in acid base status or electrolyte levels., Conclusion: GDFT, when compared to the conventional regime in neurosurgery, showed that the total volume of fluids administered was lesser in the GDFT group with no increase in serum lactate. 37. Status of Research Funding in Nepal: A Scoping Review.

Abstract: With the rapid advancement of health delivery, there has been a renewed interest in conducting research among healthcare professionals in Nepal. However, concern is there regarding availability of funds and mechanisms of awarding. The purpose of this scoping review is to map the available evidence regarding the evolution and current status of health research funding in Nepal and to highlight gaps and areas for future research. We searched three databases for empirical papers and several gray literature. Our search, conducted between March and April 2024 yielded 76 documents of which 30 that met the selection criteria were included in the scoping review. Almost all studies identified lack of funding as a deterrent to research. We found a paucity of research focusing on the role of researchers in funding decision-making. Our findings revealed that there are 12 national and four international organizations providing funds for research. University Grant Commission is the largest funder from Nepal whereas the Research Council of Norway is the biggest international funder. There were certain barriers and facilitators for obtaining funds identified by this scoping review. Further efforts are needed to increase the amount and availability of funds in Nepal to enable high-quality research.

Medical ethics is the soul that can not only prevent future dilemmas but can overall make a healthcare worker 'feel' and have empathy for the patient. From the story of Paul and the true life stories of patients we encountered during our visit to the Leprosy center, we got a sense of empathy. Ethical practice and empathy are the pillars that can play a vital role in the rapidly increasing level of violence against the Health care professionals. So it is an emerging need to have medical ethics as a part of the curriculum among medical students.

Abstract: Background: This study investigated the biomechanical properties of a new plate used for the treatment of posterolateral tibial plateau fractures using finite element analysis., Methods: The study groups were as follows: group PM, model of the new plate with posteromedial tibial plateau fracture; group PL, model of the new plate with posterolateral tibial plateau fracture; and group PC, model of the new plate with posterior tibial plateau fracture. We used two loading modes: uniform loading on the entire plateau, and loading on the posterior plateau. Data such as the displacement of the fracture and distribution of stress on the new plate and screws were recorded and analyzed., Results: When the whole plateau was loaded, the displacement of fractures in groups PM, PL, and PC were 0.273, 0.114, and 0.265 mm, respectively. The maximum stresses on the plates in groups PM, PL, and PC were 118.131 MPa, 44.191 MPa, and 115.433 MPa. The maximum stresses on the screws in Groups PM, PL, and PC were 166.731, 80.330, and 164.439 MPa, respectively. When the posterior tibial plateau was loaded, the displacement of the fractures in groups PM, PL, and PC was 0.410, 0.213, and 0.390 mm, respectively. The maximum stresses on the plates in groups PM, PL, and PC were 194.012 MPa, 72.806 MPa, and 185.535 MPa. The maximum stresses on the screws in Groups PM, PL, and PC were 278.265, 114.839, and 266.396 MPa, respectively., Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that titanium plates have good fixation effects in all groups; therefore, the use of the new plate for posterolateral tibial plateau fractures appears to be safe and valid., (© 2024. Abstract: Introduction: The universal health research ethical principles must be adhered to ensure a balance between science and safeguarding participants' rights, safety and dignity. A cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice of research ethics among researchers in Nepal., Methods: The study was carried out among 449 researchers who submitted proposals for ethical review and approval from the Ethical Review Board of the Nepal Health Research Council between January 2017 to August 2021. Simple random sampling was done ensuring a proportional representation of researchers from all areas of health research. A structured questionnaire was administered online for data collection., Results: The participants aged between 23-80 years old consented to complete the survey questionnaire. The median age of the respondents was 35 (23-80) years. Among all the respondents, 52 (11.58%) were unaware about the National Ethical Guideline for Health Research. Similarly, 110 (24.50%) respondents strongly agreed that the ethical review process impairs research and makes it harder for researchers to conduct research; 372 (82.85%) respondents had pursued research activity only after obtaining ethical approval., Conclusions: Half of the respondents had knowledge on different aspects of research ethics.

Abstract: Background: COVID-19 is a highly challenging infectious disease. Research ethics committees (RECs) have challenges reviewing research on this new pandemic disease under a tight timeline and public pressure. This study aimed to assess RECs' responses and review during the outbreak in seven Asian countries where the Strategic Initiative for Developing Capacity in Ethical Review (SIDCER) networks are active., Methods: The online survey was conducted in seven Asian countries from April to August 2021. Two sets of online questionnaires were developed, one set for the chairs/secretaries and another set for the REC members.The REC profiles obtained from the REC members are descriptive in nature. Data from the chairs/secretaries were compared between the RECs with external quality assessment (SIDCER-Recognized RECs, SR-RECs) and non-external quality assessment (Non-SIDCER-Recognized RECs, NSR-RECs) and analyzed using a Chi-squared test., Results: A total of 688 REC members and 197 REC chairs/secretaries participated in the survey. Most RECs have standard operating procedures (SOPs), and have experience in reviewing all types of protocols, but 18.1% had no experience reviewing COVID-19 protocols. Most REC members need specific training on reviewing COVID-19 protocols (93%). In response to the outbreak, RECs used online reviews, increased meeting frequency and single/central REC. All SR-RECs had a member composition as required by the World Health Organisation ethics guidelines, while some NSR-RECs lacked non-affiliated and/or layperson members. SR-RECs reviewed more COVID-related product development protocols and indicated challenges in reviewing risk/benefit and vulnerability (0.010), informed consent form (0.002), and privacy and confidentiality (P = 0.020) than NSR-RECs., Conclusions: Surveyed RECs had a general knowledge of REC operation and played a significant role in reviewing COVID-19-related product development protocols. Abstract: The polarization of Λ and Λ[over ¯] hyperons along the beam direction has been measured relative to the second and third harmonic event planes in isobar Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV. This is the first experimental evidence of the hyperon polarization by the triangular flow originating from the initial density fluctuations. The amplitudes of the sine modulation for the second and third harmonic results are comparable in magnitude, increase from central to peripheral collisions, and show a mild p_{T} dependence. The azimuthal angle dependence of the polarization follows the vorticity pattern expected due to elliptic and triangular anisotropic flow, and qualitatively disagrees with most hydrodynamic model calculations based on thermal vorticity and shear induced contributions. The model results based on one of existing implementations of the shear contribution lead to a correct azimuthal angle dependence, but predict centrality and p_{T} dependence that still disagree with experimental measurements. Thus, our results provide stringent constraints on the thermal vorticity and shear-induced contributions to hyperon polarization. Comparison to previous measurements at RHIC and the LHC for the second-order harmonic results shows little dependence on the collision system size and collision energy.

Abstract: Introduction: Intrauterine insemination is often performed as the first-line treatment option in many subfertility cases. Successful intrauterine insemination treatment among indicated couples helps to reduce unnecessary in-vitro fertilisation treatment. Although widely practised, the data on pregnancy after intrauterine insemination treatment is limited. The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of pregnancy among women undergoing intrauterine insemination in a centre., Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at a centre among women undergoing intrauterine insemination. Data from 15 May 2017 to 15 April 2021 were collected between 16 June 2022 to 1 July 2022 from the hospital records. Ethical approval was taken from the Nepal Health Research Council. Systematic sampling technique was applied to select the appropriate sample. The point estimate was calculated at a 95% Confidence Interval., Results: Among 225 women undergoing intrauterine insemination, pregnancy was achieved in 23 (10.22%) (6.26-14.18, 95% Confidence Interval). The mean age of pregnant women was 29.17±3.34 years and the mean duration of infertility was 3.93±2.90 years. More than half of the pregnant women 13 (56.52%) had undergone insemination with the husband's semen whereas the remaining 10 women (43.48%) had undergone insemination with donor semen., Conclusions: The prevalence of pregnancy among women undergoing intrauterine insemination was similar to other studies done in similar settings., Keywords: artificial insemination; Nepal; pregnancy rate.

Abstract: The elliptic (v_{2}) and triangular (v_{3}) azimuthal anisotropy coefficients in central ^{3}He+Au, d+Au, and p+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV are measured as a function of transverse momentum (p_{T}) at midrapidity (|η|<0.9), via the azimuthal angular correlation between two particles both at |η|<0.9. While the v_{2}(p_{T}) values depend on the colliding systems, the v_{3}(p_{T}) values are system independent within the uncertainties, suggesting an influence on eccentricity from subnucleonic fluctuations in these small-sized systems. These results also provide stringent constraints for the hydrodynamic modeling of these systems.

46. Rice straw for energy and value-added products in China: a review.

Abstract: The rise of global waste and the decline of fossil fuels are calling for recycling waste into energy and materials. For example, rice straw, a by-product of rice cultivation, can be converted into biogas and by-products with added value, e.g., biofertilizer, yet processing rice straw is limited by the low energy content, high ash and silica, low nitrogen, high moisture, and high-quality variability. Here, we review the recycling of rice straw with focus on the global and Chinese energy situations, conversion of rice straw into energy and gas, biogas digestate management, cogeneration, biogas upgrading, bioeconomy, and life cycle assessment. The quality of rice straw can be improved by pretreatments, such as baling, ensiling, and co-digestion of rice straw with other feedstocks. The biogas digestate can be used to fertilize soils. 47. Thoracic epidural Ewing sarcoma mimicking an epidural abscess: A case report.

Abstract: Introduction and Importance: Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is a malignant mesenchymal tumor that is categorized as a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) and is a member of the "small round-cell tumor" family. Spinal extraosseous extradural lesions are highly uncommon in PNETs. There are few clinical studies and information on extra-osseous Ewing tumor outcomes., Case Presentation: A 19-year-old woman, with progressive dull aching low back pain of a duration of one month presented. Examination revealed, no knee or ankle reflexes and an MRC power of 0/5 across bilateral ankle and knee joints. The bilateral lower limb's pain, touch, and temperature all received a score of 0/2 on the sensory grading scale. An x-ray revealed radio-opacity at the 9th and 10th thoracic vertebra. The diagnosis of Pott's spine having a likely tubercular abscess was made after an MRI revealed a heterogeneously enhancing collection at T9-T10 communicating with the posterior epidural space. During surgery, an isolated epidural mass with no apparent bony extension was present. The diagnosis was changed to EES based on the results of the histopathology and CD 99 immunohistochemistry tests. Chemotherapy was started. Following up with the patient two months later revealed that her power and sensation in both lower limbs had improved., Clinical Discussion: Usually, children and young adults are affected by Ewing's sarcoma. Due to the rarity of extradural thoracic Ewing sarcoma, its exact prevalence is unknown, Most EES have early distant metastases to the lungs and bones and are rapidly growing. It exhibits the compressive myelopathy symptom. It is challenging to distinguish EES from other spinal tumors and from the TB spine because no specific radiologic patterns for intra-spinal EES and PNETs have been described. Due to its rarity, the spinal epidural treatment protocol is not well established. However, the reported cases show that excision and combined radiotherapy have promising outcome., Conclusion: Epidural Ewing sarcoma should be one of the differentials even in the region with a high prevalence of Potts's spine in young patients presenting with back pain and myelopathy-like symptoms. Abstract: We report here the first observation of directed flow (v_{1}) of the hypernuclei _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H in mid-central Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3 GeV at RHIC. These data are taken as part of the beam energy scan program carried out by the STAR experiment. From 165×10^{6} events in 5%-40% centrality, about 8400 _{Λ}^{3}H and 5200 _{Λ}^{4}H candidates are reconstructed through two- and three-body decay channels. We observe that these hypernuclei exhibit significant directed flow. Comparing to that of light nuclei, it is found that the midrapidity v_{1} slopes of _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H follow baryon number scaling, implying that the coalescence is the dominant mechanism for these hypernuclei production in the 3 GeV Au+Au collisions.

Abstract: We report the triton (t) production in midrapidity (|y|<0.5) Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=7.7-200 GeV measured by the STAR experiment from the first phase of the beam energy scan at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The nuclear compound yield ratio (N_{t}×N_{p}/N_{d}^{2}), which is predicted to be sensitive to the fluctuation of local neutron density, is observed to decrease monotonically with increasing charged-particle multiplicity (dN_{ch}/dη) and follows a scaling behavior. The dN_{ch}/dη dependence of the yield ratio is compared to calculations from coalescence and thermal models. Enhancements in the yield ratios relative to the coalescence baseline are observed in the 0%-10% most central collisions at 19.6 and 27 GeV, with a significance of 2.3σ and 3.4σ, respectively, giving a combined significance of 4.1σ. The enhancements are not observed in peripheral collisions or model calculations without critical fluctuation, and decreases with a smaller p_{T} acceptance. The physics implications of these results on the QCD phase structure and the production mechanism of light nuclei in heavy-ion collisions are discussed.

50. Neuronal Differentiation and Outgrowth Effect of Thymol in Trachyspermum ammi Seed Extract via BDNF/TrkB Signaling Pathway in Prenatal Maternal Supplementation and Primary Hippocampal Culture.

Abstract: Reviving the neuronal functions in neurodegenerative disorders requires the promotion of neurite outgrowth. Thymol, which is a principal component of Trachyspermum ammi seed extract (TASE), is reported to have neuroprotective effects. However, the effects of thymol and TASE on neuronal differentiation and outgrowth are yet to be studied. This study is the first report investigating the neuronal growth and maturation effects of TASE and thymol. Pregnant mice were orally supplemented with TASE (250 and 500 mg/kg), thymol (50 and 100 mg/kg), vehicle, and positive controls. The supplementation significantly upregulated the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and early neuritogenesis markers in the pups' brains at post-natal day 1 (P1). Similarly, the BDNF level was significantly upregulated in the P12 pups' brains. Furthermore, TASE (75 and 100 µg/mL) and thymol (10 and 20 µM) enhanced the neuronal polarity, early neurite arborization, and maturation of hippocampal neurons in a dose-dependent manner in primary hippocampal cultures. The stimulatory activities of TASE and thymol on neurite extension involved TrkB signaling, as evidenced by attenuation via ANA-12 (5 µM), which is a specific TrkB inhibitor. Moreover, TASE and thymol rescued the nocodazole-induced blunted neurite extension in primary hippocampal cultures, suggesting their role as a potent microtubule stabilizing agent. These findings demonstrate the potent capacities of TASE and thymol in promoting neuronal development and reconstruction of neuronal circuitry, which are often compromised in neurodegenerative diseases and acute brain injuries.
