Abstract

To address the control challenges associated with the increasing share of inverter-connected renewable energy resources, this paper proposes a direct data-driven approach for fast frequency control in the bulk power system. The proposed control scheme partitions the power system into control areas, and leverages local dispatchable inverter-based resources to rapidly mitigate local power imbalances upon events. The controller design is based directly on historical measurement sequences, and does not require identification of a parametric power system model. Theoretical results are provided to support the approach. Simulation studies on a nonlinear three-area test system demonstrate that the controller provides fast and localized frequency control under several types of contingencies.

Abstract

We develop and test a data-driven and area-based fast frequency control scheme, which rapidly redispatches inverter-based resources to compensate for local power imbalances within the bulk power system. The approach requires no explicit system model information, relying only on historical measurement sequences for the computation of control actions. Our technical approach fuses developments in low-gain estimator design and data-driven control to provide a model-free and practical solution for fast frequency control. Abstract

We propose a novel hierarchical frequency and voltage control design for multi-area power system integrated with inverter-based resources (IBRs). The design is based on the idea of prioritizing the use of IBRs over conventional generator-based control in compensating for sudden and unpredicted changes in loads and generations, and thereby mitigate any undesired dynamics in the frequency or the voltage by exploiting their fast actuation time constants. A new sequential optimization problem, referred to as Area Prioritized Power Flow (APPF), is formulated to model this prioritization. It is shown that compared to conventional power flow APPF not only leads to a fairer balance between the dispatch of active and reactive power from the IBRs and the synchronous generators, but also limits the impact of any contingency from spreading out beyond its respective control area, thereby guaranteeing a better collective dynamic performance of the grid. This improvement, however, comes at the cost of adding an extra layer of communication needed for executing APPF in a hierarchical way. Results are validated using simulations of a 9-machine, 6-IBR, 33-bus, 3-area power system model, illustrating how APPF can mitigate a disturbance faster and more efficiently by prioritizing the use of local area-resources.

Abstract

Brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a rare congenital disorder affecting young adults with an incidence of 0.94 per 100,000 population. Intracranial digital subtraction angiography has to be done in all patients and grading of AVM is done as per Spetzler-Martin grading. We report a rare case of left basal ganglia large AVM treated by endovascular embolization. Our experience with endovascular embolization using Onyx is successful in the treatment of large brain AVM. Endovascular embolization with Onyx is safe and feasible in deeply located large AVMs of the brain. Our patient has postoperatively recovered completely without any neurological deficit. Abstract

Aim: Aim of the study is evaluate the efficacy of HBSS, Green tea extract and Aloe Vera gel as storage media in maintaining the viability of periodontal ligament cell. Material and Method: Fifty- five human teeth with closed apices and with apparently normal periodontium were extracted as atraumatically as possible for orthodontic reasons were collected for study. Teeth were randomly divided into positive control group, negative control group, three experimental group. Teeth in experimental groups were dried for 30 minutes (including time taken for curetting coronal PDL cells), followed by a 45-minute immersion in one of the three storage solution groups. The teeth in positive control group after extraction was immediately treated with collagenase. The teeth in negative control group were bench- dried for 8 hours, with no follow- up storage solution time, and then placed in the collagenase. Result: HBSS is the best medium for the maintaining the viability of the PDL Cells.But easier availability and cost effectiveness, GTE and Aloe Vera Gel can be advocated as a viable storage medium. Conclusion: It can be concluded that GTE and Aloe Vera Gel can be advocated as a viable storage medium.

Abstract

Coronary artery disease (CAD) and diabetes continue to pose both a public health risk and an economic burden to societies. The conditions both individually and collectively increase mortality and morbidity. Whilst many of the means of reducing risk resides with the individual, most of the research in this field has focussed on disease endpoints rather than patient-focussed outcomes. We propose and umbrella review protocol that can be employed to highlight the most common outcomes, and the means of assessing these outcomes in patients with CAD and diabetes (either type I or II). Methods This protocol has been designed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Guidelines for Umbrella Reviews We applied these guidelines and developed a search strategy in collaboration with an academic to identify relevant peer-reviewed literature via the healthcare databases, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), National Institute of Health (NIH)/Medline, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Scopus, and the National Health Service (NHS) Centre for Reviews and Dissemination (CRD). Discussion The review will provide a contemporary insight into the outcomes most evaluated in this field of research, and the instruments used to measure them. These findings will inform a future study to explore the value of these outcomes to clinicians and patients

Abstract

The traditional frequent item-set mining is most popular and widely used technique for mining of related items. It considers whether the item is present or absence in dataset. However, item quantity and its importance is need to be consider for some real-world problem such as identify profitable items from the customer transaction dataset in supermarket, discover valuable customer for business, in medical field identify the combination of symptoms that are more significant to diseases. High utility itemset mining considers item quantity and its importance. Many researches have been done on the high utility itemset mining.Among them, utility list-based methods are efficient as it does not generate the candidate set. However, drawback of such techniques is lot of expensive join operations on utility list which degrades the performance of algorithmby increasing the storage requirement and time for execution. We proposed Predicted Utility Co-Exist Structure known as PUCS to store the utility data and Predicted Utility Co-Exist Pruning known as PUCP to eliminate unnecessary utility list join operations. It improves the algorithm’s performance. We experiment the proposed approach on standard real-life datasets and results are compared with existing methods. According to experimental result analysis, proposed PUCP-miner outperforms existing approaches concerning execution time and memory requirement.In terms of execution time, proposed approach achieves more than 20 % improvement and for memory consideration, proposed approach got 3% improvement compared to state of the art approaches.

Abstract

Photo‐electrochemical production of solar fuels from carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight is an appealing approach. Nevertheless, it remains challenging to scale despite encouraging demonstrations at low power input. Higher current densities require notable voltage input as ohmic losses and activation overpotentials become more significant, resulting in lower solar‐to‐CO conversion efficiencies. A concentrated photovoltaic cell is integrated into a custom‐made heat managed photo‐electrochemical device. The heat is transferred from the photovoltaic module to the zero‐gap electrolyzer cell by the stream of anodic reactant and produce synergetic effects on both sides. With solar concentrations up to 450 suns (i.e., 450 kW m−2) applied for the first time to photo‐electrochemical reduction of CO2, a partial current for CO production of 4 A is achieved. At optimal conditions, the solar‐to‐CO conversion efficiency reaches 17% while maintaining a current density of 150 mA cm−2 in the electrolyzer and a CO selectivity above 90%, representing an overall 19% solar‐to‐fuel conversion efficiency. This study represents a first demonstration of photo‐electrochemical CO2 reduction under highly concentrated light, paving the way for resource efficient solar fuel production at high power input. 49. Data-Driven Fast Frequency Control using Inverter-Based Resources

Abstract

To address the control challenges associated with the increasing share of inverter-connected renewable energy resources, this paper proposes a direct data-driven approach for fast frequency control in the bulk power system. The proposed control scheme partitions the power system into control areas, and leverages local dispatchable inverter-based resources to rapidly mitigate local power imbalances upon events. The controller design is based directly on historical measurement sequences, and does not require identification of a parametric power system model. Theoretical results are provided to support the approach. Simulation studies on a nonlinear three-area test system demonstrate that the controller provides fast and localized frequency control under several types of contingencies.

Abstract

Tinospora cordifolia is an important traditional botanical medicine used as an immunomodulator with diversified therapeutic potential. The present study used the systematic isolated Tinospora cordifolia compounds (tinosporide, 8‐hydroxy tinosporide, tinosporaside, cordifolioside A, 20‐β‐hydroxy ecdysone, and columbin) with four alkaloids (syringin, magnoflorine, tetrahydropalmatine, and jatrorrhizine) to develop and validate a high‐performance liquid chromatography method for simultaneous quantification of these multi‐class bioactive. This novel method showed good specificity with excellent linearity (r2 > 0.99), precision (relative standard deviation < 5.0%), and robust and accurate performance (93.68–99.76%) for 10 Tinospora cordifolia compounds as an effective strategy for quantification using the single and multi‐class standards approach. The rapid marker‐based qualitative high‐performance thin‐layer chromatography methods were also developed to analyze samples as a visual quality control tool. These methods were first applied to analyze 15 Tinospora cordifolia samples using the external standard method. By analyzing the results based on the multi‐class (%relative error 2.19–10.56) and single standard (%relative error 25.00–70.50) approach, the multi‐class standard assessment can be effectively adapted for Tinospora cordifolia samples. The quantitative‐qualitative analysis was further confirmed with mass spectroscopy characterization. This multi‐faceted analytical approach provides a unique solution for fingerprint, quality assurance, and identification of Tinospora cordifolia with tinosporide, 8‐hydroxy tinosporide, and tinosporaside as an authenticated marker.
