Mn 3 Sn, a metallic antiferromagnet with an anti-chiral 120 ° spin structure, generates intriguing magneto-transport signatures such as a large anomalous Hall effect, spin-polarized current with novel symmetries, anomalous Nernst effect, and magneto-optic Kerr effect. When grown epitaxially as MgO(110)[001] ∥ Mn 3 Sn(0 1 ¯ 1 ¯ 0)[0001], Mn 3 Sn experiences a uniaxial tensile strain, which changes the bulk sixfold anisotropy to a twofold perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA). Here, we investigate the field-assisted spin–orbit-torque (SOT)-driven dynamics in single-domain Mn 3 Sn with PMA. We find that for non-zero external magnetic fields, the magnetic octupole moment of Mn 3 Sn can be switched between the two stable states if the input current is between two field-dependent critical currents. Below the lower critical current, the magnetic octupole moment exhibits a stationary state in the vicinity of the initial stable state. On the other hand, above the higher critical current, the magnetic octupole moment shows oscillatory dynamics which could, in principle, be tuned from the 100s of megahertz to the terahertz range. We obtain approximate analytic expressions of the two critical currents that agree very well with the numerical simulations for experimentally relevant magnetic fields. We also obtain a unified functional form of the switching time vs the input current for different magnetic fields. Finally, we show that for lower values of Gilbert damping (α ≲ 2 × 10 − 3 ), the critical currents and the final steady states depend significantly on α. The numerical and analytic results presented in our work can be used by both theorists and experimentalists to understand the SOT-driven order dynamics in PMA Mn 3 Sn and design future experiments and devices. According to International Diabetes Federation Diabetes Atlas statistics, diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of vision loss in blinding diseases. The underlying cause of retinal vasculopathy progression in diabetic patients is hyperglycemia and hypoxia features in microvascular region. Hence, cyanobacteria are used as carriers to load both gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) with glucose oxidase‐like activity and iridium nanoparticles (Ir NPs) with catalase‐like activity, respectively (Cyano@Au@Ir). The Au NPs nanozyme first degrades glucose into hydrogen peroxide, which is further decomposed into H2O and O2 by the Ir NPs to complete the cascade hypoglycemic reaction. Based on the unique light transmittance of eyeball and the accumulation of light in the retinal area, the sustainable O2 production by Cyano greatly alleviates the hypoxia of microenvironment, leading to the decrease of angiogenic growth factor and hypoxia‐inducible factor expressions. Simultaneously, the highly expressed peroxide in the DR microenvironment can also be eliminated by Ir NPs for anti‐inflammatory property. Furthermore, it is demonstrated in DR animal model that Cyano@Au@Ir significantly reduces neovascular progression and vascular leakage. This novel treatment mode fundamentally degrades blood glucose, continuously supplies O2, and scavenges free radicals for comprehensive microenvironment regulation, providing inspirations for solving fundus complications of DR. We numerically investigate and develop analytic models for both the DC and pulsed spin–orbit-torque (SOT)-driven response of order parameter in single-domain Mn3Sn, which is a metallic antiferromagnet with an anti-chiral 120° spin structure. We show that DC currents above a critical threshold can excite oscillatory dynamics of the order parameter in the gigahertz to terahertz frequency spectrum. Detailed models of the oscillation frequency vs input current are developed and found to be in excellent agreement with the numerical simulations of the dynamics. In the case of pulsed excitation, the magnetization can be switched from one stable state to any of the other five stable states in the Kagome plane by tuning the duration or the amplitude of the current pulse. Precise functional forms of the final switched state vs the input current are derived, offering crucial insights into the switching dynamics of Mn3Sn. The readout of the magnetic state can be carried out via either the anomalous Hall effect or the recently demonstrated tunneling magnetoresistance in an all-Mn3Sn junction. We also discuss possible disturbance of the magnetic order due to heating that may occur if the sample is subject to large currents. Operating the device in a pulsed mode or using low DC currents reduces the peak temperature rise in the sample due to Joule heating. Our predictive modeling and simulation results can be used by both theorists and experimentalists to explore the interplay of SOT and the order dynamics in Mn3Sn and to further benchmark the device performance. Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare malignant growth characterized by the production of mucin and the potential for peritoneal relapse. This study aimed to investigate the immunohistochemical and biological characteristics of mucin in patients with cellular and acellular PMP. We prospectively analyzed mucin specimens obtained from our patient cohort and described the composition and type of mucin present in each sample. A metagenomic analysis of the samples was performed to investigate the bacterial composition of the PMP microbiome. Secreted mucins 2 and 5AC and membrane-associated mucin-1 were the primary components of mucin in both cellular and acellular tumor specimens. The metagenomic study revealed a predominance of the phylum Proteobacteria and the genus Pseudomonas. Notably, Pseudomonas plecoglossicida, a species not previously reported in the human microbiome, was found to be the most abundant organism in the mucin of pseudomyxoma peritonei. Our findings suggest that the presence of MUC-2 and mucin colonization by Pseudomonas are characteristic features of both cellular and acellular disease. Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) have shown poor effectiveness in treating peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) of gastric origin with a high tumor burden (high peritoneal cancer index), though there are scarce therapy alternatives that are able to improve survival. In experimental studies, chimeric antigen receptor-T (CAR-T) cell therapy has shown encouraging results in gastric cancer and is currently being evaluated in several clinical trials. Regarding PC, CAR-T cell therapy has also proven useful in experimental studies, especially when administered intraperitoneally, as this route improves cell distribution and lifespan. Although these results need to be supported by ongoing clinical trials, CAR-T cells are a promising new therapeutic approach to peritoneal metastases from gastric cancer. Background and Objectives: Intraperitoneal chemotherapy can be administered as a single dose associated with hyperthermia (HIPEC) or in successive doses under normothermic conditions, such as early postoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy (EPIC) or normothermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (NIPEC or NIPEC-LT). Repetitive administration of intraperitoneal chemotherapy over a prolonged period may be associated with catheter-related complications, which are the primary cause of treatment interruption. This study aims to introduce and evaluate an innovative catheter system designed to mitigate these issues., Methods: Using a porcine experimental model, we tested a new catheter for long-term intraperitoneal access. Sixteen animals underwent catheter implantation followed by normothermic recirculation of peritoneal dialysis solution. Catheter functionality and any complications were monitored throughout successive treatment cycles., Results: The new catheter system demonstrated optimal recirculation and maintained its functionality throughout successive treatments, without complications. Catheter replacement with a guidewire was successful, ensuring continued efficacy., Conclusions: The innovative catheter system shows promise in reducing complications and improving compliance in successive intraperitoneal chemotherapy doses, justifying further clinical trials to confirm its efficacy in patients., (© 2024 The Author(s).
