Abstract

In this short note, we revisit the entanglement wedge representation of AdS$_3$ bulk fields in terms of CFT operator product expansion (OPE) blocks for a general class of blocks. Given a boundary interval and its associated causal diamond, the OPEs involve boundary operators with or without spin, and located either at spacelike or timelike edges of the diamond. Only for a subset of these cases, can the OPE block be dual to a geodesic bulk field. We show that when applied to de Sitter, a suitable combination of Euclidean OPE blocks can represent a dS scalar integrated over the timelike extremal surfaces, which play an important role in defining pseudo-entropy. 23. Effects of the multiscale porosity of decellularized platelet-rich fibrin-loaded zinc-doped magnesium phosphate scaffolds in bone regeneration.

Abstract

In recent years, metallic ion-doped magnesium phosphate (MgP)-based degradable bioceramics have emerged as alternative bone substitute materials owing to their excellent biocompatibility, bone-forming ability, bioactivity, and controlled degradability. Conversely, incorporating a biomolecule such as decellularized platelet-rich fibrin (d-PRF) on scaffolds has certain advantages for bone tissue regeneration, particularly in enhanced osteogenesis and angiogenesis. The present study focuses on the impact of d-PRF-loaded multiscale porous zinc-doped magnesium phosphate (Zn-MgP) scaffolds on biodegradability, biocompatibility, and bone regeneration. Scaffolds were fabricated through the powder-metallurgy route utilizing naphthalene as a porogen (porosity = 5–43%). With the inclusion of a higher porogen, a higher fraction of macro-porosity (>20 μm) and pore interconnectivity were observed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies confirmed the formation of the farringtonite phase. The developed scaffolds exhibited a minimum ultimate compressive strength (UCS) of 8.5 MPa (for 40 Naph), which lies within the range of UCS of the cancellous bone of humans (2–12 MPa). The in vitro assessment via immersion in physiological fluid yielded a higher deposition of the calcium phosphate (CaP) compound in response to increased macro-porosity and interconnectivity (40 Naph). Cytocompatibility assessed using MC3T3-E1 cells showed that the incorporation of d-PRF coupled with increased porosity resulted the highest cell attachment, proliferation, and viability. For further evaluation, the developed scaffolds were implanted in in vivo rabbit femur condylar defects. Radiography, SEM, OTC labelling, and histology analysis after 2 months of implantation revealed the better invasion of mature osteoblastic cells into the scaffolds with enhanced angiogenesis and superior and accelerated healing of bone defects in d-PRF-incorporated higher porosity scaffolds (40 Naph). Finally, it is hypothesized that the combination of d-PRF incorporation with multiscale porosity and increased interconnectivity facilitated better bone-forming ability, good biocompatibility, and controlled degradability within and around the Zn-doped MgP scaffolds. Abstract

The current paper presents an original approach into the microgrid control framework by incorporating LSTM-based optimization with specific emphasis on refining the gain parameters of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller. This integration represents a significant advancement in improving the overall efficiency of microgrid control systems. By creatively applying LSTM optimization, the paper achieves dynamic adjustments of the PID controller's parameters, resulting in more precise regulation of output power quality. Through the utilization of the Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) in conjunction with LSTM-based optimization, the paper establishes a compelling link between improved power quality and the resultant tariff rates. Abstract

The subject work presents a transient analysis of natural gas (methane) storage in a reactor with Maxsorb III activated carbon. The reactor is modified by providing the external cooling jacket at the outer wall of the storage tank with circular fins protruding towards the center of the tank. Furthermore, the performance of the reactor is investigated for various nanofluids acting as heat transfer fluids (HTFs). Water and various grades of oils have been used extensively as the coolant to counter the exothermic nature of the charging process. In the present investigation, simulations are carried out on Al2O3/water (H2O), CuO/water (H2O), and MgO/water (H2O) nanofluids with different volume fractions of nanoparticles. The results are compared with the water case. The result shows that the CuO/H2O nanofluids with 5 vol% performed better. Hence further comparisons have been performed between CuO/H2O nanofluids with 5 vol% and water for different gas inlet pressure and coolant inlet temperatures. It is observed that the CuO/H2O nanofluid with 5 vol% reduces the adsorption time for 90% adsorption by 3.3 % and 5.1 % for high supply pressure and low cooling fluid temperatures, respectively. 50. Thermodynamic Analysis of a Compression-Driven Adsorption-Based Cooling System Using CO2as the Refrigerant

Abstract

The subject work includes a thermodynamic analysis and performance assessment of a compression-driven adsorption-based cooling system (CDACs) utilizing carbon dioxide as a refrigerant and Maxsorb-III as the adsorbent. The simple equilibrium analysis assumes a pressure swing isothermal adsorption/desorption process powered by a reciprocating compressor with varying pressure ratios. The influence of ambient and room temperatures on COP, second law efficiency, cooling effect, compression work, and parasitic losses are explored. All these parameters except the parasitic loss decrease with an increase in the surrounding temperature. For the given range of operating temperatures (308 K ≤ Tsurr≤ 318 K and 281 K ≤ Troom≤ 285 K) and maximum and minimum pressure (Pmax= 3.1 MPa, Pmin= 0.5 MPa), the COP varies from 0.47 to 4.78. The compression work is maximum for a high room temperature and low surrounding temperature. The CDACs system yields comparable COP to transcritical vapor compression refrigeration systems (VCRs) but at lower operating pressure for the same surrounding and room conditions. Moreover, for higher ambient temperatures, CDACs are preferable compared to the VCRs. Four different activated carbons prepared from various precursor materials are considered as the adsorbent for comparative analysis. The activated carbon, WPT-AC (C-500), yields a maximum COP of 5.1 and a specific cooling effect of 186.5 kJ kg−1.
