Abstract

The symmetry approach to the classification of evolution integrable partial differential equations (see, for example~\cite{MikShaSok91}) produces an infinite series of functions, defined in terms of the right hand side, that are conserved densities of any equation having infinitely many infinitesimal symmetries. For instance, the function $\frac{\partial f}{\partial u_{x}}$ has to be a conserved density of any integrable equation of the~KdV type~$u_t=u_{xxx}+f(u,u_x)$. This fact imposes very strong conditions on the form of the function~$f$. In this paper we construct similar canonical densities for equations of the Boussinesq type. In order to do that, we write the equations as evolution systems and generalise the formal diagonalisation procedure proposed in \cite{MSY} to these systems.

6. On Symmetrizers in Quantum Matrix Algebras

Abstract

In this note we are dealing with a particular class of quadratic algebras -- the so-called quantum matrix algebras. The well-known examples are the algebras of quantized functions on classical Lie groups (the RTT algebras). We consider the problem of constructing some projectors on homogenous components of such algebras, which are analogs of the usual symmetrizers. The main objective of this note is to present a method, which hopefully enables one to construct symmetrizers on all homogenous components of the RTT algebras. We illustrate the construction by two low-dimensional examples. A way of extending this method onto other quantum matrix algebras is also discussed.

As data rates for multi-gigabit serial interfaces within multi-node compute systems approach and exceed 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps), board-to-board and chip-to-chip optical signaling solutions become more attractive, particularly for longer (e.g. 50-100 cm) links. The transition to optical signaling will potentially allow new high performance compute (HPC) system architectures that benefit from characteristics unique to optical links. To examine these characteristics, we built and tested several optical demonstration vehicles; one based on dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM), and others based on multiple point-to-point links carried across multimode fibers. All test vehicles were constructed to evaluate applicability to a multi-node compute system. All Hamiltonian non-abelian Painlev\'e systems of ${\rm{P}}_{1}-{\rm{P}}_{6}$ type with constant coefficients are found. For ${\rm{P}}_{1}-{\rm{P}}_{5}$ systems, we replace an appropriate inessential constant parameter with a non-abelian constant. Abstract

We study non-abelian systems of Painlev\'e type. To derive them, we introduce an auxiliary autonomous system with the frozen independent variable and postulate its integrability in the sense of the existence of a non-abelian first integral that generalizes the Okamoto Hamiltonian. All non-abelian P6-P2-systems with such integrals are found. A coalescence limiting scheme is constructed for these non-abelian Painlev\'e systems. This allows us to construct an isomonodromic Lax pair for each of them.

12. Mass Distribution and 'Mass Gap' of Compact Stellar Remnants in Binary Systems

Abstract

The highest critical mass of neutron stars (NSs) was reviewed in the context of equation of state and observationsl results/ It was predicted that the maximum NS mass (MNS) exists in the range MNS ~ 2.2-2.9 M_Sun. However, recent observations of gravitationsl waves and other studies had suggested the higher mass limit of NSs, MNS ~ 3/2 M_Sun. The NS mass up to the value of MNS ~ 2 M_Sun is well understood, and with such a mass value it was meaning ful to discuss the "mass gap" ("m-gap") between the NS and black hole (BH) collapsars.The "m-gap" exists in between the highest mass of NS and the lowest mass of BH collapsars (Mm-gap ~ 2-5 M_Sun). in the mass distribution, the maximim population of NSs and BHs is located at MNS = 1.4 M_Sun and MBH = 6.7 M_Sun, respectively. However, recent ofservational results predicted filling the "m-gap" by the compact objects. In this paper, the concept of gravidynamics was reported to resolve the problem of peak likelihood value of gravitational mass at Mpeak = 6.7 M_Sun and the "m-gap" (Mm-gap ~ 2-5 M_Sun). This concept was based on a non-metric scalar-tensor model of gravitational interaction with localizable field energy. The gravidynamics model shows the total mass (MQ) of a compact relativistic object filled with matter of quark-gluon plasma of the radius r* = GMQ/c2 ~ 10 km, consistent with the "m-gap". It was conceptualized that the total measurable gravitational mass of such an extremely dense object consists of both matter and field, which is described by scalar-tensor components. Abstract

The automated design issues of modular spindle heads for multi-operational metalcutting machines are considered. An option for expanding technological capabilities through the use of forming units with vertical and horizontal arrangement in the space of the machine working area is given. A 3D project for the drive of the machine's main movement with a built-in horizontal spindle head and replaceable vertical and slotting spindle heads has been developed. In the process of modelling complex drive housing parts and replaceable heads, Creo Parametric CAD functionality was developed. These functionalities with the procedure for interconnecting the three-dimensional design model and the manufactured casting mold are associated. The implementation of this procedure using the example of creating a structural element - a "Casting draft angle" in the housing part manufacturing of a slotting head is presented. The "Mechanism Design" module of the Creo Parametric CAD system models the rack-and-pinion transmission as the translationally moving link intended for processing grooves, blind-shaped surfaces, and internal cavities is used. Ways to improve the design of the rack-and-pinion gear are outlined. The main innovative idea of the rack tooth profile in the form of an arched shape is presentation. Primary analytical dependencies for a complex geometric-kinematic analysis of a rack-and-pinion transmission with arched teeth were obtained. The relationship between transmission parameters and the maximum size of the gear-cutting head has been established. A condition to guarantee the absence of secondary cutting using a gear-cutting head has been introduced. The value of the coefficient KL = 1.13 as an indicator of a decrease in bending stress and, as a consequence, an increase in the load capacity of arched teeth in comparison with straight rack and pinion teeth, all other things being equal is determined. 24. Improvement of HVAC systems based on adaptive predictive control

Abstract

The paper considers the issue of approbation of adaptive predictive control for heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, shows the possibility of improving the regulation processes by its application on example of ventilation system. The idea of control using predictive model is presented, the principles of control using MPC controller are noted, the controller structure and the criterion for choosing the optimal values of control signal are considered. The feature of adaptive predictive control is the presence of the mathematical model for control object, which accurately describes its behavior. The MPC controller determines the sequence of control signal values that provides the best predicted trajectory for controlled variable. The implementation of the MPC approach is shown on the example of supply VAV ventilation system of the classroom. In the considered ventilation system, the change of heat load for the room is compensated by the change of amount of supply air coming from the central supply ventilation unit at its constant temperature. To simulate ventilation system in the Simulink environment of the MATLAB application package, the block diagram was developed, and the Model Predictive Control Toolbox was used to synthesize the MPC controller. The study of transient processes in VAV ventilation system was carried out, transient process in the system without controller, with PID controller and MPC controller were compared. Comparison of the results showed that the use of the MPC controller makes it possible to improve the regulation process of thermal regime in the room by increasing the regulation quality.

Abstract

This paper is devoted to obtaining a solution to the problem of parametric vibrations and dynamic stability of thin-walled underground oil pipelines, taking into account the effect of a damper. An equation has been obtained that allows estimating the dynamic stability of underground oil pipelines, which consists in constructing regions on the plane of the parameters ωmn, ω0 and the longitudinal force parameter P, as well as the internal pressure p0, where ωmn is the frequency of free vibrations, ω0 is the excitation frequency. The assessment of the dynamic stability of the oil pipeline section is made for the known values of ωmn, ω0, p0, P, k by finding a point. If the point does not fall into the outlined area, it means that dynamic stability is ensured, otherwise there is a danger of parametric resonance.

Abstract

In higher eukaryotes, distance enhancer-promoter interactions are organized by topologically associated domains, tethering elements, and chromatin insulators/boundaries. While insulators/boundaries play a central role in chromosome organization, the mechanisms regulating their functions are largely unknown. In the studies reported here, we have taken advantage of the well-characterized Drosophila bithorax complex (BX-C) to study one potential mechanism for controlling boundary function. The regulatory domains of BX-C are flanked by boundaries, which block crosstalk with their neighboring domains and also support long-distance interactions between the regulatory domains and their target gene. As many lncRNAs have been found in BX-C, we asked whether readthrough transcription (RT) can impact boundary function. For this purpose, we took advantage of two BX-C boundary replacement platforms, Fab-7attP50 and F2attP, in which the Fab-7 and Fub boundaries, respectively, are deleted and replaced with an attP site. We introduced boundary elements, promoters, and polyadenylation signals arranged in different combinations and then assayed for boundary function. Our results show that RT can interfere with boundary activity. Since lncRNAs represent a significant fraction of Pol II transcripts in multicellular eukaryotes, it is therefore possible that RT may be a widely used mechanism to alter boundary function and regulation of gene expression. Abstract

Year-round observations of the physical snow and ice properties and processes that govern the ice pack evolution and its interaction with the atmosphere and the ocean were conducted during the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC) expedition of the research vessel Polarstern in the Arctic Ocean from October 2019 to September 2020. This work was embedded into the interdisciplinary design of the 5 MOSAiC teams, studying the atmosphere, the sea ice, the ocean, the ecosystem, and biogeochemical processes. The overall aim of the snow and sea ice observations during MOSAiC was to characterize the physical properties of the snow and ice cover comprehensively in the central Arctic over an entire annual cycle. This objective was achieved by detailed observations of physical properties and of energy and mass balance of snow and ice. By studying snow and sea ice dynamics over nested spatial scales from centimeters to tens of kilometers, the variability across scales can be considered. On-ice observations of in situ and remote sensing properties of the different surface types over all seasons will help to improve numerical process and climate models and to establish and validate novel satellite remote sensing methods; the linkages to accompanying airborne measurements, satellite observations, and results of numerical models are discussed. We found large spatial variabilities of snow metamorphism and thermal regimes impacting sea ice growth. We conclude that the highly variable snow cover needs to be considered in more detail (in observations, remote sensing, and models) to better understand snow-related feedback processes. The ice pack revealed rapid transformations and motions along the drift in all seasons. The number of coupled ice–ocean interface processes observed in detail are expected to guide upcoming research with respect to the changing Arctic sea ice.

Abstract

- The design of the main movement drive for a multioperational machine such as a machining center with a modified design of a gear gearbox is considered. A 3D modelling of the machining center drive mechanism with a portal layout was performed in the integrated computeraided design system KOMPAS-3D. Functional extended range of the C3D Modeler geometric kernel when constructing complex geometry of machine housing parts is proposed to use. The procedure for constructing gear rims with high accuracy and geometrically correct tooth surfaces in the CAD environment was applied. At the stage of forming the shape of the tooth of a multivariate choice of the tooth axial shape, it is possible to implement. A new idea to increase the efficiency of the cylindrical gear transmission of the machine speed box based on the modified tooth profile of the gears with inclined-arched teeth is put forward. An analytical apparatus for calculating the design and choosing the radius of the gear-shaping cutting head with known basic transmission parameters have been formed. A comparative analysis for the calculated values of the axial overlap coefficient in an involute helical spur gear and in a spur gear with inclined-arched teeth is carried out with the same engagement parameters, other conditions being equal. Numerical calculations for the modified version of the engagement with inclined-arched teeth compared with the involute helical gear in terms of load capacity have been shown. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
