2. Academic Library Implementation of Web 3.0: A Comparative Analysis.

The implementation of Web 3.0 technologies in academic libraries exemplifies a crucial advancement in enhancing services, resources, facilities, and librarians' skills, with a comparative analysis of Regions 11 and 12 revealing key insights into varying strategies and outcomes. This study aimed to determine and compare the extent and category of implementation of Web 3.0 among academic libraries in Regions 11 and 12. The study employs descriptive comparative research design and utilized research-made questionnaire administered to 70 respondents who were academic librarians in Regions 11 and 12, using purposive sampling, employing mean. The finding of the study revealed that over-all extent of implementation in terms of library services, resources; facilities and librarian skills was assessed as substantially implemented. The comparative analysis between the extent and category of implementation among academic libraries in Regions 11 and 12 revealed not significant, thus fails to reject null hypothesis. The study concluded that the both regions show similar extent and category of implementation in their academic libraries, which indicates a comparable adoption of Web 3.0 technologies and practices. The study recommends for the academic libraries in Regions 11 and 12 to continuously improve the library facilities, adapt and practice the Web 3.0 in their libraries, and to enhance and develop the skills of the academic librarians by providing adequate trainings and continuing professional development related to Web 3.0. Healthcare 4.0 is considered the most promising technology for gathering data from humans and strongly couples with a communication system for precise clinical and diagnosis performance. Though sensor-driven devices have largely made our everyday lives easier, these technologies have been suffering from various security challenges. Because of data breaches and privacy issues, this heightens the demand for a comprehensive healthcare solution. Since most healthcare data are sensitive and valuable and transferred mostly via the Internet, the safety and confidentiality of patient data remain an important concern. To face the security challenges in Healthcare 4.0, Web 3.0 and blockchain technology have been increasingly deployed to resolve the security breaches due to their immutability and decentralized properties. In this research article, a Web 3.0 ensemble hybrid chaotic blockchain framework is proposed for effective and secure authentication in the Healthcare 4.0 industry. The proposed framework uses the Infura Web API, Web 3.0, hybrid chaotic keys, Ganache interfaces, and MongoDB. To allow for more secure authentication, an ensemble of scroll and Henon maps is deployed to formulate the high dynamic hashes during the formation of genesis blocks, and all of the data are backed in the proposed model. The complete framework was tested in Ethereum blockchain using Web 3.0, in which Python 3.19 is used as the major programming tool for developing the different interfaces. Formal analysis is carried out with Burrows–Abadi–Needham Logic (BAN) to assess the cybersecurity reliability of the suggested framework, and NIST standard tests are used for a thorough review. Furthermore, the robustness of the proposed blockchain is also measured and compared with the other secured blockchain frameworks. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model exhibited more defensive characteristics against multiple attacks and outperformed the other models in terms of complexity and robustness. Finally, the paper gives a panoramic view of integrating Web 3.0 with the blockchain and the inevitable directions of a secured authentication framework for Healthcare 4.0. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The metaverse, which is considered to be the next evolutionary stage of the Internet, has captured the attention of both academia and industry. Its primary goal is to establish a shared 3D virtual space that interconnects all virtual worlds through the Internet. In this shared space, users are represented as digital avatars, enabling them to communicate, interact with each other, and engage with the virtual environment as if they were in the physical world. However, realizing the full potential of the metaverse poses significant challenges, such as the requirement for higher throughput compared to current social VR platforms and the need to minimize latency to just a few milliseconds to uphold a truly immersive user experience. Caching is a critical aspect of optimizing data access on the current Internet, and it is equally crucial for addressing similar challenges in Web 3.0 and the metaverse. This paper explores different caching strategies suggested to address these challenges on the current Internet and assesses their potential relevance to the metaverse. Caching strategies are categorized into three groups: web caching, mobile caching, and Internet of Things (IoT) caching. Recent solutions are then examined to determine their relevance to the metaverse. Finally, the paper discusses open research challenges and potential future research directions in this domain. Digital transformation, including the effects of big data, predictive analytics, AI and platform technologies, are now well known to most OD practitioners and leaders in higher education. Yet, at the same time, we see limited work on how OD practitioners and leaders in the higher education space can better prepare their institutions for what is called the Web 3.0 economy, which broadly represents a newer mentality beyond just digital technologies such as AI toward a newer era of knowledge management, creation, and disruption done in independent learning communities. In this newer era of change and disruption, how might OD practitioners and leaders in higher education better brace for the Web 3.0 economy? What change models or frameworks should they consider? In this conceptual paper, we layout how the older top-down approach to change remains inadequate. Instead, we advocate how revisiting the Cynefin framework with triple-loop learning along with a sample ecological and evolutionary model of change (i.e., Theory U) can better prepare higher education OD practitioners and leaders in this regard. As part of our contributions, we provide an overlay model of these two frameworks with a sample auditing process that OD practitioners and leaders in higher education can use to better harvest and capture the forthcoming changes of Web 3.0. By enabling a shift from user-generated content to community-generated content in architecture, this new approach promotes democratic design processes. Practical illustrations are provided through a series of public case studies—H = N Co-Doodle, H = N BLOCK, and Meta Block Linz—highlighting the versatility of the Collaborative Objects framework embedded within expanded software applications. These studies address the formal and informal consequences, opportunities, and challenges of transforming static design elements into dynamic, community driven narratives. Abstract This study proposes the integration of specific social media analytics (SMA) metrics into existing U.S. wildfire management systems to enhance their ability to accurately predict, monitor, and respond to wildfires in a timely manner. In addition, the examination of SMA's influence on shaping wildfire-related policies is addressed in our analysis with respect to the mitigation of the extent and effects of such disasters. Furthermore, the potential of Web 3.0 technologies in achieving these objectives is analyzed as part of this work. Decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN) were an indispensable cornerstone for the upcoming digital society, transforming traditional infrastructure reliant on centralized control and management into a new type of infrastructure network driven by communities and autonomous governance. The deep integration of blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies played a key role in enabling this transformation. To this end, this paper first emphasized the organic combination of "AI for blockchain (AI4B)" and "blockchain for AI (B4AI)", forming a synergistic, bidirectional closed-loop circuit to construct the truly intelligent blockchains, thereby realizing a new paradigm of blockchain intelligence. Secondly, it proposed a novel technological architecture for intelligent blockchains: on one hand, embedding intelligence into every layer of traditional blockchain architecture to cultivate the blockchain intelligence ecosystem ranging from foundational intelligence to infrastructure intelligence and then to application intelligence; on the other hand, corresponding to the actual intelligent blockchain construction, artificial intelligent blockchain were built, and through their virtual-real feedback and parallel execution, the blockchain intelligence ecosystem evolved from static rule orientation to dynamic adaptive evolution. Then, it analyzed the core intelligent attributes of blockchain intelligence from the perspectives of intelligent contracts, decentralized identity, knowledge management, and autonomous governance. Lastly, it outlined the typical application scenarios of blockchain intelligence and the key challenges faced. This paper aims to actively promote the research and development of intelligent blockchains and blockchain intelligence technologies, laying the foundation for building the core infrastructure of the future digital age.

The paper studies the concept of «virtual real estate», the market of which is developing against the backdrop of the emergence of metaverses. The current trend in the development of the Internet involves the merging of gaming and social life, which forms a huge, rapidly growing economy of consumption of virtual goods. The main factor in adjusting the trend of digital development is the evolution of the interaction between the Internet and users, therefore, the article initially considered the features and distinctive features of web 1.0, web 2.0, web 3.0. The technical solutions that distinguish web 3.0 are shown, contributing to the expansion of opportunities for involving consumers in the virtual world and the formation of their own virtual economy. Further, the concept of «metaverse» is investigated, key characteristics are highlighted. It has been established that the metaverse is a hybrid of the virtual and physical worlds, creating a space for communication, life and work. The metaverse market is growing, which makes it attractive to investors, one of the ways to invest for which is to purchase virtual land and real estate. Virtual real estate cannot be touched, but it has value, increases in price, which makes it an attractive investment. The purchase of virtual real estate is carried out for real money. Virtual real estate is a piece of land in a virtual space on which it is possible to build objects and participate in the game. The article is an opportunity to understand what virtual real estate is – another global scam or an attractive investment.

去中心化物理基础设施网络是未来数字社会不可或缺的基石,它将传统依赖于集中式控制和管理的物理设施转变为由社区驱动且自主治理的新型基础设施网络,而区块链与人工智能(artificial intelligence,AI)技术的深度融合在其中起到了关键的赋能作用。为此,首先强调有机结合“AI赋能区块链”与“区块链赋能AI”,形成协同增效的双向闭环回路,以构建真正意义上的智能区块链,从而实现区块链智能新范式。其次,提出智能区块链的新型技术架构:一方面,将智能性内嵌至传统区块链架构的每一层,以培育从基础智能到基础设施智能再到应用智能的区块链智能生态;另一方面,为实际智能区块链构建与之对应的人工的智能区块链,并通过二者的虚实反馈与平行执行,形成从静态规则导向到动态适应演进的区块链智能生态。然后,从智慧合约、去中心化身份、知识管理、自主治理等角度辨析区块链智能的核心智能属性。最后,概述区块链智能的典型应用场景及面临的关键挑战。积极推进智能区块链与区块链智能技术的研究与发展,有助于构筑未来数字时代的核心基础设施。

The emergence of Web 3.0, blockchain technology (BC), and artificial intelligence (AI) are transforming multiplayer online gaming in the metaverse. This development has its concerns about safety and inclusivity. Hate speech, in particular, poses a significant threat to the harmony of these online communities. Traditional moderation methods struggle to cope with the immense volume of user‐generated content, necessitating innovative solutions. This article proposes a novel framework, MetaHate, that employs AI and BC to detect and combat hate speech in online gaming environments within the metaverse. Various machine learning (ML) models are applied to analyze Hindi–English code mixed datasets, with gradient boosting proving the most effective, achieving 86.01% accuracy. AI algorithms are instrumental in identifying harmful language patterns, while BC technology ensures transparency and user accountability. Moreover, a BC‐based smart contract is proposed to support the moderation of hate speech in the game chat. Integrating AI and BC can significantly enhance the safety and inclusivity of the metaverse, underscoring the importance of these technologies in the ongoing battle against hate speech and in bolstering user engagement. What is a system? How does the system benefit its participants? How do their actions help the system thrive? Throughout humanity, we have searched for newer and more efficient ways of improving our current systems by adopting new methods. Although the methods of approach change, the behaviour of the participants ultimately shapes the effectiveness of the system. In navigating our art world, understanding the systems of operation is crucial to the decision-making process. This behaviour allows for former systems to have new life through educated forms of physical code (humans) that regenerate those ideals into actions that ultimately reshape the new system into something familiar. Corruption and lack of transparency remain critical challenges in governance systems around the world. These issues are often perpetuated by centralized systems and their manipulation by system administrators. Furthermore, the lack of data ownership and the monetization of user data by tech companies further increase concerns about transparency. In light of these concerns, this study aims to review existing blockchain-based governance models and identify best-practice governance models focusing on corruption transparency, their characteristics, and components. The research will also examine the role of a token economy in addressing trusted third-party issues related to asset ownership management. Furthermore, we discuss the effect of smart contracts, blockchain, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), Web 3.0, and multifactor challenge set self-sovereign identity authentication (MFSSIA) as modern technologies to combat corruption and achieve transparency in the public sector. To achieve this, we conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) comprising peer-reviewed journals, proceedings, and book chapters published between 2012 and 2023. Using the SLR methodology, 45 primary and supporting studies have been selected for result extraction and analysis. Finally, we discovered seven blockchain-based governance models with their characteristics and primary components.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to design a conceptual model for the application of semantic-social technology in digital libraries in Iran. Methodology: This applied research was conducted using Delphi and analytical survey methods. The tool used was a researcher-made questionnaire, which included three parts: the structure of semantic-social technology architecture, semantic-social technology tools, and the function of semantic-social technology. Descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling and partial least squares modeling (PLS-SEM) were used to analyze the statistical data. Findings: In the final research model, most items had a high factor loading and in the main components of the research, including the architecture structure of semantic-social technology, tools of semantic-social technology and the function of semantic-social technology, important items from the perspective of the research community were identified. Accordingly, in the architectural structure of semantic-social technology, the use of RDF schema to describe and describe RDF-based resources, the use of SIOC technology to link blogs, forums and mailing lists had the highest factor loading. Also, in the part of semantic-social technology tools, in the final conceptual model research, video mashups and map mashups had a higher factor loading than others. In the functional part of semantic-social technology, using the URL standard to identify and locate a resource in digital libraries and retrieval function, using RDF tools and using Sub and Super techniques between concepts to retrieve information faster has the highest factor loading. Moreover, in the parts of data and resources and content, the use of RDF tools to exploit multimedia and non-textual resources due to the diversity of available information and in the function of organization and storage, the use of ontology to manage digital resources had higher factor loading. In addition, in the interaction function, the items of communication between the chain of information producers, collectors and users through social semantic web tools had the highest amount of factor loading. Concusion: Considering the results obtained in the proposed model of this research and the items that have gained a high factor loading in the proposed conceptual model, shows that in semantic-social technology in digital library software, what makes this technology progress and success is the correct creation of digital library software. The basis of digital library standards, attention to the XML markup language, Dublin Core, etc. and its integration with semantic tools such as Web 2.0, hashtags and folksonomy, metadata, etc. in line with social technologies such as social networks, mashups, etc.

IoT edge computing is a network design model that captures and processes data at the network edge. The results are forwarded to a cloud service or, if additional processing is needed, a middle tier. By processing data at the edge and middle tier, edge networks achieve better load-balancing and improve performance; however, traditional edge network deployments represent a rigid participation model. Edge networks require physical access to an IoT device and often lock the device to a single edge network. These constraints make it difficult to construct the ideal network, as they reject IoT devices deployed at the network edge but not owned by the network administrator. Our goal is to remove these limitations by creating a network protocol that supports broader participation of IoT devices, cryptographically secures network data, and improves network performance by increasing captured data at the network edge. The protocol is named Snap to symbolize the ease of self assembly. Our experimental research focuses on temperature stability and the cycle efficiency of an HVAC system by utilizing a Snap network to combine two existing edge networks and increase the number of temperature measurement points. The additional measurement points improved the efficiency of the HVAC cycle strategy by increasing the square footage of measured building space. The additional temperature capture points supported an adjustment to the HVAC cycle strategy which resulted in reducing the disparity between the requested and resulting temperatures. Snap networks support a broader range of IoT sensors leading to increased measurement density, sample rate frequency, and coverage of the network edge.

The paper aims to cover the main contributors to the development of Web 3.0 and to explore their different views on the evolution of the World Wide Web by creating a comprising image on the key theories, models, and frameworks in the evolution of Web 3.0. We used a qualitative research method, more precisely we conducted a literature review to identify the main characteristics of Web 3.0. Based on the selected papers we revealed the evolution of Web 3.0 by investigating a large variety of dimensions. Findings unfold to reveal the chronological publication of studies, main journals, and research methodology used in studies, along with future research directions. Furthermore, we performed an in-depth analysis to of the selected paper to discover a taxonomy of studies by key theories, models, and frameworks, features, technologies, main theories on the evolution of Web 3.0. As this is still a nascent topic, future research directions must focus on both qualitative and quantitative studies covering a wide spectrum of Web 3.0 stakeholders. The originality of the research derives not only from stating the evolution of Web 3.0 but also from the comparison between Web 1.0, Web 2.0, Web 3.0, and Web 4.0 we performed in order to hint towards the promise of the future in terms of opportunities and strengths.

Healthcare 4.0 is considered the most promising technology for gathering data from humans and strongly couples with a communication system for precise clinical and diagnosis performance. Though sensor-driven devices have largely made our everyday lives easier, these technologies have been suffering from various security challenges. Because of data breaches and privacy issues, this heightens the demand for a comprehensive healthcare solution. Since most healthcare data are sensitive and valuable and transferred mostly via the Internet, the safety and confidentiality of patient data remain an important concern. To face the security challenges in Healthcare 4.0, Web 3.0 and blockchain technology have been increasingly deployed to resolve the security breaches due to their immutability and decentralized properties. In this research article, a Web 3.0 ensemble hybrid chaotic blockchain framework is proposed for effective and secure authentication in the Healthcare 4.0 industry. The proposed framework uses the Infura Web API, Web 3.0, hybrid chaotic keys, Ganache interfaces, and MongoDB. To allow for more secure authentication, an ensemble of scroll and Henon maps is deployed to formulate the high dynamic hashes during the formation of genesis blocks, and all of the data are backed in the proposed model. The complete framework was tested in Ethereum blockchain using Web 3.0, in which Python 3.19 is used as the major programming tool for developing the different interfaces. Formal analysis is carried out with Burrows–Abadi–Needham Logic (BAN) to assess the cybersecurity reliability of the suggested framework, and NIST standard tests are used for a thorough review. Furthermore, the robustness of the proposed blockchain is also measured and compared with the other secured blockchain frameworks. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model exhibited more defensive characteristics against multiple attacks and outperformed the other models in terms of complexity and robustness. Finally, the paper gives a panoramic view of integrating Web 3.0 with the blockchain and the inevitable directions of a secured authentication framework for Healthcare 4.0.

Limited research has addressed the potential of Web 3.0 to facilitate the green supply chain and support sustainable development goals. Although some studies have suggested the efficiency of Web 3.0 in promoting a green supply chain, lack empirical evidence explaining how this efficiency is generated remains scarce. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate this matter. By drawing upon relevant literature and leveraging the natural resource‐based view, a conceptual model is constructed and validated using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS‐SEM). The analysis reveals that Web 3.0 can foster the formation of consensual thinking through its decentralized mechanism. This, in turn, enables firms to generate perceived value based on the efficiency of consensual thinking, leading to an increased intention to build mutual trust and facilitate green knowledge sharing among firms. Furthermore, the controllability provided by a permissioned mechanism enhances information security, guiding mutual trust among firms to evolve into trustless cooperation. As a result, firms exhibit full trust in each other, facilitating smoother green knowledge sharing. The influence of mutual trust and trustless cooperation in promoting green knowledge sharing contributes to the resilience of the supply chain and ultimately leads to superior green performance, contributing to environmentally sustainable development. In the functional part of semantic-social technology, using the URL standard to identify and locate a resource in digital libraries and retrieval function, using RDF tools and using Sub and Super techniques between concepts to retrieve information faster has the highest factor loading. Moreover, in the parts of data and resources and content, the use of RDF tools to exploit multimedia and non-textual resources due to the diversity of available information and in the function of organization and storage, the use of ontology to manage digital resources had higher factor loading. In addition, in the interaction function, the items of communication between the chain of information producers, collectors and users through social semantic web tools had the highest amount of factor loading. Concusion: Considering the results obtained in the proposed model of this research and the items that have gained a high factor loading in the proposed conceptual model, shows that in semanticsocial technology in digital library software, what makes this technology progress and success is the correct creation of digital library software. The basis of digital library standards, attention to the XML markup language, Dublin Core, etc. and its integration with semantic tools such as Web 2.0, hashtags and folksonomy, metadata, etc. in line with social technologies such as social networks, mashups, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
