Abstract

Objective To investigate the establishment process and practical effectiveness of nursing outpatient clinics in a certain grass-roots hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods A set of improvement measures were carried out including optimizing the layout of outpatient service, training visiting personnel, and simplifying the service items of visiting arrangement. Results The number of nursing outpatient services has increased year by year, the awareness of health care has been improved, and the proportion of non-drug treatment has increased. Conclusion Establishment of nursing outpatient clinics in the grass-roots hospital can meet the health needs of local population, cultivate nursing talents of Traditional Chinese Medicine, promote the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine nursing, and enhance the professional value of nurses. Abstract

Stable imaging in adverse environments (e.g., total darkness) makes thermal infrared (TIR) cameras a prevalent option for night scene perception. However, the low contrast and lack of chromaticity of TIR images are detrimental to human interpretation and subsequent deployment of RGB-based vision algorithms. Therefore, it makes sense to colorize the nighttime TIR images by translating them into the corresponding daytime color images (NTIR2DC). Despite the impressive progress made in the NTIR2DC task, how to improve the translation performance of small object classes is under-explored. To address this problem, we propose a generative adversarial network incorporating feedback-based object appearance learning (FoalGAN). Specifically, an occlusion-aware mixup module and corresponding appearance consistency loss are proposed to reduce the context dependence of object translation. As a representative example of small objects in nighttime street scenes, we illustrate how to enhance the realism of traffic light by designing a traffic light appearance loss. To further improve the appearance learning of small objects, we devise a dual feedback learning strategy to selectively adjust the learning frequency of different samples. In addition, we provide pixel-level annotation for a subset of the Brno dataset, which can facilitate the research of NTIR image understanding under multiple weather conditions. Extensive experiments illustrate that the proposed FoalGAN is not only effective for appearance learning of small objects, but also outperforms other image translation methods in terms of semantic preservation and edge consistency for the NTIR2DC task., Comment: 14 pages, 14 figures. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2208.02960

Abstract

Centrioles comprise the heart of centrosomes, microtubule-organizing centers. To study the function of centrioles in lung and gut development, we genetically disrupted centrioles throughout the mouse endoderm. Surprisingly, removing centrioles from the endoderm did not disrupt intestinal growth or development but blocked lung branching. In the lung, acentriolar SOX2-expressing airway epithelial cells apoptosed. Loss of centrioles activated p53, and removing p53 restored survival of SOX2-expressing cells, lung branching, and mouse viability. To investigate how endodermal p53 activation specifically killed acentriolar SOX2-expressing cells, we assessed ERK, a prosurvival cue. ERK was active throughout the intestine and in the distal lung buds, correlating with tolerance to centriole loss. Pharmacologically inhibiting ERK activated apoptosis in acentriolar cells, revealing that ERK activity protects acentriolar cells from apoptosis. Therefore, centrioles are largely dispensable for endodermal growth and the spatial distribution of ERK activity in the endoderm shapes the developmental consequences of centriolar defects and p53 activation.

43. Implementing Single‐Roller Hard Reduction Technology for High‐Speed Production of High‐Carbon Hard Wire Steel Billets.

Abstract

The production of high‐carbon hard wire steel at high speeds necessitates the use of appropriate technical support to ensure cost‐efficiency and optimal performance of the special steel casting machine. This study investigates the industrial application of single‐roller hard reduction technology in a domestic steel plant for the production of high‐carbon hard wire steel billets, specifically of section 165 × 165 mm. The produced billets meet all customer specifications and demonstrate the benefits of this approach, including lower comprehensive costs, suitability for modification, and advanced technical concepts. These features make this method compatible with a wide range of billet casting machines, from standard to specialized. In this research, discussion is done on the reduction process, the layout of withdrawal and straightening units (WSUs), and the optimal casting speed. It is concluded that bow‐type billet casting machines using rigid dummy bars can achieve single‐roller hard reduction by only three WSUs, offering lower comprehensive costs and suitability for modification. This approach is particularly beneficial for small billet casting machines undergoing an upgrade from general to high‐quality and ultimately to special steel. During the process of increasing the central density of the billet and improving central defects using single‐roller hard reduction technology, it is observed that defects in the central region gravitated toward the center. For billet casting machines with a bow radius of 10 m, considering process tolerance, the maximum casting speeds achievable with single‐roller hard reduction are 2.95–3.40 m min−1 for a section of 150 × 150 mm, 2.60–3.0 m min−1 for a section of 160 × 160 mm, and 2.45–2.80 m min−1 for a section of 165 × 165 mm. To achieve higher casting speeds for high‐carbon hard wire steel, it is necessary to modify the machine configuration to flexible dummy bars. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
