At present, it would be desirable to improve the C-rate values of bulk-type all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries by optimizing the electrode structures. Although simulations are an effective means of determining optimal structures, a high degree of accuracy is required. The present study demonstrates a pseudo-two-dimensional (P2D) method of simulating cathodes providing improved accuracy along with low computational cost and based on actual three-dimensional electrode structures. This method incorporates the volume fraction and tortuosity of the solid electrolyte (SE) and active material (AM), both of which are widely used in conventional simulations, and takes into account the specific contact area diameter (DSCA) of the AM. The latter parameter reflects the extent of AM particle aggregation and is obtained from the analysis of three-dimensional X-ray computed tomography images. The validity of these P2D simulations is confirmed by comparison with experimental results for three electrodes having different SE particle sizes. The experimental result shows that battery capacity is increased with decreases in the SE particle sizes. This effect is not predicted using conventional P2D simulations employing only volume fraction and tortuosity but is reproduced by P2D simulations in which DSCA values are used to model AM particle aggregation and Li diffusion within AM particles.

The operation of the SuperKEKB has been ongoing since 2016. The vacuum systems of the main ring (MR) which consists of a 7-GeV electron ring (HER) and a 4-GeV positron ring (LER), the damping ring (DR) for 1.1 GeV positrons in the middle of the injector linac have been working well as a whole. As of June 2022, the maximum stored beam currents of MR are 1.46 and 1.14 A for the LER and the HER, respectively, and approximately 30 mA for the DR. The pressure increase per unit beam current is steadily decreasing and the new vacuum components developed for the SuperKEKB have been working as expected. No significant electron cloud effect has been observed in the LER after installing solenoids in drift spaces in 2017 which apply magnetic fields in the beam direction. The recent pressure behavior of the LER with increased beam current is explained by considering thermal gas desorption induced by the beam as well as photon-stimulated gas desorption. Currently, the beam lifetime is primarily limited by the Touschek effect rather than the vacuum pressure, and their degrees of contribution are evaluated. The challenges associated with high beam currents, such as damage to beam-collimator heads and excess heating of beam pipes at wiggler sections have become more apparent as beam currents are increased. The status of the SuperKEKB vacuum system and the experiences during the past 6 years of operation are presented here.

Aim: To determine the effect of maternal egg consumption during lactation on the development of egg allergies in 12-month-old infants. We hypothesized that infants whose mothers consume larger amounts of eggs during the early lactation period acquire oral immune tolerance and are less likely to develop egg allergies at 12 months., Methods: This study was a part of the Japan Pregnancy Eating and Activity Cohort Study. Mothers answered questionnaires on egg consumption, breastfeeding rates at 1 month, infants' eczema at 6 months, and the development of egg allergies among infants at 12 months. In order to assess the actual impact of maternal egg consumption on infants' egg allergy development, breastfeeding-dependent egg consumption was calculated at 1 month by multiplying maternal egg consumption at 1 month with the breastfeeding rates at the same time. Logistic regression analysis was performed to examine the potential risk and protective factors., Results: Data from 420 infants were analyzed, of whom 27 had egg allergies at 12 months. No significant impact of breastfeeding-dependent egg consumption was observed on infants' egg allergy development at 12 months. However, infants with eczema at 6 months showed a greater risk of developing an egg allergy at 12 months (adjusted odds ratio, 3.59; 95% confidence interval, 1.59-8.13)., Conclusion: The results suggest that breastfeeding-dependent egg consumption at 1 month did not contribute to sufficient oral immune tolerance in 12-month-old infants. In this study, we aimed to determine the association of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) with maternal antenatal depression. This cross-sectional, online questionnaire-based observational study included 212 pregnant women between gestational ages 24 weeks and 28 weeks 6 days. PMS and PMDD were measured using the PMDD Scale, and maternal antenatal depression was evaluated using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Baseline characteristics, clinical information, and associated factors were also included in the questionnaire. Analyses were conducted using a binomial logistic regression model with Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale positivity (maternal antenatal depression) as the dependent variable. Having "PMDD" (odds ratio: 3.54 [95% confidence interval: 1.26-9.93], p = 0.02) and "PMS" (odds ratio 2.31 [1.10-4.87], p = 0.03) on the PMDD rating scale were significantly associated with maternal antenatal depression. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) reactivation-related hepatitis is likely to progress to acute liver failure, with high morbidity and mortality, even when nucleoside analogs are administered after the onset of hepatitis. We report a case of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL) with the development of HBV reactivation-related hepatitis during chemotherapy and successful treatment by a combination of entecavir and short-term intravenous administration of interferon (IFN)-β 3 MIU twice per day. This outcome suggests that this combination therapy has a potent effect in rapidly suppressing HBV replication in the early phase of hepatitis and may be effective and safe for the treatment of HBV reactivation-related hepatitis., Competing Interests: Human subjects: Consent was obtained or waived by all participants in this study. Background: Interoception encompasses the conscious awareness of homeostasis in the body. Given that fetal movement awareness is a component of interoception in pregnant women, the timing of initial detection of fetal movement may indicate individual differences in interoceptive sensitivity., Objective: The aim of this study is to determine whether the association between the gestational week of initial movement awareness and interoception can be a convenient evaluation index for interoception in pregnant women., Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 32 pregnant women aged 20 years or older at 22-29 weeks of gestation with stable hemodynamics in the Obstetric Outpatient Department. Interoception was assessed using the heartbeat-counting task, with gestational weeks at the first awareness of fetal movement recorded via a questionnaire. Spearman rank correlation was used to compare the gestational weeks at the first awareness of fetal movement and heartbeat-counting task scores., Results: A significant negative correlation was found between the gestational weeks at the first fetal movement awareness and heartbeat-counting task performance among all participants (r=-0.43, P=.01) and among primiparous women (r=-0.53, P=.03) but not among multiparous women., Conclusions: Individual differences in interoception appear to correlate with the differences observed in the timing of the first awareness of fetal movement., (©Miku Furusho, Minami Noda, Yoko Sato, Yoshiko Suetsugu, Seiichi Morokuma. Gestational anemia (GA) is a global health concern with a remarkably high prevalence in Japan, which is associated with various maternal and neonatal outcomes. This study aimed to explore whether GA and non-anemic iron deficiency (NAID) during the third trimester is associated with maternal characteristics, nutrient intake, low birth weight (LBW), and preterm birth. Participants were categorized into GA, NAID, and normal groups, based on serum ferritin and hemoglobin levels. Nutrient intake was assessed using the Brief Diet History Questionnaire. Data from 317 pregnant women were analyzed, including 110 (34.7%), 151 (47.6%), and 56 (17.6%) women in the GA, NAID, and normal groups, respectively. Factors associated with GA included being multipara ( p < 0.001) and not taking any type of iron supplements in the third trimester ( p = 0.043). The normal group had a significantly higher proportion of preterm birth and LBW than the GA and NAID groups. The GA group had a significantly higher energy intake than the normal group ( p = 0.044). Overall, energy and micronutrient intake were significantly below the estimated average requirement in the dietary reference intakes for Japanese. Health care professionals need to consider nutritional advice that can prevent GA by focusing on overall micronutrients, not just energy intake.

This study examined the association of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) intake during the second trimester with low birth weight (LBW) in pregnant Japanese women and was conducted in conjunction with the Japan Pregnancy Eating and Activity Cohort (J-PEACH) study. The study included 504 pregnant women from four Japanese sites. During the second trimester (14-27 weeks), the participants filled out a self-administered questionnaire assessing the frequency of DHA and EPA supplement intake in the past month, as well as a brief-type self-administered diet history questionnaire (BDHQ). The analysis involved data from two time points: responses to the BDHQ and infant data at birth. In total, 471 and 33 participants were classified into the normal birth weight and LBW groups, respectively. The participants were divided into high-, medium-, and low-intake groups based on their total dietary and EPA and DHA supplementary intakes. The Cochran-Armitage trend test was used to analyze the data; the prevalence of LBW was higher in the low-intake group ( p = 0.04). There was no significant sex-based trend ( p = 0.27 and p = 0.35). In Japanese women, low dietary and supplementary EPA and DHA intake until the second trimester were risk factors for LBW.

To determine the eye lens dose (3 mm dose equivalent [Hp(3)]) received by spine surgeons during myelography and evaluate the effectiveness of radiation-protective glasses and x-ray tube system positioning in reducing radiation exposure. This study included spine surgeons who performed myelography using over- or under-table x-ray tube systems. Hp(3) was measured for each examination using a radio-photoluminescence glass dosimeter (GD-352M) mounted on radiation-protective glass. This study identified significantly high Hp(3) levels, especially in the right eye lens in spinal surgeons. The median Hp(3) values in the right eye were 524 (391-719) and 58 (42-83) μ Sv/examination for over- and under-table x-ray tube systems, respectively. Further, Hp(3) AK , which was obtained by dividing the cumulative air kerma from Hp(3), was 8.09 (6.69-10.21) and 5.11 (4.06-6.31) μ Sv mGy -1 for the over- and under-table x-ray tube systems, respectively. Implementing radiation-protective glasses resulted in dose reduction rates of 54% (50%-57%) and 54% (51%-60%) for the over- and under-table x-ray tube systems, respectively. The use of radiation protection glasses significantly reduced the radiation dose in the eye lens during myelography, with the most effective measures being the combination of using radiation protection glasses and an under-table x-ray tube system., (© 2023 Society for Radiological Protection. Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy (NVP) is a common symptom. Although the influence of NVP during the first trimester on dietary intake and birth outcomes has been revealed, no study has focused on NVP during the second trimester. This study aimed to reveal whether NVP severity during the second trimester is associated with dietary intake, gestational weight gain (GWG), birth weight, and delivery week. Participants completed a questionnaire at 18-27 gestational weeks. NVP severity was assessed using the modified Pregnancy-Unique Quantification of Emesis and Nausea scale in the questionnaire. Dietary habits were assessed using a brief-type diet history questionnaire. In total, 825 responses were analyzed: 202 (24.5%), 135 (16.4%), and 8 (1.0%) women reported mild, moderate, and severe NVP, respectively; 480 (58.2%) women did not have NVP during the second trimester. No significant association was observed between energy and nutrient intake and no/mild and moderate/severe NVP. Women with moderate/severe NVP had lower total GWG than those with no/mild NVP ( p = 0.007). There was no significant difference in low birth weight and preterm birth rates ( p = 0.246 and p = 0.604). This is the first study to investigate whether NVP severity during the second trimester is associated with dietary intake and birth outcomes.

Objectives: The objective of the study is to analyze the difference in target dose distributions between Acuros XB (AXB) and collapsed cone convolution (CCC)/superposition and the impact of the tumor locations in clinical cases of stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) for lung cancer., Materials and Methods: Ninety-six patients underwent SABR for lung cancers Kyushu University Hospital from 2014 to 2017. We recalculated clinical plans originally calculated by AXB using CCC with the identical monitor units (MUs) and beam arrangements. We calculated the following dosimetric parameters: maximum dose (Dmax), minimum dose (Dmin), homogeneity index (HI), conformity index (CI), and D95 of the planning target volume (PTV). We investigated the difference between the results of two calculations and examined the impact of tumor location. Moreover, we determined the target central dose using a thorax phantom and assessed the calculation accuracy of the two algorithms for each fraction., Results: CCC significantly overestimated the dose to PTV, compared to AXB (P < 0.05). The mean differences of Dmax, Dmin, and D95 were 1.17, 1.95, and 1.85 Gy, respectively. The mean differences of HI and CI were 0.02 and - 0.06. Dmin, HI, and D95 had significant correlations with the tumor location, and the difference was greater when the PTV was included the chest wall (P < 0.05). The discrepancy between the calculated and irradiated dose was 2.48% for CCC, whereas it was 0.14% for AXB., Conclusions: We demonstrated that CCC significantly overestimated the dose to PTV relative to AXB in clinical cases of lung SABR.

Background: Sleep problems and irritable temperaments are common among infants with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The prospective association between such sleep problems and irritable temperaments and ASDs needs to be determined for elucidating the mechanism and exploring the future intervention study. Thus, in this study, we investigated whether sleep quality and temperament in 1-month-old infants are associated with the onset of ASD in 3-year-old children. We also assessed its sex-stratified associations., Methods: We conducted a longitudinal study using data from 69,751 mothers and infants from a large-cohort study, the Japan Environment and Children's Study. We examined the prospective association between infant sleep quality and temperament at 1 month of age and ASD diagnosis by 3 years of age., Results: Here we show infants with longer daytime sleep have a higher risk of later ASD than those with shorter daytime sleep (risk ratio [RR]: 1.33, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.01-1.75). Infants who experienced intense crying have a higher risk of ASD than those who did not (RR: 1.31, 95% CI: 1.00-1.72). There is a difference in sex in the association between a bad mood and later ASD. In particular, female infants experiencing bad moods have a higher risk of ASD than others (RR: 3.59, 95% CI: 1.91-6.75)., Conclusions: The study findings provide important information for future intervention to reduce the risk of future ASD., (© 2023. This study aimed to examine the association between infant sleep quality and temperament in one-month-old infants using a large cohort study data. We used data from the Japan Environment and Children's Study, a cohort study which follows around 100,000 women from pregnancy until their children's development. The mothers were asked about their infants' sleep and temperament using a structured questionnaire. Frequent crying (adjusted odds ratio [AOR]: 1.05, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.00-1.10) and intense crying (AOR: 1.19, 95% CI: 1.13-1.25) were positively associated with longer sleep periods during the day than at night. Female infants with longer daytime sleep periods than that at nighttime were more likely to cry frequently (AOR: 1.11, 95% CI: 1.04-1.20). Parous women with infants who had frequent night awakening believed their infants cried more intensely (AOR: 1.17, 95% CI: 1.03-1.31). The study demonstrated a specific association between sleep quality and temperament in one-month-old infants. Pregnancy and postpartum are periods in which women develop psychosocially. However, becoming a mother is stressful, and mood disorders related to anxiety and depression often develop. In recent years, research on interoception-sensations related to the body's internal physiological state-has attracted attention. Interoception has multifaceted characteristics. It involves directly perceiving information in the body while also inferring and evaluating it. In this study, we examined interoception, anxiety, and depression in Japanese pregnant women. Empirical examinations and questionnaire surveys were used to measure interoception in 32 pregnant women not at high risk of pregnancy. A Japanese adaption of the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness was used to measure interoceptive sensibility, and a heartbeat counting task performance was used to measure interoceptive accuracy. Anxiety and depression were measured using the Japanese versions of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, respectively. A correlation analysis was performed between interoception, anxiety and depression and between differences between sensibility and accuracy of interoception, anxiety and depression. We revealed that interoceptive sensibility and differences between sensibility and accuracy of interoception were associated with anxiety. Based on results of this pilot study, it is necessary to investigate using longitudinal studies whether interoception might be an effective predictor tool for early detection of anxiety during pregnancy and postpartum., Competing Interests: The authors have declared that no competing interests exist.
