Abstract Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common subtypes of NSCLC. However, the therapeutic effects for LUAD are unsatisfactory at current stage, so it is important to find new molecular targets and therapeutic strategies. circRNAs can regulate the expression of target genes by binding to microRNAs (miRNAs) to form competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs). Therefore, we investigated the functions of circR-4225 in the tumor progression of LUAD and its molecular mechanism in this paper. circR-4225 is up-regulated in LUAD tissues. EIF4A3, a member of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4A (EIF4A) family, promotes the expression of circR-4225. circR-4225 acts as a molecular sponge to down-regulate miR-507, which promotes the up-regulation of the expression of its target gene–tumor necrosis factor superfamily member 11 (TNFSF11). Knockdown of circR-4225 in the LUAD cell lines can inhibit cell proliferation and viability, and promote apoptosis of the LUAD cell lines, which can be reverted by inhibiting miR-507 or overexpressing TNFSF11. To sum it up, this study demonstrated that circR-4225 was significantly up-regulated in LUAD tissues, and circR-4225 promoted LUAD progression by sponging miR-507 and up-regulating TNFSF11. This study can provide new molecular targets for early diagnosis and treatment of LUAD.

Abstract A novel method is proposed for rail fastener detection based on millimetre‐wave (mmWave) radar, mmWave radar fastener counter (MMW‐FC), which can accurately detect and record the fasteners in real‐time as the train traverses its route. Under circumstances where GNSS signals remain unavailable for prolonged durations, precise train localisation can be accomplished by correlating the number of fasteners derived from this method with the corresponding track map. Initially, MMW‐FC utilises fast Fourier transform and adaptive beamforming to focus the energy reflected from fasteners. Subsequently, it applies an adaptive template‐matching algorithm to detect each fastener. Furthermore, by leveraging known fastener spacing and the average time for trains to pass adjacent fasteners, the Kalman filter can execute precise speed tracking, used as a speed reference when adjusting the matching template adaptively. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can precisely count the fasteners the train encounters in diverse road and speed conditions. The fastener counter maintains the Counting Error less than 0.067%, the speed error stays below 1.8 km/h, and the maximum values of the mean absolute error and root mean square error for speed are 0.7337 and 0.9584 km/h, respectively.

Developing electroactive materials with superior sensitivity, selectivity, and so on is an important issue for target ions detection. Hierarchically heterostructured nanomaterials represent a kind of promising active materials for electrochemical sensors due to the synthetic effect between different components and the high surface area. Herein, heterostructured UIO-66-NH2/CNTs nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized via the solvothermal method and investigated for the detection of Pb2+ ions. The SEM, TEM, XRD and FTIR collectively confirmed that the UIO-66-NH2 was successfully loaded on the surface of the CNTs. The specific surface areas of the UIO-66-NH2/CNTs are 4–7 times higher than that of activated CNTs and more mesoporous structures appear in composite materials. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements showed that the concentration of CNTs could influence the electron mobility and the UIO-66-NH2/CNTs-15 exhibits the lowest charge transfer resistance and the highest capacitive property. The cyclic voltammetry study towards K3[Fe(CN)6] further demonstrated that the CNTs can improve the conductivity of the composites especially for the UIO-66-NH2/CNTs-15, which was conducive to the sensing behavior confirmed by follow-up performance experiments. Under the optimized condition, UIO-66-NH2/CNTs-15 exhibits the best sensing performance towards Pb2+. Correspondingly, a high sensitivity of 1.64 μA (μmol/L)−1 and a low detection limitation of 0.206 μmol/L (S/N = 3) are achieved. Meanwhile, a wide detection range, excellent selectivity, repeatability, and stability are also obtained. The recovery experiment by standard addition method is also carried out and a satisfactory result has been attained indicating a promising sensor for practical application.
