Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has posed formidable challenges to economic mobility and corporate expansion. Among these challenges is its pronounced effect on knowledge innovation, a cornerstone upon which many organizations depend. To re-establish the flow of internal knowledge, organizations are compelled to refine their knowledge management strategies and amplify employees’ motivation and eagerness to share and transfer information. This study delves into the influence of knowledge management processes on employees’ knowledge-sharing and transfer behaviors, viewed through the lens of the social exchange theory. It also probes the role of social capital in fostering and augmenting employees’ involvement in refining these processes. Data was gleaned from 30 information service firms in mainland China, resulting in 483 valid responses. Our findings highlight that both relational and structural forms of social capital positively influence the knowledge management processes, subsequently enhancing employees’ knowledge-sharing and transfer behaviors.

BackgroundTo date， pharmacologic therapy is considered the standard first-line treatment for insomnia disorder， but there are still some concerns over the adverse reactions. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation （rTMS） and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia （CBT-I） as an alternative to pharmacologic therapy have the advantages of fewer side effects and better patient tolerance in the treatment of chronic insomnia disorder.ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy of rTMS and CBT-I on chronic insomnia disorder， so as to provide a novel therapeutic option for the treatment of chronic insomnia disorder.MethodsA total of 50 patients with chronic insomnia disorder attending the outpatient clinic of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Mental Health Center or community hospital from September 21， 2020 to December 16， 2021 and fulfilling the International Classification of Sleep Disorders， third edition （ICSD-3） diagnostic criteria were enrolled. Additionally， 16 age- and sex-matched healthy controls recruited from the community were set as control group. Patients were randomly divided into rTMS group and CBT-I group， 25 cases in each group， and received rTMS or CBT-I intervention for 6 weeks respectively. At enrollment and completion of intervention， patients were subjected to Polysomnography （PSG）， Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index （PSQI）， Insomnia Severity Index （ISI） and Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status （RBANS）. All participants underwent resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging （rs-fMRI） scans， and amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation （ALFF） was calculated. Abstract This study investigates the impact of strategic human resource management (SHRM) on fostering green innovation and enhancing environmental performance among employees in the Asia-Pacific region. In the context of intensifying competition in the industrial sector, it is essential to understand how SHRM influences employees’ innovative capabilities and their alignment with environmental goals. Our research suggests that effective SHRM strategies can significantly increase self-efficacy and stimulate green innovation, thus reinforcing the alignment between individual and organizational environmental objectives. To empirically test these hypotheses, we conducted a survey of 487 employees and used Smart-PLS 4.0 for structural equation modeling. This method allowed us to examine both the mediating and moderating effects within our model. The results indicate that self-efficacy mediates the relationship between SHRM practices and green innovation, while person-organization fit significantly moderates the relationship between green innovation and environmental performance. This study offers novel insights into how SHRM can promote environmental consciousness and innovation within organizations. By underscoring the roles of self-efficacy and person-organization fit, our research enriches the broader scholarly dialog on strategic human resource management and its environmental implications.

Background: Hemodialysis (HD) patients are particularly vulnerable to severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) due to their immunocompromised state and comorbid conditions. Timely vaccination could be the most effective strategy to reduce morbidity and mortality. However, data on the survival benefit of the COVID-19 vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and death among HD patients are limited, especially during the Omicron-dominant period. Methods: In this prospective hospital-based cohort study, we identified HD patients from July 1, 2021, to April 29, 2022. The patients were divided into fully vaccinated and partially vaccinated groups. We compared the humoral response, risk of developing SARS-CoV-2 infection, and all-cause mortality between the two groups. Results: Among the 440 HD patients included, 152 patients were fully vaccinated, and 288 patients were partially vaccinated. Patients in the fully vaccinated group exhibited higher anti-spike protein receptor-binding domain (S protein RBD) antibody levels and lower risks of all-cause mortality (adjusted hazard ratio, 0.35; 95% confidence interval, 0.17–0.73; p = 0.005) than the partially vaccinated group. However, the risk for SARS-CoV-2 infection did not significantly differ between the two groups. Irrespective of the number of vaccinations, the risk of all-cause mortality was lower in patients with anti-S protein RBD antibody levels in the higher tertile. Conclusion: A third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was associated with a decreased risk of all-cause mortality among HD patients during the Omicron-dominant period. A higher post-vaccination anti-S protein RBD antibody level was also associated with a lower risk of mortality.

Abstract This study investigates the correlations among perceived organizational support (POS), self-efficacy, knowledge transfer, and innovative behaviors of employees in the information service companies of Taiwan and mainland China using goal-oriented behavior and social identity theory. A structural model was built, and data were collected through a survey conducted in two rounds, two months apart, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results indicate that POS significantly affects innovation behavior and self-efficacy in both regions, and self-efficacy plays a key mediating role in the research model. However, the relationship between POS and knowledge transfer was non-significant for mainland China. The study also reveals that the culture of knowledge sharing in the organization can promote employees’ innovation, knowledge sharing behavior, communication, and knowledge transfer. The findings imply that managers should provide organizational support to improve employees’ innovative minds and self-belief, particularly during the pandemic. This research fills a theoretical gap by applying Western theories in an Eastern context and broadening the generalization of the theory. It provides practical implications for improving the quality of human resources by suggesting that managers should provide organizational support to improve employees’ innovative minds and self-belief, particularly during a pandemic. Additionally, it contributes to the literature by examining how cross-cultural differences affect the relationships among POS, self-efficacy, knowledge transfer, and innovative behavior. This study also enriches the literature about employees in particular regions and their service innovation behaviors.

Abstract For the treatment of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), the imaging of cervical lymph nodes and the evaluation of metastastic progression are of great significance. In recent years, the development of new non-radioactive lymph node tracers has been an area of intense research. Here, we report the synthesis, good biocompatibility, and in vivo evaluation of a new small molecule near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence probe by the conjugation of Lapatinib to S0456 (LP-S). We show that like Lapatinib, LP-S binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) resulting in high quality fluorescence imaging of metastatic lymph nodes in OSCC mouse models. After local injection of LP-S into the tumor, the lymphatic drainage pathway and lymph nodes can be clearly identified by NIR fluorescence imaging. Further, the LP-S probe shows higher contrast and longer retention in metastatic lymph nodes, allowing them to be differentiated from normal lymph nodes, and affording a new choice for fluorescence-guided surgery. Background Dietary components can produce a variety of bioactive substances that maintain a low inflammatory state in the body and participate in the formation of the tumor microenvironment. The dietary inflammatory index (DII) is a new indicator to quantify the inflammatory potential of diet. High DII score is closely associated with the risk of colorectal cancer, but its relationship with upper gastrointestinal cancer (UGIC) is unclear. Objective This study was conducted to assess the relationship between DII and the risk of UGIC, providing a scientific basis for dietary guidance. Methods We did a systematic search of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and the Cochrane Library for studies on the association of DII score and UGIC published in English, and Wanfang Data, CNKI and VIP for those published in Chinese, from inception to October 10, 2022. Two researchers performed literature screening, data extraction, and quality evaluation separately. RevMan 5.4.1 was used for meta-analysis and subgroup analysis. Results A total of 11 case-control studies including 9 051 participants were included in this study. Abstract Objectives Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) imposes a great burden on healthcare systems, and these patients experience higher long-term risks for developing end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Managing diabetic nephropathy becomes more challenging when kidney function starts declining. Therefore, developing predictive models for the risk of developing ESRD in newly diagnosed T2DM patients may be helpful in clinical settings. Methods We established machine learning models constructed from a subset of clinical features collected from 53,477 newly diagnosed T2DM patients from January 2008 to December 2018 and then selected the best model. The cohort was divided, with 70% and 30% of patients randomly assigned to the training and testing sets, respectively. Results The discriminative ability of our machine learning models, including logistic regression, extra tree classifier, random forest, gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and light gradient boosting machine were evaluated across the cohort. XGBoost yielded the highest area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.953, followed by extra tree and GBDT, with AUC values of 0.952 and 0.938 on the testing dataset. The SHapley Additive explanation summary plot in the XGBoost model illustrated that the top five important features included baseline serum creatinine, mean serum creatine within 1 year before the diagnosis of T2DM, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, spot urine protein-to-creatinine ratio and female gender. Conclusions Because our machine learning prediction models were based on routinely collected clinical features, they can be used as risk assessment tools for developing ESRD. By identifying high-risk patients, intervention strategies may be provided at an early stage.

Abstract Background Triclosan, an antimicrobial agent in personal care products, could be absorbed into the human body through the digestive tract. This animal experiment aimed to clarify the effects of triclosan exposure on the microbiome and intestinal immune functions in healthy and ulcerative colitis models. Methods Balb/c mice were maintained on an AIN-93G diet containing 80ppm triclosan dissolved in polyethylene as vehicle or vehicle alone for 1 week or 4 weeks. In the end, the mice were sacrificed, blood samples and colon tissues were collected for analysis of inflammation, and fecal samples were collected for 16 S rRNA sequencing of gut microbiota. To establish ulcerative colitis mice model, at the beginning of the 4th week, mice maintained on the diet with or without triclosan were treated with 2% Dextran sulfate sodium(DSS) in drinking water for 1 week. Then mice were sacrificed for analysis of colitis and gut microbiota. Results Triclosan exposure to common mice enhanced the levels of p-NF-κb and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), and decreased the Occludin in the colon. Triclosan exposure to DSS-induced mice increased the level of inflammatory cytokines, reduced the levels of Occludin, and exacerbated the degree of damage to intestinal mucosa and crypt, infiltration of inflammatory cells and atypia of glandular cells. Low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia appeared. Both in common and DSS-induced mice, triclosan exposure changed the diversity and composition of gut microbiota. Fecal samples showed higher enrichment of sulfate-reducing bacteria and Bacteroides, and less butyrate-producing bacteria. Conclusion Triclosan exposure induced disturbance of gut microbiota and exaggerated experimental colitis in mice. And changes in the composition of gut microbiota were characterized by the increase of harmful bacteria, including sulfate-reducing bacteria and Bacteroides, and the reduction of protective probiotics, butyrate-producing bacteria.
