1. Microstructure and tribological properties of laser directed energy deposited 316-NiTi heterogeneous bionic sandwich structure coatings

Abstract: In this study, inspired by multilayer structures in nature, an equal weight ratio Ni/Cu composite sandwich specimen was introduced for joining 316 and NiTi alloys to improve the wear resistance of 316. The microstructural evolution process as well as the wear resistance mechanism is clarified by a series of material characterization methods and mechanical property tests. The microstructure of the Ni/Cu interlayer exhibits a dendritic morphology, and the NiTi layer shows both coarse and fine characteristics. The crystallography of 316-Ni/Cu–NiTi composite sandwich specimens was investigated by electron backscatter diffraction. Three types of friction balls (316, 440C, 100Cr6) were used to perform dry reciprocating sliding ball-on-plate wear testing on 316-Ni/Cu–NiTi composite sandwich specimens and 316 substrates under varying normal loads from 10 N to 30 N. The 316-Ni/Cu–NiTi specimens showed better wear resistance compared to the 316 substrate under different wear conditions, when the normal load is 30 N and the friction ball is 100Cr6, the specific wear rate of the coating is only 44% of the substrate. This study not only provides insights to enhance the wear resistance of 316, but also develops a novel approach to broaden the connection between austenitic stainless steel and NiTi alloys.

2. A comparison on microstructure features, compression property and wear performance of TC4 and TC11 alloys fabricated by multi-wire arc additive manufacturing

Abstract: Multi-wire arc additive manufacturing (MWAAM) enabled customized production with high deposition efficiency and low cost as compared to the common wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology. In this paper, two titanium alloy components were prepared using the MWAAM technique, and the microstructures, mechanical properties, and wear behaviors of Ti–6Al–4V (TC4) alloy and Ti-6.5A1-3.5Mo-1.5Zr-0.3Si (TC11) alloy were investigated. The results showed that the microstructure distribution of TC11 alloy prepared by MWAAM was more intensive and the length and width of the lamellar α-Ti phase were significantly reduced compared with that of TC4 alloy. The polar densities corresponding to the texture in the two selected regions of the TC4 alloy and the TC11 alloy were 17.30 and 17.69, respectively. The proportion of the HAGBs of the TC4 sample and the TC11 sample were 99.07 % and 99.43 %, respectively. The average microhardness on the X–Y plane of TC4 and TC11 alloys were 316.17 HV and 366.14 HV, respectively, while the average microhardness on the Y-Z plane were 318.18 HV and 358.10 HV, respectively. The average compression yield strengths of TC4 and TC11 alloys were 836.61 MPa and 1088.33 MPa, respectively. The COFs of MWAAM TC4 and TC11 samples were stable at 0.479 and 0.455 under 20 N, respectively. The COFs of MWAAM TC4 and TC11 samples were stable at 0.472 and 0.432 under 60 N, respectively. The average yield strength, average ultimate strength, proportion of HAGBs, and microhardness of TC11 alloy were all higher than that of TC4 alloy. These results indicated that TC11 alloy had advantages over TC4 alloy in terms of mechanical properties and microstructure, with higher strength and deformation resistance. The properties of titanium alloy samples prepared by MWAAM were not lower than those of titanium alloy samples prepared by single wire WAAM, while MWAAM significantly better than single wire WAAM in deposition efficiency. The results obtained in this paper can help to prepare titanium alloy components with excellent mechanical properties more efficiently in MWAAM process.

Abstract: A massless particle beyond the Standard Model is searched for in the two-body decay Σ+→p+invisible using (1.0087±0.0044)×1010 J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy of s=3.097GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction B(Σ+→p+invisible) is determined to be 3.2×10−5 at the 90% confidence level. This is the first search for a flavor-changing neutral current process with missing energy in hyperon decays which plays an important role in constraining new physics models.

4. Revealing microstructural evolutions, mechanical properties and wear performance of wire arc additive manufacturing homogeneous and heterogeneous NiTi alloy

Abstract: Heterogeneous microstructure designs have attracted a great deal of attention, not only because they have the potential to achieve an ideal combination of two conflicting properties, but also because the processes involved in their fabrication are cost-effective and can be scaled up for industrial production. The process parameters in the preparation process have an important effect on the microstructure and properties of alloy members prepared by wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology. It was expected that the spatial heterogeneous microstructure with large microstructural heterogeneities in metals can be formed through changing the process parameters. In this work, homogeneous NiTi thin-walled component and heterogeneous NiTi thin-walled component were fabricated using WAAM technology by adjusting the heat input. The effects of deposition height and heat input on the microstructure, mechanical properties and wear properties of WAAM NiTi alloys were investigated. The results show that grains were gradually refined with the increase of deposition height in the homogeneous WAAM NiTi component. The ultimate tensile strength of homogeneous WAAM NiTi component increased from 606.87 MPa to 654.45 MPa and the elongation increased from 12.72% to 15.38%, as the increase of deposition height. Moreover, the homogeneous WAAM NiTi component exhibited excellent wear resistance, the coefficient of friction decreased from 0.760 to 0.715 with the increase of deposition height. Meanwhile, the grains in the heterogeneous WAAM NiTi component shows the finest grains in the central region. The ultimate tensile strength of the lower region, middle region and upper region of heterogeneous WAAM NiTi components were 556.12 MPa, 599.53 MPa and 739.79 MPa, and the elongations were 12.98%, 16.69%, 21.74%, respectively. The coefficient of friction for the lower region, middle region and upper region of heterogeneous WAAM NiTi components were 0.713, 0.720 and 0.710, respectively. The microhardness and cyclic compression properties of the homogeneous components with higher heat input were better than those of the heterogeneous components for the same deposition height. The tensile yield strength, elongation and wear resistance of the heterogeneous components were superior compared to the homogeneous components. These results can be used to optimize the WAAM process parameters to prepare NiTi components with excellent mechanical properties.

5. Screening of transcription factors related to flower and fruit development by differential gene analysis in Lycium species

Abstract: Lycium barbarum Thunb. and Lycium ruthenicum Murray (wolfberries) have been utilized as traditional medicinal and nutritional plants in China for centuries. Much research has been focused on their high quality, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying morphological differences remain unclear. In this study, a comparative analysis of morphological and cytological characteristics indicated that significant differences existed. Meanwhile, transcriptomic analyses of the flower and fruit were performed at different developmental stages, and a total of 54 795 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were screened. Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses showed that these DEGs were significantly enriched in substance metabolism, catalytic activity, single organism process, starch and sucrose metabolism, carotenoid biosynthesis, amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, and other pathways. Based on these significantly enriched pathways, the ratio between nonsynonymous and synonymous substitution rates (Ka/Ks), and numerous studies related to flower and fruit development, we preliminarily screened eight transcription factor families related to flower and fruit development and counted the number of potential transcription factor genes. These candidate genes could provide a basis for future functional verification, helping to further research on the molecular mechanism of morphological differences in the two Lycium species.

Abstract: The spin and parity of the charmed mesons Ds⁎+, D⁎0 and D⁎+ are determined for the first time to be JP=1− with significances greater than 10σ over other hypotheses of 2+ and 3−, using an e+e− collision data sample with an integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV. Different spin-parity hypotheses are tested via a helicity amplitude analysis of the processes e+e−→Ds⁎+Ds−, D⁎0D0 and D⁎+D−, with Ds⁎+→Ds+γ, D⁎0→D0π0, and D⁎+→D+π0. The results confirm the quark model predictions.

Abstract: We search for the semi-leptonic decays Λc+→Λπ+π−e+νe and Λc+→pKS0π−e+νe in a sample of 4.5fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected in the center-of-mass energy region between 4.600GeV and 4.699GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on the decay branching fractions are set to be B(Λc+→Λπ+π−e+νe)

Abstract: We report a search for a dark photon using 14.9 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from 4.13 to 4.60 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII storage ring. The dark photon is assumed to be produced in the radiative annihilation process of e+e− and to predominantly decay into light dark matter particles, which escape from the detector undetected. The mass range from 1.5 to 2.9 GeV is scanned for the dark photon candidate, and no significant signal is observed. The mass dependent upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the coupling strength parameter ϵ for a dark photon coupling with an ordinary photon vary between 1.6×10−3 and 5.7×10−3.

Abstract: We search for an axion-like particle (ALP) a through the process ψ(3686)→π+π−J/ψ, J/ψ→γa, a→γγ in a data sample of (2.71±0.01)×109 ψ(3686) events collected by the BESIII detector. No significant ALP signal is observed over the expected background, and the upper limits on the branching fraction of the decay J/ψ→γa and the ALP-photon coupling constant gaγγ are set at 95% confidence level in the mass range of 0.165≤ma≤2.84GeV/c2. The limits on B(J/ψ→γa) range from 8.3×10−8 to 1.8×10−6 over the search region, and the constraints on the ALP-photon coupling are the most stringent to date for 0.165≤ma≤1.468GeV/c2.

Abstract: The Born cross sections of e+e−→Σ0Σ¯0 are measured at center-of-mass energies from 2.3864 to 3.0200 GeV using data samples with an integrated luminosity of 328.5 pb−1 collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The analysis makes use of a novel reconstruction method for energies near production threshold, while a single-tag method is employed at other center-of-mass energies. The measured cross sections are consistent with earlier results from BaBar, with a substantially improved precision. The cross-section lineshape can be well described by a perturbative QCD-driven energy function. In addition, the effective form factors of the Σ0 baryon are determined. The results provide precise experimental input for testing various theoretical predictions.

Abstract: Prolate-oblate shape coexistence close to the ground state in the strongly-deformed proton-rich A≈120 nuclei is reported for the first time. One of the four reported bands in 119Cs, built on a 11/2− state at 670 keV, consists of nearly degenerate signature partners, and has properties which unequivocally indicate the strongly-coupled πh11/2[505]11/2− configuration associated with oblate shape. Together with the decoupled πh11/2[541]3/2− band built on the 11/2− prolate state at 110 keV, for which a half-life of T1/2=55(5)μs has been measured, the new bands bring evidence of shape coexistence at low spin in the proton-rich strongly deformed A≈120 nuclei, a phenomenon predicted since long time, but not yet observed. Calculations using the particle-number conserving cranked shell model and two dimensional tilted axis cranking covariant density functional theory support and well reproduce the observed oblate and prolate coexisting low-energy states in 119Cs.

15. Comprehensive evaluation of end-point free energy techniques in carboxylated-pillar[6]arene host–guest binding: I. Standard procedure

Abstract: Despite the massive application of end-point free energy methods in protein-ligand and protein-protein interactions, computational understandings about their performance in relatively simple and prototypical host-guest systems are limited. In this work, we present a comprehensive benchmark calculation with standard end-point free energy techniques in a recent host-guest dataset containing 13 host-guest pairs involving the carboxylated-pillar[6]arene host. We first assess the charge schemes for solutes by comparing the charge-produced electrostatics with many ab initio references, in order to obtain a preliminary albeit detailed view of the charge quality. Then, we focus on four modelling details of end-point free energy calculations, including the docking procedure for the generation of initial condition, the charge scheme for host and guest molecules, the water model used in explicit-solvent sampling, and the end-point methods for free energy estimation. The binding thermodynamics obtained with different modelling schemes are compared with experimental references, and some practical guidelines on maximizing the performance of end-point methods in practical host-guest systems are summarized. Further, we compare our simulation outcome with predictions in the grand challenge and discuss further developments to improve the prediction quality of end-point free energy methods. Overall, unlike the widely acknowledged applicability in protein-ligand binding, the standard end-point calculations cannot produce useful outcomes in host-guest binding and thus are not recommended unless alterations are performed.

16. <scp>iTRAQ</scp> ‐based quantitative proteomics reveals biomarkers/pathways in psoriasis that can predict the efficacy of methotrexate

Abstract: Methotrexate (MTX) is the first-line medicine to treat psoriasis. So far, there has been less research on protein biomarkers to predict its efficacy by the proteomic technique.To evaluate differentially expressed proteins in peripheral mononuclear cells (PBMCs) between good responders (GRs) and non-responders (NRs) after MTX treatment, compared with normal controls (NCs).We quantified protein expression of PBMCs with four GRs and four NRs to MTX and four NCs by isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ), analysing and identifying proteins related to efficacy of MTX in 18 psoriatic patients.A total of 3177 proteins had quantitative information, and 403 differentially expressed proteins (fold change ≥1.2, P 0.05) were identified. Compared to NCs, upregulated proteins (ANXA6, RPS27A, EZR, XRCC6), participating in the activation of NF-κB, the JAK-STAT pathway and neutrophil degranulation were detected in GRs. The proteins (GPV, FN1, STOM), involving platelet activation, signalling and aggregation as well as neutrophil degranulation were significantly downregulated in GRs. These proteins returned to normal levels after MTX treatment. Furthermore, Western blotting identified the expression of ANXA6 and STAT1 in PBMCs, which were significantly downregulated in GRs, but not in NRs.We identified seven differentially expressed and regulated proteins (ANXA6, GPV, FN1, XRCC6, STOM, RPS27A and EZR) as biomarkers to predict MTX efficacy in NF-κB signalling, JAK-STAT pathways, neutrophil degranulation, platelet activation, signalling and aggregation.

Abstract: We report a search for a dark photon using $14.9$~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from 4.13 to 4.60~GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII storage ring. The dark photon is assumed to be produced in the radiative annihilation process of $e^+e^-$ and to predominantly decay into light dark matter particles, which escape from the detector undetected. The mass range from 1.5 to 2.9~GeV is scanned for the dark photon candidate, and no significant signal is observed. The mass dependent upper limits at the 90$\%$ confidence level on the coupling strength parameter $\epsilon$ for a dark photon coupling with an ordinary photon vary between $1.6\times 10^{-3}$ and $5.7\times10^{-3}$., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

19. DeepBindGCN: Integrating Molecular Vector Representation with Graph Convolutional Neural Networks for Accurate Protein-Ligand Interaction Prediction

Abstract: The core of large-scale drug virtual screening is to accurately and efficiently select the binders with high affinity from large libraries of small molecules in which nonbinders are usually dominant. The protein pocket, ligand spatial information, and residue types/atom types play a pivotal role in binding affinity. Here we used the pocket residues or ligand atoms as nodes and constructed edges with the neighboring information to comprehensively represent the protein pocket or ligand information. Moreover, we find that the model with pre-trained molecular vectors performs better than the onehot representation. The main advantage of DeepBindGCN is that it is non-dependent on docking conformation and concisely keeps the spatial information and physical-chemical feature. Notably, the DeepBindGCN_BC has high precision in many DUD.E datasets, and DeepBindGCN_RG achieve a very low RMSE value in most DUD.E datasets. Using TIPE3 and PD-L1 dimer as proof-of-concept examples, we proposed a screening pipeline by integrating DeepBindGCN_BC, DeepBindGCN_RG, and other methods to identify strong binding affinity compounds. In addition, a DeepBindGCN_RG_x model has been used for comparing performance with other methods in PDBbind v.2016 and v.2013 core set. It is the first time that a non-complex dependent model achieves an RMSE value of 1.3843 and Pearson-R value of 0.7719 in the PDBbind v.2016 core set, showing comparable prediction power with the state-of-the-art affinity prediction models that rely upon the 3D complex. Our DeepBindGCN provides a powerful tool to predict the protein-ligand interaction and can be used in many important large-scale virtual screening application scenarios.

20. Identification of Mechanism of Action and Novel Compounds Targeting HsDHODH: Insights from Computational Analysis

Abstract: HsDHODH is a target of the human dehydrogenase enzyme, and HsDHODH inhibitors have shown potential applications in treating autoimmune diseases and cancer. Specific inhibitors have demonstrated potential therapeutic efficacy in treating autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. However, the use of HsDHODH inhibitors may cause some side effects, such as interfering with DNA synthesis and causing apoptosis, which can be harmful to the body. In addition, drug resistance may occur during their use. Furthermore, the pharmacological mechanism of action of HsDHODH inhibitors is not fully understood, which may limit their use in treating specific diseases. Recently, the ASGBIE_ESS method was used to calculate the binding free energy between HsDHODH and ascofuranone derivatives. The results showed a correlation of 0.9066 with experimental data, indicating the method's reliability. The energy decomposition analysis identified several hot-spot residues, including M13, L16, Q17, H26, F32, F68, R106, Y326, and T330, that play crucial roles in the ligand-protein binding process based on the crystal structure. Combining virtual screening with the ASGBIE_ESS method, new compounds with unique backbones that have the potential to be valuable inhibitors of HsDHODH were identified. Remarkably, the computational predictions for the biological activity of these derivatives exceeded experimental results. The analysis showed that the identified compounds form stable hydrophobic interactions with residues around the pocket in the protein's hydrophobic region. Additionally, the binding ability of these derivatives is improved when they form hydrogen bonding interactions with specific residues in the pocket. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights into the mechanism of ligand-protein binding for HsDHODH and offers promising leads for developing novel inhibitors targeting this enzyme.

25. Identification of a Small Molecule that Binds to the PD-L1 Dimer Interface

Abstract: In recent years, antibody drugs targeting PD-1/PD-L1 immune checkpoints have shown immense clinical benefits in cancer treatment. However, these drugs suffer from poor patient tolerance, large and difficult-to-control adverse reactions, insufficient oral bioavailability, and low response rates for most solid tumours, which hinder their further application. Due to the poor pharmacodynamic properties and the shallow interface of the PD-1/PD-L1 binding pocket, progress in developing small molecule PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors that can overcome the limitations of monoclonal antibodies has been slow. Recently, many compounds have been discovered that bind to the PD-L1/PD-L1 dimer interface, providing a promising avenue for inhibiting the interaction of PD-1/PD-L1 with small molecules. Among them, biphenyl compounds that induce PD-L1 dimerization and block the interaction of PD-1 and PD-L1 have shown strong activity. In this study, we conducted virtual screening against the PD-L1 dimer interface and identified a novel biphenyl small molecule inhibitor, ZQ-4, with a unique structure. Molecular dynamics simulations were used to determine the possible binding conformations of ZQ-4 and PD-L1 dimer, and the Alanine Scanning-Interaction Entropy method was used to compare the binding free energy of ZQ-4 and BMS-200. These results provide a foundation for optimizing the hit compound and exploring novel PD-1/PD-L1 small molecule inhibitors.

26. Deep-learning based bioactive peptides generation and screening against Xanthine oxidase

Abstract: In our previous work, we have developed LSTM_Pep to generatede novopotential active peptides by finetuning with known active peptides and developed DeepPep to effectively identify protein-peptide interaction. Here, we have combined LSTM_Pep and DeepPep to successfully obtained an activede novopeptide (ARG-ALA-PRO-GLU) of Xanthine oxidase (XOD) with IC50 value of 3.76mg/mL, and XOD inhibitory activity of 64.32%. Consistent with the experiment result, the peptide ARG-ALA-PRO-GLU has the highest DeepPep score, this strongly supports that we can generatede novopotential active peptides by finetune training LSTM_Pep over some known active peptides and identify those active peptides by DeepPep effectively. Our work sheds light on the development of deep learning-based methods and pipelines to effectively generate and obtain bioactive peptides with a specific therapeutic effect and showcases how artificial intelligence can help discoverde novobioactive peptides that can bind to a particular target.

27. Deep-learning based bioactive therapeutic peptides generation and screening

Abstract: Many bioactive peptides demonstrated therapeutic effects over-complicated diseases, such as antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer,etc. Similar to the generatingde novochemical compounds, with the accumulated bioactive peptides as a training set, it is possible to generate abundant potential bioactive peptides with deep learning. Such techniques would be significant for drug development since peptides are much easier and cheaper to synthesize than compounds. However, there are very few deep learning-based peptide generating models. Here, we have created an LSTM model (named LSTM_Pep) to generatede novopeptides and finetune learning to generatede novopeptides with certain potential therapeutic effects. Remarkably, the Antimicrobial Peptide Database has fully utilized in this work to generate various kinds of potential activede novopeptide. We proposed a pipeline for screening those generated peptides for a given target, and use Main protease of SARS-COV-2 as concept-of-proof example. Moreover, we have developed a deep learning-based protein-peptide prediction model (named DeepPep) for fast screening the generated peptides for the given targets. Together with the generating model, we have demonstrated iteratively finetune training, generating and screening peptides for higher predicted binding affinity peptides can be achieved. Our work sheds light on to the development of deep learning-based methods and pipelines to effectively generating and getting bioactive peptides with a specific therapeutic effect, and showcases how artificial intelligence can help discoverde novobioactive peptides that can bind to a particular target.

28. Transcriptome Analysis of the Regulation of Retinoic Acid on the Growth and Development of Brandt’s Vole

Abstract: Background: Studying the growth and developmental mechanisms of steppe (Brandt’s) voles is important for biological control and protection of steppe ecology. In this paper, preliminary biological experiments’ data showed that the mortality of Brandt’s vole increased after retinoic acid treatment. Methods: LPH inhibitor, retinoic acid, quercetin and DMSO (Standard treatment concentration 10 mg/ml) were given them through oral with the help of Animal oral gavage feeding needles. The hind legs muscles of surviving Brandt’s voles were collected for transcriptomic analysis. Result: A total of 4047 and 2251 up- and down-regulated transcripts, respectively, were observed upon retinoic acid treatment compared to the DMSO (control) treatment. Transcriptomic changes were enriched significantly in 31 KEGG pathways, most of which were involved in sugar metabolism, particularly for fructose and mannose (ko00051), protein digestion and absorption (ko04974), phenylalanine metabolism (ko00360), tyrosine metabolism (ko00350) and the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway (ko04151), which is related to growth and development. A total of 114 differentially expressed genes were screened as candidate genes according to the enrichment results, including c-Jun N-terminal kinase and tubulin epsilon chain verified by RT-PCR. Ultimately, we proposed a preliminary regulatory molecular mechanism of retinoic acid relevant to mouse development and death.

Abstract: A Cylindrical Gas Electron Multiplier (CGEM) is under construction for the upgrade of the BESIII inner tracker. A preliminary simulation of the CGEM signal before the frond-end electronics has been worked out by making some sampling models from the beforehand Garfield++ simulation. The electronics response functions are implemented making the simulation of CGEM more complete. By comparing the cosmic-ray data acquired by two layers of CGEM and the simulation, the micro-sector effect is simulated and some key parameters in the sampling models are fine tuned in this order: gain, charge sharing, charge fluctuation and electron diffusion. A general agreement is achieved between the cosmic-ray data and the simulation with these improvements.

Abstract: In this paper, the 3.5 vol.%TiB reinforced TC4 (Ti6Al4V) matrix composites were successfully fabricated using a mechanical ball milling and spark plasma sintering. The sintering temperature, sintering pressure and holding time were 700 °C~1100 °C, 40 MPa and 5 min, respectively. The 3.5 vol.% TiB/ TC4 matrix composites. The relative density of 3.5 vol.% TiB/TC4 composites increases with the increase of sintering temperature, and reaches saturation when the sintering temperature is 900 °C. The size of α-Lamellae increases from 1.47 μm to 2.44 μm with the increase of sintering temperature. The aspect ratio of TiB whiskers first increase and then decreases along with the solution time extending.

Abstract: Physical literacy (PL) is emerging as a promising strategy to address the crisis of physical inactivity, promote active lifestyles, improve physical fitness and reduce the risk of chronic diseases throughout life. Therefore, the aim of this study was to develop a PL assessment model for adults in China.This is a Delphi study.The following three-step design process was conducted: (1) drafting a preliminary framework for PL assessment through a literature review and telephone interview with experts; (2) a two-round Delphi survey with the experts was used to select items for inclusion in the PL assessment model; (3) the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to quantify the weight of each item included in the final PL assessment model.A total of 13 experts completed a two-round Delphi survey. After round 1, three domains, 11 sub-domains and 21 elements were identified. Two elements were added after the first-round Delphi survey. In round 2, strong consensus was obtained and a final PL assessment model, including three domains, 11 sub-domains and 23 elements, was established. Specific weights of physical activity (PA) cognition, PA-related behaviour and physical competence were 0.330, 0.347 and 0.323, respectively. In addition, the weights of sub-domains and elements were also calculated.This study established a PL assessment model and identified specific weights for the individual domains. This study represents the first step in developing a PL assessment tool for adults in China. Further research should focus on developing the PL assessment tool and verifying its validity and reliability.
