Objective To examine serum C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), tumor necrosis factor-β(TNF-β), E-cadherin (E-cad), human interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) in patients with vitiligo. Methods From May 2017 to December 2018, 60 patients with vitiligo (30 cases in active phase group and 30 cases in stable stage group) and 30 cases as control group collected from physical examination center joined the research program. The content of serum CRP, TNF-α, TNF-β, E-cad, IFN-γ and CD8 were compared among the three groups by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results The content of serum CRP, TNF-α, TNF-β and IFN-γ in patients with active and stable vitiligo were significantly higher(P＜0.05). The content of serum IFN-γ in patients with active vitiligo was significantly higher than that in patients with stable vitiligo(P＜0.05)and significantly decreased after 6 months of treatment(P＜0.05). Conclusions The content of serum IFN-γ might be used as a biomarker in laboratory to evaluate the activity of vitiligo.

Objective This study explored the effects of sevoflurane exposure during different stages of pregnancy on the brain development of offspring. Methods Thirty-six pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: control, sevoflurane exposure in early (S1) pregnancy, sevoflurane exposure in middle (S2) pregnancy, and sevoflurane exposure in late (S3) pregnancy. After natural birth, the learning and memory capacity of offspring rats was analyzed using the Morris water maze experiment. The hippocampi of offspring rats were collected. The levels of interleukin (IL)-1[beta], IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-[alpha] in the hippocampus were measured by ELISA. Additionally, the Nissl bodies in the hippocampus were analyzed using Nissl staining. Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of BDNF and CPEB2 in the hippocampus of offspring. Proteins related to the NR4A1/NF-[kappa]B pathway were analyzed using western blotting. Results The memory and learning capacity of offspring rats was significantly reduced in the S1 and S2 groups compared to the control group (p < 0.05), while there was no obvious difference between the control and S3 groups (p > 0.05). The level of IL-1[beta] was significantly increased (p < 0.05) in the S1 group compared with the control group. Sevoflurane anesthesia received in early and middle pregnancy could significantly affect the formation of Nissl bodies in the hippocampi of offspring rats. In addition, the expression of BDNF and CPEB2 in the hippocampi of offspring rats was greatly decreased in the S1 group compared with the control group (p < 0.05). The expression of NR4A1 in the hippocampi of rat offspring was significantly decreased in the S1 and S2 groups compared with the control group (p < 0.05). The expression of proteins related to the NF-[kappa]B pathway was increased in the S1 group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). An experimental investigation on the chemical, physical, mechanical, and shrinkage of seawater and sea sand-based ultra-high-performance concrete (UHP-SWSSC) with supplementary cementitious materials (SCM) (i.e. slag and silica fume) is reported. Several mixes were designed with varying proportions of SCMs (25%, 37.5%, 50%, and 62.5% of binder), aggregate source, and water-to-binder ratio. Heat evolution, density, workability, compressive strength development, and long-term autogenous and drying shrinkage of UHP-SWSSC were monitored. Seawater accelerates cement hydration as reflected in the heat evolution, and consequently, dictates the early-age strength, and autogenous shrinkage. SCM addition although limits the early-age strength development offers a comparable 90 days strength. The chloride content increases from marine resources and may limit the application to nonstructural components. Nonetheless, a UHP-SWSSC mix with 50% OPC replaced by 37.5% slag and 12.5% silica fume is recommended in this study, which can achieve satisfactory workability, long-term strength, and shrinkage properties.
